And so, a new dawn rises. Darkness and despair of the past are now behind and there is hope again. Our Chapter was tested by steel and fire, by dangers both ancient and new.

And despite everything that the merciless Fate threw at us, we passed it. We came here as Space Marines, as soldiers of the Emperor. However we emerged from the fires of this conflict as something more. Not only as warriors by birth, but by our own choice. Not only as brothers by blood, but by soul. Not only as Space Marines, but as true Angels of Death.

We thought we were perfect. But now we are way beyond that. Our world still burns. Our numbers dwindle. Darkness of space is full of enemies that have no greater desire than to destroy us and everything that we stand for. But I smile as I write these words, for the worst is behind us and we have opened a new page, a new story. And this time it is us who are going to write it, not gods, daemons or Fate itself, but us. Ghosts of Retribution, each and every one of us. And we will write it in the blood of those who stand before us. Ave Terra, Ave Imperator!

+Men of Iron are defeated, however their remnants have scattered over the surface of Mormark, regular forces with the help of our brothers are hunting them down as we speak. Also there's some bad news - it seems, that at least a few Wrath-built ships have left the planet. Aspera Dominus, your flagship, has destroyed most of them, but there's a chance that a couple of them could have slipped through and left the system...
+You gained 10 xp for the last session, now you have a total of 11 xp
+Imperial Fists believe, that they have done their duty to you, so your relations change from Grateful to Friendly.
+While leaving Wrath flagship you managed to loot d3 stc designs. Please roll for it and then roll what kind of desgins these were(on d6):

wait, is this a good comment or bad comment?

Also, some unfinished business for you to think about:

+ Your Chapter has very little knowledge about it's origins and the true purpose of their creation. Not everything makes sense in the official story.

+Wrath of Corax, the most valuable relic for your Chapter and all descendants of the Corax, was lost on Hades.

+Your Chapter still has an empty Dreadnought sarcophagus, that can be used to create a powerful ally.

+Inquisitor Faceless has a lot of dirty material on you. It would be good if he would lose this lever.

+Inquisitor Quixos, even though you have never met him, seems like someone who would serve the Emperor best by taking a bolt round with his head.

Please roll d6.

Continuing unfinished business:
+You owe Eldar Witch a favour for the prophecy that you swore with your honour and love for the Emperor. It would be good to lose this cumbersome promise.

+You are under influence of the Laughing God. If it is possible at all, it would probably be wise to try to repay your debt to him or at least to avoid his attention.

+Librarian Anterion had an 'accident'. You are still not sure whether it was your curse that was at work or someone within the Chapter.

+Anterion before his death mentioned Silencius. It seems that he is Chapter Master of Silent Guardians. It would be interesting to meet someone whom everyone except you appears to know.

+There are some very interesting prisoners being kept in Adeptus Sororitas Covenant on Attero.

There are 712 prisoners being held here, among them:
+prisoner no. 007 named 'Magos Heractus'
+prisoner no. 700 named 'Magos Fram'
+prisoner no. 230 named 'Astartes'
+prisoner no 604 named 'Philosopher of Silent Stars'
+prisoner no. 112 named 'Xeno Warlock'

+There are miles of unexplored tunnels and ancient vaults beneath the Tombstone. In one of them you have discovered an ancient A.I. codenamed "Messiah".

+Many of the facilities in Tombstone can be expanded and upgraded to strenghten your Chapter even more.

+Sixtus, mutated Silent Guardian on Inaria, told you about Fated Chapters and that they need to be warned. Ghosts of Retribution were mentioned among them.

+We have involved ourselves in the conflict between Adeptus Mechanicus and Ecclesiarchy. From this day onwards we should do all we can to either fix this situation or bring down Astrobelus Kest and his followers.

+There is Tau presence in Segmentum Obscurus and specifically Sector Deus. We must investigate, contain and destroy it. Or maybe we should use it to further our long term goals?

+High Lords of Terra made us to sign a pact with Deathwatch, meaning that we have to supply them with recruits in their endless battle against the xenos. We can either try to sever these relations and save our blood for more important matters or try to make our bonds even stronger, making Deathwatch our ally, but paying a high toll for it.

Terran Representative Kasting seems to be sincerely happy that you have made it, or at least he's faking it very well. Having to deal with your old instructor in such a situation is indeed quite awkward...
>So, my dear friend. I may be your friend, but I am still here on a duty. I've got a report to make and many things will be decided by it... And I have a lot of question. Can you please explain me these things...
Kasting wants your official statement on these issues:
+From where and why did Men of Iron came from? What do you know about them? What actions are you going to take now regarding them and the population that was exposed to the Abominable intelligence?
+Soulkillers and their practices. What is your opinion on them and their practices?
+What are your relations with Sectorial Adeptus branches? Adeptus Mechanicus, Adeptus Administratum and Adeptus Ministorium are the most important.

>+From where and why did Men of Iron came from? What do you know about them?
From where?
I imagine the past, from my talks with the MoL onboard the ship while I planned my attack they seemed to believe it was still back before the Emperor's rein.
Other than that, I know as much as you, they fight and die hard and they can act as Tyranids do to Biomass.
> What actions are you going to take now regarding them and the population that was exposed to the Abominable intelligence?
We're going to wipe the MoL off the planet.
What can you advise me to do with the population?
>+Soulkillers and their practices. What is your opinion on them and their practices?
If they serve me, and will follow the Emperor to their death, nor make a Servant of the Emperor's death come before it's time, I have no qualms with them.

"My lord, we know not from where the Men of Iron came or their intent. The only information I can give is what I learnt when I boarded their vessel. They believed it to be an age long past, seeking orders from a time long forgotten and wanting access to the stellar nexus below our chapter fortress. The population has suffered greatly at their hands but they may believe rogue band of hereteks decided to assault their planet.

I find the soulkillers troubling, however what they preach is in the name of the Emperor and I have not heard of any disciplinary misconducts yet.

As of this current time, my lord, we maintain good relations with the Adeptus Mechanicus of this sector, who I am sure will be interested in the wreckages of the warmachines and the recovered STC. We also maintain cordial relations with many of the other branches.

Recovering from the battle with the MoL and gaining numbers is our main concern, as well as finding anything useful among the remaining MoL that may help us if they appear again.

They wished for peace, and I needed a reason to keep walking without being shot.
So I talked with them for awhile, mainly about their points for turning us into slaves for labour.
Eventually I found a good point to attack and destroyed their mothership.
>You haven't mentioned these wardroids in your reports. So they can absorb biomass too?
Not as efficient as Tyranids, however they can turn any resource into a usable resource, and set up factories like they have across our planet to produce more War droids.
Thankfully they do not evolve as Tyranids do.
>We'd prefer zero rumours policy. That is - isolating the planet from any and all inter-planetary contact and then taking any measures required to ensure their silence. In extreme cases like this Terra would sanction even full extermination...
I believe full extermination isn't worthy of our current population, we will however be taking measures to ensure word of the MoL does not spread.

There have been one or two misunderstandings with them, however that is not due to their belief, but rather of their nature as Space Marines.

I am in a good mood today, so there will be no inquisitorial investigation into what kind of heretical knowledge you possess, but please try not to use metagame knowledge more than is inavoidable.

Also, Kasting has another question:
>By the way... Legally Ceiron was given to serve you by Vindicare Temple for as long as you deem neccessary, however this conflict is over. Will you want to keep him for yourself or will you release him?
(if you will keep him, you will lose 1 Favour from High Lords.)
>>

>What are you going to do with Abominable Intelligence wreckages?
They once came from man, so they have inherent good in them.
We will try if possible to salvage anything useful for our soldiers and vehicles.
We however will not permit any experimentation with A.I, in fact you have my word we will not create, or modify any A.I.
>They have shown any unusual interest in these machines?
No, but this is technology from many, many years ago, they may not have interest in them, I however imagine that they may be curious about how certain things about how they can improve the Emperor's weapons.

>So I take it that there have been no problems with your assumption of authority in this Sector? Good, High Lords will be pleased.
No problems, however there was a minor skirmish with Eldar which caught my eye, they seemed to want to retrieve something from the sector, they failed due to our interference.
I may imagine they have had warning about the MoL, possibly from their witches.

You were told, that he himself managed most of the battles and when the battles would get really fierce, he would sometimes stay awake for weeks while on stimulants. Everyone makes sacrifices of their own kind. But even though the enemy is defeated, now other worries are torturing old soldier.
>We fucked. Army is shattered, industry is devastated, whole cities wiped out from the planet's surface, and we are still fighting stragglers. But it gets even worse. They not only destroyed most of our food farms, but once they lost, they started using total scorched earth tactics. Even at this moment I am getting reports of them dumping thousands of tonnes of toxic and nuclear waste into the oceans, and not anywhere, but into the most important fishing spots. Our food production is at less than 30% and it is falling. We have reserves for no more than a few months, maybe a year, and that's on quarter-rations. After that we face total famine. Dermont.
I cannot ask you to not worry for this we Space Marines are not optimists.
However, I will do what I can to save you, and every man and woman under your command, If it comes to it I will even bring help from Holy Terra herself to aid us.
This isn't just your planet, it is ours as well, we will rebuild together and hopefully we will be stronger for it.
And By the Emperor Dermont, I believe you deserve a break.

We pay our debts, you can count on our support.
Most of our marines will be dealing with picking off what is left of the Iron Men, but we still have some influence and wealth left and we will use a significant amount of both to assist you.

The contacts we have among the Adeptus Mechanicus may be able to assist with clearing up the pollution.... or they may not, but I will petition them to assist in any way they can.

As for your food issues.... we will have to import. As I said, we have some wealth to spend on stabilizing this crisis.

Just to keep it in one place, here's how our current plans look like:

100 tactical, 10 assault, 5 techmarines, 5 apothecaries are on salvaging duty. They are to run troubleshooting on the salvaging of the remains of the MoI mothership(as well as the extermination of the remaining MoI) and they are to do the boarding actions of the ships the MoI are trying to escape with

100 tacticals in orbit, they are the fast response units - they are to deploy in order to counter surprise attacks and assist everyone as neccessary

50 tacticals supporting the titan legions

everyone else not on special duty: fighting the Iron men alongside the Mormank military.

The fleet: their main priority is to keep the iron men from escaping.
Their second priority is to perform bombardments when we call them in and to salvage everything that is to be salvaged.

I think if he was sucked into warp, he'd eventually make a contraption to come back... And regarding local authorities I have just one suggestion - play nice. Sector Governor most likely views you as a threat to status quo and that is always bad. If you want him on your side, try pleasing him somehow. And Cardinal... Well, you've got to be careful with Ministorium. They can do more than it seems. But ofcourse it's just my point of view. Dermont greatly appreciates your help. He mentions a few possible ways to lift the threat of famine from faithful Mormarkians:
a) securing massive food imports
b) cleaning the oceans
c) rebuilding the food farms
d) securing good contracts for Mormarkian mining industry, this would allow them to buy food off-planet
(special note - it is very hard to do any of these without breaching quarantine. How are you going to tell Dermont about it?)

We don't really do disregarding of rolls.

As for salvaging:
First, we need to talk to the master of the forge about the AI in the basement.
After that, we can decide who will lead the salvaging operation.
If Seran needs to stay with it, he stays and assigns a techmarine of his choice to lead the salvage. Otherwise, he leads it himself.

If you intent on keeping quarantine, then yes, space marines would be considered to be trutworthy middle-men. If outsiders would come to Mormark... Well, they would probably soon understand what happened here. And then you've got an influx of immigrants to salvage stuff and you've got 40k version of the zone, with stalkers and shit.

>>21031124
I'd prefer a named character, so I'll take Seran. Also please give me the criteria - what are you salvaging? Precious parts? Usable weapons and simple tech? Or maybe even some of the more advanced designs? Do you destroy(as instructed) any of them?

You reap a huge bounty from the destroyed enemy army, but I need specifications to make a proper list of results.
>>

>He's an assassin, not a one-man army, you should have called Eversor. If you wish so, you can send him, but it will make no strategic difference and there's always a chance that he'll fail and die.
Well, what I meant is he should just go along with the Marines.
Not try and be a one-man army and go alone.
If he still has such low chance don't bother.

>what are you salvaging? Precious parts? Usable weapons and simple tech? Or maybe even some of the more advanced designs? Do you destroy(as instructed) any of them?
STCs, high-tech weaponry and armor, advanced designs, anything highly useful to us.
If there is an A.I still alive up there crush it, unless Seran himself decides to take it.

>What!? How!? We are not autonomous! We will not survive without trade! It's not a matter of prosperity or not being able to visit paradise worlds, it's a matter of life and fucking death! I would prefer it if a few would die because we could not trade rather than we anger the inquisition, and possibly bring doom to us all.
However we have a way to get around it.

During the salvaging you have not suffered any losses, either in manpower or machines. Seran made sure that your methodical sweeping was not interrupted by anything, enemy ambushes and booby traps were being dealt with quickly and efficiently.

>warp travel blocking device
They had no such device, or atleast they haven't used it. The only thing they showed to have was astropathic message blocking device.

As you open the Vault, a man stumbles out of the darkness and falls at your feet. He's a space marine, but certainly not Destros, he is naked and quite visibly bears no marks of augmentation on him, except for the natural black carapace ports... He is trembling and sobbing, but finally he looks up at you and you realise that it's Desros afterall.

>He's an assassin, not a one-man army, you should have called Eversor. If you wish so, you can send him, but it will make no strategic difference and there's always a chance that he'll fail and die.
Attach him to our space marines and have him take out high priority targets from safe distances. Think of him as another space marine, as we have nothing better for him to do.

>What!? How!? We are not autonomous! We will not survive without trade! It's not a matter of prosperity or not being able to visit paradise worlds, it's a matter of life and fucking death! The most important thing to salvage is that warp block device.
Other than that, the idea was to take whatever we find, melt down the outright heretical stuff and hand over the rest to AdMech.
So, prioritize high end stuff that the mechs can duplicate (like raw data/blueprints/STC-like stuff) and the rest we can throw into stasis chambers.
Outright AIs are to be just killed. Their shells are to be preseved(unless they can self repair or something).
