(Last time)
Asrid had gotten the faith and saved Slarens's chick. Getting her a dragon of her own.
A powerful elf has been 'convinced' to no longer come into the village.
Winter is now only 4 months away and drawing closer by the minute.

Maps of a desert to the south and a smaller map of the mountains near the dwarves and the evil mountain goblins.

The red dragoness is still out...seeming to have gone into a hibernation sort of sleep in a mine she was chained up in after being defeated.

(What now)
1A: Work on society problems
2A: Better make sure those dragon chicks are ok...
3A: See how the goblins are getting back on their feet.

Hi there!

Can you make a quick summary from wednesday and thursday?

Also hope you had a good birthday
>>
at last I finally have an idea for the forest spirit but that I shall wait till spring to do more fitting that way plus I need to finish finding some of the things I shall need for it.
>>
Hello anyone?
>>

>>21018139
Sorry about that.
Wedsday we won the war. We didn't do anything thursday or friday I don't think.

>>21018836
Society it is.)

A few men suggest that they have some sort of outpost or something around where the mines are.

So 6 Men go out and make three small camps by the nearby mines of Magrite. They use the exsisting camps that were razed in the battles. They dig very little of the magrite while the other hunts rabbits and other creatures in the plains sending any extra back to the village for storage.
>>
>>21018893
(What would you like to do now?)

I guess we'd better check on the dragon chicks
>>

Let´s do it

Agreed.
>>
>>21019058
(awesome)
Slarens, Asrid, and Waterstone start to give the baby dragons a small check up. Waterstone notices that one of them is less black and has blue streaks and bleaches acid and a little bit of sparks.

"Seems he got a little bit of his mother in him..." He explains that he had met a blue dragoness in the desert.
>>
>>21019102
(Now what would like to do?
Any suggestions would be nice.)

Uh... Look for salt deposits in the plains?

>>
>>21019102
well Slarens is good with the ladies.

Salt deposits in the plains i doubt the forest containers any or rather if it does i am not in the mood to argue with the trees over it.
>>
>>21019123
What about a status report on Riverheart and party?
>>
>>21019237
(You wouldn't be able to really get any info from them. They're isn't really a way to have info travel...)

>>21019234
A few men that were by the mines find a few deposits of odd white crystals. The dwarves help dig a good bit up and split most of what they dug up with plenty to spare.

They find using this they can preserve and make food taste at least a little better. With this one of the young men and one young women start to cook for the whole tribe and preserve a large amount of uneaten food.
>>
>>21019322

Now we might as well explore more of the forest.
>>
>>21019322
(Gonna let you decide what they do next.
Remember what you got and what else you have.)
>>
food preservation has been taken care of now thats good real good. It allows excess food reserves to build up allowing our population to grow real important. We got plains yet for cropland do that in cycles allowing the land to recover. The forest for lumber as soon as i get around to figuring out a way to reason with asshole trees. Thats gonna take a while. Lets see do we have map making capabilities good ones?
>>
>>21019384
Agreed.
>>
Ok, let's explore the forest.
>>
>>21019396
(you could learn the basics of map making. The main map, the one with the village on it, is made by someone in the village on a clay slab.)
>>
>>21019429
Cartography sounds like a good idea as well.
>>
>>21019429

Time to invent paper I guess...
>>
>>21019415
(Welcome by the way)

A few rangers and a guard go out over the river with the help of a fallen log. They find a small lake and what looks like some sort of stone structure in the ground.

Someone in the group went to go inspect it but ran speaking of some sort of odd creepy painting that seemed to move. The rest hear moans and don't chance going inside.

a type of paper can be made from papyrus or some sort of reed. for that i suggest contacting the River spirit she should know what grows on her shores and should be able to point us in the right direction. In fact also ask about some sort of hemp plant for rope and fabrics.

Don't just send the apprentices send some soldiers with them as escort.
>>
>>21019567
Ask! What is our stance with the mountain goblins and drow. After we won?

You guys didn't really...do anything else about them. So I'd say your still pissy with them.)

Brin and Fren went to ask Vire, as Waterstone was busy with Asrid dealing with the baby dragons. They ask about the place they heard from the small band and Vire says
"Used to be something that lived around the area...been about a hundred years or so...or maybe only ten. Odd shaped creature, somewhat like you but much...shorter."

The two apprentices, having nothing better to do, go to where this location was. They were confident that nothing was there and find the small structure.

They poke around a bit, not going in quite yet and walk through a nearly round door way...

As they walk in they find a strange little area...a small painting spooked them, but only because two odd gems were set into the frame it was in giving it a ghostly sort of look.

They keep looking finding frayed cloth on the floor, a few more stone things one with blackened areas as if someone was lighting fires. They walk into another room and they find odd wooden barrels.

Together they bring one back to the village, unsure of what the hell to do with it.

They contact a Dwarf, who had set up a little shack outside the village walls.

Fren and Brin do this somewhat in private. They roll the barrel around to his shack and the Dwarf grins. He rips the top off with an ax and dips a small clay inside.

He takes a large swig and shakes his beard, "Lads! You found a barrel of great Wine...Very valuable and well aged...I suggest keeping this to yourself."

The two consider it...and decide to do just that. They even consider making the place their own little home. Being brothers it'd be nice to have their own private home.
>>

I recommend sending scout out the plains as it would be much faster than the forest. Their mission is simple to
1 map it completely
2 find/document edible/medicinal plants
3 find edible/domestic-able animals
4 mark any unusual things
5 mark the location of resources

Were gonna get stuck using clay tablets with this but a detailed map of the plains would be invaluable. On that note my sister visited which is strange she never visits......ever. Says i am acting more bearable(normal). In fact she even invited me to come live with her. I think she is worried about me living alone in the forest. Told her not to worry the trees may be assholes but the forest is their home they whisper many things to me all day every day even in my dreams if only i could understand more of it. there are precious few beings who know it as well them and even better than them.
>>
>>21020327
keep the house
>>
>>21020295
The young men decide to keep the wine and the home. They inform their teacher, Waterstone, that they will be storing their things there and staying there for a little while.

They map out the location and Asrid follows them one day. She points out a few old book cases they missed with a few old rotting books about lizards that were large enough to ride.

They don't give them much heed and give them to Asrid to keep. They move the barrels near Slarens's hut for safe keeping and start to trade certain amounts for things they'd want.

A few gold coins to the dwarves, some odd gemstones from the elves, even for a little repair work from the goblins for half a barrel.

To say anything...they were living a little rich and living in the house. Having the village closer than most other places they feel pretty safe.
>>

i am hurt no one thinks it really me.

Here is the The story of i am acting strange here it goes. For you see i was eating a delicious mushroom soup. For once i noticed the trees were silent this was unusual many people consider the forest as being quiet i can promise that is not so. There is always motion, skittering, whispering and talking everywhere. People just choose to ignore it. Here i was enjoying the quiet after having been tripped, smacked, and whipped by those fucking trees. There came a strange figure sitting on a long next to me. I would of been surprised but to be honest the forest contains strange things that's not even including the mushrooms. Figuring this was just another vision i offered the figure some soup. He declined, i than asked why he was here, he asked if i wanted to play a game. Figuring out why not i accepted. He drew forth a pouch full of carved stones. We played a game interestingly enough i seem to know how to play. One thing i noticed however he was wearing robes and was hooded the entire time. After the first few games we were on a tie breaker match to decide the winner once and for all. It was then he asked if i wanted to make a wager. I figured sure why not. I was just happy the trees had finally shut up for once.
>>

He offered a "annoyingly clever" raven. I offered a trick i learned from the trees on how to make clothing leaves, grasses and other things( if you want a recipe for armor you are gonna have to argue with trees over it yourself or the village reaches a consensus about wanting to know). He paused and asked the origins of such a recipe. I stated i learned it due to the trees feeling sorry for my inability to win a simple staring contest(smug assholes). He laughed it was strange sound like a grating of bone. The last match was hard incredibly hard by this time i was bored and was thinking that a pet would be a bad idea so i rushed. sadly i was sobering up a bit for you see the effects are strongest with made in a stew with the broth and all. I was acting like my normal self and through a random flunk i won. The figure sighed and looked up that was when i saw its face. I swear i looked upon face of death itself that day. He left a stone carved in the shape of the raven and told me the raven would be here shortly also he would like another game sometime. The figure than walked away into the forest. I laughed it off and went to bed. When i woke up there was a raven and on the stump we played the game on was a stone from last night. Suffice to say i am seriously worried that those mushrooms merely reveals the unseen. I haven't eaten any of them in a while but i still have that damned raven who calls me Madman. I have yet to pluck the courage to ask why and it was also right about the bird being annoying it never shuts up.
>>
>>21020753
Sure that works
>>
>>21020783
i regret winning that game if only to be free having such an annoying bird. Seriously i wouln't be surprised if the figure came out just to get rid of the damn thing. As for the whole clothing deal i figured out ways to make things from the forest just not armor. Not in the mood to argue with the trees for that one unless the village REALLY wants to know if thats the case i want one of those nifty blue and red axes inexchange.
>>
>>21020762
READING IT IS THEN!)

Asrid pours over a few of the books, learning a bit more about the lizards.

From what the book said they were called "Stone scaled" as they ate stone to harden their scales. They laid eggs and mostly lived in the deserts...she remembered one of the maps and the desert one came to mind.

She finds most are rather docile and by the book's words 'These beasts are only loyal to those who last were on their backs. Other wise they will find stone to eat and stay there."

A few more books about the breeding habits were very precise, saying they had to lay their eggs in sand near a river bank.

She also finds that they can swim rather well and a note in the book in elves in some strangers handwriting said 'only the g(scibbled out letters) have mastered the art of breeding the beasts to my knowlage."
>>
>>21020861
Ask the goblins!
>>
>>21020880
Ask the goblins and get them to teach us how to breed them!
>>
>>21020844
Asrid was reading on one of the stumps in the forest when she heard the story of "Mogrim the Mad". She saw the bird and heard it speak a few times and wrote a few things down in elvish.

She kept notes on the strange game, the odd armor and goodies Mogrim spoke of making, and the bird which had called her 'Moonbabe'. which caused the little dragon chick to shoot acid at it.
>>
>>21020900

Waterstone

Well you see, even if they're not right we just ask them and that's it waste a turn, if were right then we find out, nothing to lose.
(Also should we add a more concise time system, like every turn is a week?)
>>
>>21020935
Goblins, gnomes, giants.
>>
>>21020965
Two turns is roughly a week.
>>
Well from what i have noticed i have seen a mixture of elven, dwarven, and even draconic writings. Some of the youngsters are even blending it together. I remember asking my sister about it she explained that some languages have words for things the other doesn't so they have begun including it mixing them so to speak. The results are rather strange but so long as you know the parent parent languages you can decipher what it says.

On that note i am requesting my previous suggestion for the plains.

Mapping it is!)

A larger group is sent out onto the plains. Some getting together and then finally...they map out the rest of the plains by the ends of the week.

They do together to mark 4 salt deposits.

Another rocky crag toward the bottom of the plains. They also mark a large rocky area that when they climbed it they can see from plenty of sand and that's...about it.

They don't find many animals except for a few deer and the rabbits around the area. They also see a few different brown and grey wolves.

They mark a few more things and find, while not difference is seen from the original map. They can also happily find things.

Bah sniffing around where i live looks like its gonna be time to move again. Plus winter is coming need a better spot. I would like to check to see if those rocky areas contain any mineral deposits.

I was by my fire last night. According to the trees so long as the flames are not to large and fuel that is used comes from the dead their fine. I knew it arrived due to the complete stillness and the silence. There came the same thing who gave me the annoying perverted raven who NEVER shuts up. I have lost count the times i tried to kill the thing this last week alone. We sat around it set up the game again. simple game really or so it appears. We played a long time going back and forth in victories. Yet again were on the tiebreaker match he asked if i would like to make a wager i offered the same thing as last time. He said he would take one request. A chance to get rid of that damn raven. i HAD to win. It was an extremely long and hard match..............and i lost. The bony figure laughed and took a look at the recipe before stating how interesting it was. I asked when he would come around for a game again to know ahead of time.

"dark Nights No Lights"

The figure than went off into the forest again.

One of the guards sent also got a Blue and Red Magrite ax for Mogrim...though mostly because he knew if he got one he'd probably set himself on fire.

Hey op how does population mechanic work in this game considering how few people we have and how much time a single turn is worth how will this work? The more people we can get the better at the moment even losing one person hurts us considering our population.

And did we learn how to do it ourselves?

This saddens the group a bit and they keep going, finding a few reeds and some rocks on the way down. they also find a little bit of small foot prints.

Follow the prints!
also did we actually reach the forest or are we just following the river towards the desert?
>>
>>21022418
Let´s carefully follow the footprints
>>
>>21022436
...Wha? The river flowed out of our swamp, the top green bit. It didn't go to any other area that they know of.
2 for prints.
>>
might as well follow

A few men follow the prints and find a few tied up stone scales. They pat their heads and see a few stone structures.

They aren't very big but when they get closer they disapear in a burst of sand.

Uh, say hello, and we mean peace?
>>
>>21022511
Yeah i guess this is it?

But don´t send the whole party leave 2 people behind to watch what happens.
>>
>>21022478
well we don't have anything that can burrow nor do we have a spell caster capable of of anything that can help. I am stumped i suggest leaving saying hello out loud stating we come in peace. Maybe leave a gift and continue on.

Sounds good, we could also cry for them
>>
>>21022556
"Hail! We come in peace from our forests..." Waterstone shouted into the air setting a small set of pots onto the sand.

"I wish to meet you...but we will be back in a weeks time if you wish to meet by the river then." He says then makes the others come back and go up river...leaving the tiny area alone.

were not done scouting yet. As for the idea of apprenticeship that is a good idea. Problem is the child would have to be a natural savant. Metal and stone speaks to dwarfs thats why their so good with it.
