1. Our objective is to secure the Serpico gate, which I believe to be down south near the body of water.
2. There is a gate to the north east, we'll be checking it out as well.

Plan of action:

Orange Group- Consists of Tycho, Rockwell, and Argo
Your objective is to reach that body of water, guard Tycho while he takes a sample. You'll be keeping an eye out for the Serpico gate as well.

Team Purple- Consists of Montblanc, Paige, and Cray
Your objective is to defeat or tame that spider, and then go through the cave to the northeast gate. If there is not a path leading to the other side of this hill, Cray is to make one for you.

Everyone else not on one of those teams, fall back to the green circle. Keep fighting, but don't venture past the red line.
If you are a bloqsmith and you aren't working on walls or manning a ballista or catapult, I expect you on the front lines with your hammer.
I also need one bloqsmith to finish that inn, so far only the foundation has been laid down. Decide which of you will build it before action resumes.

Storm mages- Work on calming the weather.

Further planning will come later after the situation develops.

I'll finish crenelating the southern wall first. Then once that's done, I'll go finish off the inn.

Question: The water infront of the gate. Do we want to modify the gates into a draw bridge or get rid of it or what?

Once the southern crenelations and the other parts are done. Do you want me to go north to the forest and begin logging for higher quality mobile artillery units? To bring with us into the next map? Or should I instead focus on building emplaced artillery pieces and crenelate the entire wall?

I know the professor said not to crenelate the south wall, but it's a goddamn death trap with those boom stick ghouls down in that pit. But I have an idea on how to both crenelate -and- make a catapult next turn (so at least I have some cover... Irontalon, focus on getting yourself inside with our wounded friend, if worse comes to worst, I'm sure our centaur contractor will do fine. She can probably summon up that troll between her and the bullets at the very least!

or an Evoker or Alchemist maybe? Evoker can be really versatile if you know your manas and how to use them, while Alchemist turns you into a mobile artillery platform ^^

Failing all that, Adept is versatile from what I can tell, and Knight is just boss :P I only took Bloqmaster because I prefer building things to all else. Next time I'll probably go evoker or MAYBE storm mage

Why triple lance? its only advantage is the multi-hex attack, and its main use is for defensive situations -this means that you'll need a lot of hp to make it count and survive. if you want range, bows and crossbows.
I suggest you to take two crossbows and a hammer or sword. isn't the shield proficient in every weapon? its legitimate assume so, I think.

The other option is to combine Bloqmastery with Evokerisms!

We use Time magic on special wheels. You spin them up in one direction, activate the magic, they'll spin backwards! Turning whatever they're attached too!

Or just fire magic to make a self boiling pot. No fuel. Steam power go.

I think we should try to stick to as much magic and leonardo/archimedes-punk as we can unless Monday drops a foreign tank into our laps, would be extremely OOC to do otherwise.

Also, if we DO run into an enemy internal combustian vehical. Evokers should raise the internal temperatures as high as possible, try to ignite their gasoline supply. Same for guns, try to ignite the clips (doubt it would work, they seem to be using explosive compounds rather than true black powder given the make of their guns)

I'm not. I'm eager to see them deployed with their big, not so heat or ice or plant resistant vehicles against a force with superior magic to them.

1-Drop some briar seeds into the top, vitas magic them as they fall so they explode into terrible thorny grenades. Even if they don't kill, they'll prevent the tank crew from doing jack.
1a-Use Death mana to make them go dry and brittle as kindling, then ignite them with Firas.

2- Use water, then freeze it with wind magic

3- Use wind and light mana to generate lightning, bring it down upon their communications units

4- Summon fierce storms to ground their air units and deadly bombers. Dry out the land and summon terrible winds to create sand storms.

And that's just off the top of my head. Seriously, Evoker is PROBABLY our strongest class in terms of pure versatility of what they can pull off.

Where they can deploy more heavy hitting units than us, with guns, tanks, etc.etc. We have far greater versatility, able to MASSIVELY alter the very terrain and battlefield with Bloqmasters, Evokers, and Storm Mages. That triumverate of "Hex Moders" can work together for insanely overpowered combos.

For example. What would happen if we poured -all- our terras into ripping down that southern cliff face keeping the lake up there? Now that we have a fairly high wall to prevent major leaks? (ignore the fact we have people down there right now)

The other classes are VERY important of course. We need healers, scouts, defenders, pointsmen. We can only deal with so many threats at once. But just as you wouldn't NORMALLY deploy tanks to take down just a few soldiers, same for us, we should just deploy our Evokers and other heavy hitters to deal with small fry. It's all about synergy of units. If an Evoker can't charge up enough of the right mana combos to pull off what needs to be done, then they're useless, a Storm mage takes time to get the weather built up and we're STILL not sure of all the possible combinations of weather factors we can alter to produce the effects we want. (I imagine we won't be able to get tornados going until we have a high level storm mage capable of switching the wind back and forth between high speed in one direction to high speed in the opposite direction in a single turn. Like 7 west to 7 east, requiring a modifier of 14)

And we've SEEN how slow Bloqmasters are to build stuff. I got plans to circumvent that, but even so, we'll need time to build up momentum.

Other armies are really powerful right out of the gates, and get small BURSTS of power over time (Ragnyll planting flags), their units start off weak though and when they die, that's it.

Iffram instead starts off fairly weak at the beginning of the battle, mostly melee units, with strong combos certainly, but still. We don't have much in the way of armor busting either. Instead, we grow stronger over TIME. Our really strong magic classes getting more and more powerful the longer they're on the field.

Evokers: Gathering more and more mana
Storm Mages: Altering the weather to favor us
Contractors: Gaining new allies and able to bring them to the field.

Bloqmasters (not really castors) able to alter the field of battle -literally- through hex alteration.

I haven't even BEGUN to make an analysis of the other classes, but I'd not be surprised if the trend continues.

Don't immediately assume Technology > Magic. Makes it tougher, but that just means we got to be IMAGINATIVE and not just look at the stat lines.

Anyway, I hope this'll help everyone figure out how to make this work. We're not like the other armies where you can actually sorta get away with single-manning some objectives and working semi-independently (which given the powerful statlines of other groups, was certainly possible). Teamwork, especially Hex Modifiers, are where this game is going to get crazy awesome.

For example? We've been having a dearth of materials... buuuuut... what if our Terras mana using friends PULL UP ROCKS FROM THE GROUND for us first? Along the path we'll be building on. All of a sudden, our Bloqmasters have higher quality materials to build stuff out of.

Also, remember, we need to bring wagons with us. If you can cart a wagon? And we have one? You bring it with us through the gate. If possible we should see about getting pack animals to cart trains of them for us in special circumstances.

Synergies guys. Synergies and imagination. Stat lines mean jack-all with Iffram. If they didn't, then we'd be in a pretty poor spot given how LITTLE we're able to MODIFY our own statlines over time.

Speaking of Storm Mages: Super rough way to create tornadoes, according to my limited knowledge and a couple minutes on Wikipedia.

Start off with a super cell. I believe in the terms of this game, it would be making things very cloudy and hot.

Then increase the mesocyclone so it reaches below the cloud base. I believe this is done by having a very cold and wet undercurrent.

That should be all a Storm Mage needs to do. The rest should just be watching the sparks fly, however it should be stated that I have no idea what I'm talking about.

=The Slow Phase Experiment=

As you could see, I have taken, slowphases , an experiment in efficiency to its upper limit. Whole weeks end up getting comitted to a number of turns that could be accomplished in a single night. Furthermore, the amount of threads this generates is something I would consider wasteful especially if MOST of a thread is executed in slow phases.

However I've observed some bright sides to this though I don't know if it isn't something that could already be happening if we did it classic mode.

+ More discussion- but it ends up getting too meta and away from IC chatter which is favorable because it suspends disbelieve.

+ Tactix and cooperation gets a bit of leeway here. But this effect only magnifies at the CO's initiative. So it is comparable.

= Attendance is still more or less the same. Even with the convenience of being here all day. Suffice it to say attendance can be counted as a gameplay mechanic and a person's ability to adapt to a foreign game system that is ultimately easy to learn.

However the downsides are easy to see. Especially after the 3rd or 4th day. Which is why slowphases must be the last resort- next to postponing or even ending a thread on a cliffhanger. Unless the next battle day happens in 2 days, slowphases is not worth the trouble of distending the stress.
