She gestures with that hand, and Malal's right arm rips itself from her shoulder in one loud, juicy crunch.

Weighing options from Kharn's perspective:

On one hand, Ahriman is absurdly powerful right now and will likely tear through us and our friends with nary a glance to see if their bodies still twitched. If things get desperate enough, Malal may switch off the helmet inhibitor and give Ahriman a full blast of raw Culexus, but at the cost of most of her lifespan. Accepting the hand and promise from this pink girl will promise revenge on Ahriman for sure.

On the other hand, if this is the Blessed Lady that Ahriman and Erebus were babbling on about, she was not against slaughtering hundreds of MGs for her own purposes, and twisted Ahriman into an unrecognizeable parody of her former self. There's no telling what Kharn could do if she accepted that power, though she did will herself back from a witchy state. Maybe she could even maintain control of her current self if she accepted this offer.

However, lack of blood and copious amounts of pain and despair and desperation probably rules out most of the methodical planning and analysis of the above.

With a single push do you send Ahriman stumbling back - her wings immediately flaring out behind her and flapping a great, sudden downbeat, steadying her immediately - and it's then that you charge into her again, chainaxes whirring madly in your clawed grips. With quick, sweeping chops do you smash both Gorefather and Gorechild again and again into Ahriman's blockade, the Third Warmaster's fear-stink tickling your nostrils as she tries valiantly to hammer each rending blow aside, using her staff as a maul now. While her transformation had certainly improved her abilities, it is still clear that she was never meant to fight up close - or fight someone whose expertise is all about getting close in someone's face and shearing their skull right off their shoulders.

Most, if not all, of our big fights are going to be against Golden Weapon wielders, who are typically too far gone mentally to care if they see Midori/Matsuda disguised as a friend/lover. You end your words in a harsh cackle - just as you swing Gorefather in a low, sweeping cut - curving down from an overhead grip and then hooking in from the side, the thrice-tracked smile of the massive chainaxe ripping into Ahriman's right knee and instantly chewing through. The tortured scream has barely left the Warmaster's lips when her other kneecap - and the joint behind it - is shorn completely through in a meaty, blood-spattered screech.

The Third Warmaster drops heavily into the scorched, blasted floor once more, foul black blood spurting and gouting from her new stumps. The golden staff still grasped with one hand, she all but impresses you by trying to crawl away, murmuring prayers and pleas under her breath - but you stop her, kicking the staff away from her hand and then pressing one bladed foot on the center of her back. The blade-tip digging into the flesh above her spine.

Her remaining wing flaps erratically, weakly. It is already shedding feathers, revealing a mange-ridden, fleshy mutation.

As I said before, Midori probably isn't going to be very useful in a straight-up fight later on. But assuming that Chiaki makes it to Warmaster position, we can use her and our vast resources to make it a lopsided fight whenever we can. We did this to a very limited degree with Misaka and Sayaka support when we were taking down Kirika. In fact, if we didn't bring Misaka along, it's likely that we would have lost or ended up using the Deagle to kill Kirika (and Mami as well?).

We've always said that we need to come up with better plans to take down these crazies. I'm not about to write off someone who could become a PMM version of a Terran Ghost or Spectre with the proper training. Utility is never a bad thing.

However, what at least should be brightly-colored is now dark, almost completely black, concealing what color it had been originally. You've seen the same kind of darkness in Magical Girls you've been forced to retire, and those desperately in need of a Grief Seed.

You waste no time in crunching it into powder underfoot. At the very least, you have honored your promise to Erebus. She will be joined in Hell by her Warmaster, and such a reunion is more than they deserve.

It is then that you rush towards Malal, your half-dismembered aide, currently lying in a pool of her own blood, beside an unconscious Murderface. It is then that you see where the gunshots had come from - somehow, Malal had procured an astounding number of firearms from somewhere, and she had emptied out every one in her attempt to fend Ahriman off. Their smoking, nearly-melted ruins littering the ground around the both of them.

With two ragged, bleeding holes in her suit where her arms should be, Malal seems to be breathing, but faintly. Her pulse isn't all that strong either, but it's there. Murderface is the same way, except she's just unconscious, not armless.

From what QB mentioned about Chiaki's partnership with Kharn, it seemed like there was a 6 month partnership period with Kharn (after she stepped down as Warmaster) and a 6 month period in which Murderface worked alone. There's still a 6 month gap unaccounted for in this flashback, as this was ~1.5 years before Chiaki's trip to Siberia. There may still be yet more adventures in store for Malal/Kharn/Murderface, unless Kharn regards a single particularly violent incident as being "old times".
