>"For my heinous crimes against my own kind I was judged to be imprisoned here for ten thousand years."
>"Gee, when'd they put you there, then?"
>"Last thursday."
>"Ouch."

As of late, I have toyed with the idea of cyclopean beings, mighty titans and colossi of long-gone eras, being chained forever to temples and grottos far away from civilization - and small children somehow finding their way to them and sticking around for a chat. I know I've seen pictures of these things around, but this is the best I could come up with in a short notice.

Could anyone post some more of that stuff, as well as generally discuss about how to add this kind of themes to a campaign? Who are they, why and how were they imprisoned, what would they do if they were set free, what do they think of these kids coming to them for tea each tuesday, and so forth?
>>
That is curiously specific OP

Sorry about that. It's sometimes how my mind works.
>>
No good op. If i search danbooru for monster and little_girl, nothing worksafe comes around.

Titans make pacts with the little kids, help me get free and I'll do whatever you want type deal. And then there are half-god kids running around trying to put a stop to the titan spawned and so on/.

>Release my from my bonds, human child, and I shall be your charge for all eternity. Service on the move is far better than stoic imprisonment.
>"Well... OK. But first you gotta tell me what you're going to do for me."
>I shall be your guardian and protector in these violent lands, with me as your shield and sword, no man may take up arms against you.
>"Nah. Sounds boring. Let's play tag."
>I AM YOURS TO COMMAND, TAG!
>"No fair, your steps are three tips longer than mine!"
>That is a real shame, child. Now catch me if you can!

And the Titan of the Orzi became a playmate of the children in a small village.

perhaps this is what you are looking for?

there is a story behind this one actually.
There once lived a woman by herself on a farm, with nothing but a milk-producing cow to keep her company. Every morning she would juice the dairy out of her cow and head off to market to sell it at noon. And in the evening she would write bad poetry and feed it to her cow in embarrassment.

....for the rest of the story

>Here I rest, for a thousand years,
>Made of strongest stone, and stoutest gears,
>'Till inactivity pays for maker's deeds,
>And then, towering titan I'll be; this lands' greatest fears.

A great machine that was created by an angery tinker to crush the people who shunned him over the years for his practice, but died before it would be finished, killed by those same people when they caught on to his intent. The exterior is finished, but it will take his ghost centuries to finish it by occasionally possessing one of the folk from the area, guiding their hands to finish it and get his revenge.
>>
>>20891310
Expanding upon this.

Have humanity be a disease, no matter how hard you resist, you always become human.

Have some ancient creature chained into a mountain overlooking a slowing growing village/town start with absolute disgust and hatred of them people, but to alleviate its boredom, it watches and follows their lives, from birth to the grave.

Then it picks out one really interesting one, one that goes against all the regular actions and ideas that the creature has gotten used to seeing.

And when finally a band of adventurers come to slay the great creature once and for all, it just swats them down, hushes them up and says "Silence, I am watching my humans."

Or something that hates all organic life, considering it messy and disgusting, but one day discovers 80's Hair Metal and wants nothing more than the craft a guitar capable of handling the music it wants to make, and some denim jeans.

Well OP. I actually think your picture is a little more awe inspiring then your description. To that I mean "Why specifically Cycopeans?"

Your pic, OP, your story and lets add in this Anon's pic >>20891374
Have several different beings all chained up around the world.
They were the Titan chained up for punishment for going against the gods.

They ARE the god that mortals are fet up with them and chain all the gods up. Magic as receded from the world as such. However if you go to them and win their favour they may grant you some measure of power. Children have not yet grown up "hating the oppressive gods" yet so they converse with them more often.

They were Devils and demon who wish to corrupt, until the forces of good imprisoned them. They very subtle lure children to them and act as a friend. Slowly corrupting them. The children often grow up to be Necromancers, BBEGs, etc.

Nope, already foresaw what's going to happen. She's going to die and left Golem 6b all alone. Then he'll finally feel sadness.

>>
>>20891704
All things die. Apart from Golem 6b. But soon things come to fill the gaps. And Golem 6b is not alone anymore.
>>
>>20891704
She's bound to die by the end. But perhaps she will give Golem 6b a few decades of friendship first.

Perhaps her own children will one day come to converse with him, too? And her grandchildren?

Perhaps there will be a small village around the garden, guarded by Golem 6b who cares about life and protects and nurtures it?

Don't worry, fire doesn't burn golems.

People with big weapons harm golems. But in general a war golem would be pretty hard to properly damage.

I like this as a theme.

It's fairly common in Greek mythology with both atlas and promethous doing that kinda time.

Hell, any kind of bond to another will for a certain amount of time for a crime of sorts works, if the bond creature is a giant or larger.

.... heck, even works for smaller things. Giants teaching elves humility and such.

Golem 6b reminds me of that poor old robot that was digging to save its human friends from an avalanche. He had been there for years and wouldn't give untill he found them.

Anyone still have that story?

I know that there are a bit too many quest threads around, but after checking out this scenario I'm getting the feeling that a quest based on this from the point of view of the titan/golem/being/thing imprisoned, could be pretty interesting.

What the fuck, /tg/. What. The. Fuck.

This thread was supposed to be simple. It was supposed to have pictures and ideas about cool golems being bounded to areas. But nooooooooo. You had to go and tug at my heart strings. You had to fucking made my lips quiver as I tried not to cry at Golem 6b.

Fuck you, /tg/. ;_;
>>
I will drawfag Golem 6b tomorrow.
>>
I think the reason Golem 6b was good at manly tears was because he was so child like. He didn't have a care in the world other than his garden and Girl. But he would never see them again in death, with his own seemingly cursed existence to just keep on going.

That and how his bees keep dying every year.
>>
>>20896356
>>20896316
>>20896011
>>20893491
Fun series, but not weepy material. Neither is the golem story TBH. /tg/ just lacks any kind of serious reference for these things.
>>

>>
>>20897126
Nope. I am affected by things, for instance I remember being strongly affected by the death of Minna Cammens and the end of Flowers for Algernon when I was a kid.
>>
>>20896778
Same thing goes for that whole Bakers Daughter thing. I STILL dont get why that was supposed to be so tearjerking.
>>
>>20897259
A lot of us are just really passionate about what we love. Stories and Traditional Games, we're a board dedicated to people who entertain themselves by getting emotionally involved in fictional games built in the imagination.

So it's not surprising that a story that relates to our games and tales causes a reaction in some of us.
>>
>>20897259
IMO it is because /tg/'s idea of good fiction is shitty, stereotype-filled fantasy trash.
>>
>>20897298
I suppose. It was just such a bad story. At least Golem 6b didnt pull out plot twists and retardation that would make M Night Shamalan cringe.
>>
>>20897320
Which is pretty funny because I usually write shitty pulp stories to entertain friends and the internet in general with far too many cliches.

Just felt like sending it straight with 6b.
>>
Just gonna quietly point you folks to Monsters and Other Childish Things.
Fairly relevant, though it's more about making the monsters fight than being D'awwtastic with them.
>>
>>20892551

I WOULD HAVE FOUND YOU AND KILLED YOU

...well, not really. But it wasn't half so fantastic
>>
>>20897320
Meh, I still liked it. I suppose it's not for everyone.

Nothing's for everyone. Today we will see someone who thinks Golem 6b was a bad story - those people always arrive around the second day of a tearjerky writefaggotry - and he has the right for his opinion as well.

A concept for a better writefag than I As well as more time

Party is tasked to go slay a legendary monster for the sake of some trial, similar to Hercules'.

Said monster lives in a remote area, supposedly with only a small monastic order to keep it sealed.

Party sets out to location, only to find a small village with a crumbling monastary inhabited by "the old one."

Party puts 2 and 2 together, goes to fight old one.

Old one is not only unbound, but is playing with a large group of children, with their mothers nearby.

Turns out the old monastic order was nearly wiped out years ago. One of the few children at the time freed the monster in return for it's loyalty and help.

The old one intended to go crazy once the child died since it would no longer be bound by it.

That was over 200 years ago.

Upon further investigation, the party will find an intact wall in the rear of the ruins covered with child-like drawings. In the center is an ancient and faded picture of the old one and a child. Surrounding it are newer pictures of children, sometimes playing with the old one.
>>
>>20903423
The paladin picks up a wooden sword and plays around with the old one a little, in the end "slaying" it as a child would, therefore passing the trial through technicality even though no one was hurt.

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but I thought I could be useful.

I combined both halves of the Golem 6b story plus the drawing into a single image and made it fit. I had to save it as a .gif to make it fit. Don't worry though, it's not animated. No surprises here. You're welcome folks.

Funny thing, the negative comments were on day one. As a guy who posted one of them, its not so much that I didnt dislike the story, I just found the reaction to it excessive in the extreme. I imagine the latecomers are the same way.

After seeing a thread bumped to the front page time and time again with nothing but pictures of crying faces, they check whats up, only to be massively underwhelmed.
>>
>>20922772
As the writer of Golem 6b, it's a tad strange to see it. The thread's archived, and has a 1d4chan page, so it doesn't need to be bumped anymore.

Sage for thread outliving it's purpose.
