As a member of the Commonwealth, I'm on the side of using Red and White for our uniform colours. Prussian Blue, eh not so much. But perhaps the Yotsuba B colours that /tg/ uses, well, we could work something out there?

It would probably work out as a light/sky blue with blue and white highlights.

That doesn't sound sane to me. Considering who we are, I would assume whoever made the swimsuits definitely wanted some direct application of cold.

I could see many a tale arising from this. Mayhaps a feastday dedicated to a particular fa/tg/uy who went off his rocker, grabbed as many meese, deer and horses as he could, then attached them to a chariot.

He could have led an assault on an impenetrable fortress. His coat stained red from all the blood. Heartily hollering. This lead to both his disappearance and the ensuing victory against this foe.

Now we feast as he did in his final moments among us, and leave him pastry goods to sate his sweet tooth.

Entry 17, 24th First Seed 3 A.A.
I have arrived at the Seat of the Dervikhim, one of the most famous, if not greatest, dwarven stronghold in the dwarven ranges. Here I am a guest to the Children of the Mountains, the dwarves who I find are an agreeable people. They like to keep out of trouble for the most part but are rather friendly to foreigners. Supplying the world with their ores and metal products requires a friendly word and a smile I suppose.

Before I forget, I had parted ways with the orc couple a few days since I first met them. I was witness to a duel between a Kitsune duelist and a High Orc blademaster. The orc won of course, but only enough to die a few minutes later. We had their graves dug off the side of the path, their swords crossed as markers. The female orc would later return for proper funeral rites but I didn't want to have to camp out there for up to a month just to witness it. I decided to come back after I've paid the dwarves a visit.

I had taken to polishing my long hard staff these past few days. It made from some kind of hardwood that I cannot name but I am certain that it will eventually be a thing of beauty. I must confess that my mind wandered back to the Kanin mother and daughter whenever I did. More and more I feel disappointed in not being able to recall what happened that night. Regardless I must be off, I hear Dorf Strongfast is returning and I need his maps.
>>
>>20830576
Entry 18, 30th First Seed
Arm with a map of the Misty Mountains, as the dwarves call it, I was able to plan a journey to the various strongholds that the dwarves had carved for themselves. I also mentioned the tale of a dead dwarven city buried under pyroclastic flow and molten rock to Strongfast but he shut up right up in the middle of his description of the holds. Perhaps there is something to this tale that I have not heard but perhaps they don't speak of it for a reason.

But enough about that, I was here to study dwarven religion, if there were any. It turns out they did and most of their worship is centred around mountains, the greatest of which they call Dervish, Mother of Mountains. Dervish is in fact their name for the world that we inhabit. Each mountain has its own personality which its children inherit. This is shorthand for each dwarven stronghold has its own culture and practices which makes up the stereotype for that specific stronghold.

A dwarf from Seat of the Dervikhim is considered knowledgeable and welcoming but behind his smile, he hides his plots and intrigue. Strongfast gave me that one for free, which reminds me, he's about to leave and so is his party so I'm off to another dwarven stronghold.

I shouldn't have been surprised that I was hunted down by a Harem Knight. Not only that but the reason for tracking me down was to deliver mail. Fair enough I thought. Then he told me to grit my teeth and clocked me in the jaw. Picking up the tooth that had fallen out, he mentioned that was the blow was from Adelaide and that the tooth was going be proof that he delivered. Before the knight left, he dropped a package on my head, saying that it was from Cynthia.

Strongfast and his friends were laughing about that the whole morning. I had to take the good with the bad I suppose. The package was a book, specifically the latest edition of “The Outrealmer's Guide to Indigenous Species” by Sir GearHeart. I didn't even realise it was missing at all as I had acquired a copy earlier this month when I was still in Castle Waifu. Cynthia was way too considerate for a man such as myself.

I also have met an elf, a diplomat I believe. There was an ebb and flow in dwarven-elven relations. They'd fight on and off as if it was like a tide. As we passed each other, he sneered and lobbed an insult at me in dwarven, no doubt recognising my consorting with the Harem Knight from earlier. One of my dwarven companions replied in the same language and the translation was, and I quote, “go back to worshipping yer dead granny elf.” Someday I hope to get the chance to ask an elf about their ancestor worship, if it was exactly as my dwarf friends had described.

Entry 20, 23rd Rain's Hand
It has been nearly a month since I started my tour of the dwarven strongholds. I've met the doughty dwarves of the Northern Vigil, the industrious ones from the Heart of the Forge and many more besides. What I find most fascinating from these holds are their unique sculpted reliefs which adorns the main corridor from the main entrance of the holds to the central hub. The wall sculptures not only denote history but also how the dwarves of that hold pay respect to the mountain and of course as a boast to their cultural achievement.

Even so, today I have received news that tore me away from witnessing drunk dwarves tear their enemies limb from limb. Adelaide was heavy with child, mine that is. There hasn't ever been a time that I dropped whatever I was doing so hard for though I may be a coward so far, I refuse to deny the responsibility of parenthood. I ride for TeeGee.

>Lilly's fun time story time. Takes place shortly after She and GearHeart escape from hell.

Well being contracted to this guy shouldn't be all bad. Seems like a nice enough guy. Tough and smart, has a castle and all this neat loot. I mean look at all this stuff. The magic sacks alone are worth a small fortune, but That's not really interesting. He said I could have a fair cut, nice of him since technically I am his slave according to Delmores Rite.

All these fun toys and beautiful clothes. Its the one nice thing about Hell their toys and clothes are like nothing else. Hey I remember these. One of Mistress Perrana's favorites, The leather straps feel good between you legs, but oh boy the peg in the back, I had a hard time sitting down for. I don't know how long, Succubi training was hard. I am glad I got out of there. Fun in moderation, but hellish in large amounts. Heheheh.

Oh look a throne of impalement. I remember my first time. Though I was going to be split in half. Especially when the back peg and the front one started pulling in opposite directions. Ooh on a funner note I always did like the look of some of the lacy things the higher ranking Mistresses wore. And now I have my own collection, a large one to. To bad I don't have anyone to share it with. Well there is James but he seems like a decent normal guy, not likely to go a long with something like this. I thought as I examined a metal belt with some nasty features.

I did it, I finally did it. Sometimes, when I wake up in his arms, I have to smack myself to make sure I’m not still sleeping. I finally became Lem Fearghaile’s waifu, well at least in name. The ceremony’s not til next year, but that doesn’t matter, I did it. And I have no idea what to do now that I did.

I feel like the Kanin that actually caught the courier. I’ve been chasing Lem for so long I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do with him.

Well, I mean other than THAT. More like, there’s nothing between us now, and no, I mean more than physically~

Lem stirred and opened his eyes to mine gazing into his. “‘Morn’n, sleepyhead.”

“‘Morn’n, Sunshine, want me to go get breakfast?” he started to get up

“Nope, I can make it,” I put a hand on his chest, keep him from getting up and instead got out myself. I made sure to give my ass a good jiggle as I was going out the door. If that’s not gonna give him morning wood, I don’t know what is.

I never thought that getting all the looks we do would make me so giddy. Maybe it’s just I was wearing a skirt for the first time in forever, something from the Kanin, a kilt I think they call it. Lem says I look good in it.

Anyway, after that first morning, I swear, every person who saw us made a double take, a few people hoot’n and cheering out for us, a couple of people cursing and tearing up small slips of paper, but thankfully after the first day or two that calmed down. If it didn’t, the festival would have been unbearable. Instead it got more interesting: we ran into Lilly, Meina, and Jim. I’m not gonna bore you of the fine details, but man, Lilly’s got some really crazy ideas. I don’t know how Jim keeps up with the two of them. Still, I was walking away slightly red in the face. Suppose that’s what I get for talking with a succubus, but she did say something that caught my attention while Lem and Jim were talking.

“Man, I’m kind of envious of your skill”

“Huh?”

“I don’t think I could get into Lem’s pants even if I was evil.”

“Hey, don’t talk about Lem like that. You’ve got Jim and Meina, not enough for you?” Honestly, I sometimes forget that Lilly’s a succubus. That’s a bad habit to have.
>>
>>20832764
“Not what I mean. Lem’s about as seducible as his armor. I could dance in front of him butt naked succubus powers on full and the only discomfort he’d experience would be from me embarrassing myself. You on the other hand, can make that guy melt like an Ice Elemental in hell. Trust me, I’ve seen it. Honestly, I thought he was gay until we had our little girls’ night out.”

“Hey, don’t be like that. Well maybe he’s just too good a person to fall for your wiles.”
“Maybe, or he’s got a will of steel that only you managed to worm into. Go ahead, ask him something dirty about someone else and then you.”

“Right now?”

“Sure!”

“No, that’s silly.”

“Alright, suit yourself, but I’m telling ya, he’s wrapped around your finger and you don’t even know it~.”

“Does anyone hear the sounds of bells nearby?” Lem said out of the blue

“Oops, gotta go save Meina”
>>
>>20832772
After we parted ways, I hung close to Lem. “You know, Meina hangs a bell on her ladyparts.”

“Huh, that so? Well, I guess it makes sense.”

“T-that’s kind of a muted reaction”

“Eh, what those girls do is their own business I suppose. Good for Jim I guess that they’re sensual.” He said it in the most deadpan way I could imagine someone ever talking about erotic body piercings.

I let it drop for a bit and we just walked down the path a bit in silence. “Hey Lem...”

“Hmm?”

“I can feel a certain someone’s liquid flowing down my leg...”

It took a second, but to say that took Lem off guard would be an understatement. He nearly tripped and fell flat on his face. “Nine Divines, Kikki, where’d that come from?”

I found myself smiling mischievously. “Hey, you’re the only one here making a big deal that I’m not wearing any underwear.” His muscles were tensing pretty splendidly to keep his composure.

“N-not... why?”

“Well, those things are damned uncomfortable when they’re wet~” It looked like Lem was catching on that I was toying with him though, because he swiftly brought his hand up under my kilt and pinched a bit of bare buttox. It was my turn to go red. “Hey, are we here for the festival or what?”

“You started it,” he said through narrowed eyes.

Needless to say, we didn’t stay very long that day. Looks like I’m as wrapped around his finger as he is mine, and that’s just the way I like it.

Then I saw the very first thing I ever remember seeing. A dark red pair of high heels. I had woken up on the ground with one of these nearly crushing my neck. The Mistress standing over me wearing nothing but heels and a frown. Not a pleasant memory. Choking and confused, all the while this bitch was yelling at me how she now owned me. How I had sold my soul and that she had come to collect. That I was her new plaything and I would do as she wanted or... else.

"Hey, you all right? Your kind of spacing out."

"Just remembering things."

"Bad things I take it."

"Yeah, real bad things."

"I know we just met and that you have no reason to trust me. Especially after making you my slave. Which is what I wanted to talk to you about, I can't stand slavery and as such I release you from your contract."
>>
>>20832894
"That is nice and all, but I don't think I can really go anywhere. What with aiding a prisoner in escape. So your stuck with me now and since I am released then there is nothing stopping me from having my way with you."

"If that is what you want, but is that what you really want. It does not take a genus to figure out that you don't like what you are."

"What do you mean? I like who I am, the power, the fun, the..."

"Loneliness, the feeling that you could be doing something better. Cause face it, if you were fully gone we would not be having this conversation. There is a part of you that wants out. You may refuse to admit it but that is between you and yourself. All I know is that I am here to talk to if you need me. This castle is a big place, More than enough room for two. I'll let you be, but if you want to talk I won't be far."

"Um... Thanks.. for you know, releasing me from the contract. I really don't want to relive that."

And then he walked out the door leaving me alone in a empty room full of junk. It all felt so empty. I got up out of the pile of loot and ran after him, I wasn't ready to talk. But it would be nice to have someones thoughts on how I looked in this little black dress.

Now for part two of my character's introductory story!
>>
>>20833329

“Thank you for telling me this. What are you going to do now?”
“I was thinking of joining the Harem Knights. We’re also looking for a more permanent place to stay. Would you happen to know who we should talk too?”
“Sir Giovanni can help you with the knight part. I’m not too sure about who to talk to for housing though.”
“Thank you for your help.”
“Thank you for everything!”
We leave the inn and head towards the castle.
>>
>>20833333

Once inside the castle, we only had to ask directions from two people before finding Sir Giovanni. They pointed us towards a worn stairwell and said that Giovanni would be in the office at the top.

We enter the office and see Giovanni sitting behind a large oak desk, looking rather bored. The desk has papers and inkwells scattered across it. I look around at the bookshelves on the walls; noticing that the upper shelves seem to have been void of books for a very long time, covered in dust and cobwebs, while the lower ones are filled with records. He looks up with a smile when I begin talking.
>>
>>20833337

“Hello, are you Sir Giovanni? I’m Kuro and this is Belle. We came here because we were told that you could help us with joining the Harem Knights.”
“Well, you are in the right place. If you want to join our order, you will first need to find a knight who is willing to sponsor you; we discourage our knights from sponsoring anyone who has yet to prove themselves worthy of joining our order. And if that weren’t enough, even after sponsorship, you’re subject to a vetting process that will end when we say so. It’s not an easy path, and while many are called, few are chosen.”
“Then what can we do while waiting to join the Knights?”
>>
>>20833342

“If you plan on staying in TeeGee on a more permanent basis, you’ll have to go through some of the little bureaucratic things, and since we have a housing shortage, due to the large amount of people settling down around Castle Waifu, you’ll also need a trade in order to get more than the most basic of living accommodations.” He seemed apologetic. It really couldn’t be helped.
“Someone said that you were the captain of the Homeguard while we were searching for you. Is it possible for us to join that?”
>>
>>20833349

“Yes, which is why I said you’ve come to the right place, but I’m not sure, do you have prior skill with a sword or bow?”
“I do have some skill with my weapons, though I wouldn’t call myself the best. Belle is far better than I am; she never had to hold back during our sparring sessions.”
“If you were the best, I would send you to Sir Dustyn to work with the Blades” Giovanni said with a chuckle. He took out a piece of paper and a quill. “Go see my lieutenants and give them this after you’re all settled with your paperwork. We’ll see what you’re made of and then assign you, understood?” The Captain finished his scrawl, rolled, sealed it, and then handed it over.
>>
>>20833353

“Thank you. You know who we should talk to about getting a place to stay, or could you help us with that too?”
“That’s part of the paperwork. Second door on the left from the main atrium. It may take a day or so to find you a place, so please bear with us. If that’s all, you’re dismissed. I hope to see you again soon.”
“Again, thank you for your help.” I turn and head out the door of his office.
“Oh, and one more thing,” Giovanni called from some paperwork he had taken out. “Most of the Homeguard are men, so a fair warning to any unwanted ‘popularity’ you two might accrue.”
“Unwanted ‘popularity’? I’ll watch for that. Don’t want anyone taking Belle from me.”
>>
>>20833356

“I more worried about you.” Belle says.
We start heading towards the office Sir Giovanni pointed to. “Now we have something to do and a place to stay. You happy that we won’t have to live in the inn?”
“I kind of liked it there. Brian’s fun to talk too, and the cinnamon rolls. I wish they had more...”
“We could ask how to make them, if you love them so much.”
“That’s a great idea! Hey, lets go to the market when we finish here. Brian said something about running out of cinnamon, maybe they can make us some more rolls if we get them some cinnamon.”
“Just don’t spend all our money.” Belle grabs onto my arm with a smile as we enter the office.
>>
>>20833372

And that's everything.
Special thanks to Sir Giovanni and Sir Feargaile.

>>
I've been working on a cure for the petrified Sir Iris.

The magicpower required to reverse petrification is, quite frankly, huge. Nothing short of divine aid can reverse it completely. That is why the knights, as well as a distraught gorgon and her young daughter have to an old golem maker that the harem knights have decided to nickname Dorfl to bring him back.

Process has been slow, although the soul and the body are already one, I am incapable of altering the stone form to permit easier enchantment without destroying the connection and killing him permanently. Petrified flesh is also quite different from ordinary granite, most of my usual techniques are returning no results. I still have hope though, that gorgon's story of the werewolf proves that he's at least partially capable of golemic activity, all I have to do is make that activity easier for him.

...That just makes it sound so easy doesn't it?

I figured I'd try my hand at the uniform. I still think red looks snappier, even without any of the connotations associated with it (even I admit the British Empire were pretty gigantic pricks most of the time), but if we're going to go with a Yotsuba B colour scheme, I figured I'd base it off the actual Yotsuba, rather than the board.

Can hardly blame us. Making the play park is half the fun, but the other half is playing in it.

>>
>>20836318
That's Yotsuba A. If we were going with that, I would be DIZZY with happiness.

>>20836353
The point of a uniform is that it's uniform. There's a good deal of psychological implication to it, including intimidating the enemy and breeding 'espirit de corps' between the troops. Given our military doctrine is based VERY heavily around units working together and the whole being greater than the sum of its parts, it's very important that we make everyone feel unified. This is especially important given that our armed forces are made up of so many different races. War is about more than knowing how to kill the enemy. You have to know the guys/girls next to you know how to as well and you have to know you can trust them to watch your flanks and look out for you.
>>
>>20836422
Uniformity is all well and good, but uniforms are only uniform in a general sense. You always had units with fairly major differences between them and everyone else(see grenadier regiments). The better part of espirit de corps is rivalry between various units or unit types.

Our units would have uniformity in their equipment, which will be most of our combat kit for non-officers(who will be wearing capes or animal pelts) anyway, so it'd only be the colors going with them that would be different.

Besides, they train with everyone else at least 2 months a year, so they already know everyone else is competent.
>>
>>20836543

I'm glad the Homeguard isn't quite so uniform.

Inquisitor Rabello was once the fiercest right hand of justice the Church of Myrther had ever produced, most notable for his many successful crusades against the Fey. No other servant of the Church could claim such prowess, and the start of his campaign began with the capture and interrogation of a Fey Lord, found in the ruins of one of their feared Silver Ships.

Though the Fey did not respond to previous inquisitors, or hot iron, screws and the cat, Inquisitor Rabello was known to have dealt with the Journals of Clover, a fact the Fey reacted to. And so Rabello was assigned. Recorded by the most learned scribes, the confessions have been studied by many for the psychology of the Fey.

Fey:
Hail to the Chief that is chosen for this station
Hail to the Chief, we salute him one and all!

Inquisitor:
Hail Myrthter.

Fey:
Hail Vectron! Hail, sleet, rain and frost. Atmospheric conditions indicate overnight showers and heavy cloud cover the following morning-

Inquisitor:
You are a Fey. Not any Fey, but a Lord. A Lord of Madness.

Fey:
We are Fey, yes. A Lord, too, inasmuch Fey hierarchy is understood by mortals. Madness; we have in large quantities. But do not mistake possession for mastery, as we did when we first pried that [untranslatable] book from that beggar's hands.

>>20837138
Inquisitor:
You speak of the Journals. You will tell us everything you know.

Fey:
We speak of, from, and about the Journals. To tell a mortal mind as yours all we know of the Journals would require years and words your feeble and inexpressive language has no concepts for. You could not begin to understand the Journals as a Fey does.

Inquisitor:
Stop wasting my efforts. Dungeon master! Bring your tools and your practise! We shall see if mortals understand Iron still brings pain to Fey flesh.

{...}

Fey:
Well, that was a nice exercise in futility. Worked off all that anger now have you? His daughter will fall ill in childbirth, his son will fall in battle a hero, his wife peacefully in her sleep.

Inquisitor:
The Dungeon Master is unmarried and childless, loathsome Fey. Why do you not break under black iron! Is this what the Journals taught you? Invulnerability?

Fey:
That was a demonstration of the famous Fey temporal discontinuity, though more pronounced due to our, "condition". As for your second question, dear Rabello, the Journals have let us ignore hated Iron for a much, more, painful, feeling.

Inquisitor:
And what could that object do that Myrthter blessed Iron can not? Answer! What weapon do the Fey fear more!

Fey:
As always, and forevermore, the greatest weapon against all foes is...

Knowledge.

Fey:
~Oh, say can you see, by the starlight's last gleaming
Deity save our monarch, oh so happy and beaming~

Inquisitor:
Hail Myrther, foul Fey.

Fey:
Hail yourself, mortal mortal.

Inquisitor:
You last spoke of the Journals as a weapon against the Fey. Our greatest and most pious scholars have challenged that claim and found no such instruction. Is it a unique weakness to your race, or is it "knowledge we have no concept for".

Fey:
We give ourselves such titles, Lord and Lady, Seel and Unseel. One Fey will burn as easily as another, and that book is a masterpiece. Written in simple words that any race could understand, hiding such powerful and wondrous thoughts in plain sight. Like handing a fully cocked sword to a babe, or fire to a fish.

{...}

We say, looketh at our face. Is it not identical to that of our cousins, haughty elves, high and low? How could mortals believe for so long that Fey was separate from Fey ?

Inquisitor:
I tire of your nonsense. How does this relate to "concepts mortals have no words for"?

Fey:
You are no doubt aware that wizards and scholars of the arcane are not all there. Enlightened, illuminated, envisioned, drunk, name it as you will. The book had a trap, one that only Fey can see, and feel, and suffer.

>>20837170
Inquisitor:
Cease your endless stalling and twofold words! What does wizardry hold in relation to the Fey!

Fey:
Nothing. Wizards can hold concepts that mortals cannot far better, and with that as the yardstick, the writer was a wizard without calibre, or madman with a pen. The reverse is true. Would it surprise you that mortals can comprehend and discover concepts alien to the alien? It's happened, happens, will happen once and again.

Inquisitor:
Ideas and beliefs are anathema to the Fey? Then why fall under the steel blades of brave knights with equal ease to the wizard's spells or the priest's blessings?

Fey:
The Shallow Death, the mortal death, is one that offers Fey no harm in mortal realms, the fallen merely await repetition. To fell Fey with the Twofold Death, the immortal death, one must venture to Fey realms and strike, but still they live in the past. Few weapons can grant the Threefold Death, the true death, and that book is one. Which is why the Fey deigned to hunt the writer to the ends of the realm.

Inquisitor:
What threat could Clover possibly pose the full might of the Wilde Hunt?

Fey:
DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT NAME! I have lost too many Fey to that madness, even before setting sail to that [untranslatable] island through space, [untranslatable] and time!

Fey:
...and no Silver Ship could pass that veil as easily as a mortal's, and I damn my Queen forever, naming me seer of madness and tasking strong Fey to oblivion. The treasure of Obsidos I had to reach and became careless-

Inquisitor:
Not that this isn't highly amusing to hear, as I've noticed you've slipped into first person, but what treasure could surpass Eternal Youth?

Fey:
[Expunged]. Very well. Gold shines and dulls, artwork enraptures and wears, moons wax and wane, but knowledge, once learnt, is eternal.

Inquisitor:
That being...?

Fey:
First. Magic.

{...}

Fey:
(Chuckles) First magic can not be bound to any language by subject, object, syntax. It's "words" can flow and change around will and context, transcendant. It "can" be bound by mathematical operators where the strength of consecutive symbols will vary arithmetically, geometrically, exponentially, logarithmically, repeatedly...Not that you would know anything about differential engines, higher order-

Inquisitor:
I command you! Still your wizard tongue, lest I still it will hot irons, and speak plainly!

Fey:
First Magic would break the Fey economy! The grail of sorcery! The end all and be all of warping reality. The- (Sigh) It is very valuable. Especially to Fey.

Inquisitor:
Aren't you going to mangle tenses?

Fey:
First Magic IS. I consumed the Journal's knowledge, and it is my curse.

Inquisitor:

Fey:
Hail mirth, my torturer!

Inquisitor:
You mentioned a Wilde Hunt declared against Obsidos ere we last spoke. What became of it?

Fey:
Ah, so the monkey is curious. But does the monkey really want to know what journey can break Silver Ships and the will of a Fey Lord?

Inquisitor:
Try me.

Fey:
That, dear mortal, is Numberwang! Many voyages west were doomed from conception, this Wilde Fleet was no exception. To the folly of Fey, our crewman were kin, no racial diversity to save our skin. The storms were braved, the tides were turned, the great maw dodged as red waters churned. Our fault was simple, to midjudge our foe, as Fae after Fae faced the beasts below.

Inquisitor:
I know the songs sung of Fey prowess in combat. As many warriors as you say would have no trouble against any living beast, in any environment.

Fey:
Too true, the Wilde Hunt fells any living beast they encounter. Any Living Beast.

Inquisitor:
Dread Walkers patrol the western routes? What necromancer could conquer the seas?

Fey:
You misunderstand, naive mortal. What your language fails to account for, is that the guardian beast was never alive.

nquisitor:
What of it? No machine is without fault. And one thing that is certain of the Fey, they can widen any crack and exploit any weakness.

Fey:
Not to the First Magic. Not to skin that burns our eyes and sunder our blades. Not to songs that shake our being and crack our minds as easily as a mortal cracks an egg. Effortlessly, exquisitely, unintentionally, which is the greatest insult to Fey might that ever existed. The guardian's purpose was not built to eradicate the Fey. Four Ships were lost in one chorus, as Fey mind turned to dust, and Fey blades turned on Fey, by which I mean infighting.

{...}

Fey:
...not even Fey are slow to learn from their mistakes. Flags were raised and paths steered away from deep worm sign, but the exposure had its toll. The survivors, tall and proud Fey who took many trophies, were now shambling wrecks, deafened by words that warped the world in ways Fey never thought permissible. Mortal minds are truly a dangerous thing.

Inquisitor:
But the fleet returned did it not? You were captured near the ruins of many a hull. Were you successful in your acquisition?

Fey:
Acquire? Silly mortal, what ever gave you that impression? The Wilde Hunt was not sent for trophies or playthings. We were sent to destroy the island.

Fey:
I tell you now as I told them then, I would have burnt down every tree and book I saw on that island, and sunk its gutted corpse beneath the earth before I let mortals touch another scrap of First Magic. Alas, we never cleared that lofty goal, Fey minds proved too fragile to such an unforeseen and potent assault.

Inquisitor:
There was a mutiny.

Fey:
There was a mutiny. Unheard of in Hunts past, but so was First Magic, and it was kryptonite to our unit cohesion. We were close enough to smell the foul fruit of life, hear the birdsong of eight nought, and spit on the Rusty shores, when Fey turned upon Fey, for fear the island would swallow us whole in First Magic flames, bringing the Threefold death to all, and glory to none.

Inquisitor:
Yet you lived, and returned to native shores.

Fey:
(Grimace) As punishment for leading the Hunt poorly, I was sentenced to consume the Journal and its knowledge in its entirety, and live. A breathing testament to Fey cruelty.

Inquisitor:
To be forced to learn words that burn minds and cast out into the uncaring world, mad and starved. Truly a punishment only the Fey could envision.

Fey:
Your unlearned tongue fails you again, fool mortal. I did not just read the Journal. I ate it.

Fey:
By eating an object, Fey can know its nature, history and future. I can no longer suffer the Shallow, nor the Twofold death, not while First Magic burns in my body. (Sigh) I have a task, no, favour to ask of you mortal. Do this for me and I will tell you the identity of the hated writer.

Inquisitor:
You mean Clover?

Fey:
Don't test my generosity with that mnemonic activator, your neuroreceptors can't handle its memetics. I'm just so tired, so very tired. How's about this? I'll also tell you how to bring the Shallow Death to all Fey that hunt in your lands, and I swear thrice-bound it is true.

Rabello:
Very well, I'll honour your wish.

{...}

Fey:
The iron casket prepared, bind with chain and weld shut. Take it far north and give it to the dwarves and their Heart of the Mountain. Have wizard and priest present to destroy, utterly annihilate the box when lowered into the burning earth. I go to my Threefold Death knowing my revenge is not in vain. Thank you my friend. Thanks for the memories. No Fey hand penned the Journals of Clover

And with that, the Fey Lord was consumed, destroyed by rock, fire, iron and prayer. Several priests had presented the confessions as grounds for Rabello's excommunication. The Holy-on-High overturned all claims.

No, it was quite there, I'm just not sure you managed to get that idea of power, that the Fey had all the power in that negotiation. It was almost there, but not quite as playful with Rabollo when he didn't understand something. He most certainly didn't get captured because of the skill of his pursuers, he got captured because he wanted to and slowly gave information as his price for deliverance to his threefold death (I like that concept for Fey very much btw, AND that it had to be done in the hottest holy fires of the Dwarven mountains).

Well yeah, considering how powerful the Fey are, the idea that a mortal could "capture" one without the Fey letting them is utterly hilarious for most. There are some powerful enough I suppose, but it would take some level of magic unheard of by most.

On that note, I've been developing this shout/word of power magic, and I was thinking of mixing in some Truenaming from the 3.5 Tome of Magic splat. Would it be too much to consider it a very rudimentary (but still effective) form of First Magic? Perhaps practiced by seclusive Dwarf Hermits at the peaks of their most holy mountains? Or perhaps the center of the yet undiscovered Dark Elf shamanism? Or would that make it OP?

Wary to be sure. Such a mountain is sure to be holy, but that black obsidian is a bad omen, and to cross the seas would be against the better judgement of a Dwarf. Perhaps those Dwarven hermits (Scryers and Oracles) I mentioned could be the keepers of such knowledge and its dangers?

A fun thing that I've noticed when speaking of the island is that no one, or so I've checked has said the real word for Mountain of Light. There was a near miss when dwarf holds were mentioned.

Just goes to show that there aren't counterparts for everything in fantasy land.

I recall the first time I took all of my children with me on an expedition. Mitchal was naturally excited since he was eager to show me what he could do, owing to my handing his training off to another of the order’s knights. Dusk, Gwynavere, and Juniper had all previously served with me on various trips, as had Amanda, who had taken it upon herself to act as the caravan master, a task that myself and many of my order had long learned was essential to the success of any endeavor that traveled more than a day or two from the city, which was to say most of them.

Melena and Bethany had insisted on coming as well, something I could attribute to worry, I suppose, but it was largely unwarranted. We weren’t alone, with a dozen other knights-errant, a precaution our order had taken to prevent thieves from nicking our valuables on the return trip, or worse, a bandit clan attempting to overrun us, something one failed expedition had fallen prey to. They had been avenged and the riches recovered, but the damage had been done, but I get ahead of myself.
>>
We were en route to an old burial mound, one rumored to have contained an ancient elven king, but it was deep within human lands, so at the time I doubted the chances of offending the elves and their delicate sensibilities. The location itself had been confirmed by some of the locals who were too afraid to go near the place. Many a fool had ventured in and not returned, but then the same was usually said of such ruins, along with them being haunted, and a multitude of other things they all seemed to have in common.

You’d think these people would have better ways of describing places like this, but then I suppose “haunted ancient elven monster-infested deathtrap” did sum up a great many places, well that or “man-eating monster din,” but that’s another story.

Our group arrived at the site in good order and established our campsite near enough to the entrance that we could keep an eye on it, but far enough away that the tents wouldn’t get in the way if we needed to beat a hasty retreat, another trick we had learned over the years.

I had noted during the several weeks journey that several of the younger knights had taken a keen interest in my daughters. While I won’t fault the lads for it, I was young once too after all, I still gave a number of them rather stern looks. I wasn’t ready to let my little girls go just yet, what with the oldest only being eighteen; I was determined to make sure their prospective suitors understood this. I only wanted the best for them, after all, and what lad would be worthy if he couldn’t get past a few hard glares?

My son, on the other hand, seemed to be getting on rather well with the two female errants, especially Mary, an older human with red hair. I should have warned him about the dangers of older women, especially with how much she flirted with the boy, but what father would I be if I did?

My guess about where this would go was not disappointed when one night I overheard a conversation from her tent while everyone else was drinking and relaxing.

“JUST JAM IT IN!” followed by a brief pause then a response of “not following you…”

Poor lab had a shocked look on his face the next day, but she seemed rather pleased with herself. Melena and Bethany didn’t quite get why I found this so amusing, just shaking their heads and muttering something about “crazy outrealmers.” My daughters questioned the change in their brother as well, but I just shook my head and told them to ask their mothers.

The burial mound itself was nothing particularly special, and aside from a few magical traps, none of which were fatal, there wasn’t much special about it. The burial chambers held a few treasures, but nothing spectacular. A few sets of ceremonial armor, one of which Dusk claimed, some enchanted weapons, and a number of books the librarian might find interesting, but little else of real worth. Enough to make the trip worth it, but not exactly the kind of haul one retires after either.

Well, the classic response here is gold and precious gems. Very iconic horde for a dragon.
Necklace(s). Have a gemstone pendant sort of thing attached to either the longest or the shortest, not one of the in-betweens.
Ring(s). Probably just solid gold. Rings adorned with diamonds and whatnot tend to be indicative of marriage, but if you really want to they can have things on them. Just don't go overboard.
Bracelets. It's possible to have them studded with gems, but I think it looks tacky. Solid gold, maybe silver. Maybe both intertwined. Same for anklets.
That's all that comes to my mind.
>>
I keep having these great ideas, but none of them would mesh well with the current setting. I want to write of glorious battles and truly epic things, but I can't make that happen here. I've written probably 10 or so 10,000 word stories on the side of my sparse writings here.
>>
>>20841330
You could always set them in the future. I'm sure someone is going to get mad enough to attack us openly at one point or another.
>>
>>20841350

Only if a consensus could be made on how far in the future we would need to go. I did not create this setting, so I would want everyone to be happy with whatever I wrote.
>>
>>20841390

Could change the names and say it's a collection of stories Giovanni wrote in his spare time.

Hmm. I couldn't really see us surviving an all out war without a large army. However, to become a full kingdom would take at LEAST a few decades.

>>
>>20841466

>>
>>20841330
>>20841350
>>20841390
Well, the biggest problem is resources. If we were attacked to early, we'd be wiped out, but the larger and more powerful we grow, the less palpable we are to attack, so to be frank, large scale war isn't really in the cards for this setting. However...

>>20841419
I like this idea, it kind of reminds me of McGee from NCIS and his mystery novel series which he writes without the rest of the NCIS team knowing. This way you can have your cake and eat it too along with a healthy dose of cornball bravado.
>>
>>20841504

Has to be two rings. They have to match or go together in some way too.
>>
>>20841510

That could be promising really. I wouldn't mind creating some characters and stuff within the story that Giovanni could write about. It would be sort a triple layer self imposition, but hell, might as well try.

One silver and one gold? Not entirely matching, but they kinda go together.
Going off of the bracelet idea from earlier, you could have each ring be a band of silver and a band of gold twisted around each other.
Or you could go with the traditional, gold ring with diamond/sapphire/whatever you want.
Or maybe tail rings?

This hasn't been a very busy thread overall. Looks like I likely won't be stepping on any toes.

New entry
I should've seen it coming. It was so obvious. How did I miss that? It only makes sense that a society of women growing up around women don't really have a concept of marriage or unions or anything like that. That was a heck of an explanation. It happened just a few minutes ago, so it's still fresh on my mind. I had gone to her room to ask her about all this. I started by asking her if she would like to move away to /tg/ with me and live with me as my waifu. In response, I got a ton of questions.
"Waifu? What's that?"
"It's just another word for wife. We'll be married and live together and all that entails."
"Married? So what's that?"
"Well, it's a bit complicated to fully explain. We live together."
"But we already do."
"On our own. We support each other wherever and however we can."
"But we already do."
"I know, we kinda do, but it's different."
"Different how?"
"Well...I'm not totally sure. I've never had to explain this before. But we'd be off on our own without the rest of the community here to cover for us."
"That sounds more difficult than it needs to be."
"Not finished yet. We'll live together, make our own home. I'll be there every night if you want someone to sleep next to or if you just want a hug. And if you want me to sing you something, I'll be there to do that for you. Probably don't want to do that too often, you'll eventually get bored with my voice."
"Uh huh. You're good at making this sound nice, and I may not do as much thinking as you, but I'm not stupid. What do I have to do in this?"
"Heck if I know. It's not something I've done before."
"You're not convincing me to go with your idea here."
>>
>>20846201
"Well, how about this? When that timer in your head goes off and you feel it's time to have a kid, instead of going off in whatever direction and taking all kinds of indescribable risks, you come talk to me about it. Later on, we'll raise that kid together."
"Not bad. Need to go a little further than that."
"How about I turn to you for any milk needs? I can't really tell you anything else beyond that. We'll have to figure out your end of the deal the hard way."
Annya was shifting around a bit by this point. I wasn't sure if it was the good kind of shifting where she's leaning towards my proposal or if it was the kind where she was just getting uncomfortable standing for so long, but I decided I just needed something fantastic to say right there, a good line to just win her over right there. Then it hit me. A moment of clarity that showed me exactly what I needed to say.
Ha, proposal. That wasn't intentional.
"Before you decide, I've got one more point to drive across. I'm gonna pull out the big guns for this one."
"Big guns? What are guns?"
"Slip of the tongue, it's a phrase where I was from. Don't worry about it. Get ready for this one, it'll be good."
Had to incorporate body language somehow, that's how you really drive a point home, that's how you make your sell. So I turned around, cleared my throat, turned back to face Annya, and put a hand on her shoulder. It's a bit of a reach, but I managed.
>>
>>20846208
"You becoming my waifu, us forming this relationship, is like a promise, a vow. To have and to hold you from this day forward. For better or for worse, richer or poorer, in good times and bad, in joy and sorrow, in sickness and in health. A promise to laugh with you, cry with you, and to trust and respect you until death do us part."
I let go of her shoulder. Can't overstay the welcome, have to let go to indicate the spiel has ended.
"I'll let you think about it. Let me know when you have an answer."
A smile, a nod, and a backwards walk out of her room. Have to have a good finisher for these kinds of things. So I'm sitting here. Waiting. Writing. Still can't entirely believe I went off the deep end like that, but I did. Might as well get used to it and get ready for whatever answer this way comes.

Well, why don't you wait for these Dwarven mystics are more fleshed out by me and Bhikkhu? Then you'll be sure of what's appropriate.
>>
Anyone want to look over my story for glaringly obvious mistakes that I probably made?

Might work. As for description, his beard will be long and white, and his eyes might glow solid, as in without pupils. Also, ritual tattoos.

Gearheart and I have something pretty solid lined up. If you guys though that last bit I posted was good, I think you'll all like this one.

Great!
Top it off with some crazy-style earth-bending and it's good to go.
Now to write why they fight is a different matter.
Yes, I just set up a fight scene as the climax of philosophical debate

Eh, don't let it go TOO far out of countrol. Remember, shout/word magic can be subtle as well.

Karrigan had long dreamed of becoming a successful merchant, an endeavor I assisted with as much as possible, helping her set up both a shop and establish trade caravans with our neighbors the gnomes, halflings, and dwarves. She had such energy and drive in her youth, taking to the idea of capitalism with great enthusiasm, especially when she was able to, through various contacts, turn a tidy profit from selling wares made by the various monster races that people in the upper levels of the nobility wouldn’t have considered because they were made by “subhumans,” a term I’m still puzzled at since many of these “subhumans” are more capable at a number of things than their human counterparts.

Silk clothing made by the spider-folk is particularly prized, as were a few of the Gnomish trinkets and artifacts we brought to market, especially those with magical properties. She never did have the resources to gain a truly substantial share of the market on such things, the Felin and outside merchants having too much of a head start on her for that, but she never once backed down from such challenges.

I remember shortly after we married I gave her the money for the shop…she looked like a little girl who had just been given a pony for Christmas. It might have cost most of my savings and loot up to that point, but what kind of knight would I be if I didn’t do just that for my waifu?

Poor Bethany saw this and grew more than a little jealous, but then again I treated her as a little sister at the time. She still lived in the same house as us, but nothing was made official later on, much like Melena, except she was still a child.

I have ever done everything within my power to make life better for my harem and my children, short of breaking the law, of course. Could I have had a bigger house or nicer things had I done things otherwise? Perhaps, but what kind of life would I have had if I didn’t?

I love your little slice of life entries, great stuff!
>>
>>20850125
I try.

Listening to Sabaton while typing keeps making me want either a war or major border skirmish to write on though, but alas, the general consensus is against it for now.
>>
>>20850180
Would it be appropriate writing music for dwarven fight scenes? Just taking a break to eat dinner over here.
>>
>>20850180
Same here mate.

Im listening to Dos Gringos at the moment, at it really fucking sucks that I can't write a story about being a fighter pilot. GODS DAMMIT!
>>
Anyone have a flying waifu capable of carrying a man they wouldn't mind me using briefly to save a waifu?

Currently hacking away at my story, does anyone else mind the depiction of dwarves as being from Dwarf Fortress?

Also depicting the dwarven holy men as a cross between shaolin monks, old viking elders, and Yoda.
>>
>>20851336
I would wait for Fearghaile and Bhikkhu to depict much dwarf stuff. They have something big in the works for them.
>>
>>20851398
Very well.

I await their collaboration.

In the meanwhile, I'll write it up and then edit out the bits that don't fit.
>>
>>20851336
There's a distinct Oracle of Delphi vibe I've been working in. And Dwarves were always Roman as I saw them, just without the whole conquest thing, but dorf fortress was another thing definitely referenced.
>>
>>20851480
Not to sound too picky, but can I assume the stuff will completed by tomorrow?

Iff true:
Goto sleep

Elseiff false:
Nobody can stop me now! Mwahahah! (kidding)
>>
>>20851496
No idea. Probably not the dorf stuff. Go ahead and post, and if it's really too out there, we can crop that up to being One Dwarf mystic being the silly exception to the rule.

I want to write something else, but I'm not sure where to go now.

Maybe I should just do up a rough timeline and fill in the blanks from there.

I hate writer's block sometimes.
>>
>>20851532

Can you look over my current story again?
>>
>>20851532
Two.

This is a fight between dwarfs over personal philosophies.
Directed by Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich.
Choreographed by Jackie Chan and Gang Wu.
In technicolor!

(While being retold through wall carvings)
>>
Poor Fearghaile, the poor guy is probably helping half ta dozen people with their stuff by now.
>>
>>20851651
At least he doesn't haven't help me. My problems go beyond helping.

Hey, if anyone finds a work ethic lying around, I'll pay you for it! I'll even settle for second-hand!
>>
>>20851651
He's got a finger in every pie. He's almost ruined my perfect tarte au citron but I now know a good way to get back at him.
>>
>>20851693

Work ethic? What's that?
>>
>>20851825
I know, right? I have enough of one to show up to work, but that's about it.
>>
If no one has any objections, I came up with some anthems for the Fey and Demons at least.

The Fey have Star Studded Sovereign (few lyrics previewed)
The Demons have Rule Miasma.
And I'll come up with more when I mangle other countries songs.
>>
>>20851871
Never mind, they'll only show up as cameos in my pieces anyway.

Off to bed for me!

Anyone know of something else I should add to this for the time being?
>>
>>20852452

Nothing that I know of.

Thinking of writing in the style of an interview, kind of reflecting on the past.
Also thinking of doing this from a villainous kind of character, someone there ultimately to be despised.
Y/N?
