One and a half years ago, you were a Magical Girl.

And you did all your Magical Girling with a chainsaw.

A weaponized chainsaw to be exact - one that's over two meters long, weighs approximately ten kilograms and has two rows of monomolecular chainteeth. It's painted nearly completely in black, save for some ostentatious golden bits here and there. The handle is wrapped in thick leather to make for an easier grip, and is capped by a screaming demon skull.

Its name is Skulltaker, and with it you have ended the lives of men, women, Witches and Magical Girls.
>>
>>20809974

It has three settings. KILL, the first and default setting, has both rows of chainteeth moving in the same direction for a cleaner, quicker cut. MAIM, the second, has the two rows chewing air in opposite directions, for when you're feeling like you want to get dirty. BURN, the third and final mode, is basically MAIM, except that the entire blade is on fire.

It would not be willingly that you would part with it, for any reason at all. They would have to pry it out of your cold, dead fingers first - which is totally accurate, considering that they are metal. And skeletal.

It is a shame, then, that the Magical Girls of the Third Incubator is asking you to do just that, before they let you into their little party.

For everyone's safety, they had said behind perfect smiles.

Most especially yours.

[1/2]
>>
>>20809978

You are Valnikov Kharn, Warmaster of the Ninth Incubator. It is currently morning, late morning to be exact, just an hour or so before lunch. You are scheduled for a meeting with the Warmaster of the Third Incubator, to discuss matters of a grievously important nature. Said matters of course involve your latest subordinate, whom you have so eloquently dubbed as 'Murderface' - and her remorseless, but certainly justified slaughter of three Eversor Squads belonging to the 3rd Incubator's Officio.

The brief elevator ride you had taken with your two subordinates (the other one being Malal, your aide and best friend, a Culexus) had brought you to the top floor - and the elevator doors itself seemed to have opened something...strange. Instead of what you'd expect from a normal office building floor, it is a grand and decadent setting, with thick red carpet muffling your footsteps as you step out, candlelight illumination, and uniformed servants carrying trays of finger food and drinks in delicate crystal.

It is almost like a castle's throne hall, except for a throne at the very back of it, there is some sort of white, wooden construction, elaborate and elegant. A gazebo, and from the looks of it, occupied by none other than Ahriman herself.

You can almost taste her killing intent, the scent of it spiking the moment you stepped forth from the elevator doors.

"They certainly don't mess around when it comes to break rooms," You hear Malal murmur, her voxsponder stealing the mirth and amusement in her voice.

[2/3]
>>
>>20809985

There are other Magical Girls milling about, that much is obvious from the way they carried themselves - but strangely enough, they seem to be wearing white. Dresses, kimonos, some of them even in gowns. All elegant, all white. Making you and Malal certainly stand out.

"They're mourning," Malal had volunteered, seemingly sensing your confusion. "White's the Japanese color for mourning, just like black is. The former's a bit more traditional, though."

That certainly explains it. But of course, it does not explain why you are being stopped before you can get any further - six Magical Girls, their weapons drawn, surround your group in a half circle. The one at the middle, a rather pretty young woman with long crimson hair tied into twintails, smiles at you and tells you to do something you have never done, since the beginning of your career as a Magical Girl.

Her smile does not reach her bright emerald eyes as she asks you to relinquish your chainsword.

"Please help us preserve the solemnity and sanctity of this occasion by relinquishing all weapons on your person to us." Her words are smooth and soft, like honey. "They will safekept for the duration of your meeting with the Warmaster, after which they will then be returned."

Had she not been wielding a rather impressive katana while she said this, the naked blade polished to a mirror-like sheen, its edge curiously serrated - you would have considered her approach as an invitation for flirting.

Kharn may not care about propriety but she does know how to use it to her advantage
>>
>>20810016

The rest of them do not look as comfortable or as ease as their leader. You know, through instinct and years of tolerating it, that they are staring at your hands. And legs. Witch-like aberrations, you have heard them called. Demonic. Heretical.

Well, you can't blame them, really. They do look rather intimidating.

They don't seem to have figured out that the reason they're mourning is standing just beside you, however. It must have been the haircut. And the lack of bloodstains.

What do you do?
>>
>>20810072
Respectfully decline... Unless the girl wants to do a favour for us in return then we might be convinced to allow her to look after it for a short time

After all it's not like we NEED skull taker in order to utterly destroy everyone in this room, it just makes it all the more fun to have the roaring spinning burning death to make them wet their panties before we kill them

neutral location*
>>
Mami creates as many rifles as she needs, Kyouko can summon more spears, Sayaka pulls infinite swords out of her cape, Madoka has unlimited magical arrows and Homu has ALL the weapons.

...why do they even ask for the weapon when you can just summon it back?
>>
Don't bother resisting - after all, we're never unarmed.
In the end, our body is all we need. We can always pry a weapon out of somebody's cold, dead hands.

Maybe protest a bit and drop some innuendo, in order to soothe their suspicions.

>>
Thread40, Kharn simply called Skulltaker to her without transforming. Every other MG can summon their main weapon. Juat give it to them, you can always call it back if you really need.

Heck, worse comes to worse, you can see what Murderface is capable of in person.
>>
>>20810072
As far a Kharn knows Murderface can spawn weapons right?

"Very well, my subordinate will relinquish her weapons first. Murderface, give them your weapons. All the weapons.

*Several hours and many large piles of guns and bombs later*

"Are you sure this is really needed?"
>>
>>20810281
We are playing nice because the mutant cat doesn't want us to murder everything in sight and Kharn despite giving no fucks doesn't just murder everything because she can.

She screws everything she can, is showy as possible and murders anyone who pushes her.

Plus Ahriman could fuck with us pretty badly if we start a fight at this distance, if we get close we have giant metallic arms and legs with which to tear her and anyone close to her apart with anyway

It would be different if we were going into an openly hostile situation as we wanted to but kyuubs is asking us to not murder first, murder second and then think about asking the dead bodies some questions so we try it his way so next time he won't even bother asking us to avoid bloodshed

Kharn seems to work on a molest > kill > talk MO for the most part.

At least she does while we are in control

Also murderface hasn't really been pussified she just hasn't had chances to messily injure or kill people without consequences that she doesn't want to or isn't able to handle
>>
>>20810441
To be fair, just going Skulls for the Skull God is Kharn's MO. To the point that Malal and QB have already planned a backup plan for when Kharn fucks the diplomacy up.

Diasrming Murderface is a BAD idea.

One, they might recognize her.
Two, a huge pile of guns that anyone can pick up and shoot just means a million tiny projectiles heading towards three soulgems.

Don't do that!
>>
>>20810646
I understand that the Soulgem has to be in close proximity to the body, and that it can't be encased.
But does anything, besides aesthetics, prevent wearing a kevlar vest with ceramic plates OVER the Soulgem, post-transformation?

Surrender your weapon? You barely manage to keep a straight face as you struggle not to chuckle, which you have the strangest feeling will strain this little meeting some. Actually handing over Skulltaker to someone else, letting another's hands besides you touch the brutish, monstrous chainblade - it is almost too unthinkable to even ruminate. It is like your father letting someone else touch his gun. You remember the horrendous beating he gave you when you did that. Malal remembers the spanking you gave her when she tried it.

The girl in front of you smiles, seemingly taking your amusement for hesitation, before bowing. "Warmaster Valnikov, please. I humbly request that you surrender your weapon to us. I realize the implications this may have on your reputation that precedes you so, but please take into consideration the current circumstances." She lets out a small sigh. "We are mourning for our lost sisters. I implore you not to taint our grief with suspected treachery and ill-placed bluster. We simply wish to mourn in peace."

Hnh. You raise an eyebrow at this. At the very least, they seem to be genuinely in grief about the entire thing. This still smells like a trap, just like Malal said, but even you realize that some requests need to be honored, planned treachery or no.

If this is a trap, then you will kill them. But not one of them will go to the grave saying that Valnikov Kharn never respected the dead.

[1/2]
>>
>>20810664

Not every gem appears in an easily protectible place.

Some magical girls, like Yuma from Oriko Magica, have them on the back of their neck.

But, honestly, I don't imagine there's anything stopping Kyouko and Sayaka from using kevlar vests over their costume.
>>
>>20810691

The pinprick of red at the center of your midnight-black eye dilates as a crimson flame flicker sinto existence before it - and Skulltaker, in its black, brutish magnificence, materializes in your grip with a brief gout of hellish fire, prompting the group surrounding you to involuntarily step back in its appearance. You don't blame them - even while inactive, the sword's chainteeth look much too hungry for blood to be considered safe, too dangerous even when inert.

It's with a casual, almost negligent flick of your wrist that you toss the blade up into the air by its handle - and just as you catch it, your fleshmetal skeletal fingers curling around the leather-bound handle do you stab it into the carpet-covered floor, blade first. A horrendous sound of metal and concrete being mangled joined by the shriek of grinding steel causing everyone to stop and watch - including the string orchestra playing some snooty classical piece in the corner of the vast room - as you bury Skulltaker into the floor, like a grotesque parody of Excalibur.

Beside you, Malal is burying her helmeted face in her gloves, while Murderface looks on in complete and utter silence.

"Please accept," You begin as you reach up to your hat with your clawed hands, taking off the symbol of Warmastership delicately and reverently from its place on your scalp and placing it on your chest, "...my most sincerest condolences. Of course, deaths of comrades must always be grieved. I am not blind to this. Thus I will let this unreasonable request slide."

You gesture to the buried weapon in front of you. "Ah, but then, please forgive me for my own indulgences. I am of a superstitious sort - I believe that if I allow anyone else to handle my weapon, then I am disrespecting its spirit, and thus will affect its performance in a detrimental fashion. So I am not surrendering it, but rather I am leaving it here." You end your words with a grin, and Ahriman's girls glance at each other uncertainly, except for the red-haired one who simply returns your smile with a small one of her own. "Everything is okay, yes? This is allowed?"

More murmurings between your reluctant custodians, before their obvious leader speaks up. "Unorthodox, but it will do, Warmaster Kharn. Thank you for indulging us." It's then that she nods towards your aide and your new subordinate. "Now for theirs."

You open your mouth to voice a protest. Now this is simply just being too overbearing. You--

"Nevermind, here," Malal says as she unclips her combat knife from ankle, sheathe and all, before handing it to the girl. The crimson-tipped crowbar that she keeps mag-locked to the back of her suit is handed over as well.

"Thank you." Red Twintails says, smiling once more. "As for her?" She looks towards Murderface, who looks back at her sullenly, purple eyes dead behind her glasses. A moment more, and she looks towards you, as if waiting for an order.

What do you do?

You're inwardly surprised just how easily she let you manhandle her - you were expecting some sort of resistance - but it seems that whatever Mami Tomoe had said to her had stuck. She was yours, and she was going to obey without question.

You smile at this. Oh, the fun you'll have with her.

"First, my apologies for this one," You begin. "She is a new member of my retinue, as well as a fresh recruit. She is, how you say, a bit slow on the up-taking." You guffaw as you poke at her cheek with the tip of a skeletal finger, before pinching that cheek slightly, pulling it outward. The girl, to her credit, does not even move a single inch, nor change her sullen expression. "In any case, she has no weapon to surrender. She has a shield, see?" You let go of her cheek to take her right arm, lifting it into view. "You will note that it already has battle damage, from blocking a grievous blow. It is for defence, not for offence. Surely she does not need to relinquish it?"

You've spun bigger lies before, said them with a sincere smile and an open heart. There is no way they could not believe you. You are Warmaster, after all.

Red Twintails looks at Murderface, then back at you, her smile dropping slightly - before brightening again, and nodding.

"Yes, of course. Forcing her to remove something like that does seem unreasonable." She turns to nod at her compatriots, who then step away, breaking their formation. "Very well, Warmaster of the Ninth. You and your retinue may pass."

Malal will be voiced by James Earl Jones in the MGNQ movie, but when the helmet comes off it's a white girl underneath.
>>
>>20811139
Well no not in this flashback. But she's dead back in the present either way.
>>
>>20811140

"Thank you," You smile as you walk past her, both Murderface and Malal following close behind - and you give Red Twintails a playful grope on the rear as you pass her. She squeaks loudly at this, and you hear the clang of a finely-forged sword as it is dropped on the floor. You hear the girl gasp your name, almost breathlessly, just before her comrades surround her.

"I saw that," Comes Malal's whisper, tinged with just a tiny bit of exasperation, as well as amusement. She pulls out her tablet from behind her, swiping and tapping on the screen. "Grade?"

You tell her your findings. A bit too athletic for your liking, but nonetheless soft and warm. Has potential. A solid 8, you declare. You should remember to ask Ahriman for the girl's name and phone number.

"She's not blonde, though." Your aide helpfully points out, which you wave off. Sometimes, you explain, one most get out of their comfort zones to discover something new.

Besides, you have been curious about redheads for the longest time.

"What's next? Brunettes?" Malal snorts, glancing at Murderface, before shaking her head. "Right. Noted."

You have just gained access to the 3rd Warmaster's little gathering. You are without your weapon, Skulltaker. Your aide is unarmed as well. Murderface, on the other hand, seems to be unrecognized as of the moment.

Off to the side of you, you notice something peculiar. A girl in a pink dress, standing out from the crowd of whites. Her equally pink hair tied into two cute ponytails, secured by black ribbon. Her skirt a marshmallowy, frilly poofy affair.

Well, this is interesting. Not only does she seem quite the standout from this sombre crowd - you've never really liked white yourself - but she seems the perfect picture of innocence, smiling quietly to herself, rocking slightly back and forth on her black high-heeled shoes. She may not be blonde, yes, but pink...it's a hair color you don't see much of, if at all. Redheads are much more common, brunettes even moreso...but pink is much more rare, much more special.

You make up your mind. You will have this pink-haired beauty with the charming eyes.

Perhaps this little meeting will not be as dreadfully boring as it is looking, eh?

"Kharn?" You hear Malal's voice by your side, and a tugging at your right sleeve. "Kharn, Ahriman is just there, in the gazebo. Just a bit more of a walk and we can get out of here." She is sounding a bit annoyed. "...What are you looking at?"

You break your gaze away from the enchanting young woman in the pink dress to look at Malal. As if on cue, she lets out a sigh.

"Right. Come along, Murderface. You don't need to see this. I might as well teach you what sort of drinks to order when you see a wet bar in a function like this." Malal takes your charge by the hand, which she doesn't seem to resist against. "Our Warmaster needs some time on her own, and I think it's better if I don't let you see what's about to happen."

". . ." Murderface eloquently replies as she lets herself get dragged. "We'll wait for you near the Gazebo, Kharn. I'll give QB a call to let him know what's up, too."

There she goes, your aide and best friend. How well she knows you.

You saunter towards the girl in pink, placing your cap back on your head, making sure it is in a rather rougish angle as you make your way to her. Fleshmetal legs clanking with each confident, loping stride.

She doesn't seem to take much note of your approach, which is...admittedly a bit disconcerting, but you do not give up so easily. Stopping right in front of her, you sweep your hat off of your head as you curl into a graceful, almost gentlemanly bow - and predictably, this gets you an appreciative gasp and a rather giddy giggle from the girl.

You hold the pose for a moment longer, breathing in her peculiar - but certainly not off-putting - perfume, before straightening up, tucking your cap under your arm. You have caught her attention, truly, and she's looking up at you with her sunless eyes, rapt with attention. You smile down at her, the girl a full head shorter than you (and then some) - and it's then that you introduce yourself. You make it a point to leave out your rank.

"My, you're tall, aren't you?" Is the first words you hear from this delightful, delicate flower. Granted, you were expecting her name, but this is common. "And such beautiful hands! And eyes! Oh, if I only weren't spoken for, already, I'd be so tempted...!" She clutches her cheeks with satin-gloved hands, her face reddening in a chaste display of temptation.

How do you react?

She blushes even more at her words, to the point that she turns away from you with a shy, coquettish gasp as she clutches at her cheeks - clearly embarrassed at how thick you're laying it on. Well, to be honest, you're actually taking it easy, this time - usually, you're much more direct with your approach, a bit more brusque and rough. But something about this girl tells you to be delicate, to be subtle. To be smooth.

It's only after a moment that she seems to regain her composure enough to turn back to you to reply, a mock frown of disapproval briefly curling the corners of her soft, unpainted lips downward before she smiles again. "Oh, Miss Valnikov, that is simply too much! Please, do not utter such words carelessly, or I fear that my vows to my beloved shall be strained, and I tempted to break them!"

It's then that she placesg one gloved hand on her chest, right above her soul gem. "My, look at what you've done. My heart...it's racing." She looks up at you, mournfully, at the same time pleadingly. "Please, do not do that again, Miss Valnikov. You make it far too easy for someone to fall for you...but even with my own body begging me to surrender to you, I...I can't help but think about what would happen to my beloved, if she were to find out. The betrayal would break her." The girl in pink shakes her head, her mood suddenly somber. "No, I can't do something like that to her. She'd be devastated..."

Her voice trails off into silence, murmuring a name. You can't quite catch it, despite your hearing.

After a few moments, she looks back up at you, smiling once more. "Ah, hmm...my name? My name is..." Her midnight-black eyes blink, before she shakes her head again, her smile turning secretive. "You don't really need to know my name right now, it's much too soon, but...Faust, I think, sounds nice enough." She giggles, the sound music to your ears. "Yes. Faust. But I'll keep the name of my beloved to my own, thank you. I know that look in your eyes! You may have the advantage of me, Miss Valnikov, but you will never be my beloved's rival!"

Tell her that she seems like a nice girl and for the sake of herself and not making her beloved grief she probably shouldn`t stay here for long.

Other that that:
This is kind of Interesting that she calls herself Faust. So far the Pinky refered only a single time to herself and that was as "Madoka".
Coobie did call her Faust, though.

You inwardly sigh as a smile of begrudging defeat curls your own lips. Truly, the most interesting ones are always taken already, eh? Of course, Nero was interesting in her own right, but this petite young woman in her poofy pink number...she is simply much too special to pass up on, a fruit that should be tasted at all costs. If it weren't for your annoying little habit of backing off once your prey had made it known that she was already spoken for, and that she did not want to betray their trust, well...you would have taken her right there, you think. Yes. Like wolves in heat.

You try to downplay the sting of rejection as you give her a nod with your smile, asking her instead about what was she doing here. She does not look at all sad or sombre like the rest, nor is she swaddled in mourning colors. Surely, someone like her should be spending time with her beloved instead?

At this, she smiles again, only this time her smile mirrors yours. "Ah, I've...hurt you, haven't I? I'm sorry, Miss Valnikov." And to her credit, she does sound like it, her midnight black eyes wide in apologetic concern. "I did not mean to. It's just that..." The pink-haired girl's voice seems to catch in her throat. "I...we've been through a lot. Her, most especially. She's sacrificed much of herself for me, and I...I cannot throw her sacrifice away in a moment of weakness. Please understand."

[1/2]
>>
>>20812872

At your question, she shakes her head. "Ah, I'm here for...well, other reasons. Mainly, I was supposed to meet with one of the girls, here -- imagine my surprise when I find out that she was one of those who had been taken away from us. It's...it's a sobering revelation, isn't it, Miss Valnikov?" The girl looks up at you. "Please, be careful too. I'd hate to hear about anything bad happening to such a beautiful soul."

You blink at this, and find yourself...touched, somehow. Here was someone who rebuffed your advances, but still took the time to be gentle. She reminds you of Mami, in a way.

"I will be leaving soon enough, though. In fact...probably in a little bit." She glances around, before suddenly smiling. "Here, I may be able to do a last bit of good before I leave. Since I hurt you, would..." It's then that Faust reddens, but she seems to forge on, determined. "...Would you like a small token, from me, before we part?"

...Is she offering you a kiss?

Well.. It could be one of the other Timelines before the Ending of the Anime. Probably one where they both made it to Walpurgisnacht, managed to defeat her and Madoka turns into a witch due to overexerting herself or grief about her friends deaths. Or something like that what somehow fucked up Timejump-Ability and instead of just switching the Timeline we switched to a completly different universe.

I doesn`t explain how Homuhomu ended up in Charlotte`s Barrier though and since her Timejump has a fixed point of several Days before Charlotte`s Appearence that would mean on the other hand that Homuhomu spend quite some time in her Barrier.
>>
>>20812940
>>20812963
I thought it was pretty obvious that this is the world where the grief seed of Madokami's witch ended up. When a witch is killed, a grief seed is always dropped. Godoka's witch was the size of Earth, so of course her grief seed would be huge, like...say, an asteroid, floating out in space. Pinky says that Murderface is a fake because the REAL Homura was personally escorted to Madoka's new world...but at the same time, Madoka "died" when she ceased to exist, so Homura would automatically get sent to another timeline. Homura was taken away, but at the same time, a part of her was tossed back in time, to another world. She's not the Homura that sacrificed so much to save Madoka, but at the same time, she is Homura.

Pinky is Faust, the witch spawned from the greatest wish, currently floating in space waiting for enough grief to accumulate so that she can revive herself, like any witch will if her seed is pumped full of enough despair. Now, imagine: what's the best way to generate enough grief to power herself up? Giving witch-made weapons to mahou shoujo so they go crazy and turn into witches or cause enough chaos to create mass amounts of grief.
>>
>>20813073
Well, Charlotte's barrier came up around a hospital. It was never specified if this is the same one Homura was previously discharged from. It's possible that Charlotte simply hatched early, or Homura was kept in hospital for longer than normal, and then BAM witch's barrier.

>>
>>20813103
Except for the part where Madoka's wish was to erase witches by stopping puella magi from succumbing to despair - and that includes herself, hence pime taradox.

Basically, the grief seed being there means that something has gone terribly wrong with her Wish.

>>20813114

Well the reason why I am convinced that this is post anime is that Faust mentions that Homura has always had a drinking habit in the second episode.

Thinking about it, what was Homura's goal in the anime?
To save Madoka.
And in the end. She FAILED! She utterly failed that goal. While Madoka revamped an unfair system where little girls were at the risk of becoming monsters, Madoka erased herself from reality. Only Homura was the one that remembered her.

If that isn't a case for turning to the bottle, I don't know what is. Especially after the lustre of 'protecting Madoka's new world!' has worn off.
>>
I hear a lot of people going meta, but it isn't meta if Deculture gives us the choice. If it was a write in then it'd be meta as fuck. The author is basically saying that Kharn could reject Pinky's gift if we wanted t.

>>
>>20813141
Multiverse, bro. Madokami may only have complete and total control over the universe she exists in -- which is clearly not the one we're in. Homura ended up in that one, but some part of her also ended up thrown into the timeline where Faust's grief seed ended up. The timeline the wish was made in couldn't continue to exist due to the wish itself, but that doesn't mean that the wish fixed everything for every world forever. That grief seed had to end up somewhere, and what better place for it to be than a world that's already so drastically different from the originals that even Homura would barely recognize it? We don't know what all of the timelines Homura saw were like, but it's easy to assume that most of them were pretty similar to each other, with just slight variations. Eventually, though, you're going to reach one that's incredibly unique, containing organizations of magical girls and girls we know exist in other worlds making appearances in some form. At the very least, Madoka's wish worked for the timeline she was in.

>>20813182
It IS possible that, at the end of the road, when Homura was finally going to go to magical girl valhalla with Madokami, she was instead thrown back in time. Again. And ended up in this clusterfuck of a timeline.

There's nothing to cause someone to drink themselves to the point of brain damage or leave themselves to die in a witch barrier like realizing that everything they've ever done was worthless.
>>
>>20813183
It's more why people are refusing then the fact that they are. "hell the fuck no" is a blatantly meta reason.
>>
>>20813103
Except it doesn`t work like that since Madoka pretty much broke the Meguca-System with her wish.

If this was just another timeline there would still be no Witches in here. Madokami wouldn`t exist and the same goes for Charlotte.

>>20813139
Ayup. Thats why I think that this is some fucked up version of the events after one of the earlier Timelines. maybe even the one where Madoka begs Homu to kill her before she turns into a witch and Homu just fucked up to do so.

Then there is always the Chance that Pinky/Faust isnt a witch at all but something else. Please keep in mind that you can`t communicate with witches and they also turn into abstract monstrosities. Witches are either incapable of communication and are mindless beasts or just show interest in it.

Pinky seems to be the first one who not only has a humanoid shape but is also capable of speech.

Actually.. It does. Since the next Timeline Homura was catapulted into didn`t have neither Witches nor Madoka.
I know that you obviously favour your theory but now you are just bending stuff to fit into it.
>>
>>20813225

No it isn't. You're allowed to go 'hell the fuck no' if the writer gives you the option to do it. There's nothing wrong in answering no for any reason if the write allowed it.
>>
>>20813286
Every good quest runner does this, and we can refuse, so I refuse Pinky's offer.
>>
>>20813286
I disagree. Why would Kharn answer like that? She ahs no reason to be so terrified of Pinky's offer. You can politely refuse for other reasons, but being scared of recieving somethign dreadful doesn't make sense in character.
>>
>>20813231
But Kharn un-Witched herself and when we timestopped in the Witch that showed up in Mami's house's barrier, she was clearly that Yuuri/Airi girl from Kazumi Magica.

Pink might just be making the Witch business work for her, unless only the Warp-tainted can see her and the whole world is Gretchen's Barrier
>>
>>20813264
...Why would the concept of a Witch be intelligent and capable of speech if the witches themselves don`t do that or are unable to.
>>
Ok guys, stop arguing. Deculture is likely writing up the post
Anyway if if we were meant to receive it. Pinkie could just go "I insist"

Once again you are struck by how...gentle, and considerate these Japanese girls can be. Sure, discipline and politeness and a certain degree of apathy is bred into their youth - but there are some who consistently surprise you with how warm and caring they are, despite how hard-bitten the world has gotten around them. Despite the fresh sting of rejection, you cannot help but be enchanted by this strange girl with eyes like yours. You cannot help but fall in love, yourself.

It would certainly be a crime to refuse her offer. Smiling, you nod yes, and you stoop slightly just as she beams, both her gloved hands reaching up at you. You feel the warm silkiness of her skin as her arms curl around your neck, and the sugary-sweet scent of her perfume is strong enough that you can actually taste it on your tongue as you breathe in...

And it's then that you feel it. A demure, almost chaste brushing of her lips against yours. Nothing so crass, so direct, so torrid. A maiden's kiss, gentle and sincere and all the more precious. It's so that you close your eyes at the sensation, and you feel tears pricking at the corners of your eyes.

It's then that you feel her letting go, murmuring a hurried goodbye. You catch your name being gasped, and you open your eyes to see her for one last time, before she leaves. To see that which you cannot have.

The moment you do so is the moment you realize that she is gone. Vanished. Disappeared, as if she never were. You blink at this, then glance around, hoping to catch her retreating form.

...No trace of her. None whatsoever. And you'd think you'd be able to see her, with all this white mourning nonsense people are wearing.

Where did she go...? Surely, girls as special as that do not just disappear?

... Doesn't look like pinky
>>
>>20813299
As one of the people who voted to accept, there is still a perfectly in-character reason to reject the offer. Kharn, for all her lascivious lesbian ways, has shown utmost respect for others' relationships. Faust said she was here to meet with another girl, and we're assuming she's offering us a kiss, so we could politely turn it down with the justification of not wanting to impose on their relationship.
>>
>>20813336
>Witch kiss

Whelp.
>>
>>20813300
>when we timestopped in the Witch that showed up in Mami's house's barrier, she was clearly that Yuuri/Airi girl from Kazumi Magica.

Somehow I think that that part of the plot isn`t even related to Pinky, but to the Saints. If the Saints in this Universe are anything like the ones from the Mango then the Airi/Yurri could oissbly not even been a Witch at all but a victim of those fucking Witch-Nuts. And we just blew her head off.
Heck, it wouldn`t even surprise me if You know who turned Airi/Yuri into a Pseudo-Witch and send her assassinite Mami for whatever reason.

The Saints are even beyond Kirika`s Level of crazy.
>>
>>20813336

You murmur her name, and it's then that you feel a tugging on your left sleeve. You look down to see who it is, and get an eyeful of your new subordinate, Murderface. Looking as sullen as always. And faintly smelling of whisky.

"What were you doing?" She asks you, eyes narrowed behind her glasses. "Malal sent me over to check up on you. You've been standing there for a full minute, not talking to anyone. People are starting to look at you, she says." She glances at the spot where you've been staring at. "...I guess she is sort of pretty..."

Who is? You frown at this, before following her gaze. What you've been standing in front of, it looks like, is a painting of a young woman with long, pink hair. Dressed in a long white gown, almost bridal in make and quality. Wings unfurling behind her, a small beatific smile on her lips. Her eyes closed, as if in reverent prayer.

...Surely, there must be some sort of mistake. Did Murderface not see you talking to anyone with pink hair? In a similarly colored dress?

"What?" Murderface frowns, her eyes narrowing even further. "No. I saw no girl with pink hair. You broke away from us and made a beeline straight for this painting." She tugs at your sleeve again. "Let's go. Malal says the Warmaster is getting impatient."

Impossible. How could she not have seen her? You...are not going crazy, are you?

Slightly unnerved by this, you allow Murderface to pull you along, towards the Gazebo.

Wondering if your corruption is much more serious than you first thought.
>>
>>20813350
But that's what I just said. I didn't say politely refusing was wrong, I said that I though people refusing out of being afraid of geting a golden weapon was.

Either we got slipped something, or Pinky isn't the most subtle of God-Witch-things.

Thanks for another awesome thread, Deculture! I'm really loving the story so far. And with the advent of Pinky hallucinations, it looks like we may be slowly turning from Kharn Sexual Conquests Quest to Oh God Everything Is Going Wrong Again Quest. Should be fun!

But yes, I'm very much loving that the creeping sense of dread is being handled subtly. It makes it a lot more striking when these thing do happen.

If it's not spoilery, might i inquire about how much longer you feel the Kharn flashback will be?

I continue to have a blast, but i miss poor Murderface.

This sort of tears it that Pinky is pretty much Madoka but a Witch and/or yandere for Homura.

Whatever happened in this universe, I have a feeling it's Murderface's (or Homura Prime's) fault.

>>20813436

It might be a good idea to see if we can get the R&D guys at Siberia to take a look at Midori's soulgem while Chiaki undergoes the process. If that other incubator (Jyubey, I think his name was?) has the ability to create pseudo-witches within all his agents, it might show up.

Since Kyubey's overwritten Midori's contract to be sourced to Chiaki, however, this might be a moot point. Still, never hurts to be sure.
>>
>>20813436
Midori said she was pretty much a nonfactor in the Saints and everyone ignored her. Which explains why she is so starved for attention.
She could be lying of course, but she's pretty dedicated to a lie given that Flesh of Fallen Angels Matsuda nearly cut her to pieces with the golden katana when Midori was trying to call Matsuda back from the brink.
>>
>>20813487
Tempting... But at the same time I'm afraid of the consequences if playing around with her gem goes wrong.

No, she wasn`t. She was a part of Jyubey Agency but she was not a part of the Saints.
From how I understood things in MGNQ Jyubey has his own Agency just like Coobie and the Saints are pretty much his elite. Midori was pretty much the equivalent ofa NamelessRankAndFileSoldier we surprisngly didn`t go full EVISCERATE ET LACTERATE on.

Uhm.. its not Jyubey who can spawn Pseudo-Witches. I don`t want to spoil Kazumi Magica for you. If you watched Meguca already you probably should look into the Kazumi Magica-Mango too.
I thought it wasn`t that bad except that the amount of JUST AS PLANNED at the end makes it look a bit silly.
Fore some Reason the Saints also dress like hookers.

So your fear that Midori could turn into something like this out of the blue is unfounded anon.

While Coobie is a master of "You didn`t ask" at the same time he very methodical andgoes out of his way to prevent stuff interfering with his work.
His Warmaster-to-be being tracked by another agency through her subordinate is something that would obviously hinder his work.

So no, I don`t believe he wouldn`t mention that to us.
>>
>>20813680
In this instance, he was already giving us several pieces of information which we hadn't specifically asked for as an overview of what Midori's coat turning entailed.

Additionally, if she could be tracked, then she'd be a threat to any part of his operation she went to - which is why he immediately approved her going directly to his most secret research base.

The to-do list is already quite long, i'd rather not add things to it where the most likely response is QB one-lining "What, do you think I'm incompetent?"

If we're going to assume that every single action he takes is part of a minimum of two separate machiavellian plots to kill us, we might as well have stuck to ending every interaction with him by blasting one of his clones.

I mean, i would actually have preferred that, but that ship sailed when we told him about Faust, let alone when we got Midori or accepted the warmaster job. We don't have to trust him, but since we accepted a job as his right-hand murderer, we will have to work with him.
