>A Waifu's Story

Alright, since that ass, Lem Fearghaile posted that story back on the old thread, I guess I have to get back at him.

Well, where should I start... When we were going through the winterwoods, I was barely more than a Kitten. We never really stayed in one place, always moving. Whenever we settled down on place, something happened and we had to move. Sometimes it was just roving gangs of bandits, sometimes it was someone didn't want us there... usually humans... One time, a human tried to take Mom away. When Dad stopped him, he wasn't getting up anymore... so we had to move. Well, we all eventually passed what looked like from afar and abandoned citadel. Normally, we would have avoided it. It was obviously made by humans, and the smoke rising from it probably meant bandits or worse

Well, we all eventually passed what looked like from afar an abandoned citadel. Normally, we would have avoided it. It was obviously made by humans, and the smoke rising probably meant bandits or worse, but then we saw one of them. A human a ways out, in strange clothing that looked all too little for protection in this snow and all too eaten out by wolves. There were Elvish arrows in his back. Elves don’t use human dwellings, so chances are, it might have been just some poor traders chased into there by Elves. We had no idea how many actually were there. More than fifty score were within the walls of that citadel, all of them looking like skeletons more than people. Most ran away, thinking that we were the ones who attacked them, when our chief said otherwise. What happened then were a thousand strange faces begging for help, well, all one thousand but one.

We gave them what help we could. Thankfully, most of them could be saved with the proper nutrition and salves. The gratitude and ready acceptance got some of the Mother Elders talking about maybe settling down since it was protected and we were openly accepted, something we’ve never had with any humans anywhere. It was a shock to a lot of us. They even flirted and doted, something I’ve never even seen a Felim boy do on his own! Most of the time, it’s the girl, and a lot of my friends really got all googley-eyed over them, basically purring nonstop!

It was strange though, I was more interested in that one that didn’t walk up and greet us so warmly, at least not at first, and even then it seemed a bit uncomfortable. He was still respected, and people listened to him when he talked, but he was the only one asking hard questions and not stopping until he was satisfied with the answers. At first I thought it was because he was like any other human, trying to get the best end of the deal while screwing everyone else, or he just did it out of spite and hate. But that didn’t make sense. He didn’t look at me with distrust and hate, he just saw me. And uh… that did sorta send a chill up my tail… in a good way! Wait, what am I saying? Eh… well, that’s when I realized, this man they called Lem Fearghaile, he acted like he did because he was just like us!

As I've mentioned before, not all of my tales are ones of despair. I have, on one occasion or another, tried my hand at other trades besides adventuring. There is the item shop Karrigan runs, but of course that's her store, not mine. Bethany was still a child, in my eyes at least, but still insisted on helping with whatever I attempted, much to her dismay when I tried brewing, though I admit I didn't do too bad a job considering I only had a rough understanding of the process from the old world...come to think of it, it is a bit odd that the place that was my home nearly 40 years ago has been reduced to just "the old world," a place where some of the Inner Circle might reference back to every now and then, though be it in lamentation or no, who can say...ah, but I'm going off on another tangent.

Anyway, after my failed attempt at brewing, I decided to try my hand at running one of the pubs instead. This was met with a greater amount of success than my previous endeavor, though I would not have been able to do it without Bethay's youthful exuberance. Ah, to be that young again. The taverns tended to get most of the outside business, owing to them renting out rooms, so the majority of business here was local, which suited me just fine. Fellow knights and their waifus congregated there every night, be it for food, drink, or just a chance to see one of the bards trying out their skills on Thursdays, often with mixed results. Things got interesting after I introduced Presilla to the idea of icecream and she insisted on making it as often as possible, for the guests of course, or so she always said. How could I say no, especially after Karrigan taught her how to do a sad puppy-dog face?

As much as I love my waifus, they drive me to insanity sometimes. Back then, more so then now, though only slightly less so, they were always scheming something, be it "kidnapping" me and dragging me off into the woods for whatever amusement they had on mind, usually something involving making me into a snowman in summer if Presilla was involved, or I'd end up with none-too-subtle hints at wanting a tail or ear stroking, though I honestly can't complain about that.

Such times at home were fleeting, though, and wanderlust got the better of me. It was after this lull in my career that I took up the title of Knight-Sergeant, leading the younger knights errant on excursions, mostly to keep them from doing anything foolish, as anyone will tell you the new ones are prone to do, and because there were just some jobs best not done alone. There were surprises to come from some of these trips, but that is a story for another day.

Where did all these new Harem Knights come from?

Well, us killing him was part of the initial idea.
Would be fun to have the wizard appear, mind control a few dudes to calm us down and thus cause everyone to be enraged and rip him apart.
Bonus points for only a few dozens of us being present at the time, swearing never to speak of that event that killed possibly their only chance at return.

I went to his barrack one night to pick his brain. I didn’t really get him much, but I know at least he didn’t hate us. He was writing under the light of a sort of oil-less glass lamp that was plugged into a potato. I asked him “Watcha’ doing?”

He looked to the side for a moment, see I who I was. “Writing a list of materials we’ll need.”

“Weapons? Armor?”

“Yes, I don’t like how the trees mov – wait, why do you care? There are plenty of guys out in the yard that will give you all the attention you want, why don’t you go… rub noses with them or something.” He made a movement with his left hand to kind of half-heartedly shoo me away.

“but I don’ wanna do that, I’d rather be here.”

“Then what, praytell, would you do in here besides cause me grief?” Still writing.

“I dunno, wanna rub noses? :3”

With that, Lem’s back straightened and head shot up, red as a beet. At first I thought he was mad, but then I saw he looked more panicked. This is where you can see the cogs turning. The way he freezes up for a second when you catch him off guard is soooo cute~

And a moment later, with one swift moment, he got up, turned around, and handed me the list “Could you kindly bring this to the Elder Mother?” He asked as smoothly as he could, which wasn’t very smooth at all.

“Sure!” I took the paper hopped up and rubbed his nose on mine before he could react, and happily pranced out of the room. I think that’s when I got him to start liking me~

Lem looks out for his own: his friends, and since he left the Old Realm, they’re his family, and he doesn’t let anyone even come close to touching it. Which was why he helped draw up the battle plan for the Elf raid, why he trained the men, then why he volunteered for the Vanguard, and why he turned sooooo red at that moment. And it’s why he goes out to lands far and near to play a more dangerous game of politics than I’d ever want to go into alone. Y’see he might like to act like some kinda “Edgy badass” or whatever the other Harem Knights like to joke about, but the truth is, he’s just a big baby that doesn’t stop worrying. He’s worse than a new mother with her first litter! Ha!

And, it’s why I follow Lem. Beacuse that’s just what I love about him.

It's been a bit over ten years since we arrived in this realm. I have watched our ruined castle turn into a nice, bustling young city, wealthy in both gold and culture. It's odd how we always manage to find dungeons just filled with gold and beasts. We attributed it to the same kind of wizard dickery that brought us here. In any case, a city of knights taking advantage of these oddities has brought wealth and skilled warriors to this city. When I first arrived I was barely a man who'd never held a weapon, now the only thing a Harem Knight knows his way around better than a blade is his waifu, and occasionally the tankard. Of course, most of us are no longer just lovers and husbands, but also fathers. Half breeds were virtually unheard of before our arrival, and now a new generation of nothing but them is already blooming, despite a lower birth rate due to the difficulties of cross species fertilization. In general, they tend to resemble their mother's species, albeit usually with subdued features. A half elf's ears are shorter and a tad rounded than a full breed, for example. One interesting thing to note about half-Felims is that an equal number of boys and girls are produced, due to human males giving off X and Y chromosomes in more even proportions than a Felim, who mainly produce females. My only son is actually a half-Felim.

In the Old Realm, having a catboy for a son would be laughable, but I couldn't be more happy to be a dad to anything. Parenthood is strange, isn't it? I didn't really even take to kids before, but I doddle on my children now, think about them all the time, and tell my son to take care of his only sibling, his sister (a Lamia who looks just like her mother) before I leave for the next journey. Bigamy struck me as off before I arrived; and I'm not even sure how I ended up attracting two women, but the children are too young to care and the culture too accepting to make it feel out of place. My son and daughter are only 7 and 6 years old, respectively, but just having children makes me feel aged like an old man, and I'm only about 28. That's about the age of most of the other knights. When we arrived, the men varied, in average, from about sixteen at the youngest, to about thirty years of age, with the early to mid twenties being the most common. Speaking of the knights, facial hair has become quite popular among the men here. Be it a layer of rugged stubble or an ornately braided beard, everyone seems to have hair on their face. Hair dyes are also being experimented with, so some men and women have dyed their hair blacks, reds, blondes, and even blue or white, if it wasn't naturally that color.

Fashion also varies greatly between us. On any day you'll see a surcoat, a kilt, and a frilly collar in the same room. Weapons designs were also carried over from the Old Realm, sometimes just the shape of a blade, sometimes forging methods by a few who actually knew such things. As such, the knights carry a wide variety of weapons, be it Dane axe or katana, with even more flavor added by experimentation. God knows we will never forget the automatic shovel launcher incident. One important thing we have is gunpowder. It was easy enough for us to replicate and produce, as such we had stockpiles made about five years in. It's a closely guarded secret, and only to be assigned in the case of a raid or other dire situations. I often stay awake thinking about what tragedy may befall my family that we reveal our secret weapon. It's best not to dwell on such things lest they happen though, eh? In any case, it's time to snuff out this candle and go to sleep; I've stayed up far too long, and must depart in the morning for another dungeon dive.

That goes against our sacred tenants.

>Every person, be they man or woman, is born with the right to seek out their Waifu.

>A man’s Waifu is his Waifu alone, to make a move on another man’s Waifu is the dickest of moves.

>Do not insult another man’s Waifu. Everyone is someone’s Waifu and everyone thinks their Waifu is the best. To argue about this is to invite dissension and forsake Brotherhood.

>Do not insult the size of a mans harem. Some men have one Waifu, some have many. This does not make either more pure or lecherous nor more or less skilled than the other, it is merely a choice and nothing more.

>Do not attempt to take a woman as your own if she is not your Waifu. The world is plentiful, there is no need to be greedy and forsake others the right to their Waifu.

>Always cherish your Waifu. She is there for you as you are there for her. Honor this bond.

>Eat well, drink well, and adventure well, but most importantly, love well.

Besides, I have plans coming together, even now...if only I could remember them.

Ahhh, but you forget, good sir, the scarcity of sulphur in this world. Without the means to properly manufacture primers, we're forced to rely on gunpowder. With limited sulphur supplies, it's taken us a long time just to reach the stocks we have. I think blackpowder and more advanced weapons will never become overly-prevalent here. Frankly I'm thankful of this. Besides, with magic so relatively easy to master, next to the difficulties in manufacturing canon and muskets, who needs blackpowder anyway?

Oh ho? You would ask of me a name? Well, the truth of the matter is, I have none. Don't misunderstand, there was most certainly a name bestowed upon me at birth; but, I have long since abandoned it. However, if you require an identifier for the duration of this tale then you may refer to me as "Nanashi," or "No-Name," to keep things simple.

The details of my life are, sad to say, quite inconsequential, though I suppose I could say the same of my very existence. Whatever heightened sense of pride or self-esteem I may have once held in my younger years has long since been stripped away by many different people as I've grown older, ranging from so-called "friends," to "loved ones," to my very parents themselves.

For the sake of brevity, I will say that my profession is that of a mercenary. I lend my blade to anyone willing to part with a reasonable sum of money. A dog of war is, perhaps, the most easily summarized explanation of my line of work. Humorously enough, a majority of my training and experience come from Kanin lands so perhaps "dog of war" isn't too inaccurate of a description, at least for a human. (cont.)

My travels had eventually taken me to the lands of Teegee. I could not help but find this realm peculiar, albeit in a considerably good fashion. Here lie all manner of well-traveled men with plenty of stories to share, as well as many others with tales to create. I found myself returning there often, eventually to assist an individual who resided in these lands with some business of his. For the sake of consideration, I shall not expand upon any finer details of my work with this man.

At some point, I happened upon the discovery of this "Castle Waifu" or so it is called. Curious, I kept my distance, as I always have, and merely observed the intricacies of this location. To my surprise, many an attractive maiden resided within its walls. Even a man with a heart as weathered and hardened as mine could see the appeal of such a place, and the idea of the men of Teegee finding their suitable others here struck me as... Entertaining, though not at all in a disrespectful way. To be clear, I would think "Good for those fine men, and I hope they find their happiness. But surely such a thing would never happen for me."

That was until the day I spotted "her."

She has flowing locks of beautiful, blonde hair which, for reasons I couldn't begin to fathom, she keeps mostly contained within an azure beret she almost always seems to wear on her head. Her captivating eyes are of an emerald hue. And yet despite her beauty, she is often looked down upon or mistreated by all those around her. I surmised, through observation, that she is but a mere servant of some sort, though she seems to wish to become a successful and honorable knight. I had learned, through offhanded talk and rumors, that her family had been disgraced at some point in the past and that the girl served here hoping to one day restore her family's name. Through evasdropping as well, I had also learned of her name: "Charlotte."

However, I will admit that she is a bit... Clumsy. And she has little, if any, talent for cooking. She is also not as physically able as the rest of the women there, but she seems to have some amazing competence for the usage of weaponized magics. Aside from that, her skills and grace leave much to be desired.

And yet, despite all of her shortcomings, despite all of the hardships she has to face, and despite all of the nigh unwarranted hatred and insults flung at her on a regular basis, she still smiles and keeps that hopeful gaze in her lovely eyes.

Something familiar stirred in my heart as I grew to notice this about her.

She's always so kind and polite to most around her. Easily flustered as well, I've found, which I must admit that I find... Somewhat adorable. She wears her heart on her sleeve more often than not, which is often to her detriment. But she tries so hard to prove her worth, and still maintains her spirit...

It didn't take long for me to realize why I've taken a liking to her. She's a lot like me in several key ways. But whereas she continues smiling no matter what she goes through, I've allowed myself to grow colder and more reserved.

I've since taken to lending her a helping hand with her chores every now and then if just to establish any connection at all with her. Even when I'm not present at her side, I keep tabs on her most of the time and make sure she stays out of trouble. They say that birds of a feather flock together, though how could one so lowly as I ever hope to fly alongside one as magnificent as her? No, perhaps it is best that I maintain my distance and simply keep her safe. Look after her best interests and all of that nonsense.

To be frank, I'd love nothing more than to put away my sword and take her away from this life. Then, I could build the both of us a simple home in some far away, peaceful land and we could live out the rest of our days happily in tranquility. Ah, but this is nothing more than a laughable pipedream. Such things are not meant to be. We live in two different worlds: She is but a humble servant kept relatively safe from harm. I'm nothing but a dog of war, tainted by the battlefield. And who in their right mind would ever return the affections of a beast such as I?

Thus, for the time being, I lend my sword to these Harem Knights of Teegee so that I can have a reason to remain close to her. Maybe I can make some sense of my conflicting feelings this way, staying nearby. At the very least, Charlotte herself seems to appreciate my company which is a first in my lifetime. Perhaps I, too, can claim her as my "waifu" someday. Only time will tell.

I don't know, I just feel like a lot of the stories lost the tongue-in-cheek vibe that made the first threads so hilarious.

I was thinking what we wrote during the hard months, remember this one? The [DRINKING SONG]?
http://vocaroo.com/i/s0HpxwOQLv8T

Join in lads!

Oh I remember a time, Seems so long ago

That all our adventures were in our minds

and women caused us woe.

Then the Wizard, mad was he, sucked us all made us all to go

Into a winter wonder hell, But then with voices low....

we- de- clare- d

we are knights, we are adventurers!

We are men, we are Romancitors!

And we will live for all the world to hear!

that All we want is to rub elf ear!

We are Bros we are masculine
The whole worl knows that we are saving them

Grasp tight close, what you hold dear!
We are Harem knights! And for waifus we are here!
>>
>>20677423

Well that was certainly a fault of mine. I am no good at writing humor. Life as the Homeguard Captain is not a funny one, sorry about that.
>>
The tale at which a knight takes, or is given, his name is sometimes as important a one as his waifu, be they his first or last.

The tale of mine? Well, I prefer to start at the beginning as many of us have with our sagas. I am, as many of us are, an Outrealmer. I come from the place that was at one time itself, called The New World, and it was there, where a new nation began, that i grew. this was many years after the nation was founded, Living a normal life of my time as many of us had. Being torn from that world, where i'd friends, family, a living, even someone i was close to, it was, a difficult hurdle to get over. The Winter? It was harder still. Sure, i grew in a place where we had long heavy winters, but i was always inside, with heavy blankets, oil heating or a fireplace to keep me warm after i'd been outside.

I did not accomplish anything fantastic or of note during those times, i only scavenged what food i could, lived, barely at that, in fear of what slew our people in the woods. When our Felim friends saved what remained of us? I was among those that wept with joy. When i was back up to my old form, lean and light, with not as much as a belly i had before (The lack of mountain dew and pizza will do that), I too was among those that picked up a weapon, strapped ourselves with what armor we could quickly craft or find, and march into those woods. I wasnt lucky enough to get something of steel or iron, all i had was a club, fashioned from a thick branch, slowly carved to a good shape. I know i could brain someone good with it, if i really wanted to. I saw the many dead the elves had left behind, some of them friends i'd made during winter. I Really Wanted to.
>>
>>20677423

Ah, okay. Anything else or is it just the missing tongue-in-cheek vibe?

I kind of like the semi-serious depiction of some stories. I wanted to write about a grimmer side of the things, but then again people will just go "hurdurr grimdark" so I think I'll leave the writing to the professionals.
>>
>>20677747

We're all bros here. You want to write a grimmer side to the Kingdom of Teegee? Go for it. We want to read it.
>>

Aye. Let's see it.

>>20677493
I think that's the biggest thing missing. As much as I like laying out a solid setting to work with, making the stories overly serious and especially making them grimdark goes against the tone of the original, where the game plan was "booze, bros, and waifus". I was writing the stories about what the life of an average Harem Knight might be like, but I also tried to keep it insightful to the setting and toss in a joke or two where appropriate.
>>
>>20677759
>>20677793

No, >>20677798 is right.

It isn't setting appropriate. Carry on gents.
>>
>>20677747
I don't want to stifle anyone's creativity here, but one of my favorite things about the original idea WAS that it was generic high adventure, just in the pursuit of waifus and the amusing justaposition between actual denizens of this realm and the Kingdom of Teegee. The whole elven genocide thing and other stuff kinda took me aback, but its whatever you want to write, man.
>>
>>20677842

I understand mate, like I said, I'll write them for my own personal reading pleasure, and leave the public writing to the professional.
>>
>>20677472
I marched with a group of us, and our Felim allies, bless them for fighting with us that day. We had a small skirmish with what seemed to be a scouting party. We lost two of our number, but the remaining of my group pressed on. Now somewhat better armed and armored from scout's bows and blades, baring myself with my crude weapon, we broke the last bit of treeline and saw the home of our long hated harassers. It was there, i'd made my first kill.

There was an elf, bit of a tall fellow, red hair cut short, he had a short blade, a vicious looking leaf bladed one, with a long kite shield of wood with some sort of banner on it. I could not take him on an open field on a good day, he knew it, and I did, however, this was a very close fight. He was fighting against another of our number, the elf quickly sinking his blade between the man's ribcage, he made his first mistake, in a cruel act, he twisted his blade, causing the man great pain, but, when i came from his side, he could not draw the blade out, the leafed blade, caught in the bone. He raised that shield in time, once i crashed against it, Twice, the third i'd put to much into, and the both of us came tumbling down, we both lost grip on our weapons, wrestling on the ground in a flurry of fists and hate. His hand clamped down on my face, grasping my jaw, while i grabbed his own with both of mine, seeking soft parts to squish and break. His eyes fit the bill. Next was to strike the blinded elf in his stupid smug face. I swung hard, cutting my knuckles as i bashed my fist against his head, the first, a solid strike, the second, broke his nose, the third, and following ones, hit his left temple, again, and again, until i lost count.
>>
I don't mind a different tone from different writers for this setting. Not like we're declaring all stories to be canon so we got a mix of grimdark and silly. If they want to write silly, let them write silly and post it here. If they want to write grimdark, let them write grimdark and post it here. Besides, we did break off from the original premise since the first thread had us appear in a human village and the group was going to find an elf/lamia village, but now the setting has the men of Teegee being teleported to an abandoned fort and having some cat people find them.

Let he who wishes to write write how he wishes.
>>

I fought well the rest of that battle, not managing to cut down any more elves as i had, but I gave what assistance i could. The battle was one, and though we didnt know at the time, peace was at long last ours. the forest, measurably safer. When we picked through what salvage was left after the battle, while others busied themselves with the female elves, i found that smug elf again, the corpse he'd slain long dragged off, but his remained. His shield saved him twice from a blow that coould've crippled or killed him, so better it serve me now. His old banner was not mine to wear though, so, when we'd returned to the castle for revelry and celebration for our victory, I spent some time with a course stone to rub it away, when i wasn't feasting with my brothers-at-arms.

It's because of that story, that i've this one to tell, a blank shield, and a nameless knight.
>>
>>20677971
This was a time after the elves, when Castle Waifu was prospering well, with immigrants and traders alike traveling through our now safer roads.

I myself was in fair shape better, more muscle, more tan, my old club traded from a mace of iron and steel. I always thought of why i chose something heavy and blunt over a sharp sword or spear, maybe it is because i'd never thought i could put enough of myself into a sword to cause enough damage, when a heavy mace could be swung hard, gravity doing its due to main and smash through flesh and armor. My armor grew as well, some heavy cloth to chainmail, and even a nice breastplate and helmet. I was as close to a knight as i could get, and as i looked to the others, with loved ones, wives of elf, lamia, harpy, and many more, I too felt that empty feeling that something, someone, was missing to me.

I saddled a horse, gathered field supplies, and bid my fellow Harem Knights safe tidings ahead, for when next i returned, I would be a true Harem Knight.

I was wrong of course, though I didnt not know that.

Man, no love for my drinking song...

>>20677842
Genocide? It was hardly that. We simply cleared the central garrison of the hold of 500 soldiers with our superior numbers in a surprise attack. The rest in outlying outposts had fallen back to more central elements of the Elven Realm.

The whole point though, of telling and retelling the Hard Months is to remind us, while this world isn't perfect, even crapsack, our very presence makes it better. As much of a stick-in-the-mud I can be, in the end, we're making the world better, damn the crapsack. Hardship is a fact of life, it's really what we make of it that we can overcome and turn Grimdark into NOBLEBRIGHT!

I lazily awoke from my slumber after a long, peaceful night’s sleep.

At least, that’s what I would like to say. Instead, I was ripped from my slumber in the middle of the night as a form dropped on my stomach with a WHOMP. I jolted up from my bed, right into Skrii’s chest as she wrapped her deceptively slender arms around me, leathery wings folding around me. I returned the impromptu embrace and we simply sat there in each other’s arms for a while.

“Rise and shine, ‘brave sir knight’” she finally taunted in a barely audible whisper, her half-cocked grin the only thing visible underneath her mess of hair “Sryssa’s been awake for hours now and Namaxil made us all breakfast. Shame if I had to eat your share.”

“Shame indeed, you’re starting to get heavy” I teased back without missing a beat. “Are you sure you can even fly anym-ouch! I thought you said you were a fruit bat.”

“Wuzzat say about you?” she smirked, blood trickling faintly down the corner of her mouth as well as my neck.

“Har, har, now let’s go eat some real food, yeah?”

Even back in the Far Realm, I was always more of a night owl, staying up until odd hours of the morning simply because I had nothing better to do. It seemed like a natural fit to take up duties as night guard after we all got teleported here. Even now, I wake up a few hours after dusk with not but faint candle light to navigate my house by. Of course, that now has as much to do with the girls’ sensitive, nocturnal eyes as it does with personal preferences. Following the smell of eggs and bacon cooked to perfection, we joined the others without further ado. Or at least, we would have if I didn’t get clotheslined by a thick strand of webbing perfectly at eye level.

“Again, Nama? There is no way you aren’t doing this on purpose.”

The arachne merely closed all eight eyes and offered me a smooth carapaced hand, giving me an apologetic smile and an unapologetic giggle “Sorry, dear. Old instincts die hard, you know. Speaking of…” she trailed off, stroking my brand new neck wound, “…it looks like SOMEONE beat me to breakfast…” eliciting a victorious “Hee.” from the offending batgirl.

“No, no, it’s all cool. Go right ahead” I assured her “It’s just my blood and all. Not like I need that or anything.”

“You’re the best, honey!” Namaxil cooed and she gave me a ‘kiss’. And let me tell you, spiders don’t fuck around when it comes to kissing. I really am a sucker when they ask me for favors, even though they’re usually the ones doing the sucking.

Feeling more than a little lightheaded, I finally plopped down at the table and sluggishly shoveled food in my mouth, feeling ready to go right back to bed.

“C’mon lazybones! We got the whole night ahead of us! Ain’t we supposed to be going out and tacklin a lich or something tonight?” Skrii scolded lightheartedly.

“Well aren’t you just being a busta tonight.”

At this, Sryssa’s ear twitched and she immediately jumped into the conversation.

“Busta? What’s that? It’s something from the Far Realm, isn’t it?”

I shook my head and laughed. Normally as proper and reserved as Skrii wasn’t, Srys just couldn’t contain herself whenever it came to the Far Realm. She was absolutely captivated by it, demanding stories from and explanations. She often sat in on Castle Waifu, trying to absorb as much outrealmer culture as possible and asking me to translate what she couldn’t understand. Which was quite a bit, really. In fact, it was because of her fascination with the Far Realm that we even met in the first place.

I was probably one of the worst off when it came to the Great Vanning, as it had come to be called. Others might have been lucky to have machete or a first aid kit or even just a pocket knife with them. I didn’t even have pants. Instead, I had to make do with just a bathrobe, a pair of sunglasses, and an mp3 player. Not exactly the best survival kit. I probably wouldn’t have survived the first winter if it weren’t for scavenging the dead, as ignoble as it was. Once the felims showed up and things started to turn out for the better, I decided not to push my luck and didn’t go out adventuring, opting instead to just stick with guard duty for Fort Waifu. It was an easy enough job. Being nocturnally inclined, I took the night shifts on a nice vantage point bordering the shrieking mountains so that I didn’t have to pay all that much attention. Instead I just brought my mp3 player with me and listened to a song or two as I would zone out for a bit. I know, I know, this is the worst kind of thing to do when people’s lives are in your hands, but there were other guards around and no bandits had even so much as passed through the area yet, so I got a little sloppy and complacent. It was exactly because of this complacence that it took me a second to realize that I had been forcibly hoisted off the ground and was now soaring through the air. Though to be fair, I wouldn’t have heard her coming anyways, or so Skrii claims.

So there I was, being abducted to gods know where to be the meal of gods know what screaming bloody murder to the night sky and trying to break free and the only assistance I got in return was the legs that had caught me gripping tighter until I didn’t have enough air to make a fuss, forcing me to spend the rest of the trip in stunned silence, listening to the near silent leathery flapping that seemed to surround me. I had just begun to adjust to the disorientation of soaring upside down through the air when I felt the world fall out from underneath me and I landed unceremoniously on my rump. I sat as still as the stone that I had landed on as I listened to the voices in the darkness, waiting for my eyes to adjust.

“Hah! Toldja I could do it.”

“Skrii! I just wanted to talk to one, not steal one!”

“Well he’s right there. Get ta talkin’, why doncha?”

“Are you sure he’s one of them?”

“Don’t you doubt yer old pal Skrii now, Srys. Course he’s one. He’s dressed all goofy and he’s got that thing attached to his head. Just look at it! No way that’s from around here.”

At this time I blinked away the darkness to find myself face to face with the most beautiful face, bordered by short black hair and odd yet beautiful face paint decorating her features and two pointed fuzzy bat ears sprouting from the top of her skull. We sat there contemplating each other in stunned silence, me secretly wondering how good her eyesight was if she had to be that close to get a look at me, until her friend coughed from the other side of the cave.

“Oh yeah, this is a good talk. We are learning a lot here. Totally worth me risking life and limb over this right here.”

“I never asked you too, you know.”

“Yeah, but you wanted it and we’ve had each other’s backs for long enough now you should know how I am. Now is this one good enough or do I need to go snatch up another? I wouldn’t blame you, this one’s awfully wimpy.” I noticed my abductor was wearing a sallet that was about two sizes too big, her elongated fingers wrapped around a vicious looking javelin. I guess they weren’t sure how I’d react to this. Needless to say I was more than a little nervous.

That got her attention back to me real fast. She locked eyes with me again and drew me back into the same trance. “Are…are you really an outrealmer?”

“Uh….yeah. Yes I am. Why?”

“For real?”

“Yep.”

“No lie?”

“Honest!”

Let me tell you right now, the squeal of an overexciting batgirl is truly a sound to behold. And fear. “SKREEE! You-have-to-tell-me-about-it! The-Far-Realm-right?! Tell-me-EVERYTHING! I-heard-they-have-things-call-computers-that-can-scry-without-magic-and-talk-to-anyone-in-all-the-re
alm-what’s-that?!” she finally came to a stop, pointing directly at my headphones.

“Huh? Oh! It’s an mp3 player-uhh, a portable bard.”

“That. Is. AMAZING.”

Well that was unexpected. I can honestly say that after having my life flipped turned upside down by a wizard, befriending catgirls, being attacked by elves, and even being abducted by batgirls that I didn’t even know was a thing until it happened, I never once in my life expected Teegeeaboos to be a thing. Still don’t really fully believe it.

“You want to listen?”

“…YES.”

And that’s how the rest of the night went. Even Skrii joined in the conversation later on. Apparently, she was what had come to be known as a Outseeker, someone who was far too obsessed with outrealmers and since she and Skrii had never had a proper swarm to call their own, they decided to brave the journey to the burgeoning land of Teegee, still little more than a village at this time. By the time the sun came up, Sryssa had regained her composure, bidding me the farewell that neither of us wanted.

“I do not believe I ever got your name, outrealmer.” Sryssa said warmly as Skrii drew up a map for me to get back to Fort Waifu.

“My name? Uhh…You can call me Kotunn, milady.” I said with an exaggerated bow. It seemed more fitting than ‘Kevin’ at least. Plus it got a flattered giggle out of Sryssa and even a bemused snort out of Skrii.

“Well then, ‘Kotunn’, I do hope you will be able to overlook ”

“Nah dude, it’s all cool. At least you didn’t kill and eat me or something.”

“Perish the thought! Do be sure to visit us again, please.”

“Oh yeah, totally, totally. No way in hell Im gonna leave you two all by your lonesome uo here. You know, you could just come with me. There’s plenty of room back at the fort, you know…”

“I would love to, but I could never leave Skrii all on her own.”

“Well then drag her along! I was inviting both of you. Like I said, plenty of room.”

“Oh I don’t know…Skrii, what do you think?”

She flashed her cocky little grin from under the shade of her sallet. “Not like I got a choice with you flitting at the chance.” prompting Sryssa to jump forward and hug her emphatically.

“Oh, thank you thank you thank you! You are the best, Skrii!”

“Yeah, I know.”

“I’ll go pack our things!”

“Well that’s a relief” I chimed in “Because I cannot read Skrii’s map for shit.”

“What, you’ve never seen an airway map before?”

“I can’t fly.”

“Oh yeah. …shit. Ah well, we’ll figure this out tonight.”

“Tonight? I kinda need to go now. It would be pretty fucking shitty if a search party dies out there looking for me and I was up here living it up with two bat chicks.”

“So what’s Sryssa s’posed to do? Just go blind?”

Inspiration struck me as I patted myself down, seeing if I still had them on me. Luck was with me that day, for when Sryssa ran out to the edge of the cave to see why I hadn’t left yet, I was able to present her with my old sunglasses.

“W-what’s this?”

“Relic from the Far Realm. Keeps the sun out so you can leave for Teegee right away. Of course, you don’t have to if you don’t want to, but I personally would love the company. Either way, keep the thing. I don’t much need it since I’m mostly only up at night anyways.”

I left her standing there in stunned silence and began to trudge home, figuring they could catch up if they decided to travel with me. I honestly should have expected it, but back then I didn’t know those two as well as I do now, so when Sryssa dive-bombed into my back, all I could do was get knocked over in surprise.

It was quite the tale, but the REAL measure of quality comes from telling your tale, and people accepting it. The Shovel launcher is a real thing, and people go along with that.

I was the OP to the last thread (and this one), so I suggested a darker beginning (but all the brighter ending) and people seemed to like it. I couldn't tell because people said "great job!" I could tell because I people seemed to like it and incorporate it into their own stories.

“Kiireps don’t walk very well; you’ll have to carry me.”

“Skrii’s walking just fine. Well, not fine, but she’s managing alright” I protested, nodding at the other batgirl tromping awkwardly on her thin legs, javelin resting on her shoulder.

“Oh come now, don’t you want to carry me to your village, brave outrealmer” she buried her head against my shoulder as I struggled to my feet, “besides, I’m very light…”

I sighed. Like I said, I’m a just a huge sucker when they ask me for favors, even when we first met. “Fine, just don’t fly off with me again.”

“No promises.”

And from there it's writefaggotry upon writefaggotry? Nifty. I'll think about something. Is there a certain format to follow? Is it all covered by the mediafire link and the intro of that first thread?
>>
>>20679345

That mediafire links give a map and a description of the other races, so it can help you if you need it. Beyond that, do as you wish. I might write something soon.
>>
>>20679361
Well all righty then, looks like I've got reading to do. Enough sage from me, have an age.
>>20679315
Tarrasquemas?
Oh crap, speak of the devil that was yesterday.
>>
>>20679315

No, but there are some important events in the writefaggotry that could logically become holidays:

The day of being sent into the new land
First meeting the cat people (it happened in winter, and they gave us stuff to survive. Christmas equivalent, anyone?)
That time we killed all those elves
Forming the Harem Knights
>>
>>20679434

Wouldn't it be a Thanksgiving equivalent.
>>
>>20679434
>>20679444
Earsday, the day Sir Gavran declared he was going to find an elf and rub her ears. Its a day where no one adventures and everyone spends all day with their waifus, cherishing them. Ears are rubbed, snakes are hugged, and fluffy tails are touched to your heart’s content, all on Earsday.
>>
You see kid my story is similar to a lot of the other Knights. We are all cut from a the same fabric but each has a theme woven into theirs. My theme is luck. Luck is a funny thing. It can make the gloomiest situations just a little bit brighter. In my case on of the luckiest things that happened to me was that it was pouring rain outside. I always liked the rain it gave me a chance to wear my “badass long coat”, it was a light tan and outfitted with gold buttons and navy epaulets. I had always liked it and used any excuse I could to wear it. This is where luck gets funny the next best thing that happened was a car accident. Due to inclement conditions another driver skidded and pushed me off the road and speeded off, even though I was uninjured I was fairly certain my life was ending. My car was trashed after running into a stump. Pissed, I grabbed my bag and walked into a McDonalds nearby. I dialed AAA and while waiting ordered some food and logged onto their Wi-Fi.

Here is the part everyone knows. Surfing around the Internet, clicking a simple link on an anonymous chat forum resulted in the unthinkable, a portal opening up to a strange parallel dimension. After falling through a multicolored tunnel I awoke under a clear blue sky, sweet tea still in hand. Yet strangely enough there were others there as well. Hundreds of men all with similar stories of clicking a link and being transported here, time of click did not matter all arrived at the same time. The only structure that stood anywhere in the area was a large, dank, deserted castle. Later discoveries would reveal it to be an old wizards tower. With no clear answers to how we all arrived there a unanimous decision was decided, a wizard did it.
>>
Skip some of the boring stuff here. Gathering supplies, setting up living spaces in the castle, hardly surviving winter, losing a quarter of my body weight, getting ass saved by Felim, Felim and Neckbeard dickings, elf dickery. I will stop and tell this part, a magnificent bastard stood up and said “I want to stroke some elf ears”, a ‘grand’ army, the murder of the elf men, the recruiting of the elf women, the formal creation of Castle Waifu(a good celebration indeed) and the first bro-tracts were agreed upon. With this the Harem Knights of TeeGee were founded.

With that massive amount of time out of the way I can get to my real story. Over those couple of months I had made my living quarters a storage closet near a summoning chamber. It was small, warm, and smelt nice. It was one of the fewer private rooms in the castle, most had to share with at least one other, but a cramped closet that no one wanted was a good enough excuse to live alone. I really didn’t mind though standing only 5’7 and weighing around 125 before coming over from Otherworld meant that a small space was well suited for me. Despite having my own room didn’t mean I was a loner or anything, quite the opposite. If there was one thing I was known for it was talking. I could talk for hours on end about anything and people liked it. Besides that being genuinely amicable in personality naturally led to me being well liked by the community as a whole.

Thanksgiving is mainly a USA thing. Christmas is everywhere.
>>
It's been about a year and a half since we arrived in this place. I managed to get my hands on a paper and quill, so I thought I'd try writing down my experiences in this place. It seems to be a popular past time, anyway.

The thing that strikes me the most is the melding of culture. As I'm writing this, I can hear a Felim outside playing a Johnny Cash song. He even has most of the lyrics right. Most of us have gleefully accepted our new home, some venturing out and coming back with tales of their exploits. Others are content to stay inside our borders, doing whatever they're best at. I'd never managed to hold down a real job in the old world, so I mostly wandered until I found someone who needed an extra set of hands. Nowadays I work for whoever's lacking in manpower, and I've been faring rather well.

And before I forget, I should mention the RPGs. You'd think that being suddenly transported to a world of catfolk and elves would remove the desire for D&D, but it hasn't slowed down in the slightest. In retrospect, I think the games are a way of dealing with homesickness. It's familiar, something we did in the old world. (Though that hasn't stopped our new neighbors from joining in. I don't think Felim are canon in 40k, but it makes it easier for the newbies.)
>>
>>20679546

But Christmas should be a holiday for when the God Emperor descends upon Teegee and gives gifts to all the good human boys and girls.
>>
>>20679461
best holiday EVER.

be very very careful doing this. even though i was successful in getting a dragon waifu i still broke several ribs, got a concussion, and was out cold for a few days, and Rydia is one of the nicer breeds
>>
So is the realm fluff absolute? Or can species of waifu be added? I don't want to impose too heavily.
>>
>>20679748

The catgirls are named as they are because one guy named them so. Add what you want. What do you want to add?
>>
>>20679748
We're basically adding as we go, but pretty much any monster girl/fantasy race is acceptable, as are humans if it gets too exotic for you.
>>
>>20679748
more can always be added. you don't have to go with the same story as everyone else and if you do it's really not that hard to believe that many races simply aren't as numerous as others for whatever reason (low fertility, high death rate, or just don't breed often due to long life)

Having little in the way of crafts skills my only hope for making a name for myself was through adventuring. Taking up the mantle as a bard/rouge, I did carve a minor niche for myself. The two things I always brought with me were my coat and my longsword sized kukri (this elf commander I skewered had it on him, he gave me half a Glasgow smile and three broken ribs, so I think I earned it). With them by my side my parties were always successful. We pillaged dungeons, hunted slavers, made money and got waifus…well except me. You see whenever waifus were to be had I was gracious and allowed my fellows first pick (always making sure first loot was mine however). I mean I had plenty of chances, I had fancied an elf girl and a felim or two, but never really clicked with any of them. I had met Halflings, and kobolds, orcs, and elves yet all were a little stale in my book. The arachne and harpies were a good change of pace but I was looking for a special waifu.

Then my luck finally turned. I had set out into the forests far from home looking for some kind of quest. I had gone alone for a change of pace and really wasn’t looking for anything difficult. Night fell and I made camp. Now in most cases I would have been fine…had I not brought honey with me. A great dire bear attacked my camp. Even though I was a fairly good adventurer I weighed my options fight or flight? Using up what courage I had not shitting myself I turned and bolted. Now I know running from bears is a dumb idea but when one shows up right in front of you roaring there is really little other options. Hurting through the woods at night I dipped and weaved among the trees, thinking this would hinder the bear, I thought wrong, any and all obstacles were run over or run through.
>>
I ran as hard as I could through the overgrowth until I came skidding to a stop near a sheer cliff. Turning around I could see the bear come tearing through the brush. I draw my sword and ready myself. As the bear approaches I roar as loud as I can at the bear, temporarily scaring it. As it starts to approach again I take a few swings, the bony protrusions were able to deflect my blows, but one strike hit home in the bears eye. The bear howled in pain and swung blindly at me. It shredded my chest. Losing blood I try to fend of the bear again, it backs off and begins to charge again full force. I leap to the side and the bear goes careening off the cliff…and catches the edge of my coat dragging me with him. I go falling through the darkness. I hears some branches snapping and then everything goes black.

I awake in a bed. A women in a large billowing dress. She introduced herself as Teakay. She had long flowing brown hair, a pretty face, a figure to die for. She said she found me at the edge of her garden, near the bear, and had brought me inside and tended my wounds. Apparently my coat had caught in a bunch of branches and slowed my fall enough for me to survive. Being a chivalrous knight I offer any material possession she would desire, she refuted the offer, I insisted my services could be of use. With that she mentioned that there was a harvest that needed picking. Teakay had a number of things growing in her garden; sugarcane, grapes, plums, apples and many other plants I couldn’t quite identify.
>>
So for the next few days I spent harvesting the garden. It was fairly easy work, the grove was comfortable, and Teakay was more then welcoming she was funny, smart, a great cooks, a caring personality, and a magnificent host. Took me by surprise when, under that huge dress she was a lamia. I had inquired on the dress and she mentioned that the humans who lived in a nearby village were exceptionally bigoted, she feared I was like they were. They claimed her a monster and barely tolerated her presence near them. When I heard this I really couldn’t help but laugh. So every night before we separated for the evening I would tell her stories of Castle Waifu and how all men and women were equals there regardless of species, the tales of the Arrival, the First Winter, and the sack of the elf village, along with the odd adventuring story thrown in for flavor (she likes those best). The stories brought tears of joy after each telling. In return every time we separated for the evening she would give me a big coil hug, this was my favorite time of the days I spent there. Embraced in a big warm hug, always tight but never painful, nothing could have been a better thank you…or so I thought.
>>
Weeks past and the harvest ended. I booked passage back to Castle Waifu. There was a wagon that Teakay loaded down with fruits. I thanked her for everything she had done for me, as I said this she remembered something and returned to the house. Upon return she held out my coat now repaired better then new, there was not a rip to be found. Brain now seizing I thought of what to do now I went through my adventuring skills; charm, wit, cunning, intellect, insanity. I chose insanity, I threw my arms around Teakay and kissed her, she kissed back and coil embraced me. We rolled around in lovers bliss for a moment until the wagon driver cleared his throat a little loud. Teakay and I bolted upright and blushed a deep red. A quick trip to the house to pack and we rode the wagon back to Castle Waifu.
>>
When we arrived I was cheered as I was found to be alive, being slightly clueless and not telling anyone where I was for a couple of weeks caused some degree of panic. But all was forgiven with the sight of Teakay, she was happily welcomed and cried at the accepting nature of the population of Castle Waifu. For a short time Teakay and I lived in my closet, not a good choice of living quarters for a 15-foot snake-girl, though the need for constant coil hugging was more then appreciated. Pooling a portion of my adventuring loot together I had a nice sized manor built accommodating a bar and shop beneath, we called it the Daily Dose.

We moved in one the eve of autumn. All of the supplies from Teakay’s garden were set for brewing and the shop bought and sold all sorts magical or mundane objects. Cash flow was always steady due to the great hospitality and every summer for a few weeks me and Teakay would return to her old home to grow crops for the next season. I did continue adventuring, more as a hobby then anything else. It kept the store stocked and my sword arm strong, yet I never left for long as to rush home to see Teakay always waiting with a smile.
>>
So you see kid luck is a funny thing. I get in a car accident and I get transported to a magical world. I sleep in a closet but get it all to myself. I get cut up pretty bad and receive a sweet sword and recognition. Then I fight a dire bear and meet the Waifu of my dreams kid. So remember if something seems bad just abide it a bit and something good will show up eventually.

I don't know, I think Holstaurus rolls off the tongue better. Granted, they do appear to be related to minotaurs according to that monster girl encyclopedia thing.

>Summoning's Eve:
A night of feasting in revelry and ear rubbing. A night where those among the ranks of the Outrealmers might tell stories of their past lives in the Old Realm.

>Summoning Day and following 56 days:
A time of sombre remembrance for those who lost their lives during the Hard Months, and any comrade fallen. Harem Knights are expected to either fast or do some act of community service at least once per week, as per code of solidarity, if possible. Giving up vices or personal pleasures during this time is popular.

>Saviors Day:
At the end of the 56 days, there is grand feasting and celebration. Gifts are exchanged, but it mostly a day of giving and cherishing that which we have. Rubbing noses is a customary gesture among couples.

>Day of Union
Celebrated on the day that the Elvish Lord was executed and deposed, carving out a Hold for TeeGee to call its own. Also the first day the Knights made any sort of formal vow, the first of many down the line. It is celebrated with fireworks when available and is a popular day for people to take their vows, both marriage and Knighthood (and sometimes at the same time!) as well as renew them.

Well, that's what I'd vote up for any sort of state holiday, anyway...
>>
Pardon me for inquiring this so late, but what about the reverse? Do monstergirls get to go adventuring for husbandos if they want?
>>
>>20679916
Waifu has been used as a catchall term for waifus and husbandos, but the gist of it is anyone, male or female, who wants to can go out quest for a waifu can.

And if you're one of those certain few who want a husbando, by all means go for it! Who are we to judge?

>>
New question. If a waifu decides s/he wants another waifu of their own, do they get to go out and get one?
>>
>>20680037

All are entitled to a Waifu. Including Waifus. I mean, there's a reason why it's been called a "knightly polygamist cult". Doubt anyone would object, really.

>>20680130

It's just harmless teasing between Waifu and Husbando. From what I've seen, Kikki can more than take it.

But if anyone else insults her, Fearghaile will fucking cut you. With a knife.
>>
>>20680079
>>20680080
That's where I get confused. We have the ability to go get waifus, as do they, but rule 2 states "A man’s Waifu is his Waifu alone, to make a move on another man’s Waifu is the dickest of moves", so is it a thing where we go after the unattached only?
>>
>>20680192

Yes. If your waifu decides to get a waifu, but that waifu is taken, then your waifu cannot have. If your waifu, however, wants a waifu that is not taken, then she may have said waifu.
>>
>>20680192
Bingo, a man's waifu is one where their affection is shared strongly between the two
>>
>>20680205
All right. That clears up everything. Thanks for the help!

Me, I think I'd prefer to be a merchant or a banker instead of an Adventurer. We'll need a lot of them. Or maybe everyone goes adventuring as vacation, with businesses at home for the primary stuff? Maybe I could talk to some of the people who know geology/smelting and we could start a steel production firm.
>>
>>20680243

Do as you wish, and you will find a waifu.
>>
>>20680192
Yes, this is the thing. Most of these rules are coded for a male heteronormative patriarchal point of view. That's what it says, but it's basically interpreted as "Being and having a waifu is an exclusive and mutual pact and anyone encroaching on that without entering into the pact is breaking the rules" In other words, no NTR. I presume you can "break up", no sense two people being together who don't care for one another, but I haven't seen such a thing yet. It's a mutual thing. You can't have one without the other, you see.

>>20680130
I don't know what you're on about, she's Goddamnedfucking Adorable!
>>
>>20680272

Then where are the litters? You need more litters with Kikki.
>>
>>20680272
It also takes place in a fantasy land where true love and waifus exist, so you have to take that into account. My thoughts on the matter were there was never really any conflict because you only felt that “soul connection” with your waifu and never did two people feel the same way about one waifu unless they also felt that way about each other. Hence the harems just kinda naturally cropping up.
>>
Somebody quickly explain to me, what's exactly going on in this thread?
>>
>>20680389

Stories about a setting /tg/ came up with yesterday thanks to a "mage teleports you to fantasy land, what do" thread.
>>
>>20680386
You see, I never got that, the original thread was just "fa/tg/uys dropped into medeval fantasy land, what do"
>>
>>20680421
It all started when one guy responded with
>Find elf girl
>Rub ears
Everything snowballed from there, as /tg/ is wont to do.
>>
>>20680397

So stories about waifus in fantasy lands?

That would explain a pic or two from Dog Days in this thread.
>>
>>20680454
Not quite. Its a setting where an entire kingdom is founded on the principles of adventuring, getting phat loot, bro-ing it up, and acquiring waifus.
>>
>>20680475

Might as well tag along and see where it goes and where it went already.
>>
>>20680475
Founded by fa/tg/uys teleported across space and time at that.
>>
I was out all day and am going to sleep my fellow knights, I came home and saw this thread and must say I am impressed that this is still thriving. I'll more likely than not start working on our novel this weekend. Remember to archive this thread if you want your stories in the book.

To new persons of this thread: feel free to write your own faggotry, preferable with a name, and post it here, try to keep it as canon as possible. If you go a little out of the lines I don't care but if your story wildly differs from the rest it will be cut or amended as needed.

Have fun and exquisite slumber to you all!

Something I just realized. We have lamias (as well as other monster girls) in this setting, but where are they from? Anywhere in particular?

Also, what about the places outside of Teegee? I believe a human kingdom was mentioned in one story.

Shall I continue the periphery tale of Teegees industrial aspects?
>>
>>20682207
Well, I want to know about technological progress of our society.
>>
>>20682207
Do it.
>>
>>20680654
Is there still a possibility of you releasing it professionally?
Once we have given feedback, there should be no harm in trying.
>>
>>20682270
Consider it done.
Remember how i referenced those suits? i have completed the first, and now comes the time to advance ourselves. we may lack mains electricity and other things required to create the tools i desire to create, such as angle grinders and machine presses, but with the knowledge of my fellows and creative application of magic we can overcome any barriers.

Of even more interest is that i have seen true dwarves, and they helped tinker with the forges, making them burn hotter, longer and beat more impurites from our steel, there is no better time than now to bring technology to Teegee.
My more scientific brothers and the women have given me the inspiration, but it is whether or not we can actually create these items that is the difficulty.

It matters not, the harder i work on a less martial project, the easier sleep comes to me, i feel more alive than i have since arriving here, and things can only proceed well from here
>>
Is there any possibility of adding a summary of major events to the OP of the inevitable next thread?

Also, are these mostly just self contained stories or does anyone interact/mention other people's characters in their stories.

I know I could probably find out all of this just reading on my own but my time is limited currently.
>>
>>20682326
There's cameos of other characters.
The elf-ear rubber is seen everywhere and Giovanni seems do be common.
>>
>>20682326
I'd love to have someone mention the Fatwelder! but for the most part mine is self contained, matching the character, there is not enough time in the day to slave away at the forge and socialise at the same time!

Disaster! magic is not the 'wizard did it' limitless power i thought it to be, and providing any sort of power to things is difficult, though several devices have been constructed, namely, oxy cutting torches and welding guns, using a replaceable crystal to power a spell, that releases heat or flames from the tip, are completed, fine cutting tools and anything larger are proving more and more difficult to produce as the days pass, and i fear they may prove past the ability of my compatriots and myself to complete, though i continue to write and draw plans in thick tomes procured for the purpose. I may lack the skill, but perhaps one day, the Decendants of my comrades will find the answers i fail to, though I continue to make adjustments and try to find answers to these problems.

>Time for a quick one during lunch

Melena was one of the last waifus I took into my harem, strange that I had waited so long in retrospect considering I had known her longer than the others. She was with the original Felin that assisted us during our time of hardship, but at the time she was but a child, younger than Bethany, so I could hardly be blamed for not taking her affections as anything more than sibling-like in their nature.

She grew up and filled out well while I was off adventuring, I admit, though I also never understood why she took such interest in me at first. It might have been something with the way I scratched behind her ears just right, and I admit I found her purring a rather endearing feature, though her tendency to jump on me to wake me up in the mornings was less so. She might have felt bad for me, since I admit I had almost resigned myself to my fate when they showed up, but then even the most stalwart among us were wavering by then, by my observations at least.
>>
>>20682378

Angle Grinders and Saws. tools invaluable to the production of steel, and I can find no way to make them operate.
A mage can cast a spell and get the blade to spin, a mage can cast a spell to make almost anything possible, but it is the production of the blades themselves that is proving difficult, a problem i had not considered, to make every tooth on a blade near identical to the others around it.

I have tried making moulds, into which i pour molten steel, i have tried to construct a magical press from stone, getting freinds with magical talent to enchant the workings, but to no avail, although it did lay the foundation for a crude guillotine and press.

however, it is becoming apparent that Magic is not the answer to a lack of Electricity, and i become disillusioned.

All these tools, they require constant Magical refit and maintenance, something we need to avoid, i fear that magic is not as constant nor as reliable as electricity, but if there is some solution to create a magical power generator, it is beyond me. further, creation of plastics and rubber! something i hadn't even considered originally, something i cannot find an answer to, for where and how do i refine oil into plastic? and i have yet to see a tree the sap from which can be used to make natural rubber, let alone synthetic rubber.

I am beggining to experience headaches, as i spend long hours either sitting at my design desk, smoking my pipe and drawing up plans, only to find flaws that no matter how hard i think, i cannot rectify, or hammering steel prototypes in the forge.

i will not be denied. this world deserves the power of industry, and we can provide it. its all a matter of how.

She propositioned me, strangely enough. She had always been a bit tomboyish, or at least tomboyish by human standards, training with the sword and adventuring with several different groups as soon as she was old enough.

One day when I was out at the training field, she called me out with a challenge. A bold move, but not one I was apt to turn down at that time. I had previously mentioned the enchantments a wizard made on my kit some time ago and, I admit, I owe most of my success to them, allowing me to heighten my perceptions and physical attributes in battle, and I was not afraid to make use of them. The stakes were simple: if she wins, I owe her any single request she wants, but it I win, she owes me the same.

Normally I would have abused my enchantments, but, as she was an old friend, I fought fair. Though it was a narrow defeat, it was still a defeat.

Her request for me to take her as my waifu took me back at first, in no small part because I still thought of her as a little girl, despite the fact she had just beaten me, but who was I to refuse a request justly won, even if she did accuse me of throwing the fight later on?

-exert from The Knight-Sergeant's Tale
>>
>>20682450

I grow incredibly tired friends. i have toiled for five years now, and i have very little to show for it.

I built magical armored suits, made a helmet that looked like a space marines for my own suit of armor, which gathers dust on its rack. The only successes i have had in the creation of Industry in Teegee are the Welding tools, Oxy Torch and the Guillotine and presses.

Although there were incidental achievements, like a semi automated printing press and a sort of Archaic typewriter, though the latter is still being adjusted, three years after its almost accidental construction.

of powered tools, i still have naught. though i have had several statements of interest from the dwarves regarding my Design tomes, though typically they were veiled in an insult at the projected craftsmanship of the devices.
Take complements where you can get them i suppose.

I've taken to spending more time with Alesia, learning a little bit more about the way magic works, and i dont think i would have continued through my moments of doubt without her freindship.

Perhaps i should go to the Dwarven mountains, and see what can be learned there, i have done as much as i can here, i was even granted the Title of Engineer, though there are some smaller Felin that mix my assumed title with my given one, calling me "Engineer Fatwelder", its kind of cute, though i suspect they are attempting to annoy me, which in and of itself is amusing.

It is an interesting world in which we live, it is about time i saw more of it.

You've tweaked my imagination. Time for my second contribution to this assembled awesomeness

Extract from the journal of Sir [Still nope. No real names on /tg/]
29th day of Rain's Hand, 5th year after arrival

Today, Fatwelder expressed his concerns at the council, with regards to his lack of progress in the matter of our industry. The council opened this as a debate on the merits of allocating more funding and support to his experiments. As much as I honestly am sympathetic to Fatwelder's plight, I had to play devil's advocate on the issue. As much as I recognise and indeed value his contributions up to this point, I must question if this is truly a road we wish to venture down. The technology of the Old World that we have thus far re-discovered has certainly made our lives better, but while some things, such as internal plumbing, I wholeheartedly endorse, others, I would consider to be a slippery slope.

Although magic has proven to be an un-suitable replacement for electricity, our old methods of producing it are still valid. A steam generator would work as well here as in the Old Realm, but I would object to this on several grounds. It seems silly to talk about 'preserving the setting', when we LIVE in the setting in question, but it's still a valid complaint. For all its hardships, we love this world, every one of us. To introduce industry and machinery to this world would, I feel, take away from that attachment. Plus, steampunk is cool and all, but got played out about four years before Arrival.

More tangibly than such high-minded notions are also the practical concerns of environment, escalation and political repercussions. A combustion generator is all well and good, but when the elves find out about us clear-cutting forests to fuel it, what then? We still know so little of their culture, due to the sorry state they keep their women in and the males we meet tend to attack on sight and fight to the death, with only a handful of exceptions.

Add to that, once we a proper industry going, you just know everyone and their dog-girl is going to copy us! Between the sudden influx of wealth and abundance of goods, not to mention the complete overhaul of education and social class that comes with inventions like the printing press, we'll doubtless see a wave of social upheaval, revolution and general bedlam across the whole continent before long! With the widespread use of factories and the like also comes the inherent pollution issues that accompany industrialisation. Is all this truly worth it, just so our children's children's children can live the life of luxury and idleness we once had? I think not. Look at what this world has given us and compare it to the lives we had before. I know for a fact that I would not go back, if given the choice and many of my brothers would not either.

So, does anyone else have interesting stories to share?
I'm unfortunately really fucking horrible at writefagging.

I don't have any stories at the moment, but I'll throw out a few ideas.

-Pick a region on the map linked in the MediaFire link in OP's post. Write something in that area, possibly from the perspective of someone from Teegee.
--Something set in Midyahs or Servid, maybe?
-A story from the perspective of a visitor to Teegee. How might other cultures in the region see the nation?
-A story about (possibly from the perspective of) a second-generation citizen of Teegee.

That's all I have for now, I hope this gives some inspiration.

I am reading previous thread and it's quite adorable. And fun, I dare say.

I hope this one is as good.

Maybe we could flesh out the raping of the wizard.
There was an idea floating around of us meeting him and him being a dick, causing us to tantrum him to death.
And my idea is that only a few dozen were there at the time and vowed to never speak of it, because the wizard might have been our only chance at return.

I do like the second generation story idea. There would be technological progress in the meantime.

What do we know about the pre-requisites of technology?
I only remember that sulfur is rare and that we keep guns and power well hidden, as a last resort kind of deal.
Then again, there was a story about a dude buying a musket or something. Should we disregard it?
