One and a half years ago, you were a Magical Girl.

But you weren't just a Magical Girl, back then. You were a Warmaster. THE Warmaster of the 9th Incubator.

This rank holds you above every other Magical Girl in Kyuubey's Officio. You are beholden to no one but him; your authority all-encompassing and absolute. You can take assume direct control of any ongoing assignment or cancel it entirety, should you so choose. You can remand or redirect any order, or replace them with your own.

And should the fancy catch you, you can unleash the entire Officio - a thousand Magical Girls - in a full-on concerted assault to literally wipe out an entire continent. That hasn't been done before, of course, not as far as you can remember - but should you get the Incubator's authorization, the entire payroll is at your command.

When the Warmaster's Hand strikes, it strikes with the force of Walpurgisnacht.

An apt expression, definitely. Nothing on earth would be able to withstand something like that.
>>
>>20671486

Another privilege that falls under the purview of being Warmaster is, of course, the authority to say whether a Magical Girl lives or dies, should they be held accountable for their sins by their peers. Any Squad Leader, Captain or Rank Master should be able to mete out their own judgments - but the final decision, of whether or not the accused should be left to atone for her sins or simply have their soul gem shattered as the last resort - well, that falls directly upon your lap.

A dubious honor, you've been forced to make that decision a handful of times, already. You don't keep track, but you think you've judged them to the best of your ability. Those you deemed worthy enough to live, you've let go with a stern warning, and the ultimatum that if you saw them again in the same position, you'd kill them with your bare hands, no trial necessary.

Those you've judged as guilty of their sins, sentencing them to death - well, you've made it a point to be the one to carry it out. You're certainly not required to - the Officio has its own share of bloodthirsty executioners, no matter how Kyuubey tries to clean it up with PR - but you've always insisted to be the one to hold the sword, to be the last thing they see when they finally die. It just wouldn't feel right, otherwise. The burden must be yours, and yours alone.

The fact that you get to keep their skulls afterward doesn't really figure into it, of course.

Not at all.

In any case, that aspect of your duties seem to beckon to you once more, with the existence of Girl A and her little...accident with the Eversor Squads of the third Incubator.

You're not sure what to make of it, really, but you find yourself siding slightly with Girl A. Sure, you probably would have just taken the squad leader with the big mouth - and her skull would've made a nice addition to your collection - but there's something delicious about how thorough Girl A was. How methodical her slaughter. The twenty-one Magical Girls never had time to react.

Well, they did, but they never really got anywhere.

You are Valnikov Kharn, current Warmaster, and you've just come to a stop in front of the Silent Room where Girl A is held. Just like your aide had described, the room itself is under heavy guard, with two Culexus standing on either side of the door, each one armed with oversized riot shotguns. Two Eversors - a crimson-haired one and a blue-haired one - block the door itself, their bladed weapons held tight in their hands, clearly itching to draw them en garde.

The crimson-haired one is a bit more negligent in her pose, frowning as she shifts her weight from foot to foot, her spear glinting dangerously in the fluorescent lighting shining from above. In contrast, the blue-haired one is a picture of fastidious perfection, however. Even her swords are impeccably polished, to a mirror sheen.

And to complete the entire ensemble is the flaxen-haired goddess herself, the Vindicare Rank Master and your rumored replacement. She is unarmed except for the distressed look on her face, the dark rings of sleeplessness circling her warm amber eyes. You hear her whisper your name as you come into view, Malal in lockstep beside you - and the rest of Girl A's Guard visibly snaps to attention as you step ever closer.

"Warmaster Kharn." Mami Tomoe's voice, despite her obvious distress and fatigue, is still warm and smooth like honey, and the curtsey she gives you is made flawlessly. "The prisoner, Girl A, awaits your judgment. But before you decide her fate, I would like to make my appeal for her, right now - and I would like to ask permission to speak freely."

Your aide lets out a small sigh at this, and you turn towards her. She doesn't say anything, nor could you see her expression through the heavy tinting of her visor, but you have the strangest feeling that she's annoyed with this entire thing. No, not annoyed...put off, somehow.

You will have to ask her about that later.

How do you respond to Tomoe Mami's request? You can opt to listen to her pleas, or simply ignore her and push forward with Girl A's judgment.
>>

a proper 'hunt' would be so much more satisfying.

You smile slightly at the expression of firm, if fatalistic determination on Mami Tomoe's face. You're tempted to take advantage of this particular situation - after all, she's made it pretty clear that she's willing to do anything to protect Girl A, including inconveniencing a Warmaster from her duties. That in itself is a violation, you remember, one you're fully justified to punish her for any way you see fit.

Still, as naked as you've made your ambition to get her between your bedsheets, you opt to take the higher path, the harder road. Never let it be said that the Officio's Warmaster left her decisions up to her libido alone - that's quite the ugly way to spoil your legacy, and a sure way to shaming your father. As if he hadn't been disappointed enough in you.

It's after a few moments that you finally reply - and you tell her that you will listen to her appeal, but only after you get the story straight from Girl A, herself. She can join you in the Silent Room You will only make your judgment until you've listened to both of them at length, and no sooner than that.

Tomoe Mami's face brightens at this, beautifully so, and you immediately regret this decision. You have made a grave mistake.

"No takebacks," Malal murmurs quietly to you, as Mami suddenly takes one of your clawed hands and offers profuse thanks. You feel her warm, soft hands on your fleshmetal one, and you wonder if she is just as soft all over.

Yes. No takebacks. Of course. Valnikov Kharn, she is too good for takebacks.

You are so stupid sometimes. Professional, but stupid.

[1/2]
>>
>>20671841
Just checked the archive, I don't think Kharn has mentioned Mami at all during the threads we've been in Siberia. Not even asked how she was doing

Maybe Kharn thinks Mami is dead, because she killed the real one?

Disclaimer, I only checked quickly.
>>
>>20671883

After giving Mami enough time to recover herself, you bid the guards to let you and your retinue pass - and all four Magical Girls on guard duty do so commendably, in strict formation. You see the two Eversors glance at each other, then at Mami - and she nods at them in turn, smiling through her tears. Hmm. You should probably talk to them, sometime, ask them about this golden goddess you're unhealthily obsessing over.

The familiar chill of the Silent Room washes over you as you step through, and you shake your hands at the annoying tingly sensation that seeps into your clawed fingers. You could never get used to that.

The room, besides the prisoner, is empty and unfurnished. It's been recently used, that fact given away by the dried bloodstains at the walls and on the floor. You make a note to have this cleaned - you can't stand filth, not even in cells. Whoever let this grime remain would have to be penalized. You tell Malal to make a note of it, and she does so immediately, tapping letters from her tablet's touch screen.

The prisoner herself is at the farthest end of the Silent Room, chained like an animal. Thick manacles grasping at her wrists and ankles, and one particularly gruesome one encasing her neck. She is held aloft by these chains, and her head is bowed. Her long black hair hanging down her sides, still tied in the thick braids you've seen her sport in the video.

Her Magical Girl costume is filthy as well, the front a dirty, crusting brown. All the blood from her killing spree, you gather.

The doors to the silent Room close with a thud, the multiple locks clicking heavily into place. After that, a choking silence.

How do you proceed?
>>
>>20671885
Well, she is mentioning Mami now.
Kharn decapitating Mami would be a great way of bringing back those 'head' jokes :P
>>
>>20671895

>>
>>20671897

>>
>>20671895
May as well get started. Explain why you are here and then ask for her explanation of the events in question. If she is stubborn, get Mami to convince her to talk.

Given that Murderface has long hair here and short hair in the present. How likely do you think she is going to get a haircut as character development?
>>
>>20671895
Girl A, what the hell kind of name is that anyways, you stand accused of killing 3 squads of allied magi. normally we would simply execute you, but I'm feeling slightly merciful today.

>>20671895
"..So? How do you call yourself? How should I call you when talking to you, mh?"
>>
>>20671895
"So, my little murderer, do you know who i am?"

Since we're likely to get a quiet glare, have Mami introduce us, and ask if there's anything she has to say in her own defence.
>>
>>20671914
You know, QB has mentioned repeating memory loss. However Kharn hasn't mentioned anything about that.
....
Yea character development.
>>20671903
Second this. We have no patience for diplomatic crap, and neither does her.
>>
>>20671895
Approach Girl A, gently raise her face to look her in the eyes.

"Girl A, we finally meet. You caused quite a stir around the office.

Killing three Eversor squads, rather impressive. It was beautiful but completed unpolished. You are unrefined and graceless, if only you could see what you could become.

When I look at your face all I see is murder and crusted blood.

Now convince me not to punish you in accordance to your crimes. Tell me what happened, tell me why, defend yourself. Tell me what makes your life worth saving."
>>
Being ironically cheerful, yet grim. For example, bang on the wall and greet her poltely, comment on that *awesome* (murder) party she threw, and then put a little force into it, demanding why.
>>
>>20671895

firstly, she acted out of the mission objective
secondly, she brutally(read: beautifully) murdered no less than 3 squads of allied magical girls (try not to sound impressed)
thirdly, she has given her warmaster one giant pain to deal with.

why should we have mercy on her now?

Girl A might not want to answer.
keep Mami quiet if she tries to speak.

Just for the hell of it, I thought I'd make a check list of Homuras various powers, skills and abilities whill at 100%

Just to illustrate how retardidly over powered she is and how far we have to go until we're back on top form.

Powers:
[] Time stop. Ability to stop the flow of time at will.
[] Telekinesis. Power to move objects with the power of her mind.
[] Flight. Limited ability to fly and levitate. (Sometimes accompanies by manifestation of wings)
[] Psychic shield. Able to create wall of psychic energy capable of blocking both physical and supernatural attacks.
[] Healing/Regeneration. Able to instantly repair physical damage to some degree.
[] Superhuman speed and strength. Magically altered body capable of above human physical feats.
[] Functional immortality. Able to regenerate any injury, even regrow/replace entire body if destroyed as long as soulgem survives.

Special Skills:
[] Highly skilled in CQC.
[] Master of armed combat.
[] Expert marksman.
[] Expert with munitions and explosives. (skilled in creating munitions and explosives)
[] Expert strategist.
[] Mastery of all weapons.

Equipment:
[] ALL the weapons. (yes, I mean EVERYTHING)

All of these are demonstrated in the manga and anime. (did I miss any?)

You ask Malal quietly if she is at all conscious, or if the ones who'd captured her had put the boots to her before doing so. Malal replies quietly that Girl A should be conscious, yes. She'd also seen the blue Eversor outside give her a few kicks to the ribs while Girl A was being interred in the Silent Room, as well.

Hnh. You'll have to talk to the Eversor outside about that. You tell Malal to make a note of it, and she does so immediately. You turn towards Mami, and place a clawed finger up to your lips - telling her discreetly to keep quiet. She couldn't have nodded any faster.

Taking a deep breath, you step forward, your bladed feet clanking loudly upon the metal grating of the floor. Girl A dangles quietly in front of you, her face at eye level, her hair concealing her face in shadow. The chains restraining her clinking softly together as you approach.

You frown, slightly. Normally, you'd be able to feel something coming from the girl. Some sort of killing intent, maybe, or perhaps even a hint of her emotions bubbling up to the surface, permeating her like an aura, a stench. This close to her, it should hit you like a sledgehammer.

There is nothing. Absolutely nothing.

The only time you've experienced this is when you first met Malal, and owing to her...condition, that was understandable.

But here...nothing. Just a void.

You shake these doubts momentarily out of your mind and begin to speak, your voice calm and modulated as it echoes in the cold, silent room. You greet her, and in subdued terms tell her that you're impressed with what she'd done - three Eversor squads, all by herself. Beautiful, but unpolished. Inspiring, yet flawed. If only she could see what she could become - instead of the unrefined and graceless creature you now see before you.

You tell her bowed, shackled form that all you see when you look at her face is death. Murder and crusted blood.

You end your words with a request, with a tone that brooks no debate. You tell her to convince you not to punish her in accordance to her crimes. You command her to tell you what happened - for her to defend herself.

You order her to tell you what makes her worthless life worth saving.

Nothing. Cold, utter silence from Girl A.

You frown at this, and step forward, until you are directly facing the shackled girl.

Close enough to hear her labored breathing. Close enough to smell the blood in her breath, the tang of the dried blood on her costume.

It's only after a moment that she replies. Lifting her head slightly - her dark purple eyes, glazed over with pain, hunger and sleep deprivation, peeking out of from behind a pair of crimson glasses. Both lenses sporting hairline cracks.

"She called Mami-san a whore," Girl A murmurs. "They laughed at her like it was some sort of joke." A shallow intake of breath, a weak cough. "I didn't think it was a very funny joke."

"W-Warmaster, I can explain..." Mami volunteers, but you shush her with a glance.

How do you proceed?

>>
>>20672265

Have Girl A repeatedly explain what led up to this incident in full detail. Leave nothing out. In the previoud threads it was established that Kharn had reason to be suspicious of the Third Incubator requesting help for a purge and still sending in three squads when only one would have sufficed.

See if we subtly pry and see if Girl A picked up on this on her own or if she overheard something to back up these suspicions. Or, you know, if she really only killed twenty one girls because they insulted Mami.

You find yourself smiling at her curt explanation of the murders she'd carried out. To you, certainly, this would be enough - but Malal is beside you, as well as Mami Tomoe. Their presence here means that you need to be thorough, at least in this instance. You need to be clear about this, to leave no doubt in your judgement.

Just as well, you think. It is not as if you are in a hurry - and you want to find out more about this 'Girl A' and how she came to deal the Third Incubator's forces such a grievous blow. All by herself, at that.

Reminding Mami Tomoe once more that she must remain quiet as a mouse, you tell Girl A that you agree with her. Calling someone like Mami a whore - that is the most heinous of crimes, a slander from the festering tongue of Beelzebub himself. Who could look at such a beautiful, pure-hearted maiden like Mami Tomoe and call her such? You would have done the same, no question. Skulltaker would have parted that impertinent Eversor's head from her neck before she even heard the chainblade coming. To insult someone so soft, so warm, so fluffy, so irresistible--

Malal coughs politely beside you, while Mami turns away, visibly trying to keep herself composed while blushing as red as a tomato.

...Ah, right. You were getting carried away. You shake your head at this, before directing your attention back to Girl A, who seems to be looking at Mami as well. Was it longing, or something else? You cannot say, for now, but it does look similar to the look the other girls give the blonde one when the think she is not looking.

You call her attention back to you with a clap of your hands, the noise of crashing metal sharp enough to startle Mami. Girl A, however, merely turns towards you, and you ask her to continue her confession. Surely she has more reason than that, you say. Or did she really slay twenty-one souls just because of that comment?

A moment of silence, and it's then that the accused speaks again.

"They were cowards," Girl A murmurs. "They fell back whenever we came in contact with the enemy. Ignored Mami-san when she tried asking for help." A growl underlines her words now, and the chains holding her up rattles just a bit louder. "Laughing. Every single one of them. I didn't want to hear them laughing anymore."

It's then that she looks at you, directly, through the broken lenses of her glasses. Her purple eyes sullen, yet sharp. Dull, yet piercing.

"I don't hear them laughing any more." She says quietly, as if suddenly coming to that conclusion. "I like it better this way."

You turn towards Malal, who only shrugs, as if to say 'hell if I know'.

It seems that your prisoner is a bit uncooperative. She's given you some answers, but not all of them satisfying.

How do you proceed?

You must surely know more than that. It is clear that you are not eager to elaborate on what happened... but keep in mind that you are not the only one at stake here. For such a grevious blow to an incubator, there *must* be recompense or retribution on our part. Though you may not care what happens to you, it may be that the incubator may demand a full accounting for *everyone* involved in that incident.

I can only help you, and Mami, as much as you can help me. The more details you provide on the incident, the easier it will be for me to ensure that both of you are safe.

>>
>>20672720

You sigh inwardly at the rather glacial pace this questioning is going. You're really not the sort to play word games with people you need answers from - you're from Russia. Your father managed an entire gulag on his own. He taught you that the best way to make someone talk involves steel nails, a length of good solid wire, and a fresh car battery. Failing that, a selection of excruciation knives, which he himself forged from the steel of a tank's corpse. You still have the set somewhere in your room.

After a moment, you decide to give you a complete report of the mission. From time of insertion to extraction. If she's not feeling up to replying to your specific questions, then perhaps something a bit more broad will get you what you need.

And surprisingly enough, it does. The delivery was a bit more robotic than you'd like, but she describes the mission with quite the attention to detail. Up to the second, she enumerates everything happening - from the rather chaotic breaching of the building's security to each and every kill Mami's squad made in the purging. She even kept track of the kills made by the Eversor squads - and while they did a commendable job of sealing all the exits, them actually doing any actual purging was seldom mentioned by Girl A.

It was when she describes her breaking away from Mami's Squad that her descriptions become a bit more...off. You can't quite place it, but you see her eyes seem to unfocus as she describes, in the same soft, quiet voice, her hearing one of the Eversor Squad Leaders mention Mami in such an uncharitable fashion. She describes, in the same deadened tones, what the Leader said exactly what they were going to do with Mami after they ambush her squad from behind. Mami was to be spared, the rest destroyed as quickly as possible.

>>20673017
Is it any wonder that QB was questioning Murderface's competency and whether he should simply cut his losses in relation to her?
>>
>>20673002

She describes how she kills them in short, simple sentences. Stopping time, placing the muzzle of her firearm a hair's breadth away from their faces, their torsos, kill zones that should inflict the maximum amount of pain before death.

The last one was the transgressor. The one responsible for the deaths of her fellows.

It's here that Girl A smiles as she recounts how she forgoed the use of her ability in this kill - instead, she opted to smash the Eversor's brain open with a baseball bat riddled with nails. She notes, here, that it was a very satisfying kill to make.

She then continues on to detail the rest of the assignment, but you stop listening there. You dimly hear her describing how she linked back up with Mami's Squad, and how they purged the rest of the floors by themselves, with the blonde one completely unaware what her charge had done.

...It's a hard story to believe, but what other explanation is there? If Girl A was lying, then this was the most creative lie you'd ever heard. One with video evidence, at that.

You turn to Mami Tomoe, gesturing silently at Girl A with a clawed hand.

"...It is as she says, Warmaster." Tomoe says after a moment, nodding. "Her description of the assignment is accurate. I...we thought it was simply them being thorough on the floors we left as we continued the purge, but they never once came to our aid, even after repeated requests." She shakes her head. "When she linked back up with us, we assumed that she'd gotten lost, and continued our purge despite one of us being injured."

Well. That clears up the picture, some.

How do you proceed from here? Do you judge her now, or ask Girl A a few more questions?
>>
>>20673017

One question.

What about the MG's that were 'taken prisoner'?

What state were they in, how did they act, ect.

Otherwise I think it's clear that A thought she was acting in self defence, and it's not hard to believe that the Eversor squads planned a betrayal when you look at their lack of aid.

That's what the report said. It may be that Murderface squirreled away one or more of their Soulgems for whatever reason. If she does have one, then that could be a boon to any investigations that are conducted on this matter.
>>
>>20673137
It's the Silent Room and it was probably like that when she got there.
>>

>She describes, in the same deadened tones, what the Leader said exactly what they were going to do with Mami after they ambush her squad from behind. Mami was to be spared, the rest destroyed as quickly as possible.

>>
>>20673149
That part was on the security video. They're all dead, dead as dead can be.
>>
>>20673052
Tell her that if she wanted to be helpful to Mami, she should have talked about the impending betrayal from the 3rd's Eversor squads. And that she should stop being such a dead weight pulling Mami down with her.

Ask her about the supposedly captured MG's. Were there even prisoners that were rescued at all?
>>
Ok first things first, have Malal pass along the news of the double cross while we interrogate this girl some more. Ask her why she went to see them and how she knew something was up, ask her where she got her powers from and most importantly what Mami means to her. She obviously does not care for anyone even herself and yet she brutalized nearly two dozen meguca for them threatening her superior

Also ask her if she had anything to do with this room, the pair of eversors outside and ask Mami what she thinks of this whole situation

It was all a setup. They asked for backup so they could have our guys do all the work, and then stab them in the back when they were done.

After this interrogation we should confer with QB. I think deciding whether to go to war with another Incubator, and an allied one at that, should get the boss' approval first.

Or, we could use what evidence we have to force them to admit to either being traitorous or incompetent - even if they deny the backstabbing strenuously, the remaining evidence only points to them being incompetent otherwise.

Why do we never get this kind of initiative out of the other girls?
>>

Yes, yes! Many questions.
I say (too late) we leave the Silent Room, give a very long look that says 'you're in the shit' to the blue Eversor outside, and consult with qb - leaning towards letting this 'Murder you in the face' GirlA go
>>
>>20673331
Makes sense. Remember Malal saying one squad was enough for a purge? They called three and Mami's in to let Mami's squad take the brunt of the purge, then capture Mami and destroy the rest of her squad.

The conspiracy goes all the way to the 3rd Incubator's Warmaster. Time to pay her a visit.

This girl...she is not at all right in the head, you think. Of course, you can say the opposite about a precious few in the Officio, and one of them is standing beside you, wringing her soft, warm hands, the luster of her brilliant blonde hair still enchanting even in the cold, murky light of the Silent Room.

But even then, you cannot help but feel that something horrible had taken place inside this girl's mind...as if it had been savagely torn apart and inexpertly stitched back together. Again and again and again. Forming a bizarre, twisted patchwork that can only reply in cold, hushed tones, and had the stare of someone long dead and simply forgot to lay down.

You ask her, then, that if such a betrayal did exist, then why did she not say that, first? Did she want so badly to die, does she have some sort of death wish that she needs fulfilled? Why her first answer instead of this?

"..." Girl A is silent for a few moments, staring at Mami sullenly. As if trying to convince herself whether to speak or simply ignore the question.

You open your mouth to press her harder when she finally replies.

"Because Mami-san told me to trust them," Girl A murmurs. "She told me that they were coming, and that we just had to wait for them. Mami-san trusted them. I didn't. I went back to try and call them, but then..." It's then that the raven-haired girl shows the first flicker of emotion, squeezing her eyes tightly, a small frown curling her lips.

>>
>>20673408

"...It's not Mami-san's fault. It was mine." She opens her eyes again. "Someone needs to die, right? Someone needs to be punished." She pulls at the chains binding her arms, making them rattle. "Leave Mami-san out of it. I killed them all. I won't mind if I have to die."

...Well. Not so cold, after all. Just hidden underneath a couple of meters of ice and snow.

You turn to Mami and ask her about the supposed victims, those captured by the ones you were purging.

"...We never found them, Warmaster." The blonde shakes her head, her curls following her movement. "There were no other Magical Girls besides us, after the purge. We ransacked the entire building, from top to bottom."

Curious. Very curious, indeed.

"I confirm that," Malal says after a moment, consulting her tablet. "Besides Mami's squad and...well, the three Eversor Squads, there were no other Magical Girls in that building. No trace of a Magical Girl being held captive there, anyway. Doesn't prove much, as they could be holding them somewhere else, but there's that."

Since all evidence points to it being a setup to kidnap/rape/murder Mami, there's no reason to punish Girl A. But there's plenty of reason to punish the Third, and everyone in a straight line between us and it.

But first, talk to QB about it.

>>
She should get a light punishment for not leaving anyone alive to interrogate and/or torture.

Seriously, that's just bad form.

Other than that, get Kyubey on the line and inform him that you're suspending all other operations momentarily in favor of a different sort of purging mission - The entire Third Officio. That falls eithin our jurisdiction, right?

You mull things over for a few moments, giving this particular decision you're about to make the consideration it needs. A life is on the line, after all, and only your word could decide if that life continues to see another sunrise or ends right this very moment. Girl A is staring at you sullenly, her cold purple eyes staring into your black, crimson-pinned own.

"You have pretty eyes." She suddenly says to you, apropos of nothing. You blink at this, and Mami is surprised enough that she gasps, as well. You smile at this, before shaking your head.

"Thank you, but flattery, it will get you nowhere at this point, I think." You say slowly, before gesturing towards Malal. You whisper a few words to her, and it's then that she nods - tapping her tablet, before reaching down to pull a combat knife from its sheathe strapped to her boot. Mami's eyes grow wide at this.

"W-Warmaster, please, you can't--" She tries.

You hush her with a look, before you make your way behind Girl A. You slap the combat knife's tempered edge against your fleshmetal hand - and the sharp impact of metal clashing hard against metal, hard enough to cause sparks, causes nearly everyone inside the Silent Room to snap to attention. "I do not like to waste time," you start to say. "I have wasted enough time as it is listening to testimony, here. This is not how I do my judging. Judging for me is quick and easy, never this drawn out. But I did it, so that there will be no complaints for what I decide."

Malal is watching you closely, and she nods imperceptibly. You just feel that she' smiling at you from behind her visor.

[1/2]
>>
>>20673854

"My judgment, then. It is admirable, of course, the way the accused protected your honor, and at the same time brought to light this betrayal. This should be enough for an acquittal. I think, it should also be enough for a medal. One does not kill twenty-one Eversors without getting a prize."

It's then that the chains holding up Girl A suddenly fall slack, and she lands on the floor - on both feet, and to her credit, she does not collapse right away. She almost knelt, but she stood up immediately, even in her state of malnutrition and thirst. Her left leg is shivering, in danger of buckling, but she stands. She does not look at you as you peer over her shoulder, looking at Tomoe Mami as she looks back at the both of you.

"Still. There is the matter of our betrayal. We have killed a score of our allies, and that is not to be taken lightly. Not in this game. An example must be made of. Girl A is right - someone needs to die. The balance must be restored."

"G-god, Kharn, please," Mami's eyes are wide now. "I...please, not her--"

You take both of Girl A's braids - each one having quite an unbelievable amount of substance to them, like thick heavy ropes - and you lift both of them up to reveal the back of her neck. There's an imperceptible shiver running down Girl A's back as you press the point of the combat knife against the spot where her spine should be. A simple shove, and the blade would pierce her spinal column, ending her life painlessly and quickly.

"My judgment is absolute and final. And I judge thee to die, Girl A. Kharn Valnikov, Warmaster of the 9th Incubator, has spoken."

Mami Tomoe's scream is delicious as you let the knife do its work.

It's a pity that she will never scream for you. But thems are the breaks.

Her scream is cut short as you toss the now-severed braids at her feet, each one thudding solidly upon the metal grating of the silent room's floor.

"Girl A is dead. Executed, this year of our Lord. ...Uh, Malal, please be taking down the date, thank you." Your aide shakes her head after a moment, as you try not to smile too much at Mami's reaction. "She is dead, and we will not speak of her any longer. In the meantime, ah! I have found a new recruit. Welcome to the Officio, I am Kharn, your Warmaster." You clamp one clawed hand on the girl's shoulder, before pointing towards Mami. "She is pretty girl, yes? Nod if you agree. I think she is pretty also."

It seems that the former Girl A - with her new impromptu haircut - is stunned as well, and she can only nod. Mami, meanwhile, seems to be trying to catch her breath, her face as pale as a sheet. Her eyes straying to the bundle of long black hair by her shoes.

"Two weeks pay docked from you, Mami Tomoe, for not watching Girl A enough, but that docking is suspended until further notice. In the meantime, please be cleaning her up, and send her to the Incubator's office in thirty minutes." You say as you gently push the young woman towards Mami. "I will be taking over her orientation and training, and we will be starting today. Malal, can you make her a new entry in our payroll? You can do that, right?"

"Of course, Warmaster." Malal replies, as if the question hadn't even been worth asking. "I'll need a new name, though. For the database. Coincidentally, I have a list here of names that may fit her--"

[3/4]

"Murderface," you automatically say, the name coming out even before you could think it. "Her new name is Murderface."

Both Malal and Mami look at you, and even with the former's visor, you could guess that your aide is sharing the same look of disgusted surprise with Mami.

"Murderface...? But I have some better names here, like Akemi--"

"Enough. Murderface. Her name is Murderface." You wave off Mami's pout, and Malal's exasperated sigh. "The name is perfect. Right, Murderface?"

Murderface - formerly Girl A - nods again, dumbly. Still stunned. She looks down at the severed braids on the floor, before reaching up to feel her hair, at the rough cut you made. Mami steps forward and whispers in her ear, both hands on the girl's shoulders, as if trying to reassure her somehow.

"There, see? She likes it! Now, no more arguing. We have to talk to Kyuubey." You hand the knife back to Malal, and she shoves it back into its sheathe. "If I am remembering, there is still meeting with the 3rd Warmaster, yes? We need to make sure Kyuubey knows about this betrayal, so he will not feel bad when I mobilize the entire Officio to murder his third brother."

Mami blinks at this. "W-wait, Warmaster. A...a complete mobilization? But surely you don't--"

"I do!" You turn and grin back at her. "I am very sure!"

[4/5]
>>
>>20673888

You leave her and Murderface in the Silent Room, the doors closing behind you, and Malal struggles to keep up with your loping strides.

"Murderface, Kharn? Seriously?" Malal says after a moment. "That name is seriously di--"

"Do not say dildos, that is unbecoming of you." You interrupt her, the grin still on your face. "The name is not dildos. Murderface is a good name, a strong name. And she will earn it, I will teach her."

"Still--"

"You will see, eh, good friend?" You laugh as you throw an arm around her shoulders, your aide gasping at the contact. "I am right about these things. Just like I am right about everything, all the time."

"...One day, she'll probably kill you, you know." Malal says quietly, not exactly squirming from your grasp.

You simply nod at this, your smile widening.

That may come, one day. But not now. Not when you have an entire Officio to hunt.

If you're lucky, you will have enough skulls to make a throne.

See, that's why she's warmaster and you aren't.

>If you're lucky, you will have enough skulls to make a throne.

Flawless ending.

point taken.
>>

Interesting that Malal apparently has Akemi Homura as a name suggestion. We should look into that.
Before we asked QB if he knew that name and he denied any knowledge. I don't believe in coincidences.
>>
>>20673908
Considering they were blatantly trying to backstab us and possibly rape/torture one of our best Magical Girls, I would be surprised if we DIDN'T go to war.
>>
>>20673923
Well, now, that *was* only a first name
>>
>>20673914
QB has intimated that as much as the Incubators are in competition with each other, they do cooperate.
And that a rogue Incubator will get hunted down like the mutant cat that it is.

Wiping out an Incubator's entire office likely had repercussions.
>>
>>20673932
Still all too suspicious.

Can we be sure it's not Faust under that helmet?

And that's for this thread! Next thread we'll go ahead with Kharn's next appointment, the meeting with the 3rd Incubator's Warmaster!

Also, a person by the twitter handle of @JustKiri made a living archive of MGNQ! magicalgirlnoir.com is the URL, and it allows you to red only the quest posts.

Thank you for participating, and feedback is always great!

Well, you're pegging about a 17 out of 10 on the paranoiameter, but i suppose no, we really can't.
>>
>>20673923
Of course, it's the same thing about him claiming not knowing about the golden weapons beforehand. Devious little bastard is always hiding something.

Drawfriends, I know you're out there.

Requesting this image, but with a Culexus and the text "That name is dildos."

BLOOD AND THUNDER!

loved it, see you next time!
>>
>>20673938
Or freaky Culexus shenanigans. It's still not very clear what exactly they're capable of.
>>

It's been two minutes and I still dont see the results, drawfags. Stop making me wait

Speaking of which, anyone else read the QB quote pastebin Deculte tweeted?

> Magical girls in the last century reached their extremes because of their inherent utility: they pack a great deal of potential energy into an extremely efficient package. If we can but sidestep the Witching process, we can corner this market once again.

QB is trying to industrialize the Golden Weapon taint.

Time for a small rage against the heavens^Wmutant space cats
>>
>>20673941
Thanks for running it, Deculture!
>>
>>20673964
That was a joke. Those were all Alpha Centauri quotes someone madokafied.
>>
>X is dildos
>Murderface

I've always suspected Dethklok references, but could it really be true?

Anyway, great thread Deculture, I really loved the ending!

I have two .txts that i started but scrapped halfway through for being bad. My problem is that i have no willpower to just grind away at something until it's good if the idea behind it isn't where i want it.

Thank you for your interest though. I will keep trying.

Perfect!
>>
>>20673888
>There are better names! Like Akemi-

Murderface doesn't get to be Homuhomu until she steals Pinky's panties. Until then, she's the Yuki Nagato to Homura's Rei Ayanami.

And Kharn da bess.
>>
>>20674071
HAHAHAHA! PERFECT END! 9/10

Not fapworthy. Felt too much like a science paper.

So, basically a cheap knock-off until we steal Pinky's panties.

But what if we acquire them through different means?

I CALLED it.
Threads ago. Saw it coming miles away.
Kharn is Phyrexian. You can all suck it.
