Today is a fine day for Piracy.

The plan is simple: intercept the Jewel of Celeste before it approaches the mainland, steal it's hull full of gold and catgirls. Child's play for a ship as mighty as yours. Your crew of almost 200 monstergirls is well rehearsed in boarding and combat, and the cruise ship has little in the way of guards.

Everything can't go perfectly, however. The catgirl assigned to navigation got the numbers wrong, again, and you're behind schedule. You have been running at your ship to its limit to catch up in time, but you really need to hire a new navigator. Your last one retired a few weeks ago, citing 'family reasons' which is commonly understood to mean 'chasing a man', and you have not been able to replace her yet.

Your crew has thinned out a bit in the last few months, successful raids followed by one too many high risk missions have made many reconsider the pirate life and seek safer lives. The list of women under your command runs through your head: Aside from your bridge crew you have two wings of six harpies, useful mainly as scouts, 20 loyal lizardwoman warriors, their sergeant is an old friend, and the bat twins. And of course, there are the catgirls. You estimate you have about one hundred and fifty of the things living on board. Ever pervasive, they do the jobs nobody else is hired for or wants to do. What they lack in intelligence and skill they make up for in enthusiasm and weight of numbers.
>>
Thankfully, your minotaur quatermaster is able to keep them mostly in check.

Your command crew is better, but still not in great shape, with over half the positions currently manned by catgirls. Your helmsman is a lamia from far across the ocean, your gunner is an arachnae who currently pulling double shifts as the ship's engineer, her eight legs working away at both stations. Your first mate is currently overseeing navigation, which is probably the only reason you've managed to get back on course in time.

And the man at the top of this bubbling pile of oestrogen is you, Captain Redbeard the Cleanshaven, the sixth most feared pirate in all the skies.

Except that's not quite correct, for you are no man. Born as Charlette Memoli in a small pirate outpost, you were outclassed and overlooked by all those of monstrous bent. Taking the guise of a man has ensured that you were noticed, and has lead to your command of The Cursed Dream. If your secret were to be revealed to the crew, they would surely abandon you, or even mutiny!

Only two souls know the truth behind their Captain, one being the dragon standing to your right: First Mate Illandra Barbieri, a fierce fighter who cares only for the gold your ship plunders and the fame that working on your ship brings.

Your revere is interrupted by your helmsman, Safiya, "Captain, the Jewel has an escort! A gunboat, small, but it wasn't in the plan."

"What are your orders, Captain?"
>>
MECHANICS RESOLUTION:
Roll a dice, if you get 4 or above, it's a success.
Different monstergirls roll diffent dice, ranging from the dragon's mighty d20 to a catgirl's pitiful d4.
Most girls will have specialities, and roll better dice when they stick to what they know.
Rolling a 1 is bad. 'girls may get injured, killed, desert from your crew, or simply be distracted by a ball of yarn if they roll a 1.

Any named girl rolls 2 dice, and is generally a lot more resistant to injury or desertion.
Anyone not specifically mentioned is assumed to be a catgirl. They're more or less useless, so you probably don't want to rely on them.

-

Your ship has 6 arclock cannons on each side, and single tri-barrel lightning thrower on it's front turret, it's pretty fast for it's size.

"Blow it out of the sky!" You cry with ferocity.

Kie slams her fist down on the controls in front of her and the main guns fire. Sparks obscure your field of vision briefly and when they clear you can see smoke billowing out of the gunboat. The gunboat's speed drops dramaticall, but it swings it's weapons around to bear on your ship.

"Bring us into position to broadside both of them."

"It will take us a minute to close the distance, and I doubt that the Jewel is going to stay close to it's crippled escort," your helmsman replies.

Jewel, your escort has abandoned you, if you surrender to be boarded you'll be able to make it home in one piece. I heartily suggest you do so."

"AVAST YE FILTHY LANDLUBBERS! This be the dread pirate, REDBEARD THE CLEANSHAVEN, TERROR OF THE SKIES! HEAVE TO AND PREPARE TO BE BOARDED, LEST I SHOOT YOU OUT OF THE SKY AND SLAUGHTER YOU LIKE THE PIGS YOU ARE!"
Caps lock is cruise control for piratical.

"Attention Jewel: This is Captain Redbeard the Cleanshaven! Surrender now and we'll just take your cargo. If you fight your ship will be destroyed, you crew killed and your men used however we should wish. You know who we are and you know you don't stand a chance, stand down.”

Illandra chuckles at this, “Still committed to giving fair warning I see. You know they'll never simply hand over that much gold without a fight.”

The reply seems to confirm her remark. “You will die today Redbeard, the Jewel will never surrender to pirates."
>>
>>20600901
Illandra my dear, it's about the long term. If we give fair warning once our reputation has spread enough half of our takes will be without a single fight. Also my goal wasn't to get the Jewel to surrender, it was to get the gunship to not try anything.

Start by softening them up and then performing a boarding action. Once boarded we show no mercy, they refused our terms. Therefore we will murder, rape, and pillage the shit out of them so that none dare to fight against us in the future.

"Perhaps today is a good day to die. Ramming speed!" you say, flicking off the comms. "Continue steady course, ready broadsides and fire when in range. We'll give them a few of those before we board, get the marines ready."

Reilin, your scarred lizardwoman, nods in acknowledgement and heads up to the deck with her troops. They'll be ready to board when you get aside the Jewel.

“Illandra my dear, it's about the long term. If we give fair warning once our reputation has spread enough half of our takes will be without a single fight. Also my goal wasn't to get the Jewel to surrender, it was to get the gunship to not try anything.”

“I'd believe that if it had worked even once yet.” Almost on command the enemy gunboat returns fire, three shots sailing wide and one impacting on your forward hull. She sighs, “at least this way we might get some fighting. Are you planning on following the boarding party, and leaving me in command as usual?”

“So long as you bring back the gold, I'll be plenty happy here.”

“Then I'll follow the boarding party. “

Your ship pulls alongside the gunboat, and your cannons begin to fire. Two cannonballs hit the gunboat just below one of it's turrets, and another bounces off it's heavy armour. One of your cannons misfires, and out of the cloud of smoke one of your catgirls manages to get shot across the gap and onto the enemy ship, where she clings to a handrail. You're never quite sure how they manage to survive.

Kie takes aim at the Jewel, still further ahead, and lands a hit onto it's stern, blowing off some armor.

>>
Seeing one of their own clinging desperately to the gunboat as a sign that they are meant to be boarding, a swarm of your catgirls jump across, with only a few of them falling off, and most of those caught by their fellows. Soon all that can be seen of the enemy ship is the comm tower, the rest of it is covered by fuzz.

You doubt the gunship can fire if it cannot see where it is going, and order your ship to continue on to the Jewel.

The Jewel doesn't have any main guns, but some of it's crew have crowded up to the deck and are waving cutlasses and arclock weapons, and are taking shots at you as you approch.
>>
>>20601584

Let's do this. Start with a broadside to clear the decks.

Release the Harpies to swoop down on any stragglers on the surface decks while all the Lizardwoman marines, led by Reilin clear the lower levels, killing and maiming as they go. We'll stick with Reilin.
>>
>>20601599
Your catgirls are still reloading the cannons on the side of the ship facing the Jewel.

>>20601604

“I- I have your weapons, nyaa,” a catgirl squeaks at you as you head towards the deck. She is holding an arclock pistol and a ladle. “I couldn't find your cutlass, but this is good, isn't it? Maybe You later you could-”

“That's quite enough,” interrupts a voice that sounds like honey poured over cleavage on a crisp spring morning.

Ah yes, the other keeper of your secret, and your only official bedwarmer. You turn to see her holding your sword in her delicate hands, a stark contrast to her dark wings, which are tripping a catgirl so she can get past. She traces the cutlass down your shirt and stops when it rests on your crotch. “You know he's mine and I'm not going to share. Especially not with a catgirl.” The last word laced with disgust.

“Bring me back something pretty,” she murmurs in your ear as you make it to above deck, before disappearing back into the shadows.

You order the catgirls on the deck guns to shoot at the people on the enemy decks, in order to give your harpies time to take off. The harpies begin hit and run attacks, diving at what you can now identify as elves, knocking many down and tearing deep clawmarks in others.

“We'll be entering the ship from the lower decks,” you tell Reilin, and Kie swings her gun around to blast you an entrance.

The blast rends the hull apart, and you can see some sort of storage room on the other side, lots of crates stacked against the walls, and dried fruit and meats hanging from the ceiling.

“We'll take the engines and you go for the bridge?” Reilin asks as she jumps across. “Don't forget your ripcord.”

You check the thin rope tied around your wrist, but it's still there. Ripcords are once use magical items that will prevent you from falling to your death by slowing your descent to something survivable. Not that swimming to shore would be particularly pleasant.

A sous-chef enters the kitchen to see what the racket is about, and one of the lizardwomen drags him back into the supply closet before he even manages to finish admonishing the catgirl. The rest of Reilin's group heads towards the aft of the ship. You are confident that they'll be able to take it, since most of the crew was above deck. You'll be able to send with her if she has any issues anyway.

The first few corridoors are empty, save for a few passengers who lock themselves in their rooms as you pass. You'll worry about stealing their valuables after you've got the ship secured, if there's time. You make it to the main dining hall before you encounter any resistance. A group of elves have overturned some tables across the middle of the room, and are blocking your path. You could find another way, but that would take time, and there only seems to be 13 of them here.

Your arclock pistol blasts one elf down as your lizardwomen kick the tables aside, and you dive into the fight. A quick slash across an elf's torso puts her down, and your troops manage to knock out another four in the charge. Half of the remaining elves flee through the double doors in front of you, but 5 of them are cut off, and one embeds her sword to the hilt in the leg of one of your 'girls.

I'll get you your pretty thing, it's an appropriate gift for my pretty thing and I bet we could get a nice ransom out of Tal'Rea as well.

But in the future don't withhold information like this from me, you know how I hate to go off half-cocked."

That circlet is a powerful magical artifact, possibly leading to godhood or lichdom or some other thing.

I`m anticipating an imminent backstab.

We should wear the circlet.

"Hello snookums. You've been a bad girl, knowing about this, knowing there were additional defenses and not telling me. You'll have to be punished, later.”

“Punish me? You wouldn't dare! You need me and you know it. Besides, it's not like I ask you for very much. Just food, lodgings and the occasional present.”

“I'll get you your pretty thing, I'm sure she won't be needing it and I bet we could get a nice ransom out of Tal'Rea as well.”

“Ransom her? Oh by Alice please don't. She'd be trying to reform the crew within days, and you know the catgirls are so susceptible to kind words.”

“How did you come across that information? Why the FUCK did you not tell me there would be a marilith on board?! ”

“People just talk to me, it's a gift,” she licks her lips. “And every ship has to have a captain.”

>>
>>20603338
Don't worry Lasciel you'll enjoy the punishment I have in mind.

And as for Tal'Rea, you'd be amazed how effective gags are in preventing these "kind words".

Some warning would still have been nice.

Well, I'd love to stay and talk dearie but I have a ship to capture. Make sure to keep the bed warm for when I get back. You owe me multiple iterations of that thing you do with your tongue.
>>
"Maybe that could be your punishment. YOU can keep her from influencing the catgirls until we ransom her off," you say, flashing her a grin.

“Ugh, fine, do what you want,” Lasciel releases you and begins to fade. I'm going to go eat that pie that I saw on the way in.

A lizardwoman approaches you warily, bleeding from a few minor cuts. “I've sent the injured back to the ship, with the body.” We should keep moving.

The rest of the walk to the bridge is uneventful, with the crew surrendering as you find them. Soon you find yourself in control of the ship.

>So now the fun bit, where are you going to loot first?
>>
>>20603497
Loot the healer first. No more surprises.

>>
>>20603497
Can we loot the ship? Like, the whole ship? Just, steal the whole damn thing?
>>
>>20603531
Pretty damn good apparently.

Where`s the loot?
>>
>>20603497
Set the ship on a course that will make it take the longest possible time for us to get found by the cops.

First thing to get is Tal'Rea, as hostage and to sack her room for anything valuable, especially the circlet.

Then the quarters of the richest passengers and the captain, sack them for anything valuable, also find where the rich people gathered and take their wallets, jewels, gems, yadda yadda. Anyone who is particularly ransomable is to be taken as well.

Then if they have a secure holding area for things that rich people brought aboard but wanted more security for we hit that. Things like security boxes and safes.

Then we hit the cargo hold.

Though we could consider just taking the entire ship and selling it off.
>>
>>20603573
I agree with this plan.

The problem with taking the ship and selling it off is knowing of a disreputable harbor that we could unload an entire ship at.
Also, it's a cruise liner, and may not have the speed to outrun Navy cutters that might come after us.
>>
“Reilin has secured the engine room, and they've found the safe room, and the gold. They're was a gargoyle in there, but it didn't cause too much damage,” Illandra informs you, “And the gunboat's engine damage was rather severe, so I've got the harpy wings collecting the catgirls. We'll leave their crew to swim home, ha ha!”

“Also, Slate reports that they've looted most of the valuables from the first class passengers, but the guards there won't let them into the captain's quarters. They want to know if you don't mind there being some extra blood on the walls.” Looks like you know where Tal'Rea is.

You change the ships heading to south-east, away from the coast and the nearest military base.

You could take the ship with you, but you'd have to entrust some catgirls to fly it, and there's a fair number of passengers and crew still on board.
>>
>>20603742
Placing Emma aboard should be able to keep the catgirls in line, and we can give the surviving ships crew and passengers (baring hostages) ripcords/life boats that're on this ship once we pass over solid ground or the lifeboat now.
>>
>>20603742
Take the valuables, let the grew do whatever(After disabling/taking any guns they might have)

Take the healer with us, be a gentle(wo)man

Bug out before anything shows up.

Don't forget to pick up our girls from the gunboat, maybe take the gunboat with us
>>
>>20603742
I don't mind there being extra blood on the walls.

Have the werebat twins take a second entrance in and flank the guards holding the door to make it easier on us.

Get the captains quarters, all the loot and Tal'Rea.

After that is done I think we should take the ship with us, leave them with navigation instructions, a few lizardwomen and maybe Emma to keep them in line.

We'll lock the passengers we don't consider extremely valuable ransom in some corner of the ship. Have the crew take the ship to a location where we can sell it or dismantle it to sell it. We'll take a different route on the Cursed Dream in case any pursuers catch up to the Jewel. Leave some heads on pikes on the Jewel when we do this to make sure nobody gets any ideas about trying to stop us.
>>
>>20603742
"A little more blood won't make much difference. Come along, Ill, we've got a princess to abscond with."
>>
I suggest we take the ship, send Lasciel over to keep the catgirls from capsizing the damn thing (and give her a bonus for doing so, even if it is a punishment, because goddamn that's like a full time babysitting job).
We do interrogations with the passengers, find out if they're worth anything. If they are, we ransom them. If they aren't, we drop em' at the next port with their purses significantly lighter but otherwise unharmed.
>>
>>20603742
"A little extra blood is not a problem. If they decide to fight, it can't be helped. Do whatever it takes to get into the Captain's quarters."

Leave the ship, it'll just be dead weight at this point. Steal whatever guns they have though. We can either use them or sell them.
>>
>>20603863
Shes a healer, dude.
>>
>>20603909
Whatever.
>>
“A little extra blood is not a problem. If they decide to fight, it can't be helped. Do whatever it takes to get into the Captain's quarters. And send Emm over with some catgirls to fly the ship, we can sell it later.”
“Right.”

You make your way to the captain's quarters, but instead of finding the pools of blood and piles of innards that Jade and Slate usually leave, you find only two unconscious but otherwise unharmed soldiers. The Werebats themselves are cowering in a corner, screeching at each other in their own language.

Catiously you open the door and are almost immediately blinded by bright light.

“Stop,” cries a harmonious voice, “I'll do anything you want, just don't hurt any of the-”

“Oh my! Are you hurt?” The voice interrupts itself. A shape rushes past you to your lizardwoman guard. “Your leg is bleeding!”

As your eyes adjust to the brightness, you find yourself looking at an angel. Brilliant white wings sprout from her back, and a glowing halo floats above her head. She is wearing little but a white toga and a gemmed circlet, embedded with diamonds and sapphires.

Tal'Rea is murmuring a healing spell, closing the wounds of your soldier.
>>
>>20603978
Cleric Get! for a while at least.
Put the smooth talking on. Get her cooperation, hell lie to her, say we 'rescued' her from dastardly pirates, and that we will be acting as her new escort for the time being
>>
>>20603978
Rest the flat end of the saber on her shoulder.
"Hands Off. My Crew.
I do not know if that is a healing spell, or one to subvert their minds. Cease now, or you'll need a powerful one for your Neck."
Ask if the bats are ok
>>
>>20603978
Well now we know why Las hated her so much. Praise the werebats for doing a good job and then convince little miss Angel to do that trick for the rest of your crew. At gunpoint. Behead the two guards she saved is she refuses to cooperate.
>>
>>20604014
I think that'll only last till she meets the succubus.

Which would be long enough.

>>20604019
Now now, no need to be so hasty. An angel healer isn't likely to be so duplicitous. WE might be, but we're no angel.
>>
>>20603978
Awesome, a cooperative hostage.

"Tal'Rea, you're now under my custody. If you cooperate you and those you don't wish hurt will remain unharmed, otherwise I promise nothing.

Oh, and I'm taking your circlet."

>>20604014
That lie will hold up for exactly 5 seconds. It's not worth trying.

>>20604019
It said she murmured a healing spell, I'm pretty sure we know it's a healing spell. We should have our saber resting against the throat of one of the guards. She seems like the type to be much more pliable by threatening others than threatening her.

The bats should be okay, they just don't like bright light.
>>
>>20604019
>>20604030
for crap sake guys, you don't have to be a complete hardass in every situation. This girl screams 'sucker', we can get by with a touch of diplomacy here
>>
>>20603978
Put our arclock up to her head and say "Get your hands off my crew, bitch. I don't know WHAT that magic you're doing really does, and I don't have any reason to trust you. So stop now, or we can find out what color an Angel's brains are."
Praise Jade and Slate for a job well done.
Use the unconscious guards as hostages to force this Angel to come along quietly. Lasciel could use a new toy.
>>
>>20604055
Note for this. Only threaten her crew directly if she refuses to cooperate in any way. If we don't need to do it than don't.

We're going to hold her hostage and bring Lasciel two gifts, an angel and a circlet, but no reason to be heavy handed yet.
>>
>>20604065
We know it's a healing spell, it's been identified as such.
Also, she's an Angel healer, on her way to provide healing for the plaguelands; the amount of ransom that she's worth makes shooting her stupid in the extreme.
>>
>>20604055
Yeah, we the players know they 'should' be ok, but add in a dose of concern for them endears loyalty

The girl also screams 'paragon of goodness' The last thing we need is a lizardwoman or two holding on to the last bits of morality they have to help her escape. This woman may have just as much or more diplomacy then we do, and i'd rather not she smile and sing subverting our crew to her like some Disney Belle.

I say we play hardass, but we play it off as concern for our crew, seeing as she just reduced two hardened killers into gibbering piles of nerves. Which it is, partially, but we also want our crew to have its very own heal factory.

Then again, Succubus + Angel sounds like either lots of terrible bad times or lots of hilarious bad times.
>>
>>20604129
>she just reduced two hardened killers into gibbering piles of nerves
That's because she's a walking flashbang equivalent to a werebat, and our lizardwomen marines are just fine. It's got nothing to do with what she did.

>>20604118
Showing concern is one thing, but showing complete ignorance of magic doesn't do much.
>>
>>20604129
I think we'll hand her over to Lasciel, give her a toy to mold, subvert and break. When we're through with her she ought to be utterly loyal to us and act as our ship's personal healbot.

We aren't a nice person.

But that comes after getting everything on this ship squared away, and we act professional up until then.
>>
>>20604204
>We aren't a nice person.
Why not? Because we're a pirate? That doesn't mean anything.

Sure, but we just walked in on the situation and saw that she spooked the batgirls. May as well play up our concern for our crew to get us some brownie points with the angel as well as to point her on the defensive. Remember, she has a greater good she aims to accomplish, so she will not willingly stay with us for long. Extending her goodwill towards us allows us to put off coming up with a more permanent solution to the angel situation.
>>20604204
Or we keep her pure and happy as leverage over Las. She may know our secret, but I dont feel too great about putting all of our eggslol in the scheming, lying demon basket.

Oh we're perfectly nice, as long as you don't get in our way. But if you DO get in our way, we will utterly and completely destroy you. Worked for pic related.
>>
You've never seen an angel before. They are a rarity, even in this day and age. No other monstergirl is a powerful, nor any as kind, or so they say.

You clear your throat, not quite sure how to interrupt. “Are they going to be alright?” You ask, indicating the cowering twins in the corner. They seem to have shrunken even smaller, and are screaming and yelling at the light emanating from the angel.

Curiously you didn't even notice the bat were still screeching until you actually tried to hear it. It's like her voice drowns out everything else. Just as her presence seems to make the everything softer, nicer to look at. She really is beautiful, not a feather or hair out of place. You snap yourself back to reality to catch the end of her reply.

“-ead them out and they'll be fine.” Right. They're blinded. Of course. You usher one of your guards to lead them back to the ship.

"Tal'Rea, you're now under my custody. If you cooperate you and those you don't wish hurt will remain unharmed, otherwise I promise nothing. Oh, and I'm taking your circlet."

“I understand, I'll do as you ask. But my circlet? It was my mother's! Surely you can find it in your heart not to take it. I have nothing else to remember her by!”

You had a mother, once. She used to-

Man, this is going to be such a pain to deal with.

>You are as nice as you decide.
>>20604228
>I was trying for that sort of tone, yes.
>>
>>20604220
Not being a nice person is very much part of being a pirate. We left a decent sized corpse trail throughout the ship, we're stealing everything worth any money from this ship and are planning on stranding the passengers wherever we're going to sell it. Also we are pretty well acquainted with a succubus.

We might be good to our crew but we don't seem to have any qualms about murder and theft.

The giving her to Lasciel can be debated later.
>>
>>20604246
So you want to play up the not being able to accurately read a situation with only a second or two to understand it.

When you heard I was a good man that was perhaps an exaggeration, I am a polite man, I am an efficient man, and I am a practical man above being a good man.

As for the current dilemma, you can always drop her off at whatever port you sell the ship to and tell her that she can find her way to Newport from there. You cant very well just go marching up to the Navy for a friendly chat, after all. Or better yet, sell her to Newport.

Illandra's face appears in your vision again.

“Well I'm glad you went over, I do not want to have to deal with her. What's the plan?”

“We'll ransom her to Newport, standard rates for crewmen, don't ask any extra.”

“Are you sure? We could get a lot for an angel if we went to a country at war. Hmm... no, now I think about it you're right, angels are protected, so we can say we are just giving her the fastest route there. If we make the right calls we'll keep our reputation straight.”

You look down at the circlet in your hands and whisper an unlocking spell your mother taught you, so many years ago, when you both lived on the streets. It saved you from starving a few times, after she was gone. A gem slides itself out of it's setting and you catch it before it hits the ground.

A privateer is a pirate with permission.

You make your way back to your ship in a melancholy, pausing to let a stream of catgirls carrying a chest of gold past. Safiya is waiting for you on the bridge when you arrive.

“There's a postal vessel that will be by in half an hour, they'll pick up the crew that are left.” A postie is bad news, usually, heavily armed and armoured they are fierce and don't hesitate to shoot first. Nothing stops the mail these days.

You nod assent. “Onwards to Newport, leave the Jewel's lifeboats with her crew.”

You find yourself back at your cabin, circlet and gemstone still in hand. Lasciel is lounging on the bed. “Did you get it?”

You offer her the circlet, and she looks it over quickly.

“Missing a gem, how ugly.” With a twist of her fingers she snaps it in two. “Well at least there's some good silver in it, and the diamonds will be worth something.”

The things you put up with.

VICTORY!
You gain
>4 Chests of gold
>43 Catgirls
>1 Jewel of Celeste
>1 Angel captive
You lost
>1 Harpy sister
>1 Lizardwoman warrior

>End of thread!
>Man! I didn't really intend for it to turn out this way. But I'm glad it did.
>This was meant to be a light hearted one off adventure, inspired by the savage worlds game posted the other day.

>Feedback would be appreciated, too fast? too slow? too grim? not enough catgirls? Mechanics too obscure?

>Thank you all for playing!

The kind that steal family heirlooms to appease our pet succubus, ruin lives, and kill entire cities through sheer callous indifference.
>>20604920
Oh I know, I just thought this quest was going to be as romanticized. My soft spot for monstergirls isn't helping much either.
>>
>>20604948
They're also entitled to being treated as POWs and cannot be summarily executed by the Laws of War. Very important distinction.
>>
>>20604945
There were several threads that broke this down. What they were doing was basically being a facilitator of insurance fraud.

Fuck
I'm drowning in catgirls

I fucking hate that fucking succubi. Just saying.

>>20604959
My only question at the moment is: when you gonna do it next?

SuccubUS. Succubi is plural.
>>
>>20604959
Well, our bedwarmer is kind of an unholy bitch, but I think we knew that. We may need to recruit more useful monstergirls.

The system is a good at-a-glance die mechanic, especially in forum format.

Tone wise, it's hard to say if this is as light-hearted as it appears at a glance, or as dark overall as parts of it seem.

I think Lasciel would be better if she strung us along for more - like making us get her a jeweler next, or steal some decent crown jewels or something, rather than just snapping the trinket she asked for in a fit of pique.
>>
>>20604959
Aw hell naw. Las just lost privileges. I'm not sure which yet, but she lost something.
>>
>>20604959
So Lasciel only wanted the circlet simply to deprive Tal'Rea of something?
I suppose it is in her nature.

Also, yes, I also thought this was supposed to be a light-hearted adventurous romp. I would have preferred to keep it that way. If you run another adventure with Redbeard, I will fight to keep it that way.

Noted.

Technically you gained 56 and lost 13, but it all evens out in the end.

>>20604989
>>20605000
Not actually a sucuubus, but a curious type of demon. You've never managed to get her to admit what she really is though, so succubus is what you end up using.

She's been quite useful in the past, but she is a bit of a pain to deal with.

>>20605000
It was meant to be bright and bubbly with semi-dark undertones. Catgirls are a mix between minions and currency. They'd be counted as slaves if they weren't so damn WILLING to do everything just to be recognised. And they're so damn adorably terrible at everything.

>>20604997
Is there any demand to continue? Next episode would be more recruitment then combat, and would take place at the scum filled city of Newport, a frontier city facing a grim crisis.
>>
>>20605019
Its kinda hard with a character like Lasciel existing. I for one dont mind the direction the quest is taking, but if op wanted to keep it light, he kinda shot himself in the foot by introducing a vindictive sadist who we are forced to keep by our side at all times.
>>
>>20605009
Nice.
>>
>>20605033
>continue
Sure, the mechanics seem fun enough, and playing sky pirates is pretty fun.

>>20605041
Lasciel hasn't been shown to be vindictive or a sadist yet. Just petty. And as for her antipathy towards Tal'Rea that's kind of expected, them being a demon and an angel, respectively.
>>
>>20605033
>Is there any demand to continue?
I'd be up for it, and willing to try and help keep things light.
>>
>>20605009
Goodness, she's a big'un.

>>20605033
>Is there any demand to continue?
Well, I think so. Nothing wrong with variety in thread activities.
>>
>>20605062
JUST petty is pushing it, seeing as she coerced you into assaulting a ship and murdering dozens simply to steal a cherished trinket that she didn't even want in the first place, also fucking over an entire port town to do so. That is petty to the fucking max

I'll be following it. When are you planning on running it?

>>20605083
We also got a fair bit of gold from the endeavor and we'll make bank from the ransom.
>>
>>20605072
>>20605069
>>20605062
Alright, well I'll set a tenative date for next week, same time, same day, on Wednesday.

>>20605083
To be fair, she didn't want to kidnap anybody. Regardless, she has her reasons, and you DID get a stack of gold. And it isn't that often that she pulls stunts like this, usually she's content to just lounge around your ship.
>>
>>20605083
Not really.
We needed a target and funds, and this does fit all the criteria of being a high-paying raid, with the impact to Newport being limited to economic, since we're still bringing them the Angel. It simply would not have made good business sense for us to ransom her to anyone else, so Lasciel was pretty confident in our smarts to make the right choice.
>>
>>20605105
Even if it isn't often, it's still pretty dang bad when it does happen, so, can't say I'm liking her that much.

But eh, I prefer playing heroes and always have, so I'm biased. And I did have fun.

>>20605221
Hopefully we will see a nicer side to her next session. I'm not the biggest fan of perfect heroes who can do no wrong ever, but I don't much enjoy unmitigated assholes either.
>>
>>20605221
I'm not mad at her having us go after the ship, I'm just slightly miffed that we weren't informed of the threat level.

I'm perfectly fine with murder, theft, and coercion in the name of profit. We put ourself and our crew ahead of other people. But not informing us was just plain rude, it put our crew in danger.

So to make up for that she owes us several sessions of the amazing things she can presumably do with her tongue.
>>
>>20605221
Well mabe this angel will offer a chance for redemption, who knows?
>>
>>20605250
>I'm not mad at her having us go after the ship, I'm just slightly miffed that we weren't informed of the threat level.
Thats what I was saying. We went in expecting child's play, not a fucking heavily guarded VIP
>So to make up for that she owes us several sessions of the amazing things she can presumably do with her tongue.
Don't forget the tail.
>>
>>20605254

Eh, I don't want to go that route either. I just want to find that sweet sweet middle ground.

Hello, comfort zone.
>>
Oh, I'm all for flawed and deep characters too. Just I like people who overall lean towards being noble. Or as you said, at least aren't jerkasses.
>>
>>20605272
This is one thing I'm going to be firm about, Redbeard is very much into men.
>>
>>20605305
>Redbeard is very much into men.
But we have a very female demon for a bedwarmer.
>>
>>20605316
Officially, yes.

Also technically correct. She does indeed warm your bed.
>>
>>20605305
>Redbeard is very much into men.
B-But we have a female demon bedwarmer. You do know how one warms a bed, right? Or is this one of those “literally the ONLY girl I would lesbian for” kind of affairs?
>>
>>20605305
We already use Lasciel as our bedwarmer. I somehow doubt that she just keeps it warm and then then we don't sleep with the fucking succubus. Lasciel and Redbeard seem to be pretty sexually involved.

We might like men, maybe even prefer men sometimes, but we're not completely straight.

Though our options for people to sleep with currently consists of two people as I doubt we want to broadcast our secret to the rest of the crew.
>>
>>20605323
>She does indeed warm your bed.
I don't think you grasp what that term actually means.
>>
>>20605345
Oh I know exactly what I mean.

>>20605338
>>20605326
Sure, you've experimented a few times, and you do put on quite the show for the crew, but she lacks something fundamentally satisfying. And besides, do you really find such a shallow creature appealing?
>>
>>20605380
>she lacks something fundamentally satisfying
Well yeah, there's no EMOTIONAL connection, obviously, but hey, casual sex can be fun, as long as both parties understand and accept that's what it is.
>>
>>20605380
>do you really find such a shallow creature appealing?
I know we are pretending to be a dude and all, but we really need to get our issues with women sorted out.
>>
>>20605380
... Yes. Yes I do.

She's not a good person and I kinda like that. She's honest about it. I'm all for sleeping with her. Also I'm sure she's creative enough to make up for us being primarily heterosexual.
