Cool.
So anyone think of personalities for that hidden d20?
>>
Darkness

Your ears ring and you can feel yourself moving. Somethings off, you're not walking.

You open your eyes, Tech armor is down, your entire body aches.

You're over someones shoulder, matte black armor.

"Luke?" you mutter

You look up and see Oolot blocking volleys of fire, he has the ML-77 drawn, you see it launch and impact the end of the hallway.

You see the edge of the docking tube pass beneath you. You're gliding back over to your ship.

You go out again.

>You are Rox Oolot

Sam (or Bob as he's going by now) is down, the captain of their ship must have set a pretty cunning trap with some explosive canisters.

Luke is getting Sam out of here but what's left of the crew seems to be trying to push you back off the ship. You fall back firing a missle. Their fire stops.

Your suit is breached but the seal system seems to be working ok. you can feel your left thigh go numb from the cold of space.

You are a Krogan, you won't die so easily, these pirates will pay for their deception.

You decide retreat is the best option when facing an unknown number of attackers, Once you're back in the ship you'll blow it out of the void.

You get to the tube and Luke sees you inbound, he takes a covering position as you reach the airlock.

"Switch! We need the airlocked closed now! Have Rin spin up the guns, reduce that ship to scrap!"

"Roger, where's Bob?" he asks

"He's out, we were ambushed, Luke and I are holding the airlock but we need to get out of here NOW!" you roar over the com.

The door seals and you feel the ship pulling away, as the room repressurizes, you can hear the guns spinning up.

"Target aquired" you hear Rin mutter over the com.

After 30 seconds of fire you hear Rin confirm the kill. Their ship is being pulled into the gravity well, so much for salvage...

You and Luke do your best to get him to the medbay where Switch is already waiting.

He starts work immediately, he confirms there are no punctures amazingly but you took a hell of a concussion, a cracked rib and a nice goose egg from where you hit the wall.
>>
>>20387238
So was Bob spaced?
>>
>>20387254

>Bob/Sam is fine minus a few force related injuries, you didn't get exposed to vacuum. Oolot did slightly but Krogan have lived through far worse, minimal blood loss, it flash froze. Switch is confident he can fix him up.

You awake to bright medical lights in your face.

"Welcome back Captain Bob" a salarian stands over you and is running his Omni-tool over you, "I wouldn't move too much, you're pretty banged up. We're headed back to Benning to see Mr. Harper and report our success. We figured that was the course of action you would prefer. We're a couple jumps out, unless you have other orders I would recommend resting." he finishes hooking you up to an IV.

[ ] Pass out
[ ] Orders?
[ ] Bob?
>>
>>20387334
Who is this bob person?
>>
>>20387346

"Just one question doc, who's Bob?" you ask

He is silent for a moment..."Oh..." he mutters

"Tell whoever is left to ready up, we're going after them..." you mutter

"After who?" he asks

"After them, don't let any one of them escape..."

The world dissolves

"Lieutenant, we can't! We don't have the men left!" Sergeant Corey reports to you holding his left shoulder, bleeding from underneath the pauldron.

"That's an order sergeant, not one is to escape. I don't care what it costs us, if even one escapes he'll kill 10 more. The mathematics of the situation is clear." you say

"I won't order my men to their deaths!" He growls

You turn grabbing his throat and putting a gun to his head.

"You will or I will, they will march forward and we will end this once and for all, do you understand sergeant, I will not tolerate insubordination."

He shakes and clicks his com on, "All units forward, run them down."

You smile and activate your tech armor, you advance on the corridor where the men are currently fighting, they keep trying to advance but are only keep being rebuffed by the pirate defenders. A man with a missile launcher spins out and is riddle with slugs before he can fire, his armor coming apart at the seams as bullets cut him to ribbons.

You hook your foot under the launcher and kick it up into your hand. Bullets plink off your tech armor and you see how terrified the enemy is, you fire the rocket and see them blown to pieces as the overpressure hits you.

You see the light again.

"HE'S SEIZING! OOLOT I NEED YOU IN HERE NOW! HOLD HIM DOWN" Switch yells down the corridor

You feel huge hands holding you in place and ice water in your veins before you lose consciousness.
>>
>>20387567
SO...torfan really fucked us up huh?
>>
>>20387567

>You are Switch

You managed to give a sedative to Bob before it got too bad. Delusion brought on by his concussions?

You get the feeling Oolot knows more than he's telling.

You'd done business with Bob discreetly ever since he'd arrived on Omega. The information he wanted put you at risk as well but his money was good and he always treated you fairly. When shit hit the fan and he offered safety in exchange for help you really didn't have much choice but to help him, but he's done ok providing so far, you get the feeling he may be a bit mad, but that much was obvious when he wanted to go after Aria.

You're cleared to dock on Benning. You sent a message to Mr. Harper the mission is complete however you weren't able to recover any of his cargo. He shouldn't have any more trouble with pirate though.

You send him video of the battle and the credits are transferred into your account. Every little bit helps, and your ship wasn't damaged in the least by the encounter.

You think a little rest is in order until the captain is back on his feet, maybe you'll go have some lunch with Sushoo.

Ow, my fucking head.

What the hell happened? Last thing I remember we boarded the ship and then...blank, well you're not restrained, you have an IV and you're not dead. You stand and move over to the door, you're sore but moving.
The door slides open, you realize you were in your ships medbay. Ok, well that's good start.

You...don't remember it actually. What the fuck? You concentrate, you remember going to Omega, you remember investigating how Aria was tied to the slave trade and then. Nothing, complete blank.

This isn't good, you're losing bits of your memory.
More and more chunks seem to be missing, a lot of the Alliance stuff was a blur before but you'd always thought it was the drugs they gave you during your stay with the mental ward.

Shit, you'll worry about it later.

>>20387825
On rolls of 6, 7, and 8 you will become Bill, super stand-up guy, I'd advise against lawful, you kind of have a ship full of stolen, military grade hardware. That may not end in a lawful stupid character's favor.

You head to the kitchen, it looks like most of the crew is here.

Oolot stands and comes over to help you to a chair.

You have a seat at the bar with Switch, Sushoo, Rin, and Oolot.

Sushoo sits a plate of rice, chicken and noodles in front of you. Cooked to absolute perfection as always.

"How are you doing?" Switch asks shining a pen light in your eyes trying to check your pupils

"I'm ok, little sore but otherwise alright. Someone wanna catch me up? I don't remember much after boarding the ship." you tell them

Oolot recounts what happened on board and you nod until he finishes him.

"Damn shame we couldn't capture the ship, after than explosion though there probably wasn't too much left and at least we got off without too much damage. So we made 2,500. I imagine ammo set us back a little and of course supplies, so around 2k?" you ask

"Something like that..." Switch replies taking in another mouthful.

"We divided it up a little already. I gave Sushoo his pay, Rin and Luke their cut and between you, Switch and I have 1000 left." Oolot tells you.

You do so, you pass Rin on your way out and even she turns a mutters"Classy"

The place is incredibly upscale, you suppose a lot of Alliance brass come through here, you doubt any of them would recognize you now though so nothing to worry about there.

As you walk in the host immediately takes notice of you, "Ah, Mr. Drake I presume, Ms. Ross has been expecting you. Please follow me." He guides you through the dazzling restaurant and finally you reach your table, this section is nearly deserted she must enjoy her privacy, your table is in a small outcropping with drapes to either side. A very private booth the other side of the curtain is drawn she pats the seat next to her.
Somethings off, but you can't put your finger on it.
You don't feel threatened, just, on edge.

>Your perception is right on key, Michael's however is lacking. She knew Bob Drake, that's what it was, Dana only knew you as Ryan. What the hell is going on here.

The waiter closes the curtain behind you

"Ah Michael, so good to see you again." Leaning against the opposite wall of the booth is a man with slate grey eyes in a very expensive suit, you've met before.

Your memory flashes

"Volkov, it's been a long time, good to see you well." you nod to him, you look over to Dana "Something tells me your name isn't Dana either. That means whoever you work for has been watching me for a long time. Well you obviously have my attention, though I'd like to ask if we can order first, I mean I dressed up for this, I might as well have a good meal right?" you say unwrapping your silverware

"But of course Michael, I'm just here with a business proposition anyway, please relax, I took the liberty of ordering already but if you find it's not to your liking feel free to order whatever you wish, it's on us." he says lacing his fingers together

A waiter pulls back the curtain and delivers a meal for each of you. Yours is astounding Filet Mignon combination.

Volkov and 'Dana' both smile to each other.

"Always loved your etiquette Michael, the courtesy is wasted on so many these days." he says cutting into his own porterhouse. Dana picks at her salmon, doesn't look nearly as good as Sushoo's you'll have to remember to tell him.

"So what brings you here Volkov? Has the devil come to claim my soul so soon?" you ask taking a piece of bread from the basket.

"Ha, Michael we both know there is no rest for the wicked. No I'm here because I would like your assistance with something if you're not too busy." he says producing a tablet

You can send your team on that and just come with us, you should be back here in time for them to arrive back here in a week's time. Just leave your Krogan and Salarian in charge, they'll do fine I'm sure." he says sliding over the datapad.

It's a dossier, on an Alliance Corsair, hmmmm. Impressive track record, N program graduate, Vanguard training program, did he just kick a Geth Armature onto it's back? What the fuck...

All in all a sterling military career, current mission details classified, has dossier on some of his crew members but other than that not too much of value.

"Ok, well this is a great story, could be a motivational vid for the corps. Fail to see what it has to do with me, I'm not re-enlisting, I think the Alliance would frown on my history."

He laughs and says "Ah, mine as well. But I know this man's mission parameters, it's to be a thorn in our side. I work for a group dedicated to the preservation and advancement of humanity. We're allies in this fight but fought on different fronts for different reasons. I offer you a chance, to join us if you will do this one thing. Kill James Rennick and Cerberus will welcome you with open arms. You'll have our resources, our knowledge and preparation, and most importantly, my friendship." Volkov raises his towards you, "So, what do you say?"

I'd suggest act incompetent. Try to convince them sending us after this death machine would do more harm than good.

>samefag here

I'm doing my best to not be meta about it. (if I weren't, I'd have told the man to fuck himself with a cactus)

but in favour of accepting the job goes:
1) Money. That's a lot of bottlecaps.
2) We owe him.
3) He might be a dangerous enemy if we refused

Aand... that's about it.

Against

1) He's asking us to assasinate an alliance elite commando, for God's sake.
2) He's managed to piss said commando so badly somehow that he tried to kill him back.
3) Money. That's a lot of bottlecaps and not something anyone would part with willingly (I'm also samefag with >>20392146 )

I'd say the tradeoff is not worth it. We should continue as freelancer, not align ourselves with shady group we know nothing about, except that it's fighting Alliance commandos.

>>
Naah, I say we turn him down. It's just not worth the money that they don't expect to pay anyway.
>>
>>20392738

this idea has occured to me as well, but 1) we would need to get to MacCheese close enough to tell him 2) cerberus would DEFINITELY go out of its way to kill us with extreme prejudice. If we just walk away now, they MAY refrain from such extreme course of action and perhaps consider hiring us for less extreme engagements.

"I'd prefer to pick my own men, and women. I imagine you'll be spending at least a million, or 1.5 million of that 2.5 million on my new vessel. I'll have at least one million to spend on any tweaks I find necessary and in getting the crew I want. Although, do feel free to send one of your agents to monitor me, if you feel the need. I think this is as good a place as any to cut off. Planning for next Friday sometime around noon as of right now. Otherwise next Sunday, same time. As always it's been a pleasure gentlemen, don';t forget to vote in the archive.

Finally! My internet is back!

"N level operatives are not untouchable gods. This man is a powerful biotic, he's experienced, and he's exceptional by Aliance standards. You know what I bet he isn't? Inventive. Capable of thinking on his feet, and I'm almost certain he's not immune to the vacuum of space. Believe me, we have a great equalizing factor here. We have a ship that in, ooh, about twelve hours will be able to annihilate an Alliance frigate with only moderate difficulty in a 1-on-1, head on battle.

We don't intend to take them on head on. We earn his trust, and then turn on him. Everything is set up for us. All we have to do is play this right and eight million credits are ours for the taking."

Oolot slams his fists together, "Damn right, he's just a man, he'll fall like any other."

"I'll go help the with the upgrades" Rin says ducking out of the room.

Luke just says "Aye cap'n, I'll move to get all of our gear stowed."

Sushoo is drinking, you don't even know what and Switch has elected to join him.

"Everyone should get some rest, you're going to need it." you tell them
