Two years ago, you were a Magical Girl. You've made a habit of establishing unbelievable records at the Officio Assassinorum - and breaking them, time and time again, without fail, without difficulty.

You don't bandy about that you're the best, even though everyone else insists on the fact. You know how to kill four men in three hits, and eight men in five. Once, you struck an enemy Magical Girl so hard with a double-handed rifle bash that the force of the impact tore most of her face off - just before it broke her skull open like a watermelon.

You also have the biggest bust size in the Officio.

You're secretly ashamed of that.
>>
A witch run. The simplest and most common assignment a Magical Girl in the service of the Officio Assassinorum could ever be given. You're actually relieved that this dropped on your lap - you've had quite enough with the sort of tasks that you've been given. The last one, where you had to pretend to be a rather rotund politician's arm candy - that didn't turn out so well, or at least you thought so. No, it turned out to be a relatively peaceful night, but he kept pawing at you that you had to gently nudge him into one of the balconies and correct his behavior there when you were positive no one was looking.

You didn't do anything too drastic, of course. Sayaka would have probably broken a thumb. Kyoko would have dislocated his arm and then relocated it again, with a grin on her face.

You just set him straight by telling him that you're not interested, and that if he tried to grope you again, you would make sure that his wife would hear of his erroneous behavior. The wife who paid for his protection in the first place - and who could just as easily tell you to walk, and leave him alone for the invisible ninja assassins you were VERY sure that was hiding underneath the buffet table.

Twisting his arm behind him also helped driving the point home.

In any case, you had dressed yourself tastefully, if simply. A fluffy cream-colored turtleneck sweater, a simple black pencil skirt, stockings and black shoes. The mornings have become a bit chilly nowadays, so you made sure that you were amply...clothed, up top.

These things can be a problem, sometimes. Especially when you forget your brassiere.

You pretend not to notice, but the bounce whenever you walk is just much too vulgar.

Sayaka, still in her school uniform, meets you outside your apartment. You smile at her and apologize for taking much too long to get prepared. She hastily waves your apology away and tells you that she was alright with waiting. You give her another smile and lock up the apartment behind you, making sure that the locks are in place. A moment more of double-checking - you just want to be sure, after all - and you declare yourself ready to go.

"A-Ah. Alright, Mami-san. Let's blow that stupid Witch up and get back in time for tea!" Sayaka exclaims, smiling eagerly. You can tell she's excited - not like it's difficult to. You have always had this knack about reading people - kids especially, that's why you took up the part time job at a daycare. Reading adults are a bit more difficult, but kids you have no trouble with - and you're not too sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that reading Sayaka is less of a challenge than trying to find out why a toddler's crying.

You tell her that while you're happy she's energetic, she should dial it down a bit. Witches, after all, aren't as predictable as - say, a gang of yakuza. They tend to do things that you fail to anticipate, even after you've fought their kind a thousand times. Each Witch is different, not a single one the same.

"Y-yeah. Of course, Mami-san." Sayaka couldn't nod quickly enough. "Just that...even if the look and flavor's different, they all end up the same, don't they?" She grips an invisible sword in front of her, and executing a series of graceful cuts, slashes an imaginary opponent to ribbons. "I mean, with Mami-san with me, there's no way we can possibly lose over some dumb Witch!"

>>
>>20100494

You give a little sigh, smiling all the while. You hope it's not the case, but you feel that she desperately wants your approval. Which you've told her time and again that she has already earned - and you have insisted that she call you without a honorific. Two things that the blue-haired girl has stubbornly refused to understand.

Kids will be kids, you think as you get to the apartment elevator. Both of you standing side by side as you tap the button for the Ground Floor, the plastic square lighting up. The doors slide close in front of you.

"S-so, um...Mami-san, I heard you were dating someone...?"

You blink at this, your breath catching slightly in your throat. How did she find out? How did the Officio find out? You've been...careful! Very careful!

How did you respond?

That's right. You give her a small, embarrassed-looking smile, while discreetly trying to gauge just how much she knows through her body language. It's an easy enough skill to learn, but something you try not to abuse. Sure, it's quite efficient in trying to figure out if the person you're talking to is lying - or hiding injuries in an attempt to act tough in front of you - but sometimes, you've gotten too good at it that you feel like you're invading your colleagues' privacy. And that is quite the dreadful thing, really, so you swore to yourself not to do it unless it was quite the emergency.

This is one of those times, and as you easily frame the denial - and searching question - in a flippant way, softened by a smile, you notice with a rather cold start that she is doing the same thing to you, albeit in a less-than-subtle manner. Watching your reaction. Which means that she may know more than she's letting on, and is just trying to confirm it.

Well, that, or this is nothing but a fishing expedition.

It's then that she notices you looking at her - and immediately she colors, before looking away. "E-erm. Well. Just...just that I heard from some of the other girls. N-not that I believe them right away, of course, Mami-san!" She makes this clear, looking back at you, eyes wide. "Just...uh...if you are, t-then I'm really happy for you! I just...I just wish you told me, too, so that we could have...um. A party. Something to celebrate." Sayaka wrings her hands together. "T-that's what they do when your best friend has a boyfriend, right?" She smiles, uncertainly.

I'd rather we shot that shit down right now and said he wasn't worth the time.

>>
>>20100796
I think it'd be worth a time paradox to get rid of that particular headache for Chiaki. Hell, it's Madoka, time paradoxi are pretty commonplace really.

Wait, no, if Sayaka dies, the waifu brigade will ship us with Kyouko. We'd better leave her be.
>>
>>20100814
Nah she will just end up with Midori if Sayaka dies.
Then we tell her about the little trick with soul gems.
>>
>>20100748

You return her smile, and then reach out to brush a few strands of hair from her eyes. You tell her that...well, you're not quite sure what to call what you have with that 'someone' just yet, if there is in fact someone. Sayaka blinks at this, and opens her mouth to say something - before you let your smile go wider as you take her hand and give it a squeeze. Silencing her by reassuring her that she will be the first to know if you've had everything figured out.

Sayaka blushes again, and nods. "I'll keep it a secret, Mami-san. You can trust me."

Of course. Sayaka may be quite ill-tempered and quick to violence and one of the more extremely emotional people you know - but she is also one of the few Magical Girls you'd want watching your back. A secret shared with Sayaka was as good as kept forever; she would bring it to the grave with her, kicking and screaming. Anyone who would try to get it out of her would have to kill her first.

The elevator stops and the doors slide open, revealing the ground floor and the remainder of the early morning. The fresh air is bracingly chill - biting even through your thick sweater and making your breath mist slightly in front of you. Sayaka, however, seems to be completely comfortable, even in just her school uniform - in fact, the only warming garment she's wearing is a red scarf, the knitting somewhat frayed but obviously made with a lot of love.

You smile while mentally cursing Eversor physiology. Darn close-combat killing machines.

The trip to the actual building that Kyuubey had told you about concludes shortly enough - in fact, you were only stopped twice by two senior citizens, both of which are your apartment neighbors. Commenting about how you look like you're glowing lately, and blatantly asking if you're pregnant. You sense Sayaka stiffening up beside you the both times it came up, and both times you waited for a moment before cheerfully denying it.

It's after that, plus a few moments of making sure that the coast is clear, that the both of you finally find the gap in reality that would lead inside the Witch's Barrier. Your Soul Gem, in ring form, is growing warm around your finger - and as you hold it nearer to the gap itself, which is basically the post where the bicycle stand is propped up - the jewel inset sparks, confirming your suspicions.

"Well, there it is, Mami-san." Sayaka breathes, rolling her shoulders and cracking her knuckles. "What's the game plan? Do we go in together, or one of us stays here in case of backup?"

You look at Sayaka, and then back at the gap.
What did you decide to do, here?

>>

[X] Go alone
>>
>>20100916

Together. The whispering, plus the way Kyubey was acting was odd. Taking Sayaka with us wasn't a spur of the moment thing, he planned that before he used her a courier. If something is up we want her to act as a vanguard, since she's the eversor. Definitely not so that she has her back to our guns if anything fishy happens.

Plus it gives her a chance to prove herself, with Mami there to make sure she doesn't get in over her head.
>>
>>20101009
Its not that she ISNT nice, it's that she COULD POTENTIALLY not be nice. Maybe. The entire idea of paranoia, though, is jumping to conclusions that are possible but generally unreasonable. So yeah. Duhhh.

Thinking about it, I reckon we could make an argument for Chiaki being one of the more balanced magical girls. She is/was (in the future) an utter bitch, and she has very little in the way of emotions, and she can't into people.. what was I saying? Oh yeah, but at least she's already gone off. All the others are just as crazy and dangerous, but they're still waiting to break down. We're as bad as we can get (ruling out golden weapons), so it's all uphill from here.

You decided that both of you should be going into the Barrier. Leaving someone outside just in case backup is needed would've been the more prudent choice, but having two Magical Girls inside at the same time would mean that the gestating Witch would be found much more quickly, and that would also cut down the turnaround time of this little assignment by quite the drastic amount. Besides, Kyuubey did say Sayaka needed to vent some steam, and this would give you the chance to bolster her self-confidence some - and any opportunity to do so would be worth it.

You tell the blue-haired Eversor your decision, and she nods, smiling, obviously pleased. "Yeah, that's...I was just about to suggest that, Mami-san. It'd be faster for us to finish this up if the both of us are looking, right?" A spark of blue light, and her Soul Gem manifests in front of her, in all its cerulean glory - and she snatches it out of the air with a snap. "We'll be done in no time flat!"

You return her smile, just as your own Soul Gem blossoms into existence on top of your palm as well. It's then that you ask her - just as you take her hand - what should be standard operating procedure for Witch Barrier Entry. One of Mami-san's infamous pop quizzes, you've heard the newbies murmur in the locker room.

"You hold hands with your Barrier Buddy, of course." Sayaka blinks, as if offended that you'd even ask her something so simple. "That way, we end up together at the same spot, if the portal tries to drop us somewhere random...a-and transformation only upon entering, right?"

"I...I guess you can say that." Sayaka murmurs, bashful, unconsciously giving your hand a squeeze. "A-anyway, let's...let's just go already, okay, Mami-san?"

You nod in the affirmative, and lead Sayaka into the Barrier. Anyone looking at you would have seen a rather fetching girl with blonde curls lead her blue-haired companion right into a post - and disappear.

Immediately, the sound of the world is snuffed out. No slow decrease of volume or a gradual muffling into silence - as soon as you step through, all noise is silenced.

You have stepped out of one reality and into another.

For a moment, everything around you is smothered in inky darkness. A moment more, and it's then that a suffused light suddenly illuminates everything else - displaying what looks very much like some sort of twisted landscape made completely out of the things you'd expect in a downtown sweets shop. Towers of peppermint, jutting out from the ground, topped by chocolate discs. The sky a dark crimson, with clouds of heavy syrup dripping into the horizon. The ground - stable, but soft and moist, letting you sink a few inches into it. You realize with a faint sense of horror that you're standing in cake. The ground is cake.

The worst is the smell. A cloying smell of sweetness. Every breath sugary, thick and heavy in your lungs. Making your eyes sting and your stomach turn.

Behind you, Sayaka loudly deposits the breakfast you made her into the ground.

In hindsight, you probably shouldn't have put so much syrup on her pancakes.

Mami probably wanted to save the girl from the Witch's Kiss. Murderface didn't give a fuck and just shot her.
>>
>>20101579
It's precisely because of that
>>
>>20101461

You give Sayaka enough time to get herself back together and tell you she's ready - before it's then that you let go of her hand, clammy as it was. You turn to look at her just as she starts to heave again - and it's then that you offer her your personal handkerchief, monogrammed especially for you. The blue-haired Eversor blinks at this, before gratefully taking it - she'd almost wiped her mouth on her sleeve.

"T-thank you, Mami-san." Sayaka murmurs as she delicately wipes her mouth on expensive monogrammed silk. "O-oh, wait...t-this is yours, a-and I was just...sick, and--"

You shake your head at her. You don't mind. She can just throw it away after she's done with it. Much better to ruin a handkerchief than her uniform.

"N-no, I...I'm going to wash this, Mami-san. I will." Sayaka says firmly, folding it carefully and then placing it into her skirt pocket. "A-anyway. This...this is sort of freaky." She gives the barrier a look around. "Not the sort I'm used to, at all. Usually it's an urban background with some very nasty surprises, but cake...? And...and are those gingerbread men, walking around? ARE THOSE SERIOUSLY GINGERBREAD MEN--"

You hush Sayaka. You tell her that despite how strange your surroundings are, it still has the laws of normal physics to work with. Or at least a rough approximation of it, and that she shouldn't let the weirdness get to her. You still have to find the Witch, after all.

[3/4]

>>20101565

It was a witch. Newly turned witch, but a witch none the less. What was unusal was that Chiaki saw the human form of the witch INSIDE the time stop, something that never happens in Madoka Magica.

We've only met two witches in the quest so far, but the only other witch that appears human inside the timestop... is Pinky.
>>

It was a girl who was being controlled by a witch if not one turning into a witch.

>Your eyes narrow behind your glasses as you glare at the Witch's Mark. It meant that this was no mere accident or turning - someone had planned this. A setup that pretty much resulted in Mami bleeding out and you without the breakfast you've been promised.

>Stepping forward, you press the mouth of your gun directly upon the mark, right at the center of the twintailed girl's forehead. You could almost hear her whimper at this, tears welling up in her eyes and falling out, only to be frozen in the air moments later, glistening. Long ago, you probably would have hesitated. You'd have cared to ask who sent her, or tried to find some way to help.

It's also notable that she knew our name as Homura. She called out to us, even. I think this is Deculture telling us that wasn't all random monster of the day stuff...>>20100476

Heads up, guys. In the first thread, first picture of Mami had a line of blood circling her neck. So she could possibly lose her head in this, but not have her gem chewed to glitter. Joke image or not.
>>
>>20101598

"A-alright. Yeah, that makes sense." Sayaka breathes. "Anyway, uh...guess we should transform, right, Mami-san?"

You nod. You grip your Soul Gem tightly in your hand, before kissing the brass gilding gently. The bright amber gem glowing even more fiercely. Sayaka does the same, pressing her Soul Gem against her forehead.

Two brief blasts of light, and the both of you step forward, in your Magical Girl costumes. The hunter's garb fitting nicely over your form, and you raise a gloved hand to gently adjust the beret sitting on top of your head. Beside you, Sayaka straightens her skirt, grumbling about how seemingly shorter it's getting with every transformation.

You tug at the hem of your gloves, before snapping a hand downward - one of your signature rifles falling out and stabbing heavily into the moist, layered ground beside you. You give the readied weapon a glance - and it's then that you sigh in relief that you see that it's one of your silver rifles. Your normal rifles. You grip it by the handle and pull it out, sighting briefly along the barrel.

You're not too sure why you're relieved. What were you expecting?

"This is the part where we split up, don't we, Mami-san?" Sayaka asks, and you hear the clink of cold steel as Sayaka readies herself as well. "Or...do you want us to stick together, just in case?"

[]Split up.

The problem the first time was that she had her gem on her hair tie thing. So, when the head went, so did the gem.

I'm reasonably sure that had she not had her gem crushed, she would have been perfectly fine without a head. Kyubei DID say she never found out the truth of the gems in the show, so... she really had no reason to protect it. But WE know!

Never split the party.
And for those who are going to counter and say that Mami got her head chomped because of Sayaka & Madoka distracting her, that's because those 2 were normal girls and Mami was showing off after finally meeting some friends. This incident is a bit different as Mami's known Sayaka for some time now and Sayaka's a magical girl also.

"Once we get closer to the witch, we can split up to attack her from both sides. Until then, lets keep a clear head and focus, ok?"
>>
>>20101726
She targeted the gems BECAUSE she just found out then and there that magical girls are litches. Before then, she had no idea and wasn't trying to protect her gem.
>>
>>20101726
In that timeline she was alive far longer then in any of the others so Homura may have told her.
>>
>>20101726

even if the witch is presumed dormant/hibernating/etc... we should not take any chances.

It's, like, episode 6, maybe? Right after Madoka throws Sayaka's gem off the bridge. He mentions that "Mami didn't even find out!" when discussing the gems with Madoka and Kyoko.

It would be quite strange if this MGNQ Mami doesn't know the truth, however.

Or maybe she has been killed and revived but missing some of her memories.

This is perhaps true. We don't know entirely how MGNQ is different then Madoka in many ways.

That said, I think she was more surprised that she got stabbed and that anything was left over after the two most violent operatives in the Officio fought it out.
>>
>>20101791

>how would you handle remembering how your head got bit off?

so maybe Mami will get her head bit off during this fight but by sheer luck will she shed her soul gem before that happens.

she will get revived without the memories but when the Kirika episode happens she will somehow remember the sensation vividly and despite that, will try to soldier on because she doesn't want to worry anyone.

>i need to start drinking one of these days, maybe.
>>
>>20101824
I think she was surprised that she had been stabbed by Kirika and disappointed with how it turned out not because of what murderface did but that she failed to stop it.

That's why I think she has actually been distant, she feels that she has in part failed both us and Kirika because she could not stop her from going crazy as she has herself and she sees what is happening with murderface as well.
>>
>>20101856
I think it is more her head gets bitten off but she doesn't get it eaten, it slips out or something since Sayaka is there to go chopping into Charlotte.

You decided that you and Sayaka should stick together then. Splitting up in this kind of barrier would be dangerous, considering that the area itself is unfamiliar and the terrain unstable. You're not even putting it past this barrier to have some sort of thematic traps - like the cake floor giving way to a hot molten chocolate bath, or something. You sticking together wouldn't exactly make things go faster, but at the very least you'll be prepared for whatever happens.

You tell Sayaka to go ahead and scout ahead of you. Five meter distance, as little sound as possible. You'll cover her, same as always. She nods at this, grinning as she draws another sword from the depths of her cake.

"Alright, Mami-san. Hopefully we don't run into some sort of candy monster, or something." She whispers, smiling "Maybe we should've brought Kyoko-chan with us, you know? Just let her loose here and she'd eat us a path right into the Witch, guaranteed. She's got the biggest sweet tooth I've ever seen."

You barely supress a giggle, before you shush her again and usher her back into being serious about all this. She does so immediately, and the both of you begin stalking through the barrier, running from cover to cover, as quiet as possible, sneaking whenever the situation decreed it. The key here was to avoid being detected by familiars, which meant steering clear of any sentient moving object milling about the barrier. Being seen or accidentally killing one could potentially bring the Witch on your asses, and you're trying to get the jump on it before it does that.

>>20101883

Well, she might still be able to control the body. Her body's physical functions have nothing to do with her life status; it's essentially a puppet to the soul gem. She might just have two separate parts, then; a head to see the area and a body to try to stumble around and still fight.

Given that all the magical girls working for QB are contracted through QB, is Matsuda contracted through him? Matsuda was found in a Witch's Barrier, probably Charlotte's, and I imagine she was already a magical girl thanks to time traveling.

>>

It's then that a sudden cold feeling washes over you, and you feel a warm sensation at the side of your head. You raise your hand towards it - it's your Soul Gem, pulsating warmly. You realize that Kyuubey had, in fact, failed to mention something else about this barrier besides how...eerily strange it is.

Someone is trapped here. A fellow Magical Girl, calling for help.

And she's dying.

"M-Mami-san?" Sayaka looks back at you, her eyes wide with fear. "I...I can feel her, too. She's around here, somewhere..."

You see her grip her swords tighter, to the point that the steel handles start to creak.

"W-what do we do?" She looks towards you, looking completely helpless. Looking to you for help, for guidance. You realize that this will be, inf act, the first time Sayaka had encountered something like this.

What did you decide to do here?

[]Hunt for the dying Magical Girl. She takes priority.
[]Proceed as normally planned. Whoever she is, she's already dead. Killing this Witch will be enough.
>>
>>20101937
I was just thinking that no one was trusting Midori because she was originally contracted through a rival Inubator and thus was wondering why anyone trusted Matsuda when she appears to be in the same position.
>>
>>20101923

Incubators in this setting can override and takeover contracts, albeit at risk of killing the magical girl. Kyubey did this to Midori so something similar might have happened to Chiaki, maybe.
>>
>>20101932
There might be pain, but not as much as a normal person actually having your head torn off would be. That's the point of the soul gem set up, according to Kyubei; to lessen the pain so you can continue to fight even with crippling wounds.

That said, as far as I recall, there isn't a time where someone's limb is removed and the camera follows it. I don't think the original Madoka material ever get into that level of gore/focus?

Part of me wants to abandon Matsuda to her death just to cause a time paradox, but I'm guessing even if we ignore her Matsuda would survive anyway. Plus, it's not in Mami's character to just leave someone to die.
>>

let's not go where someone has already failed and attracted the Witch's attentions.

[x]Proceed as normally planned. Whoever she is, she's already dead. Killing this Witch will be enough.
>>
>>20101941

If these is already a magical girl in here, AND she's been defeated to the point of dying, we need to be extra careful with this witch. Clearly, she's already to a point where she can defend herself. If Sayaka is as new to this as she appears, we might want to take the witch on by our self.

We can't risk two girls getting hurt, after all.

I say we find the wounded, have Sayaka take her out of the barrier to get healed, and finish the witch ourselves.
>>
>>20101940
Huh, good point. I suppose it'll depend on whether signals from the body are transmitted by the brain or by every individual neuron.

Time is much more slippery then that. If we find her, she gets rescued and thats how she joins but is mad at us for leaving the hunt behind to help her.

If we don't, we'll find her later, and the damage done and the time spent away from critical care will be what caused her mind to snap and be a bitch.

Either way, it's our fault.

We look for her, if we find her, Sayaka checks on her whilst Mami stays on overwatch. This is probably a trap. Oh, and get a move on, seeing as if a MG is in here fighting/dying, the witch may not be dormant much longer.

Since you accepted Kyuubey's contract, you've made certain promises to yourself. Each one meaningful, each one markedly more difficult than the last, and each one you plan to carry out whatever it takes. One of them, of course, was to never let a Magical Girl die on your watch while there was something that could be done about it.

This is why you yourself had devoted a significant chunk of your career learning the taxing art of healing - how to heal fatal wounds by brute-forcing it with your Soul Gem. Of course, you've never really had an opportunity to use it - you've even been warned not to, as it drains Soul Gem purity like nothing else - but the fact that you can do it at the very least helps you sleep just a bit easier, knowing that you can pull it off if it's needed. You can save a life when it needs saving.

You decided to save the Magical Girl. You don't even waste time thinking about the contrary. That's the way it's going to be. If your doing so rouses the Witch and you have to kill it by yourself - while Sayaka gets the injured Magical Girl out of this Barrier - then so be it.

Sayaka nods, swallowing audibly. Her eyes still wide and staring, but she seems to be pulling it together now that you both have a definite course of action. She closes her eyes and breathes in deeply - and you see an expressionless mask slide over her face as she opens her eyes. Eyes dilating, breathing normalizing. Eversor training coming into play.

Wonder if amnesiac Murderface will still have long hair or not.

"Alright, Mami-san." Sayaka murmurs. "Rescue the girl, kill the Witch. Simple enough." Another breath. "I have her scent. I know where she is."

You give her a nod, and it's then that the blue-haired Eversor breaks into a run, deeper into the Barrier. Her cape unfurling behind her. Heading right towards what seems to be a long bridgeway, with a set of double doors at the very end. An unlit OPERATION IN PROGRESS sign at the very top of the doors.

You follow suit, running faster than you've ever ran before.

There really is no time to waste. No time at all.

Sayaka bursts through the doors - you thought she was going to cut them open, but they yield easily enough - and you follow suit only a few heartbeats later.

You nearly slam into Sayaka's caped form as you do so. The Eversor standing stock still, not even breathing deeply. Keeping up with her, however, had taken the breath out of you just a bit.

"Mami-san?" Sayaka murmurs, awe and fear in her voice. "I...I think I found the girl. But then, I think...I think the Witch wasn't dormant at all."

She points upward. The doors had led to some sort of towering, circular room, the ceiling nearly invisible because of high up it is. The walls are curved with no corners, with platforms standing on thin stalks, like some sort of minimalist mushroom, reach up to impossible heights. Donuts the size of truck tires litter the background. Candies the size of a human skull rolling despondently on a hard chocolate floor.

In the very center of the room, a girl wearing a Magical Costume that's made up of whites and purples, with black stockings. Her hair, black and impossibly long, obscures her face. She's lying on her back - and there's a ragged hole in the center of her chest. The blood caked and dried.

Above her - things. Large, gigantic, flying things, pure black with bright orange spots, reminding you of colossal slugs. Twisting and spinning languidly in midair. Each the size of a...an entire bus. Or a whale. Their faces cartoon-like, clownish, with wide toothy smiles that reminded you quite sharply of sharks.

"...Mami-san?" For what seems to be the hundredth time today, Sayaka asks you what to do. And this time, her voice is trembling as she does so.

The only problem is, you don't quite know how to answer her.

It's over? Damn.
Thanks for the threads, and that. I'm enjoying Mami's perspective a lot; it's interesting to see her way of thinking.

Cover Sayaka while she cuts her way through and grabs the mysterious girl that we definitely don't know. Then five rounds rapid to the various faces as we retreat. We get the girl out and then come back later to finish the witch.

Seconded. Mami is a really interesting P.O.V character. It'll be a shame when she goes flesh of fallen angels...

Thanks for the thread Deculture! Reckon we'll have any more early threads, or are we going back to the old schedule?

Im sure he can't skip too much work, to instead run the quest. Much as we might wish otherwise.

Meh. I personally prefer morning games like this to last night's run. *shrug*

Maybe I'll make a Mami Chikuwa for the flashback threads. The Chiaki one was pretty fun to draw and I must admit to feeling happy at seeing it used.
>>

If deculture is okay with it

DOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOIT

The Chiaki one is cool is all...

Chikuwa version:

Default
Chiaki
Mami
Misaka
Sayaka
Kyoko
Iori
Midori
Kirika (RIP)
Pinky

each with its own slight defference.

that would be awesome.

not trying to force you or anything, i was just throwing in ideas for it, although it does look like a request now that you mention it.

So basically Mami is Dexter with boobs?
>>

And magical powers, yes.
>>
>>20104733
Now... actually... hold up. If Homaru is only now coming into this timeline after her hole-filled fight with Madoka/Pinky/Faust, how does Mami ALREADY have a Golden Weapon?

Does this mean that Faust was doing her thing here well before Homaru stumbles onto this timeline?
>>
>>20106481

That's probably the most likely explanation. The whole Faust and Homura business started up well before this quest, and Faust started to exert her influence into the world as Homura was half-dead with her heart ripped out. Or Faust existed well before this and the golden weapons into the world to increase her power, and is only now strong enough to manifest as Pinky.
>>
>>20107096
There's also her planetoid sized BATTLESTATION.

she's been around for a while.
>>
What if the main threads are all inside This heartless Murderface's head?

Or if witches can make huge reality rewrites like the one we're in now, could Faust have made an alternate world to torture Murderface with?
>>
>>20107213
>>20107096

I suppose I had always assumed that the reason Madoka changed into Faust (or whatever?) was because of the fight with Homura. This... indicates that things were going on before Homura started to meddle with plans...
>>
>>20110164
With all the time wankery, there's nothing that says "Faust" didn't arrive in the world before Homura.

I`ve been actually thinking something along those lines.

I mean, going by the hints Pinky and our Phone dropped, I think that our world and every person and magical girl in it is actually part of a huge Witch-Barrier.

We`re not real. Everyone else isn`t real. The sky, the moon, not a single soul on earth, not even Q_B, not even earth itself. They act like they are supposed to act because they were created to resemble the real world as much as possible.

We are stuck in a BAD END of Puella Magica Madoka where Homura didn`t manage to finish off Madoka before she became a Godmode-Witch.

It was lampshaded even in this Thread.

Witches try to cling to things from their past lives.

An interesting theory. Perhaps Chiaki is significant in this way because she's the only "real" thing in the witch-simulation. Or at least a copy created from something that was not native to Faust's world. But if that's true, why even bother with the golden weapons and such when you've got control of everything that happens in the universe? Unless Faust/Pinky is a lonely god looking to amuse herself for all eternity, doing all of this would be futile in the end; perhaps her creation has a life of its own and can surpass her, or become a stable reality in its own right.

Alternatively, Faust's world could be real. After achieving godlike power, she modified an existing universe by adding/borrowing elements belonging to other universes that she took a liking to. But creating such a thing drained her power greatly (along getting messed up by Homura), and thus she created the weapons to recover her power and influence. In this way, she would not be dissimilar to Ebon Night in MetaQuest, as he created Horrorworld as a place to amuse himself and recover from getting smacked down from dozens of pissed off deities.

>she would not be dissimilar to Ebon Night
Well, we know how to take care of uppity Dread Lords, don't we, boys?

Now let's find the Pillar of the World and initiate Second Impact right in Faust's face.
>>
>>20113980
Or possibly Pinky is an extension of Faust that wants to die.
She set out the golden weapons and Chiaki because she couldn't just an hero so she made something that had the potential to end her.

And maybe this isn't the first time she has attempted it given she is now spreading the golden weapons around prior to murderface being a part of everything ( which was quite heavily implied with Kilgore as well )
>>
>>20114588
I suppose it's not impossible to believe that Homura had nothing to do with the start of Faust and the Golden Weapons. She just showed up and tried to stop her later, after Faust got started.

Maybe Homura is from a different timeline entirely and came... sideways to try to stop Faust here from some reason. That would then ask where this timeline's Homura is.

Following that line of logic, potentially Homura is actually an agent of God-Madoka, sent to this timeline to defeat a rival evil-Madoka before she acended to godhood?
>>
>>20115669
Time travel doesn't work like this in PMMM.
When Homura reset the timeline she herself travel back in time which initiate the new timeline.

It's not like BTTF where you use a time machine that physically transport you in another timeline (allowing for multiple copies to exist at the same time).
