((IT RETURNS.

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Nasuverse for previous threads. It is not necessary to read them, but it helps.

IRC is #HGWSeattle @ rizon. ))

... There. It's done - they should, sorry, you should hear me now. The woman who created this ritual, quite methodical. Very good instructions. And it relies on circle magic. So it's doable. I peer out my windows through the blinds, and, confirming that the area is absent of life, sit myself on my recliner, books at my side.

Hello, Legion - or should I say, Bob? Curious how you've maintained a persona despite multiple destabilizations and recreations. My name is Luke Morcai, and I am a man without a magic family. I have a pittance for circuits, a lack of a family crest. All I have is my circles, written in a series of books I have connived, cheated, killed, and stolen into this house in the middle of nowhere, an hour's drive to any civilization. I have been told, by rumour and hearsay, that soon, a Grail War shall begin, which was proven true when I realized I have been chosen - known by the scar-like pattern on the back of my hand in three parts. I have made no summoning yet for my Servant, and I think I have a few full days to gather what I need. I am in Washington.

I have been told you are an excellent planner.

Prove it to me.

REJOICE!

We shall forever rise!

Master, now that you've made a contract with us, your wish will be undoubtedly granted!

Now, first thing you need for the summoning ritual is a relic. I think blood of the frightened innocent child will do nicely.
>>

Hell friend. But where is our true Master? Where is Eliza? Or David?

If we are to serve you, we must understand. Tell us about yourself.

*Hello
>>
I miss our real moms...

So new boss, if its a Grail war we need a servant. Any ideas on that front? Any strategies or resources you'd like to share?

>People stil pretending to be the same legion thing from all other quests
Why
>>
WE ARE BLEEDING OUT OF YOUR BRAINS!

Oh, wait, we aren't.

Huh.

Weird.

Anyway, hello, new Master.
I see you live in a comfortable morally gray area.
It's good.
For planning we need information.
Last time we were summoned ten years after 6th Grail War.
Did anything important happen since then?
How's Eliza Alexandra and David doing? Solomon?

As for your own situation. What resources do you have? What can you do with your circles, how rich are you, do you have allies or something else we should know about?

The first thing for us to do would be to find a relic. If you don't want to go blind and summon random Servant. It's an option.
According to the information we possess for no good reason, fictional characters will be summoned in this war. So, how about a collection of books?

Also, do you have connections in the Mage's Association? Knowing names of a few Masters in advance would help.
>>
>>20090545
Oh, we could summon an Assassin if we want. That could be effective.
>>
>>20090370
Alrighty. Let's get to fucking business then. We need some info. Lemme guess, Liz or David gave you the info on how to summon us? We'll get to that shit later. Right now, you need a relic don't you? Remember, you can always get your hands on a Berserker... but considering you aren't that great of a mage, it's going to be painful for you to do that. Hmm... time to take a look at museums and shit.
>>
>>20090545
>>20090441
The Alexander estate was dissolved with the disappearance of David, and the death of Eliza at the hands of Primate Murder along with Atalanta. Solomon has nothing to do with any of this - He is still with the Church, as far as I am aware.

>>20090545
>>20090562
I am uncertain what you mean by fictional characters - however, there are several museums in the area. Have you any specific ideas? One is hosting a notable exhibit on the works of notable science fiction authors, another on the knights of Charlamagne, those spring to mind foremost.

As I check my email, it seems I have a new message from an unknown address - after carefully making certain it is safe, I open it.

"To the Combatants

This e-mail is automated, and is being sent to the various Masters selected by the Great Grail. If you have been selected, please arrive at the convention center in Tacoma at noon pacific today. Speak to the large man who will be waiting there these words: 'We shall split it down the center, and divide it among you'.

And to all of you - may the greatest win."

Hm.

M-master? Not like this... We didn't even have a chance to say goodbye.
>>
>>20090661
Huh.
Well, given the unusual nature of this war summoning is to be expected.
You should go.
However, I have a question: do you have a gun?
Protective magic?
It's always a bad idea to meet magi unprepared.

Guys, our Master doesn't have good circuits, and has no crest. If we summoned a Saber, we could be horribly disadvantaged.

Good questions. Tell them about us, how we knew Liz, and you might get a little help. Our you're gonna get killed. Worth a shot though.
>>20090824
I'm partial to a Berserker myself. I mean, our new Master is a shit mage. A Berserker will level the playing field if it doesn't kill him through prana usage.
>>
>>20090858
The problem is Independent Action skill.
And Casters can have a way to continue their existence without Master.
Look at Solomon. He's doing fine.
If we do summon Assassin, we'll need to play other Masters against each other, not just pick them.
I'd say we use rum and cigars as a relic, summon Baron Samedi and go to party in New Orlean.
Even if we lose, it will be worthwhile time.
And he may be able to haxx our way to the Grail.
>>
>>20090893

I'd be inclined more toward Saber or Caster, myself. More bang for your buck than Berserker.

Also
>Not aiming for Saber, which is universally considered the best class
>>
>>20090919
>Baron Samedi
Sensing a serious bad end here. And our Master doesn't have the energy to power a big name like that to his full effectiveness. He MIGHT be able to summon a sufficiently HAX guy out of the Knights of Charlemagne. And there is always Berserker Master, if you don't mind a horrible death.
>>
>>20090945
>>20090919
I support this. Alcohol won us the first war, Alcohol will win us this war.

It's Baron time.
>>
>>20090919
Summon a Caster if you want to optimize access to the Grail. With a weaksauce Master, you need to find alternate methods of harvesting prana.

Master, what resources do you have? Could you consistently get us access warm bodies to feed a Servant or supply you with prana transfer?

Casters can hack the Grail, but require a lot of juice
Bersekers are suicide. You need a Master with a LOT of mana circuits to rock this.

Assassin would be tricky but worth working with. If we run with this tactical-like, we can solo the other Masters. Are you a tactical genius, my fellow Legionnaires?
>>
I say we go for Archer
Archer is pretty much the class of HAX NPs and god knows Hax NPs are the way to go
>>
>>20090954
Hmm. So many options.
Hey, Master, you happen to got the jaw bone of a donkey? I think we've got a Servant we can summon with that.
>>
>>20090976
That's the thing with caster, if he knows an efficient prana gathering spell the we have a game-changer.

Also, where is the original Black Bob? The guy is smart, if evil.
>>
>>20090737
I am armed with a handgun and a .44 revolver. I enjoy having backups. The house is warded with enough circle magic to tell me when someone intrudes, and how many individuals are within it at all times. Currently, only myself and you.

By the way, your rage is most amusing. The damn woman stepped too close to the domains of the vampires. What was to be expected, that they would lay in a coffin and watch humanity surpass them?

>>20090902
I am not in any mood to seek them out. I am not well-liked by the Clock Tower, in any case, and since I summoned you, not the Alexander family, your loyalty to their views may be in heavy question.

>And Casters can have a way to continue their existence without Master.
>Look at Solomon. He's doing fine.

Solomon is not a servant. Have the years deluded you?

At any rate, it seems I will be seeking out the relic of a knight of Charlamagne. Which is excellent - the varied legends of them may provide ample pick among their members.

>>20090992
I will... consider it.

More to the point is the gathering today. I ride to Tacoma and approach the place, and what sensing I can do finds no traps. Not even any familiars.

A young blonde woman approaches me - her hair is short, and she has soft blue eyes.

"You should not bother. I would not allow traps in this gathering." she states evenly.

>>
>>20091030

>>
>>20091030
Understand this. We will not tolerate the slandering of Mistress Eliza. That will be our rule. We will murder, we will steal, we will aid you as you fight this war. But this is a line you won't cross. She was good to us.

As for this woman, I must suspect that she is the Overseer, or at least another Master. Speak, but do so with caution.
>>
>>20091030
Why we're angry at Liz dying is because we helped her get to the Third Magic. She was also our first Master, Master. So show some damn respect.

Also, the Solomon we're talking about really isn't Solomon. He was a fake or something summoned in the Sixth War.

Be on your guard here Master.
>>
>>20091030
Solomon was a servant, kinda sorta, we were there.

Give me more details on your Circle Magic?

Be on your guard, don't make the first trap or be the first to set it off, you're a bit too much of a wimp to turn yourself into a target.

Also, do not speak of Eliza that way. We happen to like her.

What are we getting out of helping you?
>>
>>20091053
Basic plan with Berserker: Summon him and go all out offense as fast as possible.
>>20091048
Bueno... Hell, with the .44 and us you might be able to summon him right now.
>>

We should summon a random servant.
>>
>>20091030

The other Solomon.
Anyway, there was Medea who also existed without Master for enough time to cause trouble.

Also, I still don't know what are you talking about regarding Eliza, but I suggest to be polite. She created us, after all.
No need for us to antagonize each other. That leads to Bad Ends.

Also, question. Can you create regular familiars? Familiar pigeons with explosives are always good.

Greet the woman, be polite.

Please. I know of morality - and in fact follow it to the best of my ability. However, I'm not about to let it get in my way of survival. And survival... is information. I have lived as long as I have by carefully learning all I can of this 'other world'. I have connived, I have stolen, I have killed - to learn. The magic of knowledge and ritual is my standby, and given time, money, and materials, I can do almost anything.

I adjust my glasses as I rise from my examinations.
"Is that so? You would not allow it?"

She smiles.
"I would not - and neither would my partners in this place." she states cryptically. "I am Ruler - this is my safe haven. Here there are no surprise assaults, traps, or watchers, except those myself and the other Rulers employ."

"...Rulers?"

She sighs. "Just come inside. You know the code words, correct?"

"...Yes." I say, hesitantly repeating them. I follow her inside, into the large room inside the building. I look around...

At least twenty individuals mill about. None of them stand out especially so, except for the four individuals sitting on the stage. The woman who lead me in speaks to the other three, and they all come to an agreement as the woman calls out. "All of you Masters - take your seats!" she calls, as there is a sound of locking doors.

Her body shines, and armor adorns her, a sword at her hip. A silver crest sits upon her head.

"I am Ruler. And this... is the orientation of the Great Grail War."

>An Orientation?

One of the Masters speaks up, but is swiftly silenced by a glare from one of the men on the stage - a larger fellow with a green sweater and darker green jeans. Jeanne speaks again.

"Certainly it is not normal to gather you all and tell you how things are expected to work. But then, this is not a normal grail - as you have no doubt surmised. There are four sets of masters - and four sets of servants. Each feed into their own sort of grail - and these four will combine into the greatest spell, the miracle-granting Great Grail." she explains. "These grails draw from history and legend, literature, interactive fiction, and folklore." she says.

I adjust my glasses, taking mental notes. So it's something like... this? (image)

Hm.

"The Grails are seperated by color aside from where they draw Servants from. Interference can occur between the various colors - this is open war. Distance and time are of no issue. If you surrender, come to this place or any church, and they will protect you. There is to be no hostile action for a period of forty eight hours - any deaths among you will be assumed to be enemy action and pursued thusly after an investigation by myself and local Executors. You have been warned. Now then, before I release you to start preparations, do you have any questions?"

"Summoning Catalysts for fictional heroes?" I ask, and a tall man with long hair and a full beard - dressed in simple white clothes - steps forth. "The single object which most inspired their creation." he states simply. "If that is all?" he looks to the others - the burly man, Jeanne, and a hooded individual, and they all nod.
"Get thee hence! Go forth and summon thy weapons, Masters! And prepare yourself for war!" Jeanne calls out. Her words are loud, but not grating, her voice almost like song.

We all rise and mill out, and it seems I'll need to finally decide once and for all: What exact relic should I seek for my Servant? The true artifact on display in the museum (There is only one), the item in the exhibition of science fiction, or something else in specific.

Master, I suggest you ask lady Jeanne why the grail system has seen fit to summon multiple Ruler servants. They answer only to the grail itself and the pressence of more than one is worrisome. Even the church judges and whoever set up this nrw system can't control Rulers, and that screams danger.

Also, all you Bobs rushing to embrace fiction servants are asking to die. Those grails are traps set by whoever is behind this, I garuntee it. Stick to history or try to get simething hax glitchy from White.

Lets observe our options.
Charlemange: what artefact? To which paladin did it belong? One of them was demon summoner, we don't want him as a Caster when we can go for Baron.
Sci-fy: again, which one? You can get some shitty everyday hero if you're unlucky.
Buy chicken, rum and cigars just in case. Then lets see what we can potentially get.

Also, generally about classes.
Knightly classes (also, isn't Lancer a knight class and not Rider?) have advantages, but also tend to have hard on for HONOR. Which we don't like.
We would prefer one of them.
Saber is overall the best.
Archer is haxx but may not be prana-effective.
Don't go for Lancer. Believe us.
Rider have some powerful NP, but usually very prana-consuming.
Berserker... Well, there are options, but... no, too high a risk for my liking.
Caster is haxx. Also weak. You will need to cheat the fuck out of the whole system with him.
Assassin is weak. But we will go for Masters first, for Servants later anyway, so viable option. We will need to play our cards very carefully, though.

So far, I'd say Charlemange paladin is our first option, Baron's second.

(No consensus reached. Character vote used.)

Hm.

It appears that the requirements for summoning a 'fiction' hero are highly restrictive. I cannot be certain which hero I will receive, or if the relic will even count! With this in mind, and mulling my options, it seems wisest to go with the one that will produce, at least, predictable results.

Looking upon the information available for the relic in the museum, it's a recently discovered remnant of a horn belonging to Astolpho, or Roland. No one is sure which. The science fiction is mainly focused on Ray Bradbury and Isaac Clarke.

Other than that, I need a /specific/ item that is not merely 'connected' to the character in question - it MUST be, unquestionably, the root of their inspiration.

If there are no objections, I will be going with >>20092209 's opinion and seeking out the artefact from the museum's Charlemange first.

Riders may cost more mana to use thier np's, but they need a lot less to fight normally than a knight and at least some of them are a physical match for them. And thier nps are almost alqays hella broken.

Master, is there any other likely source of summoning mats besides the two museams?

Also i wouldnt count on chicken and cigars calling Samedi. Theyre as likely to get colonel sanders or general patton. You need more than a vague association, the link has to be hella strong to garuntee a summon.

Hey, other Legions, sorry I'm late - OH GOD WHAT FOUR GRAILS.

Anyway, I do know of the inspiration for a very good fictional Saber, assuming we can get to Japan. As the eldritch online encyclopedia says: "principally inspired by Shigeru Miyamoto's explorations as a young boy in the hillsides surrounding his childhood home in Sonobe, Japan where he ventured into forests with secluded lakes, caves, and rural villages. According to Miyamoto, one of his most memorable experiences was the discovery of a cave entrance in the middle of the woods. After some hesitation, he apprehensively entered the cave, and explored its depths with the aid of a lantern."

Failing that, I think we should go assassin. The horn is okay too I guess.

As much as I would love to have samus as a servant, I can't recommend attempting to summon her without having any idea what inspired her.

>>
>>20093494

Attention Bobs:

If you want to try to get Baron Samedi or Samus Aran through random summon, be warned: The less specific artifacts you use, the less likely you are to get a specific servant.

The weaker the tie of the servant to the catalyst, the more likely the grail is to send you a servant that matches your personality, like it did with Ryuunosuke and Bluebeard. Baron Samedi and Samus Aran are nothing like the guy whose head we are in right now.

That said, if you want to try, using the Chicken/Booze/Cigars combo is fine for Samedi. For Samus, we'd need the three elements that inspired her game and character: a copy of Alien, a copy of Super Mario Brothers, and a copy of The Legend of Zelda. Summon her as Archer.

Just be prepaired to be disappointed if we go random. Baron and Samus aren't the only thing we could get with generalized components.

I vote for summoning whoever we get with the horn. Roland and Astolpho would both be good servants.

Very well. I set the horn fragment, black and cracked, into the center of the prepared circle. You should know - I'm back in my secluded home, operating under the night sky. I'm afraid I forgot to notate the time for you, it's almost midnight. This leaves me with a full day and a half.

The chant comes to my lips naturally. The circle glows at first, and then a trumpet blares, fire blasting from it and wind bowling me over as I finish the incantation. The fires roar and the winds howl as they merge into a shape - a horse of flame and fire, with glowing eyes. And atop it, at first appearing to be a wooden statue, appears a young...

And then I want to go meet some of the other Masters. Always good to know the competition, and we've got a 48-hour ceasefire. Time to scout for allies, Master.

Looks like we've got us a Rider. One fucking HELL of a Rider.

Not the best outcome.
Say yes, welcome him back into the world of the living.
Be polite but authoritative.
What can you tell us about his(?) stats and NPs?
We need to know it.

Also, I still have unanswered questions: what are the capabilities of your circle magic? Can you create usual familiars?
Also, time and location doesn't matter.
Does it mean we can chill out on Maldive and let everyone else to kill each other?
There must be some restrictions. Otherwise I bet someone will run to Alaska.

Yes, I'm your master, now come here so I can transfer mana to you.
>>

Yes. Yes we are.

Exchange introductions with the young... man. Tell him who you are. Hell, tell US who you are. I really want some more info on you, master. Who are you, what are your motives, how did you find the spell to summon us, what are your capabilities and resources, that sort of thing. If we're going to work together, we need to know who you are.

Also, there's still a ceasefire going. Try scouting the area, maybe find some temporary allies.

Also, I think we'll have a problem with prana. Our Master is not the greatest of magi to ever live. Some NP can be unaccessible due to the lack of prana.
And no, mana transfers will not help, if I understand correctly: we already have regular connection with the Servant, so he shall receive prana from us without any active actions.
Prana-snacks may be in order.

"My name is Luke Morcai. I am your master."

"Oh, good! I'm always worried when I say that that someone will tell me it was a mistake." he says, dismounting from the horse. It's quite tall, but vanishes when he hits the ground and does a little bow. "I'm guessing you want to know what I'm capable of? Full disclosure."

"Yes, that'd be excellent."

"Alright then! Let's head inside, and get into your bedroom."

"...What."

"Your bedroom! It's the room with the best wards, right?"

"... Yes."

"Okay, so we'll just go th-"

"Living room. We are having this discussion in the living room."

"But what if someone listens in, or sees?"

"Goddamnit, just get in the house already!"

"You act way older than you look, sir." he says with a laugh. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were younger than I!"

"Look, just get inside."

"Alright, alright, just don't push."

We eventually find ourselves in my home, and he goes over his abilities.

First of all: He's an excellent rider. His entrance showed me that, but he spoke of being able to ride anything - so long as he mounts the saddle and takes the reigns, he can control it, even enhance it. Enemies who touch his horse are set ablaze and blown away, and it's very, very fast. Secondly, he is adept at using a lance - but its magical abilities are sealed in this class. And finally, his horn can scare away anyone. He seems quite proud of how hard he can blow it.

Goddamnit. It's gonna be a long war.

I've got things that I myself want and it'd be silly of me to offer the services of the adviser who won the Grail War for someone once already for nothing.

Also what is your wish going to be?
>>
>>20094334
Still not Baron Samedi, but I'll live with it.
What time is it?
I still have unanswered questions.
Also, ask him about his... moral position.
We could consider killing innocents for our goal.
But something tells me he wouldn't be OK with it.
Also, his preferred method of combat.
Does he have this fixation on HONOR that plagues knights? Or is he OK with a little bit underhanded methods?
Horn of terror kinda points to the latter, but I want to know for sure.
Approach the topic delicately, don't state your own position to him just yet if he doesn't ask or you can evade an answer without looking like you hiding something.

"... I'll need context."

"Survival. Gaining an upper hand. Things like that."

"Innocents, no. Never." he says. "People who have wronged me, people who have wronged others, sure, if it will help me protect the innocent." I nod.

"Your preferred method of combat?"

"Ride in on Rabicano and stab them, generally. If I can't win, I blow my horn and run. My friends may have been all about honor, but I stopped trying that around the time some foul witch made me into a god damn tree."

"And your Giant?"

"No way I'm getting that thing out with your Prana." he says bluntly.

"Ah."

>>20094644
It's a little late to socialize now - but I can head out in the morning.

"So..." Astolpho looks around. "No couch? Just... one bed?" he asks, fidgeting.

"Goddamnit, I'll sleep on the floor."

He smiles.
"Really?"

"Yes. Really."

"I'll make you breakfast! Thank you."

I grumble, pulling a second comforter from the bed, and laying on the floor.

"Wow! It's so biiig!" he cries out, as I hear armor clattering to the floor. He makes a small sound as he stretches. "You're sure you don't wanna share?"

"I'm sure." I manage, deadpan.

Anyway...
No killing innocents. That sucks. Easiest way to get some free prana.
At least he's OK with some underhanded methods...
We may be able to pull Henderson on our enemies.

Again, I ask you, Master:
- capabilities of your magecraft. A few examples if you please so I'll have a frame of reference.
- ability to make regular familiars.
- money
- other resources

Also, checking an island near Seattle may do you some good.
I'm not sure if generators are still there... Probably not.
It's a long shot.
Better to concentrate on scouting. Ceasefire is still in place, you can meet other Masters and look for potential allies.

Master, Astolfo's horse is pretty signature, and not a lot of other legends have one that distinct, so I think it would be wise to acquire him a mount to use in non-emergency situations. Any sort of vehicle will probably do, even a mountain bike or a skateboard or something if you're lacking funds.

A mundane/mortal horse or other animal might also be an option if you can find a stable. Remember, his riding stat is high enough to fortify his mount, so even a normal animal will get a lot of benefits.

In terms of alliances, I think it would be wise to seek out a Caster class servant. Having access to Astolfo's giant, which is probably his most powerful Noble Phantasm, it a big problem, and a Caster might have the means to solve it.

Alternatively, you're a ritual magus yourself. Consider methods that might fortify his mana supplies to the point where using the Giant is viable, at least in an emergency.
>>

Tell him to never ever mention Roland to someone else, we're trying to keep his identity secret, a fact which is helped by his appearance. In fact tell him that when he's about in town we should probably get him a dress or skirt for that to throw them off the trail and make them guess someone else.

Did Astolpho shoe his own horse? Even most knights let blacksmiths tend to their horse's hooves because they just didn't have the skill.

That said, you SHOULD look after your ride a bit better, master. In fact, you two should go into town to get some supplies for that right now. Do some reconnaissance while you're at it.

Anyway, he's got a point. With your terrible magical capacity, we're going to have to look at mundane solutions to issues and that means becoming VERY familiar with the limitations of your equipment.

Ask him to keep stories to a minimum though, lest his legend be revealed - there's always the risk of familiars and such.
>>

I don't think a psuedonym is really necessary, especially not one so close to his actual name.

Referring to him by his class title is enough. That's part of the reason its there, and really, if we get into a fight, his class is going to get revealed in a big god damn hurry anyway.

Just call him Rider. Our last master called Odysseus Archer, and that worked out just fine.

How about Snookums or Sweetie. It'll completely throw the rest of the Masters off of the trail, they'll never predict that it's Astolfo then. And we may as well keep the fact that it's Rider hidden for now, you can't exactly process of elimination it that well in this clusterfuck of a war.

"You're the one who asked me to bed!"

"You're the one who took it the wrong way and slept on the floor!"

"So you're not - "

"As if I'd tell you." he says grumpily. "Look, I can just ditch the armor. See?" he says, standing and dropping the robe. I almost panic, but underneath is a simple black dress that reaches his thighs. "But the ribbons stay. They have to stay."

I nod, rising.
"How do you brush that horse, anyway?"

He smirks.
(Cont.)

"Carefully." he says, "Anyway, let's get to town. You need some tools for your car."

"And we need to get some weapons - materials to make explosives, some other things." I say. "I already have a loading bench for my guns, so..."

Rider laughs as we get in the car, as he slides into the driver's seat, his eyes light up.

I direct him to town. He's a surprisingly safe driver, careful and meticulous.

"So we're seeking alliances, right?" he asks.

"One thing we're doing, yes." I say. "Mostly just shopping."

"Look, my budget is high - but limited." he warns. "It can run out, it's not passively generated. And it'll attract attention if we use too much at once. In this age, I have a bank account and all that, but because of grail stuff, no one notices it popping up."

"...How much?"

"... Uuuuhm..." he thinks for a moment. "Your house, your car, everything in it... I could probably buy it a couple times over."

Might as well be shrewd with information we give to our enemies or potential enemies as there's no reason not to be. As said it won't exactly be easy to process of elimination things with 4 sets of servants and even mundane tricks like masquerading as a different gender can throw people off the trail.

We also don't know if someone could have gotten someone like Baron Samedi who can *LITERALLY* do horrible shit to you with as little as your name.

Also, keep your senses peeled for Servants, there are bound to be a few lurking about. Remember that your servant is Rider, there is nothing stopping others from sensing him.
>>
>>20095542
Yeah, what Cu said.
>>
>>20095591
Go for it.
Again, can you create explosive pigeons? That would explode at contact with the enemy?
That would be useful.
>>
We need mens of tracking Servant-sized mana sources. What can our circles do in terms of scrying.

Find a Caster, or a Berserker. Mana will be useful either from Servant or Master.
>>
>>20095631
Familiars take time to create. A lot of time, for me. Same with practically any magic - I can replicate a lot of simple magic, but it takes a long time. I have a single candle in my house that never runs low, and it took a month to do that - it's just reinforcement.

My contacts are an arms dealer and an armor dealer - I order my magic equipment anonymously to a drop box in the desert.

Assuming our cash is in the several hundred thousands, what should I look into for special purchases? I'll of course get groceries, lots of them - Rider demands the best meat and the best spices, even looking over the various cookwares - and tools for my car.. He maintains that car maintenance is paramount, and I decide to humor him.

I sense a Servant nearby as I head to the black market. Should I look for them?

Make some investments,, then. Particularly in the Insurance and construction businesses. A lot of people are gonna get hurt and a lot of buildings are gonna get wrecked. Why not actively profit from some of these tragedies by stimulating the local economies?
>>
>>20095677
Go ahead. It's still the ceasefire.
>>
>>20095677
Yes. No reason not to. Stay on your guard, though.
>>
>>20095591
Agreed - stick to basics, mostly just clothes for 'alicia' now. Remind 'her' that the disguise and fake name is a temporary measure we should be able to get rid of it later, unless 'she' likes it.

It'd be bad manners of the highest order to go "MWAHAHAHA TIME TO BURN THROUGH OUR SERVANTS MONEY" and spend it all willy nilly. After picking up some clothes and spare parts (while keeping an eye out for servants) it might be prudent to perform some social diplomancy and investigate something that can fix our mana problem, what type of contacts do we have in the world of arms dealers or mages (not involved in the war or likely to betray us).
>>
>>20095677
Go say hi to them. It doesn't matter if they see Astolpho due to our MASTERY of disguise. We might be able to gleam some knowledge about theirs with our degree in applied mythology.

Kid, if you had some time could you set up circles to channel the local Ley Lines and maybe get enough Prana running to power the Giant?
>>
>>20095677
Ceasefire, go ahead. Pray to god that its baron samedi picking up some rum and looking to make some friends.

Alert Rider.
You do have a mental link, right?
Stay on your guard.
Ceasefire or no ceasefire, someone still can try to kill you.
You have your gun, right?
But yes, go see them.

Yes, look for them. It's a good opportunity.

As for special purchases, see if you can pick up a machine pistol, like a MAC-10 or a Glock 18.
>>
>>20095677
Alert Rider of course.
Also having a definitive list of what spells you can do easily, and how far we can bend those spells would be useful for figuring how to well..win.
For example being able to cast a light spell with the strength of a candle is one thing.
Being able to cast said spell on our opponents eyes so that we can blind them is quite another.
>>
>>20095677
Master, I'm going to be extremely rude for a second here. It took you a fucking month to make a ever lasting candle. What the fuck? What can your circle magic do? I want a full list of your capabilities here.

I miss my old boss, better working conditions, I got insurance, more contacts.
>>
<Rider.>

<Yes? Why are you talking in my he- Who is that? It sounds like a bunch of monkeys wailing in your ears!>

<Sorry, that's Legion.We have a Servant near.>

<Yes, I sense them. But...>

I look around. I don't see anyone in specific. A young woman in a trenchcoat, a tall, lanky young man with revolver at his hip, a blonde girl, Rider, (who is currently attempting to enjoy an ice cream cone and having issues with his hair) and an assortment of other people.

I shake my head - the signs of a Servant are spread through the area, and seeking them out in specific is hard. I can't point anyone out as we head into the dark shop.

It's not hard to acquire body armor and ammo, as well as mines, some basic explosives chemicals, and various other things for magecraft. I also pick up an AA-12 - it's on sale, though the shop keeper comments that my wiry build might not handle it. On the way out, Astolpho frowns suddenly.

"What's wrong?"

"My ice cream - it vanished..." he says morosely.
>>
>>20095867
Vanished? For something to happen outside the notice of a Servant..

Look, Master. If we can call you that. You're relying completely on Astolfo in a straight fight, don't kid yourself. But there's one class where he might not be able to make a big impact, and that's if an Assassin comes gunning for you. You need to make serious investments in anti-Assassin measures. That means cameras - Presence Concealment will make your limited magical ability COMPLETELY useless for seeing these guys coming, and it doesn't sound like you have many defensive options. Maybe if you strap them to a familiar... The point is, if an Assassin gets first shot at you, you're dead, no bones about it, and then our adorable friend here goes belly-up without a prana source. He can probably take an Assassin, but that's gonna require prior warning.
>>
>>20095867
HNNNNNGGGG. Tell him you'll get him another one. Go look for the other Servant. Likely it's an Assassin with a lower presence concealment.
>>
>>20095867
Buy him another one.

Also, it is too early for assumptions and for all I know I may be totally wrong.
But it could be Carmen Sandiego.
Keep it in mind.
>>
>>20095867
Hey, Rider. We're not a bunch of monkeys. We're Legion, call us Bob.

When did you see your Ice Cream last? I'm guessing someone took it as a show of "look how sneaky cool I am". Might be Assassin but then would we have noticed that a servant was there unless they have low Presence Concealment. Did you pass near the guy with the revolver? Is there anyone in there whose face you just didn't really register?

We can get you another cone Astolfo, just stop looking sad, it breaks the closest thing to my heart.
>>
>>20095939
CARMEN SANDIAGO STOLE OUR SERVANTS FUCKING ICECREAM. IT IS ON.

"I'll get you more." I mutter. To make something just... vanish like that! Carmen Sandeigo? Hrmph. Well, whoever it is, I'll be sure to-

Wait, what am I thinking? Just buy his damn treat. Sheesh. He lets out a happy sound as we approach the car and I drive this time. But then someone knocks on my window.

A young woman. She looks maybe a little older than me. She shows me the back of her hand, a shining white emblem - a circle with an X through it. "I have a deal for you. If you're up for it?"
>>
>>20095867

Master, I think it would be wise to investigate the man who was openly wearing the gun more closely. Whoever stole Rider's ice cream isn't going to be easy to find, as most thieving Heroic Spirits probably have presence concealment. That guy with the gun, however, was very conspicuous, and even in a black market district openly wearing a piece on your hip isn't normal.

Check him out. He could be some sort of crazy cowboy Servant or something.
>>
>>20096045

"I'm listening."

"You're also lucky - the first Master with a strong Servant since we met. That's good. Because I can also tell..." she leans closer with a smile. "You're really low on Prana. Your connection looks like a string." she laughs idly. "Listen. My Servant is Assassin. He's not very good at guarding me from harm - but he's excellent at removing threats. I propose an alliance - I provide Prana, you provide safety."

"The terms?"

"Let me into the car, and we'll discuss that." she says smoothly. "Well?"

...That's strange. She doesn't have a Servant. At all.
>>
>>20096045

You play square with me, and I will with you. Otherwise, we may have a problem.
>>

No, even with Assassins, you should be able to sense Prana output from the Master. You can't tell where it goes, though. But her... Nothing. It's like the connection doesn't exist.

Suddenly, her Command Seals wink out.

She looks down at it and smiles.
"Best not to think too hard on it. He'll be back. He always comes back." she says with a shrug. "So?"

"Yeah. Get in. You fuck with us, you get a spear in the gut, clear?"

She nods, and we drive - not home.

<Secondary location I have prepared.>

<O-oh.> he says, surprised.

Hah, as if I'd show a random woman where I live and work...!

We arrive at an apartment building, and she gets out.
"Hope you like the taste of blood, little girl." she says with a smirk as we go inside. I store the groceries in the fridge for now as she cuts her arm with a scalpel and Astolpho begins to lick at the wound, then suck on it.

I focus on the groceries.

"Weak stomach." she comments, then looks at me. "If you want..."

"No thanks. Just him. He's a better battery anyway." I finish putting away the stuff, and sigh. "I get couch. You and Rider can work out the bed."

"Alright. So chivalrous, giving up your bed for the girls~."

The way she talks. Carefree. No, that's not quite the right word. It's like she doesn't care... Like nothing matters. The only thing she cares about is survival. That's the impression I get - from her blank face, the quiet tone of her words, the slight smile on her otherwise blank face.

>>

>>
>>20096540
It's better that you don't know. Certain entities are empowered by awareness of their identities. We can provide tactical consult, to which our current consult is, PREPARE TO GEEK THE MAGE.

Seriously, this chick is bad news. If she did this without a catalyst, even worse. Don't expect this to be a reliable alliance in the least, and don't give her your name.

I'd also recommend not reading anything she presents you. Pure verbal communication. If she needs you at range, she can use familiars.
>>
>>20096540
Master, you are about to be initiated into art of double-crossing.
Tell Rider via mental link that Bob thinks she is Very Fucking Bad News.
Her Servant is an eldritch abomination that erase people from existence. She may or may not give a fuck about it.
His name cannot be spoken without summoning him, so we're going to call him Fatman.

And so, you are going to kill her or get Rider kill her once ceasefire is over.
She cannot live.
It's imperative.
Do hope that her death will stop the Fatman.
>>
>>20096571

>>

The name of her servant. We think we've worked it out. Let's just say... it's bad. Really really bad. As in, you want this girl dead the moment the ceasefire is up bad. Seriously. Her servant is trouble. Even saying its NAME is trouble. We can't really say more without putting you in danger. Trust us.

Seriously, we've been through a grail war and an all-out siege with a pack of vicious werewolves. This... thing... would have us shitting our pants if we had a body with which we could wear pants. Be fucking careful.
>>
>>20096540

Master, you referred to your servant as both "he" and "Rider," in two sentences around this woman, who is the master of an Assassin class servant AND apparently suffers from clinical psychopathy.

She seems not to have noticed, but I wouldn't count on that.

Try to get some information out of her. Ask for more specifics about the alliance she wants to strike up, and see if you can get any information about her servant. We have a strong suspicion, but confirmation is best.

Also, i would STRONGLY suggest not being alone with her. Ever. Keep Rider with you at any time she knows your location.
You need to work on that.
>>
I warned you about mythical or supernatural monsters names, also before bed ask her for her name
>>
>>20096620

As for the name bit, don't ask, we won't tell. All you have to know is that this girl needs to DIE. As in it's bad enough I am considering telling you to kill her now and fuck the consequences, but I think we can wait until the ceasefire is over.

In addition you are GOING to sleep with Rider at your side. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? This is for safety, this girl might just slit your throat in your sleep for shits and giggles. This is no longer jovial Bob, you are going to cuddle him like your life depends on it because it very well might.
>>
>>20096617
(Dear god, could you imagine how nasty the battle between slimjim and baron samedi could be?)

Don't trust this mage, she sounds like very bad news if she summoned who we think she did especially if she did it without a catalyst. Prepare to kill her on a moments notice - this is alliance of necessity, nothing else, unless we can somehow convince her to get rid of her servant.
>>
>>20096619
I go to lay down on the couch. Time passes quietly. The time until the end of the ceasefire ticks ever closer. Me and Rider go out a few time to pick up a few more things we'll need, but Arrie is always on the floor, rocking back and forth when we return, a smile on her face as she stares at her hand and coughs quietly.

Night comes, slowly. Rider loves watching TV with me, but she's always staring out the window.

I don't think we should kill her just yet. Get more info first. Tell her you don't need her blood, she should save it for Rider and... Him. Ask her if she can make sure He will not hurt you and Rider. That's paramount. If she can promise that, I say she can be a valuable asset.

We don't want to get the reputation of untrustworthy assholes by backstabbing our ally the second the truce is up. We'll never get another alliance, and we NEED allies to win this war.

The command seal was a bit obvious.

ANYWAY.

We have ten minutes to chat this young woman up and see what she's up to. To remind her of the deal we made for her protection. If she's willing/wants to kill people we can phrase things in such a way that we can direct her and her Assassin towards everyone else. This will give us time. And we desperately needs that right now.
>>
>>20096950

Sorry, I meant to say Servant.

Also, I doubt her usefulness, I mean, who the fuck summons that...thing...into this world. Psychosis leads to unpredictability. I prefer sociopaths, at least they act in predictable fashions, I want someone who I can at least rely on their selfishness to guide them into doing what I want. With Psychos it can sometimes be a case of true chaotic neutral, they really can be just as likely to walk across a bridge as to burn it. We don't know what her triggers are, unless something changes in the next 10 minutes murdering her and ending this is the best option. I doubt we could with our terrible circuits but if we could gain control of it...we'd be nearly unstoppable. Frighteningly dangerous.
>>
>>20096968
"It wouldn't do me much good. I've terrible circuits, after all."

"Mmmn. Are you sure?" she asks softly, her Seals growing brightly, then winking out again. She giggles. "Another one~." she says. "I don't even know who it is. He just chased someone - through a house, through a forest... And then... Nothing. Nothing there anymore. No more worries, no more cares. That is best. Nothing. Nothing knows best. Nothing knows best." she says softly, sliding to sit atop the bed. I try not to look - her bare legs visible just in my field of vision.
"You should stop being so scared. Don't think. Don't feel. It's wonderful. When we orgasm, we don't think, or feel anything. I'[m like that... All the time..." she says softly.

I just noticed - her arms... her fingers... are covered in scars. Small ones, deep ones. Missing fingernails. Her tongue is missing chunks. And... she's naked now, for some reason. Her whole body... Scarred. Some of them very deep.

<Time?>

<11:55. Are you okay?>

<I'm fine. I'll call you when I need you. Don't come in here - it might be dangerous.>

<...Okay. Be careful.>
>>
Ok now it is without a doubt who we think it is, just listen to our advice master

Luke, if you start thinking with your boner right now I will start playing dubstep in your head for the rest of my existence. Do you understand?

Play for time, get Astolfo right outside ready to kick down the door and take her head off. Distract her somehow. Get her on a different subject, you need 6 minutes.

Also, she must die.
Get Rider in here, get him chop off her hand once command seals cease to be again.
We want to kill her to death.
She is too crazy to be reliable and I don't think our trap will like how she deals with random people.
Tell him about our reasons to kill her, btw.
>>
>>20097032

If anyone is still in the not braining this bitch camp please start drawing up a Geas from hell.
>>
>>20097032
Master, it is a possibility that the blood thing will render Astolfo unable to attack her. If you don't have a gun under you pillow I am going to be severely disappointed in you. When it strikes 12:01 have him to his thing but also draw the gun and put a full clip into her head.

the MOMENT we off her is the moment we ENSURE that Slim Jim comes in with intent to kill.
She needs us for survival, and by thus so does Slim.
we just need to figure out how to turn this to our advantage.
>>
She needs us between herself and... guys like us. Let's take advantage of that. If she thinks well of us, even only as an amusement or protector, it keeps Slim Jim running around somewhere else.

Astolfo won't approve, and we should make it clear to him that we have no intention of making this permanent, but we need to take the advantages we can.
>>
Master, she may be trying to be as sociable as she crazily can. Give her that.
>>
>>20097169

>Awaiting clever Geas from pro-psycho crowd

Where the fuck is our gun again?
>>
>>20097169
This. We can always off her later, but at the moment we are NOT equipped to deal with this shit. We need more info. Stay on your guard, though. She might try shit the moment the clock strikes midnight.
>>
She slips closer, a huge grin on her face as the clock ticks over, and her Command seal flickers off.
"Boo." she slides off me, pulling on clothes as I turn over. "You're easy to scare." she says, pulling on a long-sleeved shirt, gloves, and a scarf. She sits heavily and puts on socks. "He is scary. I know he is, to other people. But he's not... Mean." she frowns, trying to put it into words. "He's nothing. He seeks things that aren't nothing. And he makes them nothing. There's no... mah... muh..."

"Malice?"

"Malice." she agrees. "Just like me. I'm nothing. I like to make people nothing."

"Good lord, I thought you were going to kill me." I manage.

"I wouldn't dare." she says, sticking out her rather horrifying tongue. But her eyes narrow. "He won't come for you. I've made sure of that - well, he won't come for your Servant." she adds. "Listen."

I listen. In the distance, explosions.

"It's starting." she says as the building shakes slightly. "The great Grail."
>>
>>20097204
Oh god we're saved.
>>
>>20097204
Master, from now on you are going to sleep while cuddling the ever living fuck out of Astolfo. Do you understand?

Ask her if the defense mechanism against him involves her blood?
>>
>>20097204
We are alive.
Also, someone has a bright idea to use explosives.
We are not alone in it...
Well, fine.
We aren't going to kill crazy woman yet.
Just be on guard at all times.
Can you do geas?
>>
>>20097032
Shoot her in the head at 12:01. And have rider ready to jump in.

In the meantime, tell Rider your reasons so he doesn't get mad at ya. She's happy about some dude getting eaten, he'll understand.
>>
>>20097204
Ten bucks says her blood is what keeps Slim Jim away.
That said, keep her around for now. She may be crazier than a bag full of spanners, but He might be the best ally you can get right now. At least it means he's not AGAINST you.

Stabbing her in the back can come later. When our servant is with us and we're properly armed, for example. Doing it now is just stupid.
>>
>>20097032
>>20097204

Master, I don't think she wants to harm us, at least not this second.

I think she was trying to use sex to manipulate you. She's trying to seduce you because she thinks it will put you under her control. She already is "controlling" Astolfo by feeding him mana. And its entirely possible she has some magecraft that actually gives her tangible control through people she shares her fluids. She fed her blood to Slim and she fed her blood to Astolfo, and now she says he's safe and implied that you aren't. That spells magecraft to me.

I believe she was sincere in her desire that we keep her safe. I just think she wants to do that more certainly by having leverage over us as well as our promise of alliance.

Ask her is Astolfo is safe because he drank her blood. Ask if she's willing to protect you from her servant with Command Spells or if she expects you to drink from her as well.

"It's the blood?"

"The blood... Connects. Makes you like me to him. A little closer. A lot less... Something." she says. "Hard to describe. If everyone is a light to him, it makes you dimmer. If he sees what is hot, it makes you colder." I shudder.

"Can you... make him not attack me?"

"I can. It's just easier this way." she says quietly. "Nothing knows best. Nothing knows best."

I shudder a little at the implications.

"I'm gonna need a drink." I mutter. "How old are you?"

"I'm twenty one."

"Go buy me a drink."

She laughs, and she and Astolpho and I head out to buy drinks.

God, it's gonna be a longass War...

Fuck. Masta, you done royally fucked yoself. Worst case scenario, she has control over Astolfo. Best case, she has control over Astolfo. And she has mother fucking Skinny as her servant.

Wait. Could...could the horn even cause fear in Him? Astolfo did say it caused fear in ANYTHING. Even something which personifies the absence of all things is technically a thing...

Hmmm. You know, if he feeds off emotion and fear, maybe, just maybe, we can use it to induce fear in the bitch and have him feed on her. Sure, we run the risk of him going wild. We just need to be very, very far away when that happens.

Okay, how old is Luke? What are his magic capabilities, in full? What is his Origin? What is his Element?

It is Slim Jim right? If we kill her extremely fast will Slim Jim go after us? Can she control him outside of Seals and direct him at Masters?
>>
>>20097337
First off, what can Luke do with his circle magic?
Second, who went boom?

Luke is Twenty.

He's a scrawny-ass dude, very lanky and tall. Thin, too. Has problems with hunger, it just doesn't happen for him as often as it should. Thus, he looks pretty malnourished.

Origin is a spoiler. I can't really tell you that~

As for his Element, he's similar to Rin in that he's capable of pretty much everything. It just takes longer.

Rider is being worked on.

>>20097433

Hypothetically, couldn't we just erase all the stuff off the internet and just voip him like that?
>>
I'm guessing that whatever happened to David is a spoiler? If not, what happened to him? On that note, what's happened to Lisa, Abby, and David's friends?
>>
>>20097442
What happened to Little Bob or perhaps Roberta?
>>
>>20097493
>>20097496
>What happened to the previous generation

Eliza dun pissed off Altrouge. Got eaten by Primate Murder. Atalanta tried to fight back. Got eaten by Primate Murder. David's fate is currently unknown. His daughter's fate is currently unknown. Same with his granddaughter.
>>
>>20097529
Why didn't they summon Bob all this time? Why did they just leave us in the void? Why did they not let us become an Uncle? Did they at least try to bring us about in the past 60 years?
>>
>>20097566
Maybe they wanted to preserve us? We are, after all, a record of their deeds and the events of those times.
>>
>>20097566
They didn't need you. Bob is designed to fade in seven or so days. They can't really get around this restriction, and couldn't find a way. So they decided to treat it as a passed-away family pet, or similar, only summoning when absolutly necessary. PM came as a complete surprise, and David was ashamed and grief stricken.

You were sold.

And that was that.
>>
>>20097583
Maybe they coulda tried preserving us by giving us a body. It's the only thing we asked for in exchange for our service.
>>
>>20097598
feels bad man...
>>
>>20097598
Being Bob is suffering.

We serve them loyally, spend the spare moments of our life in conflict and war, get them laid and they SELL us.

Why are we even working for this guy? The only bit of amustment we've found so far is Astolpho. We should probably strike a deal with Luke, get something out of this.

So crazy-ladies crest is this right? Damn she's scary, well she *should* theoretically be protection against Baron Samedi provided someone else summoned him - so long as she doesn't make us GOD DAMN TWITCHY before then we might as well keep her around *that* long before we geek her, I'm not a fan of killing women but she might just need to die because her servant is something that SHOULD. NOT. BE.

That thing would give lovecraft nightmares.

>>20097688
We need to know how her magic works. I believe her when she says her blood keeps you safe from Slim Jim, but there may be other magic in there she's not telling us about. We should ask her about her magical skills in the next thread before we decide on that. Immunity from Slim Jim is a very good thing, but... yeah.
>>
>>20097529
With Eliza gone, how are the Einzberns doing regarding Heaven's Feel? They were buying notes on it off of her for some time. Did they get anywhere with recreating it from those?
>>
>>20097883
They're actually scared to.

Fucking Altrouge. What a bitch.
>>
>>20098387
If Luke does get his wish could he pull off getting a body for Bob?

Also would he be able to rip Altrouge's face off and bring back Eliza?
>>
>>20098497
Luke doesn't come across as the type who would do that though - he doesn't seem to give much of a damn about the Alexander family.

But on the subject of using the Grail, what *does* Luke want to use it for? Or was he one of those late random selections?
>>
>>20098802
His wish is to become an absurdly powerful Magus. He's got the skills, he's actually got all five elements, but his magic circuits are shit.

Why he wants this other than the obvious reason we don't know yet.

As for helping us we should probably get him to swear to it, maybe get a geas for this.
