You are currently in the marketplace, looking to trade some of your gambling loot that you won in Willie Constaice's game for food and ammo.

Get some food first, prime priority is to keep our buddies fed.

Food for pack animals and wrex, also check out the ammo selection. Also, FUCKING FLAMETHROWER WHERE?

You check out the ammunition selection. There's really nothing fancy, just some ammunition. No fancy ammo or anything, just plain old ammo for several kinds of guns. Revolver included

I think we finally equalized last round.

Trade one quarter for food, one for ammo, keep pack of cigs for later.

You trade a quarter for 12 bullets of ammunition, load 6 of them into your empty revolver, and then set the rest back onto your belt.

After an uneventful 3 or so hours, you arrive at New Scotsdale (op pic related). It's not deserted in the slightest, however, the streets are somewhat bustling, but not packed.

"Now, I'm sure you are wondering what I'm doing with this worm. I'm also sure you're wondering what a Phantasm is, and how I qualify as a professional one. Well, buddy, let me tell you the second first."

"A Phantasm, like me, is someone who can see into other realms of being, other dimensions. Each one sees something different, and me? I see into Hell itself. I'm not a normal assassin either, I work to put hellbound spirits to rest. And another neat trick Phantasms can do is this." Willie explains as he walks up to you.

He grabs your shoulder, his eyes bulge,,,

and,..

the world,...,

goes /red/.

>>

So Jullius was the little girl, is he John Constantine? >.>
>>
"Now this is an interesting phenomena that I've wished to share with you to settle a moral debate. If a robot can think, actually think like you apparently can and not operate on an algorithm, then they could possibly see the red. Then, they would qualify for being a living being." Willie says, still grabbing your shoulder. You notice several shapes on the rooftops.

"Don't worry, this isn't anything really overly supernatural. Phantasms started showing up after the robots died, so we assume its some sort of chip or modification that they put in the populace to give us this power. It's nothing too cool either, we just hallucinate everything, and I was just waxing neat metaphors. But we can pass them on. And if you can see the red... I wonder, what does that make you?"

(cont.)
>>
>>20019013
(unfortunately, I've never read either of the things in which they've came from, but i have heard the name of constantine before and it sounds familiar. It's coincidence, but a neat coincidence i suppose)
>>20019028
"Or perhaps it's not because you're a robot, but because there's someone in there with you. Is there, Alex? Is someone in your head with you, and is /he/ seeing the red?" Willie says, taking his hand off your shoulder. The world stays red.

"Yes." You reply bluntly. "And yes, I can see the red."

"Well it's probably the man inside of you, considering this is a hallucination. Medically proven so. But intriguing how he can transfer this hallucination to you, even while dead." Willie says, putting his hand to his chin.

"Indeed. Interesting indeed," Doc says, but to you.

"Now, I'm sure you're wondering, what is the purpose of this?" Willie asks. "Well, I want to join you on your quest to get rid of these vile worms. But I need to see that you're capable of doing so. Alex Murphy, I want you to fight me. Or at least, I want whatever is inside you that is piloting your body right now and experiencing this, I want it to fight me. Let him. It's 100% safe, this is a shared hallucination, you or he slash she won't get hurt. I swear on my own life."

>ACTION?

"The worms, from what knowledge I've gathered, were the last cry of the robots before they all suddenly shut down. They bioengineered a parasite based off of Toxoplasma whatever and put them into high-stress households, preferring to infect children with them. Over years, the children would grow increasingly violent, sociopathic, and psycopathic, and lead to murdering their parents and everyone around them. If they had children, which they usually did within a couple of years since the parasite increased libido, they were infected too. It was the last big problem we had to deal with after the robots shut down, and then about 5 years ago they began resurfacing but different. They infected children in general and turned them not just violent, but incredibly insane and incredibly powerful as well. Superhuman, almost. They regenerated from crippling wounds and they killed the shit out of everything. One of them took my daughter. That's when I dedicated my life to traveling the wastes and killing the shit out of everything infected with them." Willie says.

Most serial killers are, in fact, wormhosts, believe it or not. At least, in this day and age."
>>
>>20021633
"Yeah...I know. Had to take down a little girl. Even though she went batshit, she still went on about how she loved her parents and how proud they were of her. Crazy times."

>>20021927
"Well, if there's a wormhost, then my Phantasm will only be useful in going into mental combat with it, to try and shut down its insanity and give it a moment of lucidity before we end its existence. It won't help us detect wormhosts because a: they usually hide, and b: they can't hide among us. The behavior is too wild. We'd notice." Willie explains.
>>
"Hmmm then we should look amongst the sewers to start, or wait... they kill their families first typically so maybe that's where thier 'lair' would be maybe we should start by finding out whose's gone missing but NOT turned up dead.... unless this city is too big for that kind of tactic..."

"The city is easily big enough for that to be annoying but small enough for it to be viable." Willie says as you two walk to the local police headquarters.

As you discuss your plan, you talk inwardly to Father. "What do you think about this?" You ask.

"I don't really care, it just means that you have a purpose in life. This is what my experiments are leading up to, creating a synthetic life that can live it's own complete life. As long as you have something to do, I'm happy. As for your mission, I'd just stick with this Constaice fellow. He sounds trustworthy." Father says.

Willie grabs the girl by the shoulder and grabs you as well, saying "You should see this!"

The world shifts away and the red world replaces it. You see the girl for what she is in her mind, a festering corpse riddled with thousands of holes and cuts, each of those with a wriggling worm stuck inside of it. "Kill me... Please!" She cries.

"I'm trying," Willie says, erecting a cage to keep you away. There is a dark looking entity in the corner surrounded by red feathers, you assume that's part of the red world.

You watch as the mental battle rages on, with neither side taking a blow. Willie opens with the usual guillotine, while the girl just creates claws and slashes at him. The girl just continues slashing with the claws while Willie adapts like a dancer, a shield to block one attack, severing his own arm to allow another to go through, bobbing and weaving through a mass of sharpened tissue.

And then, he extends the guillotine around her chest, and pulls the string.

Hey, OP, drawfag from last night.
I took a little artistic liberty with his design because I wasn't aware the one you posted with the single eyecamera was what he was supposed to look like, but I think it's coming out pretty alright so far, almost close to done.
Just wanted to get your take on it and see what you thought?
>>
>>20024123
(I like it.
Just finish up the finishing touches and we're golden)
You examine the bones and such. It seems that the worm didn't project them, but instead instigated incredibly rapid growth. If you had just let her be, she would've died from her own metabolism within a couple of minutes. You take a shard of bone and analyze it.

.
.
.

It's quite as you predicted. The amount of telomerase in the cell was a lot less than it should be, indicating that the worm can force growth and regeneration under periods of extreme duress.

You and Willie start cleaning up the place. Rex nibbles on a finger, but you tell him not to and he goes back to not doing so. Willie says he'll get a bucket of water later to clean up the floor so this can be a proper looking base soon enough, or something.

Unless you don't want to do that any more.

>ACTION?

(shit check the house, my bad, i'll get to that)

You also check the house for possible hints on how the worm could get in. You go upstairs...

And are completely unprepared for the sight you witness. The walls, floor, and even the goddamn ceiling are covered in blood. The beds, however, all 5 of them, are completely and utterly spotless and white. Except one.

Theres a slight dampness to it, in a line.

You follow the line. There's a crack in the wall where it came from. About 5 feet above the bed.

You're somewhat confused.

>>
>>20024238

this could be an entry point.
>>
>>20024263
>>20024243
Willie comes up and is mildly surprised by the sight, judging by his raised eyebrow. You ask him and he says "Basically, whoever's there is there and if they die then you get it. Only buildings people really care about keeping certain people in are official shit like stores and stuff."

You look at the residue for a good minute before the scan figures out what it is...

It's basically the same as snail slime. Except slightly more adhesive. So it can stick to walls.

That explains that problem.

Willie has a jar in hand and the worm is already in it.

In size it's about a two floor apartment sized. The bottom floor has the kitchen/bathroom and, of course, the corpse pile. The upstairs is the bed thing and the communal clothing closet.

You start cleaning the place up. Willie got a bucket of water and a bunch of rags from somewhere (the kitchen probably) and begins wiping the bloodstains out of everything. You make the beds and the clothing pile shit a bit more orderly. You don't know how you can give a proper burial to them without looking mighty suspicious carrying a bunch of corpses.

"A trail, into the sewers? Intriguing." Willie says. Joshua says "Yeah, intriguing indeed. We've been having reports of clogged toilets more than usual, perhaps somma these worm things are coming in through the pipes?"

"Makes sense," Willie replies. "It provides a nice dank environment for the larvae to hatch and then gives easy access to hosts for them to advance to the next stage in life. Fortunately, I've never let a wormhost live long enough to see that next stage, but I believe that what happened today could be a slight inkling of what could happen."

"Well, the next lead would to be to go to another house that we've put on the map. These are where the missing person reports have been. And we've searched one, got one of our men missing too, and stopped searching the rest. That would be... this one." He says, pointing to the next closest mark on the map, close to the sewer and a couple of houses down. >>
>>20026539
>>20026537
You decide to go back to base and get to reading. So you do.

As you sit down and get ready to read, you tell Willie about your experience. He starts laughing hysterically, and says "I guess that's why they call her Crazy Jane, eh? I bet she wants to get into your servos, Alex. BAAahahahaha!" He grasps his knees and bends over in laughter again. "I jest, I jest. I'll let you read now."

>ACTION?
>>
>>20026593
How would that even work, I don't even have the right parts. She's planning on adding the right parts isn't she?

Open up the books, start reading, start with the easiest looking one and go through them. We don't need to sleep and we're a very fast learner and reader so we ought to be able to chew through these.
>>
>>20026581
"Don't bother with them. You're incompatible. Try not to think about them too much either, I don't want my creation going through puberty like a normal kid. That would be awkward, having to live through those thought processes." Doc says.

You agree tentatively.

>ACTION?
>>
>>20026593
*shrug*
"It's not all bad."

I believe a long night of reading is called for.
>>
Start with a beginner text to get a feel of what areas to learn more about.
>>
>>20026632
We WILL have a crazy robo-sexual waifu, OP, deal with it!

Anyways, read the books, proceed to investigate the worms.
>>
>>20026648
>>20026625
You begin reading through the books. It doesn't take you very long, a couple of hours maybe, to finish the entire stack. It's about midnight. You get up, feed Rex the rest of the beef jerky you have, and then decide to go into sleep mode to prepare and organize your thoughts for the next day.

>END ACT 1<
>>
>>20026632
You said you wanted me to learn, mature and do everything a sentient being does. I think romance is included in that. If it ends up happening I believe the term is "deal with it".
>>
And with that I am out for the night.

TY for making my first quest such a success guys, I really appreciate it.

Give me a second and I'll begin putting in stat sheets since i'm bored.

That's not really a thing just with alex. That's the reason she's called crazy jane, is because she gets a little attached to her machines, but not THAT closely. It's already part of her base scores (Charm: +, Bluff: -, Intimidate: --, Command: =). She's not really good at lying or intimidating, if you pay attention.
>>
>>20027033
Are there social skills aside from Charm, Bluff, Intimidate and Command? What is everyone's level at those?

She totally wants our servos.
>>
>>20027080
Nope, those are the basic ones.

Alex is baseline in everything.

Willie is Charm: +, Intimidate: =, Bluff: +, Command: -

Graves is Charm: --, Intimidate: +, Bluff: =, Command: ++

Cool beans; here's a different version of the first one, I think it'll be easier to read the title.

Anyways, I don't have any questions, just want to say that this quest is good, and you should feel good.
>>
rolled 79 = 79

>>20027203
honestly, i don't really have too many questions either. you did a great job of explaining it as you wrote.
>>
I have a little thing to say to you guys, besides thanks.

A: I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing. Literally 75% of the quest i've been writing by the seat of my ass.

I started with you wake up in a coffin and are a robot. Everything that happened from there was a result of maybe 30 seconds thought on what you were doing, and then 5 minutes thought on the setting once you found Doc. Every other part of the setting has pretty much been thought of as you came upon it.

And Phantasms?

I literally thought of what they were 5 minutes before part 4 started. I just wrote it on the card intending for it to be some sort of superpower and I never thought of it until it became relevant.

Originally Willie was supposed to /actually/ take you to hell, where he had reality warping powers and you would fistfight over a field of floating rocks in the sky, but then i was like "No, they'll never believe that."

In truth, I didn't think you'd really go along with the current implementation of the Phantasm. And then nobody at all questioned it, it was all okay. He can make you hallucinate. Cool beans.

Thanks again for making this so awesome /tg/.

You are good people.

>>20027380
We had just fought a 10 year old with a freaky ass death worm in her. The future has changed indeed.

Also we are going to seduce Jane with our robotic charm. Or she'll seduce us, we'll get to make bad jokes about her only repairing us so she can take advantage of us.
>>
>>20027266
Hey boss, drawfag here, gimme some time and keep an eye for your thread later if possible. I got caught up with some shit and I'm working on trying to finish now.
What Font is that, by the way? I can do a mockup with it after I finish.
>>
>>20027460
I used Stencil STD, for the top line. I used System for the bottom.

The robo seduction will happen. Alex Murphy, robot bounty hunter will make it happen.
