Let's play a game.

Dwarf: Forced to start in a mountainous region. Starts with iron tools, iron metallurgy tech, smithing tech, and brewing tech. Major penalty to magic, penalty to population.

Elves: Starts with mastery of one school of magic, starts with wooden bows. Major penalty to population.

Lizardmen: Start with wood working tech, starts with wooden spears, bonus to population, bonus to weapon&armor crafting. Cannot use magic, penalty to tech.

Humans: No bonuses or penalties.

Goblins: Major bonus to population, bonus to weapons&armor, starts with wooden spears and wooden bows. Cannot research tech, cannot use magic, carnivorous. Goblins gain technology by stealing enemies tech, smart goblins back engineer the tech so they can reproduce it.

Orcs: Bonus to population, bonus to weapons&armor. Penalty to tech, major penalty to magic, carnivorous.

Your Choice: Suggest an original race, the GM will state the penalties/bonuses for that race.

(Keep in mind you can change the affects of the races by adding a locational prefix, I.E Forest Goblins, Mountain Elves.)

>Lake Lizardmen will start with a basic farm.

Too long did the bestial Lizardmen toil away for their tyrannical high king, too long did they tolerate his mistreatment and abuse. No more. A group of 100 lizardmen broke off from the main clan after many hardships, in their hearts they wished that one day they could return and kill the high king and all of his associates, so that they might free their people. But the high king had too many solider, and they knew it was all but impossible to reach him ontop of his mighty coastal castle.

So they walked the path of freedom, through the seas of sand and past the dragon maw mountains. At the foot of the dragon maw mountains did they settle, near a huge lake that was fed by the rivers in the mountains. The lake connected to the ocean aswell, making the water constantly fresh.

The lizardmen worked hard to set up a settlement, a place for their people in the world free from corruption.

Make no mistake however, they were not a benevolent people, they were bestial and wild, nothing could change that. But now they were free to express their wild nature. The workers set up many wooden burrows for the town folk, and a good sized farm that was fed by the lake, there they grew purple fruits called plums, and brown lumpy things called potatos. They used these to supplement their hunting gains. But the journey was long, and winter was coming.

The wise lizards start digging the burrows deeper into the ground, it's difficult work without shovels, but the lizardmen seem to make good progress. Once dug the insides of the burrows are fitted with wood planks to make them more sanitary. From the outside the burrows look small when compared to a full grown lizardman, but once inside it becomes apparent that 90% of the space is underground. Here heat is preserved better, but there is a side effect. Occasionally leaks spring from the dirt and flood the burrows, presumably runoff from the lake. However this isn't too much of a problem.

>Sufficient Consensus

The lizardmen explore the local area, focusing their efforts at the rim of the lake and the foot of the mountains. They don't find much of importance, but just as they start to head back before winter kicks in they find a terrifying creature, a huge gray brute with two heads, the creature wielded a huge club and killed three of our finest warriors. The lizardmen flee'd before it killed them all. The lizardmen identify this creature as an Ogre, as they were quite a problem back in their homeland. This incident reminds them that they can never truly escape danger.

Winter has arrived in full force, trees shrivel up and the crops go into deep hibrenation. This is one of the worst winters the lizardmen have ever seen, back in their homeland the winters were cool, but here they were blistering cold. The lake froze and snow burried the burrows shut, and only the strongest lizardfolk could unbury them.

The lizards tired as their natural instincts told them to hibernate. They pressed on however, they had neglected to feast before the hibernation, and therefore were forced to will themselves awake for a feast. The lizard folk feasted heartily to avoid starvation during their long sleep. In addition the wise lizards commanded the construction of a weapon to counter the Ogre threat.

Through a burst of unwarranted ingenuity the sinew sling was born, dozens of woven strings of sinew combined to form a sling that could be used to throw small projectiles at high speeds. Of course it was tested much as the blizzard would kill the lizards if they were to leave their small burrows.

After the great feast they rested...

Three months passed.

The sun rised and the lizardmen awoke from their slumbers, revitalized and full of beastly energy. They emerged from their burrows and tended to the crops, they repaired the burrows and began to start hunting again. But a few of these lizard folk did not awake.

When their burrows were opened they found a grim sight, three of the burrows were flooded, the leaks from before must've kept a constant flow of water entering the burrow, and eventually the cold water killed the lizard folk inside. Five lizardmen died.

What was supposed to be a time of life and celebration turned to a time of mourning...

[B]

The lizardmen come to the conclusion that the reason their houses are being flooded is due to the bad quality of wood they were using. Since the lizardmen don't have tools they've been collecting branches and fashioning them via claws into something reasonably uniform. They try to improve the solidity of the inner walls but to no avail.

Meanwhile the lizardmen create blueprints for something the construction lizards call a 'stockade'. But without the proper tool they cannot cut down trees. Some of the lizard folk remember that their homeland used shark teeth for all of their tools, as they worked wonderously well. But alas, sharks could only be found near the ocean, so the lizardmen were on their own...

The lizard folk ponder their situation, but are interuppted by a 8ft tall ogre marching into the town. The ogre seems to be peaceful and simply wanders through, curiously watching the frightened lizard folk. But when a group of ten warriors try to defend the camp the ogre is provoked and starts attacking. The new slings prove useless against the tough skin of the ogre at first, but the constant rapid fire sends strong pain signals into it's brain and panics the beast. Two lizardmen die to the ogres hands, but they manage to slay the beast.

[E, Explore West]

The lizardmen explore their western flank. They notice that the dragon tail mountains are even bigger than the stories tell, they persist beyond the eye can see. The lands that the lizardmen inhabit are entirely opposite, their homeland was a dense swamp with rocky and steep mountains and watery ravines. In these lands it's hard to catch good game, the land is sparsely forested and the eleveation changes shallowly, fishing is by far the easiest game to catch.

The lizard folk find three caves that had escaped their search previously. The two closest to them connect deep into the earth, the third is far to the west and contains hard shiny things entrapped in the walls. The lizardmen tried to dig them out with their sharp claws but the stone was too tough. South west they find a lake much smaller than their own, it is surrounded by a huge forest.

[A1]
The lizardmen harvest the ogres meat and feast upon it. Within a few days five of the oldest lizard folk become sick with some sort of disease and die after literally sweating out all of their body fluids. The ogres diet must make their meat poisonous. Nonetheless, it's tough hide is gathered. The ogre hide is quite tough, and therefore reserved for a lizardman fit to wear it.

It comes to the towns attention that they donot yet have a leader, and decide it's high time that they choose a suitable and fair government system.
>>
>>19800848
that just about sums it up, either we go cave lizard or we start seeing what that lake has to offer.

[D]

The wise lizards think long and hard of how to create tools like that of their homeland. They send scouts to go collect chunks of rock from the caves, once they came back the wise lizards crafted primitive hammers and axes from the rocks. They strapped these rocks to refined branches with many strands of sinew. It wasn't efficient by any means, but it allowed them to cut trees and perhaps even mine.

[D1]
>Guessing you guy's wanted some fanatical religious lizard people, so here you go.

The wise lizards come to the conclusion that it is best for the God's to rule over them, as they themselves were too easily corrupted, as shown many times before in the lizardmen lineage. Their homeland didn't worship God's, so they were forced to create one.

The lizardmen imagines a great snake, large than the giants, larger than even the dragon tail mountains. This great snake lived in the deep oceans of this world. The God was named Kri'kla, lurker in the lizard kin language. Kri'kla was the God of Hunting, beasts, and instinct. But beyond that Kri'kla was an abstract concept, and as such Kri'kla was worshiped as an ideal rather than a deity. From this was born the priests of Kri'kla, only three were designated this honor. The most bestial of the lizardmen was the leader, his name was Pahualaxa, the other two were his brothers, both figuratively and literally. Their names were Huixhol and Zlatlan. Pahualaxa was given the ogre hide, and he wore it with great pride.

Using their new found tools the lizardmen create stone tipped weapons, which are inherently much more durable and deadly than wooden ones. The lizardmen are able to create stone tipped spears, stone hammers, and stone axes. After a few days of practicing with these weapons the lizardmen find that the heads of the weapons are too loose, making them hard to wield in combat. The lizardmen carve deep nooks into the refined branches, and then carve out new stones that slip into the nook, making them more sturdy. When combined with sinew the weapons become completely stable.

The long trek back to the cave is tiresome, but the lizardmen press on. Fifteen in all, they reach the mines in two days time. They take out their stone hammers and hit the shiny ores with all their might, the rock easily crumbles under the superior lizardman strength.

What is gathered is a shiny white ore of unknown properites. They bring it back to town for Pahualaxa to examine it. He cannot understand it's properties and simply tells the men to store it.

A few nights later there are reports of strange noises coming from outside during the night.

The high priests study the metal ore, it's cold to the touch and fairly heavy. They try to mold it and craft it, but to no avail. They try desperately to hammer it into shape, but it does not bend to their hammers will. In the end they give up for the time being.

The high priests delegate five armed soldiers to patrol the town, to find the source of the strange noises. Four of them find nothing, but the fifth is scared to death and reports that he saw a large green scaley creature running into the lake.

The high priests send a massive expidition (75 warriors) to the south-west forest/lake to gather food and hunt game. They make a simple camp there from branches and leaves. The warriors begin hunting game and gathering wild edibles.

Five more armed soldiers are sent to find the creature, which is now responsible for the food shortages. On one sunny afternoon one of the more clever lizards discovers that when heated, the shiny ore melts into a fine shiny liquid. The high priests praise this lizardman.
The lizard folk create stone molds and pour the molten metal into the molds. The result is very fine metal rods.

[C1]

It takes three nights of constant searching, but the lake creature seems to be wary of the guards presence. Finally the creature is discovered once again and pursued by eight warriors. They shout at the creature to stop, that they mean no harm, but the creature only screams wildly back. The creature proves to be too fast and once again escapes into the safety of the lake.

The expidition should return from the south-west forests in the next ten days.

The high priests demanded that the workers find a way to shape the iron metal into tools and weapons. So they did. The workers constructed a forge from which they would work the metal, it was a large hut comprised of cobblestone, mud filling the cracks so the rocks would stick together. In the middle lay a huge roaring fire, a hole leading up through the ceiling so the smoke could ventilate. The designated black smiths took their stone hammers and shaped the iron rods into usable items. These tools were much more efficient than stone ones.

The expedition group comes back bearing good news and bad news. The good news was that they managed to bring back tons of food, meat, berries, and wild edibles, even new seeds to intergrate into the farm. However this was shadowed by the grim news, during their endeavour they were attacked by small green creatures with pointed ears and sharp teeth. Goblins. Ten of their best warriors died to an ambush. The expedition leader assures the high priests that the goblins took many more losses than 10. No matter how bad the news is, it would seem that the expedition was a success.

[A1]

Tired of the lake monsters constant interference the high priests tell the warriors to make an ambush near the stock piles. They do so, and they catch the creature off guard surprisingly, the creature seems even more desperate than before to steal the food, it taks a few chunks of meet and tries to run away, but one of the lizardmen slings a rock into the creatures skull and knocks it unconcious. It's haulled away into one of the burrows where it's kept under watch by armed lizardmen.

Iron ores consist of oxygen and iron atoms bonded together into molecules. To convert it to metallic iron it must be smelted or sent through a direct reduction process to remove the oxygen. Oxygen-iron bonds are strong, and to remove the iron from the oxygen, a stronger elemental bond must be presented to attach to the oxygen. Carbon is used because the strength of a carbon-oxygen bond is greater than that of the iron-oxygen bond, at high temperatures. Thus, the iron ore must be powdered and mixed with coke, to be burnt in the smelting process.

However, it is not entirely as simple as that. Carbon monoxide is the primary ingredient of chemically stripping oxygen from iron. Thus, the iron and carbon smelting must be kept at an oxygen deficient (reducing) state to promote burning of carbon to produce CO not CO2.
>>
A1: Talk to it,. Try... basic words first like food.
C: Figure out how to make our spears and axes not so wobbly.
>>
The inclusion of even small amounts of some elements can have profound effects on the behavioral characteristics of a batch of iron or the operation of a smelter. These effects can be both good and bad, some catastrophically bad. Some chemicals are deliberately added such as flux which makes a blast furnace more efficient. Others are added because they make the iron more fluid, harder, or give it some other desirable quality. The choice of ore, fuel, and flux determine how the slag behaves and the operational characteristics of the iron produced. Ideally iron ore contains only iron and oxygen. In reality this is rarely the case. Typically, iron ore contains a host of elements which are often unwanted in modern steel.

The craft lizards quickly learn that they can create their tools and weapons out of pure metal by creating metal rods and then melting the tips/heads onto the pole. In addition a few lizardmen start experimenting with different types of tools.

On thing we gotta cover before we go anywhere near forging steel and that's Coke, not cocaine, not 'cola, but a by product of coal. Its a fuel that was used in locamotives, and to this day in a variety of industrial products.
>>
>>19802186
It did help actually.
>>
Volatile constituents of the coal—including water, coal-gas, and coal-tar—are driven off by baking in an airless furnace or oven at temperatures as high as 2,000 degrees Celsius (3632 degrees Fahrenheit) usually around 1000-1100 degrees Celsius though.(http://www.worldcoal.org/coal/uses-of-coal/coal-steel/) This fuses together the fixed carbon and residual ash. Most modern facilities have "by-product" coking ovens. Today, the volatile hydrocarbons are mainly used, after purification, in a separate combustion process to generate energy. Non by-product coking furnaces or coke furnaces (ovens) burn the hydrocarbon gases produced by the coke-making process to drive the carbonization process.
>>
Bituminous coal must meet a set of criteria for use as coking coal, determined by particular coal assay techniques. These include moisture content, ash content, sulfur content, volatile content, tar, and plasticity. This blending is targeted at producing a coke of appropriate strength (generally measured by coke strength after reaction (CSR), while losing an appropriate amount of mass. Other blending considerations include ensuring the coke doesn't swell too much during production and destroy the coke oven through excessive wall pressures.
>>

The idea is that the quest takes place on the American inspired world of Amerigo Secondus. You are a normal citezan going about your life.

Then the tau invade. Supported by Gue'vesa from the world of Krem'lin they take over the world. You wake up without arms or eyes in Micheal Wilson's camp apparently the tau nearly killed you. The Chirugeon leans over you and whisprers in your ear. He only has augmetic parts for soldiers. He can kill you, quickly, painlessly. Or you can fight and die for the emporer.

[B]

After many months of distractions, the workers finally finish what they originally set out to do. To flood-proof the burrows! The old and leaky branches are removed from the burrows and in their stead strong and solid wooden planks are placed, the high priests are certain this will flood proof their buildings.

The high priest Pahualaxa pieces together that this creature is in fact a mother, and was stealing food to feed her children...But why wouldn't she eat the fish from the lake? No matter, he gives the creature fresh meat and sends her off. The mother hurries back to the lake carrying the meat in her maw.

The wails stop.

Also we figured that Commisars have an unusually high death rate among Amerigan units, especially ones that like to shoot troops to inspire loyalty.

The only kind of neckbeard I despise is a weaboo, and that's because they are absolutely selfish and irrational when it comes to most things, they obsess over trying to fit their ridiculous anime cliches into everything they possibly can, usually destroying it beyond repair in the process. That being said, I do enjoy the occasional anime english dub.

Weeaboos are a pain in the ass but I won't let them stop me from enjoying stuff, like gurren lagaan for instance. I can't Stand Grimderp nerds myself. You know the guys who say everyone who has a system of morals is an asshole and aloser? I swear the worst thing SA every did was nmake it cool to be a jerk. However they did give us some lulz in return so I guess it balances out somehow. Lemme hunt down my amerigo stuff. This PS3 and non Highdef screen make it more difficult than you'd think.

I try not to let it out to anyone but close friends that I watch stuff like Outlaw Star and such, just so that I don't attract "that" kind of person. Grimderp has a special way of ruining everything. Everything has to die, and no one can think rationally, even with a gun to their head, because this is srs bsnss guise.

I prefer subs. Remember when Gurren Laggan came out? I DLed and watched every episode of season 1 in fan subs.

Shit was glorius. Then life got...uncooperative and I had to drop out of watching the second season.

The old blueprints for the stockade is finally put to use, the lizardmen start cutting down trees and sharpening the tops, eventually the entire town will be encased.
[Three turns until finished.]

[A1]

The high priests investigate the lake, searching for any reason our future waifu couldn't eat the local fish. After a few days the answer becomes obvious. A certain blue bellied fish has gone extinct. The blue bellied fishes were the largest in the lake, and therefore prized as good game, it may be possible that our future waifu could only eat this variety of fish.

Could all of this be the tribes doing? Could the fishermen have inadvertandly force the lake monster out of the lake?

ENTER EHEACTL, LEADER OF 50 LIZARDMAN ARMY

Eheactl had finally returned with a good supply of food, now he would face the caves dangers and uncover it's secrets. The lizardmen marched in a single file line down the stone bridge and into the spiral staircase. Would he go up, or down into the depths?

The soldiers march down the staircase into the deep dark depths. The journey down takes hours, but eventually they hit what seems to be the bottom. They march outside and take a good look around. A few stalgamites, but nothing all that special. The soldiers start to march straight forward, their foot steps echoing through the cave. Eventually they stumble upon a skeleton, probably not of lizardman origin, it's small and humanoid. They press on however.

However in the distance they begin to hear high pitched screams, like that of a bird. The flapping of wings could be heard, the flapping of wings grows louder and louder...What does Eheactl order his men to do?

BUM RUSH THE STAGE
>>
"Spears up soldiers, form up on me." Like a well oiled machine they get into formation, spears raised. The sound wings beating in the air fluxuates oddly, it becomed faint, then stronger, continuously. The men grow nervous, one of them mutters "Where is it.." Eheactl wonders if the creature is circling them. The beating of wings disappears, and Eheactl sighs with relief...And the from above swoops down a giant bat-like thing, it's huge wings dwarf even the biggest of the lizards, it's baboon-like face screams with bloodlust as it's clawed feet reach for one of the lizardmen. The creature is stabbed numerous times by the steel spears, but the giant creature is literally swooping down like a bat out of hell, it grabs one of the soldiers successfully and knocks over three others. "AHHH, KRI'KLA HELP ME!!" Can be heard off in the distance, the poor lizardmans screams grow fainter and fainter, and eventually disappear...Eheactl and his men are stunned. What do they do?

Eheactl plants his spear head into the ground and thinks long and hard. He speaks to the shaken soldiers, "Listen here, soldiers, we would ashame great Kri'kla if we simply ran. No, we must DOMINATE that...THING, we must kill it, take it's head, and then give it to the high priest as a hat!" The lizardmen seem a little more reassured at this point. The group start making their way towards the last known whereabouts of the bat abomination. In his mind Eheactl can hear faint whispers, but he puts it off as simple mind tricks....All seems to be well, the lizardmen keep running and are making good ground...But they begin to hear faint screaming, blood thirsty screaming in the distance... Fires light up in the far, far distance. Dozens of them...The group comes to a dead stop. And just when they think it couldn't get any worse...They hear the sound of wings beating. More than one...What does Eheactl do?

"HOLD YOUR POSITIONS, MY KIN, WE FALL BACK AFTER THESE ABOMINATIONS HAVE BEEN ANIHILATED. Form up on me!" The lizardmen form up a circle around Eheactl, "RAISE SPEARS!" The soldiers raise their spears into the sky at various angles. "HOLD TIGHT, MAKE SURE THESE WEAKLINGS DON'T GRAB ANY OF YOU!" They hold for thirty seconds, that's when the first abomination swooped down. The creature swooped down like that last, but this time the lizardmen were prepared. Their spears ripped into the bats flesh and caused it to crash into the rock, traveling at such high speeds that when it fell it smashed it's own face in. A few of the lizardmen stumbled back, and hadn't managed to regain their stability. It seemed like the 2nd bat was smarter than the first, it recognized this as weakness and swooped down onto the unstable lizards. It was stabbed three times, but the wounds were shallow. The real damage was done when one of the spears teared through it's left wing, effectively crippling it's flight. The beast managed to grab one of the lizards, but could only glide about fifteen feet before falling down. The lizardman struggled to free himself and eventually managed to break free of the bats grip. The bloodlusted lizardman scrambled ontop of the writhing beast and started stabbing it's face continuously.
>>
>>19803015
A few of the lizardmen longed to help him, but Eheactl discouraged them. After a few seconds the now prideful lizardman started running back to the group, the abomination laying dead on the ground. Thats when the third bat swooped down. It grabbed the vulnerable lizardman and literally threw him into the others. As a result the lizardman was impaled accidentally, and thirty of the fourty-nine lizardmen fell down. The creature quickly did a U turn and swooped down to grab a lizardman, which he successfully did. The select lizardman screaming as he was carried off to unknown places...But the creatures were gone nevertheless. Eheactl only had 48 men under his command now. "MOVE, THIS IS OUR CHANCE!" He yelled out. The warband started running off to what they believed was the staircase. The fires in the distance were all around the lizardmen, on all walls, they started moving down the sides of the walls, there were hundreds of fires, which meant even more enemies.

They kept running, non-stop.

Eheactl heard the voices clearly now, they weren't just his mind playing tricks, they were real!...But they weren't coherent, at least not until now...He heard a woman speak, it wasn't a lizardman, but she somehow knew the lizardman language, which was almost impossible as the lizardman tounge was extremely complex. Yet she spoke it flawlessly...

The voice spoke, "Eheactl...Your leadership skills impress even me, but it will do no good for you here...Your only hope is gone, the fires will corner you and envelop you....You must turn back, press on into the darkness, there you will find your north star..."

What does Eheactl do?

Eheactl stops dead in his tracks, the distant screams of whatever is holding the firest haunting the lizardmen. "What're you waiting for?! Let's get out of here!" One of the lizards shout. "No, we must turn back, they'll corner us here!" Eheactl orders, "Captain?! That's suicide!" The soldier replies, "TRUST ME!" With that Eheactl turns around and starts dashing, unable to understand the womans words, but for some reason trusting them. The rest of the soldiers reluctantly follow.

The fires grow nearer and nearer, and Eheactl is unsure whether his decision was a sound one...After several minutes of running the tired lizardmen find the entrance to some sort of altar room, the floor, ceiling, and walls are made of a shiny yellow metal. When they enter the huge altar room the ceremonial fires light up, showing a golden snake head. Below it on a pedastel lies a glowing blue sword, the craftmanship is amazing, the blade seems to eminate with a desire to be wielded...But it also seems to eminate a dark energy, one of hatred and malevolence...Bloodlust.

The growls and screams grow louder, "Eheactl! They'll be here any minute!!"...

Does he dare take the blade?

The soldiers follow these order. Eheactl takes a peek outside of the cave. And what he see's dumfounds him....Hundreds, no, thousands of eyesless, pasty white humanoids dressed in iron armor and wielding swords and axes. Eheactl reassured himself, that even if he were to die, he would at least please Kri'kla by spilling the enemies blood. "FOR THE HIGH PRIESTS! FOR KRI'KLA! FOR OUR KIN!!" Eheactl rushes forward into the fray, his brethren, knowing their doom, abandontheir spear wall and charge into the fray with their spears...But before the two forces clash, Eheactl and all 48 of his men are enveloped in blue light...When they regain their senses they are just infront of the main town...

What does Eheactl do?

The soldiers find themselves getting injured quite often due to their scarce armor. The lizardmen most often relied on their tough scales to shield them from damage, but in these hostile lands it wasn't enough, and quite frankly the tribe couldn't sustain these many injuries. The crafting lizards set out to create 'armor'.

There were many prototypes and iterations, but finally they had created a suitable suit of amor for their warriors. They wore flexible iron armor that hugged their scales, thick neckplates were worn to protect their fragile necks. Some iron-clad boots and gauntlets nearly completed the standard issue outfitt. In addition sometimes thick wooden plates would be used as hip guard or shoulder pads.

[A1]

In an attempt to lure the creature back into the town the high priests lay out some fresh fish infront of the lake with three warriors standing guard... The lake creature pops it's head out of the water for just a brief instant, and then disappears...It wasn't seen again that night.

Following the possession of the magic sword of Kri'kla the craft lizards made swords similar to that of the holy sword. They found that these, when combined with spears, allowed them to have quite abit of diversity.

Lizardmen are hard at work hauling metal from the mine, but it's quite far away and it'll be awhile until the next shipment arrives.

[A1]

The High Priests try to gain the creatures trust by placing meat out near the lake for the creature to take, which it does. They start moving the food closer and closer to town, it seems to be working for now, but some of the lizards aren't so sure about wasting food to chase some lake monster.

Many of the stone structures that the Lizardmen attempted to build required constant repair, like the smithy, as the mude wasn't a good cementing agent. Therefore the lizardmen started experimenting with certain substances to create a sufficient compound to use in the construction of stone structures. The lizardmen tried several mixtures but all failed, and because finding the right mixture was simply about trial and error there was no gurantee they would have anything usbale by the end of 10 days, which they didn't.

[A1]

Being as properous as they were the lizardmen decided to improve their dwellings, they created 2nd floors to their houses, this is where they stored most of their personal items, as they slept in the basement where it was warm, they created windows on 2nd floors aswell. By the lake they created a small fishery where the fishermen could fish and clean their kills in peace...

Last night the Lake Monster (now reffered to as Zlatitza by the general populace) communicated with the lizardmen via drawings. The creature is definatly intelligent, and was just extremely wary of the lizardmen, but the constant feedings seemed to sway her opinion. Zlatitza showed the high priests that ones similar to them settled at this lake once and hunted her kin to extinction, and that her two children and herself were the only ones alive. The evil lizardmen overfished the lake and left after it was drained. She describes that the blue bellied fishes, (she refers to them as 'good tasty fish') were scarce, and the other fishes (she reffered to them as 'bad bitter fish') made her and her children sick. And finally she tells them that when we came we almost destroyed what was left of the blue bellied fish. The high priests respond that in exchange for the mothers and her eventual childrens service as an ally she will be granted food on a regular basis, and her blue bellied fish will be spared.

[GAINED ALLY: LAKE MONSTER]

The 30-man group has arrived at the metal mines, they have set up a few small burrows and a small wooden spike barricade around the camp to ward off wild animals. Production is now alot faster thanks to the added safety for the miners.

The scouts arrive at the edge of the burning forest, and to their surprise they find many dead goblins and to their surprise...Humans, white skinned weaklings with odd tufts of hair on their head. The scouts report back to the high priests.

After many weeks of toiling with substances of the earth, the wise lizards fianlly creat a substance suitable for bonding stones together, a mixture of sand, mud, dirt, and a special black sludge that manifests at the floor of the lake (That Zlatitza showed us.) mixed together with water. When tested it performs extraordinarily well...Infact the mixture itself is a strong as the rock. Once cooled the mixture is a chalky black color and feels grainy to the touch, when combined with cobble stone it creates a very strong stone structure. But it has not been used yet.

It's high time the people choose a name for their town, and a name for their people, something to distinguish themselves from their ex-tyrannical leaders.

With the birth of this new method of building, it is intergrated into the buildings. The black mortar (as it's called now due to it's black color) is used to support the main four corners of the buildings. Each corner is replaced and filled with the black substance, this is done and repated until every house in town has been updated. The cobble stone smithy has been demolished and in it's place the black mortar smithy is created.

The town is named 'Seat of Kri'kla' after their esteemed deity.

They ditch the wooden burrows and create large black mortar houses that hug the mountain side. The outside part is merely a staircase, the rooms are carved into the very mountain itself. A small black mortar wall is made around the camp to ward off wild animals.

The high priest asks the lake monster if it would live in a dwelling in town with it's children, the creature, using drawings, tells them that her kind can only be above land for so long before dying. (Which was why she was dying when she was captured.)

The workers start digging a tunnel to the lake, they make it wide and comfortable, but digging by hand is hard and painful. Still they press on, and eventually mannage to create a decent sized cavern from which Zlatitza can raise her young. When contacted the creature accepts the proposition and moves into the cavern where the lizard folk can observe the children. The young lake creatures are like miniature versions of Zlatitza, and kinda' cute despite their somewhat monstorous appearance.

When asked to tell the high priests about the lake Zlatitza comments that there is a small island located at the center, and sometimes she likes to pet the furry bunnies that are there.
...
Scouts report a large army of goblin warriors approaching this direction, among them is many caravans of goods aswell as injured goblins and sick elderly, they appear to be heading for the lake, and by proxy, the main capital. They appear to be about 1000 warriors strong...At their current speed they should arrive in about a month.

Some of the lower levels of the mine are burried in dirt and sand, in order to remove it the lizardmen had to use their hands, until one day a lizardman was studying the properties of liquid in containers, he thought "Why can't I do the same with dirt and sand?
So he created something similar to a giant spoon, which he called a shovel. These proves invaluable tools during mining.

Seat of Kri'kla:

In preperation for the siege of their most holy city the lizardmen scrambled to erect a suitable defense. Rather than tearing down the stockade, they worked to encase it in black mortar, making both the stone wall stronger and keeping the stockade useful. They tried to create battlements aswell...As for the gate, they reinforced it with extra wood, until it was five feet of solid wood. These were the plans at least, it would take many a day for the final product to be finished.

[C1]

A party of one scouts and one of the priests, Zlatlan, made their way to the goblin army, they tried to communicate, but the goblins shot a hail of arrows before he could even speak...Both of them were killed. The high priest Pahualaxa is enraged by this, and decides that these goblins must be exterminated for the glory of Kri'kla.

Hauling ore back and forth is anything but efficient, not to mention that the road is dangerous for travelers. They tried many times to find new ways to haul the ore, but none of them were practical enough to permenently employ. One of the lizardmen tried to use the leathery skin of his kills as a sort of bag, but it didn't work out well as he couldn't seem to keep the ore from slipping out...But he was close to a breakthrough.

The wall has been finished early thanks to the lizardmens combined efforts. Battlements and all. Next they start creating bits of sharp metal that they will pour down onto the enemies if they rush the gate.

The high priest Pahualaxa outfitts the lake monster Zlatitza with iron armor, he always gave her two maces to use while in battle, she makes it clear that she is no warrior, but will fight if she must.

It's almost winter, and scouts report that the goblin army is dangerously close, and will probably arrive next turn...

If you want to make any final adjustments to the capitals defense, do them now, or forever hold your peace.

The warrios and miners inhabiting the mines leave for the capital to aid in the defense of the city.

Seat of Kri'kla:
[B]
The lizardmen hastily dig a deep hole around the outer wall of the town, they then fill it full of wooden spikes, hoping that the enemy might fall in and impale themselves.
....
Time passes...
The Goblin army approaches, they set their sights on the Seat of Kri'kla. When seen from afar, it appears as though these goblins were fleeing their homeland, they are carrying very little food in their caravans. But nonehteless, they seem to think that taking this town is their only chance at survival. The goblin army readies themselves, as do the Lizardmen inside the town. Eheactl sits ontop the black mortar wall, in his hands he holds the sacred sword of Kri'kla. In truth he had stolen the blade from the high priests home, for some reason he desired it, he wanted to touch it, feel it. The coolness of the handle soothed his soul, and the way the blade swun in the air singed to him like a siren...The voice spoke once more, "You are the true leader of these people, not the 'high priests', they only serve to babble about their God's. You take action. And today you can prove that you are the true leader, to me, to everyone...When the enemy surrounds you, speak these words and swing me, I will do the rest...' In reality, the blade held the womans voice. The sword told Eheactl the ethereal words, and he muttered them incoherently under his breath..."Yess.." He muttered, a smile curled across his face.
>>
The battle would begin any minute, the tensions were high as everyone knew much blood would be shed...The high priest and his brother stood behind the gate along with the armored lake monster and many of his faithful warriors. The rest were on the wall, bearing their wooden bows.

There could only be two endings to this. The total eradication of the Lizard folk, or the total defeat of the Goblins. Only one would survive to continue to write history...
