http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19599033/What a night. After defeating Tassadar and deciding not to immediately murder Khas like a cackling, pure evil monstrosity, we managed to convince Kerrigan to fly to Xenta and give us a hug. To celebrate, Artisanlord threw the biggest party the Swarm has ever known. We have pictures of Kerrigan hugging us, an aerial group photo of all our cerebrates together, and one or two embarrassing pictures of a tipsy Warbrate trying to join the limbo line. Now, everybody is recuperating and chuckling at the obscene things somebody drew on Toaster's bandages, and we wonder to ourselves what we should do next. The only things not fully infested are the Koprulu Terrans and Khas' loyalist Protoss.(Also, America. Fuck yeah.)
Also that TG task force, but they left, probably.
>>19741353We left a broadcasting station in case the 'unknown force' returned, right?Better break out our Diplomacy Zerg just in case.
>>19741353We watched them disappear. We're not sure what that was, or where it went.>>19741361Do we want to send somebody over there? The commsat hasn't been activated.
>>19741278Well, first we try to make some of them heavy carriers. Then 'm thinking we start a new line of battlecrusiers that have protoss reactors and a carrier bean cannon instead of the yamatto. Also, more of everything. Then we destroy the protoss military, revive the Overmind, and let lim finish off infesting the protoss. And the whole while wee keep a eye out for the reaming dark templar, who I assume are being lead by Zeratul. Also, since google tried to make an AI, you have to retcon VoidGate into liking silly cat videos.(And since you asked where I was last thread. I went to a house warming, and because I'm very bad about remembering things when my schedule is changes, I forgot about it.)
>>19741278And Raynor is giving Kerrigan a 'piggy-back ride'
>>19741381We should probably activate it.We don't know what this is, or if it'll be snooping around later, but we might as well try and get communications going with it. Displaying that we're intelligent and can be non violent is a good option for that.
>>19741396The party's over. Kerrigan's getting ready to leave. Should we give Raynor to her?>>19741402What? The commsat is ours. We left it there in case whoever burned a crater into the planet came back. If they have come back, they haven't activated our commsat.>>19741389(Well, you missed the big crossover. Bummer)We don't have any schematics for a heavy carrier like Khas'. It's probably something they developed just for him. We could have Labbrate or Cyberbrate work on developing something like it, if you like.
>>19741278And on side note, screw the other 49.5, there is only one America worth celebrating. Upstate New York, is best America.
>>19741477I thought we hadn't started any broadcasts on the commsat yet?
>>19741477>Should we give Raynor to her?Wrapped only with a pink ribbon
>>19741477Jimmy might like to see Earth. Maybe we should ask them.
>>19741477I think I'll manage, and yes, my plan was letting Labrate fisure it out.
>>19741500>>19741496This reminds me of something I, or someone else, suggested we do many a thread ago. Try to recreate what made super infested Raynor with our igegs. Not sure why we didn't just tell Nargil to do it, and then forget about it, instead of just forgetting about it.
>>19741486It's just a basic communications satellite for accessing Sector comms...which at this point are almost exclusively ZergTV.>>19741500"I didn't expect you to ask, Cerebrate...Yeah. I'd really like to go with her, if that's ok."
>>19741570Okay, I move to start broadcasting Zerg TV out there. The signal might interest them, at least, and lead them to investigate. If we can, have a cloaked observer in the system as well.
>>19741570Hand him off to Kerrigan, like a father marrying off his son, weeping and all that.
>>19741620Make sure we have some sort of elaborate ceremony, with DapperLord in Attendance to represent us.
>>19741570"Now remember Jimmy. You're kind of like a adopted son, and she's our sister, and technically also kind of an adopted daughter too, but the point is... I don't know something about family and ketchup, or was it mustard? Relish? Why am I think of condiments? Regardless, assume I will bring GREAT VENGEANCE UPON YE! if you break her heart. Capisce?"
>>19741620>>19741634>>19741644Kerrigan rolls her eyes as we tell Raynor about how horrible we'll make his life if he breaks her heart, and outright refuses to indulge us in a grand wedding ceremony. Oh, well. At least we got that hug. We'll never forget that hug. We got pictures of it, too. She can't deny that happened. The happy couple climbs aboard a dropship, which sets off for Umoja.>>19741511That's a d100 to see how it turns out.>>19741594We're just going to broadcast, whether they ask for it or not?The observer pops into the system and finds nothing out of the ordinary. Just an empty world with an inactive commsat and a crater that's now cooled off.Nargil would like to ask us a question.
rolled 5 = 5>>19741744BIG MONEY
rolled 65 = 65>>19741744He can ask, but we might not answer. Also, dice.
rolled 47 = 47>>19741744A question you say! If it's about reviving Father, I was thinking of starting that soon. If it isn't, or even if it it is, ask away.
rolled 59 = 59>>19741744Rolling.And why not answer his question?
>>19741744Since theres no wedding ceremony...Flash news on ZergTV: Kerrigan and Raynor have eloped to EARF
>>19741778>>19741791Labbrate, after working for about an hour, comes up with a fairly simple design for a heavy carrier. It should work about as well as the ship we saw Khas use. Aside from the extra firepower and armor, it's not too terribly much different. Much more expensive, though.>>19741791>>19741804>>19741809"Cerebrate, now that the Terrans, the machines, the parasites, and even most of the Protoss are dead or under our power, is it not time to revive Father? The Overmind is the true Master of the Swarm, and it is our duty as His Children to serve Him, even in death."Salem Saberhagen, Toaster, Gorn, and Internbrate all agree.
rolled 26 = 26>>19741744Here's to figuring it out.As for Nargil, let him ask away.
>>19741832No. You are bad for thinking that, We don't invade Kerri's private life, and that's mean. You're a bad synapse.
>>19741854Oh, very well. We can begin looking into methods, and seeing how it can be done. Considering how single-minded the Overmind could be, I just hope he doesn't end up overturning all of our gains.
>>19741832The Terrans are perplexed by our coverage of Kerrigan and Raynor. They are confused even more by the excited coverage of Kerrigan giving us a hug. They just don't seem to get it.
>>19741854Was the overmind being controlled in this verse? Its been so long.
>>19741854Alrighty, let's find some nice out-the-way world where we can dig a big hole and hide Father in it.Also, detector units, everywhere. Fucking Dark Templars. Like rats they are.
>>19741854To do that we need to take control of the protoss archive world, and they wont surrender it without a fight. We need to replenish our forces. The moment of our Father's rebirth approaches.(I support bringing pops back, even though I'm sure we'll screw it up and start a brood war in the process.)
Recap of the Overmind situationIt's just SC1 Overmind, none of this being controlled nonsense, all infest the protoess to achieve perfection all the time. And the protoss archive has this crystal that need a strong psionic imprint of a entity to revive them, like Khas, and we happen to still have a pile of psi-emitters that were tuned to the Overmind.
>>19741924No. I found that entire concept very frustrating. The Overmind in ZQ canon is his own...eye...monster...thing.>>19741954>>19741929So, we're going to agree to Nargil's request to work on reviving the Overmind?
>>19742010I say hold off for now but tell Nargil that we will give the matter serious consideration.Ask our own brates what they think and what Kerrigan thinks. Will we need the protoss' help with this or can this be an internal Zerg Affair?
>>19742010Yes, as much as I don't like the idea.
>>19742010Tell Nargil we'll work on planning it.Hopefully we can do this in a way that won't piss off Khas and end our Protoss Alliance, because we need to keep that up. Spiting Tassadar is more important right now than getting the Overmind back.
>>19742010I've been trying to steer the ship of quest that way since you said we had what we needed to bring him back, but things kept coming up. Is it a terrible idea, probably, will it bite us in the ass, probably, are we going to do it anyway, of course. All we have to do is break the Protoss' fleet and transport an emitter, simple really.
>>19742059Khas killed Tassadar last thread. Granted Zeratul is still running around, with maybe a hundred or so new dark templar.
>>19742099Once we do it, and the Overmind, in its foolishness, overturns all of our victories and progress, can we turn a bitter and spite-filled psionic gaze towards our Father, and tell him we wish he was dead, because he's the reason the Zerg have lost again?
>>19742125The main reason we're not eating the protoss is to piss on Tassadar's grave.
We should probably have Labrate and Interbrate do some research in that sector where the flash of light and those ships disapeared. Maybe we'll find out where they went and we could follow them.
>>19742041As mentioned, Toaster, Nargil, Gorn, Internbrate, and Salem Saberhagen all want us to revive Father. The others all seem to think it's more of our personal decision than theirs. When we mention the idea to Kerrigan, she is livid."NO! I will NOT have my consciousness subsumed again, Cerebrate! This is exactly what I was afraid of."Well...that's not the response we were hoping for.>>19742099I never said it NEEDED to go that way. I just said it was an option. This is just how I think the various characters would deal with the idea. All the ones urging us to do it are the Overmind's children, minus Kerrigan, who has made her stance clear over and over.
>>19742160I'm just going to tell you outright that MetaQuest OP and I agree that a flash of light is nowhere near enough to work out the whole crossover transpace thing.
>>19742161I gotta agree with Kerrigan. Look at what we've accomplished, once no longer shackled by the Overmind! We've beaten the Terrans, the Protoss, unlocked some of the secrets of the Xel'Naga, defeated the UED. No, Father had his chance, and he blew it. He let himself get killed because he lacked VISION and awareness. He can stay dead.
>>19742161It most definitely will bite us in the ass, because he'll very likely decide to take over and "CONSUME ALL PROTOSS" just like last time.>>19742181But . . . dimensional tearing and what-not! If they could figure out there was less "space" because of the heighliner, they might be able to figure out about new dimensions to consume. . . like the standard SC2 universe.
>>19742161Whisper to Kerri that we're not going to let it work, we'll either make the process fail, or kill what's made on the grounds of it being an abomination and not Father.Since you know, we're going to screw it up anyway. It either wont work, or it'll make a Kingston/Dyles hybrid villain abomination that we'll spend ten threads killing. And I have no problem with ensuring our own failure in order to prevent a brood war that's us, our brates, and Kerri vs NOT-dad and the old guard.
>>19742161Hmmm.One the one hand, not bringing back the Overmind might cause a Brood War.On the other, little sister. Can we get an overall list of who is for, who is against, and who doesn't have an opinion?
>>19742181Oh we'll know. The moment Tassadar returns from the dead, we'll know.
>>19742191I should start tallying votes, I suppose. No Overmind: 1Overmind: 0>>19742233Reviving Dad would be a yes or no roll, not a "maybe he's got Ricky Martin's soul" hijinks roll.>>19742198There's already a quest about jumping between continuities, and it has Starcraft characters in it, already. See if she'll go for it if she'll not be controlled again. This our chance to truly be vindicated; if the Overmind comes back and starts messing things up, then we can conclusively say that the old Overmind needs to be erased, for the good of the Swarm.
>>19742383>>19742434Wacky Waving Inflatable Tentacle Flailing Overmind!
Faking it could be a VERY, VERY BAD IDEA.What the fuck happens if the ones that WANT dad back learn that we faked it huh? Could cause a rift in the Swarm, what with them believing we used a Puppet Overmind to gain TOTAL control over them, with fully HALF of our current cerebrates joining the enemy team.Fucking do it or don't, don't try to fucking fake it.
>>19742466Faking it isn't "Fake Overmind." It's "Opps, raising him failed and destroyed the crystal"
>>19742479The danger is still there if they learn of it.
>>19742479I realize this. And it's a fucking bad idea
>>19742491Then we just brainpunch them until they stop being dicks.
>>19742435Don't fake overmind. Just don't attempt to remake him.
>>19742479Dude still has a point, it could severely fuck us over if even one Cerebrate learns of it.We aren't the most competent cerebrate either, we've gotten this far on our insanity. We aren't even comparable to the Overmind, we are just the stop-gap, the PROTOTYPE for a PROTO-Overmind so to speak.
>>19742449"You want to make me more powerful than the Overmind, psionically, so that I would be safe from it and from you? I...how risky would this be, exactly?"(Here's how risky: 1% chance of fatality. 9% chance of making her somewhat less powerful. 50% of just not working, but not hurting her in any way)

>>19742528Well that's reasonable. 10% chance of failure and a 50% chance of jack-all?That gives us a 40% chance of FUCK YEAH SUPER KERRIGAN. And I am in full support of this measure.
>>19742537Another vote for No Overmind, but not for power reasons, but because we don't fully understand how this whole thing will work, and we don't really want to risk breaking the few things we THINK have the power to resurrect Dear Old Dad by going in there with little to no knowledge.
>>19742528"Here's the chances, sis. "I don't like them myself. Even a 1% chance of losing you is too much, in my opinion."But it's your choice. And that's what it all boils down to, isn't it? Choice."

>>19742634That was before we took over the swarm, and made the galaxy wide empire we have now. And it wasn't so much that the overmind would kill us with mind bullets, as send the swarm to kill us. And aside from Toaster's nuke, which are being moved, the old guard don't really have broods of their own. Gorn and Warbrate share our army, but aside from what is basically administrative staff, the old guard don't have a drone to their names. And remember, we have emitters, and we er able to control Araq with one, so a juvenile overmind should be no problem.

>>19742796Nah, I figured you'd gnash your teeth a bit more about killing her.For me it'd be "Opps. Sorry guys. Summoned the God of Death by accident again"
>>19742761>>19742766Labbrate, Nargil, and Internbrate take Kerrigan to the most advanced bio-lab we have. They meticulously test her DNA, psionic emanations, and infestation effects before anything is done to her at all. Finally, they sedate her, and begin the procedure, modifying brain tissue and tweaking some of her genetics, as well as probing and encouraging psionically. After four hours of work, during which we are a complete mess of nerves, she comes to, her infested skin already knitting together the incisions without scar. After a brief period of rest and recovery, our Science Corps puts her through some basic psionic tests and, after comparing results, finds that the procedure was a success. Kerrigan's psionic abilities are far more powerful than they were before, and it is very likely that she will be too strong for the Overmind to control unless she consciously decides to submit to it.What a relief! We almost feel like WE were the one having surgery. Now, we must again ask ourselves whether we should revive the Overmind.
We...we should probably explain to dear Old Dad what perhaps the Xel'naga meant something a little bit different than simple infestation.
>>19742809No I'd just declare, "ALL HAIL RAYNOR, THE KING OF BLADES!" and swap Kerri for Kimmy, and sister for son.

>>19742967>>19742836Look at how mighty we have grown when traveling our own path. Though the Overmind was aiming for a pure Zerg/Protoss hybrid strain, he DID create Us and Kerrigan to be purposefully different than the rest of the Swarm. Perhaps he foresaw that his path was not the correct one, or that there was more than one way to victory. Without the UED or the Protoss, or even Kingston (after tricking him), defeating the new enemies that came along to threaten our very existence would have been a very difficult task. We learned from the Terrans and the Protoss, and that made us that much stronger. Yet, if they were infested, they may not have came up with the things that made us stronger and/or more effective than the original Swarm. We are capable of subterfuge and diplomacy, and nurturing as well as annihilating. We should not be afraid of trying new things and re-inventing the Swarm. It worked out well enough for some.Perhaps there is more than one route to achieving purity of essence than a Zerg-dominated universe. I'm leaning towards not reviving the Overmind, but I think we should at least let him hear us out, if it is possible to speak to him without reviving him.
>>19743105>>19743101>>19743099What could go wrong?Besides, Khas has been surprisingly cool to us in the past. Even if he freaks out, we're still the most powerful force in the galaxy (that we know of, at least).

>>19743180Ask him nicely.
>>19743209Build massive fleet, then ask nicely.
rolled 27 = 27>>19743180yes the crystal is of the xel'naga and with our fathers help we may even revive the gods the xel'naga them selves
>>19743217But we're trying not to prove Tassadar right!
>>19743180>>19743082Let us ask Khas if we can *speak* to the Overmind through the crystal or some other method. Remember, even though we stood with them against Tassadar, he is probably well aware of the danger we pose if we decide to go full infestation on them. His forces took some losses, but we suffered greatly in the battle against Tassadar.
>>19743248>>19743217Yeah! We're trying to prove Tassadar wrong to spite him for all eternity. When his ghost comes back see that he sacrificed everything and all of his followers for nothing and making peace with the Protoss, we can then make a perpetual-energy turbine from the spinning in his grave that will result.
>>19743251So, do we all agree to rebuild our forces at least?
>>19743185>>19743187>>19743209We open communications with Khas, and gently ask whether we can use the resurrection crystal on Zhakul."What use could you have for this artifact, Cerebrate?"In as diplomatic a tone as possible, we make our appeal to revive the One who gave us life, our murdered Father. Khas' eyes grow steely."You mean the creature who slaughtered many of my people, stole our homeworld from us, and whose blasphemous moon even now floats above our heads, a constant reminder of its crimes? No, Cerebrate. I cannot sanction this act. Even if I desired to do so, my people would never allow it, nor forgive it. I am sorry, Cerebrate, but I must refuse."
>>19743279That needs to be done regardless.
>>19743217Nah man.We gotta make Tassadar's death absolutely meaningless and make DAMN sure he is despised by everyone for all eternity.BY EVERYONE.Rebuilding our forces is a given, as we took a big hit in the fighting, but we will NOT mobilize them or speed-rebuild them like we are preparing for something.
>>19743279No. If he says no find some way to steal it.
>>19743270His ghost won't come back, he actually will.Metaquest players hijacked the entire fleet and co-opted the lot. He is actually, still alive.
>>19743295Fair enough, though he did Spawn forward US.Ask him if we can at least ATTEMPT to talk with our father through the crystal, if such a thing is impossible.
>>19743295"OK, now that we have that out of the way, Help me.Help me fake an attempt. I need to at least show that I tried."
>>19743306That just gives us MORE reason to spite his ass.How would he feel if he PERSONALLY lead a FUCK-TON of Warriors to forsaking the Khala and their own dishonorable deaths once he returns and see that the Protoss and Zerg have become the bestest of buds...or maybe came together in the CORRECT way to ascend as Xel'Naga?
>>19743295That's a very reasonable response.Ask him if there is at least a way to speak to him through the crystal. We must at least see if we can settle this matter with the Overmind; he was our creator, and without him we would not exist. It would bring us closure and peace of mind if we could at least know if he would approve or disapprove of the path that we are embarking upon.If he approves, great. If he doesn't, then we will just have to accept that.
rolled 57 = 57>>19743295much of him was knowledge knowledge of our selves of history vast. would it be possible to communicate with him thought the crystal and at least gain a memory of him?
>>19743295Oh, right the moon. I could move that if you want.
>>19743349(I'm going by SC 1 canon. If we wanted Xel'Naga, we'd just revive the Overmind and he could spawn some for us, since he ate their species)
>>19743295TECHNICALLY Khas the Moon is Our bad, at the time we still believed that the Unification of our species had to be done through Violence and War, and as to please our father we pulled out all the stops. We now know better, and if he desires we can remove the moon from the system entirely.
rolled 7 = 7>>19743382even better lets tell big K this he will totally love that
>>19743382But they would be flawed Xel'Naga, not true Xel'Naga, they lack the essence that the Protoss possess.
>>19743366>>19743335"I know of no way to speak to the dead, except to revive them.">>19743373Khas is surprised that we can do that, but agrees, under the condition that all of our forces are unarmed and that they will be monitored by the Protoss navy.
>>19743445Ask him as a favor, to us, that we will return when he asks, if he could perhaps...research the topic of talking to the dead through the crystal for us?
>>19743445Moon removal: Agreed. Send tons of overlords. Each shall have advertisements on their sides."WE MOVE ANYTHING."
>>19743445Of course. Agree to all of Khas' conditions concerning the Zerg Moon Removal Project unconditionally.
>>19743470use it as an add on zerg tv for the Terrans who wants to move there colony in style overlord air!
>>19743445We moved it with overlords before, so it's not an issue. Zergworld is coming home! And then we get to retrofit it for slipstream travel.
>>19743514>>19743470Our overlords are on their way already. We haven't looked upon Zerg World in ages. Of course, all of our structures on the moon have died, and our Creep has wilted away, but it's still ours. As we haul the celestial body away, Khas wonders at the feat.We got back our moon!Do we have anything more to say to Khas, about the Overmind or anything else?
>>19743550>Slipstream traveling DeathStarMoonOnly if we can combine 500 Of the Planet-Cracker lasers on the front end.
rolled 56 = 56>>19743555is there anything left of his body?
>>19743555Just reiterate to Khas that we simply had to ask; he was our Father. We hope he understands.
>>19743578The last time we visited Aiur, the Protoss had burned all of the corpses of the Zerg there. So, no.
>>19743555Say that we would greatly appreciate it if he looked into the whole "Speaking to the Dead Using the Crystal" thing for us, as we lack the necessary tomes and archives if such knowledge does indeed exist. Then? Then we install slip-stream drives on the moon, and we do as >>19743565 said and give it to what amounts to as a Star-Killer laser.
>>19743555ZERGWORLD REBORN... as a giant amusement park.Give it to Artisanlord and tell him to design the bestest best amusement world he can. Then park it in our human protectorate.
>>19743555Say? No. Take a subtle look around, yes. On second though, offer to our services as planetary movers. Call 1-888-MPLANET
>>19743594>>19743565>>19743550Labbrate estimates that to outfit and power Zerg World for slipstream travel would basically involve hollowing out the entire moon and using 95% of the internal space for the drive and power source.Accountantbrate rants about how much it will cost for such an unnecessary thing.
>>19743657Amusepark / Resort Colony plan is GO then.
rolled 69 = 69>>19743688also its a space ship
>>19743688>>19743724I assume that it's going to have a small sea somewhere inside of it for beach-side resorts?ZERG WORLD.THE PARADISE MOON.NOW HIRING: MOSTLY HUMAN STAFF!
>>19743688>>19743724>>19743749So it's basically going to our version of the Babylon 5 station but with beach-side resorts and 5-Star diners for each and every race that we care about to keep alive?Neat.
>>19743785>>19743749>>19743688>We'll have our own moon! With blackjack. And hookers. Is this a serious suggestion?
>>19743816Better Question.Do you WANT it to be a serious suggestion?
>>19743816If you include some of our overlords in protoss space doing a flyby, advertising ZERG WORLD! to the protoss, yes.
>>19743816What>>19743829Said.
>>19743829Meh. Of the silly things suggested this thread, I don't think this tops OH GOD I WAS SO WORRIED.I'm more interested in whether we plan to do something about Zhakul, or if we're going to tell Nargil and co. that we're giving up on Father.
>>19743860We're not giving up. We're looking for non-crystal based methods. We're also looking for our own crystal, and we'll put in on Zerg World next to the blackjack and hookers!
>>19743860How was that silly? She underwent life threatening surgery. Oh course big bro would be worried.
>>19743860Not giving up, just ensuring that the moment we bring him back doesn't involve a giant shit-storm with the protoss and vindicating Tassadar.Honestly it would just be fucking horrible if we took over the planet and resurrected Father, only to have him get vanquished in his (probably) weakened state while at the same time making Tassadar a Martyr for the Protoss to rally behind.
>>19743860We shall turn Zerg World into Babylon 5, our last, best hope for peace in this galaxy. And tell the old guard that we're going to have to look for either another crystal formation like Zhakul's or something else. We don't have the military power to take the planet by force and keep it long enough to be able to complete the ritual, AND ensure the survival of the Swarm against the might of the Protoss Empire. We're not going to throw away the Swarm for sentimentality.
>>19743953>We're not going to throw away the Swarm for sentimentality.Say this with an air of finality that would Father the Proudest and Most Smug Motherfucker of All Dimensions.
>>19743921>>19743902Is this how we're selling it to Nargil, then?(Also, before everybody starts drifting off to bed, is the 8th good for next session?)
>>19743965Yes, and works for me.
>>19743965Sundayish?
>>19743965Yes. Would Father honestly appreciate us bringing him back with him in a weakened state, and the entirety of the Protoss Empire's military might in orbit ready to kill him AGAIN?If he couldn't be killed, we wouldn't be having this conversation. As for the 8th, sure.
>>19743980>>19744015>>19744041The Cerebrates are clearly unhappy, but as long as we still intend to revive Overmind when it's possible, they won't cause trouble.(Alright. The 8th it is. Archive's ready. Unless we've got pressing business...?)http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19741278/
