We were about to storm the Covenant of the Order of Bloody Tears to extract our ally Magos Fram...

mhmm looking forward to it.

Oh by the way going to the Foolz archive and searching for User: 'Skargan' or Subject: 'Chapter', is a great way to see if there's a thread up.

Good to see you both. I am not sure for how long I will be here, but it would be nice to conlude this bussiness with sisters.

So, you are in orbit of Attero, with the full might of your Chapter behind your back, thinking about how to get out your hostage...
>>
>>19594288
I think we should go for a show of force with our chapter, and demand Fram be released, while 6 revenants, led by Geron, infiltrate the base and prepare to extract Fram should the Sisters refuse to obey our demands.

Thoughts?

>>

Cool.

Also, don't forget your name.
>>
>>19594308
I'd go with this.

Also, I'm pretty sure we'll have to kick some asses.
In 40k, you aren't a respectable force if you haven't massacred some sisters.
>>
Brethorius approaches you and gives you a slate with additional tactical information:

Covenant of the Order of the Bloody Tears:
Estimated enemy forces: 10 - 1000(?)
Combat notes:
-Zealous, will not surrender in battle
-Covenant has multiple outer AA and anti-infantry defences, but few visible anti-armour emplacements
-There is a high chance to infiltrate the facility using Revenants, but little chances to escape with hostage
-Status of hostage is unknown
>>
>>19594335

Whilst we should be prepared to defend ourselves, we don't wanna start a civil war with the Sisters.
>>
>>19594361
If the sisters are fully engaged at the front of the monastary, what are the chances of the revenants extracting the prisoner successfully?

Conversely, what are the chances of the revenants getting out without Fram, if he's released voluntarily?
>>
>>19594312
greetings to you too!

what exactly do you have in mind by a 'show of force'? Do you want to parade 600 marines in front of their monastery? Fire a cyclonic torpedoe on one of the major pilgrim cities? What message do you send them?

Roll d100 for persuasion/intimidation(depending on what you say)
>>
I agree whole heartedly with Luigi.
I've gotta bath my boy and put him to bed then I'll be free, don't explode into tentacles without me.
>>
Just caught up with the rest of the last thread.
I archived it last time, btw, I didn't think that oyu would show up and I had to go to sleep, so I wanted to make sure that it's archived.

I would rather go full stealth, but we already showed up in force, so we might as well go through with it.
So, send in the revenants and have them infiltrate.
Then, stroll up to their front gate and demand that the dude is relased.
If they refuse, have the team get him out of there while we keep a pretext of negotiation.

Ideally, we would keep them busy talking, the revenants would do their job and we would just leave pretending that we gave up.

By the time they realize that the dude has been released, we will be in our ships saying just as planned.
>>
Wait wait wait I have an idea to get Fram AND not fuck up our relationship with the ecclesiarchy.

What if we offer to aid them in a mission in exchange for the liberation of the magos?
>>
>>19594387
I think we should parade as many marines as we can muster, along with our Retribution Baneblade and our Predators (you said they had little Anti-Armor right?), and demand that they release Fram.

We should tell them that the Magos should be doing the Emperor's holy work, and every moment he is refused the ability to continue his work is blasphemy to the Emperor.

Any other ideas before I roll?
>>
>>19594395
I wanted to go full stealth but extracting Fram is REALLY frickin' hard.

Enemy Forces:
Canoness Amelia Engel
3 Penitent Engines
128 Sisters of Battle
14 Sisters Repentia
6 Sisters Celestian
8 Rhinos
---
There are 712 prisoners being held here, among them:
+prisoner no. 007 named 'Magos Heractus'
+prisoner no. 700 named 'Magos Fram'
+prisoner no. 230 named 'Astartes'
+prisoner no 604 named 'Philosopher of Silent Stars'
+prisoner no. 112 named 'Xeno Warlock'
>>
>>19594603
Free all prisoners we can. Especially that warlock. Obviously an Eldar. Also especially that one called Astartes.
>>
>>19594603
SHould we try to release others?

I reckon Heractus is a heretic, otherwise Geron would have mentioned him.
The 'Astartes' wouldn't be a CSM, otherwise it wouldn't be referred to as 'Astartes.

The Xeno....maybe an Eldar? At any rate it's not our problem, though it might be the 'bodyguard' we encountered 4 years ago.

"Philosopher of silent stars"? No idea....

You remember a few unfinished things, but that's about it.

Unfinished bussiness, quests and interesting facts:

+Eldar prophecy warned you that in 325.M41 your Chapter will face an apocalyptic invasion of your homeworld. That is in 4 years from now on.

+Wrath of Corax, the most valuable relic for your Chapter and all descendants of the Corax, was lost on Hades.

+You have not completed your plans to apprehend Dresos Kand, merchant who might have something to do with illegal trade in xeno artifacts.

+You are under influence of the Laughing God. If it is possible at all, it would probably be wise to try to repay your debt to him or at least to avoid his attention.

+Anterion had an 'accident'. You are still not sure whether it was your curse that was at work or someone within the Chapter.

+Anterion mentioned Silencius. Who the hell is he?
>>
>>19594768
So many loose ends....

I think right now we should do>>19594764
>>
>>19594764
Idea is good, but that would be a terribly lucky coincidence, now that they already know that you are here after a prisoner. Also you are quite sure that just 50 Sisters would be more than enough to put those prisoners back into their cells, given time, not speaking about Penitent Engines and other suppor that they have.
>>
>>19594800

True it would seem odd, but they don't have any hard evidence, provided we sneak away successfully.

Also the number of prisoners is what forces the Sisters to let us in to assist, allowing easier extraction.
>>
>>19594816
>>19594800

Oh wait you said "you are quite sure..."

I read it as "Are you quite sure...."

Whether they let us in or not it should make it easier for our revenants to extract Fram, right?
>>
Isn't there a procedure you have to go through to get declared a heretic?
Ask them on whose authority Fram was declared a heretic and how.

The best case scenario solution to this is getting the prisoners we are interested in released legally.

The worst case is going in, blowing the monastery to pieces and getting our targets and a bunch of our marines killed in the process.
>>
>>19594816
It would certainly give you 'casus belli' in official Imperial court(if the matter reaches it) for intervention in order to assist Sisters, but there is another question whether they will let you in. Ofcourse you can always simulate a prison break, kill all the sisters and report that it was done by the prisoners.
>>
>>19594838
It's tempting, but I'm still kinda "ehhhh..." on killing Bolter Bitches for the hell of it, I mean, what are we, Grey Knights?
>>
>>19594838

>>19594832
>Magos Fram is not yet declared a heretic officially, because it was impossible to detain him, he was hiding from our sight on Nestorius for years and local authorities were not cooperative. Now that he has been detained, he have questioned him and his confession proves that he is a heretic. Now it is only a matter of time until we get a proper court ruling. We are holding him under the reason of 'suspected heresy' at the moment.

You can try to use your knowledge of Imperial Law(non-existent) with an intelligence roll. Naturally whatever you say improves/decreases your chances. your Int is 39
>>
im here!
>>
>>19594889
From what I can gather here, they are just following orders and some asshole in the higher rankings of the church is using this place to get rid of people who cross him one way or the other.
There should also be legit prisoners in there(like that xeno warlock, as much as I want him out of there, he is a legitimate prisoner, since the Imperium is at war with most eldar, with Lyanden and a few other being notable exceptions)

This whole thing demands a thorough investigation.
>>
>>19594905

"I'm sure Magos Fram's 'confession', was merely a misunderstanding caused by his confused state, as you said, he has been hiding for years, presumably alone, he must have been clueless as how to react."
>>
>>19594905
Do we have anyone on the ship with the proper knowledge?
The chief navigator is a noble, right? He should be able to help us out here if he is around.

>yes, prison break makes extraction chance 75%
I'm not really fond of releasing all the prisoners. There are probably actual heretics in there and I do not want them running around.
Also, the sisters go through enough shit as it is, I don't want to give them more unless we really have to.
>>
>>19594949

How about we demand the right to represent him in court?
We have a librarian somewhere and we can hire a competent lawyer through our connections with the merchants or navy.

If we win this case, we can go on and demand more info on the rest of the prisoners here and possibly bust them out too.
The biggest problem here is how we would get that eldar.

I say we agree to wait, to lull them into a false sense of security, then in a day or two we send our stealths to infiltrate. We really need to know who had him proclaimed a heretic, why and if there is anything we can do about it first, then we can make a decision as to how to proceed with him.
If we just let him go and he leaves, we get in trouble for taking him - so, let's get him acquitted on a trial first.

>Revenants managed to get access only to one phrase about him - "Farseer Sun T'zhu, Wuxide Craftworld". He is being kept in an impenetrable cell and Sister forbid any contact with him.

Right now, I think that we should just tell the Wuxide craftworld where he is secretly, they have better infiltration units than us and we won't be anywhere nearby when they bust him out.

You have to participate in the gladiator tournament in Mormark in a month.

Do you send Magos Fram to Nestorius alone? if yes - with whom/what ships?

or do you take him with you to Mormark and deliver him later?

>"Farseer Sun T'zhu, Wuxide Craftworld"
well damn....

>You have no idea about his current whereabouts.
Can Brethorius do his own investigative work? Or do we have to do everything?

>Whom do you send and in which ship?
Prinium in an Escort, as a techmarine he would be best to rekindle our friendship with the AdMech, and negotiate for new equipment. After we've talked things over with Fram, of course...

>specific instruction will be needed for these actions. how are they supposed to get wealth? how/for what to train? recruits are being gathered automatically.
Send the other ships (except the Battle Barge) out to friendly systems to gain more recruits and potential monetary gains, meanwhile our oldfag money guy makes us money.

>You don't know where is Hades. You were taken there by Eldar.
We will need to get to an Administratum outpost and look up 'Hades'.

GMOTYAY

> get wealth by exploring territory is my vote
>>
>how are they supposed to get wealth?
Did we hire that old financial advisor with a gambling problem? I think that I laid out a plan as to how to make use of him in the last thread

>how/for what to train?
Not quite sure here... if we had a better idea as to WHAT is going to attack us in a few years, we would know what to prepare for, but as it is, I'm out of ideas.

i vote for the 29 yo

Magos Fram reports that he was captured by random thugs, that were most likely either bounty hunters or thugs, working for Ecclesiarchy. As you might have noticed, confessions are directed to Cardinal Astrobelus, leader of Ecclesiarchy in the Diocese of Sector Deus. He is the arch-enemy of Fabricator General Regon... They hoped, that declaring Fram a heretic would strike a blow to the Nestorian Adeptus Mechanicus

Well we should definitely focus training in defensive combat.

Hang on, don't the Imperial fists owe us for that power fist we recovered? Could we get some of there defensive expertise and/or equipment?
>>

>> get wealth by exploring territory is my vote
Yeah, I support this too.
I want to put Duke Glemont to work so we can get investment money while we wreck xenos' and traitors' shit and steal their stuff.

ok, my brain is fried, I don't want to make stupid mistakes, so I got to sleep. No game tommorow, but we can meet next week. Before you leave please decide on a couple of things, like

Your combat doctrine? How would you want to train your marines?

What are your plans for development of Varda(if any)?

What are your plans for financial development?

How are you planning to prepare for the invasion(next session begins in year 322.M41, so you have 3 years)?

What do you want to do next session?

your last posts will be taken as statements.

also please someone archive this, thank you.

oh, and I added him to your Chapter:
Duke Glemont - Treasurer

I will be around for half an hour until I get ready to sleep, so if you have any questions for data or stmh, you can ask

I think:
We should train for defensive combat, asking the Imperial Fists if they could loan us some tutors to assist us in this endeavour.

Financial-wise, we should send our fleet to explore other systems in order to find recruits and wealth, as well as our financial investor making us money as well.

As for the invasion, we should concentrate on making more marines, buffing up our monastary's defences, and getting more hardware from Regon (concentrating on Retribution class Baneblades and Predators).
>>

Huh...

I vote for:

Combat doctrine: I'd say to remain flexible, if we have to focus on something then I vote for defensive combat with some stealth thrown in.

Varda: No idea, I'll leave this to the others.

Financial development: Leave business to the duke, maybe explore in our spare time. Buff the fuck out of our fortress defenses and get more vehicles.

Next session: Dunno. What about the gladiatorial games?

This, get some training from them, we will need it for the invasion

>What are your plans for financial development?
Hire financial advisor, support his investments.
I vote for the oldfag.

>How are you planning to prepare for the invasion(next session begins in year 322.M41, so you have 3 years)?
It will probably come from space, so I want to buy as many orbital defensive platforms as possible, along with some extra warships.
As for ground defence - the imperial fists can teach us about that.

>What do you want to do next session?
I want to handle the trial and get the courts to release all the prisoners we are interested in taking from that prison.
Also, busting out that Sun Tzu. Somehow. Not sure about that.

yes, they are seriously in your debt, think well how do you want to use it.

Duke Glemont suggests a few investments in Tachion Primaris for the following year:
+100W investment in enterntainment industry for a year, there is a 85% chance to gain 115W out of this
+60W investment in ship industry, 20% chance to gain 200W
+30W investment in building public baths, 50% chance to gain 60W
+80W investment in importing food, 70% to gain
125W

initial investment is included in profits, if you lose - you lose everything
>>
>What about the gladiatorial games?
Oh, yeah, definiely agree here, it would be nice to do that next turn

Also, I suggest that we train a human army of our own. They may not be spess mehreensh, but there are less than a thousand of us and we can easily get a few milion young recruits from a hive world, brainwash, train and equip them.
After all, you can't stop an invasion of tyranids if they have more gaunts than you have bolt shells.
I'm not saying that our enemies will be tyranids, but... they could be tyranids.
>>
>+30W investment in building public baths, 50% chance to gain 60W
>+80W investment in importing food, 70% to gain

Voting for these two
>>
>>19595644
I vote for the last one.
>>
>>19595651
Also, I support the personal army plan.
