WE ARE BUTLER, 100% PURE DAPPER AND SWAG.
From days of long ago, from unchartered regions of the multiverse, comes a legend.
The legend of Swagtron:
Seducer of the Multiverse!
A mighty butler, loved by girls, feared by evil.

The short break over, you and the other 3 teams that have made it to the next round stand once again in the middle of the gym.

Yuki and her teammates will be facing Sousuke and Shirou.
Your team will be facing Perrinne's team.

Most of those eliminated have stayed behind to watch, and some of your classmates that weren't even in the tourney have also come.
Various Bureau personnel, those that had time to spare, have also come to the gym to watch the events unfold.

"Okay everyone, you've made it to the next round. Your friends and classmates will be watching you, so I suggest you all give them a show."
Mike says as he stands next to the Dude.
"You kids have fun and pull no punches." the Dude adds as the gym fades away as the simulated environment is materialized around you.

Hina is going to need to be in the air, and we need to put our Strikers on.
We should play defensive and support Erica and Hina by keeping enemy fighters off their tails.

Gai should take a saucer up an go up real high while no one is watching.
Then as they concentrate on Hayate, Erica, and Hina who they can see, Gai can come flying down out of fucking nowhere with a Rider Kick.
>>
>>19561278
So can Hina fly at will yes? Gai is at a disadvantage. Does he has some sort of vehicle?

You find yourselves in an huge green field, short grass like it was newly mowed under your feet.

A few kilometers away, you can barely make out 6 figures take to the air.
Erica brings out her gun and strikers.
Hina readies both of her swords.
Gai transforms into his second form, one that has the ranged capabilities he lacks in his default form.

You take out the custom strikers from Kraus' vault and materialize them around your legs, the control unit resting in your left arm.
As you inserted your badge into the control unit, Kraus now integrating himself with the strikers, you remember some of the other words Ursula told you.
"we've installed some weaponry into the hand unit, It now has 2 forward facing machine guns, and you could channel your majaik through it to fire a beam. I tried adding a barrier function but I didn't have enough time."

You turn to your team.
"Okay guys, we're up against six flight capable opponents, and there's no ground cover here whatsoever. The odds are stacked in their favor but we'll show them how it's really done. Keep safe. Keep mobile."

You take off, with Erica beside you.
Hina takes a moment to gather her thoughts and manifest her wings before she's also airborne.
You thought Gai would stick to the ground, but you notice the ring you gave him before, that Air-shelf ring.
He jumps up, and continues to keep himself aloft by jumping across platforms of solidified air.

"Let's do this." Erica telsl you as she revs Sasha up.

>Smoke screen
You pull out a cigar from your inner pocket.
The majaikal roll of tobacco lights itself as soon as you place it in your mouth, a thick cloud of smoke engulfing you and your team.
You continue puffing on it to increase the amount of cover.
'Everyone split up and pound on anything that moves. Gai, Hina, YOu take the ones with the robots. They seems a little slower, but the long reach of those things worry me that they can do melee.'
You mentillate your team your instructions
'Erica and I will go for the witches. We have the speed to keep up with them'
'Roger.' They answer you.

Gai jumps up and out of the smoke to prepare himself for ambush.
Hina flies on inside.

Erica and you flank to the left and listen for the distinct sound of the strikers units the witches are wearing.

You avoid her easily, but the electricity swirling around her body gives you a little shock.
She disappears again into the smoke.
You ready your own sword, the belt forming itself into a rapier.
She lunges at you through the smokescreen, her aim straight and true.
You parry her and try to keep moving.
'This smoke isnt really hiding you you know?' she tells you mentally.
'What?'
'I can find you by your body's electricity.' She says, 'this really isnt very sporting you know, fighting a blind opponent.'
'Really? are you sure I'm blind?'

Let's not forget that Perrinne was once in the freaking military. Giving away an advantage like that is not something she would do.

Also I have a bad feeling since we are distinctly not hearing Sasha.
>>
>>19562309
Huh. I think we need to pursue some kind of senses-augmenting potion. Good for seeing through smoke, hearing the motion of fabric, seeing invisible people's footprints, and augmenting sexual stimulation. Downsides would be overstimulation, like being blinded or deafened by a flash of light or a gunshot.

Anyway, stay in here. We're going to get cut to pieces if we leave. Toss up a clone to distract her and serve as a second pair of eyes and ears.
>>
Stay in the smoke.

If Perrine is mentilating us, then that means that there's still a link that we can use to see her. Have Kraus see if he can get a lock onto Perrine's device OR the electricity that she's pumping out. It'll be better than trying to fight her blindly in the smoke.

I agree to an extent about some being too rail-roady and keeping the player's actions too limited.
However, I believe that care should be taken when throwing the accusation of rail-roading around simply because the desired action did not have the expected effect.
Just because you chose an action, and expected a specific result, doesn't mean that such a result is guaranteed. Predictable failure, but the clues were ignored by the players, for example. In those situations, I don't think a QM, or a DM in any other setting, should be afraid to let the players fail.

I was thinking...I think we should give Ayumu, and the Witches, a heads-up about the Bluebeard scenario, just in case they get it.
Not giving them inside info, or anything like that, but telling them that in these simulations, they have to understand not to pull any punches. That sometimes, the criminals we're sent to bring back, dead or alive, can't be shown any mercy or hesitation.
>>
>>19562840
I think they already have that sort of idea.
Telling them to think before they rush in would be a good one. It got us much further along the Bluebeard scenario than expected and bad rolls and choosing to value Hina over civilians lost it for us

I agree. Overall, I think we made the right choices, even if we lost.
I think the Bluebeard Scenario is just the Bureau's version of the Kobayashi Maru Test. It's an impossible scenario (because the mission success parameters are to save ALL of the kids, and that's pretty much impossible when Caster can turn them into monsters with a thought), and is meant to take overconfident trainee's down a notch, teach trainees how to handle fear and failure, and show them the kinds of horrors that they might have to face in the field.

Personally, I think the Bureau should make the Bluebeard Scenario a mandatory training sim for all trainees.

You rush her but she was ready for the ambush.
She pulsl a shield out of nowhere and blocks the shots you and Erica unleash on her.
Gai tries to punch her from below, but she avoids it.
In her robot's other hand, a large gun is manifested.
She catches up to the still fleeing Hinagiku and blasts her in the back.
The burst of automatic fire takes out the sword wielder.

You try and move in to attack again.
As your shots hit her shield, she flies towards you and ejects some panels off the shield.
Under it was a mean looking spike.

She pulls back to shank you.

Your smaller, more agile strikers giving you the maneuverability you need to avoid her.

Gai turns his gun into a sword, Erica releases her missiles, you fire a beam through the hand-held control unit.

The Cassiopeia are meant to be pretty hardcore and stand up to a lot. The fact ours was nearly unworkable really just meant that it had been through hell and back prior to our getting it and us using it for short jaunts of time stop is not that big a deal

She steps up to you, stomps on your foot and bites your arm.

She pulls you with her towards the bleachers with her teeth.

VICTORY.
WAT DO OH MASTER BUTLERS?

Maybe a brief, playful talk about how teamkilling is bad?
>>
>>19564678
should have said, "Not sure, but it doesn't taste like getting shot at by your teammate."

ask Kraus to explain the swag radar bullshit earlier.
>>
>>19564678
Let her lead us towards a seat on the bleachers. Sit down with Erica in our lap, and let her continue biting the arm to work out her aggression while we pet her.

See how Sousuke, Shirou, and Yuki fared.
>>
>>19564678
See how the other match is going.

Throw Zuchinni a rolled-up flatbread.
Watch other interesting parties.

We can't complain about the TK or the bitey for this one
Sit down and pull her onto our lap. Say we might have to see what she tastes like later on

Ugh. That joke's old and played out.

Not really
It isn't really the time for it either though

You sit down on the bleachers and pull Erica into your lap.
She continues to gnaw on your arm like a dog with a bone, letting out soft growls every once in a while.

Up on the screen floating in the middle of the gym, the fight between Yuki's team and Shirou/Sousuke still rages.
Yuki has what to be a whole allied invasion force from the second world war with her, Shirou and Sousuke doing their best to fight off the flood of soldiers and tanks.
Yuki's remaining teammates, a short girl with an X shaped hairpins and one with blonde hair seem to be busy drawing something on their sketchpads.

The two finish at almost the same time and rip the pages off their pads.
From the paper spring out their drawings.
The brown haired girls drawing was an army of cavalry men, and they charge into the fray on stallions and muskets.
The blonde girl has drawn a fantastic looking giant robot bristling with guns and missiles.

As soon as their creations have joined the fray, they start drawing again.
Yuki pulls out another book from inside her mantle and starts to spawn dozens of large winged beasts spouting fire. Dragons.

Sousuke, who had half a dozen girls by his side, his whole bonta troop and a large black man, is still on the verge of having his position over-run.
Shirou is hacking and slashing his way through the cavalry charge, but he looks to be tiring.

"Hey Yunocchi! Why don't we combine our work?" The blonde one asks the one with the X's.
"okay!" she answers cheerfully

The two pull out a large piece of canvas out of nowhere and begin attackign it with paintbrushes.
Soon the image they had in mind is formed.
It's a fiery meteor.
They pull the canvas off it's frame and throw it into the air.
At the same moment, a huge burning fireball crashes into Sousuke and Shirou, takign them out.

"Well Fuck. Three of them are summoners, and powerful ones at that. We're gonna be in for a hard time next round." you tell Erica.
"mmmpgh." She nods as she continues to chew playfully on your arm.

I shudder to think what would happen if Yuki ever pulled out a copy of Dune.

Hidamaris now? I kind of want them to meet Madoka.

And mentioning Madoka reminds me that we haven't seen much of Sakura outside of the Loli Brigade recently.

Oh god, Paul Atreides is basically the Emprah in child form.

That and the obvious sandworms.

And we're iout of Time Stop.
This is going to be painful.

Don't forget the legions of Saudakar AND Fremen Fedaykin, working together.
>>
>>19564921
Yeah she has been a bit absent from proceedings
We have spent most our time split up into smaller groups, defusing situations or in extra curricular studies though so we will miss people sometimes

We should do another picnic for the loli brigade and one for Nanoha, Sakura and Madoka ( once they get back ). It would be nice

The two teams rematerialize in the Gym.
You see two other girls on Yuki's team, one of which you recognize as that girl with the large robotic arms you fought in that other exercise with the basics that you participated in.
The other, a girl with black hair and an oddly chipped katana in her hands.

"Okay kiddies, for the final match we're having Basics team-C against Advanced team-A.. You'll again be given thirty minutes to prepare for the next match." the Dude says from behind the table he and Mike were sitting at.
"We'll be adding some extra 'features' in the next round. So you guys best be prepared for anything." Mike adds.

"mmmpgh mmmpgh mmmpg." Erica says around your arm.
"Errr... I didnt quite catch that." you tell her.
'I said, I don't like that sound of that' She mentillates.

STR and Black Rock Shooter? I don't see them being as much of a problem as all the summoning going on.

I think we may need Ted. Did we get his lasers done yet?

You are Ayasaki Hayate, turned in to a girl.
And you're in the gym.

The noise is gone, everything is silent.
But you somehow can't pull yourself away from here.
Something inside tells you to wait.

Read as: traps and wandering monsters and boss fights.

Any ideas on preventing a Colony Drop by the Hidamari girls?
>>
>>19565001
Taking them out first. They have to physically draw whatever they want to summon, too. That takes time.
>>
>>19565001
Spam giant fucking lasers at them.

My god, you actually have to do work tomorrow?

Shock and disbelief!
>>
>>19565001
They (And Yuki) Are summoners, so probably have weak personal defences. Go invisible, calmly walk up behind them, knife them. Done and done.
>>
>>19565056
But we are butler, and this is the finals. We have to make the fight fun to watch. Meaning explosions and lasers and Rider Kicks and miniguns and shit.
>>
>>19564992
Nope no Dino armour yet, that was a weekend / evening plan with Ursula

So the next time we use the watch to freeze time we end up pulling her into our dimension then?

>Crazy Ivan is generally the best option whenever it comes up
I must disagree, if we want to actually get things done.

Crazy Ivan is the death of getting things done.
