Game will continue in about 10 minutes.Current situation:Ghost of Retribution just made their way into Sector Deus, however their meeting with Sector Governor Larion Ursus didn't go as smoothly as expected... However Chapter managed to acquire some starmaps that would help them to leave the Sector and an anonymous tip, that they can get more information from Navigators in Teutoburg system...
>>19361738Last session was not archived, but if you will need any info, you can always consult me.and so we begin... what do you do?
>>19361875send Goran/Garon/whoever that streetwise fellow to establish network on hive world, send emissary to forge world, our resident techmarine, send emissary to ice world with our stoic captain to establish contact and foothold
Current position of the Chapter fleet - fringes of the Tachion Primaris system, in the Core Worlds section of Sector Deus.
Have Geron set up scout intel on the ground, meanwhile, while we go to the sector Forgeworld, have our 1st company captain take the other ship and maybe a company or so and have him check out the ice planet/ get it ready to have a fortress built upon it.
>>19361912>Sir, I completely understand that my name is confusing for you, but I prefer so that you would call me by rank if you can't pronounce it correctly. I mean no disrespect by this, sir. What kind of spy network would you like me to establish? What would be it's exact purpose? You have just two ships capable of warp travel. Also please specify how many marines do you want to send with each emissary. Naturally, they can travel there using 'civilian' means like pilgrim ships, but it will take more time and cost wealth(unless you send them alone).
>>19361926Captain Brethorius:>How should I carry out your commands, my Lord? Should I negotiate with planetary Governor or just order him around? I will leave with 'Morbid' as soon as I can, sir.Meanwhile, 'Aspera Dominus' is getting ready to leave for Nestorium, Imperial Forge World.
Oh my Jesus. First time I return to TG in a few months and what do I see? The quest that made me enjoy quest threads. thank you based-Skargan.What session is this and did you restart the game? I don't recognize the names, either you started a new game or I forgot everything.
>>19361954have a squad or two of scouts from our Enforcer company to accompany Geron to the hive world. Give him instructions to find out the "going's on" with the hive world, and if possible the sector in general. Also, have him watch for potential new recruits, we're still only sitting at about 800 dudes.I would send maybe a squad or two of marines along with the Techmarine though.
>>19361985good to see you, Nigel. Unfortunately most of the old guard were gone, so we started again. This time we play for Ghost of Retribution, a chapter sent to Sector Deus about three centuries after the events of the first quest. It would be awesome if you would join us.
>>19361954"sergeant, i want you to take 10 chosen enforcer scout, dress up as civilian and do one thing and one thing only : establish network, now this might be confusing, ask around to see what is the word on the streets, raise up independent cell of civilians, be it scum or just regular citizen, they will act as our eyes and earsfind out why the governor and imperial navy is on the edge, bribe, threat, blackmail, sweet talk, loan sharking, i don't care, also find out most suitable recruit to fill up our ranks, we are 2 company short for a codex standard strengthyou get me there ? get in, dig deep, and act, now; take whatever necessary [wealth] for your mission, good luck and may retribution fall upon the wretched"
>>19361994What exactly is Enforcer company? I would appreciate if you would post more often on /tg/, because I can't keep track of the chat.Geron thinks that it will take him about half a year and 5+d20 wealth to establish a well-developed network of spies on Tachion Primaris. if you roll, he stays there for the remainder of his mission.
>>19362013This is some serious Alpha Legion shit, yo
>>19361982"give him our specialty, offer they can't refuse, in exchange of protection and order maintenance, we get to do whatever we can do with our chip on the line"
>>19362023tl;drwe have a mafia theme going on, so alpha legion style methods will be adopted
>>19362017It was mostly Winters idea. From my take on it, it was a second scout company or even actual marine company that was quite Alpha Legion esque to my understanding. Made up of quite a few veterens if I remember correctly.
rolled 14, 19, 11, 11, 12 = 67>>19362017basically its mafia, in space, with power knuckle and thunder fists, also power garrot, sawn off melta and snub nosed plasma gunthey would disperse among civilian, establish cells, gaining foothold and intel, possible recruitment for astartes scoutstat wise they are scout company, only they have specialize in civilian intel gathering, and crowd control, be it propaganda, organized crime, targeted killing and black ops>>19362023raven guard splinter chapter i prefer, we do shit subtly, like inflitrating baneblade with suppressed volcano cannon
Lst time around, we were about to have our diplomats check over the planet we are on and look for stuff to buy, right? So, ask for volunteers, assign one of them as a diplomat/trader and have him search through the local merchants, nobles and others for anything we are interested in buying. We want to buy ships, equipment and information.
>>19362089oh yeah this is the fifth action
But Astrates stand out, don't they?Shouldn't it be hard to meet with local cells and stuff without raising suspision?
>>19362120I wouldn't imagine so. Alpha Legion do it all the time, and they're pretty successful at it.
>>19362013>Commander, with these instructions my task will be a lot easier.>>19362030Brethorius doesn't seem to like the idea of threatening civilians much, but he is loyal to you as a dog.>Should alternatives to our offer involve strategical bombardment from the orbit, sir?>>19362072I assume that you understand that while undercover, they have no power armour and try to pass just like well built offworlders. But yes, such specialisation is possible and you will get better at it over time. So, establishing spy network will take 14+5=19 Wealth(I counted only the first d20, because it was 5+d20, not 5d20). Geron is working on his task. Finally, Synius, your Lord Navigator approaches you:>Warp is calm, Master. Should we depart?
>>19362120That will only work to our advantage.Already made cells/drug traders etc will want someone like an astartes backing them, we can add them to our family and protection, if they offer us intel
>>19362089I would suggest picking up ships from the forgeworld instead. We should at least try to gain military grade space ships. We don't exactly want to start a floatilla of ad hac space ships now do we?
>>19362085lol sorry for that sarge G
>>19362137>Should alternatives to our offer involve strategical bombardment from the orbit, sir? There will be no need for that brother.>Warp is calm, Master. Should we depart?Depart at once brother, may the Emperor guide our path
>>19362137No bombardments please Brother Brethorius
>>19362089Geron arranged for you to meet with one of the merchants, Dresius Kand. Trader agrees to take care of representing you for a small fee(5% per deal), but he promises you to get access to whatever is available on Tachion Primaris. Alternatively - you can send someone(atm you have no such specialist in your team, but it's always possible to improvise) to do inquiry check, you should roll d100 for that.
>>19362188i request for headcount good sir, who else do we have? since i dont take notes from previous session, sorry for that>>19362137brethorius, please hold position until further notice>we are discussing this OOC
>>19362120In the 41st millenium, population is very varied, especially on hive worlds. You have gene-enhanced gladiators, visitors from high-gravity worlds, common tall humans, so without power armour space marine can blend as long as no one is specifically searching for him. However doing this in worlds with more or less homogenic population would be a problem. Also, they will not be able to infiltrate aristocracy, etc. For that you will need to hire mortal specialists...>>19362175>Then they might refuse our offer, sir, But I will do my best.'Morbid' leaves for Mormark, icy world on the fringes of Core Worlds and at the same time 'Aspera Dominus' breaches the warp and sets course for Nestorius.Roll 2 d10, first one is for Morbid.
rolled 5 = 5I would say Anterion be our negotiator. Rolling for inquiry!
rolled 73 + 2 = 75>>19362230roll for fleet movement>>19362188i choose librarian for the merchant-stuff
>>19362215I post Chapter resume at the beginning of each session and update it as time goes.>>19361875
rolled 4 = 4rolling 1d10
rolled 10, 6 = 16>>19362230i think i rolled that incorrectly, roll again for fleet movement
>>19362255yes sorry im stupid
rolled 4 = 4>>19362259god damnit, i roll for the second fleet movement since brother isaac already rolled the 1st
>>19362241Before you leaving. Anterion mentioned impressive results... however you have left the system and you will have to finish the deal later.>>19362257>>19362249Warp was indeed calm and after a few days 'Aspera Dominus' approaches Nestorius. This Forge world seems to boast impressive technological achievements... It's orbit is filled with shipyards and defensive platforms, and just like Tachion Primaris, it seems that most of it's surface is covered in thousands of factories and plants... There is nothing green or natural about this planet, even the oceans are long gone and used as additional space for endless construction. Your arrival was barely noticed - probably because of the huge traffic through this system, so you get permission to approach the inner system without any problems. How do you proceed?
rolled 35 = 35>>19362328Negative. Mine was for the inquiry check if we didn't want to go with the Merchant Geron found.
>>19362270happens to everyone, i am here to answer your question.please roll d50 for strength of the intelligence network that is about to be established.
>>19362361we vox them and said"Greetings men of knowledge and endless machinations, we are the Ghosts of Retribution Chapter, and we would like an audience with you"if accepted, send our best techmarine and our forge master to greet, along with chapter master
rolled 7 = 7>>19362388rolling
rolled 16 = 16>>19362388Disregard my last roll. I'm a tard. Also, rolling strength of Intel!
rolled 37 = 37>>19362388dice gods give me strength!
my proposed next step :> be alliance with admech, if they need help we comply, without commiting too much to be angerously undermanned> set up monastery in forge worlds
>>19362395This. We will want to work very closely with them in the future, so introduce ourselves, let them know that we are setting up here and we are still trying to update the outdated information provided to us.We are also looking for equipment and ships to buy and we are looking for a fight.
>>19362421Thought we were having monastery on ice world not forge world?
>>19362439fffcuk yes it should be ice world
>>19362402disregard that roll, I left the d10 on by accident
we spent 19 w so farproposed 300 w spent on monastery, and 200 w to buy 2 more predators? so total spent will be 519, still has 481 wealthOP how much a personal upgrade cost? i want a honor guard of assault termies, like RG actually
rolled 22 = 22If possible, before we go down to the forgeworld, can I ask our Astropath to send a request to the Administorum for tithe records for this system? Have they been paid? And such like that.
>>19362491Accept his invitation, let's go meet them.
>>19362499Disregard that dice roll. I'm still a tard...
>>19362491>>19362499this and we go down, ask if we can help recovering artifacts, in exchange, we got custom made armory
Is it going to cost us a 100 wealth per predator? I would imagine we should be buying ships first at least.
>>19362519forgot to roleplay it"Ave Fabricator General Regon, I will personally meet you with my select brothers, it will be a glorious occasion"
>>19362532a ship will be good eh, so options will be :>honor guard of assault termies (like RG>additional predators>additional shipyour vote brothers?
>>additional shipI want to focus on ships right now, we only have two and we lack escorts.
>>19362558termies and ships needed, predators can wait for a while, if they are 100 each, im sure ships will be atleast 250
>>19362570actually if the concern is imperial navy that should be the most logical option, with more ships we can hold the navy at bay, get our mob ready down the hive, pincer strike the governor
Agreed on all accounts. More ships indeed.
>>19362498atm none of your troops have any real combat experience, so you have no veterans to form honour guard unit... but you can always establish terminator/assault marine/devastator squads, you would need to make a deal with forge world or some other supplier. getting some piece of armour just for yourself - that's a lot more simple.>>19362499Nerial asks you:>Should I request them from Administratum outpost here on Tachion Primaris, or you want me to contact Terra? Getting message to Terra might take years, depending on how the winds of the warp carry it.>>19362540roleplaying is not neccessary, but I like it and reward it, so suit yourself.
>>19362721Not too sure how far this goes, or even if it does for that matter. I'm going to say contact Terra directly. Even if it takes years. With that in mind, If possible I'd like to monitor the capital planet in the meantime, check to see if anybody comes to collect while we're waiting.
>>19362721i love roleplay though"we come with a purpose Fabricator General Regon, currently we are undermanned and undergunned; we would like to ask for your help on bolstering our chapter strength in any way you can, and of course, if you need a - well lets put it this way; extended and independent arms for your interests, we would happily obligedAnd if such means are unfavorable to you, we could always ask for your glorious machinery for conventional price, we are thingking of adding a ship and a squad of tactical dreadnought to our ranks">>19362782i propose tachion
>>19362721"We have been assigned to this sector only recently and we are still working on establishing a presence and getting a complete picture of what is going on and where. We have come here to introduce ourselves and acquire equipment and information we need to perform our duty. The information we were provided with from Terra was sadly outdated and sector command proved unreliable at best. We hope to establish a mutualy beneficient working relationship with you, however. We will, naturally, recompensate you for the equipment we require.">>19362721>Should I request them from Administratum outpost here on Tachion PrimarisTachion, we don't have the time to get it from Terra and the info may or may not be complete and reliable
>>19362782Also, to add on to that. Whether or not it's kind of a "obviously" type thing, but have telepathic message encrypted.
>>19362817>>19362814We don't know how far the govenors reach goes. If he's corrupt in the first place. I say we get a hold of Terra, find out what they know, then ask the local branch and compare data. If it doesn't line up with Terra, he's up to something. I'm just going off a hunch here guys. Could be nothing.
>>19362893so its terra then, i vote for terra, we will complete the pics with our men on the ground
>Message sent to Administratum on Tachion.
You know what? just ask both of them. We will get the data from the local sector command and work with them now and we can then cross reference that with the data from terra and the data from our informant networks
>>19362932I propose both Shadow escorts, and Destiny
>>19362932"have you any lead on these STC's for us? any small evidences or rumours"im asking OOC to othe rplayer now : what should we buy? i propose 1 virium class cruiser 'Destiny'
>>19362932We are going to need more info here, what is the difference between those ships? The heavy cruiser is too expensive for us, but the rest are not. Also, why does one of the shadows cost 80 and the other 82? What is the difference?
>>19362993cruiser will be needed for staying power, and escorts can be for smaller runs to other planets, meetings etc, without sending a huge portion of our fleet
>>19362993>>19362999>>19363003ok OP 1 Kentauros and 1 Destiny please, and ask about leads on termies STC like i roleplay above
I would suggest a "medium" class ship, and a bunch of escorts. It's awesome that they're being so helpful, now we just have to look into building our fortress and seeing how we can generate revenue.
>>19362849All the astropathic messages are being decrypted by default, but for higher than average defences I would suggest getting a specialist on encryption and communications security.>You sent identical message to Terra.
>>19363175Alright guys. This is awesome, but lets not get spending crazy. What do we need?
Here's a list:destiny - 180interimus - 82kentauros - 8023 assault marine armour - 69relic - 60torpedo - 50521 total
>>19363292agreed with all that
>>19363175>encrypted by default* dammit, please be grammar nazis on me, I would love to improve my english>>19362993>STC's are very rare, my friend... However we might have some leads on them. Usually we, who serve Machine God, prefer to work alone, but if time proves you to be worthy, we will share our knowledge. I'll discuss this with Machine Council at the next meeting.>>19362999Even though they belong to the same class, 'Interimus' has some additional frontal armour, because each ship is modified by the Magos who is building it.
>>19363292lets recap521 for shopping, 300 for monastery, 200 for saving, that left us with -21 wealth buddyi disagree
>>19363341The "i" at begining of last sentence should be capital.

>>19363443I'm ok with this.
>>19363341"very well my Fabricator General, I shall send you the purchase order soon, if Emperor wills it, we shall meet again, may retribution falls on those who deserved it"
OP may i ask what is the imperial navy's strength right now? i forgot from the previous thread
>>19363475>>19363443>Good words, marine, it is an honour to do bussiness with you. I really hope that we will meet again.>>19363360thanks, dear anon. So, goods have safely arrived and three new proud ships - Interimus, Kentauros and mighty Destiny, join the ranks of your fleet. What do you do now?
>>19363512In the Tachion Primaris system at the time of you visit there were 3 Cruisers, 1 Heavy Cruiser and some Escorts(between 2-8). Hpwever it would be foolish to assume that it's all the force Imperial Fleet can muster in this Sector.
>>19363518Start the 4nd Company training with the new Assault powered armour.Contact our 1st Company Captain and see how it's going over at the Iceworld. Then, if all goes well, go there. If it's not going well, go there ready for battle.
>>19363518"Nerial, any word from our expedition ship to the ice world? also Prinium, send a memo to Lord Fabricator for possible options on building fortess monastery in the ice world, try to contact Brethorius"
>>19363518Ask the mechs if they can share information about the sector to us. Starchart copies would be nice, but hearing about what the enemies of the imperium are doing would be just fine.Pirates, orks, traitors, random xenos, whatever, we need someplace to pick a fight, make ourselves useful and get our marines some field experience.
all 3 above sounds fine
>>19363567Prinium:>My Lord, Fabricator General Regon asked me to tell you, that Mechanicus would be more than happy to help you to establish your fortress. He suggests that he can send first teams of architects with us even right now, if we have already confirmed where we want to build it.Astropath Nerial:'Warp seems to be clear, commander, but there is no word from Captain Brethorius. Maybe he has nothing to report?'>>19363566Spirit of your marines is lifted greatly when they see new toys that you brought them... They sense that their Chapter just got a lot stronger.MORALE: HighPicture: Ghosts trying out the new Assault Power Armour. You may notice that colours were not yet changed yet.
>>19363574>I will ask my subordinates to prepare you a briefing on current situation. Regarding starcharts - I am afraid I can't help you much, because you already know the Imperial planets, but I am forbidden by laws of the Machine Council to give out any info on what we call 'zone of interest' - non-imperial worlds that might be somehow useful to us. And you haven't heard this from me.
>>19363642He would report that he would have nothing to report. He's a stickler for the rules that way, and that's what I like about him.> Fabricator General we are currently in the process of finding a place to begin construction, so we will send a craft to retrieve them when we have settled everything. We didn't hear from one of our commanders and are a bit worried, so we are off to investigate. We wouldn't wish to put your men in harms way if there turned out to be violence. At this point respectfully withdraw and prepare to jump to the Iceworld, all ships at the ready.
>>19363642"very well Prinium, for now you may help our brother get accustomed to their suits and new ships, once we have words from Ice World, we will contact Fabricator General, for now, maintain light contact with him if he has problems with raider or artifact he needs us to find""send reminder to Brethorius, Nerial, I am afraid for the worst, try to contact anterion, see what he has found in the merchant guild, give me an update also regarding administorum and send encrypted message to Geron for status update, oh one more thing, how is our Librarian doing? I need status update on him"we also inspect the 4th company to further bosst the morale, inspect the readiness of our new fleetswow they seems to have a lot of fun on that suits
Your fleet leaves Nestorius' system for Mormark, to meet up with Captain Brethorius. This time travel last a lot longer, but after a few months you finally arrive at your destination. As soon as you come into the system, 'Morbid' greets you. It seems because of delays in the warp, they just arrived and Brethorius came down to negotiate with Lord Regent Kerius of Mormark just two days ago. Locals seem to appreciate Astartes a lot, so there is a whole festival in their honour at the moment.picture: Mormark
Well, folks that's it for today, see you tommorow
>>19363779Fuck yeah. Can't wait for next game.
