Game will continue in about 10 minutes.

Current situation:

Ghost of Retribution just made their way into Sector Deus, however their meeting with Sector Governor Larion Ursus didn't go as smoothly as expected... However Chapter managed to acquire some starmaps that would help them to leave the Sector and an anonymous tip, that they can get more information from Navigators in Teutoburg system...

and so we begin... what do you do?

send Goran/Garon/whoever that streetwise fellow to establish network on hive world, send emissary to forge world, our resident techmarine, send emissary to ice world with our stoic captain to establish contact and foothold

Current position of the Chapter fleet - fringes of the Tachion Primaris system, in the Core Worlds section of Sector Deus.
>>
Have Geron set up scout intel on the ground, meanwhile, while we go to the sector Forgeworld, have our 1st company captain take the other ship and maybe a company or so and have him check out the ice planet/ get it ready to have a fortress built upon it.
>>
>>19361912
>Sir, I completely understand that my name is confusing for you, but I prefer so that you would call me by rank if you can't pronounce it correctly. I mean no disrespect by this, sir. What kind of spy network would you like me to establish? What would be it's exact purpose?

You have just two ships capable of warp travel. Also please specify how many marines do you want to send with each emissary. Naturally, they can travel there using 'civilian' means like pilgrim ships, but it will take more time and cost wealth(unless you send them alone).
>>
>>19361926
Captain Brethorius:
>How should I carry out your commands, my Lord? Should I negotiate with planetary Governor or just order him around? I will leave with 'Morbid' as soon as I can, sir.

Meanwhile, 'Aspera Dominus' is getting ready to leave for Nestorium, Imperial Forge World.
>>
Oh my Jesus. First time I return to TG in a few months and what do I see? The quest that made me enjoy quest threads. thank you based-Skargan.

What session is this and did you restart the game? I don't recognize the names, either you started a new game or I forgot everything.
>>
>>19361954
have a squad or two of scouts from our Enforcer company to accompany Geron to the hive world. Give him instructions to find out the "going's on" with the hive world, and if possible the sector in general. Also, have him watch for potential new recruits, we're still only sitting at about 800 dudes.

I would send maybe a squad or two of marines along with the Techmarine though.
>>
>>19361985
good to see you, Nigel. Unfortunately most of the old guard were gone, so we started again. This time we play for Ghost of Retribution, a chapter sent to Sector Deus about three centuries after the events of the first quest. It would be awesome if you would join us.
>>
>>19361954

"sergeant, i want you to take 10 chosen enforcer scout, dress up as civilian and do one thing and one thing only : establish network, now this might be confusing, ask around to see what is the word on the streets, raise up independent cell of civilians, be it scum or just regular citizen, they will act as our eyes and ears

find out why the governor and imperial navy is on the edge, bribe, threat, blackmail, sweet talk, loan sharking, i don't care, also find out most suitable recruit to fill up our ranks, we are 2 company short for a codex standard strength

you get me there ? get in, dig deep, and act, now; take whatever necessary [wealth] for your mission, good luck and may retribution fall upon the wretched"
>>
>>19361994
What exactly is Enforcer company? I would appreciate if you would post more often on /tg/, because I can't keep track of the chat.

Geron thinks that it will take him about half a year and 5+d20 wealth to establish a well-developed network of spies on Tachion Primaris. if you roll, he stays there for the remainder of his mission.
>>
>>19362013
This is some serious Alpha Legion shit, yo
>>
>>19361982

"give him our specialty, offer they can't refuse, in exchange of protection and order maintenance, we get to do whatever we can do with our chip on the line"
>>
>>19362023
tl;dr
we have a mafia theme going on, so alpha legion style methods will be adopted
>>
>>19362017
It was mostly Winters idea. From my take on it, it was a second scout company or even actual marine company that was quite Alpha Legion esque to my understanding. Made up of quite a few veterens if I remember correctly.
>>
rolled 14, 19, 11, 11, 12 = 67

>>19362017

basically its mafia, in space, with power knuckle and thunder fists, also power garrot, sawn off melta and snub nosed plasma gun

they would disperse among civilian, establish cells, gaining foothold and intel, possible recruitment for astartes scout

stat wise they are scout company, only they have specialize in civilian intel gathering, and crowd control, be it propaganda, organized crime, targeted killing and black ops

>>19362023

raven guard splinter chapter i prefer, we do shit subtly, like inflitrating baneblade with suppressed volcano cannon

Lst time around, we were about to have our diplomats check over the planet we are on and look for stuff to buy, right?

So, ask for volunteers, assign one of them as a diplomat/trader and have him search through the local merchants, nobles and others for anything we are interested in buying.

We want to buy ships, equipment and information.
>>
>>19362089

oh yeah this is the fifth action
>>
But Astrates stand out, don't they?
Shouldn't it be hard to meet with local cells and stuff without raising suspision?
>>
>>19362120
I wouldn't imagine so. Alpha Legion do it all the time, and they're pretty successful at it.
>>
>>19362013
>Commander, with these instructions my task will be a lot easier.

>>19362030
Brethorius doesn't seem to like the idea of threatening civilians much, but he is loyal to you as a dog.
>Should alternatives to our offer involve strategical bombardment from the orbit, sir?

>>19362072
I assume that you understand that while undercover, they have no power armour and try to pass just like well built offworlders. But yes, such specialisation is possible and you will get better at it over time.

So, establishing spy network will take 14+5=19 Wealth(I counted only the first d20, because it was 5+d20, not 5d20). Geron is working on his task.

Finally, Synius, your Lord Navigator approaches you:
>Warp is calm, Master. Should we depart?
>>
>>19362120
That will only work to our advantage.
Already made cells/drug traders etc will want someone like an astartes backing them, we can add them to our family and protection, if they offer us intel
>>
>>19362089
I would suggest picking up ships from the forgeworld instead. We should at least try to gain military grade space ships. We don't exactly want to start a floatilla of ad hac space ships now do we?
>>
>>19362085

lol sorry for that sarge G
>>
>>19362137

>Should alternatives to our offer involve strategical bombardment from the orbit, sir?

There will be no need for that brother.

>Warp is calm, Master. Should we depart?

Depart at once brother, may the Emperor guide our path
>>
>>19362137
No bombardments please Brother Brethorius
>>
>>19362089
Geron arranged for you to meet with one of the merchants, Dresius Kand. Trader agrees to take care of representing you for a small fee(5% per deal), but he promises you to get access to whatever is available on Tachion Primaris. Alternatively - you can send someone(atm you have no such specialist in your team, but it's always possible to improvise) to do inquiry check, you should roll d100 for that.
>>
>>19362188

i request for headcount good sir, who else do we have? since i dont take notes from previous session, sorry for that

>>19362137
brethorius, please hold position until further notice
>we are discussing this OOC
>>
>>19362120
In the 41st millenium, population is very varied, especially on hive worlds. You have gene-enhanced gladiators, visitors from high-gravity worlds, common tall humans, so without power armour space marine can blend as long as no one is specifically searching for him. However doing this in worlds with more or less homogenic population would be a problem. Also, they will not be able to infiltrate aristocracy, etc. For that you will need to hire mortal specialists...

>>19362175
>Then they might refuse our offer, sir, But I will do my best.
'Morbid' leaves for Mormark, icy world on the fringes of Core Worlds and at the same time 'Aspera Dominus' breaches the warp and sets course for Nestorius.

>>19362257

Warp was indeed calm and after a few days 'Aspera Dominus' approaches Nestorius. This Forge world seems to boast impressive technological achievements... It's orbit is filled with shipyards and defensive platforms, and just like Tachion Primaris, it seems that most of it's surface is covered in thousands of factories and plants... There is nothing green or natural about this planet, even the oceans are long gone and used as additional space for endless construction.

Your arrival was barely noticed - probably because of the huge traffic through this system, so you get permission to approach the inner system without any problems. How do you proceed?

> set up monastery in forge worlds

a ship will be good eh, so options will be :

>honor guard of assault termies (like RG
>additional predators

your vote brothers?

I want to focus on ships right now, we only have two and we lack escorts.
>>
>>19362558
termies and ships needed, predators can wait for a while, if they are 100 each, im sure ships will be atleast 250
>>
>>19362570

actually if the concern is imperial navy that should be the most logical option, with more ships we can hold the navy at bay, get our mob ready down the hive, pincer strike the governor

atm none of your troops have any real combat experience, so you have no veterans to form honour guard unit... but you can always establish terminator/assault marine/devastator squads, you would need to make a deal with forge world or some other supplier. getting some piece of armour just for yourself - that's a lot more simple.

>>19362499
Nerial asks you:
>Should I request them from Administratum outpost here on Tachion Primaris, or you want me to contact Terra? Getting message to Terra might take years, depending on how the winds of the warp carry it.

>>19362540
roleplaying is not neccessary, but I like it and reward it, so suit yourself.
>>
>>19362721
Not too sure how far this goes, or even if it does for that matter. I'm going to say contact Terra directly. Even if it takes years. With that in mind, If possible I'd like to monitor the capital planet in the meantime, check to see if anybody comes to collect while we're waiting.
>>
>>19362721

i love roleplay though

"we come with a purpose Fabricator General Regon, currently we are undermanned and undergunned; we would like to ask for your help on bolstering our chapter strength in any way you can, and of course, if you need a - well lets put it this way; extended and independent arms for your interests, we would happily obliged

And if such means are unfavorable to you, we could always ask for your glorious machinery for conventional price, we are thingking of adding a ship and a squad of tactical dreadnought to our ranks"

>>19362782

i propose tachion
>>
>>19362721
"We have been assigned to this sector only recently and we are still working on establishing a presence and getting a complete picture of what is going on and where. We have come here to introduce ourselves and acquire equipment and information we need to perform our duty. The information we were provided with from Terra was sadly outdated and sector command proved unreliable at best. We hope to establish a mutualy beneficient working relationship with you, however. We will, naturally, recompensate you for the equipment we require."

>>19362721
>Should I request them from Administratum outpost here on Tachion Primaris

Tachion, we don't have the time to get it from Terra and the info may or may not be complete and reliable
>>
>>19362782

We don't know how far the govenors reach goes. If he's corrupt in the first place. I say we get a hold of Terra, find out what they know, then ask the local branch and compare data. If it doesn't line up with Terra, he's up to something. I'm just going off a hunch here guys. Could be nothing.

We are going to need more info here, what is the difference between those ships? The heavy cruiser is too expensive for us, but the rest are not.

Also, why does one of the shadows cost 80 and the other 82? What is the difference?

In the Tachion Primaris system at the time of you visit there were 3 Cruisers, 1 Heavy Cruiser and some Escorts(between 2-8). Hpwever it would be foolish to assume that it's all the force Imperial Fleet can muster in this Sector.

Your fleet leaves Nestorius' system for Mormark, to meet up with Captain Brethorius. This time travel last a lot longer, but after a few months you finally arrive at your destination. As soon as you come into the system, 'Morbid' greets you. It seems because of delays in the warp, they just arrived and Brethorius came down to negotiate with Lord Regent Kerius of Mormark just two days ago. Locals seem to appreciate Astartes a lot, so there is a whole festival in their honour at the moment.
