You wake up to the sun, and you look around, forgetting for a moment where you had been before you slept.
You're on a large balcony, the floor and railings all plated with orichalum, several bedrolls on either side of you- Kiyara and your other friends had apparently slept here- but they're gone. You give Grayson a few scritches, and he presses his head against you. You sit up, and look out the balcony- Down below, you can see the orc crew and Kiyara still at work on Grubwort's boat, two large, sky blue crystals set into the prow and stern. You notice Lewin and Fellwind are helping, as well.
>>
>>19360923
See if we can find some breakfast.
>>
>>19360982
Good plan
>>
You reach into Grayson's pack, and take out a bit of dried fruit, munching on it. It's not a real breakfast, but you seem to have slept in today.

Settling into Grayson's side, you snuggle in and watch the crew work. Suddenly, they all start whooping and cheering. Kiyara raises her gauntlet, and tendrils of light burst from it, reaching into the ship. Slowly, ever so slowly, it lifts from the water, and levitates in the air for a moment. The cheering amplifies, and then she sets it down, and makes for the spire.
>>
>>19361009
Woo!
>>
>>19361009
Nice work. We should definitely clap.
>>
You clap along with the rest of the group, although you're probably much too high for them to see or hear you.
"Lady Ishelda." Kiyara asks, walking through the low doorway out onto the balcony. "It's done." She said. "All we need is you to use your magic with the power source, and then. . we can test it for *real*." She said.
>>
>>19361121
"I'd love to help, but could you be so kind and show me where I can get a proper breakfast or luncheon around here?"
>>
rolled 63 = 63

>>19361121
Fire up those magic crystals, cuz Ishelda's coming.
>>
>>19361121
"Very impressive work."
>>
rolled 17 = 17

here it goes
>>
>>19361160
>>19361171
I don't think we need to roll quite yet. We're still at the top of the tower and nowhere near the crystals.
>>
"Very impressive work." you say, firing up the three violet crystals, as you follow her down the steps of the spire.
"Good morning, Lady." Lewin said. "We were going to wake you up, but..."
Fellwind nudges him in the gut. "Let's get to work, shall we?" Fellwind says, and Kiyara leads you to a large crystal, nearly Grayson's size, in the bottom of the ship. You put your hands on it, and close your eyes, relaying power from the crystals in your hand.

Torrents of power shoot through your body, wracking your spine and speeding up your heart. Two of the small crystals shatter immediately, but the third stays intact, and you force the power into the large crystal. The crystal pulses, and small tendrils of violet energy reaches into it, before another pulse of energy knocks you and Kiyara off of your feet.

The elf woman pushed herself up, and examined the crystal. "It worked!" She said. "You did it!"
Your muscles ache, but not nearly as much as you thought they would.
>>
rolled 51 = 51

>>19361230
That wasn't nearly as horrible as I was expecting. I'm guessing it was a close call...
>>
>>19361247
I'm still confused as to what we actually did. It seemed like a straight power transfer but I thought the whole point of this ship over her Father's ship was that it could charge power from the Weave.
>>
>>19361310
>Something about the way Ishelda transfers power to these crystals changes them; specializes them toward transferring and containing energy.

"Now. . We test!" Kiyara said. "But I'll need to go talk to the crafters, so that they know we're doing something. Otherwise they'll send all sorts of keepers after us."
She turned, and ran off of the boat, toward the prism.
"Lady, are you okay?" Grubwort asked. "The entire ship shook- I thought we would fall apart."
The crew look mildly suprised, and Lewin is on the ground, probably had fallen over. Grayson, meanwhile, doesn't seem to care.
>>
>>19361346
"I am a bit winded, but fine, thank you."
>>
>>19361346
>specializes them toward transferring and containing energy
Isn't that what they were for in the first place? I read the 'changing enchantment' bit last thread as just how the things worked. So we're sort of enchanting them to be more efficient or something?
>>
"I am a bit winded, but I'm fine, thank you." You say, pulling yourself to your feet and going above deck.
"Come to think of it. . " Lewin said. "Does this ship even have a name? Isn't it bad luck for a ship not to have a name?"
"That's a human tradition." Grubwort said. "This ship has no name."

Soon enough, Kiyara returned. "Now we can try to draw from the weave." She says. "They're feeding a ton of spare energy into the weave for us. Had to call in a favor, though."
>>
>>19361449
"Is she not your friend?"
>>
I'm just putting this out there, at some point we need to have tea with the elven King and Queen, or equivalent rulers.
>>
>>19361483
Let's have a tea party with all the rulers!
>>
>>19361482
To Grubwort, regarding ship
>>
"Is she not your friend?" You ask.
"What, the ship? Well. . yeah, I'd say she is. But by orcish custom, we name ourselves. And I've yet to hear her do anything but creak. Unless that's her name. Creeeeak." Grubwort said, chuckling.
"At some point," You say to yourself. "I need to have tea with the elven rulers."
"What, with the entire council?" Kiyara asked. "If you can get all twenty four of them together, good luck. Anyway, everyone on. Let's see if it can hold our weight."

The crew and your companions all pile onto the ship, and Kiyara puts her gauntleted palm on the ship's wheel, where a small crystal lay in the hub, and the ship started shuddering and shaking, lifting from the water.
>>
rolled 96 = 96

>>19361584
Yay! Check the flows of magic and shit to see if it's all working right. In fact if we could make the magic all visible and glowy that might be cool. Then Kiyara would be able to check it and she probably knows a lot more about how it's meant to work.
>>
>>19361625
MAGIC LASER LIGHT SHOW!
>>
You close your eyes, and feel for the magic, as it swirls through small orchalum cables set into the inside of the ship. You bring it into visibility, and you hear the orcs gasp- undoubtedly, it worked.
"Ha-ha!" Kiyara says. "It's working! And even if one of these levitation crystals shattered, the other ones would be easily able to pick up the slack."

>Creeeak the Airship acquired!
>>
>>19361660
Weeeeeell, now that that is finished, I suppose we should go to the southern Prism? We should probably use that time to get to know the crew and Kiyara better.
>>
>>19361660
"Anybody you want to stop and rub their nose in it before we leave for the southern prism?
>>
"Well, now that this is finished. . Anybody you want to stop and rub their nose in it before we leave for the southern Prism?" You ask.
"No, I think I'll be able to rub their noses in it just by flying." Kiyara said, and spun the ship's wheel. The airship twisted through the air, and then elevated to the same level as the rest of the airships, and set off along the weave.

You can sense a massive, powerful beam of energy coming from the prism behind you, bathing the entire ship in magic. This must be how airships work- they simply use the energy they're bathed with to fly.
"I am wholly unprepared for this." One of the nearby orcs said, sitting down, in a deadpan voice. "I am not used to flying above the clouds like this. Maybe if I squint and pretend the clouds is the sea. . ."
>>
>>19361884
"Were you not seasick when you first started sailing? You're not going to get airsick now, are you?"
>>
"Were you not seasick when you first started sailing?"
"No, I was never seasick." The orc said. "However, I am very uncomfortable with heights."
"Don't worry." Grubwort said. "If you fall, you won't have to worry about being so high up anymore." He said, chuckling. The orc just sighed.
>>
>>19362009
Time to invent magic parachutes. Didn't Kiyara say the elves can store spells in those bracelets?

We should probably get some with "slow fall" or "flight" made for everybody on the ship.
>>
>>19362009
"Just, speaking logically. If you fall off you should try to enjoy it, until a quick and painless death greets you."
>>
>>19362052
That just sounds mean. More like something Grubwort would say if he was feeling extra-smug and deriding.
>>
>>19362040
It took us 2 weeks to do like five enchantments. By the time we've made hundreds of bracelets for the crew it'll probably be too late to be useful. A magic guard rail or magic safety net or something on the ship seems easier.
>>
>>19362058
Yeah, I'd say it's relatively okay, until the bit about dying on impact.

>>19362076
Dozens, maybe. Certainly not hundreds. This can't be that large a ship. I'd bet the elves have something of the sort readily available, though. We should ask Kiyara.
>>
"Well," You say, "I could try to enchant-"
"Actually," Kiyara interrupts you, and you have to force yourself from getting upset. "You don't have to worry about falling off. The magic shields work both ways." She said.
"That makes me feel a little better." The orc says.
>>
>>19362104
Come on, you're the first Orc crew to fly through the skies on a ship turned modified airship. Imagine where you can go with this without having to worry about pesky things like land.
>>
"Come on, you're the first orc crew to fly through the skies on a ship turned modified airship. Imagine where you can go with this without having to worry about pesky things like land." You say. One of the orcs in the back cheers. The rest of the crew looks back at him- he wilts, slightly, under their stares.

"Lady Ishelda?" Lewin asked. "May I speak with you in private?"
>>
>>19362236
"Of course, Lewin, what is it?"
>>
>>19362236
Of course Lewin. Adjourn to a private area and ask what he wishes to talk to us about.
>>
>>19362236
Sure thing.
>>
"Of course, Lewin." You say, and go belowdeck again.
In the background, the power core crystal, the 'heart' of the airship, hums quietly.
"What is it?" You ask.
". . Are you okay?" He asks. Then he was silent for a moment, and sighed as you just looked at him. "The reason we didn't wake you up this morning was. . well, you were crying in your sleep."
>>
>>19362302
I'm handling it, I couldn't call myself a Princess if I couldn't cope most of the time. When I said I was from somewhere very far away that was an understatement, I lost everything I had and the first people I met after that were you, Fellwind and Grayson.
>>
Dint you knew that users of magic need to ged rid off old magicial reserves throught tears or they can lose ability to use magic?
>>
"I'm handling it." You say, somewhat more harshly than you intended, and then you calm your voice, speaking softly. "When I said I was from somewhere very far away. . that was an understatement. I lost everything I had."
"I. . I see." Lewin said. "I'm sorry."
>>
>>19362325
There's no need to outright lie about it.

It's not your fault, keeping up my Princessy nature is just how I deal with it, can't cry in front of the men and all that.
>>
"Don't be." You say. "It's not your fault. Your company has been a fine reassurance in this realm."
"This realm?" He asks, and a sudden realization dawns on him. "You mean. . You're from another world. Just like the coven. Before I thought you might have been from across the eastern sea, but. . "
>>
>>19362451
"No, not just like the coven. I am not insane."
>>
>>19362451
As far as I know yes. My world is dead and I am all that survives of my line. However I am not a crazy or malicious like the Coven.

I'm the same mysterious noble girl with strange magic that you've known since we've met.
>>
>>19362461
This

>>19362478
No need to tell this much. It will make us less mysterious.
>>
"No, not just like the coven." You say. "I am not insane."
"Of course not, lady." He said. "But. . are the coven really insane? We don't even know what their goals are."
>>
>>19362522
They are at the very least rather impolite and suffer from a serious lack of class. Also living in the middle of the wasteland does not do you any favors in how you're perceived.
>>
>>19362522
"Who knows? They could even be trying to save this realm in their own way."
>>
"They are at the very least, rather impolite, and suffer from a serious lack of class." You say. "But who knows? They could even be trying to save this realm in their own way."
"After we reach the southern prism. . are we going to talk to them? Because that's what you told the elf woman you'd do." He asked.
>>
>>19362631
I will talk to them, in due time of course. They know things I do not and I would learn more of them. I don't trust them of course but they could be useful.
>>
>>19362631
"We will certainly try."

Actually I think if we're going south anyway we should go just a bit further south and find some lizard people to talk to about the wasteland before we head in.
>>
"I will talk to them in due time." You say. "They know things I do not, and I would learn more of them. But first, I'm considering talking to the lizardmen about the wasteland before we head in."
"Are you sure that's wise?" He asks. "The lizardmen aren't the most. . welcoming. More welcoming than trolls and hobgoblins, of course, but. . "
>>
>>19362699
I'm sure they will fall to my effortless charm, though I suppose I should learn more of them before I attempt diplomacy. I wouldn't want a faux pas, such a breach of conduct would be unacceptable.
>>
>>19362699
"Magic is the best mediator between language barriers or plain hostility. I need not explain more."
>>
"I'm sure they will fall to my effortless charm, though I suppose I should learn more of them before I attempt diplomacy." You say.
"We're almost to the center prism." Kiyara said, coming down the steps. "The northern prism might as well have been a backwater town compared to this. You ready to see a *real* elven city, you two?" She asked.

There was more than one tower. Many, many more. Of course, there was only one floating prism, in the center, but each tower had hundreds of balconies, most of them connected to eachother's towers, bridge connecting to bridge, multiple, smaller spires sprouting from the larger, more primary ones. . Everything glittering with orichalum. Above the prism, there were hundreds of airships, coming and leaving and just plain drifting in the sky.

"So." She said. "Should we hang out here for a bit, or continue on?"
>>
>>19362822
We should definitely have a look around. And that way Kiyara can show off her new invetion.
>>
>>19362822
I admit, your people have a flair for architecture. Though it is a bit towery and the orichalum could be seen as slightly gaudy.

Let's hang out here, show off our ship, see the sights, meet the important people.
>>
>>19362822
I guess we could wander around a bit. We didn't really see anything of the last city except the docks and Kiyara's room.
>>
>>19362822
"Oh my."
>>
"Oh my." You say. "I admit, your people have a flair for architecture. We should definitely have a look around."
"Let me set us down, then." She said, and the airship shifted, lowering gently. "Remember, this place is a lot like a rat's nest when you don't know it. If you wander up stairs or past the wrong bridges, you'll end up lost. It's pretty much a three dimensional labrynth made of balconies, spiral staircases, and orichalum. If any of you get lost, just ask a Keeper to lead you up here, to the Crafter's dock."

Kiyara set the airship down, and climbed out, checking the airship's crystals to see if they were damaged at all, and then led you and your companions off.
"This is the marketplace." She said, leading you to the largest balcony, suspended between seven of the larger towers- hundreds of large tents and tables sat out hodge-podge, a jumble of silk and copper, with various elves barking out their wares.
>>
>>19362966
Lewin, Fellwind, we're going shopping. Come along and carry my bags, also we're getting you some more formal outfits, I have to be prepared in case I need escorts to a ball or other festivities. There is no time to spare.
>>
"Lewin, Fellwind, we're going shopping." You say, giving them a bright smile. "Come along and carry my bags. There is no time to spare."
"I have to admit, I'm not familiar with humans. Are they okay?" Kiyara asks Grubwort as the three of you and Grayson both wander off. "They're not supposed to pale like that, are they?"

It isn't long until you have both Lewin and Fellwind fitted for formal tunics, and, while you were at it, you got them new sheathes and quivers for their weapons. Lewin also got a short spear, because as he mentioned, 'not everything will wait and let me shoot them'. Of course, you got yourself some spare dresses, in the elven fashion- now you just need lizardmen and hobgoblin dresses, if they have such things, and you'll have some for every occasion.
While you're here. . is there anything else you planned on getting. .
>>

Perhaps a piece of proper armour we can enchant to provide protection for us? Just in case our magic should fail us.

Crystal magic storage bracelet of doom.
>Rolling for quality because, why not?
>>
>>19363176
Kiyara said earlier that they don't usually sell crystals to outsiders but she can get us some at the south prism. Don't buy that horrible quality tourist shit you just rolled for.
>>
You find a very beautiful, glittering bracelet, complete with a glimmering gem. You look at it more closely. . and it isn't even orichalum, and the gem is just glass. You frown, and change your mind about buying it.

"Should I get some proper armor?" You ask your two companions.
"Well. . ." Lewin said. He trailed off, but you can tell from his expression that he doesn't think it's right for a young girl to gear up for battle.
"If anywhere, here would be the place to get it." Fellwind said. "Full grown elves are physically similar to you as you are now, so it would be designed for someone your height and weight."

You end up with a complex, intricately woven brigandine, complete with silk, some kind of alchemized metal, and soft leather strips. You can tell, vaguely, that part of the brigandine was woven with orichalum thread, making the item easier to enchant- the merchant must not have known that, or simply didn't care that you were human.
>>
will the armor give us any kind of magic boost
>>
>>19363298
>No, it won't- it has no storage capacity. It's just much easier to enchant.

You shift the armor- it's a bit heavier than you're used to, but not heavy enough to slow you down at all.
"How do I look?" You ask.
"Suits you." Lewin said. "And even if it didn't, you could wear a frock over it. It's thin enough."
Fellwind simply frowned, and took the bags of supplies you bought, dragging it all along with you.

An hour later, the four of you come back to the Crafter's Dock, luckily, not having gotten lost.
You come back to some kind of argument, between Kiyara and an elf you don't recognize- he has a large, thick gauntlet, much like Kiyara's, but you sense the presence of a spellcaster on him.
"He is dead." The elf says.
"He's not! He's just missing." Kiyara said. "He wouldn't leave me like that, and he said he'd come back. Get that straight, Jahwol."
>>

"A human? And. . who might you be, miss?" He asked.

>>
"I am the Lady Ishelda." You say. "I am travelling the world, and decided to stop by your fair city."
"I see. I am the Crafter Jahwol, son of Minnae." Jahwol said, giving you a bow and a smile that didn't meet his eyes. "Then I wish you and your companions good luck. . for whatever you are seeking." He said, with a glance to Kiyara. "I will take my leave."
Jahwol left, and Kiyara glared daggers into his back as he did so.
>>
>>19363500
What's his problem?
>>
"What's his problem?"
"What *isn't* his problem?" Kiyara asked. "He convinced the council to declare my father dead, just so he could take his place as Crafter. He's all about the pride and glory, but doesn't care about the important things, like knowledge, magic, and power."
>>
>>19363550
He seems unpleasant, I understand why you don't like him. Though it must be eating him up that you built an airship that doesn't need the weave.
>>
"He seems unpleasant, I understand why you don't like him." You say. "Though it must be eating him up that you built an airship that doesn't need the weave."
"Good point." She said, smiling grimly. "I didn't even think of that. You guys ready to take off again?"
"I'm ready to never, ever shop for anything ever again." Fellwind said, frowning.
>>
>>19363595
Fellwind stop complaining about shopping, it is a lovely activity and now I have the resources to school you in etiquette fit for a formal dinner or ball. Perhaps I'll teach you and Lewin to dance, it would be untoward for my companions to be unable to waltz should the situation require it.
>>
>>19363595
"Is it really that bad, Fellwind?"
>>
"Is it really that bad, Fellwind?" You ask.
He thought for a moment, then shrugged. "Actually, no, it isn't. Better than facing a raging troll, after all."
"Perhaps I'll teach you and Lewin to dance, now that I have the resources to school you in etiquette fit for a formal dinner or ball." You say.
"Okay, so where are those raging trolls we can face?" Lewin asked.
>>
>>19363645
Not even a horde of trolls could distract me from teaching you these things.

Once we are aboard the ship we shall start with the waltz, whoever is not being taught shall observe carefully and learn what they can, I expect great things from you.

When we break for dinner you will follow proper manners, I will correct you should you make a mistake.

I shall make gentlemen out of the two of you yet, now come along.
>>
>>19363665
This will be glorious... They will be our battle butlers yet. It's like a game of reverse-MAID.
>>
>>19363665
Do we have musicians? Even if we do, Orc sailors don't strike me as the type to play waltzes. We'll need to enchant some self-playing instruments or something.
>>
>>19363696
Then we shall have to educate them as well. If we do not have proper instruments we shall acquire them before we leave. This is important.
>>
"Not even a horde of trolls could distract me from teaching you these things." You say, giving him a vaguely malicious, cold smile. "Come along."
The two rangers sighed, and resigned to their fate.

"We're almost to the southern prism." Kiyara said several hours later. You frown- It was hard enough to teach them with no instruments save for one of the orcs' accordion, but now they can use this chance to escape your clutches. . but only for now. .

"Councillor Absinad?" The keeper said- she was somewhat in awe at the humans and orc before her. "Kiyara is here."
"Come in." Came the aged voice.
Kiyara ran in, and hugged the aged elf.
"You're not busy, are you, Abby?"
"Not at the moment. Why do you ask?"
"Well. . some humans are traveling with me, so I was wondering if you'd write up an orichalum license for us."
He eyes the group. "My, my. . Who do we have here?"
>>

Eventually, he's gonna grow up.

>>19364073
Introduce ourselves, and our companions, as we have gotten in the habit of doing.
>>
>>19364073
I am Lady Ishelda and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance councillor Absinad.

These are my companions Fellwind, Lewin, Grubwort and Grayson.
>>
"I am Lady Ishelda, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintence, Councillor Absinad." You say.
He chuckled, took your hand, and bowed deeply. "Pleased to meet you, Lady Ishelda."
"These are my companions, Fellwind, Lewin, Grubwort, and Grayson."
"Pleased to meet you." He said again, and bowed deeply to them. He turned to Kiyara. "Of course, girl, I'll write it up right now. Why do you ask?"
"Well. . Ishelda here is a spellcaster, so having access to crystals to store energy would help her a lot." Kiyara said.
"I see. I also see that a certain airship in the airport looks of orcish design, and is complete with an orcish crew." He said. "I'm wondering if that's slightly connected to your appearance here."
Kiyara grinned. "I got it working!"
"You got it working! My, my, you should be proud, girl." He said, and chuckled, signing a small scrip of paper.
"I am proud." Kiyara said.
>>
>>19364166
Before we leave we need to ask Kiyara if she can play a musical instrument, and also acquire a violin so we can continue our dancing lessons properly. It will be difficult to play and teach at the same time, we'll have Kiyara dance with Lewin and Fellwind and teach them from there and come in to fix any mistakes they make.
>>

grayson and grubwort could act as watzing teachers...
>>
>>19364166
It is quite an impressive feat that Kiyara accomplished, I never expected an orcish ship to take flight, a ship with no limitations on where it cango, isn't that amazing.
>>
"So, then, if your airship is complete, I suspect you'll follow your father's footsteps?" He asked.
"Well. . that's the plan, yeah." Kiyara said. "And then I'll drag him back."
"If he's still alive."
"Oh, he's alive." She responded. "I feel it."
"Here you go, Lady Ishelda." The councilor said, and gave you the scrip of paper. "Take good care of Kiyara for me- she's almost like a niece to me."

>>

She shall be in the best of care, I will see to it personally. Thank you for your trust in me.
>>
"Thank you." You say, giving him a brilliant smile. "I shall do my best."
"Excuse me for the presumption, but. . you're not related to High Lady Cerulean by any means, are you? your mannerisms remind me. . . " He said.
>>
>>19364284
"Oh, I very much doubt it. I'm from very, very far away."
>>
>>19364284
I'm afraid not Councillor, though I am flattered by the complement you just paid me.
>>
>>19364284
Well we clearly know who we need to have tea with next.

"No no, I'm afraid I'm from a kingdom rather far away. If you would like though me, and the Elvish council could get together and have a spot of tea. I can tell you all about it."
>>
"Oh, I'm afraid not, Councilor," You say. "I'm from very, very far away."
"I see, I see. So you're from across the sea, I presume?"
"Something like that." You say, and give him another smile.
"Anyway, we'd better get going." Kiyara said. "I'd better get her a bracer and crystal."
"Very well." He said, waving at Kiyara. "Take care of your self, Kee."
"I will!" She said, and left the balcony, as she started going down.

"What." Said the store owner, as he leaned up against the wall- you notice he's wearing a gauntlet, so he must be a crafter. You sense the very slight presence of a spellcaster from him- if he's a wizard, he's not a very powerful one.
"Hey, Ele'merelda'jaridan." Kiyara says, giving him a grin.
"You know I hate that, Kiyara."
"Ladies and gentlemen," Kiyara turns around. "Meet Ele'merelda'jaridan, who was given a very long, complicated name that he hates. That's pretty much all there is to him- he's not a very complex character."
"Screw you too."
"This is Lady Ishelda. She just got a scrip from Absinad, so she needs a bracer."
"One with a standard crystal?"
"No, I have a crystal for her." She says. "Well, she has a crystal."
"Cool." He said, and slid an orichalum bracer across the table. You fit the dark violet crystal into it, and slip the bracer on.

>Stamina increased!
>>
>>19364379
Thank you very much Ele.
>>
>>19364379
"Now I want three more."
One on each wrist! One on each ankle!
>>
"Thank you very much, Ell." You say.
He grinned, and pointed at you. "You. I like you."
"What was that name again?" Grubwort asks. "Ele'mere. . "
While Kiyara instructed Grubwort as to the proper pronounciation of Ell's name, he turned to you. "You need anything else, Lady Ishelda?" He asked. "We aren't big on crafting down at this prism, but if you need crystals or orichalum, here's where you can get it."
>>
>>19364427
I have wanted to experiment with crystals and orichalum Ell, would you mind showing me your stores?
>>
"I have wanted to experiment with crystals and orichalum Ell, would you mind showing me your stores?"
"Certainly." He said. "Just let me see the scrip. . "
You show it to him. "Come on in." He said, and unbolted the door.

You enter the storeroom, and see many more bracers, and a wall covered in various crystals of different shapes.
"Down near the back we have the more archaic, older things that we don't normally use. . but you're looking for raw materials, right?"
>>
>>19364500
"Yes, but I wouldn't mind seeing finished items, as well. See what has been done."
>>
>>19364500
I am looking for raw materials, but knowing what the finished product is supposed to be like will give me an excellent starting point for my research.
>>
rolled 80 = 80

>>19364500
by all means show us the archaic things too. but yes a few raw materials to start with certainly..
>>
>>19364500
My initial impulse is towards raw materials, but there may be other items that would suit my needs.
>>
"Yes, but I wouldn't mind seeing finished items, as well. See what has been done, so to speak."
"Well, most of our enchanted items are fairly basic. Crystals with preset spells, set in bracers. Gauntlets for crafters that allow us to imprint new spells in crystals, or repair them. . Then we have spears and javelins for the Keepers. . Some of our older things are golem cores- they used to help us farm, but they take too much energy out of the weave for anyone to use them twenty four seven. I don't even exactly know what we have in the back, though. Most of it is much too archaic and backwards for me to understand most of it. Some crafter had a real thing for birds, though, and made tiny orichalum hawks designed to fly around. They're well made, but. .not very useful."
>>
>>19364581
Then by all means show me to the archaic items, I believe I will find the most inspiration there.
>>
>>19364581
Oh, well I would hate to leave all of those cluttering things up for you. Why don't you let me take them off of your hands for you? (Goal is a couple for cheap)
>>
>>19364581

>>
>>19364654
I think we're going to acquire some dapper golems now.
>>
"Then, by all means, show me the archaic items." You say.
"Well, I'm not sure what's in there. . ." He said, and opened the doors. Dust instantly bellows out, and the two of you start coughing.

You see. .a golem. It looked somewhat like a spider, with it's legs curled underneath it, and three crystals where it's eyes should have been.
"I've never seen a golem like this before." He said, looking more closely at it. "Most of them are humanoid, with two legs and two arms. . It doesn't seem like it's keyed to the weave, though, so it's useless."

"Well. . let me feel it up." You say, placing your palm against the spider's three crystals. You give it a nudge with your power. .
And something latent inside of it comes to life, as the three crystals shift to a dark violet color, and power floods forth from the inside of the golem. The legs twitch.
"Well. . if you can get it to work, you can have it." He says.
The legs twitch again.
And again.

And then the golem stands at it's full height, the three crystals looking down at you two.

can you respond?
>>
"Hello, I am your new owner." You say. "I wonder what you can do?"
"Master acknowledged." It buzzed, it's voice tinny and artificial.
"Whoa." Ell said from beside you. "Most golems don't talk, either. Must have been some kind of eccentric crafter. Golems mostly understand basic commands, like come, go, build, chop down that tree. They can't understand complex commands very well, but they have really good memories. At least until they have too much knowledge, in which case you have to ask them to wipe their minds."
>>
>>19364764
Good morning beautiful, I am your mistress. I shall think of a proper name later. Now come along you simply aren't dressed properly, spider golem or no I will not have you wander the streets like this.
>>

"Fascinating." You say. "I'd also like to look at those birds you mentioned, if I might."
"Very well." He said, and picked up a few small, orichalum birds. He prodded one, and it's wings spread. It started flittering around his head. . .
"That's all it does, until it runs out of energy." He shrugged.

"Now, come along, you simply aren't dressed properly. . Spider golem or no, I will not have you wander the streets like this."
Ten minutes later. .you've purchased a black top hat to go with the golem's orichalum sheen.
"Hmm, do you have a name?" you ask.
"No." It responds.

Dave is a deserving name though I am personally leaning towards Anansi or Arachne depending on what gender suits it best.

"Then I suppose your name will have to be. . Bubbles. Ser Bubbles, as knighted by the crown princess of Arcturia." You say, after making certain nobody can hear you.
"Understood." Bubbles says, and you walk back to the rest of the group.
"Uhm. . Lady, there is a very large golden spider wearing a top hat behind you." Fellwind said, his hand on his blade's hilt.

Grayson nudged it with his nose, then harrumphed.
"This is Ser Bubbles, our newest companion. I found him in the archaic section of a storehouse full of magical elven stuff."
"I'm. . not sure what to think." Lewin said.
"I think he's cute too." Kiyara said. "Lightweight, too. Reminds me kind of my dad's birds."

"We'll find out." you say, and close your eyes. You reach out, and and say his name under your breath, searching. .

The sky is full of black smoke, and the ground is littered with bloody bodies and shattered weapons. An aged elf with red hair stood there, a long spear in his hand.
You see. . something familiar.
Something horrible.
Something you've only seen before in two different places; Arcturus, and your nightmares.
In front of him stood a demon, wings unfurled, long raking talons. It snarls, and leaps forth.

You come to, screaming at the top of your lungs.
