ZERG TIME!http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19281105/Kerrigan is the Queen of Earth! We gave it to her with a bow on top (literally. The polar expedition was a last-minute touch by Artisanlord). Also, Tassadar's splinter Protoss attacked Tarsonis, landing a strike force to kill Defensebrate. Gorn's bodyguards defeated the strike force, while Warbrate's fleet defeated the Protoss in space. Tassadar will doubtless strike again. We must be cautious.Unfortunately, we also damaged the Worldship fragment's computer systems beyond repair. It is now just a relic of the Xel'Naga.
Scheduling: How's the 15th? Do we like the 15th?
>>19352504I say we dust off the ol' psi compass, set it to toss, and go hunting. Wont help with the DTs, but I'm sure they're with Tassadar. Also, I learned of two three things we forgot about, only one is possible useful: Burrowlisks, Snatcheries, and Recoverylords. Also have an abbreviated history.https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1DUKzW_jngtSJ2RZudzy9TUjCZvmiWKFq6rs_68Bh1ug
>>19352504First off, notify Kerrigan of the attack and the Protoss' official stance on Tassadar's splinter-group. She must be kept up-to-date on such things.
>>19352576Heh. Snatcheries. I'm proud of that one.
I forsee the endgame scenario of this quest, will be cakes and tea, zerg style.
>>19352504We still have our guards around all the cerebrates, right?Could we do something similar for Kerrigan, just in case, and also around any remaining Terran leaders or seats of power? The Morian Guild Hall and so on?
>>19352612We've told Kerrigan. She thinks it's likely that Tassadar will try to target our cerebrates, to inflict maximum damage. On a...uh...completely unrelated note, roll 2d100.
>>19352688>>K-On/Hyouka, but zerg style. What a horrible night to have a bunch of fetishes and moeI'm terrified, yet curious on how this will turn out.
rolled 17, 41 = 58>>19352701This is worrying.I want the security on all Cerebrates increased, and more intensive Detector coverage.Mix Terran and Zerg detection systems. Also include a squad of remote-control Terminators at each Cerebrate; let's see the Protoss detect a pure machine with their psionics.
rolled 22, 34 = 56>>19352701Unrelated, sure.>>19352731Observers are pure machine, and we can detect them. And why would we use terminators? Zergleks work much better.
rolled 20, 9 = 29>>19352701In that case, we should beef up security and/or spawn more security around our remote Cerebrates. We might even want to start subtly building up defenses around Xenta, in case the Protoss come across it.
>>19352764>Observers are pure machine, and we can detect themNo, the point is for the Protoss, who are so dependent on psionics, to attempt to tell the difference between a harmless toaster and a semi-sentient warmachine like a Terminator. And yes, pound for pound a Zerglek is better, but they're also more resource intensive to manufacture.RC Terminators are a quick stopgap solution until we can have whole squads of Zergleks for Cerebrate Defense duty.
rolled 17, 88 = 105>>19352701KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKKE
rolled 79, 44 = 123>>19352701Oh god all our rolls are terrible
>>19352764Observers are Protoss Machines, which presumable use Psionic stuff in them somewhere.
>>19352731>>19352764(The dice like you, tonight)Warbrate is jolted from the cleanup operations above Tarsonis by the sudden arrival of a massive fleet of ships over Dagobah. The fleet is clearly larger than the one that just fled Tarsonis, though it may include some of the same ships. Cyberbrate's squads of prototype Terminator models manage to establish a perimeter, but they are very clearly outnumbered.Way outnumbered.Warbrate and Gorn begin feverishly reorganizing the fleet to respond, but both of them are concerned about the size of the attacking fleet.
>>19352788I'm pretty sure they'll assume the bipedal robots are evil. Tassadar assumes everything is evil, he's paranoid like that. Regardless, I still say we use the psi compass to find him.
>>19352845Warbrate and Gorn are given full authorization to use nuclear weapons for the defense of Dagobah. Organize whatever ships we can get into position.
>>19352845I assume we're already using Heightliners to do this. Have them jump as close as they can without being in sensor range of the attacking fleet. Also this means Tassadar found out about Cyberbrate somehow. That bodes ill, since we didn't tell the protoss about that right?
>>19352845Send in the Love Muffins! Use heighliners to do it! Assuming of course the fleet is hostile, what's it look like?
>>19352895We didn't. But a handful of Dark Templars might be a bit difficult to detect if all they're trying to do is look around. Either Tassadar has some new buddies, or he's been working on his spywork.
Attacking Cyberbrate. . . called it.Send the Love Muffins. Also, have him launch nukes if it'll take some of them out.
>>19352941>>19352894Bring the CORE fleet from UED space: 1Nuke 'em: 1I love how fast things escalate in our threads.
>>19352967>I love how fast things escalate in our threads. It's fucking Tassadar. After what he's been shown to be capable of, we shouldn't take chances.
>>19352967Both!
>>19352967Love Muffins first, don't want Nukes going off too close to a giant computer.
>>19352967Can we do both? Also, have Cyberbrate prepare appropriate defenses against stealthers. You know, long hallways, flamethrowers, detectors built in walls, etc. etc.
>>19352967Nukeing will take less time to do. So confirm that it's the enemy, then nuke them. Toaster has too many nukes anyway, and he need to learn the value of sharing.
>>19352965>>19352992>>19353000>>19353004Toss your best 3d100s, gentlemen!
>>19352951I just had a bad thought.Cerebrate ANON, can we see if we can reach Raynor with our mind? I want to see if he's still within known space.
>>19353004>You know, long hallways, flamethrowers, detectors built in walls, etc. etc.ffffffffffff
>>19353029And last thread he was acting cocky about sitting on the largest pile of nukes ever. It's pretty obvious that if they were willing to attack one, they'd attack the others, and that's not even considering other stuff they may be willing to do to sneak those Dark Templar in.
rolled 2, 2, 6 = 10>>19353039
rolled 61, 97, 63 = 221>>19353039Time to roll three dice.
rolled 66, 24, 37 = 127>>19353039rollan
rolled 86, 3, 89 = 178>>19353053Oh God No.Please tell me I can reroll.
>>19353044He's on Tarsonis, already helping with recovery efforts. Granted, all the ground damage they're recovering from is due to riots, but we're not making a big deal out of that.
rolled 54, 57, 29 = 140>>19353039Hopefully it works out.
Wait. . . Oh god. It's to aim.WE SUCK AT THAT!
>>19353066I wonder if he'd like to visit Earth? I know I said I didn't trust him around our adorable baby sister, but he's proven himself to be passable. And once the current crisis is dealt with, we should try replicating the whole super infested terran thing with our igegs.
>>19353085We always suck at aiming, it's why we need to build so many.
rolled 57, 12, 67 = 136we should probably research better aiming techniques.
>>19353119We could call her and ask if she'd want him. He deserves a reward after killing Kingston for us.I don't really want him to be near our sister either, but she's an adult and I'd rather have him than some other Terran.
>>19353053Everybody in the galaxy trips over their own feet. Three whole species are so embarrassed, everybody agrees to never speak of it again. Some people propose that it be called the Great Blushing, but they are silenced, because it's just so humiliating.>>19353055The heighliners jump from UED space to the Koprulu Sector and back, ferrying our Love Muffins to a new frontier. Our Zerg fleet uses conventional warp technology to arrive. The Protoss fleet uses the delay well, cutting through the Terminator perimeter and laying siege to Cyberbrate's Northern comm array. The fleets arrive soon enough to keep the Protoss from utterly destroying it, but Cyberbrate reports a significant amount of damage.Cyberbrate warns that if the North and South arrays are sufficiently damaged, it will lose the ability to command the Love Muffins. At the moment, the battle appears slightly in our favor.
>>19353158Technically he didn't kill Kingston for us, he got freaked out by all the dead people and had a breakdown. Maybe we need to tweak his mind. Overmind knows what Father did in Kerri's head.
>>19353229Quick! Psionic high-five the fleet!
>>19353229Press the advantage by launching some nukes at the flagship, or the largest ship that is far enough away from cyberbrate that the explosion won't reach him.
>>19353229Tell Cyberbrate to attempt to find an alternative communication route as quickly as possible, so that even with the loss of both arrays, it can maintain control of the Terminators and Love Muffins.Have Warbrate concentrate on defense with the Love Muffins and any Terran assets we have, while Gorn is let loose to go on the attack with conventional Zerg forces.Have those nukes arrive on the flanks of the Protoss fleet.
We have a planetfull of nukes nobody knows about. Saturate the enemy fleet with them. See if we can't launch them, then cut the thrust so that they're unidentifiable chunks of space-stuff floating about. Then when they reach the enemy fleet remote detonate.
>>19353229Park the Muffins around the South Array, harass the 'toss with the Zerg units. This is probably almost every ship Tassadar has. Playing attrition now will annoy him to no end, he'd want GRORIOUS COMBAT.>>19353280The explosion's not that part to worry about, it's the EMP that'll fuck him over,
>>19353323>>19353280>>19353296>>19353310Am I counting right that there are 3 votes here for nuking the Protoss fleet surrounding Cyberbrate's comm array, and one to surround the other array and just let the Protoss burn up their resources?
>>193534014 now.
>>19353401My vote is to hit the flanks of the Protoss fleet, away from the comm array, with nukes.
>>19353401Consult our science team. What would happen if we exposed Protoss to our Psi-cannons?
Err, will nuking the fleet expose Cyberbrate to EMP?
>>19353412Alright...Lemme see...6d100. Yes, that ought to cover this, at first.

rolled 45, 10, 79, 63, 50, 96 = 343>>19353531
>>19353538Yes,>>19353482Good question, I want to say nothing, but if we roll well enough...
>>19353538>>19353570>Quest is really largeAh, for the good old days when we dragged a moon from planet to planet, then blew up the largest psionic crystal in the galaxy with nukes while Labbrate flew away dramatically, just to keep anybody else from getting it...>Rolls!We fire two missiles from Nuke World (Toaster is always excited for a chance to display its merchandise, and gleefully diverts Nuke World's defensive forces into a sort of impromptu honor guard for the departing missiles. Nargil finds this unaccountably juvenile). The first hits the Protoss fleet, destroying a carrier. The debris from the ship does mostly cosmetic damage to the comm array. The second missile, however, swings wild. It explodes too far from any Protoss ship to do damage, but fries the electronics in two of the large antennae of the array.Cyberbrate estimates that the array is operating at 31% efficiency...which lasts only until the Protoss divert a squadron of scouts to it, which destroy the remaining antennae entirely. The debris causes even more damage as it falls.
>>19353751Can Cyberbrate reroute communications through a tertiary communication hub? Have the Love Muffins and Defensebrate engage in defense around the Southern Array, have Gorn harass and attrite the Protoss forces. And have Cyberbrate start setting up detectors and defenses around itself; it's likely that Tassadar has already landed Dark Templar assault teams.
>>19353855Cyberbrate has the resources to rebuild the arrays, but it will take a substantial amount of time. If the Southern array is destroyed, the Love Muffins will be dead in space for quite some time. Cyberbrate could load VoidGate's autonomous shipboard programs into them, but it isn't sure if they are compatible with the Zerg-designed Love Muffins, or just how much of VoidGate might still be in them.Cyberbrate has several rudimentary detectors in place, and a small contingent of Terminators.
Should we use the Love Muffins to aggress the main Protoss fleet? Since they're real well-designed, they should be able to cause a lot of damage if they're properly backed up by Zerg/Terran assets. Use them as a wedge and have our regular ships and/or nukes go in and start wrecking shit. Also seconding prepping Cyberbrate anti-Dark Templar defenses. Do you think we should include Zergleks on the ground?
>>19353947Have the Love Muffins begin aggressively attacking the Protoss fleet, with the Zerg forces on the defensive. We can't risk allowing the VoidGate software to be loaded onto our ships, and in case the Southern Array is destroyed, then the Love Muffins would become useless. We should use them while we can.
>>19353947Get some Dropbservers and/or cloaked overlords for detection purposes. Cyberbrate knows the complex he's stationed in best, and he'll know how to use the terrain to his advantage. As I said in 19353985, we might want to include some Zergleks for Cyberbrate's defense team, along with other beefy and/or projectile-hurling Zerg. With abundance the long narrow hallways in the complex, a team of Gausslisks/Terminators/Zergleks should be able to hold off a sizeable enemy force.
The love muffins are controlled via transmitter. Would it be possible to land one and hook into it directly to use as an impromptu transmitter?
>>19354069You mean, land a Love Muffin somewhere on the complex and hook it up into Cyberbrate's control system to create a tertiary transmitter array?
>>19354069Cyberbrate is skeptical, and the ship would need to land at or very near the base of one of the arrays to connect to the proper machinery, but it will try if we wish.>>19354056>>19353985We would have to get the Zergleks to the surface.>>19354032>>19353985>>19353855We're all for using the Love Muffins to attack the Protoss, then?
>>19354195For now, push the Love Muffins as much as possible. They should be attacking aggressively before we lose them.See if we can move any ground troops into Cyberbrate for defense. Zergleks if we can, or just masses of Gausslisks.
>>19354195Use the Muffins to attack the Protoss. Divert one to attempt the transmitter plan. It's better than losing complete control of them, and they have a hell of a lot more durability than the normal com arrays.
>>19354195The Sons of Aiur will fear the might of our Love Muffins!
>>19354195Push the attack with the Love Muffins, except for a pair that will be used as tertiary transmitters. One lands to be the transmitter, and the second one acts as close-in defense. For the zergleks, try to get them into the complex as quickly as possible. Get them down to the surface with an escort of Mutalisks.
You guys think we should divert some fast-hitters to capitalize on any breaches the Love-muffins cause? Or should we just send nukes in their wake, if it wouldn't cause further harm to the arrays?
>>19354332Scourges would be better, simply because our aim with nukes is so unpredictable.
>>19354353Load nukes into Scourges?
>>19354367No way that could end badly.
>>19354367>>19354353Right, Scourges. So simple, and with the ability to dive bomb stuff. Why do we keep not using Scourge in numbers that blot out stars?
>>19354228I'm glad you guys talked me into that name.>>19354391Because they're kind of overpowered, once you've got enough resources to build 30,000 of the things.>>19354282>>19354224>>19354207Alright. I count 5d100. Remember: You're not always rolling for you. :D

>>19354508>>19354548(I should've started writing out the DCs on these earlier. This makes my part easier!)We begin trying to push our Love Muffins right down the Protoss' throats, but Tassadar's fleet bares its teeth. (Heh) The Protoss simultaneously press the attack, and their ferocity catches Cyberbrate off-guard. The Love Muffins do some damage, but are largely pressed to one side as the Protoss blaze a trail to the Southern array. They haven't made a move to destroy it, yet, but Cyberbrate is very nervous, and its attack patterns mirror this, with Love Muffins attacking from high, easily sustainable orbits that won't degrade as quickly. We swear, we can feel Tassadar's...SMUG from Xenta. One Love Muffin is not in a high orbit, though. As the Protoss press around the planet, it moves behind them to the Northern array, coming in as gently as Cyberbrate can manage for the first Love Muffin landing ever. Following in it wake are ten of our Zergleks, ready to defend the cerebrate. Cyberbrate notes aspects of the landing struts that could use tweaking in future models, but focuses on modifying the ship to function as an emergency array. After a few furious minutes' work, it believes the ship will be able to keep the Love Muffins from falling out of the sky, but it would consider any serious combat coordination through this system miraculous. On Nuke World, Toaster is alarmed at the sudden deaths of two of its guards to cloaked assailants. Its fears are confirmed as a Protoss warrior leaps from the top of a silo, landing on the back of one of the patrol overlords, which it then proceeds to hack apart, disappearing from our sight as the dead Zerg carcass cushions its fall.Protoss treachery knows no bounds!(What can I say? The dice decided on this plan, and they've loved it end to end)
>>19354567rolling for psychic hood
>>19354767Any forces on or around Nuke world that can come to Toasters aid?Anyway, Zerg Air forces need to get in here now. While the Protoss are intent on attacking the Southern Array, we will trap them.Let them focus their attacks on the array, and we will surround them. After it falls, keep attacking with the Zerg units, but let the Love Muffins falter for a moment. Then we attack with them as well, and crush Tassadar.
>>19354767We had prepared emergency escape pods for our cerebrates when we saw how well they worked for Labbrate; does Toaster have one with him?In either case, have a Heighliner get a strike force to Nuke World immediately to help defend Toaster. Gausslisks and infested Ghosts, with Overlord and Dropserver support.
How did Tassadar find Nuke World? It was one of our military secrets, it should have been safe.
>>19354767Air forces to Cyberbrate, ground forces to Toaster.
Also, have toaster be willing to suicide rather than be killed by a dark Templar. We can resurrect a suicide
>>19354833>emergency escape podsIt does. If memory serves, though, they were not completely reliable. There would be rolling involved.>>19354833>>19354812>>19354892Attack the Protoss over Dagobah with Zerg forces, and rush reinforcements to Nuke World, is what you're all saying, yes?
>>19354920Good point.Tell Toaster to set up several warheads to go off and kill himself; we'll respawn him where it's safe.
>>19354928>Attack the Protoss over Dagobah with Zerg forces, and rush reinforcements to Nuke World, is what you're all saying, yes?Mostly ground reinforcements to Nuke World; we haven't detected a fleet in orbit, right?Have the Heighliners bring along some Wraiths and a Battlecruiser or two, just in case. And tell Toaster to arm some nukes just in case.
>>19354879Tarsonis, dagobah, and now nuke world? I think we have to seriously entertain the notion that Tasadar knows where all our cerebrates are.>>19354920Have we ever revived a dead cerebrate?
>>19354928Keep the Love Muffins near Cyberbrate too, but yeah. Also tell Toaster to detonate nukes if he feels he's about to die.>>19354920>>19354929Have we ever tested our ability to do that? We're not the Overmind.
>>19354929Assuming we can revive out cerebrates.
We did it with Bernie
>>19354956Who wasn't killed, but taken back into the swarm by us.Having us specifically kill people might be different than having them die due to a nuke.
We can use the escape pod if people are worried about our ability to revive Toaster. In fact, perhaps it would be better to have Toaster eject as soon as our space forces arrive and secure the airspace. We can then have him warp to a safe planet, and the ground forces can root out the Protoss.
>>19354983>>19354959>>19354951>>19354945>>19354943>>19354929>>19354920Ok. Are you guys going to have Toaster nuke itself, or try to use the escape platform?
>>19355028Try to secure airspace and use the escape platform. If that fails for any reason, nuke.Failing with the escape platform probably means he dies anyway, but best to nuke to make sure.
>>19355028As soon as the airspace is secured Toaster is to use the escape pod.If the Protoss look like they're going to get through, use the escape pod.If all else fails, we can't get to him before the Protoss, and the escape pod failed, then have him use the nukes.
>>19355028In short, use the escape platform.
I think we should also bring in our terran and protoss assets. Just saying, since Tassadar seems to know everything anyway.
>>19355046>>19355069>>19355113Ok. Looks like that's all the input I'm getting.Let's roll...6d100.
rolled 90, 17, 50, 1, 31, 28 = 217>>19355152We should have all of our cerebrates on high alert. Tell Labbrate to improve on the escape pod.And increase defenses against Dark Templar assassins for all of our cerebrates.
rolled 25, 5, 96, 17, 11, 7 = 161>>19355152The dice rolls again.
rolled 93, 29, 95, 59, 9, 44 = 329>>19355152
This is fucking ridiculous. We need to ask Khas for some kind of aid. Even just telling us Tassadar's likeliest hiding spots. There is no reason the Children of the Xel'naga have to fight.
>>19355365>There is no reason the Children of the Xel'naga have to fight.Well, actually, the Perfection of Form and the Perfection of Spirit were always meant to fight against each other, so that the one that prevails can be perfect in both form and spirit. That's the way the Xel'Naga created us.
So, list of things that might cause Tassadar to know about all of our secret shit:1.) Someone on the inside is betraying us. 2.) Dark Templar shenanigans. I remember there was this one almost-infested Dark Templar that we never accounted for after the Overmind croaked. Maybe he's using some special powers to seek out Zerg or something. Or Tassadar's got his hands on some magical Xel'naga Zerg compass.3.) iunno lol
>>19355179>>19355231(Huh. That's a very weird set of rolls, guys)While Toaster's guard dies, Gorn gets forces loaded and launched. They arrive quickly, and immediately begin isolating the Protoss threats. Unfortunately, the First Born are crafty. It is less of a straight-forward fight and more of a convoluted hunt. Gorn finally admits, with some trepidation, that it has taken too long, and the threat to Toaster is too much (we're surprised at Gorn's humility, actually). One of Toaster's tendrils wraps around the launch controls, and activates it. There is a rumbling as the long-dormant escape platform's engines activate and fire, quickly propelling the cerebrate up from Nuke World on a quick, dirty burn out of the atmosphere. As the secondary engines spool up for emergency warp flight, Toaster senses a crackling psionic emanation, then searing, unbearable pain as a blade whips across its flesh. One of the Protoss made it aboard the platform! Toaster's mind screams in pain, but remains conscious. The enemy's first strike was not deadly. There is still time!Meanwhile, over Dagobah, the Protoss turn their forces to attack the Southern array just as our Zerg fleet strikes. While our fleet inflicts no significant damage, the fortuitous timing completely diverts the Protoss strike. Embarrassingly enough, the only Protoss to die in our attack are two scouts sideswiped by a turning carrier. We suppose we can't complain, so long as some Protoss do actually die.
>>19355439Can we get a zerglek or anything onto Toaster's escape platform in time?Or would it be better to activate the emergency warp engines and get it to someplace with a boarding party?
>>19355439We could attempt to re-absorb Toaster. Or try some sort of psionic lash attack; Toaster is a part of us, and we're both giant fuckhueg fuckoff psionic brains. It might be worth a try to attempt a MIND CRUSH or Psionic High Five x 5000000.
I vote to build armored shells for our cerebrates.
Toaster will survive the warp flight. I bet the 'toss will die. That's one way to be safe. Are there any forces that can get there in time, or is it dependent on the engines?
>>19355515>>19355497As I see it, our options are as follows:Try to get forces from the surface of Nuke World onto the platformTry to attack the Protoss psionicallyArrange for our forces to be there when the platform arrives over Xenta, and pray to Father that Toaster lasts that longNuke the platform, and hope that we can resurrect ToasterVote or die, motherfucker!
>>19355566Try to attack the Protoss psionicallyANDTry to get forces onto the platform. We can hand off local control of force to Warbrate to handle the boarding party.Us and Toaster focus our psionic power on that lone Protoss and have the full force of the entire Swarm come down on that single existence.
>>19355581Tossing in another vote for PSI-HIGH-FIVE X 5000000.Pic kinda related.
>>19355581>>19355620Mkay. That's not a lot of input. We'll have a scarily dramatic cliffhanger, then.A Cerebrate's life hangs in the balance! Will Anon be able to save it, or will Tassadar's sinister plan claim the life of one of the Overmind's last remaining children? Will the Protoss fleet destroy the array, crippling the Machine Fleet?FIND OUT NEXT TIME, AT...I never got any replies is the 15th ok for everybody who's still up?http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19352504
