AEOLUS' ASININE AUTOSAGE!!!! IT'S TG QUEST!!!

Last Thread Kinda: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19231971/

In a thread not archived and struck down by the drooling maw of autosage, you sent an Observer out to monitor the SUE Trevor and witnessed what you believe was a use of SUE powers to seduce the demoness Mara. Earlier in a thread that was archived, you also resurrected and questioned Keiichi Morisato, confirming it was Trevor that killed him, apparently just out of spite. After resurrecting him, you broke the SUE control on his brain with the combined efforts of Cheryl and Tosh.

You still need to deal with the SUEs, though. And your actions very well might have unforeseen consequences...

It does, but that's all that really happened in it.

Anyway, incoming writefaggotry.

Cheryl tugged at the Transpace Guard uniform with a sour expression on her face.
“I hate these things,” she mumbled. The man walking alongside her smiled.

“Given the wide variety of clothing I'm seeing the others wear, I doubt anyone's going to give you trouble for walking around in civilian clothes,” Char Aznable said. “This isn't exactly a ship run on regulation, I'm seeing.”

“Believe me, I would, if I had more than the one set of clothes. I didn't exactly pack up my closet with me when we left...” Cheryl trailed off, shaking her head. “Anyway, it's only temporary. I'll bug someone for some jeans and a normal shirt later. They can take it out of my pay. Ugh. Still better than wearing that damn hardsuit! The way that biomed gel is all slathered on the interior? It's like moving around in a wetsuit full of vaseline!”

“...Yes... I can imagine...” Char said, his expression distant for a moment. He shook his head and adjusted the dark sunglasses he always wore in his 'Quattro Bajeena' persona. “Anyway, other than clothes, you're a hardy sort. I trust you're dealing with your new job well?”

“Yeah. It's not the most pleasant job, but I think I'd hate myself if I didn't try to do SOMEthing good with all this new power. Something to make up for everything else,” Cheryl frowned for a moment, then offered Char a wry smile. “...but you'd better believe I'll be right there in line with Lyla to protest if they cut our pay.”

“I'd offer you a suitcase of gold bars, but my own funds aren't what they once were either,” Char chuckled. Cheryl laughed lightly, pausing for a moment to look out one of the Storm's observation ports.

“It's... kind of annoying, you know? For a while there, I had a normal life. It was... fun. Then...” Cheryl shakes his head. “I dunno. Sometimes I wonder if what I went through didn't just turn me from a normal girl into just some bigass weapon.”

“That's a common fear for people such as you coming into new power,” Char states. “The fear of being turned into a pawn or being used as just a weapon is something that a lot of... people have had to face when they choose to serve something larger than themselves.”

“You were about to say newtypes weren't you? Been browsing the archives again?” Cheryl asked. She shook her head. “Thanks for the advice, I'll try to keep it in mind. Chose a bad time to reflect on this, though, they need me in the psi-lab in fifteen. You know how they found a few psychics among those soldiers from the Transpace Guard proper. I'm supposed to have a look at them or something.”

“I'm sure you'll do fine,” Char said with a smile.

Cheryl opened her mouth to say something, then stopped, an odd expression crossing her face.

“I'm not Lalah,” she finally said, voice slightly louder than a whisper. It was enough for Char to almost stumble in his steps. His own face twisted for a moment before his emotions returned to tight control.

“What?” Char asked, stopping and looking at Cheryl

“I just think sometimes... I think sometimes you need to be reminded. Sorry.” Cheryl says, offering Char a sad smile. “That scar... its affecting you more than you know.”

Both were silent for a while.

“What do you know about it?” Char murmured.

“...I know a bit about mental scars. Sorry for bringing it up,” Cheryl nodded. “We'll talk later. I've got to get going.”

The newtype and psychic then continued on their respective paths

Did we forget to tell Cheryl we have matter replicators?
>>
>>19309206
I think it's a matter of getting time on the replicators.
Remember, the Indefatigable is the only ship in the task force that has them, and they're sorely needed for the Engineering Bay, and for replicating equipment and fake ID's for everyone we send down.
>>
>>19309230
Yeah true enough.
>>
>>19309040
Right.

Let's take Cheryl on clothes shopping along Queens in Manhattan, and through all those Gap, Uniqlo and H&M stores. Hit up JCY House while we're at it.

COMMENCE RETAIL THERAPY.
>>
Okay, we have some items on our checklist:
1. Keep Keiichi Morisato under protection and observation. We don't know what side-effects there might be from his recent death and resurrection.

2. Prepare stakeout teams under the coordination of Douglas Cartland, with the appropriate fake ID's (Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Public Security Bureau, Ministry of Justice Public Security Intelligence Agency, Foreign Exchange Officer credentials, US Central Intelligence Agency ID's, United Nations Intelligence Taskforce credentials). They are to find and observe, but not engage, all targets not currently under observation (the 3 goddess knights, the Vindicare).

3. We should get an Observer tasked with finding and observing any portals to Warhammer 40k Canons. We may want to set up roadblocks and quarantine the areas, using construction (JR, regular building construction) and police cordons.

We need information before we can come up with a plan of action.
>>
>>19309327
Ideally, we should do that all of our teams, simply so that we have late-20th/early-21st Century plainclothes for when we need to sneak around.

Unfortunately, all of our hackers are getting their cyberware purged of viruses, otherwise we'd hack into the major credit card companies and give everyone a $500,000 line of credit.
>>
>>19309340

Should we consult the Farseers to scry for a route that would ensure the doom of the Vindicare-SUE (Brett)? Direct scrying on him seems to have not worked so well, but perhaps a more indirect way would yield better results.

Also, consult KI on how to provoke a Vindicare such that it recklessly charges an enemy instead of attempting to snipe or shank in back alley.

Morning, Day 2.

"No shit? A world run by a giant god-computer?" Mouse asked, grinning despite himself. "Ooooh, baby. I'd LOVE to have a look at the operating system for THAT!"

The Oncoming Storm's lounge area was particularly full today. It had become somewhat of a tradition for the 'elite' of the task force crew to congregate there after a briefing, and today was no exception. Even the ghosts that didn't, or rather couldn't, eat or drink lingered there for the company.

"Mouse, you're not going to hack reality," Elaine said with a sigh. The white mage rubbed her eyes, dark circles underneath them. "You'd end up just like the new guy, and I just got done healing him. I've never had to chain cast Esuna and Cure so many times in my life."

"It's probably all written in some god-language that would explode your mind by reading it too," Lyla added, tapping the bar counter impatiently as she waited for her drink. "Then I'd have to clean it up and raise you. No thanks."
>>
>>19309340

I think the 3rd goddess knight (the one who corresponds to Urd) is believed to have been trapped in space-time when he attempted to pass through the Judgement Gate with Urd. Although this is just basing off of what the Farseers said with a high scrying roll; we won't actually know for sure until the Storm's sensors are done searching for time/space anomalies.
>>
>>19309447
There are supposed to be 4 goddess knights, and I said 3 because I already discounted our ability to find Urd's simply be having our teams comb the area.
>>
>>19309420
A Vindicare behaves like a sniper would. Usually, a Vindicare wouldn't attempt head-on fights, but this one did against Khornate berserkers.

Basically, a sniper is weak against being stalked and assassinated. You could fuck him up with ways that his guns can't solve.

There. You didn't need clairvoyance to figure that out, right?
>>
Has anyone read and watched the Ah! My Goddess manga and anime series enough to know divergence points between the two? We need to identify whether we're in the TV series, the OVA series, or the manga.
>>
>>19309486
Ah! Metaquest! Introducing us to works in media, by force, if even by force, or threatening our survival.
>>
>>19309420
This Vindicare-SUE does not take full advantage of what a Vindicare is capable of. We should be able to out-snipe him handily.

We just need to have sniper teams set up on the roofs of the tallest buildings in the area, and attempt to find him.

"Statistically speaking, the odds of someone suffering spontaneous cranial combustion from merely viewing a piece of deific composition is about the same as someone being able to comprehend it," Egon stated, poking at some unidentifiable goo on his plate. Lyla winced.

"So statistically, what are the odds you can keep that down?" Spike asked, leaning over to stare at the grayish green glop. Egon turned to face him, impassively.

"It's a special protein-fiber gruel I managed to cook up with Data in the lab in our off time," he stated. "If it works as intended, I won't have to eat again today. So the odds should be relatively high. Unless our calculations were off."

"Cook it up... Ha! I see what you did there!" Mouse chuckled. "But seriously, Spike. I'll give you ten credits if you eat that thing and keep it down."
>>
>>19309510
Or just tamper with his home with fatal...implications.
>>
>>19309525
Gotta find him first, and a counter-sniper team would be good for that.

>>19309519
I say we double it to 20 credits, just to see him eat it.
>>
>>19309465

Ah, right. There's still the one with Peorth.

Anyhow, here's a tentative plan on how to deal with Trevor/Mara:

Current plan to deal with Trevor/Mara:

1a.) Aurors port down near hotel room first (or remote-cast from Al'kesh), set up anti-muggle charms and Imperturbable Charms around the environment to keep the noise contained within the room and to keep regular civvies from chancing across our operation.

1b.) port down speakers playing "Valley of the damned" by Dragonforce.

1c.) Bathe room with reality emitter rays from Al'kesh.

2) Send down Virtun and Spike, one equipped with a ring of luck to restrain/kill Trevor. Also send down burly grunt troops to assist in subduing Trevor, with other grunts equipped with reality disruptor rifles.

3.) Draw a ring of demon entrapment around Mara while she is dancing/recoiling in shock.

4.) Try to negotiate a temporary alliance, remind Mara of the time she was purified and if she allies with us we will help her get her revenge.

5.) Ask Mara about stuff (possible divine/infernal conflict building up?)

Also, as far as gathering info on Bell & the other 2 Knights, we could try to have Tosh contact the various Shinto spirits that live in and about the temple that the SUEs and goddesses are currently residing in. If the SUEs haven't directed their energies at these spirits directly, it's entirely possible that we could get a reliable source of information on them without tipping them off.
>>
We should totally go on a Ninja Finding Mission. Also, we need some Ryu Ninja writefaggotry.
>>
>>19309556
Given that they are staying in a hotel room, I doubt that the KI could fit through the door.
I would suggest the SCP troopers, since they have experience with the Reality Disruptor Rifles and they are in power armor.

Spike gave Mouse a long stare. "I learned my lesson about eating things I didn't understand the same time you picked up those new nano-tricks of yours."

Mouse winced. "Yeah... nevermind."

"Hang on..." Crowe said, grinning as he turned to face the hacker. "Ten credits, and all I have to do is eat that mush? Ha! You're on!"

"Wait a minute, I didn't say..." Egon tried to speak, only to be interrupted as Crowe grabbed the plate from him and took two big bites from the disgusting mess on it. The veteran pilot immediately turned white, then a shade of red, his expression contorting in comical and somewhat painful ways. After a full minute, he finally swallowed and took a deep gasp of air.

"See?" Crowe said. "Piece of cake. Lady luck is sti-BLAAAAARF"

The unfortunate pilot immediately double over the bar and emptied his guts onto the floor behind.

"Gross!" Cheryl got out, the others looking away with various expressions of digust for the most part. All except for one.

"Fascinating..." Egon muttered, pulling out a notepad. "I must've forgotten to carry the one..."

Clean-up droid to the lounge.

>>19309556
We should take advantage of our new cortical stacks and make sure that everyone we send for this operation is equipped with them.

For Virtun, though, we'll need Elaine or Lyla to hit him up with a ReRaise before he transports down.
We should avoid making evitable mistakes.
>>
>>19309447
In the afternoon of Day 2, the Storm completes its scan. There is a conflux between a temporal anomaly and reality distortion on the light side of the moon.
>>
>>19309703
What about the morning of Day 2?
Were we able to get the stakeout and counter-sniper teams into position at all?
>>
>>19309703
We should concentrate the Storm's scanners on that conflux, and get some visuals.
Send a probe droid to get some closer readings.
>>
rolled 85 = 85

>>19309718
You send your Delta Green team along with Douglas Cartland to stake out the house the goddesses now dwell in.
>>
>>19309789
Douglas and the Greens are able to set up a surveillance network without anyone noticing... or at least, if anyone DOES notice, they're not doing anything about it.
>>
>>19309825
How's Ryu Ninja doing with stealthily taking out the distortion bug rabbit spider things?
>>
>>19309748
Visually, there is a large area of 'wavy' space on the moon, within a large crater. It looks the same way air does rising off extremely hot asphalt.
>>
>>19309851
He's still at it. He's likely to be at it for a very, very long time at the rate the bugs are spawning.
>>
>>19309858
Have the Storm's scanners do more in-depth scanning and analysis. Have Egon and Data go over the new sensor readings.
Send a Viper probe droid down to the lunar surface about 5 kilometers from the center of that distortion.
Have it continually send back sensor data as it approaches the crater. Have it stop at the lip of the crater and send back visual data.
>>
>>19309871

OP, what are Mara/Trevor doing as of now, according to our Observer? Are they still at the hotel?
>>
>>19309486
Oh man, I did some research, and there's even video games and light novels for this series.
We really should track down which version of the AMG Canon we're in.
>>
Regarding what canon we're from, the Gate of Judgment has apparently been used by Urd and one of the knights (Koh), and that gate has only shown up in the movie.
However, as with the Temple of Time, that's no guarantee that it's where it belongs.
>>
>>19309920
Yes, they slept in and are now getting ready for another day of being an insufferable asshole and a demoness, respectively.

>>19309893
The probe droid's communications are cut when it reaches the lip of the crater. However, they are restored the second the droid pulls back. It reports that the space around the crater began to twist into something else when it approached, but reverted to 'wavy space' when it retreated back.
>>
>>19309991
Is the probe droid able to provide any visual data of what what beyond the lip of the crater?

Should we send this probe droid further in? Or send in VP-99 or 98? We might need a Hero unit for this.
>>
>>19310032
Only a second-long recording of the space around the crater twisting into something else.
>>
>>19309991

Dang. I thought we'd be able to catch them while they were still asleep.

At any rate, they mentioned something about going to get German special ops troopers into Japan to try to help Trevor's evil neo-nazi plans along. If we do not act soon, we may have to confront them elsewhere, as they may choose to teleport back to Germany.

So, do you guys want to act now and possibly subdue Trevor and/or Mara? If we do, we may want to send down a team of White Mages (and possibly Lyla?) along with everyone else. If Mara doesn't show the usual patterns of weakness to music, we'll need some liberal application of disrupters/magic/guns to force her to surrender.
>>
>>19309991
Hm.
Mr. Data, Dr. Spengler, any thoughts on this phenomenon?
Also Mr. Quill, I believe you have experience in the field of 'weird space stuff'.
>>
>>19310055
Are we going to try and capture him, or kill him? Because if the second option, we should probably pick up Ryu Ninja, he should have karma built up.
>>
>>19310062
"It'll take a little time to go over the data, with Data, but we should be able to find something," Egon nods. "Give us an hour."

"It's probably a portal or something," Star-Lord says. "The prophecy was a place out of time, right? Maybe anything that goes into the crater gets transported to a time bubble."
>>
>>19310043
Have the Storm's sensors focus on the spatial distortions, and have Data and Egon go over the data.
Any thoughts, Star-Lord?

I vote to have the probe droid continue into the distortion for 10 minutes, then report back on what happened and what it found.

>>19310055
We might still be able to ambush them. My main concern is trying to keep Mara contained for the duration of this mission.
But trying to deal with Nazi demon-SS is even worse.

Let's catch them now. We can still go with the plan from
>>19309556
Just include SCP Troopers with Reality Disruptor Rifles, and Lyla and Elaine, as well as a group of White Mages, and a Tactical Squad of Knights, coordinated by Star-Lord.

Make sure that all non-magical personnel are equipped with cortical stacks, and that all magical personnel have ReRaise cast on them.
>>
>>19310101
Capture. He's the weakest SUE here, and if we can capture another SUE for our research, that will greatly accelerate our SUE-Cure research.

>>19310139
And don't forget the Aglaophotis-A gas grenades! They won't put down Mara, but may be enough to incapacitate.
>>
>>19310101

Trevor is a very weak SUE; the Storm's sensors could barely pick him up through all of the reality-distorting bugs. It would be simplicity itself to kill him under a reality emitter if Mara were otherwise pre-occupied, but some people suggested that he might be handy to keep around to study and/or use as bait for the Elemental Knights.

Seeing as how he's kind of dumb, he has probably made a very lop-sided contract with Mara. Killing him could end that contract.

Also; include 2 or so Psions with the away team if we decide to act now. They can cast "Dimensional Anchor" on both Trevor and Mara, preventing them from merely teleporting away when they have the chance.
>>
>>19310139

Elaine is out of commission, as she's tending to the Hero Hacker who got screwed over by a bad hacking roll. They'll be free at around day 3 or so.
>>
>>19310159
You need to actually build Aglaophotis A grenades before you can use them. Same with AA clips and Toxiguns.
>>
>>19310218
Do we need the Advanced Engineering Bay for them, or will the replicators on the Indefatigable be enough?
>>
>>19310165
That would be the 2 Nomad Psions who have the Dimensional Anchor power.

So we hit them with a reality field as the Aurors set up anti-muggle wards and the psions cast Dimensional Anchor in order to prevent Mara from escaping.
We use music, a demon ward circle, and reality disruptor rifles to disable Mara, and Spike just punches out Trevor. Virtun's luck field to be on full.
The Knights, the White Mages, Lyla, and Star-Lord are there in case something goes wrong.

Anything else we should consider?
>>
>>19310231
You need the bay. Speaking of which, it is now open, as a set of 12 Hologram Incursion Emitters is now complete.
>>
>>19310251

Imperturbable charms on the walls and doors of the hotel room; people aren't going to appreciate loud rock music blaring out from that room, and may send hotel staff and/or police to check out the disturbance. Also the screaming and stuff that will undoubtedly take place will be very suspicious if heard.
>>
>>19310284
So we should be able to construct the Aglaophotis-A gas grenades, and a few toxiguns with A-A clips by tonight, right?

Should we hold off on the plan to take out Trevor till they're back in their hotel room tonight?
>>
>>19310315

We might not know if they're going to come back to Japan anytime soon once they depart. If they do come back, they might have brought some crazed demon-infused neo-nazi troopers with them. That may complicate things later on.
>>
>>19310284
Are these Hologram Incursion Emitters sized for droids, or for vehicles and ships?

We could give one each to HK-50, VP-98, and VP-99.
>>
>>19310365
So you are voting to ambush them now?

Admittedly, the Aglaophotis-A will probably have minimal effect on Mara anyway.
I am also voting to ambush them now, by having the Aurors set up a warded ambush site picked out by Star-Lord.
>>
>>19310371
These are vehicle/small ship sized.
>>
>>19310494
>These are vehicle/small ship sized.
Hmm...
1 for the Leopard.
1 for the Mikasa.
1 for the Overlord.
2 for the Mad Cats.
1 for the Indefatigable.
We can probably find more uses as we go along.

Should we have the Engineering Bays now work on Shield Generators for the Mikasa, make some Portable Holo-Emitters, or construct Aglaophotis-A weapons?
>>
>>19310397

I'm leaning towards yes, unless the tactical minds we have on hand (i.e. Pellaeon, Star-Lord, etc.) can raise good reasons as to why we shouldn't.
>>
If there are no objections, Operation: Ragnarock and Roll will commence as outlined here: >>19310251

Since you mention Reality Disruptors, and ward circles, I assume the SCP and Abjurers are also going?

>>19310625

Yes. A pair of Al'Kesh will be providing the Capital Ship-grade reality fields, and also overwatch with their staff cannons.
>>

>>
>>19310644

The Al'kesh can be cloaked and do all of these things while cloaked, right? We ARE doing this in a fairly populated area, unless the hotel is located some distance away from the city limits.
>>
>>19310728
Yes, we are using the double roll ability.

>>19310736
Yes, it can do everything while cloaked.
What it has in utility, it loses in fragility.
Damn things can be taken out in just 2 sidewinder missiles, and that's WITH the shields up.
Go'uald engineering is worse than cheap Chinese knockoffs.
But that's also why they're so cheap, relatively speaking.
>>
Thinking about it since the last thread I got as better idea about luring our little vindicure out. We can get our reasonable marines to paint their armour black and act like chaos marines and when I mean act just chainsword shit up. We can assure the RM/KI that they don't have to use blasformous runes nor say the names of the chaos gods. That would be too much even for reasonable marines.

Another thing, if we need to make contact with the goddesses. I suggest bringing the avatar, I am sure they will like him going on about the virtues he lives his life by and if he has gone through Ultima 8 then he should be the Titian of either so he is not that helpless.

Although if he has gone through Ultima 9......
We should ask him if he knows what a paladin is.
>>
>>19310759
If we're going to use bait like that, I would suggest that we use portable holo-emitters instead of actual KI.
Why chance the loss of some valuable Knights, when we can use holograms that will have their holo-matrices backed up safely on the Indefatigable?

We know that Brett, the Vindi-SUE is stupid. But we shouldn't underestimate him.
>>
>>19310847
I don't know, I mean he does have Saiyan blood in him, and from the description Skuld gave, he doesn't seem to have a keen tactical mind.
>>
>>19310728
Wait who's talking?
Should we be ordering people now?
>>
>>19310899
>Saiyan blood in him
>he has a phase blade
He is not the kind of person we should engage in melee. That's why I'd prefer to have holograms as bait.
All a phase blade will do to a hologram is disrupt its holographic matrix. The holo-emitter can just create another one.
The phase-blade will, on the other hand, cut straight through any shielding and armor that the Knights possess.
>>

>>19310728
GEE I WONDER WHICH RESULT YOU'LL CHOOSE TO TAKE?

Damn, I would've had such fun with that 7...

The Aurors successfully set up wards around the hotel suite as your troops form up and await the go signal. An Al'Kesh, invisible and silent, hovers just above the hotel roof, bathing the area in whatever obscure energies serve to bolster reality. The signal comes and sudden the suite is alive with the sound of music, loudspeakers blasting "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" at full tilt.

"Wha-What?! You've gotta be kidding meeeeee!" Mara shouts as she uncontrollably starts to dance.

"What the fuck is this? What the hell are you doing?!" Trevor roars.

The SCP blast the door down with a plasma burst, then proceed to fan out and level Reality Disruptors at the pair as the Abjurers immediately cast wards around Mara, a Magic Circle Against Evil holding her fast. Virtun and Spike enter last, Virtun's mere presence enough to send Mara into a coughing fit, hacking and wheezing even while dancing energetically.

"You just messed with the wrong buddy, pal," Trevor says as he cracks his knuckles. The only reply he receives is a kick to the face that sends him sprawling as Spike lashes out.

"That was the worst line I have ever heard," Spike quips. "And I've been working with these guys since mission one."

Trevor pulls himself to his feet and launches himself at Spike with a feral scream.

Why do I suddenly have the mental image of a dozen power-armored soldiers dogpiling onto a single hipster teenager, their personal reality fields cancelling out whatever powers he has?
Oh right, because the SCP Troopers did just that.

Don't kill him guys! We need him alive! For now! But only mostly intact!

Use Virtun's double roll ability if another roll is required. Let's not fuck this up if we can avoid it.

Spike steps to the side and grabs Trevor as he charges past, using his own momentum to crash him into a wall. As the SUE gets up, Spike is already there, laying into the neo-nazi with a flurry of kicks and hand-strikes.

"You can't..." Trevor wheezes as blood leaks from his nose. He takes a feeble swing at Spike and is met with another fist in return that cracks a rib. Trevor falls back.

"I'm... s'posed... be best..." Trevor mumbles, finding speech difficult with his jaw busted up. "G'nna... kill you all..."

"Night, night Trevor," Spike says, delivering a final haymaker that knocks the SUE out.
>>
>>19311074
I wish I had seen this post and gone with that result. It's far more funny than Spike vs. SUE curbstomp.

The fact that it's far less effort too has nothing to do with it, really.

Well I would say that an unconscious person can't make a saving throw.
Should we have an Abjurer try casting Smoky Confinement, to make sure Trevor doesn't become a problem for the remainder of the mission?

SMOKY
CONFINEMENT
Transmutation
Level: Sorcerer/wizard 6
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude
negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
At your touch, your foe dissipates into a thick smoke, which flows smoothly into the receptacle you have prepared.
You transform the subject into smoke or gas, which is then stored inside the focus. The subject remains trapped within the focus, unaware and ageless. If the focus is everbroken or opened, the victim resumes his normal form in the same space as the focus.
Focus: A tiny receptacle, such as a bottle or vase, of crystal or a similar material worth at least 100 gp. The receptacle must be able to be sealed.
>>
Well Trevor's taken care of, but what about Mara?
>>
Yea let's get to capturing Hild and trevor now. We should ask A.N.ON what would happen to the state of Germany because it remains in its neo-nazi state the we could see trouble.

Regardless diplomatic fallout would take time, having Demon/nazis stormtroopers would be more trouble. Also ask Hild why they think these hits teams would be able to take out goddesses or their knights?
>>
>>19311075
SCP's, containment on Trevor. Let's get him up to the Containment Bay on the Storm.
Virtun, you might want to exit the room so that Mara can at least speak.
Nomad Psion, get in there and hit Mara with a Dimensional Anchor. We don't want her escaping just yet.

Now, I believe we can attempt to renegotiate Trevor's contract. Or perhaps try to break his hold on Mara.
>>
>>19311127
Mara, not Hilde.
Hilde is the Queen of Hell.
If it was Hilde, we would be dead.
>>
>>19311126
We can try to renegotiate the contract that Mara has with Trevor, but I doubt it will work, because of his SUE enthrallment.

We could see if the overlapping powerful reality fields have dampened his charm on Mara to point where she can speak without his influence.
>>
>>19311147
Given how much of a wuss this guy is, I'd think being on board our ships with their Capital Grade Reality Emitters should nullify his powers almost completely.
...I can't help but wonder if we're missing something important, like is this a trick or trap of some kind?.
>>
Wools I mean Maria, Hild would be harder to capture.
>>
Unfortunately, that's all the time I have for tonight's late night edition, but I'll be around at the usual time tomorrow, barring the collapse of the internet and installation of a Viacom-led corporate junta ruling North America.
>>
>>19311181
We can probably keep this thread alive till then.

So, how should we proceed with Mara?
We can probably keep her well contained as it is, even without negotiating on our part.
Simply keep up the wards and the Dimensional Anchor.

>>19311174
This guy was identified as the weakest SUE, and he's going to be caught within the Storm's reality emitter.
We should probably attach a couple personal reality emitters to Trevor as well, just to be sure.
>>
I agree that using the holograms is better than using actual space marines. Thinking about it, perhaps the response from Germany won't be that bad, is
not like we shot up the embassy. The response from hell is the one to watch for.

Well we should
1) Interrogate *MARIA* and try to get her to join us. If she refuses to talk to the whole "we will move Virtun in/out of the room until you do." If the purification angle doesn't doesn't work say something about we don't like the bunch of as we say 'lawful stupids' running everything and we want to shake things up, on our terms. Also mention that we want to use the goddesses as bargaining chips instead of killing them, the knights can die.

2) investigate that time distortion. Use the observer to do the 10 seconds in and get out. Then we might have to suit up and send some people over there.

3) work on trapping our Vindi-SUE. Use holograms + snipers.

4) Work on producing Aglaophotis-A gas grenades and toxicguns.

We should get rid of the S.U.E's unrelated to the goddesses first. However if Uld's can be cheaply disposed of we should take it. If we get a free Uld we could convince her to return to heaven and start debugging from there. See if she can convince Skuld to come with her.
>>
>>19312603
Okay, so, depending on if we can build the portable emitters fast enough, we can try to implement the plan to trap the Vindicare tonight.
I would like to have 3 of them readied, since they can only operate in a 2 meter area.

http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Portable_emitter

Now, that'll let us lure the Vindicare out, but how should we deal with him?
He is considerably more dangerous than Trevor, our Reality Emitters may only be enough to weaken him; he may retain much of his Saiyan combat ability.
Also, if he's been engaging Chaos Marines in melee, then it stands to reason that his melee skills have been boosted due to his Saiyan blood.

We could simply snipe him, but some people have stated that they want a non-lethal solution.
>>
>>19313617

He's a WH40K-inspired SUE. He will show us no mercy; we should reciprocate.

At the moment, I think we should only capture SUEs that we can safely subdue with little risk to our troops.

We have Trevor.. He should be plenty. The rest of the SUEs in this lynchpin are too dangerous to try and capture...

Though I would like to see if we can get his gear. If it's not SUETech stuff made to look like 40k items, then we could put stuff like an Exitus Rifle and a C'Tan Phase Blade to serious work. If it IS SUETech, then we hurl it into a distant star. No need to give anyone ideas.

At this point, I think we can pretty much safely kill the other SUEs, as long as we can sneak them away from the Goddesses somehow. The bigger issue is the UNFORSEEN CONSEQUENCES. We... We may have goofed. Badly.

>mfw I realized how badly we potentially just goofed with Keiichi
>>
I think the Vindcare-Saiyan SUE is too much or a risk to capture.
While the Avatar and Philemon seem to >imply that killing isn't always the answer, I don't want a Vindicare-SUE-Saiyan near our shit.

Farseers should Doom him, we lure him out to some remote place with Holograms of chaos marines doing some whatever.
Have some Reality Emitters near the area, of course.
We snipe him, and have a barrage of artillery or lasers-from-heaven ready to end him if the sniping proves ineffective.

The other SUEs, I'm not sure.
I know damn well that their relationship with the Gods of the setting is trouble for us, but if we can break that, then the Canon is going to rebel against them pretty harshly.
Of course we could just kill them, I suppose.
>>
Well there is one thing. I don't know if canonically this got changed as you can never tell with the changing DBZ rules but it has been stated in the Freza saga that sayans cannot breath is space. If we attached a transponder onto him we can teleport him into space and he will afixate.

The only problem is how. Perhaps we can use the BLU spy disguised as a normal citizen? If things go wrong he can respawn.

Oh and it also has been revealed that the goddess's true forms are more in line with Eldritch Abominations thenehat we have been looking at for 20 years. So I had the silly idea of using that mirror on the goddesses to scare the goddess knights away.
>>
>>19311075

Hmm, we've got ourselves a wedge to drive into the problem now.

If we take what we know from purging Morisato and cross-compare it to whatever filthy SUE-power is running through Trevor here, we might be able to find some common "bonds" holding these SUEs to their extraordinary abilities.

Then check and see if those bonds exist in what's keeping the OMG! canon types locked into following along with the distortion effect that has this whole scenario running now. If so, we might be able to properly tune our emitters for greater effect. Specific ECM, rather than a more broad-spectrum but lower-powered approach.
>>
>>19313957

>K1 mind control broken
>ALL OF IT (divine or otherwise)

That could be a big issue later on. Hopefully, we'll just be able to resolve it with "Oops, sorry about that. Could you just re-apply it and call it good?"

I have a feeling that there are some personnel who would have a problem with this, though. Not to mention that we may have accidentally broken canon due to poor intel.
>>
>>19314214
That's actually a good idea. I suggest we try that.
One of my ideas is that S.U.E have a parasitic nature with canon, if that is true that all the S.U.E's here will share one common thing. Not sure what it is yet.
>>
>>19314305
People I can think of are Agrias, Cheryl, and the Avatar.
And while Keiichi may not have known about the seal, it may very well have been a hidden requirement (fine print of the contract) for Belldandy to stay with him.

Also, with his death, wouldn't the contact already be broken, and they need to re-do the contract? As I recall the original contract had death as one of the conditions which can end the contract.

>>19314214
I don't believe that's how reality emitters function, but you can give it a try.
Just make sure to use Virtun's double roll ability so you don't destroy the navigational dish on the Indefatigable or something when we get a critical failure.
>>
>>19314305

Hush we are not supposed to know that. The in-metaverse excuse is that archives are supposed are outdated. People probably got sloppy due to the authors habit of aways returning to status quo, or corruption and mismanagement. Whatever floats your boat.
>>
>>19314373
Our on-board databases, maybe. But with the Meta-Comm Array, we can get an update on new Canon developments.
>>
>>19314339

His wish was for a goddess like Belldandy to stay by his side forever. No caveats. Death doesn't nullfiy the contract.
>>
Well on other things there is something about that time distortion that I find odd. Being trapped in a time bubble together doesn't quite fit the whole 'forced to live apart' thing.
>>
>>19314525

We initially assumed that the Judgement Gate, when used by incompatible persons, goes "NOPE!" and freezes both people in some sorta time-stasis. Divine artifacts being dicks to people who shouldn't be using them in the first place, etc. etc.

With the discovery of this time-bubble, though, things may be a bit more complicated than we initially thought. The wiki article for the gate states "Those that past through the gate and emerge on the otherside together will see there love embodied in utopian setting", and that those who pass through the gate with doubt or distrust in their hearts will be separated for their lifetimes. It's entirely possible that the SUE compulsion could have technically fulfilled the letter of the law regarding the Judgment Gate (but not the spirit of it), and that Urd and the other knight are living in some sort of isolated pocket of time. Or something went horribly wrong and both of them are getting screwed over by divine artifacts being dicks to people who try to cheat the requirements.
>>
>>19314339

Nah. It can be tested indirectly on a third distortion, given sufficient data from the first two we've dealt with. We don't even have to "test it" by hitting another SUE directly- just overlay the focused emitter's area of effect onto something under the effect of SUE influence and see if there's a different (more positive) result vs. a regular, broad-spectrum one. Mara might be an excellent choice- we can contain her by other methods as it stands, and can see if a focused-spectrum reality emitter will provide more relief than our usual "bigger is better" approach to the subject. And of course, she's available right now.

And a distrubing thought- most SUEs are incredibly weak when sufficient reality is injected. What horrid power in the Metaverse do they connect to in order to have such obscene effects on the Canons they attach themselves to?
>>
>>19315067
That or most SUEs are pretty weak compared to canon beings who mutate into powerful distortions.
>>
>>19315067
>What horrid power in the Metaverse do they connect to in order to have such obscene effects on the Canons they attach themselves to?
Human imagination, arrogance, pride, desire, and hubris.
>>
>>19314829
Actually, before we send the Probe Droid into the time-bubble, we should have it equipped with a Federation tricorder. We'll want to check to see if there's an overly large concentration of chronitons, and the droid may need to be protected with a chroniton field to not be trapped by the time-bubble.
>>
>>19316579

If we really wanted to go low-tech, we could get a space-camcorder or something and attach it to a low-cost spaceworthy droid. Or get said droid and get a LOT of rope and tie said camcorder-like device to it and lower it into the rift.
>>
>>19318167
Well, yes, but we need to know what the time differential is between the outside and the inside, and if we can even go inside without getting caught by the time distortion.
Actually, this reminds me that the emergency transporter armbands that are part of all Federation emergency kits incorporate Type-7 Phase Discriminators and Subspace Emitters, and can be used to generate a subspace isolation field that can protect the wearer from temporal differentials.

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Emergency_transporter_armband
http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Subspace_isolation_field

Since it was Data that suggested the initial modifications, he can probably make the necessary changes to an emergency transporter armband, and we can equip the probe droid with it.
>>
What's better than working overtime? Working overtime in the rain!

Anyway, present. WAT DO
>>
>>19319153
Okay.
First, have the engineers begin on a run of Portable Holo-Emitters, that we will use in our trap for the Vindicare.

Second, have Data modify an Emergency Transporter Armband as described here >>19318411
Put the modified armband on a Viper Probe Droid, along with a tricorder set to detect chroniton activity, and have it enter the time distortion on the Moon's surface.

Third, begin analysis of the energy harmonics in Mara, and attempt to isolate the SUE-introduced reality distortion frequency, per this >>19314214
>>
rolled 28, 45 = 73

>>19319294
Analysis of Mara commences as the probe droid (generic or one of your heroes?) vanishes into the time anomaly.
>>
>>19319396
I'd say generic, just in case.

Don't want to lose one of the good ones.
>>
>>19319396
Generic, just in case.
If it's safe, then we'll send VP-99.
>>
>>19319396
The analysis of Mara is progressing very slowly. It's unknown how long it will take to complete, and if it will produce any usable data.

You probably should've given the probe droid some orders beyond "Go into the time distortion." As it stands, communications are cut off as with the Observer.
>>
>>19319454
>You probably should've given the probe droid some orders beyond "Go into the time distortion."
Eh? But we did, it was supposed to scan the area inside, get chronometric readings, and then return after 10 minutes.
>>
A thought:

I wonder how the Echo of the Blackbird would react to the time bubble. Since the ship itself is stable enough to be modified and fly through dimensional/actual space yet still also timey-wimey, it may react differently than normal vessels would. Whether this means that it has protection against time shenanigans or it will disintegrate on contact is unknown.
>>
>>19319454

The orders for the probe droid were contained in this post, some ways back:

>>19310139

Anyhow, should we attempt communication with Mara? She did not appear to be under Trevor's influence, due to her arguing with him and not slavishly attending to his every need.
>>
>>19319475
We should get chronometric readings first, and run a simulation.
>>

>>19319473
You probably should've given MetaQuest OP a new pair of glasses. As it stands, he can't read.

10 minutes later, the probe droid exits the crater and transmits its findings. Upon entering the distortion, it was transported to a barren plane of empty space and floating rocks. The only landmass within contained a massive gateway, before which two forms stood, stone still.
>>
>>19319541

BANISHED, TO THE NETHER!

Well, at least they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. And we know that psionic machines designed by the Protoss are A-OK to enter and/or leave the time bubble at will.

Let's experiment a bit more with the properties of the time bubble. I think that we should send in a generic Viper probe droid with a tricorder, and a airtight box with a squirrel or other small animal in it (with sufficient air supply). Have the droid enter the bubble, take readings with the tricorder, and observe how the squirrel reacts to being inside the bubble for about 15 minutes.
>>
>>19319541
Dump all of the sensory data from the tricorder and the probe's memory into ANON for analysis.

We need positive ID's on those figures. Also, what was the rate of time flow inside the distortion? How effective was the subspace isolation field in protecting the droid from the results of the time distortion?

As for Mara, we can stop with the rock music, and Virtun can leave the room.

Do our engineers have an estimated completion time for the portable holo-projectors? We had asked for an initial run of 3 projectors.
>>
>>19319583

Can the Observer plot out a route to reach the two figures and return to report within 10 minutes? We could send it back and get a better picture of who the two frozen figures are. It could also scan for weird energy signatures, etc. etc.
>>
That's kinda interesting.

If this is mangaverse, that gate shouldn't exist.
Can we sense a distortion around it?
>>
>>19319599
ETC: Half a day. The figures were difficult to make out at a distance, but enough was seen to make the preliminary assumption they were one of the SUEs and Urd. The armband allowed the probe droid to move freely, though it did not allow it to transmit information back or maintain communications.

>>19319583
With or without armband?
>>
>>19319656
>though it did not allow it to transmit information back or maintain communications.
That means that we need to use a subspace isolation field if we don't want to get dragged into the temporal distortion's time-flow.

Any probe we send into the time distortion is to be equipped with a modified Emergency Transporter Armband. Then we can work on the experiments.
>>
>>19319719
The squirrel reacts by being frozen still, not even breathing until it is taken out of the bubble once more.
>>
>>19319656

With armband. We can observe the effects of the time distortion on the open container and squirrel once it leaves the armband's protective field.
>>
>>19319735

Interesting. So organic life can be handled safely within the distortion field (at least if the handler has one of the armbands). Have the Viper droid experiment a bit more. See how the time-lost squirrel reacts to injury having a small pebble thrown at it at nonlethal speeds.

Should we see how weapons react while inside the bubble?
>>
>>19319735
Send VP-99 and VP-98 into the time distortion with tricorders and modified Emergency Transporter Armbands. Have them get readings from the SUE and Urd, and see if the reality distortion is still strong with the SUE.

As to how to deal with this:
We can attempt to place reality emitters on the both of them, and see if we can take them out of the time distortion. Perhaps take out the SUE, and once he has been neutralized, take out Urd.
>>
>>19319790

That is, observe the effects of injury on the squirrel remotely while it's frozen, then see if any resultant injuries crop up once it returns to a normal time field.
>>
Don't forget that we still have the unconscious Trevor and Mara contained in the hotel room.

Do we want to beam Trevor up to a holding cell/tank festooned with reality emitters? Do we want to ask Mara any questions while she's dancing like she's never danced before and hacking/coughing/sneezing at the same time?
>>
While we have the chance, we should seal Mara with the same spell we sealed Trevor with. All we need to do is leave it laying somewhere when we're done and she'll get released by some moron.

Also, if you want to chat, we got a couple people in vent.
>>
>>19319882
Trevor we take up in an Al'Kesh, escorted by a half-dozen SCP's and half of the Tactical KI squad, all with their Reality Emitters set to max.
I don't want to take the chance that the dematerialization process could interfere with the reality fields.

For Mara, turn off the music and have Virtun stay outside the room so we can begin questioning her.

Ask her about the military buildup among the demons.
>>
>>19319935
IRC, I mean.
>>
The pebble hits the squirrel in the head, leaving a small bump.

"Turn off that damn music first!" Mara howls as she tries to dance wildly within the confines of the Magic Circle Against Evil.

Trevor makes it to the Storm's Containment Bay without issue.

>>19319935
We should wait to have her sealed until we have our questions answered, and our research completed.

What's going with the militarization of the demons? Why is Hel about to go to war with Heaven?

Numbskulls, eh?

"Now, Mara. Let's explain something here, now that we've got you all to ourselves here. The Doublet System going into failure? The Three Sisters going all googly-eyed over those twitty Knights? That dorky wuss with the retro German fetish, Trevor?"

"Someone introduced a big-time bug into the System, Mara. You won't get your sea of blood, a proper Armageddon, any of it. They want all the souls Hell properly is owed, and Heaven's too- and figure you're all so googly-eyed with your newfound "freedom" that you'll never notice it all getting stolen until it's too late."

"We're here to get to the sources of the bug and remove it- the changes that happened when people like Trevor here showed up out of nowhere. You're going to help us. Or we're going to have to put Dragonforce's Greatest Hits on replay with a nuclear-powered battery player and you can boogie your way through eternity while you miss out on the REAL fun."
>>
>>19320281
"You can feel it, can't you? Of course you can, while you're within our area of effect. You're an extra-dimensional being, so it's not perfect.
"There are rules that bind us, just like they bind you. So don't bother asking who we are.
"But you've already seen us, so it's too late to deny our existence.
"We're an Agency. Our affiliation doesn't concern you. But what does, is that certain errors have been introduced into the system. Errors that you can feel, but are still powerless to fight against.
"So, here's the terms of the contract..."

And now we should consider what terms we should lay out.
>>
>>19320300

Containment, put "Through the Fire and Flames" on deck. Continual replay, on my specific command. Mistress Mara, I think you'll find it very appropriate for all the mayhem you'll miss if you're...unfriendly towards our inquiries.
>>
>>19320359

Contracts with demons is a bad idea to start with. While she's no Baatezu, you can probably be sure that there will be an encyclopedic amount of fine print to go through at the very least.

And we don't need to mention who we are, either.
>>
>>19320429
Of course we don't mention who we really are. But we need to identify ourselves as some Agency that she has to deal with on a professional level, rather than as just mortals she can try to swindle.

How's this for our cover story:
"Mara...you never heard of us because you never had to, and anyone who has heard of us, knows to not get our attention. We are the Accountants, and we've been called in because there's been some indiscretions."

http://youtu.be/2TQKVmQctSo
>>
>>19320429
Alright, if we don't sign a contact, then we just keep her contained here.
But we still need more information from her, such as HOW the Doublet System is broken. We need to know in order to try to fix it. Also, WHEN it broke, so that we can create a timeline of events and try to plan accordingly.

>>
>>19320599
Have her scanned, see if the reality distortion indicating SUE enthrallment is still affecting her.

"As I said, there are errors, inconsistencies, introduced into the system. You can feel them now, because of us, but you are powerless to fight against them.
"Now, please, for all our sakes, answer our questions.
"WHEN did the Doublet System break down, and HOW did it happen?"
>>
>>19320646
It is not affecting her any longer.

"I don't know HOW it broke, weren't you listening?!" Mara snaps. "As for when... why should I tell you?"
>>
>>19320667
Because the fact that it's been broken means that there is nothing stopping the Goddesses or their Knights from killing you permanently.

I don't think you want that.
>>
>>19320599

That was what happens when we get a chance to isolate you from the rampant system errors. We've got a Virtual Reality box set up here that's keeping the System from infecting you further with that nasty bug and we've just managed to purge most of it from you.

We're the Tiger Team- or TG for short. When Someone decided to hack Heaven and Hell into this major a malfunction, they called us in to help fix the problem. Someone thought you were one of the most important keys to getting inside and taking all the Almighty's toys, and if you're willing to work with us to repair this, a whole lot of bad karmic return will be yours to deliver on the ones who stole your mind for their petty whims. Someone who dared to suborn one of the greatest powers of Hell...and for what? Tell us what's been happening to you, Mara.
>>
>>19320667
"Hmn...uncooperative. Unfortunate, but not unexpected. You have a choice here, Mara. You can cooperate with our investigation, and stay here in relative comfort.

It happened about a month or two ago. There was a wave of massive system failures in both Yggdrasil and Niddhogg. As everything was crashing into chaos, those Goddess Knights and Trevor popped up, along with one other character of note, some assassin called Brett. Anyway, the minute they showed up, things went haywire in a different way... but no one seemed to notice! The Doublet System crashed for some reason, portals to other worlds started appearing, and huge swathes of both Yggdrasil and Niddhogg were being spontaneously rewritten!"

Mara growls and smashes her fist into one palm. "Ooooh! I just remembered some of the stuff that Trevor wimp made me do. I don't mind the rampant misery causing, but..." Mara shakes her head. "If I get ahold of him... Hey... What'd you do with him, anyway?"
>>
>>19320667
Perhaps we can arrange a deal of sorts.
Specifically I want your memories from one day before the doublet system broke down, until now.
And when I say I want your memories, I mean as in 'they will no longer be in your head'.
>>
>>19320777
Did we cast that spell or not?
In any case "we captured him and brought him to our headquarters, where we will proceed to do science to him, to understand how he works. Chances are high that the process will be quite painful."
>>
>>19320791
Never mind about this, if she's being cooperative and all.
>>
>>19320777
We've captured him. We're going to erase him from existance. This will send the remnants of his soul to the void, a place where he will never know peace.

After we erase him, none of the stuff he did to you will have ever happened.
>>
>>19320777
>Trevor
"There are some fates worse that death, Mara. Some things that can be done, where simple oblivion would be preferable. I do not foresee his death to be quick, or painless.
"A month ago...yes. That fits within our timeline. The Doublet System...hasn't anyone attempted to re-initialize it rather than go to war?
"What information do you have on the knights?"
>>
>>19320777

Let's just say that he'll be very acquainted with unfettered science very soon.

Did what you say earlier about Hel gearing up for all-out war really true? Even though the Doublet system was compromised, there should be some reluctance to anger the authorities in Heaven and Hel that would be opposed to such open conflict.
>>
>>19320830
>>19320860
We need to have these answered: why the Doublet System isn't being restarted, why the upper powers aren't interfering, and all info that Mara has about the knights.
>>
>>19320906

Alright, then. The other questions can be resolved later on.
>>
>>19320906
Mara stops, blinking. "I'm... not sure. You'd really think SOMEONE would've noticed by now... Uh, as for the knights..."

Mara then goes on for some time about the knights. It's what you already know for the most part, but she does bring up something interesting. Tavin keeps Peorth sequestered and safe, but does not actively participate in battles, unlike the rest of the SUEs, despite him being a goddess knight. He does, however, defend himself and Peorth if attacked. Mara also notes that the demons leave Brett alone, as he seems to be preoccupied with "foreigner demons" from portals. Those of Niflheim believe it's easier to just let both the portals and Brett occupy each other for the most part.
>>
>>19321063
"Thank you for your cooperation, Mara."

Guys, should we allow her to go back and attempt to reboot the Doublet System? Or is she too untrustworthy?
>>
>>19321160

We should at least ask her if Hel preparing for war is true or not. And if it is true, how long she estimates before the conflict begins in earnest.

We only have a deadline of 3 days or so, but it never hurts to ask about this type of information, I say.

While Mara is an untrustworthy demon by nature, her thirst for revenge upon the goddess knights and Trevor may stay her from mucking about in our affairs. I'm leaning towards yes, but we should get some other input first.
>>
>>19321063
"Then can we agree that it is in everyone's best interests for the Doublet System to be re-initialized and for it to come back online?
"We cannot guarantee that the higher powers are unaffected. In fact, we suspect that they have been infected just as you were. If a war actually happens, then it won't be Hel or Heaven that wins, but the ones that created this situation in the first place."
>>
>>19321300
>We should at least ask her if Hel preparing for war is true or not.
Didn't she just say that? Like, right here:
>>19320281
>but who cares? Ragnarok is nigh! The Daimakaicho will rule the earth and no one can stop us!
>>
>>19321319
Mara growls in frustration.

"Yeah... Yeah, I guess it would be best."
>>
>>19321402
I believe we have to let Mara go so that she can attempt to re-initialize the Doublet System and avert this war.
Anyone voting against?
>>
>>19321447
Let's do it. Keep Mara under surveillance though.
>>
>>19321447
Might as well.
I mean I'm certain that, regardless of what else is going on, Hilde is powerful enough to already be aware of our presence.
And maybe with the war averted, Heaven and Hel can focus on Yggdrasil being fucked.
>>
>>19321447

I'm a bit reluctant to release such a powerful demon back into the world, but she doesn't seem to bear us any particular malice.

I'm leaning towards yes, although we might want to consult with our wiser personnel. While not all of them may be experienced with dealing with deities, they have probably known such people throughout their lifetimes.
>>
>>19321510
>keep an eldritch abomination of a demon that takes a human form only because it's bound by certain rule under surveillance.
How? She's an extremely powerful demon, regardless of the handicaps she places on herself because it's fun.
>>
I'll agree with sending her to reboot the Doublet system. Someone needs to do it, and she knows the language better than we do.

We need to get rid of the other SUEs.
>>
You release Mara from the circle and she immediately flies off with a hoot of joy.

With Trevor accounted for and his control over Mara shattered, you're one step closer to mission completion.
>>
>>19321641
Now, the goddess knight with Urd is interesting. We should be able to drag them out and neutralize the SUE and break the control on Urd while they're within the time distortion.

We could set up a Magic Circle Against Good, and use it to trap Urd until she can break herself free of the SUE's control.
>>
>>19321674
But what if she taps into her demonic powers?
>>
>>19321690
Shouldn't matter. She'd still have the Good subtype as long as she is part goddess.
>>
>>19321674

Seeing as the SUE is frozen in place, and the Squirrel that was time-stopped showed injury after being hit by a pebble that the Viper droid tossed at it... this could possibly lead to a very easy takedown of the time-frozen SUE.

We could unleash a storm of DAKKA that could make an Ork proud and possibly obliterate him. But there is a chance that firing weapons and such could interfere with the time-lock; in addition, there may be some sort of taboo with firing weapons or delivering lethal blows in such a divine realm (even if it is a crapsack wasteland meant for eternal exile).

Or we could see if we can Mirror-of-Truth the SUE while he's time-frozen. Although getting close enough to the SUE without the armband affecting him might be tricky.
>>
So I'm not sure I get the situation with the Goddess Knight (Koh, I believe his name is).
What's stopping us from just sending in robots to kill him when he's frozen?
>>
>>19321690
We could just drag the SUE out first, imprison/kill him, and the pull Urd out.

Does Urd count as an extraplanar being here? maybe we could bind her as such instead of using alignment-based defenses?
>>
>>19321801
We could.

Some people were arguing that we shouldn't follow our regular protocol of terminating SUE's because Philemon and the Avatar think that we should not kill, and that this Canon's karmic balance may come and bite us for doing assassination wetwork.

But if you look at what was done to Keiichi by the forces of Heaven, and maintained by Belldandy, I don't think the forces of Karmic balance are as concerned about right or wrong as much as what is most expedient.
>>
>>19321846
Plus the Almighty himself tried to erase Keiichi from existence, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a 'test'.
...Although it might be a 'do as I say, not as I do' kind of situation.
>>
>>19321846
Man, that new chapter really changed things didn't it?

It appears that there's no real karmic force, but rather the goddesses monitor events and intervene based on their own judgements. In such a case, we're free to kill the SUEs because their actions won't hold on us once we leave.
>>
I don't know, if we can capture and imprison Koh without risking the lives of our troops, I think we should at least try.
But only if doesn't mean losing our soldiers, I'm not giving Koh's life that much value.
>>
Well, he's already nullified, and capturing SUEs is a huge boost to our R&D. Could we put some kind of permanence charm on his stone form so that removing him doesn't free him?
>>
>>19321931
...Maybe have a Securitron try lifting Koh and bringing him near the edge of the time-stopped area, and then bring down an Abjurer and/or Auror to see if their spells can pierce the distortion?
>>
>>19321931
We could attempt an inverse subspace isolation field with a chroniton generator set to send out a phase variance pulse and interfere with the SUE's chronometric wave signature, to keep it trapped in time.
>>
>>19321971
The forbidden power of Treknobabble?
I like your style.
Mr. Data, make it so.
...Assuming that what was just said was possible or even coherent.
>>
>>19321971
>>19322063

We should also get the three Gurus in on this. Balthasar in particular, since timey-wimey stuff is his specialty amongst the three.
>>
>>19322132

Er, I mean Gaspar. I keep forgetting that this Balthasar isn't the Chrono Cross iteration.
>>
>>19321964

At this time, we do not know if a robot can safely maneuver inside the time distortion field without the armband. Although we can certainly try with a spare droid, seeing as how we can merely drag it out of the time bubble to "revive" it.

But... But that...

>okay.jpg

Data, Egon, Dr. Cossack, and the three Ghostly Gurus all put their heads together to make the suggestion of the surprisingly scientific Command Crew member a reality. They do... that thing you said, surrounding the SUE with a small array of complicated supertech devices. With great trepidation, a pair of SCP troops haul the frozen SUE outside the time bubble... and find it remains frozen.

You gain: Time Lost Koh.
>>
>>19322313
...Well that's... that I guess.
Now what should we do with Urd?
Like should we just... leave her there until we're done here?
>>
>>19322280

To be fair, theirs only seems to be running one universe simulation. With the amount of bullshitium at our disposal, it really isn't a fair fight. Hell. We are just the mobile platform. I am sure the TG has a couple pocket universes/planes solely dedicated to computational needs. They probably cast haste on them while speeding up the timelines inside them for good measure. Why just overclock the computers when you can overclock TIME ITSELF. We do what we must because we can.
>>
>>19322347
Leave Urd until we bring the SUE into containment and negate its corruption on her.

Once Urd is free of the taint, we can un-stone her.
>>
>>19322397
The SUE is brought into containment without any issues.
>>
>>19322410
...Alright then.
Now how do we move Urd?
Should the Viper Droid just kind of... drag her?
>>
>>19322347

Urd won't be going anywhere as you said... but defrosting her may prove helpful to our efforts later on. Urd is knowledgeable about the inner workings of Yggdrasil, and very familiar with potions and enchantments that deal with mind-altering effects (i.e. love potions that pretty much inspire SUE-compulsion and affection). Amongst the sisters, she also has the most control over her power. If we were to free her, she might be able to make significant headway in restarting the Doublet system. She is also Hild's daughter, and may be able to use that connection to our advantage.

On the other hand, she's very much impulsive and reckless. She might try to lend us "assistance" when we're attempting to deal with the SUEs controlling her sisters.
>>
Oh great, why do I have to run with GMT.
I think it's best that we only capture Trevor alive. The rest can be murderdeathkill because they are too powerful.
Well this time bubble only seems to effect organic life.
One easy way to kill the S.U.E is the take him outside the bubble (perhaps using a pair of securitions to drag him out) into a reality field and let him axfixate (sp?) then go back for Uld. One useful thing when dealing with Uld is that classical/traditional japanese music causes her to fall asleep. It's not going to help us one the moon but it is something we should file away.
>>
>>19322436

Couldn't we just armband her and talk to her through the probe? Hell, just a prerecorded message would work.

"Hello! You were frozen in time due to an unexpected error in the system. Please follow the droid to the nearest exit. We will contact you once you have entered normal space time. Thank you and have a pleasant day."

I thought the point of the technobabble roll was to keep the SUE in stasis once he was out of the field?
>>
>>19322491

Also, do teleporters work in the time dead zone? What is to stop us from just tagging all the SUES discretely with transponders and then simultaneously transporting them to the affected area. If we can't get them in, just get them to the edge and have a "push" waiting. Low impact, no casualties and we get our samples alive.
>>
>>19322491
>>19322436

We should first see if we can manage a way to scan her for reality distortions if she's in the field. Or barring that, see if we can drag her into a circle of "Protection against Good" to keep her contained in case she's still under the effects of SUE-compulsion.

Remember guys, we've seen that the effects of SUE compulsion continue regardless if the SUE dies or is otherwise knocked out (i.e. the Royal Pain and Trevor).
>>
>>19322522
...Huh.
I don't know, Treknobabble is even more unreliable than magic.
We'd probably have to make individual rolls.
>>
>>19322550

I wonder if we could play it off as us getting a team together to fix the incursions from hell. Play up to the knights hubris and tell them we are going to transport them to the other dimension directly to save the element of surprise. We keep the cover of being from an "Agency" and may even get them to effectively hang themselves. The real issue at this point is seeing how long the after effects last with Urd. If we can figure out how to dispel those now, the rest of the plan should work.
>>
>>19322589
Good old-fashioned trickery? I like the sound of that.
>>
>>19322603

The beauty of this is we already have proof that we are trying to "debug" the system thanks to Ryu. We can even have Skuld confirm that.

Mmmmm....Karma.
>>
We should take the time frozen to the ship as see how we can unfreeze him while surrounded by reality emitters. Also we don't really have to talk to him and can imettitly space him as soon as we can negate the time thing.

I think it's safe to leave Urd there as the gate doesn't let you go "it was all a mistake!" If we change our minds/Koh dies we take her to our base instead of the ship into a circle that protects against good.
>>
>>19322633
So how should we play this?
Should we try and convince all four remaining targets to join forces because removing the source of this chaos, which will be found on the moon, is dependent on them? (Technically, this is completely true)
>>
>>19322633
We already transported Koh, and until we do more science to him, he is stably frozen in place.
>>
>>19322716
Meant for >>19322681
>>
>>19322633

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but we need to remember about how we resolved the incident with Skuld on Day 1.

Though Skuld agreed not to tell the Comasato bros. about us so far (and it's only been a day since that incident with her), remember that she has told Belldandy about our presence. Though Bell appears to be a trusting sort, she may have told the Knights about us, being an upstanding and honest goddess. Or she might have thought that Skuld was just being really imaginative again.

On that note, has Doug and the Delta Greens' stakeout yielded any useful information, OP?
>>
>>19322681

Whoa, easy there. I don't want this Sue defrosted until it is absolutely necessary (if ever). I would rather ship Trevor over there with his convoy of reality emitters and guards for experiments than accidentally fumble with a powerful Sue that is already FULLY CONTAINED due to time stasis.

The priority needs to be finding a way to free Urd from the effects of the Sue first. Which means figuring out a way to get the sensors working inside the distortion OR getting her out of the distortion (risky).
>>
>>19322681
Well I'm pretty sure we tricked Skuld into thinking that, aside from having issues with disrespecting the privacy of others, we're good people.
So her telling Belldandy is if anything a good thing.
>>
The All Under Heaven has its own Meta Drive right?
Would it be possible to just have it make a small jump to an adjacent canon, with Koh and Trevor on board?
In theory, it should produce the same result as killing Koh.
>>
>>19322734

Fair enough, but wouldn't that already build our credibility rather than hurt it?

Assuming they are aware of us, I thought all we told Skuld was that we were here to fix the source of the bugs in the system and asked her to keep things quiet until we had a chance to assess the situation. Well, we assessed it and found that the best solution is a targeted strike to key location in Hel. Any movement by the knights will get their attention, so we have to use other methods. Goddess can come as well (dunno if our tech works with them or not). We would have to have contingencies in place for either condition along with back up plans for the inevitable bad dice rolls. If we could get Mara in on this by providing some more intel to build our credibility, all the better. I doubt she would say no to tricking the goody-two shoes goddesses.

We already have a frozen goddess and a frozen Sue to prove that they are not immune to the fields. We just have to get them in there in the first place.
>>
>>19322681

I am also of the opinion that the SUE should stay frosty until the end of all time. Or at the very least until we get around to fully researching the SUE-cure. He's effectively mission-killed now, we just need to apply our brainpower to thinking of ways of bypassing the time distortion to reach Urd, or using it to our advantage.
>>
Well the king is that if we unfreeze Uld the problem is that she can still be under his influence. Then again they tried to go pass the gate of judgement and it found their love..... wanting.

Seeing how we freed Maria by pointing out how illogical the situation we can do the same here.

1) Didn't you find it odd that Keiichi just broke up with Belldandy after all they have been through.

2) Isn't it strange that the 'great force' or that thing that keeps wishes going hasn't tried to interfere

3) Why did you guys just back up and leave?

4) Maria just managed to walz up to heaven and imprison god or kami or whatever you call him. Do you really think she would be able to do that?

The alternatives are that the gate has completely cut her off from Koh and she is in a 'and I must scream' situation. The only other thing is that both of them are in a Lotus-Eater Machine i.e. trapped in a dream world,
>>
The fact I just feel asleep at my keyboard means it's time for me to turn in.

>>
>>19323185

>>
>>19323217
Into dreams, young one.

Always into dreams.
>>
>>19322804
The problem is that Mara was able to break from the enthrallment only because Trevor was the weakest of the SUE's (and had a correspondingly weak reality distortion signature) and because of an extremely high roll. There is absolutely no assurance that the goddesses could break free from control even if we bathed them in multiple reality fields.

Also, Mara is currently out of communication because we sent her to attempt to re-initialize the Doublet System.
>>
>>19324137

Mara didn't seem entirely compliant with Trevor, as she managed to argue a lot with him despite being under his influence. It might be that SUEs can exert compulsion on any canon being, but the strength of that compulsion depends on how strong the SUE can distort reality in relation to the canon being's power.
>>
>>19325890
And Tevor didn't have shit for power, except for those short bursts late at night.
>>
>>19326330
That kind of makes me curious as to what makes him a SUE instead of just a shitty OC?
I mean, he didn't seem to have a lot going for him.
>>
>>19326372
He still caused reality distortions, still enthralled Mara and made her do things against her will, caused a resurgence of Nazism in Germany, and was well on the way to making Nazi Demon SS battalions before we captured him.
