The year is 2025.

Your name is Dave, and you didn't ask for this.
Once a generic white-collar worker who lived alone save for your cat, you were hit by a car and spent three months in a coma. You awoke to find that your unconscious body had been taken in by the corporation 'Emulsified Electronics', and implanted with an experimental augmentation. You soon found that it allowed you to control electronic devices with your mind. You quickly became embroiled in corporate warfare, fighting the PMC ArmaTek and their employers, Cadmium Dynamics, and there have been incidents with a corp named Kawasagi Infinite. You were recently kidnapped by a group calling itself Resurgence, who claims they're Saving The World. In retaliation, you went all the way to Antarctica, where you took over one of Resurgence's facilities. You're currently hiding out in your heavily guarded facility, Valhalla, doing your best to arm up and seek out information on Resurgence.

>You have 50000 credits.
>You have 1 fate reroll.
>>
<Dave.> Abel's message says. <I have a message from Sigma. Lucca is. . Lucca's hunting you down. According to Sigma, he's never seen her this angry before.>

<Lucas is dead. KI are starting an investigation, but. . Omega and Lucca are both gone, and so is Lucas' gear.> Abel continues.
>>
>>19199047
<He's dead? Damn.
But what does this have to do with me?>

<I have a feeling that our friends from Resurgence might be behind this. I have doubts that they would try destroy all corps solely using brute force. Subversion and making your enemies fight each other seems more like their shtick.>
>>
Leak our location to her. Have Talos working defense n standby, but let her into Valhalla. We'll try to talk it out, but just in case this goes sour, have Talos ready to assist us in putting her down. We can take her, certainly, but we don't want another Templar on our hands.
>>
<Talos, work defense.> You say.
<Already on it, sir.> Talos responds.

<He's dead? Damn. But how does this have to do with me?> You send over the dropbox.
<I've no clue, Dave.> Abel responds. <Sigma's doing his best to get the security records, but he has a bit of red tape to go through.>
<I have a feeling that our 'friends' from Resurgence might be behind this. I have doubts that they'd destroy all corps solely using brute force. Subversion and making your enemies fight eachother seems more like their shtick.>
<That does make sense.> He responds. <They're not that combat-capable, from what I know. Except for that gunship that vanished to god-knows-where.>

"Lucas is dead?" Amy asked, reading the terminal over your shoulder. "But- But how? Was. . was it. . ."
>>
>>19199077
<How did he die? It wasn't from his injuries from the fight, was it?>
>>
<Daedalus, new mission: seek information on KI's agent Lucas. Priority: his last days alive and afterwards. Look for anything out of place.>
<Cyan, Azure, assist him in this task as best as you can.>
>>
<How did he die? It wasn't his injuries from the fight, was it?>
<He was recovering, and had regained consciousness. Everything seemed like he was going to be okay.> Abel said. <But then they found his throat slit by monomolecular blades.>
"Oh god."
<Dave. . Sigma has some bad news.> Abel said. <The footage is of you, slashing him open with your mechandrites, after some kind of argument. I have to ask. . >
>>
>>19199118
<At what time and date did it happen?>
>>
>>19199118
Other than the mission against CD I've been in Alaska the whole time.
>>
>>19199143
Maybe we were sleepwalking? Haha... ha... ha......
No one can take over Bullfrog, right? right?

anyway, we can check our own memories
>>
<Other than the mission against CD, I've been in Antarctica the entire time.> You say.
<I believe you.> Abel says. <So does Grayson and Sigma; they're here with me. But Omega and Lucca are. . I don't know where they are. It seems that Omega has his stealth function running.>

You close your eyes, and think. .
<Azure, were we here the entire time? I didn't like.. leave while sleeping or something, did I?>
<Yes, you were here the entire time. I believe the footage could have been altered.> She responded.

<What time and date did it happen?>
<Two hours ago, he regained consciousness. An hour ago, he was found dead by Epsilon.>
>>
>>19199181

<Then we can prove our whereabouts. Two hours ago we were> [INSERT LOCATION HERE]. (CD run? With Amy?)
>>
>>19199181
"I don't know if it will help, but I'm going to forward our camera footage of the last three hours to you. Try and get it to Lucca."
>>
>>19199181
<I can provide exact footage of what I was doing at the time. Bullfrog records pretty much everything.>

also, this >>19199099 we must try to find what actually happened and how the footage was tampered.

<I hope Lucca and Omega know that they cannot take me on.... actually, they should know that. Do they have some kind of a special ace in the hole?>
>>
>>19199205

I'm honestly thinking the only good end here is to pretty much stand outside the dome in the snow, no weps, and ready to hand Lucca a sword. Otherwise, we're going to have to kill her, because she's not going to be stopped once we've started fighting, even defensively.
>>
>>19199223
I don't think it is a good idea.
They have cloaks, remember? Improved ones that cannot be detected. I'd rather not be sucker punched
>>
>>19199223
She isn't a very good agent. We should be able to catch her easily with the drites. I'm more worried about Omega.
>>
<I don't know if it will help, but I'm going to forward our camera footage of the last three hours to you.> you say. <Try to get it to Lucca.>
<No can do, Dave.> Abel said. <Omega can't be accessed when he's running this silent.> He says.
<They should know that they can't take me on. . .> You say. <Do they have some kind of special ace in the hole?>
<Well. . There's a missing prototype.> He says. <I can't forward much, because it's all encrypted and I don't want to risk this channel. But. . It's essentially a portable gen-3 chair that Jun and KI worked together on. It takes part of its design from the bullfrog.>
>>
>>19199232
>>19199234

I'm seriously proposing "bear your throat and wait". Because after Lucas took a bullet for Amy (and incidentally died because of our private war) I'm not killing his sister.

Either it buys us enough time to talk a modicum of sense, or fuck it.
>>

"Amy, how finished is our Gunship of Death"

Well, I guess we could use our magic hacking ability to locate them in flight using the satellite to boost our range and cover. Slim chance though.
>>
>>19199247
I guess we'll just have to wait.
I don't have a problem with waiting outside, as long as we have our armor on.
>>
>>19199280
well, I do.

I'm not giving an upper hand just like that

>>19199252
Yeah, we aren't killing her if we can help it.

>>19199268
To make things easier. Keep in mind the speed at which Omega travels.
>>
>>19199268
And ask Amy for help.
She's the one who has designed them.
>>
>>19199293

We don't go outside, the dome will wreck them, or they'll both wreck each other.
>>
We also have to be careful about KI. We aren't an agent of EE anymore, so we are fair game to them.
Although I think they will investigate more before they send agents after us.
>>
"Amy, how finished is our gunship of death?"
"Hardly." She responds, biting her lip. "As in, it's just a frame with a power core and computer banks. It's too large for it to be finished any time soon."
". . Do you have any ideas on how we can detect them?"
Amy sighed. "If they're cloaked. . I have no idea how we can find them. They're invisible, jammed, and the stealth modules spoof background radiation, so you can't even find them by looking for nullspace. Our only real hope is if your. . abnormal ability senses them, and that doesn't have a very far range."
>>
>>19199306
>>19199293
Oh and another idea; at the speed they are traveling they ought to leave some traces in the environment. If they are flying high, then clouds will shift, if they are flying low, then a "shockwave" should leave its imprint on the the water.

>>19199333
Well, we can and have boosted our range with the Satellite's help so... uhh do this >>19199268 ?
>>
>>19199333
Could we spread something small (I'm talking about microscopical) in the air, and look for displacement?
>>
Layers on layers on layers. The rogue agents are a distraction. You'll never outmaneuver Twelve until you can think as he does.

>Quite flattering, thinking I'm a tool of Exabyte.
>>
>>19199354
That's a good idea, spread something around the dome in several miles radius. Tell this to Amy, she'll think of something.

or maybe tiny, tiny, flying nanobots which give a signal if something hits them
>>
"Well, I was able to boost my range with the satellite's help, so. . ."
You place your hand on the satellite uplink, and close your eyes.

Instantly, you're high in the sky, looking downwards. You can feel Daedalus somewhere inside of you, and Daedalus running through the terabytes of information twisting through the satellite, but you don't think about that. You check the clouds, and the water, but you see nothing notable. Waves, here and there, but there are so many it's impossible to tell which is natural, and which could be caused by a low-flying, cloaked dropship.

"Could we spread some kind of chaff in the air and look for displacement?" You ask Amy, pulling away from the uplink.
"We won't have enough material. It would waste all of the atomic goop we have, and I don't think it would work." Amy says. "It's possible that they're not even nearby, which means we'd need to cover the entire earth to look for them."
>>
>>19199393
Unless anyone has any good ideas I guess we'll just have to wait for them.
>>

>You check the clouds, and the water, but you see nothing notable. Waves, here and there, but there are so many it's impossible to tell which is natural, and which could be caused by a low-flying, cloaked dropship.

Whut? Omega flies at 10,000 miles per hour. I'm pretty sure it would be easy to detect that, considering he will go in a straight line. we just need to look for a straight line of distortion.

Unless he's going through the space or something. Or underwater.
Try locating him again
>>
>>19199417

Exactly. Unless he generates a bubble of nofriction, he's going to put off heat, going that fucking fast. Heat's one of those things you can't mask, only dissipate in a direction they're not looking. So in this case, straight down.
>>
You connect once more to the satellite, and search further, combing everything in your view for something. . anything, that would show you where Omega was, but. .
You see a cloud. A great, black cloud, coming toward you.

<There's something approaching from the north.> Talos said. <A great many somethings. And you've recieved a dropbox message, Sir.> Talos says.

<Dave, you might want to know.> Abel said. <An entire warehouse of KI drones in South America has gone missing. Just. . gone.>
>>
>>19199462

SON OF ALL THE BITCHES.

This is why I wanted to get outside the dome. We're going to pound each other to scrap before it even gets to exposition time.

Can we make haste to somewhere that there would be appalling civilian casualties if they engaged us?
>>
>>19199462
If the drones aren't EMP shielded, prepare for the most badass EMP in this side of the planet.
>>
rolled 42 = 42

>>19199462
"Drones, huh?"

Lets see if we can hack them and overload their cores.

>>19199471
I'm not sure what you're trying to gain by standing out side. It is clear that these two dumbfucks aren't thinking clearly. How fucking stupid they must be to immediately jump to conclusions instead of trying to figure things our first when they KNOW that they have powerful organizations working to subvert them?
>>
"Can we get to someplace nearby where there would civilian casualties if we fought?" You ask Amy.
She shook her head. "They're too close, and if we try getting out with the ravens, they'll shoot us down."
<The objects are approaching range of the AA turrets. Shall I engage?> Talos asked.

You close your eyes, and reach toward the cloud. . You start overloading cores, but the drones carry much too small of cores to damage more than the drone you hack, and you have to hack them one by one, doing no visible damage to the swarm.
>>
>>19199494

Distance between them and our stuff we don't want wrecked? Talos is GOING to open fire, and those drones are GOING to overwhelm point defense. They'll punch a hole in the dome, battle, exposition, conclusion.

The only way we avoid this is by NOT making them kill all the external turrets and crack the dome to get at us. WE CAN FUCKING TELEPORT. Unless they manage to alpha strike us into a wisp of smoke, we should be okay.
>>

>>19199511
Well, I guess have the hacked drones immediately engage nearby drones. Give control over to Magenta so that we can solely focus on hacking. Oh and have Cyan help with hacking.

It is also possible that this is just a distraction.
>>
>>19199525
That could work. We just have to find it.
>>

>>
>>19199541

I was thinking 100 yards out in the snow. Far enough to present a clear target that ISN'T our stuff.

I'm trying to avoid a fight altogether. Because us trashing one another only benefits Resurgence.
>>
<Daedalus, feed me a solid positional fix on Omega's craft.> You say.
<I cannot locate Omega's craft.> He responds. <There is no noticable hole in the cloud of drones that the cloaked craft could be sitting, and there is nothing travelling quickly enough for me to detect the heat from friction.>

<Engage the drones.> You tell Talos, and then the ground starts to shake. You close your eyes, having your own drones start firing. you notice the swarm take a different tactic almost immediately, where they immediately shoot down anything you hack, the moment you take control.
You feel Amy place her hand on your shoulder, and you notice that you're sweating. You're hacking as quickly as you can, and there's no appreciable difficulty from it, but . .there's just too much for you to hack at one time.
>>
rolled 12 = 12

<Do we have missile turrets? Shoot missile salvos at the swarm and intercept them.>

>>19199557
While they are stupid, they are probably not stupid enough to just uncloak and start talking. They know how Dave operates, and they know that the only way to get him to apply massive sucker punch.

>>19199564
Devote massive piles of Base CPU to Cyan so that he takes the brunt of the hacking effort. Since we already hack them with ease, they are probably not that well protected so Cyan should be able to apply our hacking methods.

>>
<Talos, relay as much base CPU to Cyan.> You say. <Cyan, start hacking the drones.>
<Yes, sir.>
<Understood.>

As you watch, the drones continue to destroy themselves, and take damage from Talos's AA turrets. . and then they immediately change tactics.
The unhacked drones start slamming into the wall of the outer edge of the dome, smashing itself into shrapnel. Then a second one. Then a third one. The entire swarm of drones start slamming into the same point on the dome, the outer shell denting.
<Our armor is taking considerable damage.> Talos says.

You've completely demolished nearly a fourth of the drone swarm, and another fourth has destroyed themselves by slamming into the wall. .

You get angry.
This is horseshit!
You push your hands together, touching the tips of your fingers together, and you focus. . .

A small bit of lightning zaps between your hands, as you concentrate on creating the most powerful, heavy EMP possible. .

>>
>>19199674
This is a play at trying to draw Dave out so they can use whatever trump card they got to engage him air-to-air. If Daedalus couldn't find them before, then they must want him to follow.

Also keep track where they are going, adjust the satellite so that they do not leave our range. Make predictions based on their direction and speed where they are going. I think Onyx will be able to help there
>>
I think that means Lucca is in our base.
>>
Wait, just to be clear.
Was 11 using Lucca's voice or is 11 just with them?
>>
>>19200148
This.
Or near it with her IDW chair
>>
>>19200148
Or it was all a diversion to goad us into attacking and/or divulging some data. Still, we shouldn't let our guard down.
>>
"You'll get your chance." Omega says. "For now, just be patient."
"But Omegaaaa. . . "
"It'll make him happy." Omega says calmly.
". . Okay." She says. "What next?"
"Next, we tell KI that Dave's still an EE agent, and stole the drones. You can fake that, right?"
"I'm on it." She responds, and then goes silent.
Omega starts singing to himself.

You continue tracking Omega, but it seems that he's going back to NearFuture City.

<Abel, listen to this.> You say, sending him your record of the conversation. <Also, you guys have Lucas' body, right?> You ask.
"Amy," You say, pulling out of the connection. "I think Lucca is in-"
You turn back, and Amy is gone.

>>
rolled 30 = 30

>>19200186
Scan for Amy and any electrical presence.

Hunt down Lucca.
>>
>>19200196
I'm not sure this is a good idea. After Abel recieves the recording, KI and EE are going to act and capture Omega and 11. Better to make them feel safe first.

But, use the roll to install stealth backdoors and overrides.
>>
Aw, shit.
You scan for Amy's legs. . and find both pairs in your bedroom.
<Talos, where's Amy?!> You ask.
<I do not know, sir.> He responds.
<Give me the last known footage of where she was.> You say.
The camera footage is simple. You're sitting there, eyes closed, hand on the uplink, and Amy's standing behind you, tapping one foot and looking anxious. Suddenly, her head leans back, and then her eyes roll into the back of her neck. A white cloth appears, and drops to the ground, and then Amy vanishes from sight.
>>
>>19200213
He's stealthed. No one but us can even find him, let alone capture.
>>
>>19200226
Well, she had her feet a minute ago. Head to the bedroom, Lucca might not be there but it's our first lead and we can work it from there. Keep cameras at all angles, and have our drites, especially the really agile ones whipping around, but not with blades on, to see if there's anything sneaking around.
>>
>>19200226
Intercom. "Lucca did you know that Omega is a member of Resurgence?" Then play that audio over the intercom.

"Lucca, did you know that Omega is a member of Resurgence?" You ask, playing over the intercom. You replay the footage you just got. . and wait.

"T- that wasn't me." Lucca says, fading into view. "That wasn't me talking. . Then that means. . they faked the footage, too."

I was just rolling to detect her.

No shit sherlock. You were pretty fucking dumb there for a while, why in hell would you think I'd go after the man who saved the love of Amy, the woman I love.

Put Amy down, turn off your cloak and have some lunch.

"Yeah, they did." You say. "Where's Amy?"
"I put a second stealth module on her." She said. "She's on the piano bench, knocked out."
"Why in hell would you think I'd go over the man who saved the life of Amy?"
"Omega told me that he heard you arguing with L-lucas." She said, paling. "And he just . . walked out of Lucas' room."

You hear her knuckles crack, and see she's clenching the barrel of the sniper rifle mounted to her back.
"It was him, wasn't it? Omega killed him. He- He killed Lucas, and then just. . walked out and told me that you and him were arguing about Amy. I. . I believed him!"

Well, his names been added to a list of people I'm planning on having die. He's been outed so he'll be on the run and I ought to be able to track him and 11 back to their center of operations. Then I bust in, rip his skull off and mount it on a pike for you.

"Seems like it."

She must be bottling up her sadness. Go over to her, embrace her and let her cry out.

Also send message to Abel.
<You guys probably will want to capture Omega, the ship and 11. Make sure to not give it away by acting too soon. Let them land. Put the ship to hangar for "repairs" or something so that he cannot escape immediately.>
>>
"It's okay, because I just outed him to EE and KI. As soon as he lands, they'll get him."
"T-that isn't good enough." Lucca said. "Do you have a vehicle I can use?"
There was a loud whining noise from Lucca's back, and a thrum of energy.

<The drones reactivated.> Talos warns you.
>>
>>19200385
"Did you do that?"

"And yeah, I have one. It's even faster than Omega's"

>>19200378
Also the second part of this post.
>>
>>19200385
"Lucca. Don't. He is but a pawn - an important one, but a pawn nonetheless. He might lead us to Twelve, and that is a chance we must not pass over. Direct your vengeance at him."

also, it doesn't really do us much good to pretend staying out of warfare. Somebody either found out we were faking leaving or they just want to take us out regardless, at any rate we should go back to being with EE and KI. Divide et impera works only if you manage the first part.
>>
"Did you do that?"
"The drones? Yes." She says. "I got a lot better since you last saw me."
"Yeah, I have one. It's even faster than Omega's." You say, leading her to the hangars.

<You guys should capture Omega, the ship, and 11. Make sure not to give it away by acting too soon. Let them land, put the ship to hanger for 'repairs' or something, and then lock them down.> You tell Abel.

<Omega's been caught, and KI are standing down.> Abel says. <But Epsilon's been shot.>
"You bitch!" Amy's calling, holding out the Hydra towards Lucca. She's prone on the ground, her legs gone.
Lucca raised her hands.
>>
>>19200559

>>19200559
Amy, don't shoot Lucca, she may have been an idiot but she isn't our enemy.

>>19200559
"AMY STOP!"

Just in case, bullet time and snatch Hydra from her hands.
>>
"Amy, don't shoot her." You say, slinging Amy up.
<Talos, get her legs.>
Soon after, Amy's legs arrived, carried by repair drones, and Amy fastens them with one hand. . but doesn't lower the Hydra with the other.
"Explain yourself." Amy said.
<How bad is it for Epsilon?>
<I'm not sure; reports are pretty confused. She's alive, but she's taken a hit to the spine. Her implant is all kinds of busted.>
>>
". . Omega told me Dave did it." Lucca said. "And- And he showed me the footage, too. I was getting you out of the way so that I could- could confront him."
Amy looks to you.
"And. . he explained what was going on."
Lucca nods.
Amy lowers the Hydra.
"So, now there are three of us." Amy says.
>>
>>19200640
"Are you going back to KI? Now's your chance to drop off the radar and hunt Resurgence. Abel can make it look like Omega dumped you in the ocean on the way back."
>>
Alright, I'm going to sleep.
Don't forget about the Project Atlantis, guys! (in case we find ourself with nothing to do or something.)
>>
"Are you going back to KI? Now's your chance to drop off the radar and hunt Resurgence. Abel can make it look like Omega dumped you in the ocean on the way back."
"I. . don't think that would be the best idea. I did take the prototype and a bunch of their drones. . " She said, then covered her face.
"Dave, have Talos set up her bedroom." Amy said. "She can help us; she was able to infiltrate this place, after all."
Then, after a moment, Amy spoke in a low voice.
"And she has more reason to fight Resurgence than either of us."
>>
Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Resurgence would obviously go back on their word.
Have we heard from Eleven before? I don't recall it, but since we apparently recognized his voice...
>>
>>19200732
11 is the AI that was running this bunker.
>>
>>19200732
>Eleven was the name of the AI that Twelve had.
>>
>>19200722
"Sounds like a plan."

I want to say something cheesy/pervy like "Oh my, now I'm living with TWO lovely ladies under my roof" but Lucca did just lose her brother, so that wouldn't be appropriate.

I wonder what the real footage was. Maybe Omega trying to recruit Lucas into Resurgence?
>>
>>19200722
<Abel, Lucca isn't here. I think Omega killed her and dumped the body in the ocean somewhere.>
>>
11 is probably sapient like Azure. It said that it wanted to be transferred back to 12, meaning that there are no two copies of it at the same time.
>>
>>19200740
>>19200742
Oh, god, wow. How the hell did I forget that?
>>
"Sounds like a plan." You say, and have Talos set up her bedroom.
<We're starting interrogations now.> Abel sends to you. <Omega's implant has been disabled, and he can't control the dropship anymore. Where's Lucca? KI are looking for her.>
You're hesitant to lie to Abel; he's been your best friend for years, and you know he'd choose you over EE if he had to.

>[] Lie to Abel
>[] Tell him the truth
>[] Tell him the truth, but ask him to lie to KI
>[] Other?
>>
>>19200722

Put hand on Lucca's shoulder.

"I could never have repaid your brother after what he did for Amy. If I could trade places with him, I would. All we can do now is make those bastards pay, and pay dearly."
>>
>>19200798
>>[] Tell him the truth
>>[x] Tell him the truth, but ask him to lie to KI

One of these.
>>
[x] Tell him the truth, but ask him to lie to KI
Tell KI that she isn't here either, and it's likely that Omega dumped her in the ocean.
>>
>>19200798
Abel has a secure connection, we're telling him the truth. The only question is how much KI should be told, given that they got infiltrated by Omega, who knows what other moles they might have, I'd like an ace in my sleeve.
>>
<She's here.> You say. <But don't tell anyone; she won't be a problem. She's helping us here, and it's best if nobody knows that; Given that Omega was able to infiltrate KI, who knows what other moles they might have?>
<Got it, Dave.> Abel says. <I'll tell them that I still can't locate her.>
>>
>>19200856
Make sure the dropship is secured; the AI might be in the ship's banks or somewhere around there. If we get our hands on it we might blow Resurgence apart just like that
>>
<Keep the dropship secure.> You say. <Don't let it out; the AI might still be in it.>

<What?! Eleven was an AI? Why was I not informed?! KI brought one of their control riggers and took it out for repairs. Fuck. I'll try signaling him.>
>>
>>19200906
Son of a bitch, stop him now though I'm afraid 11 might be gone already, that rigger might be working for them.

11 is our best clue.
>>
>>19200922
"If you can't stop it, destroy it."
>>
<Son of a bitch. Stop him, stop him now!>
<I can't contact him.> Abel said. <He's just. . hovering above the EE building.>
<If you can't stop it. . Destroy it.> You say.
<What?>
<Destroy it.>
<Dave. . Are you certain? This will piss off KI to no end.>
>>
>>19200924

Belay that. <Daedalus, keep that thing fixed no matter where it goes. I don't care if it stealths and dives underwater, I want to know exactly where it winds up.>
>>
>>19200943

<Well, your options are destroy it and then discuss it with KI, or watch it start a war and potentially level the EE building. Your choice.>
>>
>>19200943
Don't just yet, patch me into its communications. Keep guns trained on it ready to blow it out of the sky.

I think me and 11 ought to have a talk.
>>
<Don't just yet.> You say. <Patch me into it's communications. Keep guns trained on it, ready to blow it out of the sky.>
<. . Okay, Dave. Good luck.>

Suddenly, Abel attaches a link to the dropbox. . You connect to it.

<Hello.> Eleven says. <I'm lost. Can you show me to Twelve?>
You can sense another mind in the connection, but the mind is gibbering, and whimpering, utterly broken.
>>
>>19200962

>>
Do you guys think we should try and convince 11 to come back to Antarctica? I doubt we could get her to land at EE or KI, but she might be okay with us. Although that would just make KI mad at us if they find out.
>>
>>19200988
Hello there Eleven, I think I know where to find him. It's going to be okay, I'm your friend, just follow my directions, land here and turn off your engines once you get here.

Give her directions to Valhalla, and keep an eye on it every single step of the way.

We can give KI Omega back once we have 11, we don't care about the ship, just its passenger.
>>
"Hello, there, Eleven." You say. "I think I know where to find him. It's going to be okay, just follow my directions."
You give Eleven the directions to the bunker. "I'm your friend. . Just land here and turn off your engines once you get here."

Suddenly, the gibbering mind vanished.
<Dave, Omega just took off at a tremendous speed. So much speed that the G-forces would undoubtedly have killed anyone inside.> Abel warns you.

"Thank you!" Eleven responded. "I miss Twelve. He copied me and then said I could come back if I did good did I do good? Did I did I did I did I did I did I did I did I did I?"
>>
>>19200988
I'm your only chance of finding 12. You can't find him by yourself, and the corps will just try to get any data you might have. If you come back to Antarctica we might be able to find him.
>>
>>19201076
11 (rather this limited copy of it) just went insane
we should try and salvage data (and the ship) as soon as we can
else we're going to have a problem
>>
>>19201076
You're doing great Eleven, just fine. Just stay calm and land, everything is going to be fine. You're doing good.

Poor thing, I imagine Azure is rather pissed at what was done to Eleven.
>>
"You're doing great, Eleven, just fine. Just stay calm and land, everything is going to be fine. You're doing good."
"But I'm a bit scared since Ten got captured. Will Twelve be angry at me? I don't want him angry at me. Please don't let him be angry at me."

<Omega seems to be approaching.> Talos says.
>>
>>19201139
Nobody is angry at you Eleven, you're doing good, you're doing great. Just come in slow and land, it'll be just fine.

We'll want a completely partitioned section of a computer, one completely disconnected from the rest of our stuff to put Eleven in. Then we'll talk.
>>
>>19201139
"Don't worry. Twelve won't be angry at you. Ten messed up, not you."
When Omega lands, have a drone go in and move 11 onto a FutureUSB.
>>
Don't put 11 into the main computer. Put it on a seperate system with no wireless hardware.
>>
"Nobody is angry at you, Eleven. Twelve won't be angry at you. Ten messed up, not you. You're doing good, and you're doing great. Just come in slow and land, it'll be just fine."

You pull out of the connection. <Talos, build a spare system. Make sure it's not connected to anything at all except for a single screen and computer.>
<Understood.>

"Now we're going to have a drone come pick you up so you can come inside."
"Can I see Twelve? Can I can I can I? I miss Twelve."
"Yes, yes, you can."
The drone flies down to the dropship in the hangar, and the doors open- The drone connects to the dropship's data banks, and moves everything into a USB. the drone comes back, and plugs into the new part of the system.

<Twelve are you there? Twelve twelve twelve?> The screen says immediately.
"What's this?" Lucca asked, looking at the screen.
>>

<She did it to herself.> Azure said. <Did you not hear her? I do believe you could get whatever knowledge she has, if you're able to talk her into divulging it.>
<Maybe I can hack Eleven and remove the love programming.> You say.
<I don't think that's going to be possible. If she's programming herself, she likely made it central to her personality- or perhaps she's started making all of her personality tags the same thing. This is a textbook example of an AI that's gone insane. But it's strange. . It seems that this one is acting like it's sapient.>

"have you started interrogating omega yet? how is (epsilon/sigma-whoever got shot in that confusing bit)? I need to know where the 'private terminal is'..."

<at eleven>"don't worry I'm gonna remember where the terminal is, it might take some time but I will find it so 12 can tell you how happy he is for your success"

was 3 using a voice changer?
>>
>Three's voice was elderly and urbane; he didn't seem like he was using a voice changer.

<It'll be fine, Eleven, we'll find him. Just calm down, and try to remember anything that would help find him.>
<He's always underwater lately but I don't know where underwater because he told me to forget because the bad guys could hack me and find out where he is and hurt him.>
"This thing is insane." Lucca said, looking at the terminal over your shoulder. Amy's looming over your other shoulder, rubbing at her eyes.
<Have you started interrogating Omega yet?> You ask Abel. <And how is Epsilon?>
<Epsilon is alive, but it seems her implant is destroyed. They're working on it, but they don't think she can use an IDW anymore. Omega's being interrogated, but. .we're not getting much out of him.>
>>
>>19201860
Eleven, what can you tell me about ten? What did he know, if someone wanted to question him what sort of things would they press, what would they be able to use as leverage? Why was he working for resurgence and for how long?
>>
>>19201860
is his implant intact and operational?

I have an Idea...

go to omega, lets see if we can convince him.
>>

<You're Ten, though, aren't you? I don't know anything about you.>

<It seems that this AI is degenerating quickly.> Azure says.

<No I'm the new 17. It's very important that I report back about ten being captured>
>>
<No, I'm the new Seventeen. It's very important that->
<No you aren't, Twelve doesn't let anyone from his cells other than Ten talk to me. You're being sneaky and Twelve won't like that.>

"well you have to admit it was worth a try eleven, I want to talk to twelve almost as badly as you do...I'll just have to go and steal the old ten back and get him to tell me where the terminal is."

we turn off the terminal and go talk to omega
>>
<I want to talk to Twelve almost as badly as you do. . I'll have to go and steal the old ten back and get him to tell me where the terminal is.> You type, and then flick off the computer.

The screen goes dark.
"Dave? You get anything?" Amy's asking; she's sitting down with Lucca, and they're both eating snacks.

"a little, but not enough I feel."

"azure, run through every conversation I've had with every identifiable person; compare word cadence and pronunciation to either 12 or 3 don't focus on the voices I want how they speak analyzed it's harder to change."

lets go talk to omega; leave a whole lot of active defenses up around Valhalla and go wherever omega is being kept. Lucca is NOT allowed to be in the room with him under any circumstances.

azure, if you need to you can shunt the processing to Valhalla or any nearby computer that cyan can hack for you.

>Three's voice was elderly and urbane; he didn't seem like he was using a voice changer.
>urbane
Who's the one person whose voice as described as 'urbane' before?

Sweet dear fuck, gentlemen. Resurgence isn't normally as dickish and extremist as we thought, that's just Twelve's thing because he's a Warhammerfag who bought totally into the GRIMDERP in real life and has a position of power where he can go GRIMDERP. Resurgence as a whole isn't our enemy.

James Grimmauld, who has seemed like such a bro so far. The old man of class and urbane voice. He's Three. Exabyte has been careful about reusing language so far I believe, so that can't be to blame. Resurgence is supposed to be a bunch of illuminati types dedicated to pulling strings and keeping a hardcap on corporate dickery, something we could definitely get behind, and got corrupted and divided- somehow- by some asshole neckbeard.

But how could an asshole neckbeard get such status in life? How could he get shit done? The answer is he didn't. It was given to him. To see if he could make anything of his useless existence, his father gave him control of a few cells, because as much of a petulant bastard he was, he was his legacy and of his blood and his loins. His father? James Grimmauld. All that shit about Kell being the Antidave was a silly sham, he was similar and different in many ways, but not his antithesis.

12 is the Antidave. Born of a rich family, yes, but rather than cool, calm, laid-back and generally pleasant to be around, who abandoned his high society life for more, he's... THAT GUY, and desperately clings to this life because he couldn't live any other way, lazy fuck that he is. Everything that Dave strives not to be. And instead of facing his problems directly with courage in his heart and a sword in his hand, he faces them behind minions and manipulated pawns, smokescreens and devilry, hiding in the shadows like the cowardly maggot he is.

It all makes sense! The awful insane computer waifu he coded, the Warhammer, the fact that he bitches his cells- his 'party'- out for failing in the utterly shit suicide situations he sends them into before killing them for failing, the hatred of Three's authority! He's just a petulant fat asshole living off his daddies' money and playing Emprah! And his father is FUCKING TZEENTCH! HE'S PULLING A RED MAGNUS ON US!

NOW you're getting properly paranoid! Now, why does Three want Twelve to fail?
>>
>>19202821
Oopsy-daisy. In retrospect, like a fool, had to reread, as I'm a bit groggy today, for I read Three as Twelve and vice-versa, like an idiot, and restated the obvious about Twelve's motivations in irrelevance. Eyes are playing tricks on me, you see.

Three, well... I don't think Three wants Twelve to fail, at all. He just wants Twelve to stop being THAT GUY. He wants his son back. He wants his little boy back. He wants the man who was just a little eccentric, before his descent into madness and THAT GUY-ry and then into becoming a domestic terrorist and an egotistical madman. But if Twelve continues on this path then Three's going to have to... Deal with him. And I think this is where we'll come in.
>>
>>19202773
You know...It makes sense when you look at the small details. Let's not forget, Three knew about a -top secret- mission, that I'd assume only the Board and our party were privvy to. So, it might not be Grimmauld. But we know our party damn well, and we know none of them would turn on us. Three is, at the very least, on the Board. We should've let them die when we had the chance to, at the very worst we'd have to deal with Twelve, who is seeming increasingly unstable and incompetent.
>>
>>19203748
Yes. Twelve. In control of the entirety of Resurgence, since Three, who is only now getting desperate because both we and Twelve are mucking shit up completely and still trying to be flexible and rational about the situation, would be dead and no longer in the way of his madness. While the plot is a fluid thing that has been created as we walk along it, and so if the board had died this kind of plot twist would never even be on ours or Exabyte's mind, in retrospect, the board dying would be a bad thing, assuming this was one of those set-in-stone things the plot revolves around.

I can see Exabyte in my mind; reading this and taking notes. adjusting it to be just that little bit different and unpredictable compared to all the clearly drawn conclusions...

I have a question.
back a few threads, when amy said

>"Well, I saw a weird red case in there, with a weird half skull half mechanical skull symbol on it. It looked kind of like the stuff on the cover of one of my dad's books"

it seemed an odd detail to include.
who thinks we should go and say hi to Amy's Dad again.
>>

also is there anywhere that has thread 1 archived?

>Thread 1 is archived, it just doesn't have the rest of the tags; just check the Exabyte tag and it should be there.

Can we think up some insane way to bring Lucas back that has a chance to succeed, or is his end definite?

>Was it really him, or did Ishelda replace the body before anything happened?
>>
>>19204643
>Something everyone should note; Even though the science in this setting is completely, utterly impossible in any kind of serious setting, I like to keep it internally consistent.
>That may answer your question.
>>
>>19204643
Assuming his body was preserved, we could always try to copy his brain patterns and clone him. Or bring him back from the dead with our electro-glove and ability to fuck with computers to restart his brain, heart and other vitals after a blood transfusion and some bodily repairs. The latter, as a bonus, would theoretically preserve his original consciousness in its original brain, not just make a copy of his consciousness in a new body with no link to the original being, barring an immortal soul meaning the means of recreation or resurrection aren't a concern. But I don't think that's really something to hang on.

if you do or not is fine, just don't bring him back in a "Project Immortal Knockoff" kind of way.
