The year is 2025.

Your name is Dave, and you didn't ask for this.
Once a generic white-collar worker who lived alone save for your cat, you were hit by a car and spent three months in a coma. You awoke to find that your unconscious body had been taken in by the corporation 'Emulsified Electronics', and implanted with an experimental augmentation. You soon found that it allowed you to control electronic devices with your mind. You quickly became embroiled in corporate warfare, fighting the PMC ArmaTek and their employers, Cadmium Dynamics, and there have been incidents with a corp named Kawasagi Infinite. You were recently kidnapped by a group calling itself Resurgence, who claims they're Saving The World. In retaliation, you went all the way to Antarctica, where you took over one of Resurgence's facilities. Since then, every mission you've done, be it one against Resurgence or one against Cadmium Dynamics, a man, codenamed Project Immortal, keeps fighting you. No matter what kind of damage you do, he keeps getting back up eventually. Tomorrow, the allied forces of both EE and KI will begin the mission to destroy Cadmium Dynamics, once and for all.

"Hey, Dave?" Amy asks, sitting up in the dim light from the streetlamp outside, the window's blinds making the light cover her in stripes. You note, and appreciate, that she's wearing an oversized t-shirt- and only that. "Should I. . Should I tell KI about their stealth modules tomorrow? About how to make them perfect, I mean. Because it would help in the mission tomorrow. . but I'm hesitant, because what about after that? I don't want them to have the edge over us..."

"Okay, I'll do that, and see what she says." Amy says, giving you a kiss. "Night, Dave."
"Night."

You wake up to someone slamming the door.
"Amy." You hear Verne's voice. "I was released this morning. Amy, you up?"
He walks into the bedroom- you and him lock eyes. Amy's still snoring, laying on you.

By the time you got the suit on, Amy walked back in, leaning in the doorway. "Sorry to run on you, Dave, but me and Verne are going out to eat a few incredibly unhealthy things in celebration of his hospital discharge. You'll be fine on your own, right?"

"Anyway, I wanted to talk about the cloak technology. Specifically about how we can circumvent it while KI cannot.
Since KI specializes in cloaking, I'm sure they are going to figure it out sooner or later. I think we should tell them of their weakness, that way we strengthen our relationship or at least we can gain something out of it.
Also, Amy developed cloaking that circumvents the weakness. We might want to share that."

"You're not planning on going too, are you?"
"Oh, no." Jun said. "But. . I think I'm going to be wearing equipment from now on." She says. "It's best to have as much security as possible."

"Anyway, I wanted to talk about the cloak technology. Specifically about how we can circumvent it while KI cannot. "I think we should tell them of their weakness; that way, we strengthen our relationship, or at least, we can gain something out of it."
"I see." She says. "Didn't Amy reverse-engineer the cloaking and then circumvent that weakness?"
You nod. "We might want to share that."
"I'll consider it, and bring it up with the rest of the board." She says. "I should start now, so that we'll have enough time for KI to modify their stealth modules for the mission later today. Do you need anything else?" She asks, and starts typing rapidly on her terminal.
>>
>>19175575
"Nope. Unless you have ideas to upgrade me to more awesome.
Oh and Resurgence called me, saying the same thing as they did to Amy.
...Don't tell our plan to the board. I'm not sure I trust everyone on it. I still don't know how Resurgence knew of our mission to attack CD."

"They seem well confident that they can destroy KI and EE. I hope we're not missing something, there always could be security hole... or maybe they don't even want to bring us down by means of force."
>>
"Nope." You say. "Unless you have ideas to upgrade me to more awesome."
"Sorry, but I don't have any ideas right now." Jun said.
"Oh, also, Resurgence called me, saying the same thing as they did to Amy."
"I see." She said.
"Don't tell anyone our plan; I'm not sure I trust everyone, and I still don't know how Resurgence knew of our mission to attack CD." You say. "They seem confident that they can destroy KI and EE. . I hope we're not missing something."
Jun sighed. "They're not prone to using force, so all we can do is finish this mission and wait, and hope they reveal themselves." She said, thinking. "But I'll keep it a secret from everyone, as you ask."

You step out of Jun's office, and almost walk into Abel.
"Hey, Dave." Abel says. "I was thinking- for the mission today, I was thinking I might use your bunker. After all, it has the computer power and the satellite uplink. That way, I can be overwatch without being directly involved."
>>
Before we tell Jun anything about Resurgence being gits, scan our phone. Make sure it isn't compromised.

>>
>>19175736
"Not prone to using force? Jun, their plan- they were quite overt about it- is to murder everyone who doesn't defect to their little club. Everyone. At both EE and at KI. We've got a pretty small window, here. Mission, then getting that militant fuck Three by surprise, then making sure we won't suffer under a counterattack. Apparently, I REALLY pissed them off."
>>
"Of course." You say. "You're free to use it. You can make modifications, or even build new stuff with the repair drones if you want. Just don't go overboard. Atomic goo is damn expensive."
"Got it." Abel said.
"Also, Resurgence called me. I tried to track them, but didn't get far." You say, transferring the info to his PDA. "Here's all I got."
"I'll work on it." He said, and then his phone rings. He picks it up. "Sup, tie-dye?" He asks, and listens for a bit. "Yeah, sure, I don't mind. Dave's letting me use the bunker, though. Got it." He said, after a moment, and then hung up. "Verne's going to be on overwatch too." He says. "His experience should help a hell of a lot."
>>
>>19175819
"That's great.
How are you going to get to the bunker?"

"Omega giving you a lift?"

"That's great." You say. "How are you going to get to the bunker?"
"Omega's giving us a lift." Abel says. "I just need to pack up my software and wait for Verne. Chow, Dave." He said, slapping your shoulder and walking past. "No rest for the wicked, eh?" He asked, and took the elevator down.

Then you got a call from Amy.

"I guess there's some time left for quick combat training?" You ask. Amy nods.
---

Amy dives forward at you at the same time Grayson does. Your heavy 'drites lift, and you activate bullet-time, leaning to the side, and you deactivate bullet-time. Your heavy drites parry blows from both sides, simultaniously, as you kick in and out of bullet-time only when you need to. Grayson brings forth a punch at full, heavy-power suit velocity, and you slide out of the way, using his own momentum to grab him with both heavy drites, and slam him into the wall behind you.

"Well." He says, pushing himself up. "You've improved."

As you pulled Grayson to his feet, everyone got a call.

"Abel and Verne here." Abel said, connecting everyone to a conference call. "Hlidskjalf is prepared, and Omega should be back by now.
"Yep, I'm sailing above KI as we speak, loading up on drones." Omega responded. "Sigma and Lucas are here, too, so I'm picking them up."
"Okay; everyone, chime in if you're prepared." Abel said.
"Epsilon and Lucca here." Lucca's saying. "We're in the VTOL with Mark."
"Drones, the IDW duo, and Tolstoy's mech are on the roof of EE." Mark said.
"Me, Grayson, and Dave are in the training room." Amy said.
"Okay; Grayson, get up to the VTOL. Amy, Dave, you two have those Ravens, right?" Abel asked. "Go get them."
>>
>>19176465
Ok guys, let's go and fuck these guys over. They screwed with the wrong companies, we are going to rip out their intestines and tear their heads from their necks. They will remember this day in fear for the rest of their life.
>>
So who'd going to betray us?
Any bets?
I think it will be one of the KI agents. I can't see any NAMED allies from EE betraying us. We have great relations with Jun, Amy, Grayson, Abel and for some extent with Mark and Verme. Besides them, we don't really know anyone.
>>
You and Amy rush to the ravens, and climb in; You in Huginn, and Amy in Muninn. You notice that Huginn is loaded up with some cluster bombs, and Muninn loaded up with Fuel-air explosives.

"Ready." You say. "Let's go fuck these guys over."
"I'm in." Amy adds.
"Let's go, then." Abel says. "The Ravens have the highest speed, so you guys are going to go ahead and scout. Omega, stick with the VTOL while we're in the air. IDWs, keep your drones active and watching, but there's no need to let them out of their transports quite yet."

You and Amy tear through the sky, followed closely by Omega and Mark. "It seems that the Mcguffins we installed in everything is working properly." Abel says. "According to my data here, the compound is under heavy cloud cover." He said. "That should keep them from detecting us as long as we stay above the clouds." He says. "Mark, go ahead and set down the mech and Grayson on the rooftop. . here, Verne? Yeah, on the rooftop to your left. Omega, set Sigma down in this alleyway; Amy, set you down there too for the infiltration team." He says, quickly rattling off orders.

CD's building is, in truth, more of a compound. Large, with great fences surrounding it and security towers, the building itself wasn't a tower, but more like a large bunker, all made out of concrete and mostly underground.
"Dave, you go ahead and get out of your raven too, so I can slave it to Epona." Amy says.
>>
>>19176568

Abel's been a little hinky. And Amy wasn't exactly forthcoming with that whole "got chatted up by Three" thing. Jun's safe, unless selling us out is a condition for Resurgence not ever fucking with EE ever again.

>*noneareloyal.jpg*
>>
>>19176627
Get out the raven, stretch and wait for the signal to begin being loud. We don't want to go before the infiltration team is in place, once they're in place our arrival shall be heralding by the cherubic sounds of heavy explosives and drones raining fire upon them. We shall stride through the fires a blacksuited tentacled avatar of death.

Who ever said Dave couldn't make an entrance?
>>

>>
>>19176568
Well, looking at the Kawasagi agents, Sigma likes us because of our good humor and because we weren't a dick after the whole KI-EE skirmish. Omega... Maybe. He's young. But he seems far too much of a cynical git and far too happy with his current position as a pilot for KI to doublecross us. The Gemini twins? Friends and they're indebted to us. Epsilon? She hates our guts. She'd be the most likely candidate, but I'm not certain if she hate-hates us or if she's just playing the hot-cold game because she doesn't know us well and doesn't understand how we kicked her butt. But I don't think she'd be too willing to cross Sigma, considering their past.

As for the EE agents, tricksy. Abel or Amy are prime suspects. Maybe. But Amy's seemingly broken of the idea and Abel's too much of a bro to doublecross us outright.

But here's the thing. Resurgence gave their 'word,' likely worthless, that they wouldn't fuck with this mission. So we should be on our toes, but not worry about TRAITORS AND HERETICS EVERYWHERE.

>>19176627
Scan. Hacks. Etcetera. Wait for the signal. And then go loud. Real loud.
>>
You descend through the cloud cover, and quickly land near Grayson and Epona, getting out of the vehicle. Epona buzzes. "Huginn acquired." It says, and the Raven flies back up above cloud cover.

"Infiltration team, are you ready?"
"Yep!" Amy says.
"Ready." Lucas adds. "Got quite a bit of explosives here."
"Mission start." Abel says.

The waiting is the worst part. All you can hear is Amy breathing ever so often, and down by your side, Grayson adjusts his rifle, looking through the scope.

"Dave, Epona, get down to Sigma for the bulldozer team." Verne says, and the two of you climb down to the alleyway beside the building, where Sigma's waiting with a rifle on his back, and a large shotgun in his arms.
"Dave, I know you normally hack things, and disable all signals outward," Abel says. "But that's not the objective this time. We're trying to goad their forces to come in."

"Infiltration complete." Lucas whispers.. "Bombs set, I'm on my way back."
"Me too." Amy whispers. You hear someone else shout over her comm 'who's there', but a moment later, there's nothing but gurgling. "Sorry about that." She says. "On my way back."

Almost. . Almost. . .

"We're out of the radius." Amy says.
"Ready to activate the bombs." Lucas adds.

"Detonate." Abel says. .

The ravens come screeching out of the sky, twisting upwards as they descend, and fire off both bombs.

The FAE and cluster bombs detonate at the same time as the C4. a few of the buildings in the complex are completely, utterly flattened, but the rest stay standing, reinforced.

"Go, bulldozer." Abel says. "Go fuck up their main gate.

Now, the waiting is done.

You fire a rocket salvo at one of the squadrons of power suits, and they go flying, mostly protected by their power shields.

You see Sigma charge forward, shotgun in hand, as he skids sideways around one of the powersuits, firing repeatedly into his shield before it finally cracks, and the power suit goes down.

A mech bursts out of a garage nearby, and it's instantly slagged by the overpowered javelin that Epona is wielding. Epona then twists it's other arm toward a squadron of unarmored soldiers rushing towards the garage, and they're all mowed down by the dual chailguns.

You raise your Javelin at a heli that just lifted off, and you fire. . The heli explodes into flame.

"Drones, do your work." Abel says, and small holes open up in the clouds as a veritable storm of drones descend.
The AA turrets of the facility quickly activate, but you fire your autocannon, blasting them apart.

You turn back, and see a squad of red power suits flying toward Grayson. You set your missiles to homing, and fire- The missile swarm tears them down, slagging their armor and jetpacks, but doing no other visible damage. They fall out of the sky- you just bought Grayson some time.
You scoop up the greatsword with a heavy mechandrite, and lock it in; now you have some real range in CQC.

As you watch, something red, very large, and shaped roughly like a triangle arcs through the sky from the north, and something small and black starts descending from it.

Project Immortal slams into the ground, his feet flashing red as he lands. You notice that he doesn't look like he's wearing any power armor, now; just synthetic muscle covering his entire body, glowing red power cores- shields, most likely, randomly arranged on his body.

"Yo, Dave. Combat Drugs active." He said. "Is today the day I kill you back?"

I'm glad we finally snuffed Kell the Antidave. I still wish we'd been able to diplomance the bastard to come to the right side, but y'know, he was a grumpy old coot of a tech support guy to the very end, hyperadvanced augments & a vendetta or no, so that was like trying to take down a brick wall one fingernail-sized scraping of mortar at a time; I don't think he found our "Who are you again?" jokes very funny. His story began with getting killed unceremoniously and ended with him being killed unceremoniously, but ridiculously impressively. So that's an improvement.

He was pretty much CD's best weapon, his design probably not logged effectively (because hey who the fuck bothers to pit priceless prototype technologies to paper, it's not like your super nano-tentacle-cyborg is going to get hit with a fucking killsat or anything) and any records were probably destroyed when we bombed the shit out of their hyperfortified compound, so Cadmium Dynamics is pretty neutered. Considering their amorality, I think we just hugely improved the prospective quality of life for the people of Russia with what we've done.

Exabyte. Just what was Kell's story? Surely the guy must've had some people in his life. Family, friends? And... WE FORGOT TO ASK OLEG ABOUT CADMIUM DYNAMICS BEFORE WE SET OFF. AGAIN. FUCK A DUCK, we at least need to figure out their schtick from him now that they're crushed underneath our boots.

<Who's the other unknown?> You ask, and Talos shows you the camera view; It's Grayson, who's working on Lucas alongside Verne. It seems like it's almost a crisis, but there's little you can do to help- you'd probably get in the way.

"I bet." You say. "You gonna keep that?" You ask, and point to her arm.

"Something just occurred to me. amy and I are a few million creds worth of walking hardware. The board didn't immediately go apeshit when we said, 'Thanks, we'll be going now.'?"
"No, they didn't. . Because you weren't the only ones. Nearly half of our technicians and a fourth of our security officers quit as well. Apparently Three's calls have gotten around. And Grimmauld declared that we're not going to force people to stay, if Resurgence is going to act against us."

"I. . didn't think of it that way, but perhaps he does know about what you're planning; he always ends up planning those sorts of things. .
"Did you share the cloak tech with KI?"
"Yes, we had that done before the mission; when we installed the McGuffins to their gear, they also upgraded their cloaking systems." She says.

"He's stable." Verne said to you. "I think we can take him back to KI, where they'll patch him up for real."
>>
>>19178732
"Has he gotten a transfusion yet? Is his heart running normally? What was he shot with?"

>>
>>19178732
I'm glad to hear he's okay, he saved Amy so I owe him big. If he wakes up on the way back tell him that I owe him a big favor, if he doesn't just leave him a note or something.

Talk to Abel.
>>
"I'm glad he's okay. He saved Amy, so I owe him big." You say. "If he wakes up on the way back, tell him I owe him a big favor." You say.
Verne nods. "Good man." He says.
"What's the extent of his injuries?"
"He got hit with a railgun in the torso. Tore through his armor, and the shrapnel essentially turned every organ in his body into swiss cheese." Omega said. "We should get going quickly, though."

"I need to talk to Abel first," You say, and take Abel to the command room, which had been soundproofed while Abel transformed it into Hlidskjalf. You shut the door tightly.
"Yeah, man?" He asks.
"So you know of our plan, right? Me and Amy stay here and hunt down Resurgence."
"This. . is the first I ever heard of this plan." Abel said. "And if I don't know, you can be damn sure nobody else does."
"Well, that's what we're doing." You say. "I'm. . not sure where to start, though, and this is your normal game."
"I'd reccomend you start with the airship." Abel says. "I haven't been able to find it. . but with your satellite uplink, any time he comes up above the water, you may be able to find it." He says. "And when you do, you can interrogate that Twelve bastard for all of the info he has. That's where I'd start."
>>
>>19178815
"So, basically, I just sit here all day scanning for the ship then?"

A gun that in no way compensates for anything."

"Abel, as soon as Amy's done getting patched up, we're building a hatch-concealed roof-mounted heavy ion cannon."
>>
"I basically sit here all day scanning for the ship? Damn, I guess I'll just have to do that." You say.
"I'm sure you could set up some kind of relay system to inform you automatically." He says. "So you won't have to sit right here the entire time."
"Well, if you have any ideas, don't hesitate to share." You say.
He nods. "I will. Good luck, Dave."
"Oh, and don't tell anybody about this."
Abel chuckled, and clapped a hand on your shoulder. "Of course I won't. Your secret is safe with me."

The two of you exit the soundproofed room, and you see Grayson and Omega carrying Lucas's stretcher into the dropship.

>The problem is that, even though we scrapped the thing's main gun- a spinal-mounted railgun that spanned the length of the thing- it's still probably more than a match for this fort.

No, it's not. We couldn't bring it down because we weren't used to controlling dozens of turrets at the same time.

Also, that plan is overall ridiculous. We're not hunting for the dropship. We're hunting for their main base and operative. And they are not retarded enough to be lured back to the heavily fortified fort.

>>19178907

>>
>>19178962
They only made 1 mistake when they kidnapped us really, they didn't know we could teleport. That fucked their plans over like Luin fucked over Kell.

"Gotcha." You say. "I'm guessing this is about Amy."
"Your guess would be right." He said. "She insisted that she's staying here, but wouldn't say why. At a guess. . You two have some kind of plan." He said, quietly. "Now, I won't ask for details. In fact, even if I'm wrong and you two are just taking a vacation, listen to me."

"Grayson!" Omega called.
"Right." He said, and got into the dropship.
"You're free to visit." you say. Talos opens up the helipad bay, and the dropship cargo doors close; it lifts up, and takes off leaving you and Amy alone in Valhalla.

Then we go and be with Amy.
>>
<Talos, set up a partition for the computer systems.> You say.
<Affirmative.> He responds, and you walk down to the computer core, uploading the Cluster.
<Epona, Active.> It says. . and then there's a timultous whirlwind of various voices, speaking to one another.

<. . Have we been captured?>
<Negative; we have access to the camera systems here.>
<It appears that Amy is lying in one of these rooms.>
<Our data has been copied, apparently.>
<It has been an hour since the last moment we remember; we concur with the previous statment.>

<We must remember to thank Dave.>
<We concur.>

You set up the relay system, which wasn't hard; all you had to do was explain to Talos what you're looking for, and then you wait near Amy's bed.

"Mm. Morning." Amy says, wiping her bleary eyes with her unharmed hand. It isn't morning, it's more like dusk, you notice.

Morning Amy, it's good to see you awake. Give her a kiss, ask how she's feeling and get some food made for us.

>>
"Hey, how you feeling?"
"The painkillers wore off." She said. "I can tell because my arm hurts and I have a headache and a dry throat. I'll be fine, though."
She pushed herself up. "What's been going on?"
"Not much." You respond, getting her some water and a kiss. "Everyone left, and this place is as secure as it could possibly be."
"And. .Kell? What happened on the mission? I remember you talking about Epona, but that was it."
>>
Have Azure and Talos run a security check on of all the bunker's systems. All of them. Seal all backdoors, delete all exploits and triggers and resets that 12 might have left. Scan EVERYTHING. We need these systems locked up tight against intrusion.
>>
>>19179312
As for Kell, I think it's better to show you then to just tell you. Bring up the footage of Luin vaporizing him.

As for Epona, he stayed behind to cover our retreat and I managed to copy the cluster over to my spine, then transfer them here.
>>
>>19179312
"If he survived complete vaporization then... man, I don't know."

Bring some water for Amy.
>>
>>19179312
"Kell's dead as a dirt. He took an orbital laser strike in his everything. I still don't get how a tech support guy became my mortal enemy. I feel almost like, in another lifetime, we might have been friends, kindred spirits, rather than foes. As for Epona, it 'died' fighting the last of Cadmium Dynamic's troops, and doing a bangup job. When it ran out of ammo, it took to those monochainsaws I told you to add and was slicing agents in half with every swing, stomping on others... It was pretty gruesome. But I saved the Cluster; I saved a backup in the Bullfrog, and it's now in the bunker computer. Safe and sound."
>>
>>19179327
I think we should have our AIs constantly run simulations and probe our defenses. Slowly rooting out any openings and exploits.
Have Epona cluster on it too.

Do this all the time while we're idle.
>>
"As for Kell, I think it's better to show you than just tell you." you say, and bring up the footage. You watch yourself fire the explosive, blowing him back. And right as he's ranting at you. . the sky opens up, and orange light embraces him.

"Luin melted down, though." You mention, as she drinks the glass of water. "Epona stayed to cover our retreat, but at the last moment I copied the cluster. They're on a partition in the base." You say.
"And Lucas? How's he?"
"He's still in the air." You say. "But he's alive."
"I see; it seems like we accomplished everything we worked for. " She says. "So . . What exactly is the plan now?" She asked, rubbing at her eyes some more.
>>
>>19179377
"Well, we need to defeat Resurgence somehow."

>Everyone that went on the mission got 50,000. Amy got some, you got some, Grayson got some; Hell, even Verne got 50k and he wasn't an employee.

"Well, we need to defeat resurgence somehow. Abel suggested we look for their gunship first, so that's what I have Talos and the command center doing." You say. "Do you have any ideas?"

"Well, the only thing I can really think, is. . We need to build something." She said. "If we continue watching like we are, and continue working, we should find them eventually. But when we do. . we need to be able to defeat them. And for that. . we need firepower."
>>
>>19179441
"We should repair Luin if possible, build a new Epona... oh and my javelin melted down." Look sad.

"Looks like we have a lot of work to do. And by we, I mean you, since you build the whole things while I carry the heavy stuff"
>>
>>19179441
Firepower is good, don't overwork yourself though.

We'll work out what we need over some food. Perhaps a massive laser cannon on the bunker, it's Antarctica so cooling ought to be fucking easy as hell, keep it under a pile of armor most of the time and only open it up to spew death.

Second we'll want some more portable death so we can find a location and just blow the hell out of it.
>>
>>19179479
We don't need to put more firepower on our bunker. We need mobile firepower.
>>
>>19179441
And everyone said my ion cannon idea was ridiculous! WELL, APPARENTLY THE QUEST ITSELF DISAGREES!

>>19178881

But we'll need something to secure ground and get inside the gunship once it's downed. Maybe... Battle droids?
>>
"Firepower is good." You say. "But don't overwork yourself."
She rolled her eyes. "I'll be fine." She said. "All the heavy lifting and stuff can be done with the repair drones, right? I can just get into the computer system and design the things."

You make some food for the two of you, and you start eating.
"Okay. . We can upgrade the bunker itself, rebuild Epona, construct more handheld weaponry, or make some vehicles..."

"What about something like. . battle droids?" You ask. "Something to secure ground and get inside the gunship once it's downed."
". . Why would we have to down it?" Amy asked. "If we find it. . we could send you in, armed with anything I can devise, you could essentially. . walk in. We have the repair drones, and we have enough cash for pretty much all the atomic goop I could ever dream of . . "
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is. . With the assistance of the computers here. . I could completely refurbish your equipment, and your suit, and everything."
She grabbed her wrist computer. "After I moved the cluster out of here I. . stole all of EE's info. All I could get, once we made the plan to leave. Abel helped me with it, and with this, we could use. . pretty much any tech we've reverse engineered, and make you a brand new suit.

>REFURBISH TIME GO
Umm... ummm...
To be honest, I have no idea what else we can have. Find a way to add hoverplates and jetpacks, perhaps?
How about keeping everything we have but somehow upgrading to heavy suit?
Also, seeing how Kell was able to stuff several shields and dozens of pwercores into his, makes us jealous. Can we add those without losing anything?
Improved cloak which work with shields would be great.
How about stuffing some CPU somewhere in the armor so that our AIs can use it when we have it on?
>>
>>19179606
Six drites, each one with the ability to weave armor onto itself. So, we could just have them normally and then flip a switch and after a few minutes they're armored, heavy, and unable to be worn without the power suit. I imagine atomic goop might be necessary.
>>
Boosters. I want Iron Man-style boosters in our boots, hands, and suit in general.
>>
>>19179662
TWO light sabers.

Actually, light-sabers on our drites!
>>
>>19179606
I kinda like Drites, either we keep them or make new and improved better ones. Given that we've got giant piles of goop and money we can go for two heavy crushy claw drites with fucking howitzer level weaponry, two medium drites and two lightning fast ones that are meant for combatting fast opponents, slicing things with plasma blades and being a conduit for hacking.

We could go for a super modular suit made out of reactive metal and synthetic muscle that building material from one place to another on the fly, want small drites then the material goes to your arms for shielding or something like that, might be a bit far out.

Keep our armor modular as all hell, able to go heavy or light depending on the mission.

Something like Kell's cables would be nice, but might not be possible.

More power cores and shielding.

More boosters.

A lot of power cores and modular plug like things so we can just make the bare bones of things like the Javelin or other similar powered weapons and plug them in, rather than having to give them power themselves.
>>
>>19179662

Iron man style boosters. IN OUR DRITES. DRITE-FLYING. DRITE BLASTING.

>>
>>19179606
Can we get a little atomic goopy machine in the suit, as in making repairs on the fly, crafting ammo on the fly, it meas we can just have a supply of that around.

Swords, like the greatswords that CD has but wreathed in plasma, so it has the nice chopping melty of plasma but can still block stuff properly.

"Yeah, I can. The cool stuff about atomic goop is that you can make power cores with almost nothing."
"Boosters? Iron Man-style, so I can travel through the air"
"That can go with the extra power cores; I just make them into repulsion drives." Amy adds, and moves her hands in midair, as if moving physical objects.
"I'll keep the drites." You say.
"Fair enough-"
"Actually. . I'll get new drites."
"Oh?"
"Two heavy ones with 155mm autocannons, using the same firing mechanism with the Mjolnir. And power claws."
"Holy shit, Dave." She said. "What else?"
"Two medium drites. . "
"With what kind of weapons?"
"Plasma. Make them. . .Javelins."
"Got it."
"And then some very long, light 'drites, with plasma blades."
"Ooh, those will be useful for CQC. What kind of weight do you want the suit to be?"
"Well, make it light. . but add clasps so that I can attach armor based on the situation."
"Got it."
"What about. . atomic goop in the suit, set to synthesize and repair the suit, and make ammo for the autocannons on the fly?"
She paused.
Then she took off her goggles.
"And you call *me* a genius."

Why light? Medium worked pretty great so far, right?

Also, improved EMP shielding. Pretty much the only thing that can hurt us permanently.
>>
>>19179762
Would we be able to use any of those drites without our power suit? That's kind of important. Unless we make the armor light enough that we can wear it like a second skin. Or heck, really well made medium armor. Let's go with the really well made, tailored medium armor. Just make us look really muscular, I guess. Add a faux-skin coating.
>>
Drite BOOOOOOSTERS! Flying with drites! You know you want too. Imagine our maneuverability with a booster on the end of all our drites, capable of changing direction at the drop of a hat!
>>
>>19179787
>Pretty much, all three weight grades at once; it's just light when no armor is clasped on.
>>19179805
>You'd be able to use the light 'drites and medium 'drites without the suit, but the heavy ones are no go.

"Improved EMP shielding, too."
"Got it."
"And. . you know Kell's cables?" You say. "Any way we can replicate that?"
"Well, their very nature is similar to the mechandrites, so since I'm making the 'drites anyway, I can make a ton of miniature, cable-sized ones. Connected to the bullfrog, you can plug in just by touching something." She says. "Of course, the cables will get the extra EMP shielding, too."
"And Sigma's boosters? can we add those to the 'drites?"
"Just the drites? Hell, I could cover your entire suit with them." she said. "And you could probably use Onyx with the boosters for maximum mobility, even when wearing heavy plate."

>155mm autocannons
NIGGA WHAT. WE'RE MOUNTING FUCKING AUTOMATIC HEAVY FIELD ARTILLERY IN OUR DRITES? THE KIND THAT TAKES AN ARMORED VEHICLE OR A HEAVY TOWED CARRIAGE TO MOVE AROUND?

Check your measurements, Exabyte, DO YOU EVEN /k/?!

For the record. See this thing? This is a 155mm howitzer. We would need a superheavy armored platform to mount a 155mm autocannon. Even if we're just using the whole heavy drite as a barrel, we're going to be better armed than a modern MBT.... For one whole shot per drite, because there's no room to stick a store for 155mm shells!

Tone them down. For crimmeny's sake, man, that's just whacky! Tell me that was a typo or something!
>>
>>19179852
You are an absolute wonder to behold. Make sure to get something for yourself mind you. With all this stuff you could probably get stuff to cover your arms that isn't restrictive in the least.

I'll be crashy stompy, you'll be rolly slicey.

What else can we add? You have any ideas?

We should probably get something to deal with hordes of drones and other light stuff. Maybe a chaingun version of the Sigma's piercing gun.

Also we should have some modular equipment for circumstances, a sniper rifle kinda like Grayson's souped up death rifle, grenades up the wazoo, stuff like that.

What we stuck on last time was anywhere in the range of 25mm to 50mm (which would be just a tad excessive for an quickfiring autoloading gun) it was left vague. A bit small against much of anything above power armor and light IFV's upwards even with FUUTTUURREETTEECCH to compensate, but very serviceable.

While we could certainly mount something pretty big because FUTURETECH on our new heavy 'drite pair, 155mm howitzers are skimping the border between heavy and superheavy artillery. Just... How about 90mm? Again, still a bit obsolete, that's the caliber of an M67 recoilless rifle, and of course this would be a howitzer, not a recoilless rifle or autocannon, but hey. It isn't 155mm of oh-god-my-spine-just-shattered. Alternatively, something in 75mm? Anything so long as we aren't breaking the 100mm mark because that's just ccrraazzzy to mount tank guns to a man, heavy power suit or no.

Your name is Amy Tolstoy, and you just saw something horrible.

Dave's arched over, his head slack, and Project Immortal's standing there, grinning triumphantly- A large shard of shrapnel- from somewhere, you don't know, is jutting out of Dave's back.
"Oh god." Abel said over the radio, but you hardly heard him. "Dave's down. Everyone, get out. I'm activating his satellite. If we can get rid of Project Immortal. . "
"Abel, wait! Dave could be-" You cry over the headset.
He doesn't listen, and the sky bursts open, the clouds parting for the blazing spear.
You twitch your big toes, and the rollers on the bottom of your legs slip out with a slight buzz. You lean your ankles forward, and the motorized wheels burst into motion.

Kell's laughing, and backhands Dave, where he falls to his back. The sky finally parts, and then the orange beam embraces both cyborgs in the distance.
You scream something, but you don't know what.

Something hits you in the arm- your entire body shifts as one of your legs give out- apparently, it was shot too.
A powersuited man looms up toward you, and he raises his railgun at you.

Lucas dives into the way, and the shot blows him back. The pain in your arm is overwhelming, and you can vaguely hear Abel yelling at Omega about something.
>>
You never went back to Valhalla, even after you got your arm patched up and healed. There was something. . foreboding about going there, so you never did.

"Amy?" A voice calls. You get up, and ignore Ishelda, just as she ignores you, as you walk down the stairs.

"I see you're ready." Your mom says, smiling that fake smile of hers. "The party's due to start any moment now." She adds.

Is this what it's like to be normal, you ask yourself, as you greet various snobby people from across the world, as they mingle carrying glasses of what you assume is champagne. . wait, isn't that a stereotype? You disregard the thought, and just plaster that fake smile on. .
That is, until you see them.
They look. . familiar.
"Oh see, Amy, I'd like you to meet Mr. and Mrs. XXXXX. they own an estate in FutureNew York." Your mom says, still acting as the perfect hostess.

You sit up, and greet them. But then, before thinking about it, you ask. .

>I should note that I rarely do anything 'just because I want it to happen' or anything like that. There's either an underlying reason, or it serves the plot that I'm trying to push the quest towards.

Actually, I've found there's kind of an art to it. If you're careful, and leave things loose enough that the quest participants can still get what they want, you can just . . ease them into the plot. Or just use plot points when they become relevant.
