You are Gerald DeFlynn, and you were given Monday off instead of Tuesday for some reason. No wait, that's me.

After a very successful mission, along with a rather close encounter with something very dangerous, you made your way back to Sarah's home base, in the town of Cloverton.

After bonding a little bit, you went to sleep, and wake up early as always.

Your battle with Stone Age is the tomorrow, and you halve a whole day to prepare yourself.

Wake up, get a shower and make some breakfast. We have a good pile of Sinkers to sell off, we should see if we can do that here rather than having to drag them all the way back home.
>>
>>19104906
You actually already sold them. Which brings me to my next post

The sinkers sold brought in a total of 160,000. Aditionaly, you sold a Heldigunner, for a whopping 68,000.

General about 50% would go to the team funds. You, Audrey and Rick would then divide the rest between you.

How do you split the money? (80,000)
(Sarah already got her share)
>>
>>19104973
Half it.
How much would it take to fix up the Redhorn/Crimson Horn again?
>>
>>19104973
That seems like a good split, we might want to toss Rick a bit extra as he isn't technically part of the team, 50k or so rather than 38k or something like that.
>>
You get up from your cot and stretch. Audrey and Rick are still fast asleep. Looking around, you manage to find the location of the showers. Your not sure where the kitchen is located. You could try to search, either for the kitchen itself or someone to show you where it is. Or you could just shower now and wait for someone to show up.

>What do?
>>
>>19105047
about 180,000, with out the charged particle guns. To get those, you'd need...a whole lot more
>>
>>19105072
Shower first, we'll seek out the kitchen afterwards and if we bump into someone we'll ask.

Knock first and make sure we aren't interrupting anyone just in case.
>>
i think we should put in two upgrades into security
>>
>>19105060
Oh yeah, forgot about Rick. I guess split it 2650 and give him the extra 50?
We should take Audry out shopping, I dont think shes gotten paid before right?
>>
You should put your trip back on, OP.

I've missed a few threads, how are things with our romantic interest?
>>
>>19105088
It's 30k to fix it up if I remember right from an earlier thread. Adding more dakka and awesomeness would take more of course.

We should head back to our base, drop stuff off and celebrate our payday.
>>
>>19105096
(my trip was unzipped)

You make your way into the showers. Its made up of several booths lined up on a wall. Grabbing a towel that's handy, you undress and make your way down the wall. They're the type with doors at waist level, so you can easily tell if someone's in or not. You don't here anything anyway, so you guess its empty this early.

The first booth has some towels and clothes piled up in it, so you head down to the next one and-

"Aaah!" a regretfully familiar voice screeches. You instinctively freeze in place, and just glance to your left with the corner of your eye.
Sarah has already grabbed a towel and covered herself.
"DeFlynn, what the hell?!" she says, flustered. "What are you even doing up this early?"
"I always get up this time." you reply. Her face reddens further when she realizes you have the towel slung over your shoulder.
"Cover up, damn it!" she barks, shutting her eyes.

>What do?
>>
>>19105339
Quickly cover ourself up, say sorry for our state of undress and take a nice hot shower.

Ask where the kitchen is and if she likes waffles.
>>
>>19105339

>If she's the one we're courting

Cover up swiftly, and be unable to resist looking at her for a few seconds longer than appropriate.

>If she isn't, and is of appropriate age

Gyrate around a bit, "What, you've never seen one of these before?" before covering up.

>If she isn't, and isn't of appropriate age

Cover up and flee the scene
>>
>>19105422

Clarification: Option #2 should be done in a non-sexual, joking way that is making fun of her.

>See Zoids Quest the First
>Put in a name, age and silly "Molga Strong!"

Good show Zoid Mother. You do /tg/ proud. If I could make a suggestion for our next purchase? Fortifications and Security Level 3 sound good, and would only cost 38,000. With that bad organization after Audry, I'd say we'll need it.

Also, next time we think about selling a team zoid, we really should contact the rest of the team first. Just a suggestion.
>>
>>19105473
So you are the MOLGA STRONG man, I salute you. I hope we have done proper homage to that by MOLGA STRONGING people, fighting dirty and dropping buildings, caves and in one case ourself on them.
>>
>>19105473
i like the upgrades, i'd push it a step further and push for security level 4 though, it's really cheap after all in comparison to the other stuff
>>
>>19105508
Indeed. You know I didn't expect us to actually start with a Molga, I figured ZM was gonna give us a few starter zoids to pick from (though a Molga may very well have been among them, being like, the most common Imperial zoid and since we're of Imperial background...) and we'd choose. Still, we seem to have done great things with our little zoid.

If I could provide just a little constructive criticism for you Zoid Mother? Look over your posts before posting them. I realize it's rather petty of me to mention, but you've been consistantly mistaking here for hear, or the other way around, your and you're, that kind thing. It just looks more professional if you can nail those. Also, for situations where we may die, might I suggest implementing Fate Points like AC-Quest? Things we can use in ase of a really bad roll, or to burn should we just be plain done for (I'd assume our mom coming to the rescue would count as one of those burned points). Just a suggestion mind you. It's only that if we're always successful and never really in danger, it removes a lot of the challenge from the quest. Without risk there's no excitement, you know?

Other than that though, I love this quest. Please, keep it up!
>>
>>19105398
>>19105422
You cover up and make your way to another booth, but can't help sneeking a quick peek(you're a guy, after all). Her bust isn't anything to note, but her thighs are nice and healthy.
"You never seen a naked guy before?" you comment as you close the door behind you.
"I had a tooth pulled before, doesn't mean I like having it done, ass hat." she says back grouchily. "And there's something called common courtesy."
"You always shower this early?" you say, turning on the water.
"I don't have a choice. 'Common courtesy' is apparently a foreign concept to the jackasses on base, and I got tired of kicking their asses every time they peaked on me."

You wash yourself, and hear the sound of her foot steps after a moment. After giving her enough time to dress some, you call back to her.
"Would you mind showing me where the kitchen is later? I could go for some breakfast."
"There's not a lot on base." she answers. "You'd be better off going to a diner, the slobs here don't know how to cook a decent meal."
"Surely there's enough to make some waffles or something." you add as you finish rinsing. "I could make you some too, if you want."
She's quiet for a bit, while you dry off. "I guess you could try, if you want. You may not find anything you need, though."

>Fix some waffles for you both.

>>
>>19105612
Definitely fix waffles for the both of us. WAFFLES STRONG!
>>
>>19105612
Make a giant pile of waffles, enough for us, Sarah, Audrey and Rick. They won't be up for a bit, but waffles is one of the best things to wake up to, and if they don't wake up for a while we can keep it warm in an oven or something.

We will show them the family recipe our mother passed down to us.
>>
>>19105612

Call our mechanic, tell her we love her, that we're thinking about her, and that we can't wait to be reunited, but meanwhile we're making bank.
>>
>>19105473
I was gonna run with it, but a lot of people kept going on about how we were too old to hit on young girls, so I just retconned it.
>>19105569
I originaly planned to give you a choice between a Guysack, a Molga, or a Godos. Then I decided to give you your starting zoid based on your selected nationality, so you'd be Guysack strong if the Republic had been chosen.

As for situations where you can die, there are going to be very few at this point. You can loose, and run, or get caught, but I want to stay away from the 'lol you died' bit, since the main focus of the quest is going to be on the tournament fighting rather than all out war

It can happen though, and I'd like to keep the system I'm using as is.
>>
>>19105697
We definitely have gotten quite a bit of mileage out of the Molga, we punch outside our weight class with that baby.

Call up Eri after we make a giant stack of waffles.
>>
>>19105697
Alright, that sounds good then. So if our mom hadn't come to the rescue we'd have been captured instead or something? Makes sense. As for the tourney fighting, that's always good. If I could offer my own opinion though? I always preferred Chaotic Century/Guardian force and Genesis because they occurred during a time of war. the war and situations the characters got into lent a sense of urgency to the plot, that just wasn't there when losing meant simply not getting to the next tourney rank.

Now, I'm just going by my own tastes, but I'd be open to players ending up going for more plot and dangerous missions that have more risk. Again, this is just my own opinion. If you disagree then by all means ignore me. But I'd prepare something to give us purpose and spur us on to keep us motivated. Outlaw Star had their protagonists motivated by their need for money to keep from being broke. Guardian Force did it by having a war going on and a Mysterious Waif (tm).

Just my thoughts on the matter.
>>
>>19105652
>>19105658
You decide that, yes, you do indeed like waffles. Doot-dudu-du.

You follow Sarah into the kitchen, and find the supplies quite sparce, but you think you can manage. A little barely crushing here, some melting butter there, and you get some batter whipped up.

Sarah wakes Audrey and Rick, and by the time they join you, you have a veritable feast made up.
"Wow." Sarah comments at your workmanship. "Didn't know we had this much."
"You learn to get by with very little in the desert."

You all sit down to enjoy a hearty meal.
>What say?
>>
>>19105771
actually, without your mom, you would have died.

But I already planned her to show up at that point from the starts. Remember Gerald told his dad to call her for him?

That was a one time thing though. The point of that scenario was to both show how system freezes would function for you, and to show you that yes, you can fuck up, you can be beaten. and it will happen plenty more, unless you guys are really really careful.

Depending on how things go, I may shift the focus away from tournaments and odd jobs, but for now I just wanna see how things play out.
I agree with you on the series preference, for the same reasons, but this is easier for me to manage. Keep in mind that this is my first quest, and I'm still a newb at storytelling, if the first 2 or so threads didn't clue you in.
>>
>>19105791
Chat about what we'll be doing today. Ask for if anyone's got ideas on what to do to keep ourselves entertained, while keeping in mind that we probably want to get back to base at a reasonable time.
>>
>>19105791
My Mom taught me how to cook, useful skill I've found. You can find good pilots in lots of places, but lots of pilots tend to focus exclusively on just that, finding someone who can operate a stove properly is a godsend.

So folks, how did you enjoy yesterday's little romp in the ocean? Sure there was a massive fucking shark that we avoided, but there was also a pretty nice payday in there.

Hey Sarah who did the security and fortifications for this joint? We were planning on some base improvement ourselves and I was wondering if you had any good ideas of who to call.
>>
>>19105851
Ah, alright. Cool beans. Don't suppose you'd have an old throwaway email so I could contact you sometime to talk about Zoids? I literally have no friends who are interested in them, even internet friends.
>>
>>19105874

>>19105854
>>19105861
Sarah just shrugs. "Uncle got this place set up years before I got here, pored a lot of his money into it from when he was still active doing merc work. He overdid it, if you ask me."

"It is a bit much for something in the middle of town." you admit.
"Especialy with the other teams set up here." she says between bites. Your interest is piqued.
"Other teams?" you inquired. She blinks.
"You didn't know?" she states, taking a drink of milk. "Raptor's got its base here in Cloverton. Tyranno too." Huh, might not be a bad idea to check them out.
"Anybody got something they'd like to do before we head back to base?"
"I'd like to look around the flowers." Audrey pipes up. "There are a lot here." You nod mentaly. The region doesn't have much vegetation, even before the Great Cataclysm. You're right in the middle of a desert, after all.
"I was gonna see about looking up some info on aquatic zoids." Rick informs you.
"Still thinking about that one we saw?" you say. He nods.
"What WAS that, anyway?" Sarah interjects.
"I don't know," Rick begins, "but I can't take my mind off it. Yeah, it was scary, but at the same time, I couldn't help be fascinated by it."

>Walk with Audrey

>Walk with Audrey

Actual vegetation, we don't get to see that kind of thing often.

After we take a walk around the flowers and spend some time we should head on back, we need to fully prepare for the battle tomorrow and make sure we're all coordinated as can be.

Also see if there are any Zoids being sold here, we just got a pretty damn good payday and seeing if there is anything of interest to us or Audrey would be a good idea.

"Audrey, why don't we go look around the town together?"
She beams and nods enthusiastically. You finish eating and wash up. Sarah offers to show you around for a bit.

You leave the base and walk along the edge of town. Audrey goes to in fro in front of you, investigating every patch of blossoms. You smile a bit, as she continues her child like antics.
"She said flowers, but its mostly just clover and grass out here." you comment.
"Clover's some type that grows well in dry areas." Sarah informs you. "Just need a nearby oasis and you'll have a whole truckload. I like looking at them, it reminds me of my home town."

>What do?
>>
>>19106338
Home town? Where you from anyways? Anywhere I would know about?

Anyways getting some grass and clover is better then you get in a lot of stretches of desert. It's nice to see something actually verdant and growing, don't get me wrong, I adore the desert and the dunes, but it's a nice change of pace.

There a Zoid market around here? I'm figuring I'm eventually going to have to upgrade from the MOLGA and I'm checking out my options. It's not like I'm lacking in funds.
>>
>>19106375
This
>>
>>19106489
The talking part anway, I think we're good on zoids for the moment.
>>
>>19106495
I was mainly planning on window shopping and also checking if there was a good upgrade for Audrey. We need something pretty fast, maneuverable as all hell, preferably melee focused and not as damn fragile as a Demantis.
>>
>>19106375
Note the second post. We have a Heldigunner still, along with a Gordos with railcannons intact, and a Guysack. Oh, and a Malder if we're ever in the mood to play artillery support, though honestly it sounds more like Eri's bag than ours. And I think we should start restoring the Redhorn now. We can always upgrade to Crimsonhorn later, but for now it would give us a real mean edge to our team. Us in the Red Horn, Audrey in something fast (either the Demantis or the Heldigunner or Guysack perhaps?) Vince with his Hound Soldier and Eri in the Gordos. Because I believe ZM once mentioned that its railcannons are the biggest guns we have on the team, including the Malder and Cannon Tortoise. So yeah.
>>
>>19106375
"Just a little shanty town in the mountains,' she says as she looks up fondly, "you've probably never heard of it. Don't think it even had a name."

When asking about zoid markets, she tells you there is indeed one. "Just follow the mian street and you'll find it." She then gestures away near the center of town. "Over that way is a park, I'm gonna go there and get a run in. If you need me, I'll be there." She waves as she parts from you. Audrey has given chase to a butterfly, only to sit down in a large bunch of clover.

You spend some more time frolicking, or watching her frolic, at least, before you both head back to town for something to drink. It's still hot, even if you're near an oasis.
"Audrey, do you like your Demantis?" you ask your companion. She nods, still sipping her juice. "Would you mind using something else?"
She ponders a moment. "I don't think so, but why?"
"I'm just concerned. You remember when we had our battle?" you say, continuing when she acknowledges. "You crashed. Having light armor is one thing, but crashing, even in a sporting competition, you could get hurt real bad." She thinks quietly as you go down the road. "I 'd like to get you something that's safer for you to pilot. She smiles a bit.
"Okay, Mr Gerald. I'll try anything you'd like."

You make your way to the market, and find a few shops. There's a pretty good selection. Considering her specialties, you manage to narrow down some options. What do you examine?

>Gun Tiger
>Reddler
>Hammer Rock
>Zabre Fang
>>
>>19106845
If she's comfortable with flying, then Reddler. If not, Zabre Fang Gun Tiger seems a bit... I don't know, but I have a bad feeling about it, and the Hammer Rock doesn't seem fast enough, or have the natural weapons she's used to..
>>
>>19106845
The Zabre Fang looks like a damn good choice, it's a pretty alright solid all-rounder, it's got good speed, it's maneuverable, is good in melee and no slouch at range.

The Hammer Rock is a bit slow and doesn't really suit her.

The Gun Tiger isn't a horrible option but is light as all hell, it's not really that well armed and probably not well armored either.

The Reddler bears looking into, but the complete lack of ranged weaponry makes me nervous. It lacks a lot of versatility compared to the Zaber.
>>
>>19106953
Might be able to equip the Redler with some ranged weapons like the Black Redlers from Chaotic Century. They had those chain guns like the Dark Horns.
>>
>>19106845
"It's more what 'you' like Audrey, what you're comfortable with. And you dont have to call me Mister either, just Gerald."

Speed and close combat seems more of Audrey's tactic of choice, but we still deal with lower armor or firepower in exchange for that speed.

"I was thinking one of these four, What do you think Audrey?"
>>
>>19106845
We should go with the zaber fang since it's an all round more capable zoid and has a good amount of room for upgrades in terms of weaponry.
>>
Zabre Fang's a solid choice, definitely price that. Redler might be good just to have for the team. The Sinker we just got has some flight capability but having a for realz aerial zoid for recon, emergency bug-outs or what have you would be awesome.

You decide to look into the Reddler and Zabre. As it happens, they're in the same shop. You get the man behind the desk's attention, and go over prices.
"60,000 will get you a Redler as is. For 65,000, you can get one with hardpoints on the wings, and 2 vulcans in the nose. And for another 40,000, you can get a pair of booster cannons for it." You curl your mouth a bit. The Redler isn't much sager as it is, you're not sure how you feel about making it go even faster.

"As for a Zabre, standard loadout will be 75,000. Optional parts vary, so I'll leave that for when you decide."

You thank him for his time and go back to looking the zoids over. Audrey's fine with either.

>What do?
>>
>>19107143
Have Audrey's stats changed at all since introduction if so could we get her statline since that'll affect the decision a lot.
>>
>>19107143
Those booster cannons look terrribly un-aerodynamic. Let's get the 65k one. After asking Eri and Vince if they mind using team funds for it.

Audrey's Stats:
Shelling: 3
CRC: 5
Maneuv.: 5
Affinity: 3
Traits
Unusual Reflexes:
Can make an evasion roll, even while attacking.
Fast learner:
Picks up new things at incredible speed.
>>
>>19107143
I prefer the Zabre Fang, much more modifiable, much more versatile and better armed I think. Also better armored.

Call up home base, check for approval on using team funds to get a new zoid.
>>
>>19107204
yeah her shelling is no good so reddler with hard points is a good fit and we should get some minor harassment guns for them and we can set her up as our teams flyer.
>>
>>19107232
But it can't fly. Twin vulcans gives it a decent ranged punch, and the claws and tail blade play right into Audrey's CRC specialty. And I'd say it makes up for a bit less armor than the Zabre by being much faster and more maneuverable and able to fly.
>>
>>19107143
I'm voting for Zaber fang, though do you have the stat blocks for these?
>>
>>19107235
Even with the shelling problem we could get the zaber fang and adjust it go go as fast as possible and use it for close quaters combat. Though then again, we'd be throwing away one of her traits.
>>
>>19107263
Also before anyone gets any ideas I vote we should keep her original zoid as a back up rather than selling it. Especially if we get the zaber fang
>>
>>19107279
Of course, no need to sell it, It's small, takes up very little room and we're not exactly short on cash.
>>
>>19107279
Another reason we should keep it is because her organization is probably still looking for her, and if they find the Demantis, they might be able to trace it back to us.

Also, seconding the request for the Zaber's profile. And the Redler's with twin vulcans at that. Let's compare them.
>>
>>19107288
Yeah it just seems to be a trend lately, thats all
>>
>>19107303
We tend to keep at least 1 of each thing, we just didn't need two heldis.

Another good thing about the Zaber is that our mother pilots one and Audrey is a fast learner. When she comes by to visit we make puppy dog eyes at our mother and she takes Audrey under her wing for a bit and learns the way of stomping faces from a master.
>>
>>19107178
The Booster Cannons are pretty un-aerodynamic, but they have the advantage of making the thing SUPER FUCKING STUPID FAST in a straight line. This is actually PERFECT with Audrey, because of her unnatural reflexes always allowing her an evasion roll.
>>
>>19107337
Totally agreeing with this, that training would be really useful and it makes up for not using her Unusual Reflexes trait
>>
>>19107143
I vote for Zaberfang Also, This maybe a bit off topic but I advise Upgrading our Base, pumping fortifications to LV 3 while Storage and Security are LV 4
>>
>>19107351
Oh, they're a speeed upgrade? I thought they were a type of weapon. Herp.
>>
>>19107303
Remember a big part of zoids is the cash and although we have been lucky so far major damage or buying zoids that are above the basic models we have costs go up by huge amounts.
>>
>>19107356
Also agreeing with this. Considering the gold mine of zoids and the potential super villians after us it would be silly not to upgrade the base.
>>
>>19107375
I suppose you are right.
>>
Im voting for the Sabre, especially since flying inst high on the list of priorities at the moment.I cant help thinking that we could get something...more if we REALLY need a flyer.
>>
(don't have profiles made up)
(can't find decent Redler pic)
(ARGH! jpg)
(back with profiles in a bit)
>>
>>19107356
Agree with fortifications and security to level 3, maybe even security to level 4, but storage is fine for now I think. Specially with how expensive it is...
>>
>>19107372
They are a type of weapon. They're a pair of laser cannons attached to a pair of FUCKHEUG boosters.

And I'd personally grab the Redler with Cannon Boosters as well. If we get the Zaber the best thing would be to try and talk Mom into giving us the designs for her custom zaber
>>
We should really portion some of this cash to repairing the Red Horn and finishing repairs on the hound soldier (gonna need those cannons soon).

Obviously the End tier Zoid for Audrey would be a Geno Breaker.
Flys, has shields, has Claws for good melee, charged particle cannon, fast as hell.
>>
>>19107484
Yeah. But that sounds like it'd be rare as FUCK and expensive to match. Fucking charged particle cannons, how do they work?!
>>
>>19107444
We really can't afford to drop 180k right now, that's a bit much. Also if I remember correctly Mom didn't modified her Zaber that much, the devastation she brings in her wake is all her.
>>
>>19107502
We don't need food, we need Zoids.
>>
>>19107501
>>19107484
As much as I would adore a Geno Breaker/Saurer I don't think they're invented yet. They're based on reverse engineering the Death Saurer and we don't know if anyone has found and started working on that.

>>19107533
We also need to keep float for repairing Zoids and to upgrade our house with security and fortifications.
>>
>>19107557
IIRC, the Death Saurer came before the King Gojulous. And since that was destroyed in the great cataclysm, it's reasonable to assume that the Death Saurer had existed before then too. I think.

Ok, here's the Redler. Not the most maneuverable bird in the air, the Republics Raynos can best it in a dog fight somewhat easily. It can seriously mess up ground targets though, especialy ones that can't get out of the way of its blade.
>>
I think we ought to go with whatever zoid better suits Audrey's best skills. That's CQC and Manuv. Especially Manuv. since she has a special ability that benefits from high maneuverability.
>>
>>19107596
Oh, shit. The republic's already got Raynoses? Well then, if we get a flying zoid we should settle for nothing less than a Storm Sworder.
>>
>>19107502
Actually no, from the picture used, She uses what looks like A variant of one, judging by the Gattling cannon and such. Those things arent standard
>>
>>19107621
Neither is our Molga's hold out cannon. Customization seems to be easier to do in this AU.
>>
>>19107591
It did, it's a pretty old zoid but they were lost in the cataclysm. One was found later and reconstructed and reverse engineered though. Finding one would require a pretty lucky expedition.

If we were metagaming we could say we were heading to Mount Olympus to search for treasure.
>>
>>19107591
That reminds me!

>>19107596
ZM, I hate dreging shit up, but I was reading through the Battle Story and on the topic of the King Gojulas I found this:

>Helic, the pilot of the King Gojulas, abandons the damaged Zoid and returns home with Elena, who he finds during his escape.

That suggests the Zoid Core may still be alive, the zoid itself would probably look like scrap after 30+ years, but if you have the Zoid Core can't you revive the Zoid?

Woah, killer stats. Well, it seems like so far, most people want the Zaber Fang, with me and maybe one other dude pulling for the Redler. Can't argue with that, so might as well go fer the Zaber. Though the second we find a Storm Sworder, I say we go fer it.
>>
>>19107675
Dear god, she is dangerous as all fuck. Her stats are impressive alone and those traits are really damn good.

Well, it's better armored than the Demantis. Then again wet tissue paper is better armored than the Demantis so it isn't saying all that much.
>>
>>19107796
One thing to keep in mind: If Audrey faceplants in a Redler she'll be doing so at much higher speeds that in the Demantis. Kinda negates the armor benefit.
>>
>>19107817
Indeed, I think we should hold off on the flying zoids for the time being and get her into something manuverable and fast on the ground.

It's so balanced, I love it. Go for the Zaber.

Given that Audrey is a fast learner we'll spend some time tutoring her on shelling to make full use of the guns on this baby, she can already handle the zabres and claws just fine.

Also we can mod the hell out of it later if we so choose.
>>
>>19107825
Well fuck. I wanted the Redler but the Zaber is just plain better. Voting for it.

Go with the Reddler; having a flying zoid is useful. We're a sneaky/trickster type anyways, so aerial support to take the heat off our shenanigans would be nice.

We should also get Vince to tutor her, him in the hound her in the zaber. Oh Oh! Vince and her against mum in a practice match! She'll likely win but its a good opportunity for intense training.

Zabre it is. You'll have to clear it with everyone, but you doubt they'll object. Audrey goes over to a red one she likes, a fiery glint in her eye. It's rather unusual.

Of course she likes it, the red ones go faster. We should let her spend some time with it while we go clear it with the rest of the team and wire the money through.

Alone time with your Zoid is very important, they're sorta sentient/sapient and forming a rapport is the hallmark of a good pilot.

We should leave town pretty soon, we have a fair bit of ground to cover and I'd like to get some joint training in with Audrey and Vince to prep for the battle, also it'll give Audrey a chance to get used to the Zaber.

No problem. I'm running around letting everyone know.

Even Landing Gear.

Fuck Landing Gear.

We should head back home and make sure everything is set up with the molga and let Audrey get some practice in on the return trip.

Also is the year set in stone since a lot of the zoids that have been showing up are from the early 2100's. (I really want some of those zoids that showed up to fight Liger's so I'm nitpicking)

What would we personally do with a Konig Wolf, it literally has no guns attached. Audrey could make use of it, Vince wouldn't as I think he's pretty attached to the Houndsoldier for damn good reasons.

>>19108074
Would those certain projects include Shadow Foxes, that we paint desert and give tan smoke dischargers. Also Geno Saurers are pretty cool.

If we find a Gun Sniper we might want to keep it, damn solid choice for long range firepower.

Deciding to find Rick, you head out with Audrey to find...wherever it is he went to. You ask a few townspeople about where one might go to research zoids. They direct you to a library set up by the Zoid research institution.

You find Rick burying his nose in a book. You wander if he needs glasses with those squinty eyes of his.

"Hey, Rick" you greet, "find anything?" He looks up to you and shakes his head.
"Not a thing, dude. Just notes about extinct zoids and stuff. Not finding any material about new zoids being discovered."

You suggest researching technology being rediscovered, both from ancient civilizations, and what is only just being reclaimed from the Cataclysm. You and Audrey lend a hand.

You spend about an hour going over text, some things like electromagnetic shielding and charged particles jump out at you, but otherwise you can't find anything.

"This is a waste of time." Rick finally says, frustrated. "We'll never find anything, its not they'd just have blueprints of it out for us to see."
"Can't say I disagree." you admit.
"Let's grab some lunch, we'll need to head back soon."

You call up the base and explain your purchase.
"It was money you guys earned in the first place, so i don't really mind." Vince says over the phone. "Hurry on back, we'll need to prep for the battle tomorrow.

What about it? They were wiped out in the 2056 meteor strike IIRC, also they're absurdly slow and built for 1 thing, killing Deathsaurers, they aren't amazing at anything else. They're about as maneuverable as a beached whale, weight 600 or so tons, and their main weapon is a drill, which can only hit something even slower than itself.

You head over to the park Sarah said she'd be at. It's rather well furnished, with paved walkways, picnic areas, and gardens. Audrey gets lost in the sight as you look around for the red head. You spot her sitting on a bench. She's changed into some exercise clothes and seems to be taking a well deserved brake.

"Yo."
"Hey." she returns, taking another drink of water.
"Not going amazon today, I see."
"Huh?"
"Like commando, but with a bra, like back in the hanger yesterday."
Her face, already flushed, turns a bright crimson. She pulls back her arm holding the bottle, but seeing as how you already prepared to dodge, gives up and lowers it.
"Tried to keep you from seeing." she mumbles.
"Doesn't seem to work out, if this morning is any indication." you say casually.
She glares at you.

Rick and Audrey join you, and they both thank her for the stay. She relaxes a bit when Audrey asks if she can come visit again. She tells the girl to stop by whenever she likes.

"You heading out?" Sarah asks.
"Yeah, got a battle to get ready for. You do too, if I recall."
"Yeah." she follows you out of the park. "Oh, right, you want to check out the other teams here before you leave?"

You decide that you have enough time to at least have a look.
Sarah directs you to a much simpler hanger, though still having some fortifications.
"That's the Raptor team's base." Sarah explains. "It's just the two of them, no repair crew or secondary pilots and personal."

"Really?" Rick says in surprise, "how can they manage that all by themselves?"

"Who knows."

A young man comes out of the hanger. You recognize his face from the profile you went over before. He has a rather blank expression, and eyes you all.

"What is it?" he says soberly.

"Uh, just passing by." Rick states nervously.

Adam glances your way, locking his eyes with yours. His expression doesn't change, but you feel a heavy aura coming off him. You experienced worse before, though, and don't even flinch. What happens next does, though.

He kicks off the ground and throws a punch at you. You duck reflexively, but he throws another. You evade and punch back, but he dodges back as well. You box where you stand for a good ten seconds, the others too stunned to say anything. Finally you both punch at the same time, crossing your arm, each catching the others hand with their free one. You both stand still, gripping tightly. A small smirk plays on his lip.
"Not bad." he says.

Then a frying pan strikes the top of his head. He slumps down and falls to his knees.

"No! Bad Adam!" berates a blond girl standing behind him, skillet in hand. You recognize her as the other Ray sibling, Sasha.

>>19108890
Even so it's primarily melee focused which is not what DeFlynn is looking for in a Zoid. It has some ranged armaments but is still pretty weak on that front. We'd have to modify it an awful lot, and it'd still be a rather small and lightly armored Zoid.

>>19108922

You both pull the brother up, who's still a bit dazed. "I'm so sorry about that." Sasha apologizes. "Adam gets excited if he meets someone he thinks is strong."
"He does this often?" you inquire.
"Not really, usually both are in zoids."

Adam straitens up, and gives you a proper hand shake. "Just wanted to test you." he says in the same calm tone. "I can tell right off the bat, you're strong." He glances back at the others, Rick shrinks back when his gaze is on him. Adam simply turns his head away. "Weak." Rick looks dejected, and Audrey pats him on the shoulder. Sarah hasn't stopped laughing since the frying pan bashing.

Sasha leads Adam back inside, and you follow on her invite. You get a good look of both rapters. One has beam cannons on the backside, and multibarrel guns similar to a Tiga Godos's on the side of its forarms.

Then there's...woah, this thing is really different. No simple add ons, it looks almost like a completely new model. Some sort of blade on the head, which may double as a way to cut air resistance. The counter scythes have been completely replaced, leaving some rather devilish weapons in its place. You're suddenly glad you didn't pick them as your first opponent some days ago.

(cont)
>>
>>19109211
"So who are you guys, anyway?" Sasha asks.
"Oh, we're from a new team, Sidewinder." You say. "We actually just had a battle a few days ago, and we're getting ready for one tomorrow."

"Oh, I remember you now, you won your first battle."

"Here's hoping for another win tomorrow. How are you guys fairing?"

"We had a battle yesterday, against the Sand Stingers."

"They were hardly worth fighting." Adam comments dryly. "They only knew how to rely on their machines. Once I was in close all they did was panic. Pitiful."

"Adam, shh!" Sasha scolds. Rick hangs his head a bit.

>What do/say?
>>
>>19109217
Poor Rick, he's a good pilot who got saddled with a shit team.

Weren't they called Sand Strikers? Well I'm not going to try to defend the guys who piloted the Heldis, real class act those two, but the Sinker pilot far outclassed them, he's rather good at what he does.

So what brings you two here, and how do you manage this without a support crew or a mechanic? Those are some serious modifications you've got, you do them yourself?
>>
>>19109286
Sand Strikers was Ricks team. The Sand Stingers didn't like how similar their names were and challenged them.

Adam's talking down the team Rick's LOST to.

Ah, I can't keep them straight. Still not Ricks fault, he got saddled with some rather incompetent folks. So many people with Sand something in their name.

Talk Zoids and Zoid combat with Adam, he might be a crazy combat driven loon, but he seems nice enough.

"Sasha!" her brother cuts in. He shakes his head disapprovingly. "That's private. I don't want to share the story with these people."

The sister begins to protest, but resigns herself.
"Nothing personal." Adam adds. "Somethings aren't meant to be shared. Our parents...well, never mind."

The subject kind of dies, as does the conversation. You try to break the tension and ask about Adam's Raptor. Apparently the weapons on the back are called Reaper Scythes, and have Ion Chargers built directly into them, and can 'Over Charge', making the blade even longer and sharper.

"As for what else it can do, I'll keep that to myself. Would hate it if you were spying here." he jokes. Except you're not sure if its a joke.

You eventually run out of shit to shoot, and leave their base. Sasha wishes you luck.

"What a weirdo." Sarah says in exasperation. Rob's still acting a bit depressed.

Thats a matter of opinion, since Gerald is looking for whatever we say he is. Stats as well are not set in stone, and melee is something we'd have to start looking more at once we are out of the Molga and cant simply burrow our way out of close range combat. Quite a lot of them tend to either focus on it, or at least balance it, since zoids are not tanks.

"Shut it, DeFlynn. You've helped him already. If he doesn't pick himself up here, it's pointless." You look at her, then back at Rick. His face is a torrent of emotions, confusion anger, depression, and more. Audrey looks on, clasping her hands nervously.

Rick turns and walks away. "I'll be waiting at the Gustav."

"Rick, hang on!" you call.
"Leave him." Sarah says harshly. "I know you want to help, but he's got a big decision to make." Her face falls a bit. "I had to do the same thing a while ago."

You can't help but glare at her.

"You want to be angry at me, fine." she says. "It had to happen sooner or later."

You're right, it's just hard to see a good guy and a good pilot fall apart like that. Sometimes people need a forceful kick in the ass to pull them together and I'm really not that person most of the time, thanks.

I'll give him some time to stew, chasing after him seems like a bad plan, who are these Tyranno fellows anyhow?

She rubs her head. "I might have over done it there," she admits, "I just got so agrivated seeing him act like that, it reminded me of how I was after I lost to you before."

"I think we should go to the Tyranno's, I want to give Rick some time to himself."

"Yeah, ok, just follow me." She seems to be regretting what she did now, but what's done is done.

You reach another base after about 20 minutes. It's a bit...outlandish. It's similar to the Ray's place, but it has decorations and patterns etched into the stone and metal.

"I say," a man with a thin mustache says, having seen you aproaching. "It is the young Sarah Paler, come to call. And more company, as it were."

"That's Faust." Sarah says blankly. "And yes, he always talks like that."

Why hello there good sir, Gerald DeFlynn of Team Sidewinder at your service. it is an absolute pleasure to meet you Mr. Faust. I happened to be in the area when I heard there were other Zoid teams about and I just couldn't stop myself from coming to meet them and here I am.

"What a polite young man." he says cheerfully. He offers you a handshake. You accept it. Though you suddenly feel a great weight on you. He continues wearing his gentlemanly smile. "Yes," he says, looming over you, "I have high hopes for you indeed." He let's go of your hand, and heads inside. "I'm afraid I have business to attend to, so I must cut our meeting short."

You breathe in deeply, feeling short of breathe. Sarah walks beside you. "They call him the Black Plague." she says. "He's a famous mercenary and freelancer. The Tyranno team only formed a couple months ago, but they're currently 9 and 0."

"He's that good?" you ask.

"Uncle fought him once, years ago. It ended in a draw."

>What do?
>>
>>19109879
Remarkably polite for someone with that name. Though I could tell that he was scary as hell when he gave me a handshake.

But damn, matching up to your Uncle, if half of what I've heard is true is pretty impressive. What does his team usually pilot?
>>
we meeting the rest or heading home?
>>
>>19109908
"Originally, it was just him in his Arosaurer, and a few Godoses. But recently they got a Gojulas to replace one." Sarah tells you. "He still pilots his personal zoid though. Don't underestimate him. Just cause they're D-class doesn't mean they're low grade."

You nod, and straiten up. Not much sense sticking around. You've seen some future hurdles for your team, but first you have to make it through the battle tomorrow. You make your way back to the hangar

Rick is waiting for you when you arrive. He and Sarah have a tense glance between them, but he stays quiet. You say goodbye to Sarah, and load up the Gustav. You all leave Cloverton and start heading home.

["Hey, Gerald."] Rick says over the com.
"Yeah?"
["Is that offer to join your team still good?"]

You're in relieved silence for a brief moment. "Yeah. It is."

["I've decided."] he begins, determined, ["I'll join you."]

"What changed your mind?" you ask.

["Your friend back there was right. If I can't do something to improve myself, everything I do from here on is meaningless. So I'll keep fighting. I'll get the crap kicked out of me, and I'll fight some more. And when my skills finally improve, I'll go back and try again. My dream was to be a racer."] he chuckles a bit. ["But for now, I'll be a warrior."]

"Glad to hear it." you say as a smile creeps up your face.

"I'm very happy for you, Mr Rick!" Audrey cheers.

See you then. I am ready for MOLGA STRONG det cord shenanigans, I don't think anyone prepares for having a giant rope of det cord exploded under them to put them into a sinkhole, with a Molga. If you're buried underground and you're fighting a Molga, you tend to surrender very quickly.

"Mom! I'm sorry I forgot mother's day! Also, I'm not even in a zoid! You gave me a sling shot!"

You make the few hour long trip back to base. It's well into the after noon when you arrive. Once inside, you hop out of the Gustav.

"Hey." Vince says as he comes out to meet you all, and take a look at the Zabre.

"Hey V." you say. "Was thinking of expanding the base a bit with the money we got."

"We could use it, with all the new zoids we're bringing in. We could sell them, but having some backups is never a bad idea."

>What upgrade?(You have 164,000 team funds)

>Storage Lv3-60,000
>Fortification Lv3-30,000
>Security Lv3-8,000
>>
>>19113148
One of each. That mercenary guy's freaked me out, so Fortification and Security seem pretty usefull, and we prettymuch NEED storage upgrade at this point.

How long does this take by the way? And how do they increase storage? Burrow further into the Mesa?
>>
>>19113148
If we purchases Security level 3, how much would Level 4 cost?
>>
>>19113148
Up security and fortifications and repair the red horn.
>>
>>19113178
Why not wait until we can repair and UPGRADE the red horn into that other thing.

Also, how much personal cash do we have? could be smart to spend some of our dosh on another level of security if its gonna be cheap.
>>
>>19113169
10,000, it would start getting into some Mission imposible grade shit, like floor censors and infrared nets
>>
>>19113192
More for the fact that the red horn would probably be our most capable zoid for jobs/matches where stealth and sitting back with a big gun aren't options.
>>
>>19113201
For only 10K? Fuck yes. I vote if we can cover it easily to pay for that out of our pocket.
>>
>>19113192
Because a Red Horn alone is a _very_ powerful zoid, with a bit less firepower than a Gordos but with more speed and maneuverability, and more armor/weapons than a Zaber Fang. It's not like it'd be useless unless upgraded to the Crimson Horn. It's also way cheaper to fix it, something like ~30k to repair it, then another ~150k to get to Crimson Horn status. Also, customizing it to such an extent might take a good deal of time.

That aside, I vote for upgrading to Security 4, Storage and Fortification 3.
>>
>>19113192
You have personal funs of nearly 50,000, you could repair it with that easily
>>
>>19113221
True. I propose a truce.

>>19113220
What he says, and repair the Horn out of pocket. Should give us more leway to use it as a personal project then actually, if we found it, and paif for the repairs solo.
>>
So one upgrade each, plus another in security with personal funds?
>>
fuck yeah
im surprised you guys want to upgrade stuff other than security but im alright with that
>>
>>19113237
That does seem to be the consensus. And then repair the Red Horn with personal funds.
>>
One thing we probably want to do is to go through at least one practice battle before the actual fight. Like, put together a mock up of the Elefander and have us test the Det Cord to make sure it will work as planned. If there are any nasty surprises waiting for us, I'd rather we found them out now rather than during the battle.
>>
>>19113280
>>19113287
Vince smiles. "Dipping into your own pocket huh?" he says.

"Yeah, it might be a good to bulk up our defenses on base."

He pats you on the shoulder, and sticks something in your hand. You look and see its 800 credits worth of bills. "From my personal stash. It's not a lot, but try and make good use of it."

You thank him, and he makes the call for the necessary equipment and supplies.

>What do?
>>
We want the Red Horn repaired mostly as an ace in the hole, and I feel like with our current bend toward a bit of paranoia, we could really use said ace in the hole. So yeah, upgrade everything once, fully repair and rearm the Red Horn (if feasible).
>>
>>19113351
Clearly, this 800 goes into our "Taking Eri to nice places" fund.
>>
>>19113351
Howcome none of the others go and do personal missions? I mean, we've probably made like 200K easily just doing missions, I'm sure if Audrey and Vince did duo work without us they could have 50K in the bank aswell.

>>19113365
Seconded. Let us NEVER tell Vince what we really spent it on.

Also, how's our ammo situation?
>>
>>19113351
This 800 is now our take Eri on the most bitching dates fund.

Ok, check on our Molga and see how the det cord operation is going.

Get in the Molga and have Vince and Audrey get in the Hound and Zaber. Get some practice in, get Vince and Audrey to practice coordinating together, they're going to need to be good at working together to keep those guys pinned down where we're laying the det cord, give Audrey a chance to get used to the Zaber.
>>
>>19113351
Sarah mentioned paintball mock battles she did before doing real Zoid fights.

Is there any chance we can do stuff like that for practice?

You head over to the Molga. It's fully repaired and looks ready to go. You don't see Eri around, but you open the canopy and go over the controls. You find the new commands for the Cord layer, and mentally calculate how to use it.

"Welcome back, hotshot." You look up and see the amber haired girl peering down at you.

"Hey, Eri, everything set up?"

She nods. "Got the cord and the mechanism ready. Need a test run, but it should work fine."

You talk about some of your Molga's components, particularly the Blaster cannon.

"It over heats?" she says inquisitively.

"Yeah, I can only manage about 2 shots a minute. Leaves a big heat signature too."

Eri taps her chin. "I hooked it up so it could draw power directly from the core, guess I need to install some vents and heat sinks. I can get it done by tomorrow, probably."

"Your an angel, Eri." you say suavely. "Now we need some practice in. Wanna help?"

She blinks in suprise. "Help? How?"

"I need a target. The Gordos is around the same size as the Mammoth. Think you can give me a hand?"

She thinks about it. "I can't say being a practice target is the most faltering job, but ok."

A while later, you're both out side some distance from the base. You in the Molga, her in the Gordos.

>How test?
>>
>>19113636
Have her fire a feww test shots at use as we dig, then tunnel under her and use the det cord. Even if it works and collapses the Godos, that shouldn't do much more than superficial damage, right?
>>
>>19113664
We could just go without the det cord and test it separately to see if it can successfully drop the ground out under an empty zoid.
>>
>>19113677
Well I mean, if we're not going to test the det cord then what are we testing? Our ability to burrow? I think that's been demonstrated before.
>>
>>19113636
See how much det cord it takes in how large an area to bury the Gordos. Get a feel for our new sneaky bastard weapon.

See how the det cord feels to use, how deep it buries stuff, how far away the Molga has to be to avoid any collateral damage.

When we're in the actual fight we're going to either need to have Audrey and Vince keep them at a location, or make the giant pile of det cord and lure them onto it.
>>
>>19113695
You dig down as Eri starts to move the Gordos. You you your seismics to gauge where she goes, and dig in front. Hitting the command, you begin releasing the cord as you go, and once you have almost a circle around her, you press the button to release it. A few seconds later, the entire cord detonates. The rumble actually shakes you a bit in your seat.

["No good, Gerald."] Eri calls you over the com. ["It was too wide, the ground didn't collapse."]

>What do?
>>
>>19113722
Good to know, so it'll probably have to be a tighter circle much more directly under it. Good thing we tested it first. Try making a smaller circle under it, also test out making more of a somewhat wide straight line in order to to collapse it and get its front half stuck deeply in the ground, we don't need to completely collapse it, if we stick it like that it's a complete sitting duck and we can just fire half a dozen sand shooter rounds straight into it's underbelly.
>>
>>19113722
Rather then making it a circle, a downward spiral.
We want to 'drill' downwards, the explosion might be enough then to make a sudden sandtrap as the gordos would fall with the gap on the drill and the sand around would quickly fill it in.
>>
>>19113778
>>19113778
This man has the right of it.
>>
>>19113771
>>19113778
You first try a tighter circle. It's tougher to get it laid out fast enough. It detonates, and Eri stops momentarily, then continues on. She tells you the ground collapsed that time, but not very much. The Mammoth is faster than the Gordos, to begin with, so that won't work if it isn't being pinned down completely.

Next you double back in front, laying parallel lines of cord. It detonates.

["Eep!"] Eri cries out, the front of the Gordos falling down a ditch. You take the time to spiral around and under her, similar to back in the mine, though much faster. You detonate once more, and the Gordos sinks completely.

["I think you got it."] Eri comments shakily. ["This won't work as well in sand, keep that in mind."]

"Thanks for your help, Eri." you say.

["Anytime. Now go get the Tortoise and crane, I'm stuck."]

You make your way back to base, and see that Audrey is out in her Zabre, running and leaping. Vince chases her in the Hound, and she tries to evade as best she can.

>What do?
>>
>>19113922
That wasnt a drill at all, that was a ditch

I hope that's practice, "Giving your new zoid a test drive Audrey?"
>>
>>19113922
Watch the festivities for a bit, this ought to be good training for Audrey. Those two getting an idea of how the other works is necessary for our plan.

After we retrieve Eri from the sinkhole we put her in we should get in the Gordos ourself, the closest thing we have to the Mammoth and have those two practice penning us in and herding us towards a certain area.
>>
>>19113945
The ditch just gave us enough time to do the drill. It was a time buying measure to let us get a deep pit right under them.

>>19113964
"Having fun there?" you call to them.

["Hello Mr Gerald."] Audrey says as she hops over Vince. The Houndsoldier kicks its back legs up and knocks her out of the air.

["Don't think you're safe just cause I missed the charge."] Vince instructs. ["Plan your next move ahead of time while looking out for counter attacks."]

["Y-yes!"] she says as the Zabre rights itself.

["The Zabre has more weight, but that also give it a greater center of gravity, use that to your advantage."]

>Advice
>Fetch the Crane Tortoise
>>
>>19114037
I'm assuming the crane tortoise is to help eri out of the hole? If so, then go get it. Let Vince have his time with Audrey and being a teacher, we needn't stick our noses into everything.
>>
>>19114037
We can give some tips while we move, but really Vince is a good pilot, and we dont want to stick around and leave Eri in a ditch somewhere alone for a while,.
>>
>>19114037

>>19114092
"Just listen to Vince and you should get the hang of it." You say.

["Thank you, Mr Gerald."] Audrey answers.

You retreive the Cannon Tortoise as well as the Gustav, and head back to Eri. You pull her out quickly enough, and you hand her some water.

"I feel so tired recently." she comments.

"You've been working a lot. Maybe you should take a break after our battle tomorrow."

"I'll take a break when I can take a break." Eri says. She smiles at you. "Thanks for the thought."

The sun is starting to go down.

Take no ifs ands or buts, she is to enjoy the dinner you cook for her, sip some wine, and then go to sleep.

It's not like you dont know how to fix a zoid yourself.
>>
>>19114162
Make some dinner. We'll want to force Eri to take a break after getting the heat sinks and vents up on the Blaster Cannon, we want that working by tomorrow. When she finishes it we'll make her take a nice hot bath and give her a massage and some wine.
>>
We should really buy some ammo.

>>19114213
>>19114243
You offer to make dinner once you make it back. She doesn't mind taking it easy for the moment. She poors herself a bath while you head to the kitchen.

You make a simple meal for everyone, and discuss the upcoming battle.

"I think our best bet is to first bait them into a battle of atrition, make them think we're trying to wear them out." Vince says. "Then you can slip in through their defense lines and ground the Mammoth. Before that, though, you need to try and not burrow or cloak. They'll be wary of you the moment you disappear, so we need as large of a window as possible."

That sounds reasonable enough.

Makes sense, you think you and Audrey can work well enough together at this point to direct where he's going to my trench or drill hole, without him thinking he's being herded into a trap?

How was training with Audrey, she getting the hang of the Zaber?

I think once we take down the Mammoth we should be able to finish them off without much trouble.

Is the Hound in full fighting form, does it have "that" which you didn't have on it earlier?
>>
>>19114566
The cannons were installed yesterday.

"I've gotten used to the Zabre Fang." Audrey says cheerfully. "I think me and Vince can do our part alright."

"We can't relax just because the Mammoth is grounded." Vince adds. "They've probably prepared for situations like that. After the Mammoth..." he thinks seriously. "The Zabre, we need to take him out quickly."

You understand what he's saying. The enemy Zabre has as much firepower as the Mammoth, and is much faster and more agile. Audrey might not be able to match him. Vince and the Hound should be able to take him, though.
The sun has set, what do?
>What do?
>>
>>19114782
Uh..... watch the enemy team's previous matches for an hour or so, in case there's any weakness we can find with their formation.

And snuggle with Eri!

She said she's been feeling tired lately. May need to take her to the doctor. Check her temperature n stuff.

I agree, though given the Tortoise's speed we ought to be able to gang up on the Zaber.

I'll call mother and see if she has any tips and tricks for completely screwing over Zaber Fangs that we can exploit then we'll watch through replays of Stone Age's previous match ups, see if there are any holes, patterns they fall into that we can exploit and so on.
>>
>>19114829
This, we should probably introduce Eri if we're getting a bit serious aswell, I mean, our mother and father are kinda crazy, but less so over a phone it seems.

You and Eri sit down in front of the screen and play the match between Stone Age and Coyote again. It's the only match they've had so far.

"Maybe you can circle them?" Eri offers. The Coyote's don't circle around, but they do divide up and try to push through. They all get intercepted by either the Zabre or the Geruder, while the Mammoth repositions.

"That won't work, but it might distract them enough to use our real plan." you comment.

She rests her head against you. "Let's do something after the battle. Maybe visit your parents."

"Mom's hard to get in touch with." you say. "She doesn't like much attention so she doesn't have a base for herself. I could introduce you to Dad, though he's more likely to hit on you than anything."

She chuckles. The battle ends, and you turn the monitor off. "Guess it's time to call it a night." You both walk down the hall, and she gives you a tight hug. "Good night, hotshot."

"Night grease monkey." she shoves you playfully.

"You better win tomorrow."
