    The year is 2025.
Your name is Dave, and you never asked for this.
Once a generic white-collar worker who lived alone save for your cat, you were hit by a car and spent three months in a coma.
You awoke to find that your unconscious body had been taken in by the corporation 'Emulsified Electronics', and implanted with an experimental augmentation. You soon found that it allowed you to control electronic devices with your mind. And if Jun's theory is right, your power is only going to grow...
At almost the same time, it came to light that the company called Cadmium Dynamics had hired a PMC, ArmaTek, and started to mobilize against EE. However, you and your companions have been almost too much for them, defeating them at nearly every turn.
Just after you thought you had a breath of fresh air, a new corp showed up, mostly utilizing some kind of stealth technology. After coincidentally finding one of their agents, they named themselves Kawasagi Infinite.

    >Abel Rowling: Your coworker\drinking-buddy. Used to be your roommate years ago before you got him a job at the place you worked. He's currently hiding out in a safehouse, and apparently was trained to be an Agent.
    >Jun Viridian: The 38 year old neuroscientist who implanted you with the prototype, and from what you can tell, was the one who designed it. With your help, she has her son again.
    >John Grayson: A security specialist and agent who works for EE. He has implanted forearms and broad shoulders. He used to be military, and you currently owe him a favor.
    >Verne Tolstoy: A quiet, overweight man who used to be a cop. Most of his internal organs are all augmented versions, and he has an augmented arm; Ever since a mishap with an EMP, he's been unable to do any kind of mercenary work.
    >Amy Tolstoy: A teenage mercenary girl with neon hair, augmented legs, and a wrist computer full to the brim with random AI constructs. She has all sorts of strange friends. Now works for EE as a researcher, technician, and agent. Is somewhat keen on Dave, but he's just starting to realize that.
    >Azure, Onyx, Cyan, Magenta: Your bullfrog's three onboard AIs; Cyan specializes in networking, Onyx operates your teleportation device, Magenta specializses in combat, and Azure bridges the gap between them. After an intense integration session between Azure and an enemy AI, Azure had changed.
    >Mark: The mechanic who works for EE in B-4, building and maintaining the gear of all Agents. He's a capable pilot and has saved your skin multiple times. Shares your love of mechandrites.
    >Lucas and Lucca: Two sibling agents from another corporation. Lucas is some kind of 'goddamn ninja', while Lucca is a high-strung agent with a Gen-3 implant.

It contains little circuitry, and instead of a power core, it's powered by the agent's own bioelectronic energy. As you focus, you find that it isn't very difficult to shut down- not for you, anyway, so you deactivate the entire suit. He freezes up and falls over, his entire body rigid.

They attacked Abel for some reason, so I attacked them.
    >> Anonymous 05/12/12(Sat)17:18 No.19081281

Why are we fussing so much over the corporate politics? If KI really cared about diplomacy, then they wouldn't have shot one of our agents. We'll get our answers one way or another, but there's no reason to dance around this issue. They shot one of our agents. A massive shitstorm has been caused. The situation can hardly worsen.

We are not a twinkle-toed diplomancer motherfucker, though we don't shy away from diplomancy now and again. We're prone to brute force over finesse. Either there's a misunderstanding that lead to someone getting shot and the someone with the gun getting his ass beaten, which I'm sure KI would understand, Abel was being an espionagey fuck and digging too deep again and KI decided the best way to handle him was to shoot him with faggot drones, not realizing that EE's band of agents doesn't take kindly to its own coming under fire, or KI was just pulling a preemptive attack to be cunts, meaning we've taken away one of their weapons. We'll sort it out.

Explain the situation plainly. Abel was shot, we responded by neutralizing the threat, because they shot us, too, when we had only come to his rescue, and came at us with swarms of drones and three fucking stealth gunships. The threat happened to be KI agents, and we're still not certain what exactly ignited this shitstorm. So we're going to put this stink out.

"And then." You say. "The drones shot at me. So I left Amy and Abel to get to EE, went and found the IDW controlling the drones, and did what I normally do."

You collide with the beast, digging into it's flesh as it digs into you, rending claws tearing apart your skin. You bleed as you bite into the winged beast, digging your way into it. It almost starts to feel like. . clay. .

You dig yourself into the beast's skull, crawling through it's eye socket.

AALLLRIGHTY THEN. CRITICAL SUCCESS. We're going to be getting everything we could possibly get from these idiotic thugs, AND from any physical archives of knowledge they have around. Papers, slates, computer data, jack into their spines with one of our cords if we have to, we've got everything we could concievably need about what Resurgence, exactly, is.

Have we derailed another session, plot or struggle, Exabyte? How I hope we have, if only for the hilarity it will cause.

Just as planned. Can we do our best to unfuck the thug whose gut we slit open, too? Sure, he's a cunt and we're not exactly a doctorin' type, but it'd make for a delicious am-I-really-the-monster-you-think-I-am moment.

    <Cyan, I need information terminals.> You say.
<I don't sense anything. No terminals, no laptops, no PDAs or even smartphones. It's like they're luddites or something.>
<Wait. . I did find a terminal. But it's very well jammed.> He says, and points you to it.

You walk through the dark building, approach it, and then connect your cable to it. And what you find is a wealth of information.

<Welcome to Resurgence. We are a small team of expert agents who are disgusted and appalled at the direction the world has taken. Collateral damage from megacorp warfare, skeevy lawyers, unfair contracts. People who ignore the law and pave over it with money. We're here to destroy them and save the world.

We twenty seven people are all that Resurgence is. We shall all have a number. None of us shall know eachother by name, only by number. I am number Twelve. You'll know me, for I am the intelligence of the operation. I'm leaving this message at each terminal, each cell of three. You three are cell nine. Your mission, should you choose to accept it. Infiltrate EE, and kidnap the agent known as Bullfrog. Otherwise known as Dave Davis Davidson. Keep him there until cell eight arrives. Good luck.>

Since we're not going to be caught unawares by their dickass dartguns again- speaking of which, have Azure try and synthesize an antitoxin so that doesn't bother us again- and will be fully armored, they'll be buggered unless they have some serious tech with them. And since they're 27 guerrillas who practice luddite assholery, they aren't going to have jack shit that could disable us.

We could bug out of here. Or we could sew up the asshole's gut, bind them all to their chairs in a discreet enough manner, and then leave them there to be found and ambush the cell. A hostile takeover, perhaps? By US? I mean, we do have the biggest, most valuablest bit of property in the company; the Bullfrog.

No need, really. Our consciousness, as far as Exabyte has said, is the same as it was. We aren't in a Star Trek teleporter dilemma or anything, the Bullfrog functioned as an extension of our brain and then became it when our real brain couldn't take it anymore and popped like a balloon. I'd say we might be more vulnerable to electronic attacks than if we'd kept our brain, but... Our mind, Dave's mind, is an organic computer stored in a synthetic format. I think that makes fucking with our brain virtually impossible by the means one would use to affect a biological brain or a synthetic computer, because we are wholly unique.

Exactly. Drugs don't work, because they effect only a biological brain; technically, as of where we left off, Dave is still so drugged he wouldn't be conscious.

It's not something you should do lightly, not at all- disconnecting from Dave's body means the body dies once and for all. But theoretically, it's possible.
    >> Anonymous 05/12/12(Sat)22:29 No.19084889
We should put that booster system on our drites. Then they can snap around at bone breaking levels, and since they're mechanical we can build it to engineering specs rather than human body safety levels.

What if we undergo a very complex full-body augmentation, practically turning the whole thing into machine and synthetic muscles/organs? Could it operate or at least persist independently?
I mean, the technology for it is already there....

    >The reason Dave's body would die is because he stops his heart beating, and everything eventually shuts down and rots. However, if you implant something like a pacemaker or whatever, you could leave the body and stay in a coma. . But that would be very strenuous on Dave's identity of himself.

Well this new thing with our brain is going to really force us to reevaluate the nature of sentience. Given that we have literally everything of our brain in the bullfrog we are going to have to come to term with the fact that all we are is a pattern of information that interacts with the outside world. As long as we remember that we love our cat, like BLTs, remember our friends and our feelings for Amy. As long as we keep that in mind, or Bullfrog as it may be, we ought to be able to do this.

I don't think you have adjusted our bank account after we got upgrades from Mark.

Also, some of the descriptions need updating too. Like Amy's ("Is somewhat keen on Dave, but he's just starting to realize that."), Grayson's ("and you currently owe him a favor.") And AIs ("Your bullfrog's three onboard AIs;")

Anyway we could be promoted and climb the ladder enough to become a Director of the company? Or any of our allies?

We should assist her in that, she's competent and is completely on our side.

Also whoever slit their throats is really damn good, as in we have 360 degree vision and if they were augged or used anything electronic/complex we would have noticed them immediately.

We're up against someone who probably takes on cyberzombies, armored and powersuited soldiers with nothing more than a knife and a gun. We're up against fucking Kenji from Eden.

Normally we notice the complete lack of something. If they can cloak and make it read the exact same as background energy/heat/ect. then we wouldn't notice the cloak. But I can't see that working perfectly on something that moves. There would be a slight lag that we could notice.

Just on a whim, this is roughly what all of the main EE character have on terms of equipment. this is all subject to change according to my whims or on the characters' upgrades.

Grayson: Overclocked gauss rifle, Heavy power armor, Railgun revolver
Amy: Power shield, Dragon's Breath, Knife, gauss uzi, shitton of explosives, Roller legs, Overcharger legs.
Abel: Customized headset, Handgun, computer stuff.
    Jun: a labcoat I guess?
    >> Anonymous 05/13/12(Sun)00:07 No.19085828
    Power Labcoat?

We should tell Amy to start working on a stealth field and thruster jets for her own stuff, it makes more sense for her than us and we can get a good team dynamic going, we're the hammer she's the scalpel.
    >> Anonymous 05/13/12(Sun)00:09 No.19085847
    What's Dragon's Breath again?

    >Grayson: Overclocked gauss rifle, Heavy power armor, Railgun revolver
    >Heavy power armor

Damn son. Grayson would totally benefit from shoulder mounted weapons. Heck, he could have bigger racks mounted on his back.
    >> Exabyte !SIL6URyblU 05/13/12(Sun)00:12 No.19085881
    >Dragon's breath is the PLASMA SHOTGUN that you could have had if Dave hadn't chosen the javelin instead.
    >Also, It isn't as customizable as the medium suit; there are no places to attach anything. And he has a jetpack on the back because that's what the medium suit comes with.
    >> Anonymous 05/13/12(Sun)00:19 No.19085942
But can't it be slightly modified? I mean, I can't see why our techies wouldn't be able to do that... Or would he lose protection if he does that? If so, then he'd need to choose between more firepower or armor.
    >> Exabyte !SIL6URyblU 05/13/12(Sun)00:23 No.19085993
Essentially, yes. The difference between the medium and the heavy sets are that the heavy sets contain enormous, rigid plates, while the medium has a larger number of smaller plates attached to the outside of the suit. In rough and probably incorrect terms, it's like the difference between plate armor and scale-mail. Upgrading medium armor is easier because you can just remove a plate or two to make room for the upgrade, but if you try that with the heavy, you'll end up removing a lot more armor.

    >> Anonymous 05/13/12(Sun)00:28 No.19086036
Shame. Grayson still needs more dakka, either mount some stuff on the shoulder perhaps or just do what CD did and give them a massive sword and a chaingun designed for a helicopter.
    >> Exabyte !SIL6URyblU 05/13/12(Sun)00:30 No.19086054
Grayson's actually quite fond of his current dakka. When he's not working or beefing up security, he spends most of his time with Mark, further customizing it, and the rest of his time in the training room, learning out how the customizations mess with it's performance.
    >> Anonymous 05/13/12(Sun)00:32 No.19086071
It's a great piece of dakka I admit, it's modified to the gills and amazing, especially for long ranges. But having a chaingun to cover midrange/horde combat or just to spray bullets everywhere would be nice and something to help him closer up if it comes to that.
