    >For the Biotic Powers where Force is listed. I'm going with damage being caused by the force of hitting an object or in special circumstances, fall damage from being thrown off something.
    >1d10 for every m/s you're going into an object. In most instances. So for a maxed out throw you're looking at about 6d10. A 190 pound guy being thrown back through the air at about 12 miles per hour hits the wall and gets an owie in other words. Sorry, I'm looking for realistic numbers.

On this note, I am going to bed. I look forward to your input in the morning gentlemen. Work tomorrow and body willing we'll start tomorrow night about 9:30 with a small session and then most of Sunday.

Spotted an issue, Shockwave radius 1 meter per impact and Nova's is a full 2.5 meters.
Rule of Cool is going to apply for most of those measurements though.
As for Charge? It doesn't get a radius, you hit what you hit.

I don't know what this is, but please fucking change that to magazine unless for some reason you have PISTOLS and SHOTGUNS that use CLIPS
    >> Mick824 05/05/12(Sat)00:56 No.18982824
when we say clips and mass effect is involved, we mean Thermal Clips, why aren't they called thermal mags we have no idea
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)00:58 No.18982843
Because clip and magazine are used interchangably by people who don't know (or need to know) the difference.
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)00:58 No.18982847

The things in mass effect shouldn't be called "clips" or "magazines", because they are neither.

They should probably be called "thermal sinks", since that's what they are.
    >> Mick824 05/05/12(Sat)00:59 No.18982856
like for example: the dev team than worked on mass effect
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)00:59 No.18982860
always imagined it as a serrated heat sink so it looks like a clip instead of a solid magazine
    >but it is called a thermal clip
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)01:00 No.18982863
Personally, I prefer the Mass Effect version to the later ones. I understand the need for the switch in gameplay terms, but the concept behind the NO REALOADING EVER guns was solid.
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)01:00 No.18982867
this makes it more like ME2's charge (worth less... not worthless, but close)
    >> The Illusive Man !!YhRfZU/QcTP 05/05/12(Sat)01:01 No.18982869

It honestly doesn't matter, in universe they went from guns that had unlimited ammo but just had to cool off to guns that eject these "thermal clips" when you've fired sufficient rounds that are interchangeable between all firearms.
I don't argue with the fluff, I just use it.

No, I'm thinking about doing a short one tomorrow night though after work to get some of the interactions out of the way. Introduce some more plot!
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)01:01 No.18982875

And possibly also because a magazine specifically stores and feeds ammunition, whereas a clip loads ammunition INTO a magazine for eventual feeding.

And what that has to do with one-shot heatsinks that magically morph into one ammo type when picked up and never change again, I don't fucking know.
    >> The Illusive Man !!YhRfZU/QcTP 05/05/12(Sat)01:03 No.18982885

    I'm not giving it radius...at level 1.
    We'll talk

ok, dropping the non-quest subject now
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)01:05 No.18982905
no no no, i like the 'use powers wisely' instead of playing biotic superball
    >> Mick824 05/05/12(Sat)01:10 No.18982964

    >Biotic Superball

now i see a vanguard chain-combo up his Charges one after another until he becomes a Biotic Pinball Of Death
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)01:12 No.18982975
shaved 4 hours off my other best playtime as vanguard in me3
    >> Braith117 !!p+mQRoefJzS 05/05/12(Sat)01:13 No.18982992
But playing that way was entertaining.

That reminds me, has anything been done with that Geth shield modulator or is that upcoming?

    >> Mick824 05/05/12(Sat)01:28 No.18983137
i have two questions one is kinda dumb so i'll ask that first

    1. are these all the skills we know?

    2. can we learn new skills and/or talent outside out class?
    >Captcha: brazoo shakespeare.

not sure where you're going with this captcha but you colored me curious
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)01:29 No.18983147
I think this is all we know, but we might be able to pick up some more (we did pick up Nova after all)
    >> Mick824 05/05/12(Sat)01:29 No.18983148

    i meant *outside our class
    >> Fallen Knight of /tg/ 05/05/12(Sat)01:32 No.18983171
Hmm, now that i think about it, we need to pick up a persuasion skill, gotta learn how to manipulate after all.
    >> Braith117 !!p+mQRoefJzS 05/05/12(Sat)01:34 No.18983186
I think the last time we did persuasion we just had Kerrigan sweet-talk the arms sergeant.
    >> Mick824 05/05/12(Sat)01:38 No.18983202
what i meant by "skills and talents outside our class" i mean skills such as Stasis, Overload and so on
    >> Mick824 05/05/12(Sat)01:39 No.18983212
i figured we'd level up our persuasion skills via roleplaying
    >> Anonymous 05/05/12(Sat)01:40 No.18983213
Kerrigan is an engineer, if we're lucky, we might be able to convince her to teach us a few tech skills (aka we might be able to convince people we know to teach us)
    >> Mick824 05/05/12(Sat)01:55 No.18983305
i've always wondered since the start of this quest whether or not other biotic classes will get a more utilized form of the biotic charge, because i've thought since Vanguards have it there would be a more simplified/weaker version used to get from point A to point B faster instead of slamming into an enemy at "mach you're fucked" speeds

    >note what i just said in this post may be completely stupid
    >> Braith117 !!p+mQRoefJzS 05/05/12(Sat)02:13 No.18983403
While this might look like a good idea, I'm assuming there is a bit more to the techie stuff than just pushing a button on the omni-tool.

We probably don't have the aptitude to do much besides maybe incinerate. I'm assuming that it takes a bit of managing to control drones or overloading/sabotaging weapons, for example.
    >> The Illusive Man !!YhRfZU/QcTP 05/05/12(Sat)08:06 No.18985695

Possibly, I forget her name but the Spectre from the Shadowbroker DLC had that. In universs justification exists.

Mostly its in the interest of balance.
But if you devote enough time and effort I suppose anything is possible.
