We should ask Naru/Raymond-san if they can get us some faction neutral clothing/costumes so we don't have to worry about sparking conflict wherever we go.

With your hand hovering over your gun, you walk in.
You find yourselves in a nice clean cafe decorated with all sorts of sentai memorabilia and toys
In one corner near the bar, a complete life-sized robo costume looms.

You settle back into the small room you first came into earlier that day.
Naru stands guard outside the door like she said she would.
Your room is the same converted shipping cvontainer as you left it.
The ramen still stacked in the cupboards, the mattresses still thin and ratty.
    There's something new though.
Something that wasnt there when you left earlier.
    Its a large cardboard box.

There were no addresses nor messages on it.
It's just a large cardboard box sitting in the middle of the room.

"They blend in with the locals to the point that they become one themselves. They are also adept at swaying people and using thier leadership skills on the natives."

"Do we have any information on whether or not they're cooperating, or if they split up?"
"We don't know that. But ever since basic training, these three have stuck to each other like glue. We would assume that theyre cooperating if they are still all functional."

"No. They were assigned one closer to the city's center. This location was randomly picked from several possible safe houses available." He answers you calmly.

"I don't know man. Someone just came up to me and gave me 2 blue eyes white dragons and a pack of goblin mines to check you out. All I know is that he's from the Takoyaki-group since he smelled like takoyaki sauce."
He's shaking in fear now, trying to get the ducttape off his hands.
    "I swear man. that's all I know."
"What did he look like?" You ask as you lean in closer, eyes still locked onto his.
"He had a mask on. It was a weird mask made of burlap with an eye and a hand drawn onto it. H-he was also wearing a nice suit."
"Where did you meet him?" Everyword you say oozing with intimidation.

You slip your hand into his pockets and fish out a stack of cards.
"My cards!" He says as he struggles with his bindings.
You slowly look through the deck.
Theyre a mix of MtG, Pokemon and Yugioh cards.
There are even some Mushiking cards thrown in.
Most of them have been defaced using a permanent marker with little notes like "COOL!" "AWESOME!!!" and "HAXXX!!"
    You turn back to him.
"We will let you go. But I will keep your cards. I want you to find out more about this masked man. I also want you to find anything about any black and red robed figures."
You pick out the blue eyed white dragon cards and examine them.
    They're knock-offs.
"You will report back to us at noon tomorrow with any information you have. If you fail to come back, then I have no idea just what will happen to these."
YOu wave the card in front of him for emphasis.
"Okay! Okay! I'll come back with info I swear! Just don't harm my babies!" He pleads.

I think part of us being burnt out a little has to do with getting used to the ridiculousness. We've sort of gotten used to the swing of things at the bureau and maybe a little bit of the wonder has worn off. Stuff like the snowberry incident and Illya that comes totally out of left field is part of what I love most about this quest. I'm always looking forward the whatever crazy shit happens next.
I miss the side stories. those were lots of fun to read.
the week off probably has had a culling effect on the number of players.
the limited reloads might also have a bit to do with it. We seem to be a bit more timid about choosing the outlandish/dangerous options believing that eventually our reloads will run out and then we will have started a chain of evens that will bring about the next apocalypse or some such business. example: we haven't had an encounter with Tsukino since before our hell-training with Sagara, no delicious bun buttering or afro-murdering.

I'm not trying to tell you how to run the quest LG, just offering my thoughts on the situation.
I'll spend the next couple days going through the archive and update the to-do list. I like the ideas of opening up a potion business (it'll help pay for the house) and for basically becoming a pokemon trainer in terms of familiars, although i think we'll have problems managing that properly until our business with A-tan is sorted out and we no longer have that majaik drain problem.
Has anyone got a list of the CAPITALIZED words to remember?

I personally like the limited reloads.
It's a hard and highly visible reminder that actions and choices have consequences, sometimes permanent ones. It's a little memento mori, and we have to balance our desire to see awesome with preserving Hayate's life.
    >> Lookout 04/19/12(Thu)11:39 No.18779848

    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)11:44 No.18779880
Oh, you mean like how some people can't handle consequences for their choices?
If they wanted a consequence-free game, they should play a PC game that they can save-scum with.
We're playing Steel Battalion here, a real man's game, where if you fuck up and can't hit the eject button in time, the game erases your savegame file.
    >> !UdzMmUq0Oc 04/19/12(Thu)11:45 No.18779887
I don't think we'll actually run out of reloads before LG wants us to, because of drama, and so we shouldn't worry about it too much.

    >> !UdzMmUq0Oc 04/19/12(Thu)12:23 No.18780114
That's the one I was forgetting. I knew there was one. Still, when we've died via path choice, aside from all but the latest Tsukino-related death, we've known damn well it would go badly for us when it was chosen. Going in the back way with her ? Obviously a bad idea. Tongue in loli butt? Oy, what bait.

This is what I should have said if I'd remembered all of it at the time. Our deaths have been at the whim of the dice not choosing the wrong thing, with knowing exceptions.

Okay, since there are some people here, let's discuss what our plan for tonight should be.

As the Dude pointed out, we have 3 targets and only 2 days with which to track them down.
R's trail in the Red Light District is going to be cold.
We have Naru as a guide, but it's still unknown if she can be trusted.
Should we split up, Hayate and Gai going to the Red Light District after R, and Hina and Erica going to Joe's Bar after Agent M?
    Or stay together?

We're already down a third of our allotted time and we haven't caught any of our 3 targets yet.
    >> !UdzMmUq0Oc 04/19/12(Thu)12:46 No.18780281
I'm always here. Unless I'm asleep, pretty much.

If we split up, I'm inclined to say that it should be us and Erica to the red light district, with Hina and Gai going to the bar. Though, on the other hand, Erica may be better at the bar than Gai would be.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)12:53 No.18780334
Maybe Erica and Gai to the bar?
Erica won't be immediately pounced upon, if she says that she's cosplaying as a minion of Red Skull, and Gai has his ICE badge, so I doubt anyone would be willing to mess with him.

Bringing either of the girls into the Red Light District strikes me as dangerous, though.

    So, here are our choices:
    A. Hina (with a wig) and Gai go to Western Media District and track down M. Erica and Hayate take Naru and go to the Red Light District to track down R.

    B. Hina and Erica go to the Western District for M, Gai and Hayate go to the Red Light District for R.

Then again, she DID buy those grip-strengthening workout things.

It's a small price to pay, I think, for the successful completion of the mission and not getting Hina groped by a mob of simulated furries and guys in tentacle monster outfits.
    >> !UdzMmUq0Oc 04/19/12(Thu)15:40 No.18781891
Oh, I agree entirely. We should also keep in mind that it's a sim, and we can't really take things back with us.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)15:48 No.18781998
    Unless we hat someone.

Although I don't think there's many people at a 'con who'd be worth taking back. Unless there's that one girl... I don't have the picture.

Red dyed hair, bent over, smiling at the camera, instant heart attack material.
    >> !UdzMmUq0Oc 04/19/12(Thu)16:10 No.18782254
First, we don't have any actual hats to use.
Second, doing it to a person, simulated or not, isn't cool. Ted and Lo started out as basic combat constructs, and we created personalities for them in the "taming" process. Doing something like that to an existing intelligence is NOT okay.

And what do you think our new family would think if we "hatted" a cute girl?
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)16:14 No.18782300
I doubt these simulated people are any more complex than chatbot. And even if they are, it just proves that the Bureau has no problem with creating and destroying simulated life.

    Girls would be "Another one!?"
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)16:19 No.18782357
With our interactions with them, they appear to pass the Turing test.
That gets into murky moral territory when we suborn their primary function and their limited free will.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)16:23 No.18782399
The Turing Test is bullshit. All it accounts for are clever illusions, which is exactly what these simulations are.

If they are not minor simulations, but actual intelligent constructs, then the Bureau murders them all each time they end the program.

Also, they'd be deliberately creating furries, and exposing people to them. That's even worse than the murder.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)16:27 No.18782428
How do you know that they end the program? Maybe this simulation is persistent, and constantly maintained and trainees are simply dropped in to undergo missions.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)16:30 No.18782477
We'll have to ask LG that, I guess.

    >That gets into murky moral territory when we suborn their primary function and their limited free will.
Exactly what I was trying to get at. Even if it's just a perception of free will, who are we to fuck with that?

    We can try.

In my opinion I choose C. Because the current target Agent-Rs always win in Waifu Wars so that he could be pretty tough opponent to deal with when we can't use our majik.

But if we REAL need to split up then I pick B. But I like point out importing fact that men are no exception to be rape targets. Because we could face creepy homosexual men...

    >Because we could face creepy homosexual men...
Not that we haven't had to deal with that before.
    >> Maidlover !KiXFR7D/7. 04/19/12(Thu)18:07 No.18783510

True, but I'm actually worry more about Gai who lack our experienced when dealing with them.
    >> !UdzMmUq0Oc 04/19/12(Thu)18:08 No.18783524
Our "experience" is running like fuck. I don't think that would be Gai's reaction, as a Rider.
    >> Maidlover !KiXFR7D/7. 04/19/12(Thu)18:37 No.18783813

That is something I'm worry about. Because Gai is more of cool and serious type, he will not run away at first sight.

But anyway, do anyone remember our current gears for this mission? I remember something about that we have pistols, disguised iron bars, toy swords and some other stuff. If we don't have any pepper spray and/or marble balls, we should get them too because we never know when we need to make tactical retreat.
