The adventures of the young summoner and the Eldritch Abomination continues...

It was only an hour after you stripped Jorham of his abilities. Eluvi may or may not have found him. Well, one thing is for certain, you didn't kill him. If she was angry with you, so be it. You didn't kill him, right?

"Uh..." Felice stands up from the throne, stretching her arms into the air.

"What are you doing?" you feel the passing need to ask.

"I'm stretching... how long have you been asleep?"

"You're the one who's supposed to know that." Felice walks forward as you talk.

"I ... don't know, why not asking Enki? He's probably bound to show up.. in... a bit."

"Wait, what? What makes you say that?"

"Any loving parent would get revenge if someone did that to their kid! Oh, wait..." Felice grins slightly. Yeah, it was a joke, what kind of humor was that?

"Hm..." you don't say anything. You just think about what to do with the rest of the day...

What other local gods and spirits are there?
We just interacted with goddess of the river and a god of the forest.
Any other likely targets that are nearby and hopefully not too powerful yet?

Where there any other Gods to consider around here? The forest, the river and then the mountains. The mountains, that's it. The God of the Mountains, Haran. Was he the eldest sibling? Eluvi was the youngest, while Jorham was the middle child. "We're leaving, Felice." you walk forward and make your way out the door.

"Where are we going now?" she asks, her legs moving with no will of her own. Not that she minds, anyway.

"We're going after Haran, the last God in the area, hopefully." there were other nature spirits, animals and the like hanging around but they were small compared to a God. All of them.. they would pay for your imprisonment and for what they've done to the people of the world.

You and Felice make good progress, walking through the open paths of the forest. Very little got in your way. Up the mountain path, and after a few moments you could see the forest laid out before you. The forest was... different. A strange, gray hue took over the normally lush forest.

The forest lost it's life due to Jorham getting his powers stripped? Well, what do you know, the guy actually did his job. At least, the one where he cares for his grounds. You raise a hand, keeping an eye on the forest below. Before long, the color returns as does a few new additions. Flowers spring to life, vines shoot into the air, and even Strawberry bushes pop up here and there. With that job easily done, you turn away and look up back to the mountain. Haran was there, or at least you'd have to make him show up.

"Are we going now?" Felice asks, glancing back down to the newly restored forest.

"Yes." you answer with a simple word before making your way up the face of the mountain. A clear pathway on the face of a mountain? There was bound to be something up there. A clear cut passage. Perhaps a shrine? If so, better for you. You didn't feel like wasting time walking about looking for that God.

A few moments pass and you were right. An abandoned shrine in an opening overlooking the other side of the mountain.

"Ah shrine? Well people do care, I guess." Felice says, her eyes going from the old shrine to the ground. Judging from the tone of voice, she really didn't want to be here.

"Is there a problem Felice?" the girl was reluctant to step forward, form what you could tell. Her eyes, the way she moved her fingers, all obvious signs of hesitation.

"I hate the Gods... that's all." she's obviously lying because you already knew she hated the Gods. What made this shrine so special?

"Why is it this shrine, specifically?"

"It's not the shrine, it's the God. Haran... I hate him." she looks away, her eyes closing half-way. Was she going to cry?

    "Are you alright?"

"No, not really... you can't see that?"

    "I can, but..."

"Hello?" a voice from the distance. Foot steps echo on the wooden porch of the shrine ahead.

Felice steps back, her head jolting from the ground up to the shrine.

"Hello," you figure to speak before Felice has a chance,"Who are you?" you step forward, but strangely Felice provides no resistance.

"I should be asking you that question, Ms." the old man smiles. He was bald with his hair hanging onto his scalp by a tinge. It loops around his shoulders, stopping just on top of his pecks. His eyes show age, as does his face. He looked like a priest. A priest at a shrine, how strange...

"My name is Felice Ayers." you answer with a smile, using Felice's voice to your advantage.

"Ayers... Aha, that clan! I know who you're talking about! Hello Ms.Felice!" he says with a smile. Wait, that smile. You knew it, but you couldn't place it. Memories under a veil of fog. You saw that smile before...

"Chaos, we should leave, please." Felice communicates using telepathy. "Now, while we can, please."

You look at the old man, squinting your eyes.

The fog is still there. Why do you feel scared? Something isn't right. Something definetly isn't right here. Felice feels the same thing as she steps back. Despite the fear, you smile. You were Chaos, a shadow of millions. This mortal was nothing.

"What's wrong Ms.Felice?" the old man's smile was still there. His name, it was in the back of your mind. His name was there, lingering. You knew this man from the war so many years ago. His name.. his name...

"N-nothing." she answers, taking a step back.

"You're shakin' in yer boots, ya know?" the old man's grin remains. He was enjoying every bit of it. Felice's fear. He smelled it from where he stood. "Hey, I'll comfort ya Ms."

"Tell me," you take over for a moment, "What's... your name?"

"Ah hot shit 'My Lord', you forgot about me? Tsk tsk tsk." the man walks down the steps, opening his arms up for a hug. "It's your old pal Xerxes!"

"Xerxes..." the name clicks. The man who betrayed you. The man who caused you to be sealed. It was all coming back. This man betrayed you for the Gods. He was the downfall of your entire campaign. Your most trusted servant... Xerxes Algar.

The bastard. If it wasn't for him, if it wasn't for this bastard... Anger wells up from the deepest reaches of your so called 'heart'. It pours out from your body, becoming a physical manifestation of dark energy.

"OH MY LORD, yer going to fight me?" Xerxes smile was still there. Did he know who you were just by looking at you? What put him off?

"You traitor!" you raise a hand. The shadows heed your call, flying forward in the form of tendrils to pierce the target before you.

"I did what I had to." Xerxes raises his hand. The shadows below his feet mimic your own, blasting forward to intercept your own tendrils. Wait, how did he do that?

"That..." you realize it. The power you gave to your soldiers. It was like a sword you forged and cast down to your own men. Once it was in their hands, it was no longer yours. Or at least, that's what it is now.

"If that won't work..." Felice realizes you weren't going to take her warning. She raises her hand as a white magical circle appears before you. Small white orbs shoot out like rapid fire, closing in on Xerxes.

"HA!" a white flash. A line rips through the air, causing all of the projectiles to explode prematurely. A glowing white sword in hand, no, five glowing white swords circle his own body. "Yer boring." he says, frowning as he takes a step forward.

The white blades whirling around him, the void at his command, Xerxes continues his walk forward. You take a step back, surveying the ground nearby. Plants. Your ability over the forest. "I'm curious as to how ye got out-" he stops himself. "Oh right, that girl." he sighs, "Can't ye just leave the world alone?" he laughs at his own statement.

The traitor. The bastard. That smile, his laugh, it pisses you off. You smile, raising your hand into the air. The plants nearby rip into the air, swirling around in an attempt to ensnare your foe. They succeed. Around his legs and his arms, he's subdued. "Ahaha, is that all?" Xerxes laughs as dark tendrils rip into the air from his own shadow, cutting off the plants.

"No." you smile, fangs showing from Felice's mouth. The ground breaks. Large, towering snakes rip into the air and soar into the heavens. They open their maws, all falling down from the sky to rip into Xerxes' own flesh. The snakes multiply, over and over until their are about two dozen. They bite, they devour, they continue their attack even if they don't hit anything. Mercy wasn't an option here.

The sound of a buzzaw. Swords spin around and about, accompanied by dark tendrils that constantly whip at the air. The vines rip to pieces and eventually the grass serpents follow. "Disappointing." Xerxes frowns, stepping forward.

You take a step back, steeling yourself for what may come.

I don't like it but I suppose it's time to fall back.
Get Felice to throw up something flashy and get out of there.

Pointless property damage because we're too weak to win? Since when did chaos act like a 12 year old?

He countered every attack you threw at him. If you tried piercing him, he'd probably block it with tendrils or those swords. What happened to this guy to make him so strong? He sold you out, so he was probably rewarded handsomely with power, true immortality and the like. "Felice, we're going." you reply to the girl telepathically, taking a step back. "Can you-"

"I'm on it." she raises her hand into the air, forming a ball of pure, white magical energy. Down it went, crashing into the ground. A loud pop breaks through the air. It was a make shift 'flash bang'.

"Ghh.." Xerxes holds his ears with both hands, but quickly pulls his hands away after the light wears down.

You were gone. You disappear, but not before doing some collateral damage. As the flash went off, tendrils burst up from the ground and tore into the shrine, ripping it to pieces. Support beams, the walls, everything was destroyed in a single attack. Xerxes looks back over his shoulder, frowning slightly. "Well shit." there goes his house.

Back home, a dark void opens up, dropping you down onto the throne. You place a hand on your forehead, trying to think of a way to dispose of him.

"I told you, Chaos." Felice says, tapping her foot on the ground. She was anxious, and, well, right...

Punish her for trying to warn us? That is silly.

We should be asking her how she knew to warn us.

saying she doesnt want to go there, and then telling us to turn around and leave, is not a proper warning.

She will learn to be clear and concise when warning someone.

Instead of trying to punish her for some reason, we'd be better off figuring out why she wouldn't be more clear and informing her that we wouldn't have gotten into that situation if she was more clear. Let her punish herself if necessary.

"How do you know him? Why weren't you more clear when telling me? I'm not omnipotent, you know." you feel to ask the question. He was your most trusted soldier, and from so many years ago.

"He was the one that did it. Remember when he said he knew of my clan? Well, there you have it. He was the one who attacked... and..." she says, biting her lips. She was hiding tears. "And..," she quickly changes the subject, "..weren't you the one that attacked first?" she says, which.. she has a point. You were the one to attack first. "I did warn you, but you didn't listen..."

You think. She did warn you, and you were the one to attack first.

I'm pretty sure the atrocities that motivated her to summon us happened way after the war.

I mean, we were sealed for thousands of years and she's a young girl. Unless there's some sort of time-travel dickery going on, she wouldn't have been alive back then.

"Hmm.." you don't speak any further on the matter. You weren't going to get anywhere if you kept asking questions. Xerxes was nearby, and now that he knew you were around, you didn't think he was going to be leaving anytime soon. You also had the Moon Goddess to deal with. This was getting difficult.

"Hey, Chaos." she continues, "What are we going to do now?"

You think for a moment. Library to gather knowledge? You already 'knew' everything, so it was a matter of looking for the knowledge in the vast darkness that was your own body. You sit there on the throne, thinking of your next move.

    =End=-

Sorry for the abrupt ending, but bed calls folks!
