    Few more days...
It is cool to be flying, but it old after few days. We have stopped few times, dropping cargo and passengers, taking cargo and passengers. This is mainly a cargo-ship, so there are not many passengers. The crew is not too friendly either.
However, Nenonen came along few stops ago. While visiting library of mage guild, he heard that Xjaal had been located in Jilka. It's near Daciht. How convenient. Man, everyone is searching for Xjaal for some reason.
But anyway, he has been teaching me bit of elemental magic. Nothing much, basics, like elemental bolt. Ice, lightning and so forth. Which makes my current spell-repertoire:

    >Disrupt
    >Break Barrier
    >Destroy Mana
    >Heal
    >Orb of Light
    >Elemental Bolt

    Neat.
I haven't been able to train with Nxisa. She seems worried and anxious for some reason. Rests most of her time here.
Now I am playing card with Nenonen, Qu ( the bird ) and Jake. Everyone seems pretty well armed here.
This is weirding me out. Something is going on.

    "It's weird."
    >Nenonen: "What is weird? That you are losing?"
"No no. It's just that my master seems anxious about something. It's not about flying, because she was fine until yesterday."
    >Nenonen: "Beats me. Maybe she is keeping you a secret birthday party. Or she is just worried about her home."
"She has been bit secretive, yeah."
    >Nenonen: "Birthday party then?"
    >Jake: "I think she is worrying about D-Archmage."
"That's silly. Why would she do that? I am not even sure if he is alive anymore."
    >Jake: "... Yes."
    >Nenonen: "Ha! He's alive and well I guess. In guild I heard that someone had received a large sum from him. 4000 pien. It's like 2% of his bounty."
"It got upped again? I heard it was 120 000 pien."
    >Qu: "Ye, I heard them telling that it is 200 000 pien now."
    >Nenonen: "The guild is trying to chase him down tho. I think they should just rid of the whole bounty-thing. It's ridiculous. It just encourages low-level bounty-hunters to chase him. He is someone not to be trifled with."
    >Jake: "He destroyed fortress of Jaabal, yes?"
    >Qu; "Ye. I was next town over. I could hear the explosions over there."
"He should be taken down tho. Job for counter-mages I suppose!"
    >Nenonen: "Anyway, I think you should go ask her what's wrong."

    "In what?"
    >Nxisa: "We have laid a trap for Dark Archmage Ingram. Remember that necromancer, the one you defeated? He mentioned the reward Dark Archmage was offering for information regarding Xjaal. The guild altered and passed necromancer's memos to the Dark Archmage. The memos basically say that the Xjaal should be over the flatlands near Daciht. It's perfect place to strike and eliminate the Dark Archmage."
"So, all these people- were called to the ambush?"
    >Nxisa: "Not all. Qu and Nenonen are here for Xjaal as well. You are obedient enough, but you are sometimes way too concerned about me. I mean, you brought me tea and wanted to hear my worries! I wanted to eliminate all chances of you following me there."
    "..."

    Okay okay, here I go.
We managed to survive the explosion and crash. Most of us got hit by the shrapnel, but we are doing pretty fine.
I tried to disrupt the spell, but it did not work. Way too powerful.

Most of the crew and passengers are dead. Some got hit by the explosions. Dead.
Some got thrown off the ship. Dead.
Some sank with the ship. Dead.

Now there is only I, Nxisa, Jake, Nenonen, Qu, Captain and two passengers.

I have no idea what to do. Good thing I had my gear on. I got my sword and armor with me, as well as the letter.
Nenonen got a full bag of all kinds of goods. I am not sure whatever we should go for the mountains. Jake mentioned that there might be dwarves. Dwarves might not be too happy, but we'll survive for sure.
We could try to get through nearby mushroom-forest. Dangerous, but there are probably villages on the other side. We could try to go around, but that would take pretty damn long.
    Everyone's pretty crushed right now.

How are we on funds? Dwarves may not like us but coin will help things go over better. If they and the forest aren't in different directions maybe we could hire one to help us get through that damn forest, or at least get some gear to help us get through ourselves. What specifically are the dangers there? Monsters, plantlife, crazy locals?

Pumping own mana should do. It will take for a while and requires a circle, but nothing too difficult.

Well, as for funds, I still have 116 pien. Nxisa has 1100, Captain lost his money in the ship, Jake has 700, Nenonen has about 500 and Qu has 1900. Which... is quite a bit. She said me that she is a performer.
    I guess it makes sense.

I asked Nxisa about the paths.

The biggest problem with the forest is the wildlife. Most of them are poisonous. Jake knows healing spells which can be used to neutralize poisons, but it is still very dangerous place. Nxisa says that some mushrooms tend to spread on people as well. Luckily, there are no many mushroom-forests around, this one being one of the few.

Mountains might be treacherous as well. There is no guarantee that we find dwarves, and instead will find other kinds of folk. There might be even more dragons ( however, Nxisa that we must be extremely unlucky to run to something as powerful as Gaia again. And Gaia was less dangerous than the mage riding anyway. )

Both sound equally dangerous, with the mountains being potentially better or worse depending on what actually lives there. How about if we split the difference? Follow along between them, cutting through a straight a line as possible while avoiding the thickest of the forest and the harsher heights of the mountains. Eventually we should get clear from them both.

Since we're there's only two left, let's get acquainted with our remaining crew better and get a measure of their ability.

Going between mountain and forest was pretty damn good idea. We can avoid the monsters of the forest while not going too high on the mountains. Food probably won't be a problem ( considering we can go kill something in the forest ). Nenonen can conjure up some water, but it taxes him a lot. The road is rocky and we have bit hard time traversing ( with exception of Nxisa ). The night is coming. We have to camp at some point.

We decide against trying to pursue them. In the morning, we continue our journey. We are pretty depressed already. To kill some time, Nenonen taught me some more tricks. Conjuring water from air and slow fall ( although I cannot pull it off properly. Nenonen says it's pretty advanced and I probably won't get it right for a while ).

But after two days of scaling around, we finally arrive at the edge of the forest. Captain knows the town, and says we can get to Daciht from there in horse-carriage ( I began to hate walking already ).

Okay, we are here. We are doing fine.
Currently Nxisa is trying to get some info about how the ambush went. News haven't arrived here yet. The ambush was yesterday after all.
Nxisa is very worried about whole deal. Nenonen and Qu are bit angry at Jake and Nxisa. Mainly because they got tricked into this whole thing. They are not demanding anything tho. Captain is spending his time in local tavern ( with the other two passengers ). The carriage should leave in few hours. It will take us straight to Daciht, capital of Daciht ( it is weird how they named the capital after their land. Or is it other way around? ) The other two passengers decided to stay here for a while, so we'll be leaving with Qu, Jake and Nenonen.
Anyway. No one died during the travel, so I think we are doing great. I did lose my cloak, hat and goggles in the crash.
I also heard there are draconian fortresses in the mountains. They are causing quite bit of trouble around.

But yeah, I smell like shit right now. I also gotta resupply.

We finally arrived in Daciht. It's a quite big city. Kinda like a spiral.

    This sucks.
We went to find out how ambush went.
    Total failure.
They hadn't expected a fucking dragon. And it seems that the Dark Archmage noticed the trap way too soon. Almost everyone ended up dead. We met four survivors from force of 81.
Nxisa did not take this well. She left me here, saying 'I'll be back in some time. I gotta digest this'.
Nenonen and Qu are waiting for ship, Jake went to find some work.
And here I am, doing nothing, learning nothing, only with 100 pien.

    I bought cloak and goggles!
75 pien. Quite cheap I guess.

This place is filled to brim with satyr. I actually wasn't allowed in some taverns because I am human. I found one tavern which allowed me in. Got some rumors ( well, maybe not rumors eh? )
The Daciht is doing pretty well overall. Only considerable problem is the expanding draconian territory. They are enslaving people they can find, which makes me kinda happy we did not follow the patrol. Remains of some dragon's army I guess.
And talking about dragons: there was quite bit of talk about how people had seen Gaia flying around. Not terribly interesting considering what happened. There's also another dragon nearby, Kalim. A red dragon, not terribly big. I heard some talk that he is cowardly and meek. Quite unfitting for a dragon I guess.

Anyway, I also found a billboard with some announcements.

    >"I am being hunted. Looking for someone to shake them off my tail."
    >"Kobolds have taken home near my farm. Could someone please remove them? Will pay in money."
    >"Looking for adventures to check out a cavern in the mountains."
    >"Slay Kalim. Will pay 750 pien." ( the bottom part has been ripped off, so I guess this one is taken )
    >"Going to look for my lost brother in the mountains, need someone to watch my back."

Hm, should I? I have no idea when Nxisa will get back.

The second job and the last one sound interesting but we should probably wait until Nxisa is back before we do anything.

By the way, didn't she say her family is from this city? Maybe we could find somebody who knows her and use our last 25 pien to buy her favourite food, or something along that line. She probably needs to be cheered up. Nxisa might have lost a friend in that failed ambush.

    But yeah, the letter!
Finding Herman wasn't hard. There are very few humans here, and only one named Herman. He keeps a shop of magical scrolls and spells. He is... quite old.
I gave him the letter. He thanks me and tells me to get out of his shop unless I am buying anything.

I'm going to with this brother-case. We meet up and head for the mountains. Just two hours of walk. There should not be major danger ( outside of stray draconians, but they are not the brightest or fastest folk ). Jign ( the not-lost brother ) tells me that his brother ( Majx ) is studying to be an alchemist and went to look for some plant that tends to grow up in the mountains.

That's... Not the way water and electricity work. Water doesn't amplify electricity. The reason why you don't want to get electrocuted in the water is because it travels all the way through the water to you, not because it makes it stronger. Unless he's being submerged, making him wet will do literally nothing in terms of electrocuting him. Also, we can't conjure. We can throw offensive bolts made of elements.
