    29 KB TESTING Omega !Q7t.srvWZ6 02/28/12(Tue)16:18 No.18137641
Testing to see if I still autosage when I post a thread.

If I don't, I'll start going ahead in this thread. If I am, well, time to send some email and find a new solution.

In the meantime, here are my schedule plans. Since I'm going to be joining my college's traditional games club's DnD game on thursdays, I wont be questan' on that day, so I'll probably run main MHRQuest Fri-Sat-Sun, and the Interlude on Tue, unless you guys really don't like that plan.

This is an awesome quest, Omega and you're awesome for running it. Wish I started reading as soon as I saw it on /tg/ around thread 2-4 and participated.
Saying that, I'm not that really that hot on Interlude. Dan's story is much more interesting. I wish you run normal quest all the time instead of sub-quest.

Also, shame on the players for having such a long debate on taking the Alien guns in the Museum. Not so much because extra fire-power but for not-so-subtle hint that OP dropped which seemed to be missed by everyone (I think). The hint was something like "the guns are powered by nuclear batteries but who needs those things anyway?". We need them, for the Power-armor which we have in our friend's backyard (why did you guys put it there anyway instead of bringing it to college where Roxxy would have equipment and tools available at hand, not to mention some favors she could call).
Sure, it's moot point now since Police confiscated it all but I'm still kinda disappointed no one saw the merit in taking the batteries (at least not the majority)

The interlude was an experiment that didn't get a chance to go anywhere due to aforementioned technical difficulties. It seems like a popular idea, though.

As for the batteries, that wasn't a direct hint, so much as me doing my best to provide you guys with all the same information Dan would have, and make the best suggestions with what you've got. Which could very well have been "lets steal the nuclear batteries for our power armor"

    > It seems like a popular idea, though.
Well, it's just my opinion, maybe others feel different.
It's not that it's a bad or anything but when you run it, it means that we could have had normal-quest instead of it. It feels like a loss to me (again, personal opinion. Don't really take this into consideration, I can hardly participate due to time-zones anyway.... wish I could)

PREVIOUSLY, ON METAHUMAN RENAISSANCE QUEST: After Syred/Repent summoned some SPACE WASPS, Javelin defeated them in good order, giving chase to her through the museum and onto the roof. From there, she jumped off the roof, said a very naughty word, and bent time and space to somewhere else. After that, Ashwood and Dan encountered Captain Skinner, who proceeded to arrest the bad guys and ship them to their appropriate places, before taking the two young men back to the station for questioning.

You are riding in the back of a LCPD APC, rolling through the late-night streets of the City, on your way back to Police HQ, so they can get your statement in writing. It is you, Ashwood, Captain Skinner, and half-a-dozen of Metacrime's Rapid Response Unit, IE, the guys in Power Armor. It is very silent, and awkward.

For you two, its even more awkward when the captain starts to ditch her power armor, then unzips the body glove which goes on underneath it, leaving her standing there in a tank-top and small shorts. She quickly throws her badge around her neck, and dons some combat boots and cargo pants, along with a shoulder holster for her Desert Eagle. You notice she's covered in scars, and not just the plasma burns from when she lost her arm and eye in the war.

She then pulls out a cigarette, looks like Lucky Strikes, and a lighter. She stops and looks at you and Ashwood first. "Do you mind?"

"Nah, go ahead. I'll live." You say. She nods, and lights up. At first, the smell is kind of intense, you'd guess they're unfiltered or something. Or maybe you just smell things better now? Then the APC's air handlers start taking the smoke out of the air bit by bit, and it becomes more bearable.

Skinner smokes, you notice she switches to her left hand, probably not wanting to crush it in her prosthesis. When she notices you watching, she winks at you. "One of the many reasons I don't wear the helmet." She says. The other guys, who are all encased in steel alloys and ceramics just nod in silent agreement. They no better than to make smart-ass comments. After all, you saw the news footage of the captain punching through a wall with her robo-arm, and pull the perp on the other side back through the wall.

Even after reading all the threads at once, I still don't completely understand the whole game. So here are some questions:

How do we get new passions? How do we upgrade existing ones?
Could we get a passion for obtaining knowledge or doing courageous acts (killing 2 birds with one stone, etc etc)?

How does magic work again? Do we need to learn spells or can we just imagine any kind of spell we want and vast it?
What do letter A, D and U stand for?
And it seems we are only proficient with evocation magic, does that mean we can't, for example, do healing magic?
Can we have only one buff at the time?
Iirc, we have 7dies in evocation magic, but no where on the char-sheet is that obvious, why?
Previous fight, we would always need to split dies for multiple actions, right? But would casting a magic spell (by saying it) and shooting a psi-bolt (or a gun) at the same time divide the dies?

Still don't understand the difference between hard dies, regular dies and any others that there can be.

...I'm sure I'll have more questions later.

I wanted to ask, Omega. You've been saying this is just LCPD, so this shit is like everyday occurance or at least somewhat? I would think US Marshals would be thrown in also if such an important museum was being robbed, unless they have more important things to do, in which case holy fuckkkkkk.

    >How do we get new passions? How do we upgrade existing ones?

This is related to your Base Will. You divide your base will into loyalties and passions. Base Will is equal to Command+Charm, so every time you've added to one of those, I've added to Base Will and subsequently to Loyalties/Passions. There also may come a time when you guys take certain actions, where I just up Base Will directly.

    >Could we get a passion for obtaining knowledge or doing courageous acts (killing 2 birds with one stone, etc etc)?

If you guys pursue those things actively enough. Though you already have a couple like that.

    >How does magic work again? Do we need to learn spells or can we just imagine any kind of spell we want and vast it?

Currently, I'm running magic as a Variable Effect power, and basically, you can imagine any sort of spell of the schools you know how to use and cast it. We're going with DnD/Elder Scrolls type schools for now, since both I and Dan are basically using that as a crutch to divide magic arbitrarily.

    >What do letter A, D and U stand for?

A for Attacks, D for Defends and U for Useful.
    >> Omega !Q7t.srvWZ6 02/28/12(Tue)17:33 No.18138525

    >And it seems we are only proficient with evocation magic, does that mean we can't, for example, do healing magic?

Strictly speaking, yes. You don't have that Miracle (Power) so you can't do it.

    >Iirc, we have 7dies in evocation magic, but no where on the char-sheet is that obvious, why?

Operational Skill extra. You roll Evocation + Know (Occult) dice. This means that should to somehow be unable to use Know (Occult) or lose that skill, you won't be able to use Evocation at all.

    >Can we have only one buff at the time?

Yes. Have to draw the line somewhere. Not to mention, technically, Evocation doesn't have the Duration extra on it, so the bonuses are only to your next roll.

    >Previous fight, we would always need to split dies for multiple actions, right? But would casting a magic spell (by saying it) and shooting a psi-bolt (or a gun) at the same time divide the dies?

Short answer, yes. Long answer, yes, because both of those require concentration on Dan's part, one way or the other.

    >Still don't understand the difference between hard dies, regular dies and any others that there can be.

Regular dice (d) you just roll. Hard Dice (hd) you do not roll, and they always count for 10s. So get two, and you always have a 2x10 to use. Wiggle Dice (wd) you also do not roll, but may set them to any number you want after you roll.

    >splitting dice is for option only iirc

Opposite, actually. Option is a self-sustaining power, so you don't need to split dice for it to do something. Of course, it only does the one thing.
    >> Anonymous 02/28/12(Tue)17:36 No.18138554
I feel like I should probably mention that having 2HD isn't always a good thing. It means you can never turn the volume of that power down, it's always at its maximum setting.
If you have 2HD in a power, it's always going to be doing lethal damage.
    >> Anonymous 02/28/12(Tue)17:36 No.18138560
Ahhh, so that's why HD turn into WD, then?
    >> Anonymous 02/28/12(Tue)17:39 No.18138593
Yup. It's usually better to be able to have more control over what your power does.

Cyclops for example, would have HD in his power, because he can't ever turn down how lethal it is. Someone like Xavier however, probably has a bunch of WD, because he can either probe your mind OR make your head explode and everywhere in between.
    >> Omega !Q7t.srvWZ6 02/28/12(Tue)17:40 No.18138610

If I'm understanding my Jurisdictions and stuff right, the Museum is for the LCPD to handle. Nothing was stolen and transported over state lines, and the Museum isn't funded by the US Government. So, no Marshals or FBI. The ATF will probably be getting a slice of the pie, because of the illegal firearms used.
    >> Anonymous 02/28/12(Tue)17:41 No.18138620

Also, our base "super-power" was 'peak human performance' or something like that, right? But that doesn't just mean physical strength and endurance... right? Like, it gave us a massive potential to become paragon of humanity in mind, body and soul? (In game mechanics that would mean that base stats like Charm and body would be very easy to upgrade to normal human peak and maybe some more after that because of our superpower)
    >> Anonymous 02/28/12(Tue)17:41 No.18138622
So, using that example on Dan, if we had two WD in psibolt, we could either make it a long distance shoulder tap or cave in someone's skull.
    >> Anonymous 02/28/12(Tue)17:43 No.18138648
Yup. Whereas if he had 2HD, it would always be at the skull caving in level.

You turn to the captain. "Thanks for recommending me to that shop, BTW." You tap the Cyrean vest you're wearing. "Saved my life." She nods. "Told you I didn't want to scrape you off the street."

Awkward silence resumes. "So, anyone been do space?" You ask, trying to fill the silence. "Because I've been thinking of going and maybe talking to the GC and learning stuff about, y'know, stuff." Oh my god this is the most awkward APC ride you've ever had.

The captain's non-robot eye (The robot one still hidden behind an eyepatch) narrows. "Went to space once. Had unfinished business there." She pauses for a second. "And?" says Ashwood, clearly trying to draw some social aggro. "I finished it." She responds, tapping ash from her cigarette onto the floor.

One night our protagonist, Daniel Fortesque, was at a club hitting on this sexy french chick. He goes in to seal the deal, only to pass out and wake up several minutes later strapped to a table getting injected with all sorts of things. This gave him what are effectively superpowers.

The game from that point has been about Dan learning about the metahuman community at large, and dealing with it. Expanding his powers, fighting other metahumans, making new friends and alliances with other metahumans, and generally kicking ass all around.

Some highlights include getting a mad scientist girlfriend (not the french chick from the club), purchasing a giant robot, doing magic enhanced parkour, and shooting up a museum.

The captain looks at little surprised. Or faking it. "Oh, you can't do that? I thought everyone could do that." She looks over at one of the other officers, who has a lieutenant's markings on his armor. "Lieutenant, can you punch through a wall?" He responds, his voice filtered by speaking through the armor, and also having a bit of a southern drawl. "Why yes ma'am, I reckon I can. I run through walls all the time. Like a regular Kool-Aid man, I am." A couple of the other guys chuckle.

You make some jokes with the officers, lighten the mood some, then a voice from the front of the APC says "Captain, we're here." He puts out her cigarette, and stands. "Good." She looks at you and Ashwood. "You two, with me. I'll find someone to write down your statements and get you to sign 'em while I go find Howard and Philips, so they can ask you some more questions."

As you exit the vehicle into the garage level under police HQ, your stomach growls. "I don't suppose you have anything to eat around here, do you?" You ask. She shakes her head. "Nope, but if you have cash, you can use the vending machines." Well, better than nothing.

You're taken to an elevator, and escorted through HQ until they find a rank-and-file clerk, to take down your statements in writing. As she's about finishing typing yours up, you see the police bringing in the wolf-splice girl, and putting her in the holding cells. Oh, and a solicitor shows up for Ashwood.

You talk to the clerk while Ashwood has a quiet conversation with a family lawyer. He looks very much like a lawyer should; older, short hair, starting to go white, gaunt face, piercing eyes, talks like he's giving a lecture at Oxford.

"Hey, how do I update my metahuman registry information? I've upgraded a little since I first filed." The clerk sighs, clearly she wants to go home. Then she hands you a form. "Fill this out, hand it to the desk. They'll take it from there." You spend the next few minutes filling out the form, then sign that and your statement.

It is Ashwood's turn to give his statement. He starts, then the lawyer interrupts. "Mr. Ashwood, there is no need for you to give this here. We can have your account handled back at the penthouse, and then bring it in on the 'morrow." Ashwood shakes his head. "No need, Mr. Graves. I will do it here, and be done." You go off to hand in that registry paper, and find a vending machine.

You want to find someone to talk to about the situation, maybe track down captain Skinner, or see if you can find Detectives Howard or Philips. But first, something to eat. A priority which is quickly surpassed by the desire for coffee, when you see the machine. You snag a cup of terrible police coffee, and notice a box of donuts sitting next to the machine. You cautiously reach out to snag one.

"Those are for the detectives, y'know." Says a female voice. You wheel, and are confronted by a detective you don't know, with her hands on her hips. She's a couple inches shorter than you, looks late 20s, strawberry blond hair and hazel eyes. She's dressed much less noir than the other detectives you've spoken with, wearing a business acceptable shirt and pants, with sensible shoes. Her badge and her gun are on her belt. Her last name is "O'neal". You avoid the obvious joke. She looks like she'd drop you for it.

She gives you a half smile, like she's amused by your discomfort. "Uh-huh." She takes a donut anyway.

"Been meeting a lot of you, lately." "I bet you have, nightlight." You remember you ditched your shirt and jacket back at the museum, so you're walking around in nothing but the breastplate. You put the donuts aside, after snagging one for yourself, anyway. "So what do you do, detective? Apart from jump through windows, smoke and make really good sketches?" There's a flash of recognition on her face. She points at you with a donut. "Oh, hey, you're the guy from Howard and Philips' case. With the 'pew pew'." She accompanies this last bit with some descriptive hand motions. You have to try very hard to avoid laughing at her adorable rendition of laser noises. You decide to reply deadpan, going with "Yes. I am the guy with the pew pew."

She continues, "Well, I'm still kinda new, so mostly I work under the senior detectives, like Howard and Philips. Lately I've been working on cases, like the Sun/Moon club on friday. You might not know this, but metacrime covers any crime involving metahumans, even as the victims." You nod. Makes sense in a way. "If you don't mind my asking, are any of the metacops metahuman themselves?" You say, trying to remain respectful while being casual. "Not as many as you might think. Metahumans end up as lawyers and paralegals and judges more often if they want to be in Law. Or the federal agencies suck them up. My partner, Sharon, is a relatively weak Cryokinetic. Most dangerous thing she usually does is give the perps a little frostbite." You nod. O'neal turns serious for a second. "Everyone in metacrime his here for a reason, though. On my way back to the house me and my friends were all sharing, and I walked over a bridge, and a fucking troll tried to eat me." You are mildly surprised. "Troll, huh?" "No shit," she continues. "I used my purse revolver and put six in his eye, but all it did was make him leave me alone until I got to the home. Called my Da right away, asked him about it. Next morning, priority mail arrives, and I got two speed loaders of cold iron tipped bullets." She pauses to get herself a cup of terrible police coffee and drink some. Black. (3x9 on Know (Occult))

Using a combination of your own knowledge, and the Spirit World Wiki, you dig up some info in your brain. You can't recall anything about this specific conflict, but you do remember some basic facts, such as that the Fae love the British Isles, Ireland and Wales especially, and that since they are immortal, they hold grudges a long time. They are also obsessive about debts, and repaying them/being repaid. So, assuming that the Descendants of Niall (Literal meaning of O'neal) pissed off a fae or group of fae bad enough, they might hold them to their debt for a long ass time.

You suspect being able to overnight a dozen cold iron, the only 100% anathema substance to all Faeries, bullets in the caliber of Fiona's handgun may have something to do with it.
    >> Anonymous 02/28/12(Tue)20:33 No.18141235
I suspect that some distant ancestor took a debt from the fae but refused to pay it back, or tricked them or something else. So that's why they are going after his family even after such a long time.

Anyway, ask her why she became detective and joined the metacrime.

"So why did you join metacrime?" You ask, after remembering some facts. "As opposed to what, becoming a fairy hunter?" She snorts. "Not my job, my older brothers can do that." She pauses, and composes herself. "Anyway, I knew I wanted to be a cop already, like my father. I came to Liberty after school because they were offering better than NY." She sips coffee. "I kind of knew they'd put me in Metacrime anyway, so when they asked me in the interview about supernatural stuff, I answered honestly. Shuffled me into meta right away. Keep in mind, they also had me climb the ladder too. You need a lot of qualification to become a detective in this unit. Regular joes assigned here just get different armory privileges, and have to cordon off the weird shit. I spent two years as a normal cop running errands, half a year in SWAT to qualify me for three months in the Armor, then they gave me a shitload of training courses, and I've been doing this for about a year."

"So, wanna here my story?" You ask, a little conspirtorially. "Sure, hit me." You proceeded to tell her your origin story. "Huh." Is all she says. "Okay, you win. I think you have half the unit beat." She pauses to think. "Y'know, that sounds familiar. There's another kid I remember, having a similar story like that. Can't remember who though."

"Tell me the story, maybe you'll remember the name." She shakes her head. "Don't think so. It just flashed across my desk yesterday with some other shit, when they briefed us about Moreau being in town." This must have been shortly after your morning visit to HQ. "This was five or six years ago. She shanghaied a foster kid on his government mandated physical and crammed him with some Cyrean implants. Not the modules, either, their cybernetics. Like the wings or the psi blades." She thinks some more, trying to recall. "I think the feds had his name legally changed, or something, but I'm pretty sure he still lives in the city. Even though he has to be 18 or 19 by now." You nod the whole time. Interesting. Someone else the Dr. messed with. "Uplifted". Be okay to have a coffee with this kid sometime. You'd say a beer, if he weren't underage.

Suddenly, a woman in a light coat, with a hood walks up. Her eyes are icy blue, and her hair is a very pale blond color, almost white. Her skin has to be as pale as Jeanne's, and she was an albino. You don't think this newcomer is, though. She speaks in a low voice to O'neal, and you can see her breath when she talks. "The seniors are looking for your new friend, Fiona. Should we tell them where he is?" O'neal looks at you then back at her partner. "Yeah, Sharon. Howard and Philips need to talk to him, I'm sure. And their case is higher up than ours." She looks back at you. "Want me to help you find their desks, or are you good on your own?"

She's 28. Metacops tend to retire early, or die horribly, so anyone who has a hope of qualifying is usually fast-tracked. She did start young too, like you said. Right out of college.

"Um, can we walk and talk?" You ask. "I want to ask some questions about the guys at the Sun/Moon, if you don't mind." Fiona nods. "I'll trade questions for questions, if you're okay with that." You agree, and start walking. "So, any idea who those guys were?" You start. She shakes her head "Nope. This is the first time we've really gotten a chance to arrest any. They've been knocking over businesses owned or linked to metahumans for about a month, but they don't stay long enough for us to get a response out most of the time. The Sun/Moon was the biggest thing they've hit though." She pauses for air. "We've ruled out all the classics. Not the Sicilians, not the Irish mob, not the Russians, the Mexicans not the Triads or the Yakuza. And we have all of those in this goddamn city. Problem is, all of them? They believe in the balance of terror. They have their own metas, but they only use them if the other guys use metas. Or if they're going after metas. All the perps from the black van jobs are normal humans with guns. Also, the things they hit aren't really of value. One of the first places they hit was a laundromat in Little Asia. The owner is an old practitioner of Daoist Alchemy, and a couple of his granddaughters are Nitrokinetic." You raise an eyebrow. "They make explosions with their minds." O'neal explains.

"Okay, your turn, I guess." You say, as you climb some stairs. "Right, well," She begins. "Problem with these fuckers is they don't tend to hit places that have enough security to put up a fight. In fact, Sun/Moon was the first time they hit a place with much of any security at all. So, anyway, since most civilians run and hide when they come rolling up, I wanted to ask you about them. Y'know, how they acted, what their tactics were like."

You consider for a moment. They seemed pretty organized for dudes with automatic weapons and random face-wear. They also knew how to prioritize targets, and some things about close-quarters combat. "They were decently trained, not just street thugs. They knew what to do, even if they didn't do it very well. I mean, once they saw me, they started focusing on me right away, even if 'spray and pray' didn't work. Plus they had that thermite lance." She stops short, grabs you by the shoulders, and spins you to face her. "They had a what?" You look and feel confused. "You didn't know? I mean, I know it mostly blew up, but they fired it at least once, did some damage." "Did a lot of damage." She replies. "But nobody saw the lancer. We're still sifting through the security camera footage, and the secretary who was in that office with you, I guess, didn't actually see the weapon." Huh, who knew. She lets go of your shoulders and puts a hand to her chin, and thinks. "If they have that kind of war-time ordinance, they're a lot better funded than we though. Plus, Cyrean weapons are all genome locked. They must have gotten someone to launder it."

So it doesn't seem like all of them could be a revenge case." You open your mouth to ask, but she cuts you off. "And if its a hate crime, it is really well organized and weird for one. (2x5 and 2x8 on Know (Occult))

"The Root" could refer to a couple things. One is a literal or metaphorical root of the "World Tree" or the literal Axis Mundi, or World Axis. Of course, there are a shitload of those.

The Root is also an Esoteric term for the secret origin of Human, or at least Western civilization, the place where magic of the Western traditions originated, then was disseminated to early Egypt, Greece and Italy. It is the Atlantis, the Shambala, the Lemuria, the Mu. Destroyed by angry gods, or by the folly of the earliest Magisters. Gespenst could be a subscriber of that theory. Things like it were popular in his time.

Of course, you know its a bunch of bullshit. Makes zero sense from all known Archaeological standpoints, last you checked.

The dead zone in Vermont is mildly irradiated, at worst, so it helps to have protection either way. Besides, at this rate, we may call off the expedition all together if we're gonna go into SPAAAAAAAAACE soon.

"You're calling Hitler outdated, but you still believe in the Root theory?" You scoff. Oops, you meant to be a little more respectful than that. Long night. Still hungry, even after the donuts.

"Of course! I saw the proof myself. Of course, most of zat research was burned or buried by ze American Black Chamber. Messing around in their wheelhouse, I was. The Root was all destroyed, you and I know this. You are a student of History, even if you are not a much of one of the Occult. Yet. Almost zero hard evidence left." You nod in agreement."Even if we came from monkeys as the prevalent theory of today goes, civilization came from somewhere. The place where we first held that spark." The gleam in his eye-lights is somewhere between awestruck and terrifying. You decide to be a little both. "The place where all men had the power you and I have, but have since forgot." "Right. Sure." You say, agreeing with him for the sake of argument. "But who did we pick it up from, then?" "Serpentmen." Says Gespenst with a straight face. You're about to give him another shot with ole' skeptecism ray when Howard speaks up. "Oy, careful skull and crossbones. The kid ain't ready for Serpentmen yet." Well, fuck me then. Philips gets up to bring Ashwood back in, while Howard speaks to you. "Alright, we want to probe you two for a bit. See if there's anything interesting at the Museum 'Syrpent' would want to steal."

"Nothing I could think of, at least that wasn't accounted for. I pulled the most interesting items to study. It was there when I checked after she'd gone." Says Ashwood. You nod. Wait, that's not right, is it. Wasn't there something you couldn't find?

Yep. The black box or something.

Your brain snaps back into primary gear. "Wait." You say, sitting straight up in your chair. Everyone looks at you, and you look at Ashwood.

"Did we find the Black Rock Box on the list?" You see Howard and Philips sit straight up in their chairs now, paying intense attention. Ashwood stops to think. "No, now that you mention it. We were just about to go hunting for it when the lights went out." He looks at you. "But it weighs a number of kilograms. And its 10 feet tall. She could never have moved...it..." Ashwood's voice is getting much quieter as he starts catching on. "Unless...she could... portal it somewhere..." Howard and Philips shoot up, nearly jumping the table to get closer to you two. "She took the Black Rock Box!?" They shout simultaneously. They turn to each other. "Fuck!" they simultaneously shout, and go rushing out of the room.

Right, I've never given them a detail description, have I? Sorry, it helps that I know what they look like.

Okay, so their humanoid, with mostly humanoid bodies, similar preportions. Their noses are a bit flatter and broader, kind of like a cats. They have large irises like cats and dogs, too, but round pupils. They have two sets of canine teeth, and in general they seem shifted a little toward being predatory. They also have only four digits on their hands, no pinky. They don't have ears like we do, though, instead of a shape to kind of channel the sound in, their outer ears kind of don't separate from the head, if you can get what I mean. They aren't mammals, so they have 0 body hair. They have what looks like hair on their heads, but this material is closer to what the petals of flowers are made of, and doesn't grow in long, and in odd patterns that would require styling in humans. Also, their 'hair' doesn't keep growing, it only grows back if it gets torn or falls out from time. Their skin is a blue-indigo-violet spectrum. Their pale is a really pale blue, and their equivalent to being tanned is a nice deep indigo color. Their blood is glowing light blue.

Basically, they look close to human, but also different enough to be fucking creepy if you actually saw one.

Out of their modules, so far we've seen the HALO module and the SERAPH module. Technically the WISP module too, but IIRC that was human made.

Are there any other modules you'd be wiling to divulge?
    >> Anonymous 02/29/12(Wed)01:04 No.18145203
Meant to have a post in that, but I was gonna say that they're basically humanoids with draenei coloring schemes and tendencies, dumb as it sounds.
    >> Anonymous 02/29/12(Wed)01:06 No.18145236
Nah, if you really have to compare them to an existing thing, they'd be closest to the Na'vi.

Of course that's like saying that a carrot is close to a hotdog.
    >> Anonymous 02/29/12(Wed)01:09 No.18145281
So their crystals are close to their skin colour in the same way that, say, browns and tans are close to ours?

HALO, SERAPH and METATRON are broad classifiers for module levels. So far, everything Dan has picked up has been a HALO level, meaning they're mass production, rank-and-file level stuff. There's a post in an earlier thread (One of the first ones actually) about the modules, but I don't have time to run it down right now. If this thread is still here tonight, I can look for it.

The Na'vi are a little "cute n' cuddly" to match Cyreans, though now that you mention it, I can see where their design influenced me. The vibe I'm aiming for is that a human and a Cyrean can look at each other and go "Hey, you're kind of familiar", but at the same time they are alien enough that most of either side finds the other intensely creepy.

    >> Anonymous 02/29/12(Wed)12:17 No.18150288
So are SERAPH/METATRON level modules not mass-produced? Are they something made individual and custom by master artisans or something?

If the Cyreans aren't mammals, by what means do they birth their young? Live birth, eggs, a tadpole/caterpillar that metamorphosizes? Roxy mentioned ages ago that if Dan has a kid someday they may turn out funky. Have Cyrean power modules been linked to any specific birth defects or mutations, or is it more an issue of a kid being born with military genetic memory?
