The Gods, the spirits, all have forsaken a single tribe located to the far East. Their reasoning? To stay out of the conflict that the spirits of the world have forced upon them.

A single night passed as the young Felice sleeps in the newly crafted bed. She dreams of the hell fire devouring her village, of the deep darkness you experienced for so many years. She sweats and grasps at the air as if trying to find a hand. A single hand to yank her away from the dark reality she's forced to endure.

"Wake up." you say, jolting the girl up from the bed.

"Huh..?" she pulls up both hands, wiping her eyes free of wariness.

"It's morning." the girl stands up out of bed on your command. Both you and the girl move forward to open the door, exposing the inside of your dome to the sun.

Morning. Time for breakfast, or did the girl need to eat? She was no longer human since you now inhabit that young body of hers. There was a lot to do with... little time to spare.

    Not really.

Now, let's see if Felice feels any need to eat or not.
Then we need to figure out how we're going to go against the other gods.

An excellent goal! But how do we do it?

We can't operate openly in the day; we're a god of shadows, and there's that Goddess of the sun to consider as well.

About Chandra, she knows when we tamper with her believers with magic, but if we merely convince them to follow a different path with words, would she know?

Either way, we need to wait until the New Moon to strike at her.

Anyhow, let's figure out a way to get stronger at the moment.

I need to start putting that at the beginning of the threads.

-Form up shadows into anything.. Shield, tendrils, swords, anything. Able to restrict the movements of your foes, imagination is really the only limit.

-Manipulation of thoughts and emotions in your victims. Can read and absorb thoughts and information through touch. Ex.touch a text book and gain its knowledge. Used only once so far.

    >>18099640
Most of our powers seem to revolve around shadows. We're probably not a shadow god per se, but it's a start.

As for the Moon Goddess, yes, Chandra's someone we will likely have to fight. But it seems that you're forgetting Inanna and Enki, Sun and Earth respectively.

The dealings with the other gods, the wait on the New Moon, everything happening. You couldn't mess with the thoughts of her believers, but perhaps swaying them your way? What were the odds of that happening, anyway? "How about some strawberries?" you suggest as you continue to observe your surroundings.

"I said I wasn't hungry but... sure." she smiles, thinking of home. Just what you wanted. Dark tendrils rip into the ground, and within a second five, petite red fruits fall into the young summoners palm. "How did you..." she stops herself from questioning your ability. She eats happily, even though she said she wasn't hungry.

"Enjoy." you make the side comment, looking into the forest. You knew of the Trinity, Ianna, the Goddess of the Sun, Chandra, the Goddess of the Moon and finally Enki, the God of Earth. There are other Gods and Goddesses serving under those three, however. God of the Forest, Jeoram. Goddess of the River, Eluvi and some others revolving around the workings of the Earth.

Felice finishes eating her 'breakfast' and smiles. "That was great but now I'm thirsty." she frowns.

"Thirsty?" getting water means going to a river. The idea of running into some spirit or youkai is possible. But then again drawing attention to yourself is an issue. You look around, thinking through the possibilities.

Alright, let's test out some of the extents of our abilities.

Have Felice go out into the forest. Find a tree with some shadows. Stand under the tree, and extend our tendrils. See if the shadow tendrils can be hidden within other shadows.

That will help us in collecting information surreptitiously.

Chandra derives her power from the light of the Moon, right? So if were able to separate her from the Moon, she would be weakened, wouldn't she?

Perhaps if we were able to construct another little pocket dimension similar to the one we are living in, and disguise the portal to it in the door of an ordinary building, it might be possible to lure her into our domain, away from the source of her power.

At the very least, we can test ourselves in combat, we have no clue where we stand right now in strength compared to non-humans.

Also, cutting our way up the ranks might be a solid idea, we fight them when they lack support. The downside is the higher ups will know we're coming.

Guys, I think we're forgetting something important: our original followers.
They couldn't be killed, we pumped so much power into them.
The other gods couldn't kill them or destroy them, immortal soldiers that numbered in the millions, and so the only solution was to have them sealed. We need to find our old employees again. Break the seal. And get our army back.

Of course we need to consolidate our powers again, but don't forget the army the other gods so graciously put in a safety deposit box for us.

The girl was thirsty. You could probably tamper with the shadows and filter some water into her mouth. The down side to that is, however, the lack of exploration. You could run into a morsel more suited for you than Felice. Perhaps a water spirit or Eluvi herself? You smile at the thought.

Felice walks forward and down the hill behind the shack. The sound of running water. The croaking of frogs. You were that close to a river? In only a few short moments it comes into view, maneuvering through the rocks nearby to continue its journey through the lush, green forest. Felice falls to her knees to gather up a good bit of water. One drink, she repeats the same motion over and over until she's satisfied. The white haired maiden falls onto her rear, exhaling in satisfaction. "That was great.. thanks um..." she tries to think of what to call you. She's never referred to you by name, at least. "Chaos?"

There was nothing out of the ordinary. The water flows, the frogs continue with their racket, and the sun continues to shine.

I want to know how noticeable our shadow tendrils are. If we we can hide them within other shadows, hugging the ground, that expands the possible applications greatly.
And perhaps the display of power will draw some curious spirit or youkai that we can dominate.

The darkness in your own shadow stirs. Felice raises a hand, holding it just over the water. A tendril bursts forth, ripping into the surface of the river. A large splash. Fish retreat from the impact of the foreign appendage.

"W-what are you doing?" Felice asks about this sudden action. She tries to pull her arm away but you easily overpower her.

"Just watch." you look left and right. Something was bound to happen. Something of this nature inside a river? The river Goddess would surely come. And, you were right. The river begins to glow bright. Something pushes up against the tentacle. It starts out light, and then in a split second it's absolutely too much for you to handle. Your own appendage flies up and threatens to smack you in the face. You dismiss it before that can happen.

"What the heck?" Felice looks down and then straight up. Standing there on the other side of the river was a maiden in blue. She light smile, blue hair and eyes a deep azure. They seem lifeless and without focus.

"I'd appreciate it if you didn't do that." the girl known was Eluvi kneels down to touch. It glows once again as the fish calm down.

A river spirit or a Goddess? It didn't matter to Felice. She was certain that with your power and her own magic, she could be taken out.

You stop her, however, to think over the situation.

Division is good, but we must make ourselves look more appealing to join than them. Ask them to join us. If they refuse, kill them. If they join us, great. If they want to remain neutral, allow it and protect them from the backlash of that decision. Then we can slowly work opinion against the gods, they attack bystandards who want nothing to do with war, and we protect them.

"Oh... I'm sorry." Felice's cheeks turn a bright crimson. Eluvi stops her light giggle and returns to her previous position. She stares at the water, waiting for you to speak up.

"Your father is Enki, right?" you feel the need to clarify the situation. She responds with a nod. She drops her finger into the water again and stirs. "Your brother is Jorham?" she again nods.

"Now, about that not being able to do anything... you're the River Goddess, right? You make these people what they are. Without water for life, they're nothing. Why don't you-"

"No, no. I can't do that again, not again, no. I will NOT kill with my powers again." immediately flustered, she stands up and takes a step back and into the forest. Unpleasant memories?

Felice stands up, watching the River Goddess tremble. A series of words was enough to trigger something? She didn't seem like she was angry. She shakes like a leaf, ready to be blown away at a moments notice.

"Now what happened? I don't see someone like you starting a flood for your own amusement," you finish, "Felice, your thoughts?"

"She doesn't, no. She has a kind smile." with that comment, a smile breaks through the distraught face of the River Goddess.

"Your father punished you for following your own will?" the very thought angers you. This is the problem with the world and its Gods. Their unfair treatment of others, their conceited view. All of it irked you. She tries to open her mouth but you speak before she's capable of doing so. "There's nothing right with that." you take a deep breath. Well, not so much as you as Felice.

"What are you going to do Chaos?" Felice speaks up, looking back at Eluvi.

"I can give you your eyesight back and free you from this punishment from your father. If you want to join me, I would be overjoyed. If not, that's your choice and yours alone. As long as you don't oppose me or wish harm on others."

"Huh?" Eluvi stops shaking. She knew who you were, but the mention of the name 'Chaos' was what affirmed it. Her eyes close. She tries not to cry, but it's in vain. Tears fall down her face and fall to the grass like rain. She nods, unable to answer with words. The reasoning behind the response is unknown, but she nodded.

A dark line breaks through the air, entering Eluvi's stomach. She draws back, closing her eyes to deal with the sudden surge of pain. A few moments and she blinks. The view of the world slowly becomes clear. The first image she sees is a girl, smiling as she stands on the other side of a sun-lit river. She looks down to the river, feeling her cheeks. She pulls her mouth out before wincing from the pain of the back lash. "I can.. actually see... it's broken." she cries tears of joy. All sense gone, she loses herself in her own happiness.

You stand there across from the river, trying to fight back a smile of your own.

"Now that you can see, you may make a choice. We can walk together, you, Felice, and I. Or you can stay out of the coming conflict. The choice is yours to make, I will not force it upon you." the line that entered Eluvi's stomach retracts into Felice's finger tips.

The River Goddess stands up, smiling. "Thank you... so much. Now that I'm not bound by that punishment anylonger," she continues," I think I can do... a lot more for the world. I want to make a world where people don't have to depend on selfish Gods like my father." she didn't care if Enki was listening. She was her own person now, not bound by any sort of curse. She was her own person.

"That dream may just come true." you say as you continue to watch her. She stands up and turns away, entering the forest nearby.

"Thanks again... I'm sure we'll see each other again. If you keep your word about not harming people not involved...I won't oppose you." she turns her head to get a glimpse of the young summoner one last time.

You nod. She smiles and returns a bow before disappearing into the darkness. She was gone, but she wasn't going to purpose a threat. If she did, she'd be betraying herself and you.

With that, you stand up and strech your arms. Again, wasn't so much as you as it as Felice.

"What do we do now Chaos?"

Maybe try to find Jorham? Giving his sister her sight back is probably worth a few good will points.

Seconding. Now is as good a time as any to seek out the god of the forest.

Wow, it feels like we are sleeping our way up the ranks, only without the sex part. Lets convert our way to victory!

"We visit Jorham." the God of the Forest was, naturally, the next target. After restoring his own sister's eyesight, maybe he would be more willing to help you? He probably felt the same way about their father as she did, if they were alike. Was he older or younger? You surely didn't remember. As you think, you continue on your journey away from the river and into the deep forest. The wild life passes you by without so much as paying attention to your presence. Birds fly, crickets chirp, it's all in all a peaceful scene.

"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Felice looks around as she comes into a clearing. You don't respond right away. Thoughts pass through your head about how to call him out. With Eluvi it was as easy as stabbing a dark tendril into the water. Deforestation? That would give away too much.

    "I don't know."

"You don't know what you're doing?"

"The situation changed." you explain, "Eluvi came because I intruded upon her domain. Now, Jorham is a different case."

"Why not try yelling his name?"

Throwing her idiotic suggestion aside, you think.

Names hold power. At least, to those that invest power in them. Meaning everyone but us. Let us invoke his name.

Try snuggling a woodland creature? Probably should have asked Eluvi for an introduction before we parted ways with her.

Probably just find a nice comfy spot to sit, and wait for our presence to be noticed.

"Come on, do it." Felice nudges you on with a smile. The shadow at her feet distorts, maybe to show your annoyance? Well, you cave in, forcing Felice's hands up to her mouth.

"JORHAM!" you call his name. "JORHAM!" again.

The deer nearby turn their heads to the source of the noise. They freeze for a moment before sprinting away and into the shelter of the bushes nearby. "I guess it didn't work?"

    "You don't say?"

"Umm... yes?" a voice. An unknown voice enters your ear from behind. You slowly turn your head. Ever so slowly. You see bushes, grass, trees, but something else creeps into your sight. A boy with messy, blonded hair and a leafy crown. A monkey tail, and some other notable features. "You called my name, now what the hell do you want?" he hangs off a branch with his elongated tail.

Felice is taken back by the situation but you remain calm.

Time to talk with a Forest God...

    =End=

Will continue and finish the rest tomorrow.

Also should the speed of the quest increase as in events, or is this pace fine?
