You are Uraemrys, the Abdal. Beholder of Truth and Grasper of the Infinite.

You and four other gods have recently created a brand new universe. Thus far this universe has a single planet that holds life. This planet is Apotheosi, that which brings the ascent, named for the intentions each of the gods have for its denizens: Ascending to the brightest hights of morality, morality's darkest depths, the greatest beauty, the most perfect enlightenment, or the most epic of stories.

Major and Minor Creation have both ended, the world now exists as does the reality it shall abide by. From this point onwards, the game changes drastically from one of creation to one of manipulation. Now the true game begins, with every god watching this new world that bears on its shoulders the hopes and dreams that god has for it. With every god striving to bring those dreams closer to fruition.

Now shall begin the first day of the first age in all of this existence. The original dawn.

    >> Apotheosi !!0k60B3rqR/1 02/12/12(Sun)13:41 No.17914786
The other gods no longer wait around you, for conversation with one another is no longer the most interesting thing to do. Now every god has separated to tend to creation in their own way, and observe what they will.

Ius has gone to his temple at the top of mount Ius, the foot of which is home to the largest concentration of humanity placed on this globe, where he hope to watch the first sunrise and the first actions of the human race.

Sarma too goes to her holy place, her grove. There she wishes to be with the animals of her creation in their first moments of frolic, and to watch them inhale the first breath of her air.

Picus has withdrawn deep beneath the earth. There he walks the infinite chasms of his underworld, perhaps mapping the eventual homes for his monsters.

The formless waits in the void, he has nothing in particular to do for now. His goal is to watch to world in its most epic of battles, none of which shall occur for some time. So for now he waits in the void.

Where shall you rest in these first moments?
    >> Anonymous 02/12/12(Sun)13:46 No.17914826

We shall wait on the moon, for the first prayers to be directed to us.

    YES. YES.

Rest? We are the Watcher, and there is no rest. We take our place upon our throne of a moon, and we watch.

This, we are all about dat moon.

But then again maybe we should do something like oversee the first moments of the fey?

We wait on the moon and watch everything the moon watches. While Ius watches the first day, we shall watch the first night - and see who watches us back.

That is simply irresponsible. We are the Watcher, we cannot let something as simple as the time hold us back.

We should observe the first stirrings of all creatures, great and small, that we may record this for eternity.
    >> Apotheosi !!0k60B3rqR/1 02/12/12(Sun)14:13 No.17915053
You decide to wait, and watch, on the moon.

The world begins to move, as do all the celestial bodies. Apotheosi starts to turn ever so slightly, in degrees that would no doubt be invisible to mortal eyes but that are plain before your all seeing and infinite eyes. While turning, it also starts a motion which you know will eventually circle the star at the system's center. You take a moment to admire the magnificence of the universe before focusing your thousand gazes upon the happenings taking place within the planet's atmosphere.

Once you do look upon Apotheosi's surface, you see a million creatures suddenly lurch to life. Far outnumbering any other moving, organic creation are Sarma's animals, which fill the vast forests of the world with motion.

Then you notice the fey, the creatures of your own making. They seem unfazed by the sudden gift of sapience which has brought them to life, and look only to eachother with looks of varying emotion. Many run to their kin, shifting into one of their many different forms as they do so, while others turn and wander away to explore this world that is so absolutely new.

The humans seem less jaded upon their first perceptions. Most of them can do little but move inches at a time, taking in their surroundings with gaping mouths. Those at the foot of mout Ius point towards its top and shout sounds not yet ready to be called language to eachother. Some begin to walk towards the mountain, while others merely glance at it before turning their attention to things that must be done, such as construction of shelter and seeking of food.

The Drakfey seem to launch naturally into discord. Allready they fight amoungst themselves, and you wonder how they could posibly ever become a civilization. But eventually a sort of order emerges from the chaos, those who the others learned to fear now direct their lessers towards labor.

    >> Apotheosi !!0k60B3rqR/1 02/12/12(Sun)14:25 No.17915158
The monsters of Picus' creation gaze out from their montain homes. They observe the land much as you do now, then they stretch themselves out, roaring a terrible combination of sound and flame, proclaiming dominance over all the world. For now, however, they seem more focused on securing their own homes against each other than taking from the other races, but you know it will not be long before this changes.

You can see, amoung the celestial bodies, the angels gathering to sit together and watch the planet. They whisper their hopes and blessings for the humans to each other while pointing and whooing. You wander what their opposites, the demons, speak of in their homes around the planets core.

You can feel the presence of your elementals in every part of this creation. They are its building blocks and its gaurdians, and for now they are dormant.

The only thing you must strain to see are the abominations, for they are so far away even to you in their prison of the far realm. But should you try, you can see them watching the rest of creation with hatred and envy.

    >> Apotheosi !!0k60B3rqR/1 02/12/12(Sun)14:29 No.17915188
The universe behaves in this manner for the rest of the day untill night falls. Then the next begins and then the next. None of the gods seem to act yet, for there is nothing to really do yet but watch and wait for the beings to begin to take actions other than those necessary for survival.

You, however, have a duty. You proclaimed yourself judge of the dead, and at this moment you feel the first death of a sapient occur. You direct your conciousness to the afterlife where you will speak with this creature.

It is a human. He gazes upon you form and can do naught but praise you with the awe in his eyes, his mouth frozen in a silent cry. You remember when you made your form that you would appear to the mortals in a form they would see as perfect, and change to this.

You are now humanoid in appearance, though your skin gleams like obsidian and your eyes burn around pupils the shape of an hourglass.

The human still stares at you, still to afraid to speak.

What do you say to the poor creature.

Most of my kind wanted to settle down, gather resources and build shelters, but I told them it would be better to explore. I didn't like the darkness we were in, a place none of us could have ever imagined that was sorrounded by mountains and trees which denied sight of the rest of the world. I desired to learn more before we resolved to do anything permanant. I wanted to lift the darkness else in our blindness we should trip. Unfortunately, my opinions held little sway and I made my journey nearly alone, and proved insufficient in strength to overcome the natural environment. If only more of my kind had come with me, then they could be warned of the beasts that dwell in the woods. In darkness they shall trip indeed."

"You cannot think of a name because your kind lack language. You were right to say your people stumble in the darkness, there are so many even very basic pieces of knowledge they as of yet lack. Do you desire to bring knowledge to your people human?"

"Yes, more than anything." He replies.

"Then I shall grant you this power. There are parts of your world that no sapient has yet discovered, magic. The laws of this reality dictate that the dead stay dead however there are two magics by which your death could be undone. Necromancy, which is the power over the soul and over death. And Divine Magic, which simply allows gods such as myself to break the rules based on faith. Which of these do you desire to be raised by?"

The human thinks for a long time. "If I am to be a harbinger of knowledge I would want to be a harbinger of the magic that best represents it. You are the god of knowledge, so should I not be you vessel of divine magic?"

You reply, "Actually the magic I gifted the world was necromancy."

He seems happy, "I see! This pleases me because I was afraid spreading divine magic, and thus faith, would not always parallel the spread of freedom and judgment. If I can both more closely serve you and more closely serve knowledge by being your vessel of Necromancy then that is what I choose."

"Very well. You shall be the first creature brought back to life through necromancy, and of necromancy shall you one day learn to master, though I would overstep my boundaries were I to gift you such talent directly. I will call your kind "lich" and you will be my greatest avatars."

Also, you are given to the world to spread knowledge, not the worship of me. I only want those who seek me to worship me, to build a faith around me would be counter-constructive to our goals, do you understand?"

    "Yes, my lord." He says.

"Then go, you will rise were you fell, but do not return immediately to your people, continue as you first intended, wandering and learning."

You send his soul on its way.

You return to the moon and resume watching the events on the planet. After a short while, however, Ius appears before you.

"What did you do?" He asks, a tinge of anger in his voice.

"I acted within my bounds as judge of the afterlife. I understand that to only do this in my favor would be unfair, and had already made plans to give you and the others opportunities to do the same, when suitable people die." You respond immediately.

He relaxes, "I don't need to tell you that, regardless of how fair you intend to be about it, this kind of thing should not often occur."

"No you don't, I felt that him being the first soul to come to me was significant enough to mark this even as unique and worthy of such intervention."

The main part of your conciousness continues to watch from the moon. It is while you are doing so that Sarma suddenly appears before you,

"Uraemrys, there is a delima in which I require your attention."

    "What is wrong?" You ask.

"A Fey and a Human have copulated. The human female is currently praying to me constantly in request that the offspring not be an ugly abomination. This is bringing into existance a new kind of sapient Uraemrys... One combined of humans and fey. The fey are your creation, and so I though you should have a roll in deciding how this new creature should be, or if it should be."

"Shouldn't you tell Ius too? The humans were his creation." You ask.

"He said he wanted every god to have equal claim to humanity, he said it gives them more freedom. I've yet to tell any of the other gods of this development by the way. Do you think I should?"

    That crafty son of a bitch . . .

But this is all easily cleared up. We have no idea what Picus' creations are, beyond what few descriptions Apotheosi has given us during those moments. However, our character, the God, knows very well.

So, I ask Apotheosi to give us a more detailed description of what Picus created. Since it's information our character should easily have, it shouldn't be a problem. If it turns out that these werebeasts we're coming up with are no different than Picus' creations, then yes we are stepping on toes. If however, those phrases were just meant as a colorful way to say they're demonic, then we're not.

I think the fey were meant to be extremely longlived, in accordance with their traditional mythological depiction. This would presumably carry over when they are shifted, and even if it didn't they could simply shift to a form that didn't have such a short life.

Also, didn't we determine that the fey had no form of their own, so they're always shifted into the form of something else that suits their fancy? Longevity changing with their current shouldn't be a problem in that case.

After thinking for some time, you speak.

"I envision a creature that seems mostly human, save for a special quality of strength or wildness which could be attributed to personality. They are not fey, and thus should not be given the full powers of a fey, but I do see them as an extension of my third creation and thus do still favor them.

Therefore, I decree that whenever the full moon, my eye, shines upn them these half-fey will gain the powers granted to them by their fey blood, and shall be able to take on a single form from the vast selection of forms available to a true fey which most represents their personality."

"That sounds beautiful," Says Sarma, "But you speak as though these are your creatures alone..."

"No, I understand that other gods should have a say in this. Picus claims that all beasts with the mind of a man are his creatures, and these beings will certainly be part beast. Also, you are the recipient of the mothers' prayers."

"Yes, I would like to grace them as well. You say they shall be like beasts, so thus the beast shall recognize them. If they are not welcomed by either their fey or human ancestors, they will allways be able to find company with the animals of the wild. And finally I must answer the mothers' prayers directly, and I shall grant them not just the strength of a beast, as you have said, but also the beauty of nature in their grace when in human form."

You and Sarma explain the new creature.

"I see. You seem to shower this new creature in gifts. It would be a wonder if fey and humans didn't mate exclusively with each other if this is how things are to remain. Thus, I curse this creature with bestial instinct, so that it will always hunger. And when the moon is full and it is most in the form of the beast, so too will its voracity and furiosity increase."

Picus is a dick. I suspect he's merely using the guise of "fairness" as an excuse to undo the work of others.

I'd be very much against making concessions with a beast-master capable of such malice.

In fact in DnD terms he seems fairly archetypal LE.

No, the guy you're quoting is more correct in his depiction. Picus is evil, yes, but not chaotic. He has a definite purpose in hand. Him and Ius are the same, they're just seeking opposing paths. Formless is all about upsetting the balance as a whole. Picus may be evil, yes, but it's Formless who is the chaotic one.

I think that's a fair description, save that I wouldn't call Ius and Picus good and evil but, rather, Beneficence and Adversity. Picus is literally Shaitan, the adversary.

Yeah, Picus as the old-fashioned OT Satan makes more sense.

Formless creates chaos and conflict for its own sake, but while he's immature in that sense, he's not entirely stupid. If he gets out of line we can smack some sense into him.
    >> Anonymous 02/12/12(Sun)18:14 No.17917843

Much more accurate, and its nice to actually have a visual of it. We have two for maintaining Order, but by highly opposing means. We have another two who are all about keeping balance, but for separate, but not mutually exclusive, reasons, and one who will do anything and everything to make something momentous.

You are glad that has been resolved. You look down upon Aptheosi once again.

A group of fey are currently trekking through the desert, you wonder if they may come across the pillar.

Ur has ascended to the top of a mountain near mount Ius, and surveys the land.

The drakfey now have centralized leadership in the form of one especially large drakfey.

And a thirteen humans just arrived nearly at once in the afterlife, how odd.

Should you direct your focus to any of these things? Await something else? Or see what the other gods are up to?

"I am Uraemrys, the Abdal. I am the god of judgement, and I hold the pen which writes the epilogue of every life. Now tell me who you are, and why you have all fallen."

Your form shifts around uncomfortably for a few seconds. When you stated that you would allways be the image of perfection before the mortals who looked upon you you forgot to take into acount what happens when multiple mortals look upon you. Noting that the group is of mixed gender, you find yourself an androgynous human with great eagle-like wings, still obsidian in form.
