    You are a God.

At least, that is the state of your existence, you may not actually meet all the parameters of being called a "god" as of yet seeing as you haven't created anything. Its not that you haven't got any good ideas, you've read up on lots of different works by other gods (You are particularly inspired by YAHWEH's works, but have been reading up on some good ol'fashioned Azathoth recently), and have been cooking up lots of ideas lately.

No, your problem is that you haven't been able to find a group, and aren't really experienced enough to tackle a solo job yet. Fortunately, constant vigilance of group finder divinations has gotten you into contact with a just starting group of 4 other gods, only one of which has created before. You are particulary happy with what you know about the group so far seeing as the God Master (term used for lead god of a group) has said he wants to use a combination of the Genesis and Eldritch systems, perfect for someone who has read so much YAHWEH and Azathoth. The GM says it should allow the system to be very grounded (like in YAHWEH's "Earth" while still allowing for some of the cooler abstractions, like magic. He says he calls the system "Fantasy".

Anyway, the first session will be in only an aeon, so you need to get ready. You remember reading that the first thing most gods do in the first session is create an avatar that the other gods, and perhaps eventually even the mortals, can view.

What should you appear as? (pic doesn't have to be related)

High above the earth in the darkness of the night, the stars have begun to vanish. As the last pinpoint of light vanishes from the heavens, the only thing left is the pale and ominous moon, a last bastion against total darkness.

    The moon blinks.

When it opens again, we see only a massive eye.

The stars open their eyes as well, and the sky is covered in nothing but an endless expanse of eyes, as far as anyone can see.

    We have arrived.

    Combining. . .

You shall appear as a ominous flaming eye with an hourglass shaped pupil. Around this heart of your form shall circle uncountable wheels of platinum and gold which spin constantly, with the speed and inevitability of the sands which fall within your pupil. Covering these wheels will be smaller, versions of your eye, though rather than flaming they burn with angelic majesty. As your throne, you fashion a obelisk of obsidian, though rather than walls it seems to be made of thousands of statuesque hands that though motionless seems to be clawing their way to the peak. In terms of interaction, these hands may suddenly come to life to fly to any of the infinite corners of the universe to do your work. Should a mortal ever appear before though, your form shall shift into a perfect figure in their perception, save for that it shall be made purely of obsidian, and that its eyes shall be unmistakably yours.

Yes, this is satisfactory you decide. Off to the meet now, though you continue to think of ideas on how you will act and what you will create on your way there.

You arrive in the void, the empty area where creations begin. You are instantly aware of four others in this oblivion, remembering the form you had decided on you manifest.

You seem to be the first to do so, as your new eye sees nothing in this place. The other gods, however, seem to realize you have the right idea and shortly materialize themselves.

The first to manifest you know to be the GM. His name is Ius. His form Seems to be a ripoff of angels. He has a perfect human body, very masculine in feature, with two feathery white wings. In his right hand he clutches a rusted sword. He wears a blindfold.

The second must be Sarma. You guess this because it mentioned that it wanted to create primarily because it wanted to make art. Her form, now before you, is definitely the form a goddess of beauty would take.

You scoff a bit at the lack of originality of these two. But turn your focus to the third.

This one manifests at first as a formless inferno. But with time the inferno seems to take on shape. It is now a vaguely humanoid torso with pillars of fire making something that looks a cross between wings and arms. It has the head of a dragon's skull, also wreathed in flames.

    You suddenly hear a voice.

"OH! Ah... Aw shit... I forgot that we were supposed to do this, um, just give me a second guys, ill think of something."

"That is acceptable." Ius says, "I will probably change mine some before we are finished today."

"Yes, I think I will as well." Sarma adds. You think the others are impressed by your appearance, so much so that Ius and Sarma seem to be embarrassed by their more humble forms.

"Would everyone please introduce themselves?" Ius says, "I am Ius, the GM."

    "I am Sarma."

"Im Picus." Speaks the inferno with a booming voice. "When can we begin?"

"Soon" responds Ius. "And you, shapeless one?"

"Uh," Begins the voice from nowhere, "Actually that sounds awesome! Yah I'll be the shapeless one. Just a sec."

A few moments later a creature appears purely chaotic in shape, all the other gods look away in slight disgust.

It's time for you to introduce yourself... How do you do so?"

You will be working together. The first session is normally spent going around the void with each god adding something new to creation, once the GM thinks the world is complete major creation ends and the normal sessions begin. During these sessions the gods will oversee creation and may influence it in whatever ways they wish (with adjudication to prevent too drastic and sudden changes by the GM). Each God will try to bring the entirety of creation towards their wanted vision and attempt to manipulate each-other and mortals to do so without incurring the wrath of the GM.

"I am Uraemrys." You reveal. "The Abdal, The beholder of truth and grasper of the infinite."

You realize non of the othersgave titles. However upon finishing you can tell Ius is impressed.

"You said you have never done this before?" He asks.

"Correct, but I am well prepared."

    Ius nods.

    "let's begin."

he outstretches his left arm. From the void suddenly a new color emerges, grey against the eternal black. Then a bright light appears beside it.

"There, like I said we will be using YAHWEH's physics system for most things. This is called a planet and star, the first necessary thing for this kind of creation. Sarma, You're next."

She nods, she holds her hands upwards and spins as though dancing, suddenly the void is filled with countless "stars" as well as gasses, other rocks, and things you don't have names for.

"Those are galaxies, I recommend you move the home star system into one Ius."

    He does so.

Picus looks down upon the first rock, and blasts it with flame. When he finishes, the rock goes through a stage where it seems to be entirely magma, but then the magma cools around the surface. you can feel oceans of magma still burning under this cruse, and plates floating about it.

    "Formless one?" Ius prompts.

    "Oh, uh, I'll go last."

    ". . .Very well, Uraemrys?"

You need to add something to the cosmology or geography now. What should it be?.

You nod and focus the first of your thousand eyes upon the planet. ten hands fly off of your throne to where Sarma had left to orbit millions of smaller rocks. They grab one and form together behind it, punching it at once. The rock flies towards your center eye, and just as it meets your form the wheels part and allow it through, when it passes through your eye it becomes alit with flame and guidance. It then flies to and collides with the planet, only to withdraw still intact. Fragments of the planet however about, and collide with your projectile, adding to its mass, sealing this blessed rock within. Eventually the origional rock, still alight with your fires, is coverered by a nearly perfect sphereical shell of the planets fragments.

"This is called a moon, And it shall be an eye in the night that illuminates the heavens, and a second sun that illuminates the truth when surrounded by darkness."

    The other gods nod.

"All right I got this." The Formless interjects. And suddenly you can feel the universe begin to expand outward. Energies flow about the universe now with no pattern save for distribution. And in a few areas all light gets extinguished as a unsustainable amount of energy erupts.

Well shit, this is starting to sound an awful lot like the creation story in Diane Duane's So You Want To Be A Wizard series. The Lone Power, the one who hung back and watched the other Powers create the universe, finally added entropy when it was his turn to contribute. He ended up being the Satan-analogue for his crime, but for the purposes of this quest I feel we can forgive him for adding a YAHWEH-standard concept to the mix.

I vote we watch the Shapeless One very carefully, though. He doesn't seem to have a good handle on this whole god business quite yet.

"Now to add sapience." Ius begins, but Sarma interjects. "May I add non-sapient life? I have decorated the skies but the world is still barren"

"Yes, but you will lose your turn in the normal passing."

"That is fine." Sarma accepts, and falls down upon the rock. Once there she sighs and fills the planet with some of the gasses found thorugh the universe. With this shell of gas addes, she begins to sow life can may feed on these gasses and the sun in order to grow, and soon the planet is covered in green.

"Stop there." Ius says. "You may not do more than that in one turn."

    She seems saddend, but nods.

Ius draws his sword and swings it, it collides with the sun, and when it emerges from the other side flares burt forth from the blade in the suns color, takeing forms resembling him.

"These are angels, they shall preserve order throughout the universe, and all good sapience will look to them for inspiration."

Picus then flies to one of the black holes made by The Formless. He blasts his flames through one of these holes, and when they emerge on the other side the flames are black and twisted. They too take on forms resembling him.

"These are demons, they will stand for those who do not wish to look upon the angels in reverence, and those who wish only for individual freedoms."

You are unnerved by this, it seems like he is trying to create conflict already... but then again Ius was kind of pushy with his angels... but maybe Picus is just trying to balance things out.

Anyway it is your turn now... You need to create some kind of psuedomortal sapience... not purely organic, that comes later.

Our Abdal title should probably guide our actions here. Since Ius and Picus have created angels and demons and thus set the stage for the conflict of "good" vs. "evil," we should create something that might preserve the balance.

Let us, then, wake the elements. Let us give life and consciousness to the stone, water, air, and flames of the world. By creating elemental spirits, we shall allow the world a chance to preserve itself. They, and the world through them, shall be beholden to us for this act.

You don't like the stage for war which currently exists. You believe it is necissary to create a force now which has in its interest not the moral agenda of a god but rather the preservation of the universe itself. You look upon the various energies and forms which make up the universe and take bits from each of them. From each you craft beings charged with the preservation of their elements, and thus the universe itself.

"These are elementals, for they are crafted of the base elements of this universe in for the universe they stand, but as representatives and guardians."

The Formless seems to divide himself into other peices. These fragments are for a moment still, but with time begin to writhe into forms which do not belong in the same place as such concrete laws as this universe thus far runs by.

"These are abominations." He says. "For that is what they are to this world, to remind it that they are nothing to the cosmos, and that they exist because terrors to great for them to imagine haven't cared to awaken to them yet."

"No." Ius says. They do not belong here.

"But you said we could use eldritch rules too! And these function by text book eldritch..."

"Fine, but they shall be sealed to a realm of their own." And with a sweep of his sword it was so. "And that realm shall be called the far realm, for it shall be far from this world."

Perhaps the "fey" can simply be the way the elementals appear to the sapient organic species we'll eventually bring forth? After all, the connection between the fey and the essence of nature in traditional lore is a strong one, and it's not like a personification of stone, air, etc. is going to have the same concerns or outlook as a human. Maybe they won't be as wild as you say, but if they look upon the sapient organics and try to imitate them in some way, they can grow closer to something you might call fey.

Well I hate to be the second year physics student who mouths too much but gist of thermodynamics is that the system will evolve to increase the number of available states because the system effectively takes a very random in that it is huge random walk. As the average number of particle interactions is increased there are exponentially more states available so there is almost no probability of evolution away from this. Ice maximizes the number of available states available by melting or freezing either by increasing the amount of energy available for interactions by freezing or melting to increase the number of particles adjacent to any molecule. In fact temperature is defined for low energies and small systems using the the rate of change of entropy with respect to energy.

Presumably the basic YAHWEH system had something less like a random walk on a macroscopic scale.

The chaos god broke the galaxies into pieces.

These beings shall not, however, be equipt with the innocence of the animals, and shall be armed with greater form, sharper claws, and harder hides. You look upon the state of the world thus far. Generic humans... Generic animals... Generic monster... It's time to do something interesting.

You make a race without standard form. It isn't that they violate organic law, but rather that they have mastered it. They are capable of Shifting their form into various shapes, though the laws of the universe do put many limitations on this. But their control of themselves is not limited to their bodies, no, but extends to their minds. They Can communicate with their minds, and once magic systems are fully implemented to this world you will be sure to let them access that as well. Finally, you grant them an engrained personality that complements their ability. With the ability to live their life however they please comes the desire to explore lifes very nature. And thus they shall watch this world, taking delight in all that they see. Every laugh of joy, every scream of pain, an irresistable pleasure in their ears. Each new sensation, something unique and memorable to be preserved in the library of time.

"These are fey, They are my children, they are sinners and saints, arrogant and kind, immature and wise. They will serve none and this world will be their oyster, a home for their petty vendettas and brilliant experiments. They will be the guidance and demise of all sentient life, and they will never learn from their mistakes and they will never unite or form a true goal. And whenever my eye, the moon, shines upon them they will be blessed by my presence."

Everyone nods, though you have some questions on the specifics of it, maybe you will ask later or just do what you want and see if Ius approves.

"I grant this universe Arcana. With the power of cognition and sapient race will be able to use their understanding of the elements to edit them ever so slightly to their will." Says Ius.

"I grant it Druidic. With this power those sapients which wish to understand the beasts will be able to, and the beasts and plants will understand them and aid however they can" Says Sarma.

"I grant it Sorcery. With this, sapients who care not for the laws of the world can call upon powers which share that rebellion, demons and abominations." Says Picus.

Either that's a perfectly good explanation of how the idea of normal magic works, or that fucker's trying to horn in on our elemental stuff. I can't decide.

In any case, the logical choice is to add Shamanism.

Let us gift the sapient species with knowledge of the elemental spirits and the means to interact with them, that mortals with sufficient strength and wisdom might summon the powers of the elements themselves to their aid.

An afterlife would be critical for our Fey.
Considering they can summon a soul and have a nice chat with it before sending it back to gain even more knowledge and insight in events that happened ages ago.

You think for a while, coming up with multiple ideas you want to implement.

"Can I request for someone who didn't use their turn to use it for me?" You ask.

"If they agree to it, sure." Ius answers.

"Then would add areas on the planet which shall allow us to gift mortals who find them or manage to reach them knowledge, messages, or powers? Perhaps as an extension of divine magic?"

He seems to like the idea. "Sure, actually... I'll add another round so that each god can create one holy location on the planet."

Not exactly what you wanted, but good enough.

"Picus, would you be willing to create another monster, a sentinel of glass and smoke with an obsidian eye, which can be used to guard the plane of death from that of life?"

    "Plane of death?" he asks.

"Oh yes, I add the afterlife, so that as each mortal perishes, it is I who judges the actions of each creature and sends it to the diety it most served in life. With a single Caveat. If any creature is found to have explioted the laws we have put in place, it will be cast into Oblivion upon death, the formless void that makes even the far realm prison of the abominations seem a pariadise. Any creature suffering this fate will cease to have ever existed, and it will be our responsability to correct any destabilisation in the system caused by the offender. Is this ok Ius?"

"No, I won't allow uncreation, but the rest of it is allowable..."

"very well, and Picus, do you agree?"

The Formless is an ass, you decide.

"I would like my holy place to be a temple at the top of the highest mountain, so that only those of great perseverance may reach it." Says Ius.

"Mine shall be the greatest tree in the densest forest, a forest so dense that finding the tree should be nearly impossible to find without the aid of the forest itself, through my Druidic magic." Says Sarma.

"Mine will be in the heart of the world, pst countless monsters and guarded ultimately by one of my demons, so that it is nearly impossible to reach without the aid of a demon, and so that only the tremendously powerful may reach it." Says Picus.

The meteor burning within the heart of the moon is your temple, the moon itself is holy. All who seek you need only look upon you. All who want from you can pray when it reaches its fullest. The way I see it, we are more like the passive-aggresive fucks that don't do anything directly.
We record, watch and observe. We don't act, that is for others.
The only thing we should be against, is a static world.
Meaning, if anyone else of the other gods starts steamrolling the other, we will stand against them.
Evolving or devolving is acceptable outcomes. Being static is not.

Let's chat with Picus. He seems like a pretty cool guy. Maybe after Ius finishes tongue-lashing Formless we can talk with him. Ius, I mean.

    >>17888614
Never said we wouldn't occasionally ally with or against them. It's a boardgame. We can fight one another and still get along. I'd bet the entire fifth dimension that Picus and Ius are gonna be best buds by the time this is over.

Oi! No rolling with noko. That conceals your roll. Even if you're not cheating, it allows for the possibility of it.

It's just plain bad manners. You meant nothing wrong, but don't do it in the future.

Well, the Formless can be THAT GUY all he wants.

Ura will be the guy hitting on the pretty chick that doesn't really know the rules of the game.

    Let's play to the tropes.

Tell her that it is our wish to preserve the balance between us, so that none has the power to destroy or change that which is another's. We wished to speak with her because we felt that she'd be the most likely to appreciate our stance on this, and would perhaps aid us in our endeavors to accomplish it. If she is willing to accept our gesture of friendship, then we should both move to fully understand and learn of the others, those most likely to cause strife.

I'm not sure about allying the Fey too closely with nature though. Doing so might sacrifice what would be a powerful creative force, and her beasts can't aid our power.

"Thank you, I was thinking some of the other additions were a little generic and wanted to make something more unique. Originality is a beauty of its own, no?" You say.

She seems to miss the fact that you just called her animals generic, and says, grinning "Yes, art is all about creation, if one could simply imagine your art then it invalidates its existence."

"What do you think about the others?" You ask

"I was going to ask you the same. I like Ius, he seems to know what he is doing and his goals for this project are admirable. Picus is a little weird, I understand that he may just be trying to balance out Ius and make the creation less morally one dimensional, but..."

" I know what you mean." You say. "and I think everyone present is on the same page about The Formless..."

"I'm sure he means well, and he does have potential for great art what with those abominations and all, he just seems a bit immature."

"right... Well i was thinking that the conflict between Picus and Ius could be dangerous, it is in my interest to preserve a balance..."

"Mine too, I'd hate all this work being harmed over a war between them."

"So then we can agree to be allies? At least in the goal of preventing a divine war?"

"Yes." She says, "I'd like that."

You look around, Ius has finished talking to The Formless, and is examining the planet.

Would you wish to ask Sarma anything more? Or talk to another god? Or leave and come back next session?

Don't think of it as allying in the same sense as two generals against a common enemy, but as two separate entities showing open support for the other as a means to keep balance, and nothing more than the first in a journey to get all of them to agree.

Am I correct in thinking that each other god has a hand on our portfolio?

    Ius : elemental magic
    Sarma: Nature/ fey
Picus: Demon pacts messing around with the lives of mortals
