    We're Meta, we're moody.
    We're all a little boozy.
    And in this quest-oony,
    We're invading your /tg/!

    TG QUEST!

    Last Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17485818/

    THE STORY THUS FAR

You are the command crew of the Oncoming Storm, a transdimensional vessel in the service of the Transpace Guard, an organization dedicated to protecting reality in its myriad forms from the various threats to its existence.

The TG stands vigilant against such terrors as S.U.E.s, twisted entities that leech and warp any world they inhabit, space-time breaches that allow worlds to mingle and merge with each other known as Crossovers, and the many, many people who attempt to exploit the various planes and "Canons" to their own agendas.

Not too long ago, a massive disturbance in time-space ripped great holes in the fabric of reality, causing great distortions in this sector of TG's guarded space. Unfortunately, this sector being new and underfunded, the best they could send out was you.

Swiftly rallying a crew for your ship with the aid of Sector Manager Garret Holtz, you set out to begin your investigation...

You first went to check on a TG monitoring station that had sent out a distress call. You arrived to find not only the station, but the entire planet devoid of all sentient life save a small group of strange alien ships. The aliens, calling themselves the Orz, related a bizarre tale of how they came to arrive there, while other teams investigated the station and the surface of the alternate Earth, of the C&C Canon.

The teams found foreboding evidence on the planet below of experiments being performed by the Brotherhood of Nod into Chronosphere research. They discovered that whatever fate befall the planet, Kane escaped before it happened. You then decided to loot the complex and ally with the Orz, allowing them to tag along since they seemed to enjoy fighting. You kept them on as allies even when it became clear they were behind the disappearance of the planet's populace, perhaps following the adage of, "Keep your enemies closer."

In addition to that, logs from the station and an artifact pulled from a debris field around Mars indicated that two interdimensional ships, a Void Engineer vessel and a Chaos Battleship fought a terrible battle just before the Event. Their location was dead center in the Event's effect radius.

Deciding to gather more troops and gear before investigating, you returned to base, filed your report, spent your funding, and traveled to the second largest TG base in hopes of gaining more resources.

Upon arriving you found the planet, part of the Shadowrun cluster, invaded and occupied by drow led by a Supernatural Unbalanced Entity, a S.U.E. Making good use of Shadowrunners and the Orz, you managed to engage and destroy the Drow spacefleet in orbit, as well as kill the SUE, a drow priestess-princess with a stupidly long name that the 'Runners had nicknamed "The Royal Pain." With the death of the SUE, Ares Macrotechnology and Saeder-Krupp led a massive counterattack that as you left, was well on its way to massacring the drow on planet. With the drow out of the picture, the local hidden TG base was free to lift their security lockdown and resume operations.

You also managed to determine that the drow were brought here by an astral call from Spider that pierced the veil between worlds due to the Event. He also mentioned that amidst the flood of voices the Event opened to him, he recalled one word stood out. "Stob." This same word was mentioned in the recovered observation recording of the Void Engineer battle, an intercepted message from the ship mentioning the same.

All this being done you returned to base, received, and spent more funding.

Setting out once again to investigate loss of contact with another base, you arrived at a Fallout verse to find the battle of Hoover Dam being interrupted by an army of mutated anthropomorphic animals, the Ranks of the Fit. They were led by a minor SUE that was easily killed, and their forces were decimated thanks to the Storm's newly acquired air power, VF-25s and Tie Defenders. However, during the fight, a potent mutagen they had plotted to contaminate the Dam's waters with was breached. A combination of F.E.V. and the T.G.R.I. Ooze, this unholy mixture was central to the dead SUE's plan. An unlucky Auror was infected and began to mutate, but he was recovered in time for treatment. A team of Destroids set down to guard the infectious barrels while you decided what to do next.

While Egon and the E.M.H researched the mutagen, you sent teams of your troops out to loot caches of high technology in the wastelands, desperate to bolster your own meager resources with whatever the ravaged world could offer you. You walked away with a nice haul of power armor, advanced weapons, and nuclear warheads. Finally, Egon reports that the substance, called “F.E.M.” for Forced Evolutionary Mutagen, is vulnerable to destruction when bathed in a reality stabilization field, such as that given off by reality emitters. Now knowing the key to its destruction, you wiped the planet clean of the contamination and lifted off after an almost disastrous side trip to the Boomer's homebase.

On returning to base you were awarded with a science team of 20 X-COM scientists and a few sets of Advanced Power Armor mk2 for your troops. You regrouped, resupplied, and set out again to rescue the last TG base in the area. However, things did not go as planned.

On arrival in the system, a Dark Matter world, you were quickly detected by the Greys, who opted to pull their ships back rather than risk a confrontation with the one mile long battleship that they saw. Upon sending an away team to the TG base on Earth, everything seemed to be in order at first glance. The problem seemed to be some minor base damage from the Event, and Mouse set about repairing the equipment. However, several things didn't add up, and eventually the team concluding the base had been compromised. Unfortunately this realization came too late, as Mouse had been converted to a Sandman, and Spike and the Aurors were infected by nanites picked up from the base cafeteria. Attempting to recover their troops and flee, the Indefatigable beamed aboard the away team only for Mouse to attack and try to infect the rest of the ship. Luckily he was subdued before he could inflict much damage. The Storm and its escorts made the transpace jump back to base.

The jump did not go as planned either though, time slowing down as the mysterious G-man appeared to dispense some free advice and a word of warning before vanishing. The moment he left, the ships made it back to base safely, relating the bad news to Holtz. While Egon, the X-COM science team, and the E.M.H looked into ways to restore the infected troops to normal, a plan was settled on by the rest of the team. A containment bay was fitted to the Storm, the Indefatigable would attempt to beam all the Sandmen into the bay for deprogramming as soon as a strike team brought the base's interdict field generators down. With the help of access codes and floor plan from Manager Holtz, the team executed a well put together plan... unfortunately the Sandmen had prepared, and a remote-detonated explosive near the generators buried most of the team in rubble. However, the Indefatigable's transporters saved the day again, recovering not only the Sandmen, but all the troops buried alive before their air ran out. However, one of the dead was Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt.

The team salvaged what they could from the base and locked it down as best they could before returning to headquarters. Upon returning, they resupplied and refilled their ranks with a few fresh recruits, including Peter Quill, the Star Lord to replace the deceased Gaunt. From there, they set out to make contact with the Time Space Administration Bureau.

The TSAB appeared to be dealing with problems of its own, its own territory coming under attack in the chaos. Despite this, the agents of the outpost agreed to share information with the Storm since they did the same. The Storm was able to gain a TSAB analyzed map of this region of space-time, as well as data the TSAB gathered on the Chaos and Void Engineer forces. With a few words of caution, the Storm departed for one of the anomalous words on the map to check it out.

They arrived to find utter chaos. A world almost consumed by reality distortions, a mish-mash of many, many different Canons. Confronted by a United States run by Darth Vader and under the protection of a Death Star, the crew hastily gathered information while sending their Orz allies to attack the ships in orbit as a decoy. Swiftly fast-talking an overbearing SUE-corrupted Starscream into his own doom by giving him the information on the Orz he demanded, the group left to report and regroup. They were then allowed access to a large armed force for the mission of detonating a Rewriter Bomb, a device capable of resetting that universe back to its original state. When everything was ready, the task force assaulted and destroyed the fleet in orbit with the tactical genius of Admiral Pellaeon at the helm. With extensive planning they deployed Mecha-Godzilla to Kyoto, where it acted as bait for the bulk of the SUE forces while the rest of the army used stealth generators and cunning to secretly set up a base of operations at Tokyo Tower. While this happened, the orbital team managed the impossible, captured not only the Super Star Destroyer Executor, but two Imperial-II Star Destroyers with a well coordinated strike force, teleporting quantum torpedoes, skill, strategy, and a healthy dose of luck. They also confronted Darth Vader while aboard the vessel, the leader of the SUEs here, and slew him.

After trapping Alucard in a converted ghost-trap Al'Kesh, battling Godzilla, and suffering the assault of wave upon wave of expendable mooks led by SUEs, the team finally managed to detonate the bomb, repairing the world and causing a chain reaction that stabilized all worlds around it as well. They returned to base where their trophies were taken for retro-fitting, repair, resupply, and recruitment.

After a brief celebration with Sector Manager Holtz and the troops, the crew set out again, this time finding themselves in Middle Earth, where Ahriman of the Thousand Sons had erected a Chaos Gate to allow him passage. Intercepting him, the Transpace Guard made a deal. In exchange for a Lesser Ring of Power, and all the elven lore within Rivendell, he would not only leave the world peacefully, but share with them what he knew about the Event. At the same time, Tosh managed to apprehend a Shipper who attempted to poison Aragorn and Legolas' food with some form of aphrodisiac drug. The TG imprisoned her and impounded her ship, finding footage on it that suggested it once held a potent anti-Chaos weapon. A daring plan was immediately put into action for acquiring the Ring.

The TG sent down teams to acquire First Age weapons for a distraction assault on the Black Gate, drawing Sauron's gaze to them while others infiltrated and stole a Ring. First though, they had to scan the Rivendell Library with tricorders, a simple mission that almost turned disastrous when one clumsy Auror kept tripping into things. Nonetheless, it was successful. While Ahriman occupied himself with the data-slates full of lore, other teams descended underwater to the ruins of Gondolin, journeyed to Tor Morwen, and even set foot into the tomb of hallowed Fingolfin himself. It was during a final valiant duel against ghostly guardians to prove himself worthy that one Space Marine earned the title of Hero as well as the legendary sword Ringil. Darius Fortes took up the blade and alongside Star-Lord, let a valiant attack on the Black Gate that left its forces in disarray, though at a cost.

Meanwhile, Tosh led stealthed Delta Greens and Aurors into Barad-dur, infiltrating past its many defenses only to run right into a Ring-Wraith. As fierce combat ensued, the Ring-Wraith stabbed two Delta Greens, but had his one Ring blown off him by a Mass Rifle. Tosh grabbed the item and ordered a retreat as the tower's defenses came crashing down around them. They managed to escape in a cloaked Al'Kesh. Later on, the two Delta Greens were healed by a dancing and singing Tom Bombadil, while the Ring was handed over to Ahriman. Ahriman told them that the stob was the cause of the Event, and that it itself was an acronym, S.T.O.B. He then revealed he had been reduced to a fraction of his power the whole time he had been here thanks to being cut off from the Warp, thanked the TG for doing his dirty work for him, and left. Demoman blew up the Gate behind him.

You then returned to cash in your loot and then laid in a course to what your scouts had identified as a lynchpin world. You also managed to recruit the elf you saved from Rivendell, Finalon, into your ranks. You arrived at your destination to find a world covered in mists. Rescuing some survivors from the I.S.S in orbit, you learned that the mists bloomed from several locations across the world, a place in Maine, Pennsylvania, Transylvania, and the South Pole. In order to get information, you deployed PROOOOOOOOBES!

You found out that Pennsylvania was full of zombies, Maine was home to Silent Hill, the South Pole had the Mountains of Madness, and Transylvania had become a battleground between Count Dracula and Strahd Von Zarovich. Encountering Heather Mason (who later reclaimed her name of Cheryl), you got her to lead you to a sanctuary of survivors, whom you got some information from and then promptly spilled the beans on the Meta in front of. Peering into the future, the Farseers determine that Cheryl is the key to solving the problems of this world. They had also determined that the team only has a week, and cannot flee the planet or a great catastrophe will result.

With all of that in mind, you sent Lt. Commander Data and one of the probe droids to accompany Heather/Cheryl Mason and Douglas Cartland back to Silent Hill to investigate. You found newspapers that told of the sudden rise of apocalyptic cults worldwide, many of which appeared to be sects of the Six-Fingered Hand. On entering Silent Hill, the away team immediately had to face their fears in a most literal fashion, almost leading to Douglas' death. However, quick thinking and quicker acting by the command team, along with sending Spike down to reinforce them,

You encountered the horrors of Silent Hill, fought through them, and walked away with a vial of aglaophotis, the Great Katana, and fear immunity for everyone that had gone there. Your next target: Pennsylvania.

You arrive at Pennsylvania and swiftly send out your drone squad to gather information. They manage to learn that the various zombie types include L4D infected, Living Dead 'immortals', and T and G Virus zombies and monsters. However, all the 'living' zombies appear to have been killed and raised to true undeath. HK-50 is able to hunt down enough samples to show that a liberal application of force is enough to kill most of them. The presence of Riverside and Raccoon City are confirmed. Contact with a survivor is made, and he informs the crew that a lich-king is controlling the undead, then leads the probe droid to the only survivor holdout he knows about. The team meets Dr. Han there, who trades his research notes on the zombies in exchange for supplies for the survivors under his care. The team accepts the offer, and concludes the lich king must be Azalin Rex, from Ravenloft. They also decide that Carl Sagan works for TG Requisitions. Interviewing the survivors gives the team enough information to determine that a vampirized Wesker is aiding Azalin.

The X-COM teams complete their research into the zombies and hand out a vaccine against the zombie infection based on sandmen nanites. They also give the team a detailed report on the combat capabilities of the foe. With this information and some Farseer scrying, the team launches an assault on the Umbrella building where Wesker and Azalin lair. The fighting is extremely bloody and the team is forced to retreat. They come up with a new strategy, Char firing the Mega Bazooka Launcher at the ground in an attempt to melt a tunnel down to the basement levels where Azalin lurks. Instead, it collapses the skyscraper and the already existing tunnels. Crowe attempts the same with the Brasta, and though it works, Azalin escapes through a dimension rift accidentally made by the Brasta's VX-SPIGOT attack. After a catastrophically close battle, Wesker is slain. The team discoveres a vampiric SUE trapped in a stasis tube and elects to take it aboard for research rather than destroying it. After festooning it with reality emitters of course. The survivors are rescued, with some joining the Guard, and the city is destroyed with a photon torpedo set to maximum yield.

Meanwhile, in Transylvania, Darius leads a small team to investigate the village between the two castles. There they manage to gather enough information to not only secure a meeting with the burgomeister, but put together a plan. Learning that both Counts seek a mysterious woman that may be either Lisa or Tatanya, they use the two white mages with them as bait, Lyla looking oddly similar to the woman when dressed up. Sending out teams to scout the area, they also come upon an abandoned stone church from which they loot a magic mirror. Meanwhile a different group meets with a werewolf servitor of Strahd, and then are attacked by forces of Dracula attempting to kidnap Lyla. The TG forces manage to fend off the attack, but play it off to Strahd as if they had lost the decoy mage.

The team accepts an offer to meet with the vampire lord, and after some negotiations and lying, the Transpace Guard manages to get him to send forces to attack Castlevania as a distraction while they too, assault the castle on pretense of rescuing their comrade. Strahd also tasks them with slaying Dracula, promising treaties with the fake nation the team supposedly represents. The command crew sends their minions out to get their hands dirty. A small team successfully infiltrates Castlevania, takes moderate casualties, kills Dracula, and gets out with some loot. Lyla earns a promotion to hero.

After the battle, the infiltration team returns to Strahd, who commends them for his valor, then tries to subtly charm Lyla and Elaine, the decoy mages, into staying with him. The advanced bio-stabilizers they wear negate his charm, though, and the mages are able to gracefully turn down his offer. Not quite giving up, Strahd proposes a toast for his guests before they leave. In order to placate the irritable vampire, and trusting in his Space Marine poison-immunity, Darius accepts. Unfortunately, the poison within is a magical potion designed to enthrall the imbiber. Fortunately, Elaine knows Esuna. An Overlord-class dropship drops in Strahd's front yard and the Transpace Guard beats the unliving crap out of him and steals his stuff.

A probe droid is sent to Japan as the mists roll back from much of the world. There it finds that Tokyo has become the domain of Griffith, and his demonic Apostles. Clues gathered suggest the presence of Guts and someone else, later revealed to be the Persona 4 cast. The team learns that Griffith lairs in a converted skyscraper called “Hawk's Perch.” They make plans to assault it after making contact with both a resistance movement, and the P4 cast. They produce and distribute weapons to arm the insurgents.

Meanwhile, VP-99 successfully charts the Elder Thing city, and locates a huge chamber with a crystal pillar within. Forces are dispatched to secure the chamber, and after some time, the scientists managed to determine it is some sort of world-pillar, integral to the world's stability, and that the Elder Things did not make it, but found it and were studying it. It seems to interface with living minds which are psionically active. Cheryl is determined to be an extremely powerful psychic and begins training to unlock the powers of Alessa. Also, Aglaophotis-A is researched.

BLU Spy manages to find Guts and convince him to join in on the attack. Guts reveals that he is being aided by the spirit of Gondegal, as Griffith has merged with the spirit of Vlad Drakov. Meanwhile in Antarctica, the Protoss observer manages to locate an Elder Thing research complex. The bad news is that a gigantic shoggoth is lairing around it.

After much, much, preparation, the plan is settled on. Tosh and the Persona cast, along with the resistance, assault several residences of high ranking Apostles and force Griffith's army to depart the Perch to restore order. Due to a mixup in communication and some low rolls, Guts and BLU attack some Apostles to draw Griffith out. It works, but with Guts in melee, the plan to weaken him with bombardment fails. Despite this initial set back, the teams deploy and overwhelm Griffith, forcing him to transform into Femto. Even with the spirit of Drakov and Zodd aiding him, he is destroyed by Guts, the Transpace Guard ensuring the God-Hand's minions do not save him. However, just as Femto falls the Perch erupts into a cloud of rubble and the Idea of Evil, fused with Erebus, rises from the smoke.

A desperate struggle ensues, with the Indefatigable attempting to overload its reality emitter to damage the god. The attempt fails, and the command crew convinces the captain not to risk another shot. The Indefatigable retreats, out of the fight as amassed artillery of the Oncoming Storm's mech and vehicle divisions opens up on the Idea of Evil. Though badly damaged by volley after volley, thanks to reality emitters, the god counterattacks viciously, causing casualties and consuming the Hellstar lance whole by throwing them into the Earth's magma layer. The Al'Kesh and the Vfs drop off a strike team along with Guts and the Persona 4 cast onto the god himself, fighting the monster on a battlefield of his own nightmarish flesh. After a fierce battle, they manage to slay the monster, barely managing to escape the plummeting corpse before it slams into the ground.

With the mists receding from all the globe save Antarctica, the Ebon Night tells the command crew they are free to go. They do not take him up on the offer, instead sending more troops to destroy the Shoggoth at the research complex and secure it. They manage to do so with a clever plan, and lay claim to the place. Investigating it, they find stasis chambers with mutated, partially crystallized shoggoths within. They also find a mysterious hatch within a room with a shoggoth-wall trap.

That night, the command crew is visited with a dream that is not a dream. They find themselves in the Velvet Room, speaking with Igor and Margaret, the servants of Philemon. Igor states that Philemon is an enemy of the Ebon Night's, and offers aid, some for free, some with a price. The command crew agrees to accept Philemon's aid by awakening the Persona of Douglas Cartland in exchange for the detective's experiences recorded into the deity's archives. For no cost, Igor reads the Tarot for the crew, and gives them several mysterious hints about their future, including a warning that they will face one who claims to be Nyarlathotep, but in truth is not. As a courtesy, Igor offers to return Guts and the Persona cast to their native worlds for free at the end of this. He offers to let the crew “borrow” one for a while, but they decline. An ominous portent for the future is shown, but escapes many.

Egon reports that translation of the book the team found back in Silent Hill is complete. It provides more information on the nature of the Dark Powers, and the Ebon Night. Plans begin to form as BLU team begins opening sealed vaults to investigate them. They soon find themselves in a life or death struggle against some strange infant Eva Angel modified by Elder Thing experimentation. A second vault holds a shard of the world-pillar, with Adam entombed within. The research teams also find the Elder Thing data vaults and begin mining them for information on their time-space experiments. They also manage to figure out the basic of 'operating' the world pillar to alter the world.

An attempt to read the future backfires as the Ebon Night possesses a Farseer to issue a warning to leave that night, then animates the seer's skeleton while still in his body. An attempt to open a vault with a space-time crystal shoggoth works out just as well, with heavy casualties, but a separate battle with a normal shoggoth allows the team to discover the Lance of Longinus in a basalt vault.

The night of the attack comes and everyone is shuttled down to the pillar to protect it as Cheryl and the psychics of the group attempt to commune and use the pillar as a weapon against the Ebon Night. The Dark Power takes exception to this and pulls the Oncoming Storm command crew down into the battlefield to share in their troops' defeat as it manifests in the form of a gigantic ebon dragon. Cheryl notes that even now, he is still not recovered from the ordeal of escaping the destruction of the original Ravenloft. He is still weakened, and Cheryl uses the world-pillar to make him vulnerable to the team's weapons.

A vicious struggle ensues in which the Transpace Guard is nearly driven to defeat. The Ebon Night summons horrific vision to paralyze nearly the entire attacking force with fear, but those who braved Silent Hill shake off the effect, and the spirit of Gondegal is able to eventually rouse Darius, Star-Lord, and Finalon. The Black Arrow is fired, greatly weakening the monster as it is followed up with the Lance of Longinus. Even this is not enough and Cheryl manages to summon the ships' VF squadron to aid in the combat. It is still not enough and Douglas summons his Persona for the first time, revealed to be the Bear-God Okku. Finally the psychic team makes use of Char's newtype abilities to channel their combined power through his beam-saber to deal a final blow to the monster. The Ebon Night begins to flee, and in a desperate attempt to destroy him before he can escape, Cheryl uses Adam to trigger what appears to be Second Impact. Everyone in the command crew blacks out.

They awake to find themselves and most of their surviving troops on a flying island. Sending the probe droid and observer out, they soon find out it is the Kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger. However, something is wrong. There are no animals, and no people. The Aurors scry and managed to locate Char and the mechs in the skydocks near the Blackbird, and Tosh in the palace. All are unconscious. The team sets out and succeeds in contacting and waking Char and the VF squadron, meeting a ghostly Belthasar while there. The time-lost ghost reveals that he, and indeed the entire island, are not real, but rather echoes left on time by the tragedy of Zeal's demise. The team is then attacked by a rotting draconic arm that emerges from a rift in the air. It is swiftly destroyed by Char, who notes that the arm seems to be a shard of the Ebon Night's soul that broke off to pursue the team with a blind vengeance.

The team investigates the city of Kajar next, locating and recruits the Echo of Melchoir to their cause. They are attacked once more by another shard of the Ebon Night, but they manage to defeat that as well. Conducting a sweep of the island, they find nothing they can use, and they are quietly informed by the Gurus that the longer they stay in the echo the more they attune to it. Eventually the unseen hordes of echoes from the other inhabitants of Zeal will be able to see and interact with them. That would be bad, so the team hurries to the palace to rescue Tosh. Aurors scry the area to learn that Tosh is being held captive, along with Gaspar, near an active Mammon Machine.

An aerial assault on the palace is conducted, a strike team breaking through the windows after being carried by VF Messiahs and the Hyaku Shiki. They free Tosh and Gaspar, but the echo of Queen Zeal arrives. Devastating the team with her potent magic, the battle takes a turn for the worst, getting even grimmer as the Mammon Machine is struck by stray fire, malfunctions, and acts as a gateway for the final shard of the Ebon Night's soul to attack the team. Surviving by the skin of their teeth, the strike team defeats the pair, but the battle has created a growing rift that is destroying the echo of Zeal. Everyone gathers around the Blackbird and carries out a last ditch effort to survive by modifying the giant ship to exist outside the echo with magic, then using Char and Tosh's residual psychic link to Cheryl to act as navigation. They dive through the rift... and emerge near the Oncoming Storm and the rest of their forces.

After the reunion, clean up operations are finalized and a course is laid in for home. With their mission complete, they make it back to base and file their report. Gone for two weeks without word, the base was in the midst of organizing rescue efforts. A stunned Holtz listens to the team's report and begins to set up reinforcements and requisitions for the battered task force, along with a mandatory two week vacation to give the group time to mourn the dead, recover, and repair/refit the ships. Aid from the branch offices rescued has finally arrived in the form of shadowrunner teams and a securitron army. The trophies taken from the Vaderverse are also ready for deployment, drastically increasing the task force's naval might. All the news is not good, however. Ominous rumors have reached the base of a shakeup in the Transpace Guard's hierarchy, possibly making requisitions difficult. Now the team has two weeks to plan, prepare, and, in the case of Holtz as least, drink like fish.

Find out if Antaeus-refit included Shields and reality emitter. If not, we fix this.
Find our if ISD-refits included Reality Emitter. If not, we fix this.
Upgrade all our Reality Emitters to the Mark II spec.
Have Gurus look over the Reforged Ring of Sindi, and see what they make of it, if it seems safe enough to them, have them make use of it to augment their crafting.
Follow up with going over Gurthang, seeing if they feel it would be safe to reforge and issue.
Upgraded Shields and Emitters for the two Al'kesh.
    Reconstruct HK-50 and VP-98.
Install Incursion technology on the Indefatigable, VP-99, VP-98, HK-50, and a squad of Securitrons.
Have the Gavs, Data, and a Techno-Wizard (Telemechanics, you _everything_ about a machine while in effect) go over the remains of the old EMH's mobile emitter and feed that data into the Creation Engine. Even if we can't reconstruct the emitter portion it was stated numerous times to be constructed of advanced materials and hosted an amazing power source. In the STO timeline they eventually reverse engineered it and put them into widespread use.
Get with Data, the Gavs, and a TW for good measure, and begin working on getting designs for our existing equipment and replicator files converted over for compatiblity with the Creation Engine. Start laying plans for Creation Engine upgrades.

Shields for the Tanks, Battlemechs, VB-6s, and VF-25s. In that order.
Note that we've savalaged everything from every battle, so most emitters from the fallen were likely recovered.
We should beef up the Emitters on our mech units, it they aren't already counted as Vechicle scale and not just Personal ones.
Have TWs work on Storage Talismans for the White Mages.
White Mages see if they can make Ethers and Elixirs.
Get Non-mages used to our shipment of Fallout Power Armor and weapons.
Have TWs and Gurus work on TW armor options for the White Mages, and then for the Abjurers and Psions second.
Basic soldier boosts for our people.

    Research list:
Finish up the Offensive Reality Emitter research we've been working on.
Figure out just what is up with that Vampire SUE-rum
    Get cracking in Aglaophotis-B.
Study our Lance of Longinus, S2 Engine, and the Blue Crystal. Research is likely to overlap between these given the shared source and Elder data.

Well, a real simple answer is that the Firemen want to enforce their own will upon canon after getting all the juicy parts and burning the rest down.

I'd hazard a guess that one of the first steps to re-shaping most of reality in your image is to gather lots of reality-distorting weapons or entities in one place under lock and key. If you know how to create a controlled reality explosion or such (i.e. re-writer bomb), then it's just a matter of finding out how said reality weapons work and seeing if you can control them.

Then you create a shield or a place where you can stand and not be re-written by the resulting reality wave and let the booms begin.

Of course, if there are pesky moderates or non-megalomaniacs in the way, you either annihilate them or create a crisis in which they are forced to agree that such a drastic action needs to be taken.

"How's it look, doc," Char asked, sliding off the examination table. The farseer and the X-COM scientist looked at each other, then to their 'patient.'

"Well, your newtype powers seem to be more or less in line with what we'd expect, though with a few variations," the bald man answered, adjusting his glasses. "There are a few anomalies though. Your level of psychic activity seems to spike under certain conditions, for example. Also, your combat precognition is at a level we at X-COM have not encountered before. I'd be interested to investigate that further at some point."

"In terms of comparison to psykers, you are weak," the farseer states, crossing her arms. "You possess rudimentary telepathy, sensitivity, and precognition abilities, but not much else." The farseer pauses. "This does make you less a candidate for possession, though. Be glad of that."

"You sound so dismissive," Char says, a small smile creeping onto his face. "How many psychic humans have you met? Are you sure that's the limit of my... strengths?"

"I'm over four hundred years old. I've met plenty," the farseer coldly states. "I'm sure."

"Nevermind..." Char says with a wince as he heads for the door.

The X-COM psitechs report that the newtype brain and psionic waveform pattern fascinate them. They seem to be a slightly different form of the psionically active brain, and theorize Char may be able to use a psi-amp with the right training, or conversely, with newtype training X-COM psychics may be able to learn to use their psychic powers to aim and dodge better.

Aye, it seems to amplify existing traits.
The example of the non-Australian was a brilliant Texas inventor and weaponsmith, who was fairly reserved and stoic initially.
Stage one exposure had him inventing more brilliant things like the Immortality Machines, dressing more casually, doing even more with guns, enjoying beer more, and growing out his facial hair more.
Stage two got to a full blown gentlemen's mustache, overly muscled, with a keg of beer under one arm and laughing at the freshly installed robotic hand on the other (fully functional and bleeding around the edges), with chest hair in the shape of Texas.

Well, if we can't get the KoG, a Mortar Headd is superior to both Gundam and Btech mechs in terms of speed and durability. Some of them can fly for extended time periods. Then there's the issue of Buster Launcher, that weapon would be a great asset to our arsenal.

Could be worth getting a Fatima or two for the benefit they provide to piloting, maybe they could be integrated in the mechs we already have. I'm sure we could get a nonexpensive one that dies in the canon.

I'll be adding scenes as I feel up to them, not necessarily in chronological order.

The first two days of the break are taken up with preparing and holing a small memorial service for those who had fallen in the course of the Oncoming Storm's struggles. The dead are remembered and mourned in a simple service. Depending on the deceased's final wishes, the bodies of the fallen are either interred in a cemetery reserved for Transpace Guard use, or shipped back to their original homes.

The next two days after that are rather somber, base personnel offering counseling services to those who need it. Spirits rise on the fifth day, when Egon reports in.

"Based on the maneuver carried out by the Indefatigable, with refinements based on ghost trap technology, we've managed to develop a process for turning a reality emitter into a short range energy weapon. This weapon emits a beam that disrupts the energies of beings with otherworldly powers, causing a number of effects ranging from a general weakening of power all the way up to paralysis depending on the target. We feel this field holds far more potential, but we currently lack the research material to progress further."

You may now build "Reality Disruptor."

However, putting a Reality Disruptor Cannon on a teraport-equipped drone with an annie power plant would make for a drone that can fire concentrated blasts of reality at targets while it teraports all over the place.

    >"Analysis complete. Subject: Sindri's Repaired Ring. This item, once a Ring of Power given to the Dwarf-Lord Sindri, has degraded immensely in power since being in Smaug's belly for centuries and then partially repaired by Auror magic. However, this has proven to be a boon in disguise, as its corruptive influence has faded. Though it no longer has much of its power, it has two notable effects. The first is a sort of 'treasure sense' gained by the wearer. The ring-bearer has a sixth sense for finding treasure, especially gems and precious metals, and luck seems to follow them in terms of finance. The second power is that this ring, intended for the dwarves who are master craftsmen, greatly enhanced the ability of the wearer to craft, build, forge, or otherwise create items of any sort so long as it involves metal or stone. The only downside is that the bearer develops a greedy streak, but tests show this to be well within acceptable bounds. It does not appear to cause obsession."

Trying to see if I can bring together a concise description. Tricky part is that its hard to narrow them down.
Chrono Trigger's Zeal and the Gurus are a very good example of a heavily TW place, and I would stat the Gurus as Techno-wizards. Planes, water heaters, swords, power armor, house lights, and sweaters for surviving in the arctic. Techno-wizards are as eclectic as they are eccentric. Ranging from the popular trend of recreating 20th century aircraft and wearing bomber jackets in North America, to the more artfully engraved and usable by anyone gear from South America, all the way to the Dwarven Guildmasters of the United Worlds of Warlock and their practical rough and sturdy style. They are people that felt the calling of magic and combined it with a love of devices and tinkering.
So much so are their passions combined that any spell casting they do without a focus is weakened by half, or costs double. Like a gun or lighter for a fireblast, or a pair of glasses for see invisible.

Summary of Repaired Ring of Sindri:

-Gains a "sixth sense" in regard to finding treasure.

-Becomes better or more lucky in financial matters.

-Increased ability at crafting, repairing, building or enhancing items, so long as they are made of metal or stone.

-Wearer becomes greedy, but within the normal boundaries of a healthy mental state.

They're designed to handle a wide variety of demands as far as weapon systems are concerned, and if successful the next step to a large-scale "handheld" for other mecha like the VF's or a vehicle-mounted system for the Von Luckners will be easier still.

Something more "Gunpod" sized gives us a good multi-platform system, though.

Alternatively, I might suggest using the Gunstar as a prototype platform. It's also definitely designed to handle a wide variety of demands and by it's very construction is comfortable with shifting power demands between weapon systems, shielding, etc. with ease. Installing a RDC shouldn't be too demanding, and we've been looking to upgrade it anyway. A high speed space unit with RD tech isn't a bad idea, and the idea of mixing disruptor fire into a Death Blossom is delicious.

We can't replicate replusorlift units (use subnuclear knots of space-time created by black holes), so that's out.
And simply taking them out and slapping them on a Gunstar or Gundam is no way to make them able to manuever or fight in atmosphere. All it does is allow them to go up and down.

We need to research an actual upgrade pack for the Gunstar and the Hyaku Shiki.

Mass rifles fire micro-blackholes that ignore armor and shields. They will not be phased out because we have no weapon short of the Lance of Longinus and the First Age weapons that can equal them.

    >Platinum Mail
    >Probably best to just sell it.
No, this is magical Castlevania armor, which means that despite its material, is very effective. Until we can manufacture armor that provides better protection while not limiting Finalon's mobility, this is best kept in use.

    >a vial of aglaophotis
    >Medic's syringe gun or his crossbow would be useful for this, as would the White Mage's chemist (throwing) skill.
We already have Toxiguns that fire 240 shield-piercing darts a minute, so they would be a better choice if we were even going to use this.
But we aren't, because this is the pure sample, that's needed for researching Advanced Aglaophotis and the Aglaophotis-B darts.

What can our Manufacturing team make at the moment? Anything in the way of cloaking/camo, weapon upgrades, armor upgrades, or shields?
    >> Anonymous 01/12/12(Thu)00:20 No.17510445
    >>17510353
And here's a brief description of what everything does:
    >Economizers - Makes all spells cost 1 MP
    >Ethers - Restore Mana
Nethack Holy water: Can bless (make holy) or uncurse any item. This includes a larger container of water.
Book of Identify: An Identify spell that works on items both magical and mundane.
    >Alleria's Flute of Accuracy - Increases nearby friendly ranged units damage by 10%.
    >Warsong Battle Drums - Increases the attack damage of nearby friendly units by 10%
Staff of Negation: Dispels all magical effects from a target, or tightly clustered squad. Also hurts summons. 6 second cooldown.
Alpha Centuri databases: A collection of future technologies up to about 2300. Surprisingly comprehensive.
Black Barrel: Enforces the concept of Finite Lifespan on things it hits. Good vs. immortals and gods.
Austrailium: Makes a person brilliant, but eccentric.
Nannybags and Rejuve tanks: Undoes death, if a person's head is intact.
    >field too long, more

Getting back on track, after the engineers finish upgrading all Reality Emitter's to Mk II, perhaps we should have them fit the Neo-Gotengo, the Antaeus, and perhaps one of the Al'Kesh with the Incursion technology.
That will provide us with three vessels that we can use to infiltrate, and if necessary, impersonate Canon-natives.
    >> Anonymous 01/12/12(Thu)00:27 No.17510511
    >>17510445
Nannybags and Rejuve tanks: If someone's head is intact, can rebuild their body and restore life.
Mobile Emitters for Holograms, Portable emitters: Produces holograms that can act as solid objects. Either to disguise, or act as a physical barrier. Sufficiently advanced and powerful holograms can even mimic sentient creatures, such as Medical Officers.
PROXY: Star wars training droid for lightsaber combat. Can change his appearance to mimic any humanoid. Basically, Drone hero.
Magic Cryokit: It's a re-usable medkit powered by plothax. We already have it.
Incursion tech: Just an application of Holograms to make thing A look like thing B, so we could disguise airplanes as giant birds or rifles as crossbows. Stuff like that. Basically, "Hologram" is listed 3 times in the list under various different names.

Our time to get all of this done is limited, and we will most likely need to prioritize.

I don't see the use in that.
Mouse just interfaces with technology to have bonuses to hacking; he can't improve something's performance.
He's trained in electronic warfare, but not with the avionics, ECM, ECCM, and command systems of the RVF-25.

OK, yes, you need to pick a place to go next. I didn't know I needed to say that.

If you want to hold the re-vote for the skills now that would be good. I'm going to handle research for the 'free-time' now because it's the easier thing for me to do.

On the ninth day of your vacation, your scientists report they have completed research into the Vampire SUE. In addition to a large amount of miscellaneous scientific information on how SUEs operate, after examining the containment machine itself and the excretions, they have determined that the SUE has been surgically, genetically, and magically altered to produce a serum that infuses the recipient with SUE essence. This seems to have a number of effects from increased physical abilities to enhanced magical power to damage immunities. It has not been tested on humans, but from the data they have, it would certainly produce a number of side effects, mostly unpleasant. Furthermore, the vampire SUE appears to have been a normal human girl at some point. All data has been sent to Sector HQ's research staff. They have expressed interest in researching a possible cure, transforming the SUE back into a normal human.

    >Pick 1 skill for Spike

"How did you hit that?" -When fighting a target that is unable to be injured by normal attacks, Spike has the miraculous ability to injure the target by bypassing all protections.

"What, you don't believe me?" - Spike is exceptionally good at bullshitting people. He could bullshit his way into the Pentagon and get it closed down for a day, if need be.

"The Wheel of Fortune" - You don't survive this long without being at least a little lucky. If Spike is present, he may reroll 1 unfortunate circumstance per hour.

"How many pints of blood do you have?" - Constant trauma has proven him to be practically impossible to kill. Wounds that should outright splatter another man all over the room, leave Spike merely weakened and bleeding, out of the fight but alive. He remains stable after even the most horrific wounds and can recover with proper medical treatment, generally passing out sometime after most people would be passing on.
    >Pick 1 skill for Tosh

"Voodoo" - When Tosh has a piece of a target, he can create a voodoo doll of it and cause damage to the target via the doll.

"Dis is how you do dat" - All entities with a mind have some degree of Psionic potential. Tosh can help people to find and express this potential.

"Da spirits say" - Tosh can telepathically talk and listen to a wider variety of things. Gods, shoggoths, the spirits of a place, the spirits of an item, perhaps even Magic itself if the setting allows it

"I've got an idea, mon" - Tosh is able to exert his psychic power to change the thoughts a person is currently thinking. He can use this to change people's minds, erase his presence, or even teach.

"Tell Him About the Twinkie" - Already well versed in the sciences and paranormal, Egon quickly picks up on varying versions of both from various Canons, both integrating new knowledge into his work and able to explain it in concepts that his fellows can understand.

"Tinkerer - Egon has the ability to create and alter tech on the field to work, regardless of the tools and materials needed.

"It's easy to explain" - Egon can introduce scientists to the basics of Paranormal or Magical study, and magicians to the basics of the Scientific method.

"A gentleman and a scholar" - Due to Egon's massive intellect, he has realized some of the rules behind the metaverse. He can make the technology of different canons fuse in oddly effective ways.
    >Pick 1 skill for Cheryl

"The Will to Power" - People nearby Cheryl gain a boost to their mental attributes and a resistance to mental damage.

"Your Power is MINE" - Besides dark humor potential, she is adept at using the reality manipulating powers of others for her own purposes, while somehow not being tainted by them.

"A light in the darkness" - People in need of help will always find their way to Cheryl. This includes canon natives, as well as transpace guard operatives

Silent Survivor - Her constant struggles with Silent Hill and her psychic powers have left her with an amazing intuition. Due to this, she often knows the direction attacks are coming from before they occur and is able to use her powers to prevent her friends from dying.

"Inextinguishable Light" - She's been through Silent Hill and Ebon Night, passing these trials of darkness have proven not to mar her goodness. Though her sense of humor is still morbidly dark.

"I already lost my son" - When his friends are under threat, or in a state of fear and panic, the combat strength of Douglas and his Persona increase proportional to the level of threat and/or fear

"Grinding social links" - Douglas is exceptionally good at making friends, by sympathising with people's plights and struggles.

"Papa Bear" - Doug gives a shit about people. Specifically about them making it out alive. Both he and his persona are likely to take hits meant for squishier party members.

"Old Detective" - Douglas has been a detective and then a PI for a long time, he's good at picking up on clues, and plying people for information.

"Contacts" - Philemon may be contacted at any time (via Douglas), and may present offers, deals, help, or intel
    >Pick 2 skills for Elaine

"Don't die on me damn it!" - Due to seeing many of her friends die before her eyes, she has gained the ability to bring people back to the brink life (1 hp) by sacrificing her own health.

"I HATE THE DARK!" - Because of her fights with the undead and Ebon Night, Elaine has learned how to cast a Holy that seems to consecrate the area, causing constant damage to all evil and undead creatures within its borders.

"Aura of light" - Elaine emits a curative and healing aura that affects all friendlies nearby her.

"Remembrance of the Fallen" - Stricken by the loss of friends, Elaine's magics can reach farther than most to recover allies from the clutches of Death.

"Make it in Time" - This determination combined with her Time Mage training grant Elaine the effects of Haste in combat.

"It counts as healing, right?" - Elaine can heal sanity loss, can heal damage dealt to machines, can patch holes in physical structures, and even heal some reality distortions, much in the same way that she heals flesh.

Failing that, we're better off grinding for funds on those grey worlds.

Also in the downtime, pilot/troop training. Still need to make an itinerary. We can probably hold several kinds of training sessions (troops and pilots on the same day for 3 days?) at once. >>17510670

    >Pick 2 skills for VP-99

"The Path Less Traveled" - VP-99 is particularly adept at finding hidden passages and unused paths, or otherwise finding ways around that have the least amount of traffic.

"Miraculous Survivor" - Whether it is luck, fate, or particularly good damage-avoidance protocols, this unit can (and has) survived where many other units have fallen, often unscathed.

"Treasure Hunter" - This droid has miraculous luck when searching for equipment and treasure. When he is around, all treasure hunting goes far better than it would have otherwise.

"One bot's trash" - When a mechanical units die around VP-99, it can loot their experience, memory, and parts, then integrate said parts into itself

"The droid you're looking for" - VP-99 is adept at camouflage, disguise, and subterfuge. It can pass itself off as unremarkable, and perfectly normal, allowing it to stay stealthy even in plain sight.

"Silence of the Diodes - VP-99's penchant for integrating (consuming) the vital components and self-identification routines of other droids and robots makes even the most stoic of AI's nervous and unsettled when under the calculating gaze of his optical scanners. Attempts to suborn or hack VP-99 by other AI's is usually doomed to failure, as well his own hacking and subversion protocols being unusually effective."

    -

Also, if someone suggested new stuff, I forgot them.
    ALSO:
    >"Your Power is MINE" - Besides dark humor potential, she is adept at using the reality manipulating powers of others for her own purposes, while somehow not being tainted by them.

Perhaps we should power through that cure ourselves then send it to them. Do our researches have an idea whether that is something feasible for us?

Outside of that, I would suggest researching the Spear, the S2, and the Blue Crystals at the same time, since we'll be referencing the same Elder data and they have the same cross-origin it seems best, and least for the first Tier of research.

However, there are Canons that have developed psionic attacks that we will be ill-prepared to handle. And while we may be protected from the SUE's psi attacks, we would be vulnerable to those of her thralls. And that's not including the threat of psionics from hostile factions during a crossover.

Salvage Corvettes are fragile. Useful, but fragile.
As for capturing ships: The procedure differs from ship to ship, and canon to canon. I don't know if a salvage freighter will be useful for captures on everything.

I suppose, since we do kind of owe them for helping to keep Chaos contained. Just get Holtz's okay first.

Though, now that I think about it, seeing the expressions on the faces of their sensor techs when the Executor transits out right by their base will be hilarious. If only we could secretly get nano-cams teraported onto their Operations deck to capture that moment....
Ask Holtz for a loan to get those cameras!

We should probably do an easier world.

While we probably won't be as filthy rich as we were when we plundered Smaug's Lair, running the easier worlds is a safer way to possibly get heroes and give our troops experience without throwing them into a meat-grinder. Not to mention that the worlds that we free with TG bases on them may contribute forces to us in the future.

After all, it was the relatively minor Fallout world that just gave us 1000 Securitrion MK II. drones! And that are programmed to have Imperial Watchmen faces on their screens and yell "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!" when they attack!

I highly suggest disabling anti-aliasing/smoothing when drawing. It may be jagged when zoomed in but it makes the image crisp and clean when zoomed out to a preferable distance.

It also cuts down time spent in the sharpen filters, which might be a crapshoot.

Ah, that reminds me: We should have them placed on the Relentless for when we need to deploy them planet-side. It's probably the only ship that has the space to house them all AND be able to enter a gravity well.

Or if it is a custom job. Considering the 'low profile' we wanted it for, lasers aren't important, but if we could have the Ultra AC/20 and the improved targeting, that would be pretty sweet.
