As promised, I will now continue the spider quest I started in this thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17384620/
(scroll down to get to the start of the quest)

You are a little female jumping spider. Your adventure began when your mom kicked you out of the can you had been living all your life, as she had a new brood on the way and she needed space for it. After killing and devouring an unsuspecting fly, you managed to narrowly escape a veracious centipede, by jumping off the table, and becoming the first spider, to your knowledge, to take steps on the floor of the shed.

Time to join a motorcycle gang and travel the American southwest, now that you've embraced your newfound freedom.

Your assumption about the floor and spiders quickly proved to be premature, as you soon encountered another spider inside a turned over bucket. After some awkward waving you found yourself a mate.

You and your mate are currently sitting inside the turned over bucket. There is a fresh breeze of air coming from somewhere behind the nearby toolbox. You hear commotion and loud banging noises coming from outside. What do you do?
    >> Spider Quest OP 01/04/12(Wed)12:00 No.17422169

I suppose it's time to find a quiet place to brood over your requited motorcycle-based fantasies, then.

Alternately, scope out this new frontier of adventure. What else is there to do in your new kingdom? perhaps there's a ransacking horde behind that toolbox ready to attack your bucket kingdom?

Post suggestions to what to do, and I will draw them. Keep in mind though, you are a spider, so that limits you somewhat.
I won't go overly realistically for the sake of keeping things interesting, otherwise this would be pretty boring quest.
The spiders, and some other insects are intelligent enough so you can interact with them in other ways than fleeing or eating them, but other than that, the setting is moder earth basically. Just from spider's point of view.

    Expanding on the web additions.
The chambers (storage, egg and hiding place) can be fortified with the food splinters that you collected, making them more resilient to damage. You also need to produce the silk for them, but this consumes your protein reserves.
You currently have about 75% of your protein reserves . Making a chamber costs 30 protein, while simply expanding the web costs 10, and the hunting lines 5.

Dorpou informs you that the cockroaches are hiding deep under the pile when it is day. They only come out at nights.
They are hard to find, but they generally can't flee if found. The one thing to watch however is their bite, while not poisonous, it is powerful. You should remember that they are still quite strong opponents.

Why? The darkness covers enough. Total blindness does not strengthen our sense of touch; better to leave it as is and not waste silk.

And anyway, maybe we'll get lucky and spot something. We use all of our senses; one might be more useful than another at the moment, but there is no need to discard any altogether.

He is unconvinced, and still offers to do it for you.
"I can catch one by myself. I-It's n-not like I n-need you or anything!" you blurb out nervously.

You begin to stalk one of the cockroaches. You can feel it moving nervously before you. You prepare to pounce.

Simply dragging them along is easier said than done. Although you both have the strength to carry one alone, it will take time and energy.

The distance is not too far. Bind the other corpse with sticky silk to an object or the floor, thus forcing any other predator to get past the mess before getting at it. This way we can pull the big corpse with the two of us, and come back. If anybody would try to eat the other corpse they'd have to work through the sticky mess, meaning they'd still be there with it when we come back, allowing us to kill the impetuous thief.
