The call does come in earlier than you both expected, a full year earlier. You emerge from the cave with your father a much wiser and stronger young man for your troubles. These past three years have been beyond formative for you, giving you a chance to really spread your wings and grow. You feel powerful, strong enough even to match your Father in hand to hand regularly. Your focus has been towards controlling your chakra. At this point you have such amazing Chakra Control that you can blast a very specific area with your Far Fist, boasting 89% accuracy.

The two of you are wearing gray robes with bandages around both of your feet and hands. You look, at first glance, like peasant monks traveling from shrine to shrine, a mistake that a few bandits made over the years. You and your father both hide your symbol on your forehead with a thick gray cloth which also supports your hair.

When you arrive back home you are greeted fondly by your Clan, your Father producing a massive index of the movements of the Land of Earth's clans and their assorted techniques. However, they are more impressed by how you've grown. Your brother, who is one of the first to see you, has also grown, settling into his manhood and wearing the outfit of a White Knight now.
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)14:32 No.16956687
The reason for the call soon becomes apparent. Main Branch members have been repeatedly and stealthily abducted on their way back from missions. Branch Members were dispatched, naturally, as guards. But any time that would happen the Main House member would vanish and the Branch Members would claim being attacked by some wild force of nature. The reason for the call was two Main Branch and three Side Branch members were abducted in the last mission alone, and the Patriarch was tired of the losses and want you two with your brother to go hunt them down.

Naruto is a gateway anime of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and DARKNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.

However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the jutsus, peculiar, colorful clothes, the whole ninja faggotry and everything about the Naruto world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on revenge, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the fuck up.

Naruto is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Naruto threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)14:34 No.16956702
This quest has already had like 40+ threads with no outpouring of Naruto on the board in general. Get over yourself.

Do we have any intel on when they were attacked, such as time of day, or of any indications of an impending attack?

Also, greet our brother, and congratulate him on making Knight.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)14:36 No.16956712
Well, let us tighten our sash, done our fighting robes, and go kick ass with dad and brother. And do we have a character sheet with what we upped on our three year break?

And, where there a lot of dead Uchiha on the clans doorstep when we get back?
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)14:41 No.16956751

    Also, since I forgot.

    IRC is #FiveNationsGeneral on suptg's.

Download for the pdf is http://www.mediafire.com/?a8ba9eb2tbnraao

And character sheet is in progress.

Strangely no Uchiha other than that one. The times of attack were entirely opportunistic. There was no warning, and no reason as to the attacks other than the fact that they were Main Branch members. The Patriarch has a list of people, including rogue clan members who sold out for money, who may be orchestrating these.
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)14:43 No.16956762
Also, since we did reach Chunin-level, we need a new UA. I believe Null Stance was the desired one?
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)14:45 No.16956785
Yup. Null Stance all the way.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)14:46 No.16956792
I like Null Stance. Nice and dramatic second-wind for when we spend almost all of our Chakra and folk aren't dead yet.

And lets start by...lets see if we can be all made to be Main Branch members, and then sent on a low level mission and come back, same way the everyone else has been attacked. It's a nice way to get both Father and ourselves into the Main House.

If that doesn't fly, lets just go down the list and start shaking the tree until something falls down.
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)14:47 No.16956793
Alright, we also need some perks.

    I'd say, get 5 Perks.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)14:47 No.16956795
    Yeah, Null Stance.
Are you okay with the mechanics of it?
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)14:50 No.16956818
Yeah, just going to remove the Genjutsu Resistance. But otherwise, yes.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)14:55 No.16956861
I think the first thing we have to question here is if the status of main house even matters to the party responsible for the abductions. Who exactly were the missing members in regards to the hyuuga clan? We need to know if they were working on anything for the patriarch- we don't need specifics, we just need to know if there is a linking factor besides the main house status.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)14:56 No.16956866
I think we were wanting the Chakra Dampening perks and going along that tree, in order to create synergy with Null Stance.

There's also Greater Chakra Control, which would give us twice the output from Chakra Control.

Maybe we should also increase our Speed Rank, in order to get more attacks in while in Null Stance.

OP, does it still take 2 Perks to get Blitz 1?

    Here's my outline:

Chakra Dimming, Chakra Muffling (2 perks)
    Greater Chakra Control (1 perk)
    Blitz 1 (2 perks)
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)14:57 No.16956876
    >5 Perks.

Greater Chakra Control: Requires Chakra Control 6 or higher - You gain 2x the output from any use of Chakra Control.
Chakra Dimming: You can reduce the strength of your chakra signal, giving a -1 penalty to foes trying to detect you.
Chakra Muffle: As above, but -2 penalty.
Chakra Blackout: As above, but you cannot be detected by a foe without a kekkei genkai or Advanced Chakra Detection, and then they still have a -3 penalty.

    Bat-Hyuuga is go.
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)14:57 No.16956879
It takes 5 MP, rather than the usual 3 MP, to get Blitz. I could give us Blitz and cut back on our Medical Ninjutsu by 1.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)15:01 No.16956895
I would prefer that, but it depends on if other players agree.
Then the perks could change to:
Chakra Dimming, Chakra Muffling, Chakra Blackout (3 perks)
    Greater Chakra Control (1 perk)
Battle Sense (1 perk) needs 3 people to flank us, instead of the normal 2.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)15:03 No.16956917
I'm also gonna say that maybe Creative Application would be a good buy, too.

And if we're Chunin, is our Chakra Control 8 or just six?

Well, while we decide on that, we'll continue the story.

You and your family head out to the location of the first abduction. It's clean and quick, which holds true for the first three. The next one, however, is much more violent with blood. However, you have a hard time seeing anything beyond signs of a struggle.

"This is a rather meaningless endeavour." Your brother finally comments, "We're hopping around out here in a combat zone with nothing to find, there's no way this assassin would attack us again, especially out in the open in broad daylight." He says, your Father keeping silent on the matter.

Something about these attacks seems off. They are hitting Hyuugas but the attacks seem to have changed. They started only attacking Main and now are hitting both, perhaps they don't recognize or understand the difference? Or maybe it's completely planned. Regardless, the trail is mostly cold, unless you can find a way to provoke another attack.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)16:10 No.16957333
Perhaps we can set a trap somehow?
Perhaps have one of us disguise ourselves as a member of the Main branch, with their permission, and try to lure out the assailants?
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)16:15 No.16957366
At your suggestion you come before the Patriarch who agrees to allow your brother to hide his seal and put a genjutsu on it that makes it invisible. With that in mind he dresses in the garb of the Main Branch and you and your Father dress as his bodyguards.

The three of you travel to the Senjuu village where you do a brief catch up and information transfer, including meeting Honda again who is impressed with your growth, though he himself stands at over six feet six inches and looks to be well around three hundred pounds.

On your way back to the Hyuuga compound you step on a piece of land and feel it click underneath you. Your battle senses activate and thick roiling smoke begins to curl around you all, causing all three of you to turn on your Byakugans. However, this was apparently planned as the smoke sudden explodes in a flash of white hot light, blinding all three of you. A heavy blow to the back of your head sends you to the ground.

Are we knocked out, or still able to do something?
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)16:21 No.16957404
You're out, we're just pausing for space.

You awaken in a cold breezy environment. It's hard to tell where as you are blindfolded and your hands are tied. You can't make the seal to activate your Byakugan and you haven't quite reached the level of proficiency to do so without a seal. However, to your senses, no other shinobi are near by.

That hypothesis is proven wrong, however, when you feel a set of light hands on your shoulders. Your Father taught you about capture situations, something you didn't think would happen a lot, but here you are. You sniff subtly, smelling a sweet smell like flowers and honey. The hands are cool and very light, they don't squeeze, but just seem to be there to show you that someone is with you. Suddenly you detect the chakra behind you, it's hard not to, it's a burning blazing signature that you know you'd be able to analyze with your eyes, could you use them. However, to your chilling realization, they are positioned right in the Hyuuga Blindspot.

"So, Shingen, how was the vacation?" The voice speaks, it's a deep masculine voice, completely contrary to what you expected from the feel and scent.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)16:26 No.16957444
    "Relaxing, if a little boring."

"That's good. You've been missed." The voice says as the chakra walks in front of you, "I'm sure you'd love to see me, with those big white eyes." It says again before chuckling, "Well, no matter. In time, I suppose. Tell me, what brought you to the Aburame clan's domicile? Were you there officially, or unofficially?"
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)16:29 No.16957464
Well, if it doesn't sound like it should, what did our father say about pushing our chakra into a Genjutsu? And...can we roll Genjutsu knowledge?

    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/18/11(Fri)16:30 No.16957469
Your Father mentioned the technique and said you may have the proclivity for it, but not the experience. He said you'd need to feel more Genjutsu before knowing how to push through them. You can, however, restart your chakra system.

(Rank+Genjutsu Knowledge. That should release you, if you succeed.)

As you respond you feel a sharp sting in your right arm, right above the wrist, it sends a jolt of pain through your arm and numbs it as you feel the stinger vibrating slightly before your arm goes completely numb. "Don't lie. You did it only for yourself. I know you did." The voice says again, but when you assert your honesty you feel the hands grip your cheeks and hear a shuddering breath. Suddenly you feel flesh under your left arm, presumably this person's arm. "Can you read this?" The voice demands as it runs your fingers over symbols. Though hard the person is certain to do it about three times so you read it clearly.

There are deep cuts and grooves in the skin, and they read "Shingen Hyuuga." A laugh comes from the voice, "You really are the hero you seem to be. I'm relieved."

The cloth covering your eyes is finally removed and there stands a huge man, which thankfully vanishes in a puff of smoke as Inari stands in front of you now. She has grown up to be a hell of a woman, it seems, but her eyes are frightening, almost, blazing with life and fire. Her chakra system also seems hugely improved. As you move to free yourself, your chakra welling up, you find that they cannot pass the point where he has her needles. Somehow she has an almost surgical understanding of anatomy and of chakra flow. She smiles at you, "I understand. You had to train, it's important to you." She smiled and looked at you, "Well, Shingen, you are a hero, but I think we're just starting the adventure. I'm going to leave, and when I do the needles are going to stop holding back your chakra. Now, we may not see each other again, but remember..." She says and touches your cheek fondly, "We're always together." She says and with that she leaves with a soft kiss to you forehead.

Minutes pass and indeed the feeling and chakra flow returns to your arms as you breathe normally and eject them from your body, slicing apart the restraints with your chakra as well before rising. You leave the small abandoned temple where she had you and look around, the surroundings are vaguely familiar, you're about three miles south of the Senjuu complex.

A tall group of men with black eyes and bald heads appear in front of you. "A Hyuuga? What are you doing so far from home, cousin?" One of them intones in a deep voice as his comrades look around the four of you.

We need to figure out how Inari was able to cut off our chakra with her senbon, and then come up with some way of countering it.
Maybe we should talk with some of the medic ninjas.
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/19/11(Sat)02:39 No.16961600
A consultation with the medics and your own medical knowledge reveals that it could be one of several things. Either she's using a poison that dries out your chakra system or she's using a lightning-based ninjutsu which she channels through the senbon to close off your body's ability to respond to stimuli including your own, effectively paralyzing you whenever she gets the slightest bit of contact.
    >> Anonymous 11/19/11(Sat)02:43 No.16961617
If it's a poison, it must be a very fast-acting one, and it breaks down fast, since the paralysis of our shoulders only lasted a few minutes.
More probable, I think is the lightning-based ninjutsu. But we'll need to come up with counters for each, just in case.

Also, what would happen if we were in Null Stance? If our chakra levels were dangerously low, what would happen?
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/19/11(Sat)02:44 No.16961623

You're telling me that in a world of elemental ninja magics, our entire clan more or less looked at the huge pile of elemental weaknesses inherent in our chakra coils and said "eh, fuck it"?
I know that the Hyuuga specialize in taijutsu, but this is just arrogance beyond belief.

Alright, time to visit the Senjuu. We're really racking up the frequent traveler miles, aren't we. Maybe we can upgrade our travel package.

Maybe we'll meet Inari again. Though this time, we should do the tying up, and she can do the being tied up. I'd like to get through at least one conversation with her without her either carving words into our flesh or sticking needles in us.

With the Patriarch's permission you head to the Senjuu camp and as you arrive you are greeted by Honda who leads you through the Clan's massive camp. You are brought before a few elders and medics who explain the nature of the test to you. "We will use elemental chakra on your hand while you emit chakra. Depending on the reaction, you will be able to know what sort of chakra nature you have. Being a Hyuuga, however, I'm sure you'll be able to see the reaction before we do." They explain and in short order you find out that you shatter the earth chakra with your chakra which begins to spark and pop. You have lightning chakra it seems.

And maybe we can take this opportunity to see how some of the Senjuu use their elemental chakra.

And finally, we can check that abandoned temple on the way back home, see if the senbon are still there. They might not have any traces left, but it'll still be good in our practicing to use the same senbon that Inari used.

You have worked on your speed hard these past years. You tear after her, leaping through the woods and grasslands at maximum speed. Your Byakugan on the entire time. This trail is getting too familiar for your liking. You're heading to the Uchiha grounds, and you have a growing sense of dispair at the fact.

However, as you are about to abandon hope, you see her, far far far away, and only for an instant before she evades you, but she goes past the camp, deeper into the woods. You follow her direction, but as you get closer your Byakugan suddenly shows a massive net of chakra underneath a large patch of ground you were going to step on. A trap of some sort. Curious you toss a branch onto the ground.

The entire area goes up in a flash of red and white hot light and flames. Certainly enough to kill you outright were you to step on it. However, the trap itself wasn't a very good one, it was plainly obvious to your Byakugan.

Dismayed you look around and notice something, a faint faint chakra signature. You see it hidden in a massive tree. Walking up to the tree you see that your hands pass right through it, a ninjutsu. You dispel it and pull out a young man, from the Land of Wind it seems from his coloration and hair. He's covered head to toe in dripping pin-prick wounds. Saving him would be very difficult. However, you also see a single senbon inside his chest, between his lungs, stopping him from taking a full breath.

It takes about three minutes of teeth-grinding work. You cut the man's chest wide open, your right hand doing the cutting as your left hand is pumping out healing chakra at the best as you possibly can. The senbon is removed and you close his chest. Not quite victorious, but a good day behind you regardless, you return home and collapse in bed. You can't quite burn yourself out like you used to be able to, but you can still get pretty tuckered out from exertion.

When you awaken the next day your Father is knocking on your door, "Shingen! I have great news! Hashirama Senjuu has gone into talks with Monzaemon Chikimatsu!! Fire and Wind may be able to cease open hostilities!" He said proudly and smiled, "Apparently you've been doing some work, this man, Chimatsu Takeda, was Chikimatsu's cousin, very close to him, like a brother, when he went mission Chikimatsu was furious, but when he returned and claimed a young Hyuuga man, with medical knowledge, saved him, we knew it had to be you." The Patriarch issues a statement, "Shingen Hyuuga, despite his past proclivity for disobedience, today has brought us newfound glory and honor. Though he has not chosen to follow the path of his brother, and join the ranks of those who serve us, he honors us all. That is why I am issuing him the distinction of being Branch Captain, in charge of any Branch-specific missions relating to the military. >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 11/19/11(Sat)05:16 No.16962229
Tobirama's book is being quickly circulated as a masterpiece on theory about shinobi tactics. It explains the functions of various types of shinobi and how they can make their skills most useful on the battlefield. You get a copy and read it cover to cover in an evening. As you finish a messenger tells you that there's a mission that's come in for you and a squadron of five Branch Members, including your Father who will be serving under you. There's a large movement of Earth shinobi who seem to be coming this way, and you are ordered to stop and if needed, eliminate them.

You speak to your father who is very happy that you are in such a strong position already. At the end of it all he pats your shoulder and says, "Good job, Captain."

When you and your team-mates assemble you all set off. The Earth forces are moving in downwards through the Land of Grass, however, you and your Father are very aware of the lands around here. One of the sensors, the member with the longest Byakugan range, speaks up, "Sir, I can see the beginning of their forces, they will be in our midst in about five minutes. What shall we do?"

She said with a smile, "I saw your Father looking at us with that "Dad Smile" you know?"

"I think you may be mistaking that for the "Shaking Fist Smile" my father is very fond of. Trust me, I've been around long enough to know he was just on keen on giving the both of us a whooping."

oh no we're alone with a girl. we cannot strike up a romantic interest with her /tg/.

Not with Inari on the loose.

    Sigh a bit.

"Ah yes. The dad smile. Well he's very supportive and a good father. We've gotten to know each other pretty well over these last few years. So what about you? Any aspirations that you'd care to share with a stranger you just met?"

"Do you need to return home soon? If so, allow me the honor of being your escort."

She'd be much safer with us along.

Aw, but we just did three years of Earth Surveillance!
    >> Anonymous 11/20/11(Sun)02:51 No.16968760
So? I'd prefer walking a girl home to finding out that she got Inari'd later.

She chuckles, "Yeah, well you know..." She says and curls a lock of her hair around her fingertip, "I want to surpass my brothers in hand to hand." She says with a smile and then when you offer to walk her home she jumps up, "Yes!!" Then she flushes and nods, "I mean, yes, I'd appreciate it, Shingen-san." She said nervously.

The two of you walk together side by side and she's doing her best to keep her eyes down for most of the trip, whenever you strike up a conversation she responds, but doesn't look at you. Sneaking a look with your Byakugan you see her heart is racing.

Eventually you reach the border of the Land of Grass and the Land of Earth and she finally faces you, "So, look, Shingen-san. I had fun today. If you want to train again with me, you can contact me here." She says, pointing at a huge lone tree in the distance. "Leave a note in the roots, I come here every day, so I'll see it. I had fun." She said and leans in and kisses your cheek, "Bye!" And with that she sprints off into the distance.

Watch her leave for as long as your eyes can keep track of her.

'You can come out now.' Whether or not your talking to yourself it doesn't matter.

If Inari is around she'll hear you. If she's not, then your talking to yourself and thats not crazy. Responding to yourself, now thats crazy.

For now I think we should avoid assuming Inari will always be around every corner if only for our own sanity and self confidence.

We should return home wondering how we got ourselves into a possible romance with out the slightest move on our part... twice.

Stopping a girl from getting raped is considered "Making a move" in some cultures.

Well, daddy dearest could be around too. Never asked anyone specifically to come out. Or someone from the team to keep an eye on us.

Your voice echoes out to the emptiness. You shrug and head yourself back home.

That night as you lay down and close your eyes, drifting to sleep very quickly.

The next morning you wake up to find a note waiting for you outside your door, "Please come meet me at the waterfall, I think it's time to talk. -Father."

Dressing and eating quickly you headed towards the water front where your Father is standing right in front of the waterfall and facing it, focusing in as he turns when you get close, smiling, "Come, my son, let's talk." He offers and parts the waterfall with his chakra as he shows you a cloth on the ground where he sits down and looks at you.

"That girl from yesterday, I wanted to make sure you had room to talk to her. I know it wasn't professional, and it wasn't military, but it was good parenting. I want you to have a life beyond the Clan, Shingen. Don't marry some cousin of ours, our House is nothing worth preserving, I promise you." He said with a smile, "Find someone nice, someone who you like, and follow through. Not saying it's this girl, but she's quite a cute one." He said, teasing you as he nudges your shoulder.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/11(Sun)03:20 No.16968905
    Oh god it's "The Talk"...
    >> Anonymous 11/20/11(Sun)03:26 No.16968947

Smile back to reassure him you understand.

    "What..what was mom like?"

He leaned back and smiled, "Well...she was different. A lot different from that girl. She was cool and calm, but when she got under pressure, or got worked up, she was a tsunami of emotion. She was strong, and beautiful..." he said with a laugh, "You got her demeanor and my easy-going nature. You're a good kid, and she would have been proud of you, Shigen." The man said as he patted your shoulder and squeezed it once before sighing, "Say, I talked to the Patriarch and he's willing to give you your first big solo mission. Free roaming with elimination duties." He said and pulled out a scroll, "He wants you to go around the Land of Fire, killing bandits and samurai, as well as enemy shinobi. For each token of their defeat he will reward you in ryo."
    >> Anonymous 11/20/11(Sun)03:31 No.16968976
"A solo mission? Across the entire nation? When can I start?"

Now we'll have the freedom to work on copying Inari's senbon chakra-cutoff technique, and tracking her down.
