The IRC is the suptg IRC and we're on the #FiveNationsGeneral channel.

Last time we were in the midst of a brawl with our beloved team-mate, Yuki. She just speared us through the stomach for about 1/2 our health, so we'll see how we proceed.

Can we come up with any response other than 'AAARRGGHHHH MY SPLEEEEEN!!!'?

    If so, then maybe:

"Nnn...good. Now show me your best."

*Rev up sword and Steam-up armour*

    Wat roll 4 dese?

Two actions per turn. So turning on your Avatar of the Sea ability will be 1, and then attacking with the steam is another.

    Fucking dicebot, man.

Your blade slams into her again and her bones seem to absorb all the damage once again. However, the blast of steam from your blade causes her to cry out in surprise pain as she stumbles back.

(5 Water Talent (no greatsword damage) +3 Steam (No greatsword damage taken))

16 damage to her. I would disavow using your sword again, personally.

"Remember this? You gifted this to me. Now let me invest something in you. Belief. I know you can do this Yuki- Prove it to me."

I imagined our voice as slightly strained from the wound- not quite desperate, but a little more emotive or louder than usual due to the pressure on us both.

Her blows fall against your shield like rain on a rooftop. However, there are a few times as you block that you see one of her bones suddenly launch up at your various squishy bits. Your words, however, seem to pull away at her rage as she struggles against it she finally collapses and grips her head, the bones running in and out of her body like series of pistons as she fights against the rage, panting hard and then smashing the ground several times, the bone spikes in the ground sinking back down as she controls herself as best as she can, dust rising before she finally stops.

When she rises she is much different. Her bones appear to not be jutting out of her like they were before, but instead form an insectoid carapace, the armor shifting as she moves. Her wrist blades, the hypoderms, are now fully developed needle-like blades with an easy grip for her. Additionally she is no longer visibly protruding bone, but that armor looks tougher than ever before. She appears to be tougher than ever, solid bone and completely in control, "Captain...are you alright?" she asks with concern as she runs over to you, kneels and heals the wound in your stomach as you control your breathing.

    Hey, I trust him.

We believe him to be an honest man, so what do we have to think that he will betray our trust?
Nothing so far as we know.

And I really doubt Akatsuki will try anything subversive so early. I think they will first recruit all of the villages, then spend some time to gain trust, then some more time to subvert village ninjas and only after that will they shoe their true colors (we are not even sure if they are nefarious).
This will take at least half a year, if Kisame and Satori break their deal before the trial period ends, they can be sure that hidden village of Mist, Leaf and Stone will pull out of the alliance.
I do not really think they want that.

"Promise me you wont try anything, senpai" If we really want to be sure (I doubt he will go against his word)

I understand why everyone wants to go drinking with ANBU, but it just doesn't seem like a really good idea.
I don't think you understand what ANBU is, or just how many of them there are.
ANBU is the black ops division, and given the expansion of ANBU with the loss of regular shinobi forces, we're probably talking about a hundred or more people. Not to mention the awkwardness of including the Hunter division, who act as Internal Affairs to hunt down rogue Mist shinobi.

Also, why did you just assume that it would be done division by division when you just said ANBU? You didn't mention any which division should go first, or any kind of specification.

You and the ANBU Captain discuss for a little while more before you suggest a training regimen. Though he expresses concern at sharing techniques and tactics beyond ANBU, especially as all ANBU is now both internal and external affairs, he agrees.

Soon you and four agents are on the field training in using your cloaks like the ANBU are trained. You can use them as part of a clever cover for a clone swap, you can use them as a shield for genjutsu which you launch from your mask, you can use them even in taijutsu as a distraction to guise your body's true position.

In fact, I would say the secrets of a kekkei genkai belong to the village and it isn't something we should be giving away on our own.

And of course we need to know what the experiment is and some way to make sure nothing goes awry.

Although our successful transplant might be it's own secret we don't want him to know about, but I assume he would be able to figure it out on his own pretty fast, unless it requires shikotsumyaku to perform.

Also, push Orochimaru too far and he'll just pull out of the deal.
He's the only one we can go to for the surgery that Mangetsu needs.
Orochimaru, on the other hand, will continue to have plenty of opportunities to get samples from Yuki, especially with Akatsuki backing him.

So, looks like we'll be taking the more difficult route of getting Killer B?

Or should we try to entice Orochimaru with a transplanted Shikotsumyaku?

I do not look forward to trying to get Killer B, especially if A is anywhere around.
    >> Anonymous 10/10/11(Mon)05:47 No.16578548
Capturing Killer B sounds like an awesome objective. They are already trying to invade us. We'd need to talk to people about capture tactics. Once he is beaten, ANBU has fuinjutsu that are helpful, and Gen might be able to help us be able to apply them on the battlefield ourselves. Genjutsu would probably help in pacifying him as well. Maybe using the summoning jutsu to remove him from the battlefield...

(giving Orochimaru shikotsumyaku isn't worth anything he would give us, although why is he so interested in B...?)

OOC knowledge: He probably wants B as a new physical vessel.
The massive chakra reserves that B has would make him a very valuable new body, especially in a world that has no biju.

How many others want to go after B?
    >> Anonymous 10/10/11(Mon)06:03 No.16578599
    >>16578548
One more thing; we don't know what kinds of kekkei genkai's or other Cloud secrets might be in B's body. In-character, Shimaru doesn't know that Orochimaru is constantly on the lookout for new host bodies.
All we would know is, we're being asking to provide information on a Mist weapon (shikotsumyaku) versus an unknown, possible super-weapon, in the form of B.
    >> Anonymous 10/10/11(Mon)08:49 No.16579152
Yes, first Shimaru should be wary Orochimaru see's possession of B as equal to the secrets of the shikotsumyaku.

Second, irc was talking, and if things turn sour with Akatsuki, the Cloud are the best bet for fighting back. They have had the least interaction and no known defectors, so there is little likelihood of corruption. There was an idea involving capturing B (perhaps as a Four Winds operation) explaining our position, and then releasing him to show our goodwill, hoping he would cooperate with the Four Winds Society. This of course has the problems of 'capturing B,' 'having the Four Winds accept him,' 'releasing him without it being an outright betrayal of our village,' and 'him actually listening to us.' Also that we would be giving up Orochimaru's deal. (I vote against giving him shikotsumyaku, and B is still questionable) Definitely more big choices to make.

A note, but there still is that healing and poison expect from the Village of the Hidden Sand. We could suggest this to Mangetsu because I really don't like the idea of Orochimaru getting his hands on anything important. A S-Class Missing-nin who specializes in tearing out the kekkie genkai of Ninja and using them against everyone just seems like a bad idea.

Also, bring this up with 'The Four Winds' in hopes that they can think of a way to trick Snake to heal one of our great friends.

Also, if we're going back and waiting, lets focus on training up with Waraji and Saito - who we should make sure is ok because of being attacked by The Leader.

Skill that we should be focusing on are our Bloodline Limit, our Summoning, and our Chakra Control and Manipulation.

I am not sure why everyone is so against giving a bone sample.

Yuki's fight style makes it damn easy to lose bones and anyone can scavenge them.
If she fights against someone who want to take a sample, it would be laughably easy.

The only downside I see is that she had a "level-up" in her ability and now her bones are even more special.
We just should have given him a sample from our hand, especially since we managed to negotiate against using live experiments.

Shimaru was incapable of breaking her bones with his enhanced sword, and she can have her osteoclasts dissolve the bones when she is done with them. I think it is a lot harder to find Kaguya bonebits than you imagine.

The Dawn and the Cloud are a much trickier game, though. At this point, the Cloud will probably be ground into submission by Akatsuki's vassal armies. If it was village forces, The Four Winds could try to influence combat to be as static as possible, especially someone like Shikaku (Shimaru, maybe not so much), but Satori will probably be using his own lieutenants. What would we be achieving anyway? Satori can easily wait until the month is over and he has a firmer grip on the villages, and if he is immortal he can wait as long as he wants. What is even the ideal situation? If the Cloud did exactly what we wanted what would that be? Remaining a non-hostile, yet separate, entity? We might be able to get a non-aggression pact between Akatsuki and The Land of Lightning/Kumogakure, leaving them as an independent force we can turn to should things go bad. Or that might just lead to Satori getting his diplomacy on with them too...

What is it we really need to do? Establish some kind of response should Satori turn out to not be the Messiah we were hoping. The obvious one being a military/assassination response, from what forces the Kage and Four Winds are able to prepare, possibly including the Cloud. There is also the possibility of negotiating for strong political positioning once the month is up, so the villages can have more of a say in what is going on...

Trying to get Chiyo to heal Mangetsu is pretty much impossible, I think.
First, she's not specialized in the techniques necessary. She's a poison specialist, not a surgeon.
Second, even Tsunade said that Orochimaru is the only one skilled enough to pull off the operation. Considering how much she and Jiraiya do not like him, wouldn't she have suggested Chiyo if Tsunade thought that it might be an a alternative?
Third, it's still letting another Village's medical specialist examine in detail the shikotsumyaku.

Also, I think that bringing this up with the Four Winds is highly unprofessional and quite frankly insulting to them. The society essentially asked each member to betray their Village in order to protect it, and now you just want to go to them with any little problem we have, even though this only tangentially involves Akatsuki?

    >>16579152

I say we completely reject Orochimaru's offer. It is NOT worth needlessly risking lives in a near impossible capture mission, nor handing out Kekkei Genkai to known terrorists, just to slightly boost the health of one swordsman.

    Slightly boost?
Currently Mangetsu has trouble controlling his ability to switch from water to solid, prone to fits of exhaustion, and will sometimes be so exhausted he can barely get out of bed.
Mechanically, he has a -2 to all of his dice pools and his health is cut in 1/2.
That's not exactly a minor thing.

If we were willing to give him some Kaguya bone, we don't know which would be more valuable to him. One from our hand may be less 'pure,' but it might show evidence of how the transplant was performed. We would have to ask the Mizukage anyways, since we are bargaining with her tokens, and asking Yuki would be appropriate. We can ask Yuki if a piece from our hand would be less useful to Orochimaru, but if it is as good as the original (or god forbid, more helpful) then I definitely don't want to give it to Orochimaru; though if the Mizukage wanted to she could order the exchange be made.
