While he is busy attacking and blocking Yuki he gets the feeling, too late, that you are attack. Your hand grips his shoulder and he yells out in pain as he feels the water ripped from his system. He hits his knees and is gasping from exhaustion and pain.

(He'll auto drop to Injured because of his chakra coils damage.)

And now OP has to away to the store.

While I am gone, however, be sure everyone to think of something on this side project.

Pick 3 people. Then using what you know about their abilities and your own, create a Combination Attack that you can both use for a sum of Chakra and Determination against super-powerful foes, as a way of showing both your co-ordination and united power.

    EX: Itachi and Kisame- Water Clone Massacre;

Itachi creates a water clone out of Kisame's water which runs forward and captures the target in a Genjutsu. Kisame then slashes through the water clone, hitting the target and ripping their chakra away before smashing them to their knees. He catches the water from the former clone and uses it at as a water shark and delivers that also onto the target, finishing them off.

Combo attack "Bloody Water Saw of the Hidden Mist"/ "Kali"/ or "Tasmanian Devil no Jutsu"

Participants: Simaru Yamada and the Hozuki brothers.

Effect: Shimaru uses the Hozuki bros to create a pair of water clones of himself and his sword. He then uses avatar of the sea on the transformed brothers. Using his chakra control and their chakra pools the trio makes three different buzz-saws,one is the real sword which is either fire or steam while the other two are cloned swords that use water. The three in conjunction create a whirling typhoon of death, using the hozuki's flexibility and special properties to fend off physical attacks and Shimaru's speed to dodge any other attacks allowing the three to switch their entire focus on offense, defense and counter ninjutsu.

Costs: Chakra (3: 2 water clones, 6: 2 avatars, ?: not sure how much water/fire/steam saws cost for sword)

    Determination 3-5 range?

I don't see this actually happening in game but I thought it'd be fun to try it out.

    Us and Yuki- Steam Explosion

We use her ability to hollow out her bones to shoot pressuried steam into her, which she channels into either her fist or the edge of her sword, forcing a constriction upon contact and detonating it with an explosive force, shattering poisoned bone-shards everywhere. As well as, y'know. Damage from the explosion- perhaps further augmented by her wind-natured chakra.

Saito and Tetsuo - Ghost dance

Saito uncoils a long, super-thin wire which loops around Tetsuo's blade. Using some form of chakra-magnetism, Tetuo manages to keep a hold of the sword while Saito turns ethereal, and proceeds to leap around the opponents of the battlefield in rapid succession. Saito them shifts out of his ghost form and the two pull the taught as he recoils it; slicing through the bundle of people they caught together.

Have we come to a concensus of what we want to summon? I like the idea of summoning Dolphins (or Dugongs) because Kisame probably has the Shark Contract and really, we could probably convince the Dolphins to help us since the Sharks are working for a guy that's working for a prick.

Not really. I like the dolphin idea as well if only because I imagine their grand summon would be a massive orca named boss Shamu. But the squid idea from before is also awesome, because then the grand summon is "Relase the Kraken!"

But my favorite idea is crustaceans, crabs/ lobster etc. Mainly because then we can have a training sequence with them to learn pistol shrimp taijutsu.

Flash Fire - Yuki initiates with a Gust of Blades, and Shimaru can shunshin in to support her with a katon buzzsaw (each doing 1.5x? damage for complementary nature combo) ending on the opposite side of the opponent, allowing Yuki to finish with a flanking bonus strike.

Thirsting Sea - Shimaru and Mangetsu perform Avatar of the Sea and grapple an opponent with some bonus, Mangetsu then makes himself into a water prison like pressure trap allowing Shimaru to easily hold them and suck the water from them (which could go to replenish Mangetsu).

Quick Cement - Saito uses dojutsu to activate a mass of earth so Mangetsu may move with it fluidly. Mangetsu then launches himself as a Water/Earth dragon at the foe (2.5x d?), reconstituting on the other side of them, having left them encased in an instantly dehydrated earthen tomb. (I suppose Saito could then also detonate it on them, though that may make it prohibitively expensive)

Team Tactics Trap - Shimaru and Waraji flank an opponent and simultaneously strike, the opponent suffering an additional penalty to defend against them. As long the opponent remains flanked they suffer a dice penalty to any action they try to take (including shinobi movement to try an escape).

Mummers' Murder - Gendo and Tetsuo do something awesome together. Maybe Tetsuo gets to initiate hidden mist and phantoms at the same time, where the phantoms look like Gendo, who approaches with a more effective Hideous Laughter before making his attack.

I have no idea about what kind of costs and exact dice effects would be balanced though.

    Shimaru + Aya:
    All dried up

Opens up with a vicious taijutsu combo focused around making as many cuts and wounds on the target as possible, finishing with Shimaru injecting the chakra-leak poison. The dazed enemy is placed in a water prison/double grapple wherein Shimaru and Aya turn on maximum chakra/water harvesting, draining the target until it is a shriveled corpse. Maybe have an added effect of Shimaru and Aya getting doubled gains from having critical successes equal to the amount of the highest rank shinobi in the manuver as well as rolling good enough to qualify for at least two extra effect dice?
    >> Anonymous 10/03/11(Mon)21:05 No.16511250
Well, I still say we should go with Dolphins as our summoning to show Kisame that while we may both be honest men, we're very very different.

    Anyway.

Tag Team Technique with Waraji: Keep Away. We basically smack a guy between the two of us using the flat of our blades. Takes them out of the fight and keeps them alive for after the battle. And the best part yet, if we're on opposite sides of the battlefield, we can both fight another opponent while the guy is traveling through the air...

Octupus or giant squid would also be good against sharks, too.

Crabs would give us more options since they could work on land longer than a marine-only summon like dolphins, squids, and octopi. Unless we get the water blast that Kisame has and can create small lakes in an instant, of course.

There's still the option of going big, stealthy cats.

However, unbelievably, they have been reputed to be doing good deeds across the nation together, defeating bandits, killing tyrants, averting natural disasters with their ninjutsu. People of the lands they have traveled through are extremely unfriendly towards those who seem to wish ill towards the Serpent on Strings.

Kimimaro hasn't been seen or heard from. It's presumed he's in one of Orochimaru's lairs.

THIS! Like THIS thing! Only slightly more curved, and with handles on the outer inside for when we throw it.
Also it needs a hollow in it that we can fill with water, and We could heat up the blade with fire element, so the water turns into steam and the steam makes the the spiked edges on the blade spins so we have STEAM POWERED SUPER HEATED MULTIPLE SAW SWORD!

A little late, I know, but I thought of a technique for one of the pairs.

Saito and Shimaru. Saito creates multiple earth clones with explosive tags (is it possible to just blow them up with charkra?) that shushin(?) towards a target to surround them, each grabbing the opponent from a different angle to immobilize them. Meanwhile Shimaru creates multiple water clones in a circle around the opponent and earth clones. Half of Shimaru's water clones throw their swords at the opponent (using that boomerang jutsu, I've forgotten what it's called) whilst the other half use katon. At the very last moment Saito explodes his clones causing insane amounts of damage whilst the opponent is being cut into multiple pieces, ripped apart and burnt alive.

    You like?

He says as he crosses his arms across his chest and produces a scroll, "This possesses some of my chakra, bring it to her as proof. My leader will speak through me, and she through you. Good shinobi such as we are tools." he says and rises, offering you a pat on the shoulder, "We'll meet here in a week."

Well fuck, I may have just suggested exposing our Mizukage to Pain's hypnotism...

The question is, what does Shimaru really think about Akatsuki's plan. Does a united shinobi force represent a stronger mist or a weaker one?

Another interesting question, when it comes down to it, would we betray our Mizukage if it was the significantly better option for the village in general? We accepted Mei as our new Lord, but she killed her predecessor (who could be considered one of the worst Kage ever), so that could be precedent. Or it could be said that our loyalty was never called into question. She was the new Kage when we got back; only if we had been there during the fight or her establishing legitimacy would we have been making a choice to accept or resist; otherwise the village had made its decision without us, and we were obliged to accept it.

In short order, after hearing the news, she takes you out of the office and down to the bowels of the building, sitting you down in a large stone room with statues of the previous Mizukages and her own state standing there side-by side as she speaks, "You spoke to Kisame Hoshigaki? And did not attempt to capture him?"

Just be sure to point out that if he could have his shark deliver that note to use, he obviously knew where we were, and we just had to act on the assumption that he could tell if we went and blabbed to someone. It was a calculated risk, one we thought was worth taking.

Our loyalty to the village and the people within it supercedes our loyalty to the Kage, I think, but in being professional, we listen to our superiors in most things.

Kisame's already revealed that Akatsuki's goal is to not make the nations reliant on the villages though, which would eventually involve the Mist village no longer existing in a fashion close to its current one. Whether that means it will cease to exist at all or whether it will just be absorbed into the leader's organisation is unclear...but either way I doubt it will be good. We already know he's a slippery chaplain-y kind of fellow. Not particularly trustworthy.

Still...we do have a function to do, to inform the Mizukage of the scroll- we'll just also voice our concerns whilst doing it.

You bring Gendo along at your master's permission and as the two of you travel he teaches you the basics of summoning, how it's a space-time ninjutsu and once you sign the contract with your blood your call will bring forth the creature. "At the moment I am the only one the crocodiles trust enough to bear their contract." he says and smiles at you, "You are a fierce warrior, my Captain, but you are no crocodile. You do not lurk in wait and then strike, you approach the challenge without fear and overcome it with speed and power. You are a true hunter." He admits as he wiggles his fingers, "I could help you, if you wished it sir, to find a summoning animal if you wish it. However I would like to stress the low success rate this has. I only have my contract because of my father."

Taking the non-safe route you can make it to Konoha in about two days travel. That gives you three days to talk to the Fourth, assuming that he travels as slowly as you both are going. If you can get the Fourth to acquiesce, he can probably arrive at Kiri in a few hours, tops.

You and Gendo put some haste to your feet and arrive just short of 48 hours of travel. Once there, you show the papers the Mizukage gave you, the reaction of the ANBU showing that obviously it was of great importance as they lead you right to the Hokage office after stripping you and Gendo of your items, leaving just your clothes on and your arms bound.

Once with Minato, who is finishing some paperwork, he frees your hands and tells you to take a seat. With a small smile he asks the nature of your business. As you fill him in his eyes seem to drop more and more, his sadness seeming to come up as he finally says,

"Kumo has been hiring these Akatsuki in bulk. Our intelligence tells us that about 80% of the contracts Akatsuki is bringing in come from Kumo, it's costing them a fortune, but they're waging a proxy war against us, and their hands are very very clean. It's difficult to track the money and we have no recourse outside of starting a war we cannot afford to fight." he says and runs his fingers through his blond hair before nodding, "I will need time to think on this. The Bloody Mist is a place where I have no friends, and a place that is full of danger. This may be a trap we're walking into, or even worse, a ploy to get me to leave my home. I will need to make arrangements before anything is for certain. Please, give me two days."
