Do Blood Ravens have Beaky (Corvus) Helmets at all in there chapter?

Never seen any. Making a Blood Raven's army because I'm making a pre heresy army, and I'll have left over marines. My pre heresy army won't be using beakies, and I'm thinking neither will my blood ravens, because they always seem to have the newer armor. So what do with all the beakies I have. I've got about 14 beakie helmets and 3 metal marines in mark 7 armor but with beakie helmets. What do? Include them in blood ravens or make all beakie display squad of raven guard or something?

Also Bloody Magpies General. We all know /tg/ loves dem magpies

Thank you for solving my problem. Not played DW2. been warned off it. Sexy all beakie assault squads it is.

Oh and my pre-heresy army, Not sure who to go for... going to be a chaos faction. Initially wanted to do Alpha Legion, but they don't seem as fun to paint and model, so I'm leaning towards an Emperor's Children army led by apropriately purple Fabulous Bile

Slowly his thoughts arose from their centuries of slumber once more. Chemical stimulants pumped in through the tubes connected to his sarcophagus and washed away the residual grogginess of stasis sleep. The sound of servos activating, lifting his armoured shell from its resting position into an upright stance, heralded the sudden explosion of light that filled his vision before clarifying into a familiar scene. Apothecaries and Tech-Marines stood before him, data-slates and tools in their hands, and one white-haired Marine ahead of all the rest in the centre of his field of view. The decorations on his armour identified him as a Brother-Captain. Something seemed a touch unusual about the whole scenario, but he couldn't quite put his power claw on it. No matter. It seemed the time had come again.
"WHO AWAKENS BJORN?" he rumbled through the Dreadnought's speakers. "IS IT TIME FOR WAR?" he added, hopefully.
"It is indeed time for war, mighty Bjorn," the Captain responded. "We have awakened you to do battle with our foes!"
There was a stunned silence from all in the room. It lasted a few seconds before the Brother-Captain broke it by clearing his throat.
"Uhm, yes, ancient one, it is time for war. That- that's not a problem, is it?"
Bjorn did not respond for another several moments. When he did, his words were slow and uncertain.
"I... I suppose you could, but to be honest, venerable warrior, it is your skill in combat that we were hoping you would display."
Again, a pause. A pair of apothecaries at the back of the group began to mutter to each other.
"Did we get the ritual wrong?"
    >> Anonymous 08/21/11(Sun)12:14 No.16013985

"I heard them say he was going senile... he probably doesn't even remember what he's supposed to do -"
A sudden booming noise echoed around the armoury chamber. It was a moment before anyone realised that the sound was that of laughter, issuing forth from the Dreadnought's speakers.
"VERY WELL!" Bjorn announced, once his fit of chuckling had subsided. "I SHALL DO BATTLE ONCE MORE!"
The worried expressions on the faces of the assembled Marines immediately turned to smiles and relief. "Of course, great one!" grinned the Captain. "It will be an honour to fight at your side!"
Bjorn was ecstatic. He was being awoken to actually fight, nobody wanted him to tell stories about fucking Leman Russ, and not once so far had anyone referred to him by his Emperor-forsaken full title. This century was shaping up well so far! If this luck kept up, they'd be celebrating their upcoming victories in battle with a complete sacred machine-oil application administered by a pair of the Adepta Sororitas -
"Uhm, mighty one? You sort of zoned out for a moment there... something about twins?"
"We are already aboard our Battle Barge and orbiting our target," the Captain informed him. "In a short space of time we will be in position to drop assault pods and initiate the battle. If you would follow me to the pod bays, we shall prepare to depart immediately."
Ah! So they were already aboard a vessel, and not in the fortress as he had expected. No wonder the situation had seemed unusual when he awoke, for he realised he did not recognise his surroundings. Bjorn approved; anxious to fight as he was, the prospect of a lengthy and boring voyage to the field of battle would not have been a welcome one. With a hiss and a whir, his Dreadnought's motor systems roared into life and he made to follow the Brother-Captain
    >> Anonymous 08/21/11(Sun)12:16 No.16013993

The Captain mumbled something quietly and the other assembled marines looked nervously at each other.
"We - we are aboard the Litany of Fury, ancient one."
"HM. A NEW ADDITION TO THE FLEET, IT SEEMS. THE CHAPTER IS DOING WELL. AND SURPRISINGLY CLEAN!" Bjorn remarked, looking upon the gleaming surfaces where hazy red reflections of his and the other Marines' armour could be seen. "I EXPECTED EVERYTHING TO BE COVERED IN WOLF SHI- RED. WHY AM I RED?"
"Oh, shit," muttered a Tech-Marine, before one of his companions poked him in the side with a mechadendrite. The Brother-Captain turned to glare at him for a moment before turning back to Bjorn.
"Why wouldn't you be red, revered Bjorn? Red has always been the colour of our chapter -"
"SILENCE!" Bjorn commanded, and the group fell quiet. Bjorn took a few steps over to a convenient nearby bulkhead and experimentally scraped one of his arms against the surface before rotating it into his field of view. A familiar bright blue could be seen peeking out from the scratched layer of red paint applied over it.
Now, Bjorn had indeed lived for longer than any other in the Imperium could claim, and the priests of the Space Wolves all believed the long years had driven him senile, but in truth his mental faculties were as sharp as they had ever been. Sometimes, however, they simply needed time to warm up after a long rest. He turned to face the red-armoured group, noting the bird and blood drop iconography featured on their shoulder-plates and the banners adorning the room.

"Now, mighty Bjorn, we can explain," the Captain began, but Bjorn silenced him with a shout.
This was not something they had expected. All stood worriedly as they waited for Bjorn's thoughts to reach a conclusion.
There was some conferral. Eventually the Brother-Captain stepped forward again and said "We... are... neutral on the subject of wolves?"
Bjorn leaned forward, as much as was possible for a dreadnought to do, until he teetered precariously over the Brother-Captain and the slightest tremor from the engines of the ship risked condemning the unfortunate Marine to a crushing death. He spoke.
    The Captain nodded frantically.
"GOOD. NOW WHERE ARE THE FUCKING ASSAULT PODS?" Bjorn demanded, spinning his power claw and returing to a normal stance, mirth creeping back into his voice. This could turn out to be a very good century indeed.

Gleefully slaughtering away upon the field of battle, Bjorn comes across his fellow dreadnought, Davian Thule! They immediately find common ground in their shared refusal to discuss the history of their chapters, and a beautiful friendship blossoms. OR IS IT MORE?

Then they keep the entire Battle Barge awake at night awkwardly shouting the dreadnought equivalent of gay phone sex at each other from their maintenance bays.

I do think my favorite scene is in Soul Hunter, where two Dreadnoughts *throw down* after ten thousands years. To everyone else, it's two machines clanking and battering each other- To them, they're on Terra, hacking at each other until their weapons break...Then it's down to 'bare hands and the strength to strangle'.

Isn't Eisenhorn's sword- Barbarister- in the game, too?

I always wondered. Shouldn't a Space Marine's power sword be way larger, and way more effective, than a human's one? Because they seem to have the same effect, while I've heard the Marine knives are the length and size of normal swords.

They could have just made a new one on an empty canvas but they went and stole a banner from another chapter and then repainted it.

I can understand looting ancient and powerful weapons because the knowledge to build them has been lost, but surely they could have just bought/made a new canvas for a banner.

That takes a special type of dick to go trough all that trouble and then cover up the original paint. I bet they think its funny when they fight alongside the Iron snakes.

It was actually an Ultramarine who distracted Horus and saved the Emperor.

He reminded them both that Roboute Guilliman was still their spiritual liege, which both blinded Horus with tears of shame that he would never be an Ultramarine and gave the Emperor the will to do what had to be done in order to prove himself worthy of hanging with the brave sons of Ultramar.

After being interred upon the golden throne, the Emperor was posthumously declared an honorary Ultramarine, the highest honour the Imperium could bestow.

The theory held up until Abaddon recently pulled some 'the Blood Magpies belong to me' statement. Red was the pre-heresy colours for the 1k sons, and they have that prediliction towards Librarians and artefacts.
    >> Anonymous 08/21/11(Sun)14:38 No.16015023
Besides, the general theme of the Blood Ravens is one of arrogance. They're hoarders of knowledge, but the various traitors all have the same theme of arrogance to their damnation. Now where have we seen that before?

Abaddon's strange lust for the Chapter more or less seals it.
    >> Anonymous 08/21/11(Sun)14:39 No.16015027
    wait, they belong to Abaddon?

Given Abaddon sees all Chaos renegades as being his, it's not conclusive, but he's confirmed to be strangely interested in the Blood Ravens for their being a fairly recent Chapter. Now if they were made with Luna Wolf geneseed, that would certainly go a way towards explaining his obsession...
    >> Anonymous 08/21/11(Sun)14:46 No.16015084

It is all but confirmed Blood Ravens = Thousand Sons.

From the Age of Darkness Book - Story "Rebirth" (hint hint)

Arvida is running away from the World Eaters and as he walks into the Shadows says "Knowledge is power" (Blood Ravens battle cry) and the last passage...

"The dim red light of the angry magma fires caught on his Shoulder-Guard, exposing the serpentine star set about the black raven-head of his cult discipline"

If the Blood Ravens are truly loyalist traitors who turned their back to chaos this would be the ultimate slap to the face for Abaddon and his whole ideology.

Abaddon is a man of ideals and principles, he sees humanity united under chaos as mightier and stronger than humanity under the emperor.

So Abaddon must corrupt or destroy these turncoats to prove to himself and the whole galaxy the superiority of chaos over the false emperor.
