    (Previous thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/15975401/ )

You are Renekton! Crocodile of the Nile with an itching for dancing and showbiz. Sadly, Crocodile's aren't supposed to dance...at least, that was until Set, god of chaos and the desert, decided to cut you a deal. You get to dance with a more appropriate form in exchange for service to him. Blood's probably involved, but you wanna' be a star, right?

Last we left off, you had just decided to enter Set's strange temple and relax in his strange dark pool. Underneath the bleak liquid, you recalled everything that was denied to you in life. Your mom, the school of fish, and the fishermen; they all denied you your dream. In fact, they practically spat in your face! Well, who's laughing now!

Your pool bubbles like a tar pit while Set watches on from the darkness of his throne.

    "Renekton...rise..."

Set commands you with his black scepter.

    (Roll a d20 for actions)

Dad always kept papyrus reeds of Isis under his bed, but other than that, you've never seen Isis. However, the gods aren't exactly people who you've met with on a regular basis.

The only two gods that have revealed themselves to you are Set and Sobek, each appealing to your desire and your sense of reason, respectively. Between the two of them, you decided that your dream of becoming the best dancer in all of Egypt is best fulfilled by siding with Set. Sobek offered to grant you audience's with the gods, but you're more of an average man's dancer; the public must see your greatness!

Maybe you can try to coax Set into letting you meet Isis, if you really wanted...

Anyway, you still float beneath the dark, deep pool with a strange fury flowing through you. Your body feels strangely empowered and odd; your muscles clench.

Set's first call goes unheeded. Tapping his finger against his arm-rest, he waits, patiently.

"...Renekton, let's not keep your audience waiting..."

Your mind becomes clouded with thoughts of humans and animals alike, walking lazily down the banks of the Nile. As they swing their arms, singing off key (those uncultured swine!), they are suddenly seized by your great form as you grasp them with your jaw. With a great thrashing, you carry them beneath the flowing waters...

You feel yourself smile. The black water around you pulses with your dark thoughts as your body becomes stronger.

"Oh...eager for blood, are we, Renekton? Good, good." Set whispers.

You rise to the surface, grasping at the side of the pool with your...hand? Your eyes dart back and forth between your new torso. Like a man: Tough, lean, and flexible.

"Now that...is a form destined for greatness."

You feel the black liquid pour from your mouth, each breath agonizing. You hear Set giggle like a child at his newest toy.

"Show them...show them your strength, Renekton."

At the edge of the pool, you see strange hole open, casting a deep blue glow on your surroundings. As you peer into it, you see some humans and herons laying quietly in the mid-day sun. They look close enough to touch...

    What do?

You feel your mouth open, letting loose a silent growl at the image in the portal. Your mind darts to possible targets: people or herons? Sharp sticks or stupid birds?

    (11 - Herons)

Your yellow eyes fixate on the flamboyant bird. Your jaw clenches as you feel your newly formed body quiver. You've felt the pangs of hunger before, but this was something different. Shoving your hands forward, your each into the image, grasping at the herons as they grow closer and closer. Your vision blurs into a bright blue light, the only sound you can hear is Set's cackling as your thoughts slowly turn sluggish.

From your deep slumber, you snort, shaking yourself awake from your bed on the river bank. Your dreams have gotten the best of you again. You scratch your chest, standing...

You examine yourself, finding your body still altered, just as it was in your dream. You sweep your hands over your new features, validating their existence. Hands? Spirit fingers and all. Legs? Ready for jiving. Fancy cloth? Just enough to tease the ladies. And...could it be? You reach out to touch the top of your head, feeling the small hat. YES! PRAISE BE TO SET: GIVER OF FANCY HATS!

From within your mind, you hear the suave whisper of Set.

    "...you know what I desire..."

You look across the Nile, watching from a distance as the fishermen you met before sit idle near the flock of unsuspecting herons.

    "Make it good..."

Inside your cold grasp, you feel a strange stone form. Harder than a stick, its curved blade seems ready sing.

You take your first steps into the water, the majority of your body vanishing below the surface as you guide yourself with nothing but your eyes.

What are you going to do exactly, Renekton?

(Sorry about the long respond time, guys. I had to step out for a little bit.)

    >>15982680

As you wade in the water, a few of the birds and fishermen instantly recognize your face. The herons scoff at you, instead turning to clean their wings as they stand on their long legs while the fishermen, most of them shooing you away with a few quick gestures.

Their mundane responses quickly falter, however, as you reveal Set's weapon from the water. A murmur of gasps arise from both groups as you slowly rise from the water, revealing your unnatural form. Opening your jaw, you smile, preparing your foothold on the wet bank as you begin your routine.

(20 - Dance the Dance of Death)

This is it! Your time to shine and illicit the rightful praise you deserve! Both heron and human alike are frozen, preparing for your next move.

You begin your dance, letting your arms and legs flow like the graceful performer you always wished you could emulate. The way your legs flowed with the strut of your arms was positively mesmerizing, your gentle flair luring your audience into a fall sense of security.

"Strike them down..." you hear Set command.

    (2 - Slicing)

The two groups are too far away from each other, even with your new sweeping reach. Thankfully, your performance has softened their senses. With a single swipe, you cut down three herons, their cries becoming drowned in the stagnant waters of the Nile bank. The rest of the flock quickly snaps out of your trance and take to the skies in panic. The humans are alarmed, and quickly grasp their meager equipment before they rush back to their boat.

One of the fishermen begins rambling, his eyes raised to the sky. You understand him this time: he appears to be beckoning to Sobek for this abomination of a crocodile to spare their lives.

"Oh, how cute...show them their answer, Renekton..."

(I may call it early today. I'm not sure if this is interesting or not for you guys half the time. :< )

(5, 19 - The Answer to their Prayers)

Your mind sparks like hay, the raging flame quickly overcoming your senses. Greater than your hunter's instinct or your need to dance, the rage tells you one thing only: destroy.

Leaping with your weapon in hand, you quickly fell the remaining fishermen in a few quick strokes. Their cries act as the applause to your performance. You stand alone on the green river bank, watching as the deep brown slowly leeks into a blood red. You raise your weapon over your head, yelling.

What do you yell and how hard?!

    (14 - Long Roar)

Just as Hu became the first word that echoed across the cosmos, your first words in this form have heralded a new era. Your roar carries across the Nile, your eyes watching as scores of fish, birds, and other life flee from your direction. You breath hard, your initial high fading as the blood slowly pools into the Nile.

    >>15983367
    (4 - Blame Something Else)

Your senses return, and the first thing you realize is that you have slain these innocent onlookers. Though you have abandoned Sobek, Rem, the fish god, or Anuket, goddess of the Nile, may look unkindly upon your actions against these fishermen. Using your stellar improvisation, you drop the weapon to the mud, kicking it under some brush. You look around for any witnesses before holding your arms up to the sky, exclaiming:

"WHO HAS WROUGHT THIS DESTRUCTION! IF ONLY I HAD ARRIVED IN TIME TO SAVE THIS INNOCENTS!"

Your words, though well meaning, hang hollow over your heart. Your attempt at righteous fury is quickly floundered as Set, from the confines of your mind, laughs at you.

"Oh Renekton...you are a riot, to be sure..."

Despite your solid performance and great encore, you now feel hollow inside...you look at your new hand, your mood sullen.

"There are more who require your entertainment, Renekton. Go north. There, you will find the city of Yunu. It is there that Sobek has a temple. Show his followers what power you have been gifted."

    >>15983468
You are now alone, standing on your familiar bank of the Nile. You know that there exists other patrons to the north, but your natural born spirit to entertain feels...squashed. Instead, only a blood-lust seems ready to take its place.

    >>15983488

You decide to follow Set's orders as you begin your trek North along the Nile. You slush through the mud, contemplating your current situation.

Sobek did offer you an alternative...perhaps you were too hasty in your decision?

"Having second thoughts, Renekton?" Set chides in to your contemplative reflection. "You've cast your lot, and I don't know of very many gods willing to throw their neck out for you..." You can imagine that bestial grin of his.

The sun begins its setting jog towards the horizon, leaving your body feeling the cold tendrils of the night. From a distance, you see a cluster of light, fire, and smoke along a particularly wide section of the river. A tall, marble-encrusted temple appears to be the source of the commotion, and appears to be not more than a few minutes farther.

    "...well, it appears we've arrived."

    >>15983617
(That's kind of what this is becoming, actually. Then again, you can blame the anons that recommended that we go down this path in the first place. Either way, hopefully it's entertaining.)

You beseech Set for guidance by trying to emulate your previous roar.

"Shush; the eyes of the gods are everywhere...as for your weapon, you have been gifted with a blade finer than any forged by the pharaohs. It's edge can cut the very air like cloth, and it's color is merely an extension of your reptilian...visage. You need no finer weapon to paint the earth red."
