    We have never enjoyed a war victory quite like this. Solstice was filled with people, people we had saved, their happiness and joy when they see our uniforms walk up the street had been a taxing sport on our part. Whenever we stepped out, we were guaranteed a meal in someone's house, or a drink at their tables, never mind the girls that gave us mischevious giggles as their fathers or boyfriends smiled nervously at our presence.

    However we were all taken by all kinds of knowledge these people possessed. More than once we were drilled on how much we learned from our books and whenever we turned up any answer, the conversation would go this way or that. Nevertheless the reactions to our presence here were mixed and more than once we were even regarded with disdain as if the fight had been our fault.

    Sometimes we wondered- if dealing with ghouls was a far easier task. But then another distraction, another smiling face, another lively conversation and the faces of my comrades would snap me back to who I am very soon after.

    And the resistance is just tip top. The people are ecstatic, hope has returned where it was long overdue. But the situation isn't any better. In fact, we are still losing.

    We suffer a disadvantage on conventional terms, despite crippling their chances at more occult advantages. The enemy holds our aerial assets, and they have taken our citizenry to work the Ibonyte Mines of Kolstec. From there they can launch armored and air assaults any time while our fields pile with more dead men.

    Our main armies are marching through the mid grounds of Valknyre taking back toe hold after toe hold only to be pushed back by these assaults. It is only a matter of time before our reserves thin out to the point of being victim to another major offensive, and the Voss take another major chunk of our people.

    On that note, Aeon, Iffram, and the States of Clovis has issued Ragnyll a diplomatic address-

    Clovis will agree to offer their full support if we can ensure the safety of Kolstec and her ibonyte mines such that we can be in a prime position to pay them back after the war.

    Aeon is sympathetic to our cause but worries that the taint of our lands will reach their borders if the enemy is allowed to spread over the Valknyre ridges - the mountain range that seperates us from the rest of the continent. They shall take judicious action should the taint of unlife threatens to become epidemic. We will also be judged heavily if our methods of fighting the Voss becomes all too black. A 50 page document is attached, along with a bible outlining all the grievous sins of creation that they can condemn us with....

    And Iffram's Queen Nelleny has issued us a personal thanks for ensuring the safety of her former teachers that now reside in Solstice's Academies. They would also like to say that some of their citizens have taken a sojourn in our borders like Helena and wish to express their concerns for them.     To extrapolate ; The Voss at Albane airfields threatens not only our air security but also sharpens the undead tip against Aeon - which, if punctured devolves our situation to a mere 2 front guerilla war if Aeon's involvement is in bad terms.

    Kolstec currently holds the highest captive population of Ragnyllians and would bring about a substantial boost to our fighting power as well as useable assets to play Clovis Private Millitary with if we manage to secure the mines.

    With the revival of the Archmages of this school, we await word from them and Iffram on our current standing as they will be a big potential help to us in future battles against the voss' dark armies.

    The Paranormal investigators lead the forefront to anti occult warfare and troop discipline. The job has had such a high male turnout that women are said to grow facial hair on the job.

    A clarification on the weapon rules for the Investigators.

    First off, the only one means that one member gets a shotgun, and the other a revolver, in the pair.

    Regarding revolver ammo, normal ammo counts against your six bullets. So it would be better to load up completely with cool ammo.

    Shotguns:
    Damage is calculated as 3 - hex, counting from one hex away. So at melee range (1 hex) you do 3 damage, at 2 hexes 2, 3 hx = 1 dmg, 4 hx = 1 dmg with a -1 to the rating.

    For Spread: 4 x hx means that the number of rolls equals the number of targets in the hex you are firing at. So 3 enemies means 3 rolls, etc. Additionally, the maximum range for spread shots is 4 hexes (discounting effects such as elevation). Thus, the normal rule of "-1 for every additional hex outside of range" does not apply.

    For slug: same damage convention mentioned above applies. The "-1 for every additional hex outside of range" applies for slugs.

    Well, concerning the enemies we've faced, most of them you can identify based on their unit icon on the map, which will be similar to ours but of a different color. These units are more-or-less Voss analogues of our own unit classes.

    Skulls are ghouls. Slow moving undead during the day, fast moving bastards at night that will rip you to shreds. Takes a squad to put one down, but they go down easily enough. Their bites are infectious.

    Squares with spikes on the sides are dullahans. Similar to your standard vanguard, but with more punch, health, and a near immunity to small-arms fire. Recommend use explosive weaponry on them.

    Large spikey heads that look like wolves/dogs are werewolves. Basically shoot the shit out of it and don't get close.

    In terms of armor and support, they've deployed blimps, tanks, and artillery, which are easily identified on the map.

    Some clarification are needed on their weakness for our new recruits though:

    Ghouls: Seem as resistant as a [A], weak to slicing and explosive, or anything that deal enough damage to kill them in a turn, scout knives were proven to do so, while it take at least two [A] rifle or smg bullet to kill them.

    Duallahan: Will be the "White" square with spike, not to be mistaken for the two man marauder squad that use the same symbol but a darker hue. They will take immense ammount of non-explosive non-armor piercing damagae.

    Werewolves: Know to take up massive ammount of damages, silver bullet and [V] are what command suggested as the way to deal with them, Massive fireline also did the job when tried.

    Haunt: We didn't meet them yet, lucky bastard like we are. They will scout for the enemy are invisible in the dark, and can possess you. Currently the only way to kill them before they possess someone is keeping a good lighting and attack them. If they possess someone though, you'll have to kill them, this will kill the haunt in the process and allow for field resurection via stretcher.

    Vampire: We didn't meet those, but seeing Voss uses ghouls it's only a matter of time until that happen, vampire are faster, thougher and act more quickly than human. Some also lived long enough to see the birth of Ragnyll as nation. Silver will hurt them and as Helena said [V] will do enough damage to incapacitate them.They heal in the presence of blood so if you're wounded make sure to avoid them.

    Aerial pictures surveyed, measured and .... accounted for enemy positions.

    It would seem that on Terrain like this one. the enemy Is taking no chances with reinforcements. Similarly, we suffer the same disadvantage. Roads are non existant and travel is so difficult that land based reinforcements are nill while the Voss enjoy a likely infantry traffic. Your mission is to either get enough men through the valley, on foot, or defeat the enemy.......

    > Platoon Squads
    Units can now have platoon strength troops comprising of up to 3 combined units and no more than 2 types. Example; a Platoon with Vanguards and Assaut will be [VAV1] , [AAV2] [VAA3] or [AVV4]. Upgrades will be communicable across all members of your unit.

    Platoons cannot break unit cohesion and cannot be spaced more than 1 hex apart. Unless given the order to " Post " in which the unit will remain stationary until called. In which case they will make it to your Platoon at their best possible speed and only that.

    At the end of each action Platoons must take special care in how they are formationed. Box, Circle, Arrow, Line, and Wall formations are among the most basic formations. With sub variations in scatter. 2scatter means no more than 2 members occupy a space. 1scatter means the unit is fanned out as best as possible. Also take into account which units will favor the front, and which will bring up the rear, this is important in determining attack patterns as the front will typically attack first with rear on clean up.

    Attack Pattern:
    Designate attack patterns in chunks of Front, Rear, Leftern or Rightern in combination with unit type to make processing easier. With 3 squads under your unit, micro ordering by single units will not get processed.

    Movement: The platoon will move only as fast as its slowest Unit. However, faster Units can extend to the front of elongated formations.

    The type of element the array taps depends on the terrain the array is placed on. An array placed in a river would give access to water, and array on rock to earth. An array on a high place like the top of a tall structure or something heavily tied to air like a windmill would give air power. With multiple arrays, elements can be combined to make new types of spells.
