You are the collective mind of a Bug Colony.
Your Mission: Survival and Proliferation of your Species. Using d20's and popular vote you will either make or break the Hive. Your colony begins with a Queen Bug, 5 Worker Bugs, 1 Hive Chamber, 1 Queens Chamber, 1 Surface Tunnel.

Spawning an overseer Bug will be difficult and take far longer than if you had more resources or alternate bug strains. Additionally it is ineffective to spawn overseer bugs with so few workers.

You now have (2) pts of Resource (workers replaced the one the queen just ate)

Expanding the Hive means digging, which means workers will have to be designated, the number of workers proportionate to the size of the project (unless you want slow construction)
Tunnels are free but take time depending on soil conditions. Purposed Chambers cost Resource as the workers are consuming more than they normally do.

Some Purposeful Chambers you can constuct
Soilder Hatchery -2pts: Speeds Solider Growth rate
    Hidden Surface Tunnel-1pts
Worker Hatchery-2pts: Speeds Worker Growth Rate
Fungus Plant-3pts+Fungus: Long-Lasting Resource gathering point for supplemental income or when mineral veins run dry.
    Breeding Chambers-4pts: Bio-lab

That sounds good. Also evolving venom/acid would be cool for warriors. I vote we prepare floodgates to redirect the water, in case of rain, into a prepared chamber so we have an internal water source and arent endangered to drown

also, workers should remain on the ground, as should grubs (if we ever research them), but we should look into wings for our scouts and warriors, making them fast search and destroy units from which not even flying beetles can get away.

camouflage for our workers would be nice, and maybe an internal posion that makes them unattractive for possible other scavangers (like birds)

    Queen Can Lay:

Plus we dont have to use the wings all the time we could have our workers shlep it and only fly if they have to so as to not draw attention to ourselves.

    >> Anonymous 07/19/11(Tue)17:17 No.15637766
I once read about a special species of termite that actually grew a caste that was used as nothing but a living water container.

No shit, those bugs literally were more-or-less transparent sacs of skin. They dropped those guys off close to a water source, let them fill up to 1000% of their original size, then used workers to carry them home again. The bugs just didn't want to lose any water to vaporization because they were living in the desert. and carryng singular drops would make them vanish in seconds. When they were back home, they just released some of the water each time someone was squeezing them.

I have two questions: can we have this sort of bug? (If not, at least not directly, can we modify them out of grubs or repurpose grubs to pull double-duty as containers and defenders?)
And the second: How much worth in Resource does water have?
