“Of course...” you answer, “If it isn't an emergency, I'll be with you presently.” you answer, turning your attention back to Kalfyria. The meal has finished, and Kalfyria, despite being a dragon, seems to have found it more than enough. “Now... I did invite you to my city, as well as my home. Azyra, might I impose upon you to show Kalfyria around Mza?”
“Of course, father.” Azyra answers, sounding none to eager, but acceding to your wishes.
“It would be a poor host of me if I required you to pay your own way..” you add with sudden concern, and gesture in the air. From nothingness, or rather, extra-dimensional storage, you produce a small pile of coins, ranging from platinum to silver. You hand the coins to Azyra, a generous gift even to her, and smile thinly as you see Kalfyria's eyes again gleaming avariciously. As if they had ever stopped. “I do hope you enjoy my city, Kalfyria. Perhaps inspiration for what you may one day accomplish.”
“I.. am sure that it will excellent inspiration, Azaladon. You evidently do little by halves.” Kalfyria replies, attempting to offer suitable response to your generosity. She offers a slight bow, and Azyra nods at you, before leading her off towards the eyries, and the fastest route down to the city.
“So. She's your protégée...” Scinnari says, once the door has shut behind Azyra and Kalfyria.
“Indeed. Your thoughts?” you ask conversationally, picking up the bottle of wine a servant left on the table and pouring yourself a glass.
“She seems... Dim, perhaps. No... Unfair, I suppose. Perhaps unworldly. I have no doubt that you've made quite an impression on her, but I'm wondering how much of her appeal to you is simply due to blind luck. Or simply race and gender?” Scinnar asks evidently in jest. |
