    Just failed third mission of Sin of Damnation. The squad that needed to grab the item got killed when their tiny room got swarmed by 'stealers who ripped them up from the flank, but the squad guarding the delivery point managed to survive for some time. One guy stood across a corridor when three spawn points were and took down 80+ 'stealers. Then a hundred of the fuckers finally pushed in from the area were the first squad was (since they were all dead they just kept spawning into the area). 80+ guy withdrew to the delivery point where he managed to kill five more before dying.

    Flamer is fucking useless.

    Can't kill 'stealers without making it impossible for anyone to advance, unable to do anything if out of fuel, takes to actions to shoot and is also the last to move out.

The mission ended with my sergeant and best veteran standing back to back. They did not die to a jam, simply the torrent of genestealers overwhelmed them.

    Also, Genestealers don't need humans to breed, they can do so on their own. They just like to infiltrate because they are dicks (old fluff) or they're the Tyranids' advance parties (new fluff)

    I remember coming up against Genestealers in Space Crusade- where you control a squad of normal marines.

    They were pants shittingly difficult to take because they had high armour values (meaning killing one at range required a good roll) and in CC, they got better attacks than anyone in your squad barring your commander (assuming he was equipped with a CC weapon). Even then, one bad roll and your commander could get wounded pretty bad by them. Worse off, they could spawn right next to your fucking squad on occasion.

    I don't think my voice packs are working properly all the time. For example, at the beginning of the turn I will hear things like "Be wary", but when an enemy is killed, on some squads I will here "another dead" and on some squads I won't hear anything.

    Personally, I'd like to see Angels of Retribution (to complete the set shown on the back of the mission booklet for Space Hulk 2nd Ed and Iron Hands. Oh, and the Scythes of the Emperor. Infact, if anyone can think of any chapters which specialise in fucking Tyranid shit up, feel free to post them up.

Try again and JUST manage to survive (genestealer couldn't reach the goal in time) with only the sgt surviving, who got promoted to Apostle and thus got to wear the Emperor's sacred bling.     Oh yes it does. All bolter weapons (which the hybrids seem to have) only kill on a 6. If look really closely at genestealers you can see blood spatters when they get shot. You are not actually missing, they are just tanking the hits.

    Completed my first campaign. During the last mission I had to escape with as many marines as possible. Most got to the teleporter but two, a blessed ans saint, got stuck between a blip and two 'stealer spawn points with several more coming in from other areas.

    The Saint managed to kill about 20-ish, and survived four melees. The other killed almost as many and killed two 'stealers with his powerfist. They both died like true badasses.

    PA marines can carry heavy flamers, and the suspensor heavy bolter is a good enough sub for the assault cannon. Not to mention the Deathwatch frequently uses teleporters in their deployments

    One of the things you download should contain a "language" text file. You need to go through all your folders in Space Hulk, finding the language files are replacing them with this one. It should work then.

    statline in space hulk? there are no stat lines in spacehulk
    when shooting marines get 2 dice each shot. theyhit on a 6. 2nd shot at the same target they need a 5 or 6. 3rd shot they need a 4-6, on 4th shot at same target they need a 3-6. any hit kills a stealer

    hand to hand is stelaers get 3 dice. marines get 1 dice...sgts get1 dice +1 to roll. higest dice wins

    and thats combat in Space Hulk

    Well if you convert it over to 40k stats. then its T4 5+ VS a S4 BS4 Assault 2. Lets assume that one round of firing represents the full 2 shot volley.

    That comes out to a 19.75% chance to deal the 1 unsaved wound to down a stealer per round of firing.

    Seems pretty spot on actually.

    You only get access to the armoury during certain missions, and then most of the time it's limited.

    You can make your own missions via map editor with unlimited armoury access or mess around with current maps.

    Once, back when the game was properly called Space Hulk, I had my terminators boxed in a square room with all entrances covered on overwatch.

    A single genestealer stormed the room and killed them all. All of them, all veterans. That one bug survived 17 shots and tore each of them to shreds in turn.

    I almost cried, and then I laughed for about three minutes. Then I commended the souls of the dead to the deepest of the deep and began a new mission.

    These maps are insidious!

    The challenging ones are set up so that there are optimal positions to claim that allow you to fend off the genestealers with overwatch. The hard part is that there are more of these positions then you have terminators. So its a constant balancing act between thinning the horde and moving on..

    It gets even worse when you lose people. I can honestly say that 90% of my victories have been from fortuitous command dice.

    If you think of the computer as player 2, the 50% or lower win-loss ratio makes sense.

    Those maps are easy mode. Compare the final mission of the first campaign to the first mission of Into The Wilds. You go from a conveniently "balanced" map with just enough overwatch position for your 8 bolter guys. (I didn't even get to use my flamers). To a jungle labyrinth with no straight lines and no radar.
