You grunt as your eyes slowly focus. You do not remember your name or your tribe, only that you are a Tusken Raider, one of the native peoples of Tatooine. You can feel stone against your back, and you realize you are in a shallow cave. A short bend in front of you shows light coming from the mouth, and you feel a sharp pain in your leg--looking at it, it appears you have been shot by a blaster.

You feel your pack for what you have, and try to recall your skills.

ASSIGN TEN POINTS TO THE FOLLOWING ABILITIES. ROLL A D10, THE HIGHEST ROLL OF THE FIRST FIVE WINS. ALL ROLLS IN THIS GAME WILL BE D10 PLUS MODIFIER AGAINST A TARGET NUMBER.

Yes, you remember now. You were never the best with the stick or the cycler, but you were intelligent, you knew how best to lead your people. Grunting, you wrap spare cloth around the wound in your leg, and limp out to the mouth of the cave. You see you are in a small valley, with sheer rock walls to both sides. There are no bodies around you--not of Outlanders, not of your own people. The sun beats down, and there is a sandstorm gathering to the north, but it does not seem to be blowing in your direction.

The cyclic bolt flies true and sparks against the fins in front of the engines, the energy-wreathed slug bouncing into the air intake. The engine sputters and the vehicle begins to spiral, though it looks like the pilot may be able to recover from your shot.

Two laps later, and while others racked up hits, no one else scored a kill. The other Tusken Raiders say they will take you to their Tribe, and present you before their Shaman himself. It will be a great honor, they say--there's been trouble with their tribe, and any sort of leader or marksman would be of great aid.

You look to the north, where the sandstorm still brews.

Truely, a sign of the gods.

    END TUSKEN QUEST 1.

This was really just me trying to test the waters, and i"m glad to see there was actual interest. Tusken Quest will resume next week, probably on wednesday. I will post an hour or so before it actually starts.

And sorry if the ending is abrupt, but I have a final in the morning, and as I said, just planned to test the waters.

Then I was like...no more original trilogy... D:

I might run it tommarrow, if there's enough interest, but I should be studying for my finals for next week, in all honesty. I'll post early on and see if there's interest, though, but if i run it, it'll probably start at the same time, yeah.

wait...so...they never leave Tatooine, so they never get to Coruscant, thus never build a sympathy vote for Naboo in the Senate, preventing Palpatine from getting elected, and the Trade Federation continues its blockade of Naboo since Anakin never blows it up, the entire party, minus Qui Gon and Obi Wan who get away, are captured by Hutts, and used as sex slaves...enter Natalie Portman in a Leia slave bikini.

On the down side, no more original trilogy.
On the up side, no more little-emo-annie crapping all over our childhoods, no Senator Binks. Papa Palpatine probably personally prepared a perfect plan in case things go pear-shaped, so he probably has plenty of contingencies, so the core concept of jedi-fall--empire--jedi-return-in-epic-struggle-for-justice can still happen, just not quite as before.

(sorry about the alliteration, i've always wanted to use the name palpatine in a long alliterative sentence)

    >A Brief History of the Galaxy
    >Entry: Naboo Crisis
    >>Section: Conclusion

The Naboo Crisis would eventually be overshadowed by other events of it's time and relegated to a minor footnote in history. With the disappearances (and presumed deaths) of Queen Amidala and the two Jedi Knights sent as ambassadors, the Trade Federation received a harsh censure in the Senate. However, despite vigorous arguments from Senator Palpatine, a majority would not stand against the Trade Federation's blockade. The resolutions presented to the Senate were lost in the political mire that occupied much of the legislature's time.

The inability of the Senate to respond quickly to the Naboo Crisis was indicative of just how loosely the Republic was holding together. The Republic was beginning it's descent towards civil war, rebellions and secessionist movements that would weaken the Core Worlds in the coming years.

During approximately the same Galactic Standard Year, a lone Tusken Raider began his rise to power among the Clans on Tatooine in the Outer Rim. The events on Tatooine would shape this Tusken Raider into the Warlord that history will forever remember him as.

On the downside, sci-fi as we know it doesn't happen.
On the upside, no more star wars fucking it up.
Original Trilogy was the worst thing to happen to sci-fi. Of all of the thousands of ways that sci-fi could've evolved, that was the worst.

I'm not so sure that they couldn't leave Tatooine for Coruscant. I mean, they could have bought passage on another vessel, much like Obi-Wan and Luke hired Han in the OT. But Qui-Gon is in deep, deep trouble. Not only has he lost the "chosen one", but also the support of the boys mother and Amidala. Plus, Watto is going to be extremely pissed and will very likely be wanting his money.

Qui-Gon's already shown he has no compunction about cheating and doing other dubious things for what he sees as the Greater Good. When things turned ugly, he very likely drew his light sabre and fought his way out with the Queen. They go into hiding for a bit.

One of the Jedi smuggles themselves aboard a vessel bound for Coruscant with the Queen. The other stays behind on Coruscant to search out the Tusken responsible for the death of Anakin. The bodyguard/captain (Tanaka?) and the handmaidens try to sell the ship they arrived on and buy passage back to Naboo. Jar-Jar is very likely sold into slavery to help fund this trip.

They will be stuck on Tatooine for a while. Qui-Gon and Padme slip out of the stadium during the race when they learn that Anakin was killed. They get back to the ship and move it to another settlement (Mos Eisley or Anchorhead) which inadvertently throws off the Sith that has been following them.

This leaves Darth Maul little choice but to cross the desert on his speeder, dangerously close to our hero's last known location.
