This is indeed Traveller. I'm trying to gradually build a collection of planets that I'm going to call Sector TG.

I used two of them from previous threads in my Traveller game last night, but I want to roll up a new one to be an NPC's homeworld.

Looks like this is going to be a pretty small planet. I don't have many of those yet, looks good so far.

The culture table is my favorite table. Roll dice+2d6 however many times you all feel is appropriate.

For some reason I keep winding up with sexist cultures that settle their disputes by dueling. I had some epic duels in a prior game of Traveller I ran - one of my players had a broadsword, Strength 10, and Melee (blade) 3, and he got them out of quite a few jams.

Also, I would still appreciate any good theories about who these folks are and why they live on an uninhabited planet.

They have a distinct caste system and they are heavily influenced by a neighboring system. I'm going to assume the castes are "grandpa," "mom and dad," and "the kids," and they're all from a neighboring system.

They have a really, really strong caste system. And unusual customs around sex and nobility. What the hell is that supposed to mean in a society of half a dozen people? Maybe they are decadent nobles exiled from a neighboring system for practicing the 24/7 BDSM lifestyle? This is the space version of Marquis de Sade's castle?

The planet Shandu in the Eonande sector is often called instead Ilyes' Domain after the famous dominatrix who calls it her home. Although she is a wealthy member of the Imperial family, she prefers outright lawlessness in order to more fully live the sybaritic lifestyle, and as such there is absolutely no law on this planet save the laws of strength and coercion.

The Ymesee, a rugged people with no central government, are proud natives who mostly keep to themselves, as defined in the Galactic Encyclopedia.
