Hovering over the docks, you watch the newly expanded party of heroes board the ship for their final leg of the trip to Kaza. It will take almost three months, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem. You aren’t terribly sure why the wizard doesn’t just teleport them there, at first, but it soon becomes obvious that his orders entail simply following along and aiding the team rather than doing everything for them. Ah well. At least he looks appropriately wizardly; ornate robes, a staff, and a long flowing white beard that reaches to his waist. He is bald, of course, and though you half expected him to be an embittered old man he seems rather accepting. Part of that might have to do with his liking for enriched halfling pipe-weed, but it could also be part of his personality you suppose.

“Quorin, Lann, Liss, do any of you you require anything else before we endeavour to depart?” Tissa asks. Lann and Liss shake their heads, “No, we just need to finish getting our stuff stored and we’ll be good.” Lann replies, causing the paladin to turn to the wizard. He simply shrugs, “I could use some time to ward the ship. After that we can get underway.”
    >> Vedibere !!O+eQDn0BBx8 04/09/11(Sat)18:05 No.14536114
Satisfied, you flick away and sail across the continent to Kaza once more. Returning to the tower, you are surprised to find half of Laressa’s bodyguard present yet she herself conspicuously absent. As you ponder returning to Melport to search, however, a portal opens in the throne room and she strides out, flanked by Stella and her half-orc bodyguard, “--sure that the information is accurate before we move.” Whatever she said doesn’t appear to sit well with Stella, however, “Lessa, I’m impressed by what you’ve done but don’t you think that’s reckless? Ranor is going to be pushing the nobles to invade and kill you in a ‘preemptive strike’ you know, I’m not entirely sure it’s the best time to potentially start a war over a cook.”

Your elf smiles before giving her reply, “Oh, I think it is. Besides, we won’t need to go to war as long as your team isn’t caught, right?” As they reach the throne and Laressa sits Stella simply sighs and places a hand over her eyes. “Fine, whatever, you’re the boss, boss. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” With that she turns and snaps her fingers, pointing to two of the others, “Let’s go, you heard her.” The two elves jump to their feet and stride through the portal after the red-haired elf, leaving Laressa and two elven guards (plus the half orc) alone in the chamber; the only sound her quill scratching on the stack of reports.
    >> Vedibere !!O+eQDn0BBx8 04/09/11(Sat)18:06 No.14536126
It has been too long since you took more than a broad overview of Laressa’s dealings, you decide. Hovering low, you first look through the reports she is currently reading and signing; standard rulership items for the most part. Minor unrest here and there across the island, growing pains as her new territories are incorporated into the Imperial bureaucracy, and some funding issues for the enormous army she has constructed so far. The last is not a particularly troubling issue you note as you shift to the backdated reports in a record room lower in the tower. Instead of the usual economy it seems your elf has begun transforming to a state-run force of producers. Clothing, weaponmaking, horse breeding, shipmaking, and even farming have all been slowly shifted toward a command structure. To facilitate this your elf has ordered the construction of entirely new suburbs for each labor division around the capital, self-contained production sites. Not only have costs been cut by over half, but production has skyrocketed as long transport times are eliminated and disputes are resolved quickly.

The relocations and shift have, sadly, not proven entirely popular with the peasantry from what you gather in the reports and brief overflight of the territory. That has hardly been a concern, however, considering the now battle-hardened force and constant air presence she maintains above every major city. Her inquisitors, now a force almost twenty thousand strong with unlimited powers, roam the country in search of dissent -- usually backed by at least one airship and a force of 2500 crack troops. Overall the measures have worked extremely well and the underclasses are slowly adapting. In a hundred years they will have not known any other way and react violently to any attempt to return them to the old way, you imagine. Unfortunately, there is one drawback you note: godly intervention.

    Oh hell yes, Omnipotence Quest.
    >> Vedibere !!O+eQDn0BBx8 04/09/11(Sat)18:07 No.14536135
It seems that several gods do not take kindly to the revolution your elf has undertaken. Blanketing her lands and falling especially heavy upon her are several curses of misfortune, bad harvests, and reduced productivity. Though her new economy far outproduces any of the neighboring lands -- even larger ones -- it could be much more so without such power working against her.

Satisfied with your inquiry, you shift to following the elven team that was just dispatched. Just to see where it goes, you hop through the portal... to find it exits into the royal palace back in Melport, the throne room to be exact. Many changes have happened here as well from what you can see, Laressa’s austere elegance replacing the baroque displays that were present last time you were here. The “emperor” stands among the servants to either side of the throne, you note with a small measure of levity. It is indeed oh-so-clear who truly runs this state. Annoyingly, though, you don’t see the elves.

Casting about, you note that they are nearly outside the city already... and moving quite fast, a great distance above the ground. Curious, you snap to their location and find an invisible airship with them aboard. The most interesting thing of all, though, is that it appears to be on a direct course for the city-state you placed the archlord’s daughter in. It seems word of her talents spread quickly.

Quite an intriguing state of affairs. You wonder now, however, what your next course of inquiry should be... Follow the three elves? Investigate the country further? Speak with your elf in person? Or perhaps flicker over to the elven nation and make inquiries there? Hmmm.

Investigate the gods but do not appear before them or allow ourselves to be perceived. For the moment, I see no good reason why we have to tip our existence and give the gods time to associate ourselves with the recent turn of events. Even if we are omnipotent, them being aware of us could be problematic for our pawns and our game at large. It might be more fun for us if the gods are kept in the dark about our existence.

We're not all knowing. How do we know which gods are causing this? Like Vedibere said, there are hundreds of gods, any one of which could have done this. If we want to keep up with the present, we can't spend all that time investigating the gods.

I, for the record, vote for us to watch the strike team.

Reputting forward my suggestion from last time.

Monitor the cooks retreval, once she has her then give her a choice. Tell her we can bring the gods working against her to our dinner party in order to give her the opprotunity to convince them to stop. (with wards in place to stop the soul-sucking, if she can stab a god then good for her).

Or she can try to deal with that herself and we can have our 1-on-1 time.

I want to see which she would choose.

Method for getting the gods is a polite invitation in person. If they say no then they will be made to attend. We won't influence ther decision to keep annoying her beyond that though

I like the idea of the gods having absolutely no clue what is messing with their own world.

I actually agree with you on the elf, I'd love to see how she deals with the gods when shes powerful enough to start messing with them - or when she gets some gods to help her out.

Perhaps give Stella a warning to give her about the gods interfering and see what she does on her own about it. Do we always need to step in right away the second something might interfere with her? I know we all seem to like her but I thought part of this was to watch and see how she does.

Go invisibly to a few temples in various places and swipe a few texts on general overviews of religion while remaining otherwise undetectable, so that we can get a good, thorough overview of the gods. Make copies and then put the books back undamaged so that we don't leave evidence of our existence.

My idea here is to read through them so that we know who all the godly players are, or at least most of them (in-character, not necessary out of character for the sake of OP not wasting time), and can select them effectively for whatever purposes we have.

Personally, I'd like to pick an ambitious and hateful demigod or two and set them on the path to successful warfare against the various more powerful gods, both for shits and giggles and so that the divine realm is thrust into chaos as a backdrop to what's happening in the mortal realms.

Other matters. I would like to pull up a past-scrying device (not that lets us influence past events, just see them like a 3D movie) and track things back to watch the first meeting that Laressa had with any of the members of her current elvish posse after she began her rise to power. That seems like an interesting scene which should give us a few nice tip-offs as to what's going on with her.

The gods... they will need to be dealt with soon, you suppose. Setting aside the ‘how’ for now, however, you turn your attentions toward the red-haired Stella and her compatriots. At present all three are on deck and speaking, thus you judge it as good a time as any to listen in. “Okay, so we’re going in blind but this is hardly the first time we’ve done that. The really tricky part is ensuring we aren’t identified. This skyship is invisible, but it’s entirely possible some mage or random guard with a detection item. will see it, so we’re going to be landing a few miles away and infiltrating the city. We have horses so it shouldn’t be much of a problem. Questions?”

One of the to raises his hand, a handsome brown haired elf with green eyes, “Yeah, Stella, why are we really here? Lessa isn’t the kind of woman to do this for some cook, no matter how good they are.” She shakes her head in reply, “Don’t know. Not even I can figure this one out. I guess we’ll see eventually. Hopefully it won’t turn out like her plan to infiltrate the royal chambers.” At the last part she cracks a smile and the other two chuckle. The rest of the flight is spent in minor smalltalk about how everyone is enjoying the ‘human lands’ and preparing the vast array of weapons that are secreted about each of the assassin’s bodies. Eventually the airship crosses the border into Kardava and touches down, the crew unloading both horses and elves then proceeding to attempt making mundane camouflage for the ship.
    >> Vedibere !!O+eQDn0BBx8 04/09/11(Sat)20:04 No.14537220
The trip into the city proper is, honestly, tedious and boring. You frequently feel your mind wander but to their credit each of the elves remains sharp and alert the entire way, though they do an excellent job of hiding it. Standard tolls at the gates and they are within. Though the entire union of city-states has been preparing for war, they apparently have not been preparing security for assassins... at least not of this caliber. Immediately the third elf, raven haired and pale, breaks off with a telepathic communication; “Going to scout escape routes.” The others give no response, presumably because this was expected.

After securing a single room as lodgings they quickly split up and begin a thorough investigation of the Duke’s mansion and the surrounding city proper. A few inquiries by Stella proves the cook’s reputation, it seems everyone in town knows about the skills of his cook, Arina. Further investigation reveals that she hardly ever leaves the estate now that she has both residences there and understaff to fetch ingredients for her. The brown haired elf seems to have brought quite a bit of finery with him, and after changing immediately moves to locate any noble parties being held that night. One quick wall scaling and several bluffs later he has used both looks and charm to ingratiate himself with a half dozen noble ladies, finding out that it’s rumored that Arina has taken up with the Duke himself, a young man in his early twenties and unwed. They say that he means to even /wed/ her, a peasant and commoner! Positively scandalous, what with all the noble ladies vying for his attention already.
    >> Vedibere !!O+eQDn0BBx8 04/09/11(Sat)20:04 No.14537230
An hour past midnight all three have returned to the inn (somehow the dark haired one knew where it was...) and begin sharing their findings. Plans are made for the morrow, and all are agreed that it will be moderately difficult but hardly impossible to infiltrate a Duke’s bedchambers and abduct his lover without ever being seen. Impressive. With that, however, they take to bed, each taking a watch during the night. Hardly required, but thorough. The next day follows much as the first, but instead of rumor gathering all three begin making meticulous layout drawings of the Duke’s palace. This continues for three more days and even requires occasional infiltration inside, until finally they have a complete structural drawing of the entire castle and a working map of guard patrols around it.
    >> Vedibere !!O+eQDn0BBx8 04/09/11(Sat)20:05 No.14537241
More than enough to make a plan, it seems, and said plan is wonderfully complex: Before entering they will find a woman with the same basic build as Airna and render her unconcious. They will infiltrate past the guards with the woman, enter the duke’s bedroom after he and Arina have fallen asleep, and use a disabling poison to render Arina unconcious prior to killing the Duke. After the two men have spirited Arina away Stella will throw the random woman from the window of the duke’s keep tower.

The murder will have a threefold purpose and is a command decision by Stella, you note; first, it will mean that the duke’s death will seem to be a freak murder-suicide, his just retribution for holding a peasant woman so close. Second, the instability caused will make future invasion by Laressa easier. Third, it will ensure Arina has no reason to refuse employment. By posing as foreign friends of the now-dead Duke who spirited her away, they will tell her how his enemies within the nobility attempted to have both of them killed. The cook’s loyalty will be assured and indeed, it makes ironic sense; who would go through such trouble to maliciously abduct a mere cook, after all? A last gift by her beloved seems far more palatable.

All that is left is the execution.

I propose that after she's gotten the cook to make us our divine meal we reward her by giving her that info(as opposed to more power, which she really doesn't need). As for other machinations, I still suggest we make an undead out of Ugantu and pair him the the blood guy as an anti-god bodyguard.

it's going to be hard enough on them when the chef wakes up and finds out their bringing her to Kaza. I don't know if you were here for the previous threads but she was the daughter of one of the archmages of Kaza before it fell. Then Ugantu made her into his personal concubine until we took an interest in her. When she finds out where she's going, well, I doubt she knows Ugantu is dead. She might just kill herself.

We do nothing, it'll be more entertaining to watch Stella and crew get blamed for costing Laressa her dinner date with us.

Deciding to check back in after the three of them have put their plan into motion, you move instead to the godly damnations hanging over the Partihian Empire. Close inspection reveals four separate curses and two boons, proving that the gods are, as always, a bunch of infighting curs. The boons come from Vaul and Hesperax, while the damnations come from Parthos (from which the former Parthian Empire took its name), Sylvus, Korvus, and Illistria; both lists in order of strongest to weakest.

Vaul you have already researched, and it seems he has either not forgotten the worship Laressa once paid him or approves despite being forsaken. Hesperax is the human Crone Goddess presiding over the domains of Hierarchy, Order, and Forced Submission; it is fairly easy to see why she granted your elf’s empire a boon.

On the other side of the coin, the four gods and goddesses who have laid curses upon it are the human god Parthus, god of Light, Defense, and Honesty; Korvus, dwarven god of Industry, Invention, and Crafts; Silvus and his wife Illistria, elven god and goddess of Light, Right to Rule, Warfare, Strength, Creativity, Forests and Fertility, Family, Freedom, Growth; respectively. Parthus’s curse seems especially vindictive, and will fall most heavily upon Laressa and her soldiers in the midst of battle.

Can you plan that out a bit more? I mean, what do you expect us to do? Just plop down in front of Korvus in all our Omnipotence and start bombarding him with questions?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to the idea of explaining some things to the dwarven god. I'm positive that the only reason he's pissed is all our fault anyway, but we should at least have a specific plan of how to portray our self before we do anything.
    >> Vedibere !!O+eQDn0BBx8 04/09/11(Sat)22:05 No.14538530
As a general rule gods mostly only deal with their race and those of other races who specifically worship them, mostly because those are the only ones who empower them. The dwarven god of honorable combat might not really like seeing a human warlord butcher women and children, but he's not going to actively intervene to stop it because it would be wasting power he could be using to help his people and worshipers.

There are exceptions, of course. But not that terribly many.

In that case, I would give Laressa's holdings a once-over for worshippers of Korvus. There's obviously some kind of deific power flow from worshippers; locate that and backtrack it, if we can. Also, I would like to lay a boon of luck upon the elven infiltrators. Just a little something that will cause them to avoid bad luck. If the plan is good, they will succeed on it's merits and not be foiled by curses or pure happenstance.

Also, Vedibere. One thing I've noticed is that you tell us something, and then we want to know why. This leads to a lot of debate and planning on how to do it and generally slows the quest down. Perhaps rather than just telling us that a curse was laid by god X, you could also tell us why in 1-2 sentences? We're omnipotent, so summoning the info into our minds shouldn't be difficult at all. Yeah, okay, sure. Vedibere has been hinting at some drama in the elven lands for sometime and the possibility of another attack is most likely in reference to the elven nobles? Perhaps I'm just grabbing at strings. Mostly domain-specific. I'll give a list:

Vaul: Increases the ability and stealthiness of the empire's covert operatives and assassins, increases their ambition and drive to succeed at their missions.

Hesperex: Increases loyalty, reduces unrest, causes people to mostly accept that they are underlings and obey.

Parthus: Reduces combat ability at critical times.

    Korvus: Stifles imagination and productivity.

Silvus: Causes people to question Laressa's legitimacy and reduces combat ability slightly.

Illistria: Poor harvests, increases in stillbirths, and makes the people more willing to rebel and seek freedom from oppression.

You survey the empire and frown. This will not do, Laressa is yours and for these... /pathetic/ deities to presume to touch her or her works is unacceptable. You reach out and send a wave of spiraling power through the curses and boons alike, negating their effects but leaving them in place in such a way that the gods who placed them will be unable to tell the difference. Satisfied, you adopt your true form and cast outward, searching, searching. Farther and farther into the cosmos you spiral, until you reach the deific planes of this reality. It is time to play this Korvus a visit.

You quickly locate his personal demiplane among the metaphysical area the dwarven deities congregate in, a vast layered underground workshop with an infinite number of floors both above and below. It is filled with a legion of spectral dwarves hammering away at works both fantastical and mundane, or perhaps arguing over schematics and blackboards while designing new ones. The central level, if an infinite space can be said to have such, is where you find Korvus himself; a great heavily muscled dwarf bare-chested and laboring over an anvil and forge. Each swing of his hammer causes the lab itself to shudder. Naked from the waist up, his skin shines almost un-noticeably with a divine golden radiance, though his eyes blaze with both light and the intelligence required by his work. You manifest behind him and wait, but after several minutes it seems he is too absorbed in his work to notice you. Frowning, you speak up, “Korvus, I presume?”

At first the god makes no sign that he heard you, but after another few blows he gives a wave of his hand and snuffs the forge, then turns to quench the blade in his hands. Retrieving a towel from nearby, he turns to you while wiping the sweat from his brow. A great braided beard reaches halfway down his chest, and he slips his great forge hammer through a belt-ring before addressing you, “Aye. Ye’ve quite the power to come here unannounced mortal, though I’ve respect fer yer skill to do it. Be quick about your purpose, ‘fore I send ye back where ye came from.”

Just got here. I think we need to be a lot more specific with actions that we want to do.

I dunno why you guys even want to help Laressa out at this point. She's already way too powerful compared to the other forces we have in play. If several Gods weren't already messing with her empire, I would have suggested concocting some disasters ourselves.

In any case we're already talking to dwarf god. Let's ask why he is interfering with the mortal while NOT giving away that we are in favor of Laressa. Maybe try t point Korvus to our group of heroes and have him offer aid (and a dwarven champion party member).
    >> Anonymous 04/09/11(Sat)23:35 No.14539431
Ohhhh, pretend to be a new god.

One worshiped by the Parthian Empire.
Your strength is connected to the strength of that empire and you have full dominion over it, but nothing else.

If he asks, tell him that.

I'd recommend pretending to be against Laressa. Say that our goals coincide. Don't come off as too powerful. If he tries to affect us (maybe by trying to banish or imprison us), act like it's affecting us, or maybe make it seem like we're exerting an immense ammount of effort to keep him at bay.

You give a small smile and a tilt of your head, “I come with but a question, what issue do you take with the Parthian Empire? Their recent inventions, their greater production, their curiosity and ability to think beyond the normal... surely you of all gods would appreciate that? And to use such power for so few of your worshipers within it... I find myself curious.”

He scowls and his eyes narrow, “Ye’ve a set of brass ones to question a god within his own realm, mage. But aye, I’ve a fondness or invention, but not what be going on there.” He shakes his head and finishes drying off and begins evaluating the blade he just made while he continues, “My people don’t be needin’ tha likes of you folk destroyin’ our trade and such. Tha northern dwarves ‘ave been holdin off tha great orc clans fer generations, like their fathers and their fathers before ‘em. I’ll not let ‘em all be starved or lose their rightful place ‘cause some upstart elf bitch got it in her head ta’ think she’ll be outproducin’ ‘em or out-inventing ‘em. Now begone with ye.”

With that he waves his hand in your direction and you feel godly energies surround your form, attempting to transport you back to the world...

yeah we don't want to miss the action and in the other hand every time we hop around we encounter something cool if Vedi would just said "ok you hop to the heroes nothing new to report what do yo do?", we would be less motivated to hop around.

Personally i like the idea of empowering a lot of different people at different degrees and then only turning their way when they clash or do something awesome rather than to have a handful of people and holding their hands all the way, and besides the initial sometimes gradual empowering only intervene when they encounter something that they cannot handle yet and would be a waste to lose them (like the heroes and the org). To this i end i propose we abduct orphans make them ultra loyal to us and give them scrying and psychic greater than the gods so they can keep an eye on our toys and inform us when they are about to do something awesome.

You know Vedibere, it doesn't help that people who want to do one thing often are only here for the end of the quest. So you have the people who vote to find out stuff about Laressa post at the end and then based on their posts you set up the opening of the next thread. But it's all different people at the start of the new thread and they deal with what you set in front of them and then go about their own interests. Leaving those of us who wanted to learn more about Laressa (like me) to come in at the end of the thread and facepalm at how little was actually discovered.

Oh, I vote to start the next thread with a quick creation of a ship crewed by the undead (but nothing too challenging for the ships crew and our heroes) to attack Tissa, Lann, Liss and the new wizard while they're traveling, but don't stay and watch the battle. Then move on to the poisoning of the duke and kidnapping of the chef, then possibly move on to Laressas reaction to the success or failure of that mission and possibly her dinner invitation.

Stick with Laressa, or rather with things related to her. I consider the elven nation an extension of the Laressa storyline. And I still want to dig up her backstory. The thing is, Laressa is honestly the best girl we've got- because we don't really need to do anything where she's concerned, she provides good entertainment on her own. Which is exactly what we want IC, but exactly what it seems that we aren't supposed to have OOC because it means that the quest becomes pure writefagging. Ironic, that the quest's very goal is something that the OP is opposed to us coming close to.

there would be plenty of opportunity to still interject with whatever and whoever we are watching we just need to think of something

I want to watch the past. Specifically I want to watch the periods of time in Laressa s life when she was working or training under this "Master Koris", who we saw ever so briefly before /tg/s ADD forced a scene change. There has to be a way to do it without paradox. That guy from Stephen King's The Dead Zone could see the past. And I'm sure there must be spells that can be used to such an effect.

Yeah entertainment is the goal but no matter how good they are no one is going to be entertaining all the time, right now laressa is siting in her throne managing a growing empire or planing how to expand not really amusing, it would be way more entertaining learning about her plans when she sets them in motion and it will be way more entertaining to learn of her ties to the elven kingdom when those ties come into play (we are spoiling ourselves).

As i said in >>14540301 we should be creating more villains, more heroes, more unprecedented natural disasters, more legendary monsters, etc... most of them would serve as stepping stones to another's (ala ugantu) some would self destruct and a little handful would become entertaining toys at same level or above laressa.

I think we should stop obsessing over our #1 Fan maybe attend that dinner we promised but going as far to make custom made challenges for her to prover her worthiness when we could be empowering people who could rise to become as powerful or more than her and then pit them would be far more entertaining.

    TLDR. More macro less micro.

    >Ironic, that the quest's very goal is something that the OP is opposed to us coming close to.
While I've been refraining thus far, I would like to point out that this is complete and total bullshit. Being entertained does not mean sitting back in the sky watching your chessboard move into position on its own.

    >Which is exactly what we want IC
This is the part that is wrong. You just want to be entertained. Sitting back and watching is one way of being entertained, so are active participation and other methods.

It doesn't mean that you exclusively dick around and do nothing other than get updates. You could have gone an almost infinite number of ways to keep yourself entertained early on. You chose chessboard-style, and that's fine. I obviously do not object to it, as I've been basically doing that for going on ten threads now.

Now, it has been firmly established that you like sitting back and watching your puppets dance. I am fine with that, and it's honestly a great idea with good story potential. Problem is, it's not compatible with the current quest format, and this is partly a limitation on my part. I can /not/ crank out walls of text in the quantity you guys require by hopping around and saying "I observe, I observe, I observe, I observe." It's easy for you to just say watch, but every time you watch I have to throw out between 500 and 2000 words (funny story, we're over 50k words total so this quest qualifies as a novel now) in a somewhat reasonable timeframe. It has made me a better writer too, because crafting an interesting multiple-plot story where the main character does not participate at all is hard as BALLS.

Even if we start throwing gifts to random people we have the same problem: /tg/ can't fucking agree on anything. We'd bumble around trying to figure out the right people to give stuff to. Then we'd bumble around trying to decide the scope and nature of the boons we should bestow and OOC it would take just as long as any other action we could try with our current crop of VIPs.

Anyway, after Monday I'm probably going to take a hiatus to try and work out a way to make this viable without just saying "lol u guys can't play liek u want" or anything like that, because that is one thing I will never do. Sadly, I am somewhat doubtful a 4chan quest thread is capable of sustaining it. It's just not a format for such large amounts of text between meaningful decisions. If I can't manage it I might just have to call it off or hand the quest over to someone else, sadly.

tl;dr: Due to both writer and 4chan quest thread limitations the way you've chosen to play might not be viable.

yeah its not perfect but we would be doing something instead of just observing also the process of empowering would get smother with time and if we stop trying to get laressa type results every time we empower and lower our standards sooner or later it will stick.

If we limit our involvement to empower, feats compatibles to conquering a nation and death then we wouldnt be wasting time observing boring parts or OOC Vedi wouldnt have to pull out something interesting for every character every other thread and could just write when as the inspiration to write for certain character and then have our scrying/clairvoyant orphan tell us who is doing something awesome this could even to the decision to who to watch in action and who to watch the outcome.

You know, this stuff with people wanting to know more about Laressa is only going to be more "hands off and observe"? So why not do something like what >>14540721 posted? But instead of making that the focus of the thread, just write it all out ahead of time and then dump it when the session is over? Then the thread can focus on more action oriented things and the people who want to learn more about certain things/characters get the info (short story) they are hoping for?

I don't know. I still think part of the problem is we have too many characters. It's not that people get bored with one and want to jump to another, it's that people get caught up thinking out courses of action and then get easily derailed when someone comes up with something cool that could be used with another character or done to a new person or place. If Vedi would put his foot down and say "OK! for this thread this is who we are working with. No switching unless it's obvious that no other progress will be made." then the jumping around wouldn't happen so much.

I still think its better to empower some orphan to tell us when something interesting is happening with someone and meanwhile we empower people left and right and let things them follow their natural course if our toys become interesting or not, if they isolate themselves or not or if they waste they power or not let it up to them while we make other things.

I think our greatest failure are the heroes as they have done nothing worthwhile and we have been holding they hands since day one, its more our fault of how we chose to empower then but still.

The one set of characters for thread could work maybe Vedi should implement it to see how it goes anything better than him dropping the quest.

Sorry vedi, we got to focused on our chessboard-style, that it became too much of a burden on you.
Probably because the begguining of the quest was so amazingly crafted that decided to just stick with it

Let see how monday sesson goes maybe we will figure out how to make this work here

Im not a /tg/ regular and I stumbled onto this thread and read all the previous threads. Great stuff. I guess we abandoned the druid as a potential rival villain.

He seems to be the only entity left who can match our elf's power. Lets appear before him and just out right show him what we are like we did with Laressa. Dont tell him we have anything to with Partihian Empire's rise to power. Just tell him we want it destroyed and give him to the tools to do it.

Hey guys, I wanna start reading through this quest, but the suptg archive's first omnipotence quest thread doesn't work. Is there anywhere else I can read it?

the list of working archives is in a post near the top

In the interest of making something meaningful happen, I vote we speed things up with our heros. I want to see if they can actually put up any kind of a fight against Laressa's ridiculous military machine.

Speaking of which, they don't really have much motivation to fight her right now it seems. We were originally going to have them butt heads with Ugantu as a warm up, but Laressa just went in and wasted him.

Currently their goal is to find...some kind of vague magical something in Kaza to cure Tissa's king/?

Hmm. Does Tissa's homeland happen to sit anywhere near the current borders of the Parthian empire?

I guess we could just waste the pope guy and make it seem like Larissa is responsible.
