TMNT is not a Rifts book. Rifts books won't help you.

The second edition of AtB says "A Complete Roleplaying Game" on it and has a different cover from what you posted.

    SPINY ANTEATER or ECHIDNA (Mangarna)
    Original Animal Characteristics
Description: Looks like a little porcupine, but with badger-like digging claws and a long, naked snout, out of which comes a long stickt tounge (up to 8 inches long). Like its only known relative, the Platypus, the Echidna is a egg-laying mammal. One of the creature's major talents is that of digging, a skill that allows it to burrow straight down and out of sight of predators.

    See that 65 BIO-E?
That's what you have to spend on mutating your spindly ass. Our PS and PE have gotten a little boost from our race.

Also a few animal psionics we could pick up.

And now that we've got a proper pdf to copy from, I can give any details quickly now instead of relying my shamefully slow typing.
So again, 2 Military Skills, 4 Physical Skills, and 6 Secondary Skills, and Wilderness Survival is already included.

What skill shall out Freed Slave Mutant Spiny Anteater be knowing?
    >> Anonymous 04/02/11(Sat)12:00 No.14449255
there was a great spiny anteater pic in Mutants DOwn UNder, he had the groundscanning radar rig attached to his back.

give our guy: mechanics, radio, canoe building, hunting, first aid, prowling, climbing, rope work, survival

Also Hand to Hand Martial Arts

That will be acceptable. I will note there is no Weapon Proficiency, though if Quills and/or Spines are taken, you will has formidable natural weapons.

    Accept these selections? Y/N?

Actually, looking closer, Wilderness Survival is already included seperate from the 6 selections, you have one more choice to work with, and 'Hunting' by itself is not a selection in AtB2. Wilderness Survival will cover basic survival and you might be interested in tracking or trapping if you want to catch things, or prehaps Identify Plant & Fruit, which in the mutation heavy world of After the Bomb can help to safely discover if a given item is actually safe to eat.

For those just joining us, this thread turned in a character creation thread back at >>14448010
We have since rolled up a mutant Spiny Anteater with relatively meager starting stats who is a freed slave escaped from the Empire of Humanity.
We are currently working on wrapping up the skill selections.

did we ever decide how much to drop into bumping up the size? size 6 would be nice. no real penalties but thats a hefty 20. would probley have to cut down a few of the earlier choices..partial hands and parital speach perhaps

and what name are we giving our plucky little spiny anteater slave?

2 Military Skills:Camouflage and Intelligence training-he is not a fighter thats for sure...deep recon intel would probley be a good role for him

4 Physical Skills-Prowl, Running, Climbling, HtH (basic)-again..not built as a fighter...better for intel and recon work

    >> PissedOffNotOP 04/02/11(Sat)17:00 No.14451766
Looking through, it does occur to me that the pre-2nd listing do lack the optional disadvantages.

I'd be willing to allow theses if you so choose:
    -5 BIO-E for taking Nearsightedness.
-10 BIO-E for taking Vestigial Quills (hannless, but they rattle
continuously, and shed all over the place; -30% to Prowl, +20% to Tracking rolls to follow the character).
    -5 BIO-E for Diet: Insectivore.
    >> PissedOffNotOP 04/02/11(Sat)17:07 No.14451842
    >>14451717
Going from 4 to 5 will just be 5 BIO-E, it is the difference between levels for cost. And at least 5 will bring the -2 penalty off our IQ. Unfortunately our spiny friend doesn't get any extra IQ boosts.

Mental speech has a 150ft range and can communicate to individuals or groups as long as they are in range. Speech only.

~chuckles~ ok..that could be good to go along with his cooking "Ahhh yes..we take this nice pupped up grub mash and slowly simmer it over and open flame before taking a handfull of fire ants and sautuing them up to a nice crispy brown! excellent! that means we can bump up to size 6 and get rid of all the penalties and only cost us 10 points. AND leave us about the size of a medium dog.

    Size 6-10
    Spurs 20
    partial hand 5
    Digging 10
    Telepathic Transmissiom 5
and take the Diet: Insectivore +5
